Hi everyone, welcome back to another Classic/Chibi chapter! I hope you guys like it, because this is where things start to kick up for the sub plot of my story. Expect some action and plenty of humor here, as usual. Now, with that said, let's get started.

A Chibi Rose in the Classic Wind (Part 2)

Mercury locked eyes with Metal Knuckles, both staring each other down with fierce intensity. The steel-clad resolve of the young man's eyes almost matched that of his robotic opponent.

"You are going down, dude! Down!" Mercury declared. Metal Knuckles responded by crossing his blades to his own throat, silently indicating this would be a slaughter. "Let's do it! Ready… set… Go!"

They both turned to the arcade game of Mario Cart and pressed the buttons and pulled the sticks as fast as they could, trying their best to beat the other. "Come on, give Papa a good mushroom!" Mercury stated as they played their game.

At the same time, Emerald hid behind the arcade game, her head peeking out as she looked around nervously before slipping back. "I think it's gone… it's gotta be gone… right?" Emerald muttered to herself, holding her legs close. "Please be gone. Please be gone. Please be gone."

She felt a tap on her shoulder, causing Emerald to stiffen up as she slowly craned her head to see the blank and soulless eyes of Tails Doll staring right back at her.

Emerald's high pitched scream startled Mercury and Metal Knuckles from their game as she ran so fast, she left a trail of fire behind. She even ran past Robotnik and Metal Sonic as they listened to Cinder who explained to them how they got here.

"So, you and your friends and enemies happened to be near this glowing rock and got zapped to my world?" Robotnik summed up.

"Yep, that's pretty much it." Cinder confirmed.

"Must have been the Chaos Emeralds." Robotnik assumed. "Only they have the power to alter space and time. And only they would have the means to get you back, after I conquer the world that is."

"Why don't I help you with that?" Cinder offered.

"Why do you want to help me conquer the world?" Robotnik questioned.

"Because I'm evil!" Cinder proclaimed as she gave an evil laugh with flames surging around her.

"Meh, good enough for me. You're hired!" Robotnik stated.

Suddenly, an alarm sounded throughout the whole base, causing Emerald to stop running and halting Mercury's game with Metal Knuckles.

"Ah man! I was gonna win that!" Mercury kicked the arcade game so hard that it broke.

"Hey! That's a vintage!" Robotnik pointed toward him.

"What is that?" Cinder asked.

Robotnik went over to a nearby console and analyzed the readings. "A disturbance in space time… and it happens to be on Angel Island. Maybe it's the same thing that brought you here."

"Then let's go get it." Emerald said.

"But if we're getting this, that means Sonic and his friends will be there too." Robotnik said. "And if your enemies got here too, that also means that Sonic and his friends have already met them so they'll be right behind the blue rodent."

"Why would they? What makes you automatically assume Sonic will make friends with our enemies?" Mercury asked.

"Cause that's how things go!" Robotnik answered. "Sonic always makes friends with everyone! It's sickening and totally convenient for the plot!"

"What?" Emerald asked, not understanding what he meant by that.

Robotnik then grinned. "But this also makes it a perfect opportunity to finally unleashed my latest creation, the Hard-Boiled Heavies!" He declared. "Now… to the secret lab!"

"Aren't we already in a secret lab, though?" Cinder questioned.

"The other secret lab!" Robotnik clarified. The group of villains followed the round doctor to a statue of his face built onto the wall. "Pull the lever… Mercury!"

Mercury grabbed the right mustache of the statue's face and pulled it down, but this opened a trap door underneath Robotnik, sending him falling down a pit, much to the group's wide-eyed surprise.

"WRONG LEVER!" They heard Robotnik's scream before a splash followed.

"Oops." Mercury winced as Cinder, Metal Sonic, Emerald, Metal Knuckles, and Tails Doll eyed him with annoyance.

A door in the wall opened as Robotnik stepped out, soaking wet, dragging out a robotic alligator behind him that biting onto his rear. "Why do I even have that lever?" He questioned before slapping away the robotic alligator, causing it to whimper like a dog as it ran back out the door.

"Out of my way!" He shoved the others aside as he pulled the left mustache of the statue's face, causing it to split open and reveal five figures, all with glowing red eyes, powering up and ready for combat.

Robotnik and Cinder then both let out comically evil laughs that echoed throughout the entire base.

"Why do bad guys always laugh?" Emerald asked. "Seriously, is evil supposed to be funny or something?" Metal Sonic, Mercury, Metal Knuckles, and even Tails Doll only shrugged in response, unsure as well.

At the same time, in Green Hill, Ruby and Blake had explained to Sonic the same circumstances upon which they ended up in his dimension.

"Now, are you sure that you didn't see any of these stones?" The blue Hedgehog showed them a picture of all seven Chaos Emeralds. "Not a single one?"

Ruby took the picture and gave it a good look in every angle. "Nope." She confirmed, popping the p at the end. "The colors are all wrong. It was kind of a dark pinkish…"

"Magenta." Blake corrected. "And it was shaped differently too."

"Hmm, a magic stone that's not a Chaos Emerald…." Sonic thought for a minute. "What do you think Tails…?" When he turned around to address his best buddy, he was shocked to see Tails being squeezed and cuddled by the gushing Weiss and Yang.

"Awe look at this cute little guy!" Weiss gushed. "And his two tails… they're so fluffy and adorable!" She pulled the dual tails in and felt them along her face.

"He's even cuter than Zwei! And that's saying something!" Yang gushed as well.

"Sonic! Help!" Tails tried to crawl away, but got pulled back into the double-snuggle as Yang and Weiss clung to him tightly.

"Nah, I think you're good." Sonic grinned.

"Hey, can you two take this seriously for a moment?" Blake questioned irritably with a sigh. "Ruby, you're the leader, maybe you should…" She turned to her side to look in surprise at the sight of Ruby bouncing up and down on a spring that just so happened to be on the path they were on, making the titular sound with each spring.

"Weeee!" Ruby squealed as she bounced up and back down again. "This is better than jumping up and down on the bed! Weee!"

Blake only smacked her hand on her forehead before Yang and Weiss got their gushiness out of their system and let go of Tails, much to his relief, as he crawled back to Sonic.

"You okay, buddy?" He asked.

"…Too much unauthorized snuggles…" Tails took a moment to catch his breath.

"So, you think these Chaos Emeralds can help us get back home?" Yang asked as she looked at the picture of the titular stones.

"Yep. They can basically do anything once you bring them together." Sonic answered.

"Excuse me, I have a question." Weiss raised her hand. "Why are they called Chaos Emeralds when there's only one emerald in this set?" Everyone looked at her with blank expressions, even Ruby as she continued to bounce up and down on the spring. "Oh come on! It's geology 101!" Weiss pulled a whiteboard out of nowhere and drew colored images of each of the Chaos Emeralds with various gem names around each of them.

"An emerald, by definition, refers to a green gemstone." Weiss explained as Sonic, Ruby, Yang, Blake, and Tails all sat in front of her like they were listening to a lecture. "As you can see, there is only one green gemstone here. A red gem is often called a ruby…"

"Present!" Ruby raised her hand with a smile.

Weiss' eye-twitched before she continued. "A blue gemstone is known as a sapphire. A yellow can refer to as a topaz, a jasper, or even a citrine. A purple gem can refer to an amethyst, though there are sapphires that can have a purple shade to them. A white gem is typically a pearl, but the cut of this Chaos gem suggests that it's actually a diamond. And finally, a turquoise-colored gemstone is also known as a turquoise."

Everyone appeared to be listening to her intently while Tails clapped. "She's actually right."

"Thank you." Weiss smiled.

"But there's also the 'chaos' part to them." Tails stepped in to explain as well. "They're not normal gemstones as they are called Chaos Emeralds. The different colors could refer to their chaotic nature as well."

"Huh…" Weiss thought for a moment. "I never really considered that."

"So… is this going to help us find them or…?" Blake asked.

"Did somebody say Chaos Emeralds?" The group turned around to see a group of five intruders announce themselves, having arrived in the hover bike known as the Marvelous Queen, the one in the middle was Fang the Sniper, with Bean the Dynamite and Bark the Polar Bear riding in the sidecars, with Roman Torchwick and Neopolitan behind Bean and Bark respectively.

"We'll be more than happy to take them off your hands." Fang said with a grin.

"Oh great, it's Fang and the Hooligans." Sonic groaned as the group stood up, ready for a fight. "And he's got two new buddies with him!"

"That's Roman Torchwick and Neopolitan! They're bad guys from our world!" Ruby pointed out.

"That's right, Red. And we're here to cause all sorts of trouble." Roman said.

"Now, hand over those Chaos Emeralds nice and easy, Fleet-Feet." Fang demanded as he pulled out a pistol.

"We don't got them, Fang!" Sonic told him. "But if you really wanna fight, we'll be happy to oblige you!"

"Ah yeah! Fight-time!" Yang smiled. "I call dibs on the big guy!" She was the first to leap forward, gunning straight for Bark as their allies clashed as well. Yang threw a punch to Bark, who caught her fist before she tried to punch with her free hand, but he caught that as well. As she struggled in his grip, he lifted her up. "Come on…! Stop with the grappling and just fight already!" Yang exclaimed, her eyes turning red and her hair lighting on fire as she headbutted him, causing Bark to let her go. He faced her, raising his fists ready to brawl, causing her to grin. "That's more like it!"

A bomb exploded on the ground to send Sonic, Blake, and Weiss flying. The one who threw it was none other than Bean who had a friendly smile as he spun a bomb on his finger.

"Hi Sonic. You made new friends too?"

"Knock it off, Bean!" Sonic scolded.

"But this is our big reunion after so long! Didn't ya miss me?" Bean asked.

"No!" Sonic exclaimed.

"…oh…" Bean seemed hurt by that as he cried, holding his bomb like a teddy bear.

"You didn't have to be so mean." Blake told Sonic.

"Even I wouldn't be that cold." Weiss added.

"Wait for it…" Sonic said.

"WELL I'M NOT GONNA MISS YOU EITHER!" Bean shouted like a maniac, grinning like one as well as he threw a multitude of bombs over the group.

"HE'S CRAZY!" Blake shouted as she, Sonic, and Weiss ran to keep their distance.

"I SEE WHY YOU DON'T MISS HIM!" Weiss screamed.

"TOLD YOU!" Sonic screamed too.

Torchwick aimed his cane at the speeding Ruby, but couldn't get a good shot in. Even with Fang providing assistance by firing corks with his pistol, she didn't take a single hit.

"Can't catch me!" Ruby stuck her tongue out before zipping away from Fang's shots and then went straight for Torchwick, slicing at him with Crescent Rose to knock him back. "Got ya!"

Neo then appeared from behind to pounce on her, creating a cartoonish smoke cloud as the sounds of punching and grunting were heard. It stopped a second later as the smirking Neo stood over a hogtied Ruby.

"Hey! No fair tying me up!" Ruby struggled in her grip.

"Keep her still, Lady Mook." Fang aimed his gun at her, standing on top of his motorcycle. "I can't miss from this range…!" Suddenly, his ride throttled, knocking him back in his seat. "What the…?" He turned around to look in shock to see Tails, having taken the back panel off, and messing with the wires inside. "Hey! What are you doing back there, Double-Butt?!"

"Throwing off your calibrations!" Tails smiled as he pressed the right wires together, sending the Marvelous Queen speeding forward, causing it to slam into Neo. Tails worked to untie Ruby as they saw the Marvelous Queen moving up and down, sideways, and backwards from Tails' sabotage.

"Wow. You really are a genius!" Ruby smiled.

"Thank you. I know." Tails said proudly.

Bean continued to throw bombs at Sonic, Blake, and Weiss. Sonic's own speed and Blake's Shadow Semblance made it difficult for Bean to get a hit in, but the bombs' explosions also prevented the two from attacking back.

"Hey, it's like a game of whack-a-mole!" Bean smiled. "Except I got bombs instead of a hammer, and it's a hedgehog and a girl instead of a mole. So… bomb-a-girl and bomb-a-hedgehog? The first one sounds pretty bad though, like political and sexism type bad…" Bean contemplated as he continued to aimlessly throw bombs.

That is until Weiss appeared and pointed her sword forward, conjuring a Glyph that a bomb bounced off of and was sent back at Bean with explosive results.

"…Back at ya…" Bean said with dizzy swirls in his eyes while he flew through the air and happened to land in the out-of-control Marvelous Queen that just so happened to pass through and was taken for a ride along with Fang and Neo.

"Thanks, Weiss." Blake smiled.

"Now that's what I call a reflective personality." Sonic grinned, causing Weiss to roll her eyes.

At the same time, Yang and Bark continued to pound at each other with nothing but fists. Bark brought his fist down on her head while she slammed hers into his gut. From there it went into a rapid-exchange of punches so fast that it seemed like a blur in-between the pair as their punches intercepted one another almost in perfect sync.

"Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora! Ora!" Yang yelled for some reason.

"Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda! Muda!" The silent Bark thought in is head.

It got to the point where they were just about done. Yang bared her teeth, her hair lighting on fire again as her eyes turned red. Bark bared his fangs as well with a growl before they pulled their fists back and…

*KER-POW!*

They both slugged each other in the face so hard, stars appeared in their eyes as a KO appeared over them, complete with the sound of a bell being run. Yang fell over backwards, flat on the ground, while Bark tumbled over the edge, and landed in the speeding Marvelous Queen, that also just happened to be flying back to catch him as well.

The hover-bike then went straight up and fell back down past the trail that the heroes were all on before crashing down on the one below. When it was done, Fang, Neo, Bean, and Bark all laid on the ground with X's for eyes as the Marvelous Queen was flipped upside down with smoke coming from the underbelly.

"And that's all of em!" Sonic dusted his hands as they all regrouped together.

"Yang, are you okay?" Ruby asked as she helped up her dizzy sister.

"Mom… is that you…?" Yang asked with swirls in her eyes and flickies flying around her head.

"Which one?" Ruby asked.

"Hold on… why do I feel like we're forgetting someone?" Weiss asked aloud.

Perched on a nearby ledge, Roman Torchwick aimed his cane, sniper-style, towards an unsuspecting Ruby. "You think I'm a loser? That I'm not good enough. Well… we'll just see about that, little R…!"

*SMASH!*

Everyone looked up in surprise to see a certain pink Hedgehog with a green puffy shirt, orange skirt, a red hairband, wielding an oversized squeaky hammer, which was somehow strong enough to pound Torchwick into the ground before she sent him flying up and crashing down to where the other knocked out bad guys were.

"It's not nice to hit someone from behind!"

"Amy!?" Sonic and Tails both exclaimed in surprise.

"Who's that?" Ruby asked.

"A friend." Tails answered.

"Sonic!" Amy immediately leapt towards him and pulled him into a tight and choking embrace. "I've missed you soooooooo much!"

"Amy… Can't breathe…" Sonic winced as his face was already turning purple before she let go to address everyone else.

"Hello, nice to meet you all. I'm Amy Rose, and I'm Sonic's girlfriend." She introduced herself with a curtsy bow.

"No, she's not!" Sonic quickly said.

"Hey, my last name is Rose too! Ruby Rose!" The youngest of the Chibi Huntresses spoke up excitedly.

"Oh my gosh! That is so cool!" Amy said as she and Ruby too each other's hands.

"Rose sisters!" They both exclaimed at the same time.

"Awe, that's cute." Yang smiled as even Blake smiled, while Weiss rolled her eyes as she got everyone's attention with a cough.

"Um, now that the enemy has dealt with, can we please get back to the subject on we can find our way back home?"

Suddenly, a device on Tails' person gave an alert, prompting the young fox to pull out a small hand-held device that had the same color scheme as his own dual appendages before popping open the top to get a look at the alert.

"The Emerald Radar has picked up something." Tails' statement got everyone's attention.

"A Chaos Emerald nearby?" Sonic asked.

"No… I don't think it's a Chaos Emerald." Tails replied. "These readings don't match… but if it was picked up by the Emerald Radar… it has to have some kind of dimensional distortion power… and it's remarkably powerful."

"Hey, you don't think it may be that gem that got us here, do you?" Blake asked.

"Maybe… It's too big for us to ignore. We should investigate." Tails said.

"So where is it?" Yang asked.

"According to these readings… it's on Angel Island!"

"Alright, guess we're gonna pay Knuckles a visit." Sonic said with a smile.

"Then the time has come friends! Forward to this, Angel Island!" Ruby declared.

"Hang on, I'm calling in the Tornado!" Tails had already pulled out a remote-like device. Less than a few seconds later, a red biplane had flown itself toward the group and landed on the trail in front of them.

"Yay! Another adventure with Sonic!" Amy cheered as she and everyone else boarded the plane. "And this time, I'm around at the very start!"

Despite somehow holding seven passengers, the Tornado was able to reach the skies as it flew towards the intended destination of Angel Island. However, their departure was noticed by the villains down below as they had recovered from their defeat.

"Oh no… those Mooks aren't getting away from me!" Fang declared as Bark flipped up the Marvelous Queen. Fang then hoped in the main car and checked to see if it was still in working order, which it appeared to be. "Alright! Scarf-Mook, Bomb-Mook, Silent-Mook, Torch-Mook, pile in! We're following them!"

"What is a Mook, anyway?" Bean asked with Neo shrugging in reply as they all got in the three-seated hover-bike, which took off in pursuit of the Tornado.

Meanwhile, on Angel Island, Nora had looked upon the giant and all-mighty Master Emerald with a literal star-struck expression. "Oooh. Big shiny rock…" Nora slowly reached out to grab it, only for Ren to grab her by the back of her shirt and pull her away.

"Nora, do not touch the only thing that's keeping this island and us from plummeting to an all-but-certain death." Ren said as he literally carried her over his shoulder and walked down the stairs.

"Party pooper…" Nora sulked.

"And that's the whole story, Knuckles." Mighty said as he and Ray brought JNPR to Angel Island to explain the situation to them.

"Wow, sounds interesting." The guardian of the Master Emerald said as he took it all in.

"Do you think you can help us then?" Pyrrha asked.

"Yeah, your island is big. I think we can stay here for a little bit, just until we can figure out a way back home." Jaune said.

"Please, Knuckles! You're not gonna turn down somebody who's homeless, are you?" Ray said as he, Jaune, and Nora, all gave him sad puppy dog eyes.

"Of course, I won't." Knuckles accepted with a smile, causing everyone to smile brightly. "Just don't touch the Master Emerald."

"Don't worry Knuckles, they won't touch it…" Everyone looked up in surprise to see Robotnik in his Egg-Mobile with Cinder, Emerald, Mercury, and Tails Doll riding in the back with him. Metal Sonic and Metal Knuckles hovered by his side, along with five new robots. "Cause we'll be taking it off your hands!"

"Robotnik!" Knuckles glared.

"Looks like Cinder and her friends are too!" Pyrrha stated as they all stood ready for battle.

"I'm assuming since they're with Eggman, they're not exactly good." Mighty said.

"No. They are major bad guys! They're always causing us trouble!" Jaune stated.

"Proudly!" Mercury declared.

"And now we got some new friends that'll help us cause even bigger trouble!" Cinder stated.

"Allow me to introduce my newest and deadliest robots to date… the Hard-Boiled Heavies!" Robotnik began to show off his new machines. Each of them had a similar build of having round bodies with arms and legs, but they each had a unique look and weapon to suit their design.

"Heavy Gunner!" First up was the robot that bore a resemblance to a police officer. Its upper body was blue with a golden X at the top and a police badge at the center with a black lower body. It had a motorcycle helmet on with a police siren at the top and carried a rocket launcher.

"Heavy Magician!" Next was a robot with a yellow jacket and a standard black-and-white tuxedo underneath. It also wore a yellow top hat with a red bow tie. It flew with magical sparkles that seemed to emanate around its hands and body.

"Heavy Rider!" The third robot was dressed like a knight with purple, spiked, armor and a grey helmet. It carried a mace in its hands and rode a flying Motorbug.

"Heavy Shinobi!" Then there was the one robot that had an appearance akin to a ninja. It had a green haori with a yellow triangular cross-pattern chest piece, while also wearing a green scarf that acted as a ninja-mask around its face. It carried a set of shurikens in its hands as well.

"And finally… the strongest and leader of the Heavies… Heavy King!" The final robot that stood tall above the others. This one had the appearance that seemed to mix that of a king and a knight, with a red cape flowing from its back. It had armored shoulder pads with red armor reminiscent of Eggman's own appearance and a bronze chest piece in the center with the white crown emblem. It carried a large scepter in its hands which surged with raw energy.

"These five act as commanders for my army. Next to my Metal Boys here…" Robotnik pulled in Metal Sonic and Metal Knuckles for emphasis. "…they are unmatched in power and combat!"

"Yeah, and with us, there's nothing stopping us from getting that fancy Master Emerald!" Emerald stated.

"Hey, I'm in charge of the team, I make the evil declarations!" Cinder berated Emerald.

"I-I just thought that… I should say something." Emerald shyly poked her fingers together. "I mean… my name is Emerald and we're trying to take an actual emerald so…"

"You'll be taking this emerald over my dead body!" Knuckles stated.

"And my dead body too!" Mighty stepped up along with Ray.

"Mine too!" Ray declared.

"All our dead bodies!" Jaune spoke for the rest of Team JNPR who also stepped forward.

"Let's make it a full funeral!" Nora shouted.

"Fine by me…!" Robotnik grinned. "ATTACK!"

With that declaration, the Hard-Boiled Heavies, the Metal Duo, along with Cinder and her team, all leapt forward with Knuckles, Mighty, Ray, and JNPR charging back in response.

As the battle erupted, something else was happening deep beneath their very feet. The Phantom Ruby that had brought them all here was starting to shine. The light fading in and out, but steadily glowing brighter. Soon… it's power would be unleashed.

Done.

And things are starting to pick up with the sub-story. We're introduced to the Hard-Boiled Heavies as they, Eggman, and Cinder's team attack Angel Island, with Knuckles, Team JNPR, Mighty, and Ray ready to fight back. Pretty soon though, Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Team RWBY will join the party, with the Hooligans, Neopolitan, and Torchwick not far behind. And that's when things get chaotic.

But once more, you'll have to wait to find out what happens next as I go back to the main story, starting with the Grimm Eclipse arc.
