Chapter 2: Welcome
So I have things I would like to add about this story. So the Scarlet and Violet Arc is first, then the DLC Teal Mask and Indigo Disk Arc, then the Legends Arceus Arc. The Scarlet and Violet characters will be adventuring with Ash in the Legends Arceus Arc. Once the new Pokémon game "Legends Z-A" comes out, this story will be based on Ash Ketchum's adventures in the next fanfic that will be dedicated to Legends Z-A.
Why did I bring the DLC characters in early from chapter 1? Well, I wanted to write my own plot for them. Carmine and Kieran and the Blueberry Academy Elite Four have an after school program with Naranja Academy. But there will be changes which will be plotted in chapter 3.
Last thing you might be wondering, why is Liko from Pokémon Horizons the villain in this story? Well, she'll be getting a redemption arc. But for now, I wanted it to be more entertaining. Roy and Dot and the Rising Volt Tacklers will be in this story soon though.
Anyway, enjoy chapter 2.
At Team Rocket Headquarters.
Giovanni, the leader of the Team Rocket Organization, is seen sitting on his chair in his fancy Team Rocket desk with his Persian. He has assigned Jesse, James, and Meowth to go spy on Ash and his Pikachu along with capturing Pokémon at the Paldea Region.
"Jesse. James. Meowth. It has been a long time since Ash and his Pikachu have set out on recent adventures. You are to capture any pokémon from Paldea and wherever else Ash Ketchum travels to. But don't come back without his Pikachu. Is that understood."
"Yes, Boss!" Team Rocket and Meowth said.
"Good. In exchange, I will reward you with equity. Getting paid with lots and lots of money.", Giovanni mentioned.
"You mean will be rich?! Happiest day of our lives!!", Meowth yelled. "Come on guys! Let's go!"
"Good luck", said Giovanni. He snickers afterwards.
Meowth dashes out of Giovanni's office. Jesse, James, and Wobbuffet do the same.
"Wait for us, Meowth!"
"Team Rocket all the way!!!"
"Wobbu-Wobbuffet!"
At the Paldean Airport, Ash and Pikachu arrive.
"We did it, Pikachu! We've landed."
"Pika-Pika!"
Outside of the airport, Ash and Pikachu are waiting for their ride.
"HEY ASH!"
A voice was heard near a taxi. It was a girl and she was waving at them. Ash and Pikachu run up to her and wave back. "Hello, there!"
"Hi Ash. We've read all about you. I'm Nemona! Nice to meet you!"
"So you've heard of me?! Cool! I'm Ash alright. And this is my partner Pikachu."
"Pikachu." Pikachu says hello.
Nemona was fascinated by Ash's Pikachu. "Ooohh!! A Pikachu! He's adorable!" Nemona pets Pikachu, but it cause Pikachu to do an electric shock on her and Ash.
"Pika-PIKACHU!"
"WWAAAHH!!!"
"NOT-A-GAIN!"
Nemona and Ash look fried after Pikachu shocked them.
"Pikachu, I love ya buddy, but I hate when you do that..."
"I see this has been happening everytime..."
In the taxi, Ash and Nemona are bonding. "So your obsessed with Pokémon battles too? Awesome! I love Pokémon battles!" She brings her fists up with stary eyes. "Wow! Someone who loves Pokémon battles as much as me! So amazing." Ash was surprised someone had a similar personality that he had when it comes to Pokémon battling. "Yep. And I've been training my Pokémon for years."
"I can't wait to see your Pokémon"
Nemona giggled at Ash Ketchum's response. "You totally will."
At The House of Cabo Poco.
Clavell is waiting around outside for Ash and Nemona. They both arrive at the house.
"It seems you two have made it", said Clavell.
Ash Ketchum introduces himself to Director Clavell. "Hello there! I'm Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town-" Clavell interrupts Ash's introduction. "I know who you are, Master Ash. You are a very strong trainer and champion of the Ala and Galar regions." Ash wasn't expecting to be famous in a new region he's never been to before, so he's suprised. "I am! I'm very glad that you know me."
Clavell introduces Ash to Nemona, but in further explanation on who Nemona actually is. "I see you have met Nemona. She is actually the president of our council and high-ranked Champion."
Ash started getting very speechless. He was shocked that he started moving his hands around and walk around in circles. "I'm sorry... your what?! Your actually- NO! That can't be...! What...?! Your serious??!!"
Nemona laughs at Ash'a reaction to her being Champion. "Yeah! I'm Champion of Naranja Academy! And in order for you to take my title, you have to go up against some gym leaders and elite fours."
Ash has dealt with this before in all regions, so this shold be easy for him. "I've been there, done that. This will be a piece of cake."
Clavell was impressed by Ash's confidence. "I see. Very well. But before you begin to even start your adventure, you must have a starter Pokémon."
"And what starter Pokémon would those be?", Ash asked.
Clavell claps his hands. This makes three Pokémon assemble in front of Ash.
"Quax! Quaxly!"
"Fuecoco!"
"Spriga! Sprigati"
"WOWEE!!! Who are those Pokémon?!"
Ash uses his pokédex to scan the new Pokémon for data.
Quaxly, the Duckling Pokémon, a Water Type. Its gel absorbed from it's feathers repels water and grime which is why it has a watery substance on its head shaped like a hat.
Sprigatito, the Grass Cat Pokémon, A Grass Type. Sprigatito's scent is said to be as more powerful and greatly scented then a Bulbasaur's.
Fuecoco, the Fire Crocodile Pokémon, A Fire Type. This Pokémon has a melody of a singing voice along with its evolutions. It sings whenever its in a mood or when its happy.
"And there is more Pokémon to be discovered. But for now, you must choose one of these three and choose wisely.", Clavell says.
Ash walks back and fourth while looking at the three Pokémon. He doesn't know where to begin. But because of the color of his causual clothing, it appeared to be Fuecoco who caught his eye. Ash eventually points at Fuecoco and makes his final decision by saying, "That one. Fuecoco. I'll be taking him."
Clavell was very humbled to hear that Ash picked Fuecoco. "As I was about to pick a fancy Pokémon like that, it is understandable that Fuecoco has caught your attention."
"Fue?"
Ash crouches down to Fuecoco. "Wanna be my partner?"
Fuecoco cried tears of joy and hugged Ash. It would be happy to be Ash's Pokémon.
"FFFUUEEE!"
"Okay. Okay. Welcome to the team."
"Pika Pika..."
Pikachu couldn't even comprehend how silly Fuecoco is.
Ash stands back up and takes out a spare pokeball. He positions himself to throw it at Fuecoco. "Pokeball go!" He throws the pokeball towards Fuecoco. The pokeball succeeds catching Fuecoco.
"Yes!!! I caught a Fuecoco!"
"PIKA PIKA!"
Clavell and Nemona do an encore for Ash.
"Hooray, Ash!", Nemona cheered.
"Way to go. Well done, Ash. Now before we continue, Nemona, you get to pick one of the two Pokémon."
Nemona walked over to Sprigatito and picked it up. "I like the grass cat one. It's smells so sweet and is so adorable. I must catch it."
Nemona says, "Boop." as she boops Sprigatito in the nose with a pokeball and Sprigatito goes in it. Nemona successfully caught Sprigatito. She was so happy to have Sprigatito in her team.
Nemona jumps with excitement before saying, "You know what this means now?! A Pokémon battle! Meet me at the beach, where the battlefield is, okay?!"
"You got it!", Ash responded. "I can't wait for an epic Pokémon battle. I would love to even have multiples!"
Clavell had an akward face after hearing that. It was like there are two Nemonas he's dealing with now. "So you are intrigued with Pokémon battles as much as she is?! You two will get along just fine I assure you."
"Definitely!"
"Now then, onto the battlefield."
At the battlefield near the beach. Ash and Nemona position themselves to stand against each other before preparing their Pokémon. Clavell explains a rule before they start. "I only have one rule to this. And that's to have only two Pokémon in your roster. Two on two, winner takes all. Now begin!"
"Ready for this, Ash?! Because your about to go down!", Nemona said, while sending out her pokeball out of her pocket.
"You bet I am! I'm gonna win this! Fuecoco, I chose you!"
Ash sends out Fuecoco.
"Co! Fuecoco!"
"Pawmi, do your best!", Nemona shouted as she sends out Pawmi.
"PAWMI!" Pawmi was prepared for battle.
"What's a Pawmi?", Ash wondered. He scans Pawmi with his pokédex.
Pawmi, the Mouse Pokémon, an Electric Type. Pawmi may look similar to Pikachu, but it's fur makes it more recognizable. It's electricity also pulsates from the pads on its paws, so please proceed with caution or to much friction will zap you.
"That's a very cool Pokémon! You sure that's not a Pikachu imposter!" Ash laughs after making that joke.
Ash joke made Nemona crack up laughing. "Hahaaha! You are too funny, Ash! But nope, Pawmi is something more incredible. Pawmi, let's show them what we mean! Use Thunder Wave!"
"Paw-Paw!"
Thunder Wave from Pawmi charges at Fuecoco.
"Fuecoco! Attack through the Thunder Wave using Fire Spin!"
"Fuecoco!"
Fuecoco does a spinning technique with Fire Spin through the Thunder Wave and reaches Pawmi. Pawmi has been his by Fire Spin. Pawmi was burned.
"Wow! Nice going Ash!"
"Thanks! Fuecoco's moves are definitely amazing!"
Nemona smiled. "Alright Pawmi! Use Electro Web!"
"Paw-Pawmi!"
Pawmi flips around and throws an Electro Web at Fuecoco. Fuecoco is trapped and gets shocked by Electro Web. "Now use, Thunder Fang!", said Nemona.
Ash smirked. He had a idea for his strategy. "Use Ember!"
Fuecoco spits out a firey Ember and it breaks through the Electro Web. "Now dodge it!" Fuecoco dodges the Thunder Fang.
"Now use Stomping Tantrum!"
Fuecoco does a critically agressive Stomping Tantrum. It's super effective and it overwhelms and strikes down Pawmi.
"Now Tera Blast!!!"
Fuecoco fires a beam of Tera Blast from its mouth.
"Pawmi! Use Tera Blast, too!", Nemona said. Pawmi fires its Tera Blast from its forepaws.
The Tera Blasts collide with each other and struggle. Both Nemona and Ash yell "GO!" as the Tera Blast is trying to won over the other. Fuecoco's Tera Blast overpowers Pawmi's and hits Pawmi.
"PAWMI?!"
Pawmi falls to the ground and faints.
"Pawmi is unable to battle.", said Clavell. "Fuecoco is the winner."
"YEAH! ALRIGHT! Did you see that, Pikachu!"
"Pika!", Pikachu responded, standing next to Ash.
Nemona was filled with joy to see a worthy challenger. "Incredible work, Ash! I didn't think you had that strategy with the Fire Spin though."
"It's just one of my "Ash battle strategies" that I use in battles!", said Ash. "That's how I became champion of two regions."
Nemona nods her head, understanding Ash's Pokémon battle skills. "Pawmi, return." Nemona recalls Pawmi. "Go Sprigatito!"
Sprigatito spawns from its pokeball. "Sprig!"
Ash was so excited to battle against another new Pokémon.
There it is. Sprigatitio! It looks so amazing!
"Fuecoco, return!", Ash shouted, recalling Fuecoco. "Pikachu, your up! I choose you!"
"Pikachu-Pika-Pika!" Pikachu jumps into the battlefield.
Nemona grins at Ash. Ash gasped. "You really think you can win that easily. Because it's time to show you how Paldea really works!", Nemona says. She takes out a spherical crystal.
Ash was left with feeling intimidated seeing what Nemona holds on her hand. "Ww-www-wwha-what is that thing?!"
"It's a Tera Orb!", she explains. "It Terastralizes Pokémon in the form of Pokémon Types. If you even sync the crystal type with it's Pokémon Type, not only will it get super effective, but it makes the physical attack stronger. Just watch this."
She activates the Tera Orb. "Sprigatito, may your beauty shine within you." The shiny glow has her flinching and closing her eyes a bit. She eventually throws the Tera Orb at Sprigatito. "Terastrialze!"
Sprigatito was in a dominant stance, prepared for Terastrialization. As the Tera Orb lands on Sprigatito, crystals form around it. At first Ash and Pikachu's faces look awful as if the crystal must've crushed Sprigatito. But then, a green crystal, which looks like a Grass Type for Sprigatito, shines around Sprigatito's body. It looks like it's wearing flowers on its head. This takes Ash and Pikachu's breath away. They don't have words for how wonderful Sprigatito looks.
"Oh, wow! Sprigatito looks beautiful..."
"Sprigatito!", said Sprigatito in a respomse of saying thank you.
"Okay, Sprigatito! Use Leafage!"
Sprigatito does what Nemona commanded and crystals sprinkled on to of it before using Leafage. "Spriga-Sprig!"
"Pikachu, dash through it using Quick Attack!", Ash tells Pikachu.
"Pika-Pika-Pika-Pika-Pika-Pika...!"
Pikachu Quick Attacks Sprigatito, knocking it back.
"Impressive!" Nemona said, putting her hands together. "But never underestimate Terastrialzation. Use Energy Ball!"
"Spprrriiigggaaa!!!"
Sprigatito hurls an Energy Ball at Pikachu. Pikachu is damaged."
"Pikachu!!!" Ash starts getting worried.
"Way to go, Sprigatito!"
"Sprig!"
Ash grunts a bit. He wasn't expecting Terastrialization to be that powerful.
Pikachu struggles to get back up but eventually stands up successfully.
"Are you alright Pikachu?", Ash asked Pikachu.
"Pi...Pika..!"
"Alright, the use Electro Web!"
Pikachu throws an Electro Web at Sprigatito.
"Nice try! But that won't work! Use Scratch!"
Sprigatito jumps up the air and uses multiple Scratches on Electro Web. Ash felt overwhelmed by this. "What...? But how?!" Ash gets his head back in the game, however. "Pikachu, use Iron Tail!"
"Pika-Pika...!"
Pikachu jumps and prepares his Iron Tail.
"Dodge it!"
But Sprigatito does as Nemona says and dodges the Iron Tail. Pikachu swimgs down his Iron Tail with his bolt tail and hits the ground.
"Use, Copycat!", said Nemona.
Sprigatito saw the vision of Pikachu using Iron Tail and jumps up to prepare an Iron Tail.
"Pikachu, get out of there!!", Ash cried.
But Sprigatito was quick and swings its Iron Tail down at Pikachu in the head. Pikachu faints after that. "Pikachu!"
"Pikachu is unable to battle. So the winner goes to Sprigatito.", Clavell annoucned.
Ash picks up Pikachu and lays him down on the sand. "Get some rest. You did great out there." Then he walks back to the battlegrounds. He brings out a pokeball and spawns Fuecoco. "Fuecoco! I choose you!!"
Fuecoco jumped up and down, feeling excited to battle. "Fue-Fue-Fuecoco!", it chanted.
"Fuecoco, looks determined, I see.", says Nemona.
"It is! And we're going to win!"
"Good luck! Sprigatito, use Energy Ball!"
"Sprrriggaa Sprig!"
Sprigatito's Grass Type Tera Form sprinkels crystals again then Sprigatito shoots an Energy Ball at Fuecoco. Energy Ball hurtles toward Fuecoco. Ash takes a deep breath. He then shouts to Fuecoco, "Use Ember!" But Fuecoco did something more surprising. Instead of using Ember, it sprays out huge fire from its mouth as a result of Flamethrower. "Fffuuueeeeccccooooocccccooooo!!!"
The Flamethrower flames out Energy Ball and sparys on Sprigatito. It's super effective and leaves a burn on Sprigatito. This shocks Nemona. She couldn't believe her eyes. "WOW! That's so epic! Your Fuecoco learned Flamethrower!"
"But I just got this Pokémon... What gives?"
Clavell squintes his eyes and looks closely at Fuecoco. He gasps and widens his eyes as he realizes Fuecoco made a mysterious aura bond with Ash.
It seems that Fuecoco sees something in Ash. But what could it be? And why? What do you see in your trainer, Fuecoco?
"I don't know what it is... but it's awesome!", Ash stated. "You know what? I'm proud that you can learn Flamethrower, now Fuecoco! Keep it up!" Ash has supported Fuecoco. Fuecoco smiles. "Fue-co!"
"This battle isn't over yet, use Copycat!", says Nemona.
Sprigatito envisions Flamethrower and uses it against Fuecoco.
"Uh oh.", said Ash. "Dodge it!"
Fuecoco dodges the Flamethrower from Sprigatito by running around in circles. Sprigatito follows Fuecoco with Flamethrower in circles. Eventually Sprigatito couldn't keep up and loses stamina.
"Use Flamwthrower again!"
Fuecoco fires another Flamethrower.
Nemona puts her finger on her chin. "Hhmm." Then she had an idea for Sprigatito. "Sprigatito!" Sprigatito looks at Nemona. "Sprig?", it responded. "Do the same thing Ash did with Fuecoco. Dodge it by running around in circles!" Sprigatito nods its head in response. "Sprig!" Sprigatito runs around in circles until Fuecoco couldn't keep up. "Now jump!" Sprigatito jumps. "Use, Energy Ball!", says Nemona.
"Spriga-ti-to!" Sprigatito fires an Energy Ball at Fuecoco. It hits Fuecoco, but it was not very effective. "Are you alright?!", Ash asked Fuecoco in worry. Fuecoco quickly gets back up and responds. "Fue!" "Good!", said Ash. "Now finish this with Fire Spin!"
Fuecoco uses Fire Spin around Sprigatito.Sprigatito tries to look for a way out. "OH NO! Sprigatito, No!", Nemona cried. "Now Flamethrower!", Ash said. Flamethrower wtih a mixture of Fire Spin burns on Sprigatito. Sprigatito's Terastrialization breaks and then it staggers and faints. "Sprigatito!!!"
Clavell smiles at Ash winning and adjusts his glasses. "Sprigatito is unable to battle. Fuecoco is the winner. Which means the victory goes to Ash."
"WE DID IT!", Ash yelled. Fuecoco runs to Ash and gives him a hug. Ash gives Fuecoco a hug back. Pikachu joins in the hug. "Hahahhahaha! Both of you did amazing out there!"
Nemona cried tears of joy. Then she wipes her tears away. She really enjoyed that battle. "That was such a grand battle! I never had a battle like that in years. Sprigatito, return." Nemona recalls Sprigatito.
Ash recalls Fuecoco. "Now get some rest." Nemona walks up to Ash. "How did you do it? You don't even have a Tera Orb yet?", Nemona asks, being curious. "I don't know. All I know is, Fuecoco must be a fast learner", Ash answered.
"Perhaps I can explain", said Clavell. "Your Pokémon might have aura bonded with you. I don't know how or why, but it seems Fuecoco is rather interested in you."
Ash scratches his head. "Huh. That explains why it learned Flamethrower that quickly."
"If you don't mind me asking, what were the last Pokémon you bonded with along with that much aura?"
Ash thinks about that question for a second. He gets flashbacks of his battles with Froakie, Forgadier, and Greninja. He remembers battling Sawyer's Mega evolved Secptile and Alain's Mega X Charizard with Ash Greninja. He also remembers the battles he experienced with Lucario back at the Galar Region.
"Greninja and Lucario were my aura bonds. But I didn't think Fuecoco felt that connection with me like they did. Especially Greninja. Maybe Fuecoco is trying to help me achieve being a Pokémom Master further."
Clavell and Nemona grew more curios. They are starting to understand why Ash was getting better at battles to become a Pokémon Master. "Maybe it's just a love for your Pokémon phase.", Nemona said. She shrugged her shoulders after saying that.
Ash chuckled. "Yeah. I think your totally right. Anyway, ready for another battle?"
Nemona jumps with excitement. "I'd never thought you'd ask! Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!"
Pikachu was not ready for another battle after being exhausted.
"Now now, you too. I know you two love battles, but don't you think your Pokémon need some rest?", Clavell pointed out.
Ash, along with Nemona, looks at his Pikachu who is exhausted from battle. "Sorry, Director Clavell", they both said.
Clavell chuckles and is happy to see Nemona found someone who has something in common with her. He then points at something up the roof that he sees. "You two, look!"
Both Ash and Nemona go, "Huh?" After looking up. There seems to be two giant creatures up the roof of the house. One was a Scarlet colored monster. The other was a Violet colored creature in the form of an iron-looking serpent.
"Could they actually be?!"
"Have they been watching us battle this whole time?"
The two creatures leave. Clavell reaches out his hand shouting, "Wait!" But they already left.
"Who were they?!", asked Ash. "They looked cool!"
"Those were Koraidon and Miraidon. Hmm. Nemona, you've studied these creatures with Arven. Why don't you take Ash and welcome him to Naranja Academy. While you get there, you can explain to him the legendary Pokémon of Paldea on the way. I'll catch up. I just have to talk to Ms.Briar on the phone about something."
Nemona gives Clavell two thumbs up. "Right!"
Both Ash and Nemona take a stroll together. "So, Miraidon and Koraidon are legendary Pokémon, aye?! Sounds new to me!", says Ash. "Of course you think that. Now allow me to explain."
At Naranja Academy.
All of the students are outside of the stadium, having fun doing Pokémon battles and talking about other things.
"And that's why you can't trust her!" Arven is explaining to Carmine about Liko. Carmine doesn't believe it one bit that she laughs at Arven. Arven gets upset. "What's so funny?! It's true!"
"Look. You and your Paldean outsiders can fantasize about evil villains all you want, but I still see Liko as a sweetheart. And most importantly, someone I shall fall in love with."
Liko walks up out of nowhere. "Why hello there."
Carmine jumps after Liko started talking. "GAH!"
Liko was startled a bit that she scared Carmine and heard her scream. However, that scream was ringing in Liko's ears. "Ooof! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you."
"No no no! Your fine! I was just...! How much did you hear?!"
"How much did I hear of what...?"
Carmine blushes and panics in a romantic way, without showing it to Liko. It seems Liko didn't hear what Carmine was saying about her, so she shrugs that thought off her head. "Oh... nothing important!"
Liko made an akward look. "Erm... alright then... Anyway, have you seen my pendant? You know, a crystal looking one that has a shape like Terapagos's shell?"
Carmine and Arven looked at each other before answering Liko's question. They didn't know Liko wore a pendant. They then look back at Liko. "No. We haven't seen a pendant.", Arven answered.
"Darn it! Where was the last place I had it?!" Liko was getting frustrated about misinf her pendant. "Gosh Arceus darn it!!! WHY??!!! First I never wore my pendant to school, then I bring it and wear it to school, then I lose it and can't find it??!!! Gggrrr!!! I need that pendant!!! My grandmother gave it to me!!!"
Carmine calmed down Liko from spiraling by gently petting her head. "It's okay, Liko. I promise, you'll find your pendant", she told Liko in a soft voice. "Now retrace your steps. Where was the last place you had it."
Liko thinks for a second about where she put her pendant. "Well... I was in the cafeteria. And I was showing everyone my pendant. I took it off of my neck and show them so... I obviously abandoned it on the table. So in that case when I walked back and it was gone—" Liko gasped in terror coming to a conclusion. "It must be stored away in the lost and found!!!"
Arven looked at Liko was disbelief in his eyes. "Tch! Why exactly do you really care about that pendant? Is it for your legendary Pokémom status?"
Carmine rages at Arven. "ARVEN??!!" Arven was scared shooketh. He smiles in sarcasm. "Hehe...! I was just kidding...!"
Screaming and panicking can be heard moments later from the students. They all see two adults in white clothes with a Meowth and a Wobbuffet standing in the pokémon battlefield. Liko, Carmine, and Arven go up front to go see what the commotion is all about. They walk up front to see the two people and Meowth and Wobbuffet.
"Who are those guys?" Arven asked.
"I don't know", says a random student. "But they look very scary", another student said while quivering in terror.
It was Team Rocket who were prepared to their introduction line.
"Prepare for trouble! People of Paldea, bow down to us."
"And make it double! Surrender your Pokémon now. There is no need to fuss."
"To protect our world from devastation."
"To unite all people within our nation!"
"To denounce the evils of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
"Jesse!"
"James!"
"Team Rocket blasts off at the speed of light!"
"Surrender now or prepare for a Paldea Regional fight!"
"Meowth, that's right!"
"Wobbuffet!"

All of the students run away. Carmine, Liko, and Arven stand their ground. Carmine steps up against Team Rocket. "Hey, Team Bozos! Your messing with the wrong trainers in the wrong academy!"
"How dare you try to step to us?! You think you can get rid of us?!", says Meowth. "We are here to capture any of your Pokémon! And we won't let brats like you get in our way of that!", Jesse said.
Carmine was a bit offended when Jesse called her a brat. "Oh! A brat? How dare you? Looks like it's time to teach you outsiders some manners."
Jesse, James, and Meowth gasped in terror as they were offend by the insult of being called outsiders. "Is that a challenge??!!", James questioned. Carmine confidently smirks and flips her hair. She puts the one hand on her hip. "Indeed it is a challenge. So get ready to eat dirt."
Liko made a tiny blush. She didn't know Carmine had this much confidence in herself. Arven facepalmed and was scared for Carmine. The so called "Team Rocket" people looked scary as heck. "Wow. She knows what she's doing, doesn't she, Arven?" Arven couldn't stand what Liko was saying. "Are you kidding?! Those guys do not look friendly!!!"
"Poochyena, let's go!" Carmine sends out Poochyena.
"Poochyena."
"Well, well, well. I have missed this. To bad the twerp and his Pikachu won't be here to see this.", said Meowth.
James gets a ringing noise from his Rotom Phone. "Our boss, Giovanni is texting us."
"What does it say?", asked Jesse.
The the four groups read the text message.
Sorry, Jesse, and James. But we are having issues with the Pokémon dispenser machine, so you won't be able to pick random Pokémon for anyone who dares to oppose you in battle. Maintenance will be quick as possible by tomorrow. But for now, use Meowth and Wobbuffet to your advantage. Good luck, and don't fail me.

Jesse and James sigh in a bit of despair. "That's our boss alright.", says Meowth. "But hey, I haven't battle in years! Neither has Wobbuffet! Let us out there!"
"Even if we could Meowth, we-" before Jesse could finish her sentence, she sees Meowth and Wobbuffet looking at her and James with puppy dog eyes and while wimpering.
"Fine... Meowth and Wobbuffet, go ahead."
"YAY!"
"WOBBUFFET!"
Jesse and James look at each other and nod their heads. They then focus on the battle. "I have Meowth!", says James. "My Wobbuffet is ready!", said Jesse.
Carmine liked where this was going. A double battle was about to be played. "In that case... Poltchagiest, make me proud!" Carmine also sends out Poltchagiest.
"Poltchagiest!"
"What the heck is that thing?!", James asks making a weird face. "I dunno, but that thing looks like a ding darn looking Polteagiest.", said Meowth, answering James's question.
Team Rocket scans Carmine's Poltchagiest with their pokédex.
So this is Poltchagiest. The Motcha Tea Pokémon or whatever... It's part Grass and Ghost Type. That thing can absorb... I guess your soul if you drink its Motcha Tea... along with its evolution named Sinistcha. It's weird. Its from a place further away from Paldea called Kitikami... dunno what that place means though.
"Strange. So it's a Paldean relative of Polteagiest and Sinistea", said Jesse. "No matter! We'll win this battle once and for all!"
"Alright, Poochyena, use Bite on Meowth! Poltchagiest, use Astonish on Wobbuffet!"
"Pooch!"
"Poltcha!"
Poochyena and Poltchagiest charge with their attacks at their opponents.
"Meowth! Use, Fury Swipes!"
"You don't have to tell me twice.", says Meowth.
Poochyena's Bite and Meowth's Fury swipes clash with each other. However, Fury Swipes gets the upper hand on Poochyena and damages it. Wobuffet endures the hit from Poltchagiest's Astonish.
"What?! How can this be?!", Carmine wondered.
"It seems your Pokémon aren't strong enough.", Jesse says tauntingly.
"Ready to surrender now?!", asked Meowth.
"Nope! Poochyena use Tackle on Wobbuffet! Poltchagiest, use Astonish again!"
Both Poochyena and Poltchagiest jump in and use their attacks on Jesse's Wobbuffet. An explosion occurs.
"YES!", Carmine thought. Then she sees that the smoke has cleared and Wobbuffet still endures the hits.
"Wobbuffet."
Carmine, Poochyena, and Poltchagiest gasp.
"My turn.", said Jesse. "Wobbuffet, use Counter."
"Wobbu-Wobbu!"
Wobbuffet gives Poochyena a super effective hit from Counter and critically hits Poltchagiest with Counter. Both Poochyena and Poltchagiest fainted. Carmine felt crushed by her loss in this battle. "Poochyena! Poltchagiest! My precious beauties!" She frowns and recalls her Pokémon.
"Hahahaha!!! We won!!! And you lost!", says Meowth, teasing Carmine. "You did great out there!" James was supporting Meowth. "Why thank you, sir." Jesse supported Wobbuffet. "You too, Wobbuffet!" Wobbuffet did a salute pose. "Wobb!"
"Now surrender your Pokémon, young lady! Or de we have to make you?"
Liko walked up to them. Arven decided to stand back and watch. "Hey! Step away from my friend!" Carmine looked up and saw Liko protecting her. "Liko, you don't have to-" But Liko interrupted her before she said anything. "No! I'm not going to let these pathetic clowns mess with you like that."
Meowth didn't like what Liko was calling the team one bit. "You dare call us clowns?!" Liko smiled maniacally at Team Rocket and decided to insult them further. "Of course. I mean, what are these two anyway. Some stupid crafty pink-hair designed weird lady and a man with wierd purple hair in the clothes of the letter R on it? Heh! Weird!" Carmine smiled a bit. She's thinking about Liko and how she's standing up for her.
Aaaww. She's defending me. So cute. And her insulting a bunch of bullies! So adorable! I can't stand her! If only I told her how I feel about her though, then maybe we'd be a couple. Darn it! Don't think about that now, Carmine! Focus on what Liko might do next.
"We don't appreciate your snarky attitude, you girl twerp!", says Jesse.
"Whatever", Liko grumbled. "Anyway, you have one warning, leave or there's consequences."
"How dare you threatened, us!", Jesse questioned. "You don't even have a strong Pokémon to fight for you!", James yelled.
Liko got triggered by the fact that she doesn't have strong Pokémon. "So that's what you think...?", she said quietly. She talks out the Moon Ball and speaks to Moon, the Lunala, who is inside the Moon Ball. "They aren't listening to our warning, so I think it's time to amplify the pain, Moon." Liko spawns Moon from her Moon Ball.
"Screeaaarrraaa!!"
Carmine was dazzled by seeing such a Pokémon like this.
Jesse, James, Meowth, and Wobbuffet are terrified. Arven's trauma is triggered again from his Mabostiff losing to that Lunala.
"Is that Lunala, the legendary Pokémon of the Alola Region?!" Meowth yelled. "And you nicknamed it, Moon?!", asked James.
"Yes. And now you two will pay.", said Liko.
"Wait! We can give you money! We can pretend this never happened!" Meowth tries to bribe the way out with money for Liko, but she does not approve of and or not buying it.
"Nah. I'm good. Now suffer. Moon, use Moongeist Beam!"
Moon soars up a bit in the air. It does a very epic dominant pose with its wings. A symbol that represents half a moon and an eye has lighten on Moon's forehead. A spiral powerup in front of Moon forms into a beam. The Moongiest Beam blasts at Team Rocket. Team Rocket screams in terror. "AAAAAGGGHHH!!!" A huge explosion occurs and Team Rocket is sent flying. "Well that could've gone any worse.", said Meowth. "You think??!!", said Jesse. Team Rocket then says, "We're blasting off again!!!" before disappearing into the sky.
"Good job, Moon. Now return." Liko recalls her Lunala. She turns over to Carmine and asks, "Are you alright?"
Carmine gave Liko a big hug. "Your my hero!!!" Liko was felt like thag was akward to hear that but accepted it anyway and gave her a hug back. "Your welcome." As they break away from the hug, they see Arven's reaction to the "Moongiest Beam" attack. His jaw dropped again only for Carmine to lecture him again about that.
"Did I not tell you, it's rude to do that?!"
But Arven didn't almost really respond to what Carmine said, but instead passed out. "Oh dear. Looks like that dude needs a nurse" Liko laughed at Arven passing out after saying that. "Yeah. But anyway, you and I need to like, totes hang out. Maybe like go on a da- I mean friendly outing!!! Friendly outing was what I was implying! Hehehehe!" Carmine saved herself from saying it's a date since she's still keeping her crush on Liko a secret.
"Of course! I just need to go retrieve my pendant."
An announcement from Naranja Academy airs.
Beep. Boop. Bop.
Attention all students, because of the Team Rocket terrorist attack incident that just occured a while ago, even though some heroes saved us from them, whoever they are, thank you, Naranja Academy is closed early which means you have a half day today. And it's Friday, so as long as you've did your assignments, have your fun on the weekend. However, this also means the lost and found room is closed. So you must retrieve your missing and or lost items by tomorrow and Sunday, 6 AM to 6PM. Thank you, goodbye, and have a great day.
"Darn...", said Liko. She's upset that all of this happened so quickly. Carmine was feeling sympathy for Liko. "Poor girl. If I were to lose something and it takes forever to get it back, I'd be sad too. Don't worry about it, okay? You will totally get your pendant. Your okay..." Carmine comforts Liko. Liko felt a little bit better that Carmine is there for her. "Thanks Carmine. Say, let's go somewhere to eat."
"Sure!", Carmine responded.
The two walk together to find an exit from the academy, leaving Arven behind.
At Naranja Academy, Ash and Nemona arrive. They see Ms.Briar standing there.
"Ms.Briar! I'd like you to meet someone!"
Ms.Briar turns around. "Oh! If it isn't Ash Ketchum himself...?!"
"That's me!", says Ash. "Is that Naranja Academy! It's so amazing!"
Ms.Briar nods, agreeing with Ash. "It is, isn't it. Unfortunately it's closed early."
"Closed early?" Ash laughs. "Wait what?!"
"Why is that?", asked Nemona, who's now concerned.
"A terrorist attack happened just minutes ago. They go by the name, Team Rocket I presume...? However, according to what Penny saw, Liko showed bravery and excellence in defending our academy. Me and Clavell have also decided to give her a three day weekend anyway for her hard work and studying."
Ash had like three questions he needed to ask. "Okay, one, Team Rocket was here?! Two, how did they get here?! And three, who is Liko?!"
Nemona wanted to address to Ash that Liko was a bad person, but she didn't want to address anything in front of Ms.Briar so she kept her mouth shut. Ms.Briar answers Ash's questions. "It's interesting how you know Team Rocket, but to answer your first two questions, I don't entirely have a clue. Liko, however, is a person who is willing to become a Pokémon Master someday. Just like you." She points her finger towards Ash's chest. "But anyway, have fun and welcome to Paldea and Naranja Academy. Todeloo, Ash!" Ms.Briar leaves.
Ash is interested in finding out what Ms.Briar meant by another Pokémon Trainer like him striving to become a Pokémon Master. "Liko wanting to become a Pokémon Master? Like me? Where can I find her?"
Nemona grabs Ash's hand to walk him up to Naranja Academy's hotel rooms while making sure he gets his mind off of Liko for now. "Uh, hehe. You'll find out who she is later. Right now let's find you a room to stay in Naranja Academy at least.
In a hallway, Nemona finds Ash a room to sleep in. "And this is where your room is, Ash."
"Wow. Thanks."
"No problem", said Nemona, nodding her head. "And if you need anything, and I mean anything at all, just let me know." Ash gives Nemona a thumbs up and she does the same for Ash. They then give each other hugs and pat each other on the back. "Pat pat!", they both said.
"See ya later, Ash!"
"You too! See you tomorrow if anything!"
"Okay!"
"Pika-Pika!", Pikachu also says goodbye.
Ash walks in to the room. He see that it's most likely empty. "Well Pikachu, it looks like we got some battling gym leaders to do, huh?"
"Pika."
Fuecoco emerges from his pokéball.
He goes to look outside the window. He sees the town from down below. "Wow!" He then turns and kneels down to Pikachu and Fuecoco. "It's time that we work together in order to become champion of this region. Catch new Pokémon, win battles, everything. You two ready?" Ash sends out his fist. Pikachu placed his fist onto Ash's. "Pikachu!" Fuecoco does the same. "Fuecoco!"
Ash and Pikachu and Fuecoco begin their hands in the middle phase. "One... two... three... Go Team Ash!"
"PIKA-PIKA-PI!"
"FUE-CO-FUE!"
At night time, Arven wakes up outside on the same place he passed out. As he opens his eyes, he sees Penny hovering over him. "Penny?" He groans in pain. "My head... How long have I been out?" Penny facepalms and adjusts her glasses. "It's been a while, and it's late."
Arven quickly gets up, now realizing how late it is. "Oh shoot! We got to get some sleep to meet Ash!" He runs to go to his house after telling Penny, "Thanks for reminding me!!!"
"No problem I guess..." Penny said quietly. She sighs tiredly. "What has gotten into that boy?" She walks back to her hotel in Naranja Academy.
Looks like Ash will be meeting lots and lots of new interesting people very soon. And his adventures begin now.
Cool huh?! Team Rocket are also in this story. It would be boring if they weren't. Also I would like to point out one thing. Carmine is a jerk to people who she calls outsiders like Paldea, but she just doesn't tend to show it when she's around them. However, even later in the future during the Teal Mask Arc, not only Ash, but being around Liko might impact a change in Carmine's point of view to the point she might start being nicer. But I won't address anything specifically, that would spoil things wouldn't it?
