A couple days into Leon's time home, he realized that he hadn't had the film in his camera developed yet and started blushing.
"Oh no... Mum is not gonna let me live this down when she sees that picture," Leon said to himself while thinking about the picture with Hermione kissing his cheek.
Leon sighed and wrote to Hermione urgently, warning her that he was about to get the pictures developed. Afterwards, he went down stairs to see his mum. "Mum, can we go get the film from my camera developed?" he asked hesitantly.
Robin smiled. "Of course we can, sweetie."
When they got the film developed, Robin gushed over how cute the one picture in particular was, making sure to get two copies. Leon kept his copy, and asked his mum to use the resizing spell so he could put it into his locket, feeling happiest about that picture in particular, even if he didn't understand why himself. The other picture he had resized to go into the locket was a picture of him and Harry, because he always wanted to keep his friend whom he saw as his baby brother close to him.
After making it back home, Leon asked his mum to teach him legilimency, since she had already taught him occlumency before he went to school, knowing that it would be a good building block for all his studies being able to clear his mind and protect it from prying eyes.
Robin smiled at the thought Leon was putting into things. "Of course I will teach you. Just know legilimency is much more difficult to master than occlumency, Knowing this, do you still want to learn?"
Leon got a big proud smile and replied, "Obviously, Mum, otherwise I wouldn't have asked. I know it is a whole other beast compared to what I've already learned."
With that being said, Robin spend the rest of that month teaching Leon legilimency, which he was having trouble with, but could at least use a crude version by the time they went on vacation with the Grangers'.
While on the plane going to France, Leon sat next to Hermione, and the two seemed to zone everything else out like they happened to do on the train to and from school.
"So Hermione, what are you looking forward to the most during our trip?" Leon asked happily.
Hermione smiled. "Oh, that is a good question. Maybe the art museums, or seeing a musical."
"Oh, that is a good idea. I haven't been to see a musical in a while now. It will be so fun seeing one being sung in French," he replied, getting excited.
Hermione nodded. "I have been studying French for years. It's my second language at this point. I was honestly surprised to find out you speak French, since I already knew you spoke both English and German."
Leon chuckled. "Oh, I wouldn't say it like that. You give me too much credit. I only know enough French to get by. I understand it all right, but actually, speaking is a bit hard for me."
Hermione giggled, and their conversation kept up like this until they landed in Paris, where they spent their first week taking in the sights and visiting what they could. Hermione and Leon had to admit their favorite spot they visited was the newly opened Disneyland Paris, which while there, they learned by overhearing a couple of employees talking that Walt Disney himself was a wizard. Learning that information made sense as to why they had dragons and other magical elements in his movies.
After their last day in Paris, they spent the next three weeks going south through France, seeing everything they could, until they made it to the Pyrenees mountains. Leon took a second to reflect, then began to explain to Hermione about Beauxbatons Academy of Magic.
"Fun fact about the school: I actually almost attended there instead of Hogwarts," Leon said with a chuckle.
Hermione shocked looked at Leon. "Really? So we almost never met?"
Leon nodded somberly. "Had I accepted to go to Beauxbatons, I fear that I would have never got to meet you, which would have been dreadfully sad." He took Hermione's hand into his own.
Hermione squeezed his hand back. "Well, you decided to go to Hogwarts instead, so we did get to meet and become the best of friends."
This made Leon smile and feel better. "You're right; I made the right decision in going to Hogwarts. I get to be with the best friends I could ever ask for, and I get to experience what it is like to learn from some of the same teachers as my mum."
At the end of the trip, Leon and Hermione got the pictures they took on their trip developed, then embraced before they parted ways, going back to their own homes.
When Leon got home, he spent the rest of the summer practicing legilimency and guitar, since he had bought one back in France, his first guitar being in Germany at his grandfather's home. He wanted one he could have with him at home and at Hogwarts, if McGonagall would allow it and not confiscate it from him. With the time he had left to him, he learned several Muggle songs that he enjoyed and a few that were by wizards in hiding, thinking about the school year ahead and how eager he was to see Harry again.
