Disclaimer: Happy Fourth of July everyone! Looks like things are really heating up on Mobius and it looks like the journey might soon be over as there are now only two Heart Pieces left, but something tells me the last one might not be easy to get. Still, The Mane 6 and their friends don't seem to be slowing down and they seem determined to finish what they started, but maybe we should keep an eye on Twilight. That nightmare she had seemed a bit too real if you ask me and her little talk with Yoda, why would he take interest in Twilight? Looks like we'll find out as the story presses on. Chapter 131: Heart of the Land Part 1: Strange Clouds

In the next world, at the dockyards in London England, many men were getting onto a ship and loading up supplies for their journey to seek out new lands as music started to play in the background as the men were loading up their supplies and the crew.

[Choir]

In sixteen hundred seven,

We sail the open sea!

For glory, God, and gold,

And The Virginia Company!

For the New World is like heaven,

And we'll all be rich and free!

Or so we have been told,

By The Virginia Company!

Some of the men were signing on a ledger, signing up for the journey before walking to the ship while others were saying goodbye to their families, who had come to wish them luck for the voyage as they got on.

For glory, God and gold,

And The Virginia Company!

A second later, a captain was walking towards the ship, carrying with him a small bag with a sword and a rifle on his back, approaching the ship as a couple crew members noticed him, one who is known as Ben and the other was Lon, both seeing him and smiling.

"Hey, is that Smith?" Lon asked.

"That's him alright the old sea dog!" Ben replied.

A second later, a new crew member, a man in his mid twenties, red hair and wearing some old clothing, turned to see who they were talking about, having heard of him.

"Captain John Smith!" The guy said. "I've heard stories about him!"

"Are you coming on this Voyage too?" Lon asked.

"Of course he is you halfwit!" Ben replied. "You can't fight Indians without John Smith!"

"That's right!" John Smith replied, grabbing the rope attached to a cannon, being pulled up with it. "I'm not about to let you boys have all the fun!"

A moment later, a horse drawn carriage arrived and stopped, the guard present forming two lines with spears by their sides to create a protective barrier for Governor Ratcliffe, a man wearing all purple and greedy for riches beyond his dreams, waving to the people as his assistant came out, carrying his dog on a fancy pillow.

On the beaches of Virginny,

There's diamonds like debris!

There's silver rivers flow,

And gold you pick right off a tree!

With a nugget for my Winnie,

And another one for me!

And all the rest'll go,

To The Virginia Company!

It's glory, God and gold,

And The Virginia Company!

A few days later, they were caught in a storm, the wind howling on them as lightning cracked across the sky, rain pouring down on them heavily, the sea turning violent as the crew tried their best to pull the sails in so the wind doesn't go tearing them apart, waves hitting the ship and knocking the crew down as they did their best to keep the ship from sinking. As the sails were coming in, one of the cannons broke loose and the red headed kid who was near them grabbed the freed cannon, holding it as he tried to keep himself steady.

"John!" The kid shouted, getting his attention. "Get down here! The cannons are coming loose!"

Without a moment's hesitation, John leapt to the closest rope he could find and slide down on it, landing on the ships deck and running to the guy holding onto the cannon.

"Reach the top sails!" John shouted, running to the man. "Steady on your course!" He reached the man and helped him get the cannon back to where it was originally, pushing hard on it and tying it up. "It's alright Thomas! We'll get her tied off!""

A second later, a large wave washed over the deck and everyone grabbing onto something to avoid going over, but Thomas wasn't as fortunate, getting dragged by the wave and going over the ship, falling into the sea.

"Help!" Thomas shouted, falling into the sea.

"Man overboard!" The scout in the Crows Nest shouted.

"Stay your course!" Another shouted. "He's lost!"

"Pull the pin!" John shouted.

One of the crew did that, pulling the pin to the sail as he tied a rope around his waist and ran to the edge of the ship, jumping over and diving into the water itself, everyone looking over.

"Are you crazy!?" Ben shouted.

John didn't answer as he swam towards Thomas, reaching him and pulling his head above the water so he didn't drown, the rope breaking off, so the men all rushed towards the ledge for the ship and grabbed the rope, pulling them back towards the ship, which the two men were pulled underneath the surface of the water, the men continuing to pull them up as they breached the waters surface, being pulled up the ship and back onto the deck, the storm finally letting up as the two men fell onto the deck.

"Well, that was refreshing." John said, pulling out Thomas's hat and putting it back onto his head.

"Well done Smith." Lon said.

"Of course." John replied. "You'd all do the same thing for me."

Everyone was hesitant to replied, all nodding their heads, but not having the courage to tell him they didn't have the courage to help him the same way he helped Thomas, lightning cracking in the sky as the Governor came out holding his dog, his assistant holding the umbrella as he walked with him.

"Trouble on deck?" Ratcliffe asked.

"Governor Ratcliffe!" Thomas exclaimed, both he and John Smith getting up.

"Thomas fell overboard sir." John said.

"Thank heavens he's been retrieved." Ratcliffe said, though he didn't look at pleased. "Well done Smith." He then turned and walked down the stairs to address the men. "Don't loose heart men. It won't be long before we reach the new world. And remember what awaits us there. Freedom and prosperity. The adventure of our lives awaits us there! You're the finest crew that England has to offer and nothing, not wind nor wind nor a thousand bloodthirsty savages shall stand in our way! Carry on!"

The men all cheered for the governor as he made his speech, walking away to let the men continue to handle the ship while John helped Thomas finish tying the cannon up.

"This new world is going to be great John." Thomas said. I'm going to get a pile of gold, build me a big house, and if any Indian tries to stop me, I'll blast them!"

"You just worry about that fortune of your Thomas." John replied. "You just leave the savages to me."

"You think they'll give us much trouble?" Lon asked.

"Not as much trouble as Smith will give them!" Ben replied, taking a feather and putting it on a mop head.

He then ducked behind some barrels and waved it around, making Indian noises as the crew played some music.

[Choir]

We'll kill ourselves an Indian...

John cut the mop head off, the mop falling on Bens' head.

[John Smith]

Or maybe two, or three!

He then plunged his sword into a cork on a barrel, pulling it to make the wine run, the men getting tankards and filling them.

[Choir]

We're stalwart men and bold,

Of the Virginia Company!

"What do you suppose the new world will look like?" Thomas asked.

"Like all the others I suppose." John replied. "I've seen hundreds of new worlds Thomas. What could possibly be different about this one?"

It's glory, God and gold,

And the Virginia Company!

As they sung, the ship sailed on, continuing it's journey to it's destination, but little did they realize there was a golden light in the sky, watching them as they continued on their journey, the light following them as they continued. A while later, on the mainland, a rift opened up in the sky and from it, Sonic fell out of the rift, yelling as he fell, landing on his feet as he looked around, seeing he was in the middle of the woods, a large forest with more trees that he's every seen before, whistling as he looked around.

"Wow, kinda reminds me of Earth." Sonic said. "Wait, am I back on Earth? Naw, it can't be. Where are all the cities and streets?"

A moment later, he heard drums beating in the distance, wondering what it was, he zoomed over and saw a small village where Native Americans were collecting food, fishing, making clothing, repairing their huts, going about their basic everyday life as the drums continued to beat, another native blowing a horn to let them know something was coming.

[Natives]

Hega hega, ya-hi-ye hega,

Ya-hi-ye-ne-he hega!

Hega hega, ya-hi-ye hega,

Ya-hi-ye-ne-he hega!

Steady as the beating drum,

Singing to the cedar flute!

Seasons go and seasons come,

Bring the corn and bear the fruit!

The women collecting the food and heard the horn, everyone getting their baskets and rushing towards the river, everyone waving as they saw their warriors coming home, riding their boats back to the village.

By the waters sweet and clean,

Where the mighty sturgeon lives!

Plant the squash and reap the bean,

All the earth our mother gives!

Oh, Great Spirit, hear our song,

Help us keep the ancient ways!

Keep the sacred fire strong,

Walk in balance all our day!

In the village, everyone heard the horn blow, all knowing what that meant as they ran to the river, eagerly awaiting for them to arrive.

Seasons go and seasons come,

Steady as the beating drum!

Plum to seed to bud to plum,

Hega hega, ya-hi-ye hega!

Steady as the beating drum!

Hega hega, ya-hi-ye hega,

Ya-hi-ye-ne-he hega!

The chief got off his boat, walking to his people as his warriors got off their boats, everyone welcoming them home as he approached the village elder, who seemed very happy to see him.

"Welcome home Chief Powhatan." The elder said.

"It's good to be back home Kekata." Powhatan said. "Chestame, the Mamomics have been defeated. With the help of our brothers, our villages are safe again!"

Everyone in there village cheered, happy to hear the great news, the chief smiling to his people as he turn to Kekata.

"Your return has brought much joy today." Kekata said. "Look at all the smiling faces."

"Yes, but there is one smiling face I don't see." Powhatan said. "Where is my daughter?"

"You know Pocahontas, she has her mother's spirit." The elder replied. "She goes wherever the wind takes her. But, there is something I need to talk to you about."

"What is wrong?" Powhatan asked.

"Come, I'll show you." Kekata replied. He walked back to the huts, the chief walking close behind and entering as Kekata threw some powder in, smoke coming out and making images appear in the smoke. "The spirits have told me of an imbalance within our land."

"An imbalance?" Powhatan asked.

"Strange creatures have been appearing in the woods." Kekata replied, Heartless and Nobodies appearing in the smoke. "They have kept their distance, but our warriors tell us they are not hostile to us. They appear to be looking for something."

"What are they looking for?" Powhatan asked.

"I am uncertain what it is they seek." Kekata replied. "But I am certain it is something dangerous."

"Whatever it is, we cannot allow them to find it." Powhatan said. "I must address my people." He walked out and went towards the podium, standing before his people as they gathered around. "My people, we faced a determined enemy! The battle lasted from the rising of the sun until the evening shadows fell. Our warriors fought with courage, but none fought as bravely as Cocoum!" The crowd cheered as the elder used his hand to make a bear paw on the warriors chest. "He fought with the strength of the bear and has proven to be the best of the warriors here!"

In the distance, his daughter Pocahontas arrived with her friend Nakoma, joining the crowd.

"Oh, he's so handsome." Nakoma said.

"Especially his smile." Pocahontas added.

"He destroyed every enemy in his path." Powhatan continued. "And tonight, we feast in his honor!" The crowd cheered for the chief and for Cocoum, everyone excited for the feast when Pocahontas pushed through the crowd to her father, hugging him. "My daughter."

"Wingapo father." Pocahontas replied.

"Seeing you again brings me great joy." Powhatan said.

"I'm glad you've come home safely father." Pocahontas replied.

"Come with me." Powhatan said, moving his daughter. "We have much to talk about. And I would like to hear everything you've been doing."

They entered the hut, where the chief took his headdress off and handed both it and his staff to his daughter.

"Father, for many nights now, I've been having this very strange dream." Pocahontas said. "I think it's trying to tell me something. Something exciting is about to happen. Something exciting."

"Yes, something very exciting is about to happen." Powhatan replied, taking his headdress from his daughter and putting it up.

"Really, what is it!?" Pocahontas asked excitedly.

"Cocoum has asked for your hand in marriage." Powhatan replied, surprising his daughter.

"Marry Cocoum?" Pocahontas asked.

"I told him it would make my heart soar." Powhatan replied.

Pocahontas gave a nervous smile, walking to the door and pushing the curtain back, looking out to see Cocoum and the kids, the kids wanting to play with him, but he didn't.

"But he's so... serious." Pocahontas said, not liking the idea.

"My daughter, Cocoum will make a fine husband." Powhatan replied. "Especially in these dangerous times."

"Dangerous times?" Pocahontas asked.

"Kekata told me of strange creatures lurking in the woods." Powhatan replied. "They are searching for something and I want you to have someone who can protect you if I'm not there for you. He is strong, loyal and he can build you a hut with steady walls. With him, you'll be safe from these creatures and from anything wishing to harm you."

"But father, my dreams are pointing me down another path." Pocahontas replied.

"This is the right path for you." Powhatan replied.

"But father, why can't I choose my own path?" Pocahontas asked.

A moment later, a raccoon fell from the roof, wearing her father's headdress and chuckling, letting the little guy go as she put the headdress away.

"Pocahontas, come with me." Powhatan said, walking out with his daughter following him. "You are the daughter of the chief. It's time you take your place among our people. Even the mountain stream must take its place with the big river."

He stopped in front of the river, smiling as his daughter stood next to him.

[Chief Powhatan]

As the river cuts his path,

Though the river's proud and strong.

He will chose the smoothest course,

That's why rivers live so long.

They're steady as the steady beating drum!

He then pulled out a necklace, presenting it to Pocahontas.

"Your mother wore this on our wedding day." Powhatan said, putting it on his daughter's neck. "It was her dream to see you wear it on your wedding day. It suits you."

After her father walked back to the village, Pocahontas walked over to the river and sat down, the raccoon that was in the hut before running up to her as a hummingbird flew over, looking at the necklace as Sonic rushed into the bushes, keeping out of sight.

"He want's me to be steady." Pocahontas said. "Like the river." Music started to play again, Sonic looking around to see where it was coming from, watching as she got into the kayak as a couple of river otters shot out, scarring the raccoon, the Hummingbird and Sonic, laughing as they swam away. "But it's not steady at all."

"I'll say it isn't steady." Sonic replied, making Pocahontas look at him and get up.

"What?" She asked. "What are you?"

"More like who and I, is what you mean?" Sonic asked, getting up. "I'm Sonic. Sonic the Hedgehog. And I heard what your dad said. You seem more like the adventurous type, like me."

"Well, I guess I am." Pocahontas said, looking to the river. "And I am not as steady as the river at all."

[Pocahontas]

What I love most about rivers is,

You can't step in the same river twice.

"Hey wait!" Sonic said, Pocahontas dragging him into the Kayak, which he gripped the edges of it as he froze, the princess rowing out into the river.

The water's always changing, always flowing,

But people, I guess, can't live like that,

We all must pay a price.

To be safe, we lose our chance of ever knowing,

What's around the riverbend!

Waiting just around the riverbend!

I look once more,

Just around the riverbend,

Beyond the shore!

Where the gulls fly free,

Don't know what for!

What I dream, the day might send,

Just around the riverbend.

For me,

Coming for me.

They then came to some falls, Sonic still frozen as he gripped the kayak as if his life depended on it.

I feel it there beyond those trees,

Or right behind these waterfalls,

Can I ignore that sound of distant drumming?

A moment later, some fish fell and hit Sonic on the head, making him yelp as he fell backwards, giving Pocahontas a dirty look as he didn't seem to enjoy the trip.

For a handsome sturdy husband,

Who builds handsome sturdy walls

And never dreams that something might be coming?

Just around the riverbend,

Just around the riverbend.

A second later, Sonic saw they were coming up on a waterfall, Sonic's blood going cold.

"POCAHONTAS!" Sonic shouted, holding onto the Kayak.

I look once more,

Just around the riverbend,

Beyond the shore!

"HELP!" Sonic shouted. "She's crazy!"

Somewhere past the sea,

Don't know what for!

Why do all my dreams extend,

Just around the riverbend?

Just around the riverbend!

They then came to a fork in the road, so to speak, two rivers splitting up as Sonic was lying on his back, clutching his heart as he hated the whole trip, trying to breath as he got up, seeing the path that was calm and smooth while the other was was moving fast and was zig-zagged.

Should I choose the smoothest course?

Steady as the beating drum?

She then looked into the water, weighing her options as she remained in the middle of the river.

Should I marry Kocoum?

Is all my dreaming at an end?

Or do you still wait for me, dream giver,

Just around the riverbend?

She then moved down the crooked path, continuing to row until they reached what appeared to be a weeping willow, going into it and landing on the mound of earth the tree was on, Sonic getting off and falling to his knees, shacking like he was cold.

"Are you alright Sonic?" Pocahontas asked.

"Lady, you're crazy." Sonic said, getting up. "Why'd you pull me into the kayak and bring me with you? I can't swim!"

"Oh, sorry." Pocahontas said. "I just need to talk with Grandmother Willow."

"Who?" Sonic asked, watching as the princess climbed up the tree, so the hedgehog jumped up onto the wooden platform, wondering what was going on.

"Is that my Pocahontas?" A woman's voice asked, freaking Sonic out.

"Who said that!?" Sonic asked, looking around. "Who's there!?"

"Grandmother Willow, I need to talk to you." Pocahontas replied.

Sonic looked to the tree, watching as a face appeared on it, making the hedgehog back away and fall into the water, splashing around in a panic!

"Help!" Sonic shouted. "I can't swim!"

"Oh quiet down you big baby!" Grandmother Willow replied, using her vines to pick him up and setting him down. "A little water isn't going to hurt you."

"Yeah, tell that to the guy who can't swim." Sonic replied, shaking the water off.

"Grandmother Willow." Pocahontas said.

"Good morning child." Grandmother Willow replied. "I was hoping you would visit today. But I didn't expect you to have a friend with you as well. Oh, and you're wearing your mother's necklace."

"That's what I wanted to talk to you about." Pocahontas said. "My father wants me to marry Cocoum."

"Cocoum?" Grandmother Willow asked. "But he's so serious."

"I know." Pocahontas replied. "My father thinks this is the right path for me. But lately, I've been having this dream and I think it's the path I need to take."

"Oh a dream!" Grandmother Willow replied. "Let's hear all about it." As she said it, all the animals started to go crazy, making it difficult to hear her. "Quiet!" The animals didn't listen as they kept making noise, fumigating Grandmother Willow. "QUIET!" As she shouted, all the animals became silent, allowing the tree to hear Pocahontas. "Now child, you were saying?"

"Well, I'm running through the woods and then, right there in front of me is an arrow." Pocahontas replied. "And then, as I'm starring at it, it starts to spin."

"A spinning arrow?" Grandmother Willow asked.

"Sounds kinda odd if you ask me." Sonic said, crossing his arms.

"Yes, quite unusual." Grandmother Willow said.

"Yes, it spins faster and faster and faster until suddenly, it stops." Pocahontas replied.

"Hmm, well, sounds like this spinning arrow is pointing you down your path." Grandmother Willow replied.

"There's more." Pocahontas added. "In my dream, the arrow is pointing me towards the sun, which there was someone standing there, talking to me."

"Talking to you?" Grandmother Willow asked. "What did he say?"

"Well, I believe he said, my friends are on their way." Pocahontas replied. "He then turned to me, but his face was covered by shadows, the sun was behind him, so seeing who he was difficult. All he said was, find the vessel, find the piece of my heart, and find my friends."

"Hmm, interesting." Grandmother Willow said.

"Grandmother Willow, what is my path?" Pocahontas asked. "And how will I find it?"

"Heh, your mother asked me the very same question." Grandmother Willow replied

"She did?" Pocahontas asked. "What did you tell her?"

"I told her to listen." Grandmother Willow replied. "There are spirits all around you, child. In the Earth, the water, even in the sky. If you listen, they will guide you."

They listened, both Pocahontas and Sonic and as their did, they heard singing, Sonic not understanding a word of it, but listened anyway, mesmerized by the song.

"I hear the wind." Pocahontas said.

"What does it say?" Grandmother Willow asked.

"I don't know." Pocahontas replied, the wind blowing around them.

[Grandmother Willow]

Que que na-to-ra,

You will understand.

Listen with your heart,

You will understand.

"Wow, freaky." Sonic said.

Let it break upon you,

Like a wave upon the sand.

"Something's coming." Pocahontas replied, opening her eyes. "Strange clouds?"

Listen with your heart,

You will understand.

[Voices of the Wind]

She then started to climb up Grandmother Willow, Sonic running up the tree and reaching the top before she did, both reaching her top and seeing the sails from the ship.

"What do you see" Grandmother Willow asked.

"Clouds." Pocahontas replied. "Strange clouds."

Outside of the world, coming out of Warp Space, the Harmony was making it's way to the world, which was a massive Forrest with a large river, a beach, and the wind blowing with colorful leaves flying around, the willow tree on the bottom of the world as everyone looked out of the cockpit.

"Here we are, the next world." Maya said.

"It's beautiful." Fluttershy said. "Reminds me of the North American Ice Age."

"It does have some resemblance to it, doesn't it?" Shining Armor asked. "Let's hope we don't run into a giant whale again."

"You're telling me." Rarity said. "I had to take several baths just to get the stink out."

"Well let's get down there then!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed. "What's the next riddle?"

"Hold on, let me check." Twilight replied, reaching in and pulling out the book, flipping to the next chapter as it appeared. "Chapter eleven: Heart of the Land. Adventure awaits, but greed is high, prevent a war before all will die. At dawn of light when a war is about to commence, spoken words from one he loves will end the war, breaking through one's hate that is dense."

"Wait, so we need to stop a war from happening?" Applejack asked. "How the hay are we supposed to do that?"

"I don't know, but if we're going to prevent this war, we better get down there now." Twilight said.

"Agreed." Maya replied. "I'll take Twilight for this one and a couple others. The rest of you, stay here."

"Well I'm going down there." Rainbow Dash said. "Might need a fast flier to look around and get the lay of the land."

"And I'll go as well." Fluttershy said, surprising them. "If there are little critters down there, they might be able to help us find the Heart Piece if it's down there."

"Then we best hurry." Maya said. "We need to get down there before anything happens."

Maya got up and walked to the center of the cockpit, raising her Keyblade and surrounded them in light, sending them to the planet's surface and passing through the cloudy sky, landing in the forests and at the edge of an open landing, looking around to see the massive trees around them, marveling at them.

"Wow." Rainbow Dash said. "These trees are massive!"

"Yeah, kinda reminds me of the Redwood National and State Park Spyro took me to." Maya said. "Said it is home for some of the tallest trees in the world. Spyro always loved nature and he always wanted to go there. Dude is such a nature nerd."

"Yeah, tell me about it." Rainbow Dash said. "He's one of the biggest geeks I know. Dude's as smart as Twilight, if not smarter."

"Look, something's coming." Fluttershy said.

They all looked out into the distance and saw some boats rowing to shore, so they all ducked behind some bushes, looking out and watching as the boats were moving to shore, landing and seeing John, Thomas, Ben, and Lon, all of them coming off the boat they were on and looking around, taking in the sights right as Pocahontas arrived, she and Sonic above them as they all looked down.

"Who are they?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Pioneers." Maya replied. "Adventurers looking for new lands to take and settle. This complicates things."

They watched as John Smith started climbing a tree, ducking down so he didn't;t see them, but Fluttershy watched him climb, interested in him as she watched him climb while the others watched the rest of the crew pull the ship in, tying it off to make sure it didn't float away. "If they're here, then it will make looking around for the Heart Piece difficult."

"So, we should avoid them?" Twilight asked.

"Yes, we avoid them." Maya replied. "And let's just hope none of them have it."

"I hereby claim this land, and all of its riches, in the name of his majesty, King James I." Ratcliffe said. "And name this settlement, James Town."

The men from the ship all cheered, everyone making sure not to be seen as John made his way back down the tree, everyone watching them.

"Great, this guy." Maya said.

"Who?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"Ratcliffe." Maya replied. "Spyro told me about this guy. A power hungry and very greedy governor who cares more about gold than his own life. He would visit worlds and observe the populace, despite Master yen Sid telling him not to. He told me this guy is someone we should avoid at all costs."

"So how should we go about looking for the Heart Piece then?" Twilight asked.

"Well, if I'm right, this guy will start digging for gold right at the landing sight." Maya said. "Spyro says this guys so greedy, wherever he goes, he digs for gold."

"But, gold isn't found near ocean or sea waters." Twilight said. "It's usually found in hydrothermal deposits and near mountain ranges."

"He doesn't know that." Maya replied. "Gives us the advantage. We can look deeper inland and avoid them. All we need to worry about are the Natives, who aren't exactly trusting of outsiders. Get down!"

They ducked right as Ratcliffe walked towards them, John sitting on a rock loading his rifle as he approached.

"Well Captain Smith, it appears I have selected the perfect location." Ratcliffe said. "Not a savage in sight."

"Just because we can't see them, doesn't mean they're not out there sir." John replied.

"Well, then perhaps you should venture out and determine their whereabouts." Ratcliffe suggested. "Make sure there aren't any around."

"If there are any Indians around, I'll find them sir." John replied, taking his helmet and leaving.

As he walked away, Fluttershy watched John Smith walk away, watching him, but as he walked by, she saw something shine across his neck, seeing something glow for a moment, making her eyes grow wide with surprise.

"Alright, here's the plan." Maya said. "We leave here and find the natives, come to an agreement for safe passage within their land and we start searching for the Heart piece."

"You sure we can trust them?" Rainbow Dash asked. "Didn't you say they don't trust... wait, where's Fluttershy?"

They looked around to see where the yellow Pegasus was, finding she was no longer with them, making them worry.

"Seriously?" Maya asked. "I know she likes nature, but now is not the time to go exploring an unknown world!"

"Rainbow Dash, think you can find her?" Twilight asked.

"No problem." Rainbow Dash replied. "Be back ASAP."

She then took off, leaving Maya alone with Twilight as they watched Ratcliffe and his men unload the ship and they their equipment and supplies.

"Now, you men get the remaining supplies out." Ratcliffe said. "You men, chop down some of these trees and build us a fort. The rest of you, break out the shovels! We got some digging to do."

"Digging?" Ben and Lon asked.

"Called it." Maya whispered.

"Of course!" Ratcliffe replied. "Let us not forget what the Spanish found when they came to the new world. Gold. Mountains of it. Why, for years they've been ravaging the new world of its precious resources." He then plunged his sword into the table, hitting the map. "But now... it's our turn."

Music started to play as a song was coming n, the men gathering around.

[Ratcliffe]

The gold of Cortés,

The jewels of Pizarro,

Will seem like mere trinkets,

By this time tomorrow!

The gold we find here,

Will dwarf them by far!

Oh, with all ya got in ya, boys,

Dig up Virginia, boys!

Mine, boys, mine ev'ry mountain,

And dig, boys, dig 'til ya drop!

Grab a pick, boys,

Quick, boys,

Shove in a shovel,

Uncover those lovely,

Pebbles that sparkle and shine!

It's gold and it's mine, mine, mine!

He took out a pistol and fired it, the men setting off to get to work.

[English Settlers]

Dig and dig and dig and diggety,

Dig and dig and dig and diggety

[Wiggins, Ratcliffe, English Settlers]

Hey nonny nonny, hiy nonny nonny (Dig and dig and),

Oh, how I love it!

Hey nonny nonny, hiy nonny nonny (Dig and dig and)

Riches for cheap!

Hey nonny nonny, hiy nonny nonny (Dig and dig and)

There'll be heaps of it!

[Ratcliffe]

And I'll be on top of the heap!

My rivals back home,

It's not that I'm bitter,

But think how they'll squirm,

When they see how I glitter!

The ladies at court,

Will be all the twitter!

The king will reward me

He'll knight me ... no, lord me!

It's mine, mine, mine,

For the taking!

It's mine, boys,

Mine me that gold!

With those nuggets dug,

It's glory they'll gimme,

My dear friend, King Jimmy,

Will probably build me a shrine!

[Wiggins, Ratcliffe]

When all of the gold...

[Ratcliffe]

Is mine!

[English Settlers]

Dig and dig and dig and diggety,

Dig and dig and dig and diggety-dig!

Further inland, John Smith was walking through the forest, marveling at the view.

[John Smith]

All of my life, I have searched for a land,

Like this one!

A wilder, more challenging country,

I couldn't design!

Hundreds of dangers await,

And I don't plan to miss one!

In a land I can claim,

A land I can tame,

The greatest adventure is mine!

[Ratcliffe]

Keep on working, lads,

Don't be shirking, lads!

Mine, boys, mine! (Find a mother lode)

Mine me that gold! (Then find another load)

Gold! (Dig, dig and diggety)

Beautiful gold! (Dig, dig for that gold)

[Ratcliffe, English Settlers]

Make this island,

My land!

Make the mounds big, boys! (Dig)

I'd help you to dig, boys,

But I've got this crick in me spine!

[John Smith]

This land we behold!

[Ratcliffe]

This beauty untold!

[John Smith]

A man can be bold!

[Ratcliffe]

It all can be sold!

The gold (We know which is here)

Is (All the riches here)

Mine! (From this minute this)

Mine! (Land and what's in it is)

Mine! (Dig and dig and diggety)

[English Settlers]

Hey nonny nonny nonny, it's mine!

At the end of the song, Ratcliffe plunged the flag into a massive mound of dirt, smiling to himself as he was contempt with everything he was doing, Maya and Twilight continuing to watch, making sure they weren't noticed. At a waterfall, John Smith had arrived at a river with clean water, stopping at it and reaching down, cupping his hands to wash off the sweat when he heard something sneeze, looking back to see the leaves rustling, so he took his rifle out and slowly approached, moving the bushes aside to reveal Fluttershy, who was covering with her hooves over her eyes, looking up at him before covering her eyes again, surprising the captain as he put his rifle away.

"Well, aren't you a strange little thing." John said, reaching his hand out, but Fluttershy shuffled away from him. "Hey, it's alright, I'm not going tot hurt you." She uncovered her eyes and looked to at the captain, seeing how sincere he was and got up, slowly approaching him and letting him pet her, which she enjoyed and smiled at him. "See, I'm not going to hurt you. Now, I wonder what you are."

"Oh, I'm a Pegasus." Fluttershy replied.

"WHAT THE-" John Smith exclaimed, falling backwards and into the water, looking at Fluttershy with surprise.

"Oh, I'm sorry." Fluttershy replied, hiding behind her mane. "I-I didn't mean to scare you."

"You... can talk?" John Smith said, getting out of the water. "That's..."

He then looked into the water and found they were being watched, quickly grabbing Fluttershy, which she squeaked in surprise, jumping behind the waterfall, getting his rifle out, putting some powder in it and lighting the fuse.

"W-what's going on?" Fluttershy asked.

"Indian." John replied, blowing on the fuse.

They looked to the waterfall and saw the outline of a person, Fluttershy shaking in fear as john SMith got ready to pull the trigger, jumping through the waterfall and leaving her to hide behind the wall of water, poking her head out to see what was happening and saw that John Smith was starring at Pocahontas, putting his rifle down as he took his helmet off, getting into the water and walking towards her, wanting to talk when a streak of blue hit him, dropping him into the water and making him cough.

"You're too slow!" Sonic exclaimed.

Pocahontas took her chance and ran for it, Sonic running behind her as they ran away, John Smith getting out of the water and coughing.

"Wait!" John shouted, running after her. "Please wait!" Without thinking, Fluttershy jumped out from behind the waterfall and followed them, keeping up with the man as they reached a tree, watching as the Indian woman got into a kayak with Sonic onboard, pushing out to flee. "Please!" Pocahontas looked back, Sonic glaring at John Smith, but he put his rifle down, Fluttershy right behind him as they saw she was getting ready to flee. "Don't run off." He then slowly approached her, Fluttershy right behind him, which Pocahontas seemed to notice her and take interest, looking back at John Smith, but still fearful of him. "It's alright. I'm not going to hurt you."

"He's telling the truth." Fluttershy replied, surprising them. "He's very nice."

"And now we have talking ponies." Sonic said, shocking them. "This place gets weirder and weirder."

"What... are you?" John asked.

"I'm a hedgehog." Sonic replied. "Sonic the Hedgehog to you pal."

"Well, hello Sonic." Fluttershy replied. "I'm Fluttershy."

"Here, let me help you out of there." John said, which Pocahontas started speaking her native language, confusing him. "You don't understand a word I'm saying, don't you?" He held his hand out, showing him he meant no harm. "It's alright."

Pocahontas moved her hair away, looking at John Smith and felt her heart beat quickly, feeling like there was something about him she liked as she reached her hand out, the spirits singing their song as leaves and small lights appeared out of nowhere, swirling around them as John helped Pocahontas out, Sonic and Fluttershy watching as the leaves danced around them while symbols appeared around their hands as they held them, a purple light appearing on John Smith's neck, revealing it was the symbol, shocking Fluttershy as she had found the symbol already.

"Pocahontas." She replied, surprising them.

"What did you say?" John asked.

"My name is Pocahontas." She replied, surprising the captain.

"I'm John Smith." John replied, the two of them sitting together while Sonic and Fluttershy looked at one another, walking over and sitting with them.

Back at the makeshift settlement, members of Pocahontas's tribe were watching the settlers, taking count of how many there were while Maya and twilight remained hidden from both the settlers and from the Indians, not wanting to be spotted.

"Great, this gets better and better." Twilight said. "Now what? How are we supposed to find the Heart Piece if we're in the middle of this mess?"

"Best thing to do is not get spotted and not to interfere with their affairs for the time being." Maya replied. "We need to-"

"That's it lad's keep, keep digging." Ratcliffe said, making them duck for cover. "It's got to be here somewhere."

Not to far away, a scout made a bird sound, gesturing how many there were before spotting maya and Twilight, gesturing to them again what he saw."

"There is thirty more down by the ridge, plus one above them in the bushes with a pony." The second scout said.

"That makes more than a hundred of them." Cocoum said.

"Anything yet?" Ratcliffe asked.

"Nothing but rock and dirt sir." Thomas replied.

"Idiots." Maya said. "They won't find anything here. It's further inland like you said Twilight."

"Maybe we should get out of here before we're spotted." Twilight suggested.

"Good idea." Maya replied.

They then started to move away from the area, staying low as to not be spotted, but a moment later, they heard what sounded like a dog whine, Maya looking over as a rifle made a loud bang, a bullet to narrowly miss her, just cutting her cheek and making her fall backwards, both she and Twilight running for cover behind a tree for cover as another bullet hit the tree.

"What the hay was that!?" Twilight shouted.

"That would be a musket." Maya replied, making water appear from the air and move on her cheek, healing the cut. "When discharged, they release a bullet and anything in its path either gets shredded and dies, or inflict serious pain and damage."

They looked out and saw that it was complete chaos as musket rifles were going off, trying to his the Indians as the Indians got their bows out and released arrows, each side exchanging fire at one another, both Maya and Twilight staying behind cover to avoid the exchange of fire when Ratcliffe spotted another scout, aiming his rifle and firing, hitting his leg and dropping him as he fell from the trees, hitting the ground and making a sound of utter pain.

"Malinec!" Cocoum exclaimed, running to him.

"Maya, we need to get involved." Twilight said.

"No, we can't." Maya replied. "This is the affairs of this world, we can't get involved."

A second later, Ben attempted to finish the Indian off, raising the butt of his musket to finish him, but Cocoum grabbed the musket, pushing back and overpowering Ben, but a second later, multiple voids opened up and multiple Archravens and Scrappers appeared, surprising them.

"Now can we get involved?" Twilight asked.

"Now we can get involved." Maya replied.

Cocoum managed to overpower Ben and kick him away, picking up his fallen comrade and looking back to the other scout.

"Back to the village!" Cocoum announced.

"Look out!" The scout exclaimed.

A second later, a Scrapper lunged for him, making Cocoum drop his friend and wrestle with the Scrapper, which seemed to be stronger than him as his nails got closer to the Indian as he tried to push back, loosing strength in his arms.

"Strike Raid!" Maura shouted. The Scrapper looked to it's right and was sliced in half, the creature screeching in pain before disappearing, Cocoum looking to where the weapon came from when Maya leapt over him, slashing through an Archraven and cutting across another Scrapper, keeping it busy as Twilight unleashed a bolt of magic, hitting another Scrapper before summoning her Keyblade and engaging with the Unversed, leaving Cocoum confused. "Don;t just sit there! Get your friend and get out of here! We'll cover you!"

Not waiting for her to say another word, Cocoum picked his friend up and carried him back to the village, Maya unleashing a whirlwind of water and sending the Unversed away, giving herself and Twilight enough time to escape as the settlers cheered for their victory.

"Shut up." Ratcliffe said. "Shut up you fools! They'll be back. Get the fort finished and finish up unloading the cannons onto the shore!"

"Ay Governor." Ben replied, the Governor stopping at Thomas, who looked unhappy having made a fool of himself.

"And you!" Ratcliffe said. "Learn to use that thing properly. A man's not a man unless he knows how to shoot."

"Aw, cut the kid some slack." A voice said. "It's his first time being in a fight after all."

Ratcliffe turned around and before him stood Pete, smiling at him as he approached.

"And who pray tell are you?" Ratcliffe asked.

"The names Pete." He replied. "And I'm here to help you with your Indian problem."

"So you say." Ratcliffe replied, giving another sailor the empty musket. "And what will it cost me for your aid?"

"Oh, nothing much." Pete replied. "Just a little something called a Heart Piece."

At the village, everyone was gathered around the hut where their fallen friend was in, looking in to see him in pain as the elder used his traditional medicine and ways to heal the wound while Powhatan was there with him, looking at the warrior.

"These beasts invade our shores and now this." Powhatan said, looking at the warrior.

"these wounds are strange to me." Kekata said, the warrior groaning in pain.

"But not to me." Maya replied.

They looked to the door and saw Maya enter, the warriors on guard, but the chief held his hand up, stopping them.

"Who are you?" Powhatan asked.

"My name is Maya." She replied. "I can help your friend."

"And why should we trust you!?" Cocoum asked, ready to strike, but Powhatan held his hand up, stopping him.

"I've seen this wound before." Maya replied. "I can heal him."

The warriors looked to their chief, which he nodded his head and got up, letting Maya approach as Twilight was about to enter, but Maya held her hand up, stopping her.

"Stay outside Twilight." Maya said. "This won't take long." Twilight nodded her head, understanding what was asked of her as the curtains closed, maya kneeling down to him and seeing how much he was sweating and how much pain he was in, gently moving him to see the wound on his leg, seeing the damage. "He's lucky he has a large amount of muscle mass. Otherwise the bullet would have caused more damage than what I'm seeing. I need some warm water, now."

A moment later, an elderly lady came by with a dish of warm water, everyone wondering what she was going to do with it when Maya moved her hands, the water responding as it lifted into the air, surprising them as she moved the water onto the leg, the warm water moving into the wound, making the warrior gasp as the wound opened up, pushing the bullet out and cleaning the wound before moving over it. A moment later, the water fell to the ground and the wound was closed, everyone looking to her with wonder and fear,

"How is this possible?" Kekata asked. "The spirits obeyed you."

"I can command the power of water." Maya replied. "I can use water magic to heal and to harm."

"However you use it, you have our thanks my friend." Powhatan said. "But as for our new enemy, we will fight them, but we will not do it alone. Cocoum, send messengers to every village in our nation. We will call on our brothers to help us fight them." He then looked to the crowd, everyone looking to him as Maya came out, fearing the worse. "These white men are dangerously! No one is to go near them. Maya however is welcome in our village as a friend. The rest of the white men, be wary of them."

The villagers dispersed, some going back to collecting food while others went to get some defenses up, Maya walking over to Twilight as they feared the worst.

"What now?" Twilight asked.

"The arrival of the Unversed is a bad sign." Maya replied. "They feed off of negative energy from negative emotions. Fear and hate are powerful emotions with a lot of negative energy. As Spyro once said, fear leads to anger, anger leads to hate, and hate leads to suffering."

"So how are we going to prevent this war from happening?" Twilight asked.

"I don't know." Maya replied. "All we can do now is wait. Let's hope Rainbow Dash finds Fluttershy before things get worse. Otherwise, we're in for one nasty fight."

Maya walked back into the hut to check on her patient, leaving Twilight alone outside to look around, seeing the fear in the peoples eyes, understanding what was happening.

"Much fear in this village, there is." Yoda said, making twilight look around. "And much anger. Hmmmmmmmm."

"Yoda?" Twilight asked. "Where are you?"

"Here with you, I am." Yoda replied. "Yet, as well, not with you. To the river, come. To talk there, continue we will."

Twilight looked around, finding the river near the village and walked over to the steady body of water, hoping to get some help from her new friend.
