'Come on, Doc. We're late already.' Yaz said putting on her leather jacket. 'Did you put some makeup to your wrists?'

'Yep. All done. I think I did quite a good job.' Doctor answered pulling her straps up. She showed her wrists to her partner. The bruises were almost entirely gone, hidden under a thick layer of concealer. 'We're not late yet. I'm going to repark the ship closer to Susan's apartment. We're gonna arrive few minutes after we left. Should be fine.'

They left Doctor's room and walked into the TARDIS console room. Doctor started to set up her ship according to her plan.

Yaz sighed. 'Can't believe you've talked me into this in the middle of reunion with your granddaughter.' she grinned. 'Actually it sounds bloody weird to say that. I'm shagging somebody's grandma.'

Doctor giggled. 'Well... I'm pretty good looking grandma, don't you think?'

Yaz chuckled. 'Fair point. But I'm not with you for your looks only. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love your body, but I also love that big, silly brain of yours.'

Doctor stopped as she was done with setting everything up. She came up to her partner and wrapped her arms around her neck.

'Well, you've let me talk you into this because you can't say no to this grandma.' she said.

Yaz sighed again. She grabbed her pelvis. 'Seriously Doctor. Stop it. It sounds weird as hell when you say it like that.'

Doctor giggled again and gave Yaz a kiss.

'Why don't you make me?' she gave her playful look.

Yaz chuckled and let her go. 'No, I'm not falling for this again. No more sexy times while we're here, okay?'

Doctor looked a bit down, but she knew Yaz was right.

'Killjoy...' she murmured thinking Yaz won't hear it, but she did.

'Someone has to act mature here, Doc. And you're doing terrible job at being a responsible adult, you know? For a grandma you're so childish.' she gave her amused look.

'Oi. There's nothing wrong with being childish.' Doctor chuckled.

Yaz sighed again. She didn't have a proper answer for that, so she decided to let that one go. Doctor saw that.

'... But, I guess there are times where you have to act like an adult. And meeting my granddaughter after all those years is that kind of situation.' she said and watched her girlfriend's face light up again. Seeing that filled her heart with a warm feeling. She'd do anything to see her smile again.

Doctor pulled the lever and soon enough they were knocking to Susan's apartment.

'That was quick.' Susan said opening the doors for them. 'Next time just let yourself in. Family doesn't need to knock, you know?'

Yaz and Doctor gave each other a smile and entered the apartment.

'Fancy another cuppa? David is not here yet, and actually I expected you a bit later, so nothing's ready yet.' Susan asked them as they were sitting on her couch.

'Thanks, but I'm good. Perhaps we could be off help somehow?' Yaz offered.

Susan smiled. 'That would be lovely, Yaz. Come help me with the food.'

'Can I help you too, my dear child?' Doctor asked.

'Yes. Would you be so kind, and set up the table, grandmother?' Susan asked, and Doctor stood up right away.

'With pleasure. On it right now.' she stormed off to the dinning room leaving Yaz and Susan alone.

'She's a handful, isn't she?' Susan asked gently poking Yaz in her ribs with her elbow.

'You have no idea...' Yaz sighed again and then seeing Susan's face added. 'Or you do, because you know her better than I do.'

The host giggled. 'She's changed. For the better I suppose. At least she's listening to someone now.'

Now Yaz chuckled. 'I wouldn't be so sure about that. But I guess she tries her best to consider somebody else's opinion.'

Susan clinged to Yaz's elbow and they both walked into the kitchen. 'Does she still strokes bits of TARDIS, like she didn't even notice she's not alone?'

Yaz chuckled again. 'I haven't thought anyone else noticed that. I know TARDIS is alive, but gosh, if there was a way to make a woman out of her ship, she'd be over the moon.'

Susan giggled too. 'Yeah, that sounds like my grandmother... So... The food. Any preferences?' she asked walking towards the counter.

'Nope. Even though I'm Indian, I was born and raised in Britain, so my family is rather open-minded when it comes to food.' Yaz answered.

Susan sent her a smile. 'Okay, then. Would you cut the vegetables, please?' she asked.

'I'm on it.' Yaz started right away. Susan watched her for a while.

'I must admit, I miss the old Britain. It's not the same after the war, but we do our best. I miss my beloved 1960s. What's 2018 like?' she asked.

Yaz gave her a quick smile. 'Oh, it's not bad, I think. But tech kinda run our lives. And the Internet. Especially the Internet. Like people have two lives. One real and one online.' she answered after a moment.

Susan started to take care of the meat, she pulled out of the fridge.

'Yeah... After the war, all that people wanted was to restore their connection, so that didn't change...' Susan said cutting it into small cubes. 'Is she treating you well?' she asked out of blue.

Yaz smiled to herself. All of the sudden her mind played the events from the TARDIS earlier, which distracted her, making her cut her finger. 'Ouch, son of a...' she cursed and turned on tap to wash the blood off.

'Is it bad?' Susan asked, clearly concerned.

Yaz assessed the damage. 'No, I don't think so. A bandaid will do.'

Susan washed her hands and pulled out some bandaids. She carefully dried Yaz's finger with paper towel and patched up her wound. Yaz noticed, she froze for a second after touching her hand. Her face briefly went blank, but then she shook her head and moved away. 'All done.' she smiled weakly.

'Are you okay, Susan?' Yaz asked and the woman nodded.

'I'm fine... It's just... A thing that I used to have. An ability. It must've awoken due to proximity of TARDIS.' she came back to her task.

'Oh, Doc haven't mentioned that. What's the ability?' Yaz asked genuinely curious.

Susan seemed a bit uncomfortable. She pointed at the kitchen table and both women sat there.

'Yaz... I... Back when I traveled with grandfather, we met this race... The Sensorites. They communicated telepathically, so they used special translators to communicate with us. Point is...' she hesitated. 'After a while I... didn't need a translator anymore. I could hear them. I saw their thoughts.' she answered.

'Oh...' Yaz turned red. 'So you accidentally read my mind?'

Susan nodded. 'I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. Like I said I thought it was gone.'

Yaz sighed. She felt ashamed of herself. 'Susan, I'm sorry... I...' she couldn't find the right words to apologize. 'You shouldn't have seen that. How much did you see?'

'Well... Just a glimpse.' Susan lied. 'I just saw her sitting on your lap... I think on a chair of some sort.'

Yaz's red cheeks turned even deeper shade of red.

'I'm so sorry, Susan. It was a reflex. You asked if she treats me well and my mind just went...' she was mad at herself for thinking about this moment.

Susan seemed to know what she was thinking again.

'Don't be so harsh on yourself, dear. You're both consenting adults. You're not hurting anyone.' she tried to comfort Yaz.

'Still... I feel guilty. You shouldn't see your folks naked.' Yaz smiled awkwardly.

Susan laughed. 'Wasn't so bad, she's a good looking gal now. And that's my fault I saw your very private thought.'

Yaz covered her face with her hands. 'I swear I'll kill her.'

'Oh, hunny, that will just make her angry.' Susan stood up and came back to dicing the meat.

'Yeah... Can we start again, please? I mean, before all this.' Yaz joined her by the counter.

Susan smiled. 'I'd really like that... How's your finger?'

'Tis is but a flesh wound.' Yaz answered mimicking Black Knight's voice.

Susan giggled. 'I wouldn't guess that you know Monty Python.'

Yaz grinned. 'Are you kidding me? It's all time classic. My granny used to turn the Flying Circus on, when I was little, to cheer me up. Always liked the songs. Especially the lumberjack one.' Yaz giggled. 'Of course I didn't understand what was it about back then.'

Susan grinned mysteriously. 'Well... They were surpassing their times, don't you think?'

'I do... Wait. Did the Doctor has something to do with it?' Yaz asked.

'I did have, but I'm not saying anything else.' they both heard from behind.

'Oh, you have some explaining to do, ma'am.' Yaz said adding her vegetables to the pot.

She turned over and asked her with raised eyebrow. 'Why didn't you tell me, she can read minds?' she was still holding a knife.

Doctor's face went blank. She did forget about that. 'I am a Doctor Idiot.' That was all she said.

Susan also turned around. 'It's not entirely her fault, Yaz. I haven't done that in years, and frankly thought it was gone.'

'Must've been the TARDIS then.' Doctor added. 'I'll make it up to you. Both of you, I promise.'

Yaz and Susan gave each other amused looks.

'It better be good, grandmother. It will take a long time for me to forget things I saw... Anyways is table ready?'

Doctor sat down at the kitchen table. 'Yep. All done. What are we doing after dinner?'

'Well... I was thinking of some old fashioned fun. How do you feel about bowling or mini golfing?' Susan wiped her hands looking at them.

'It's been a while since I've played, but sounds fun.' Yaz answered.

Doctor opened her mouth to answer, but the front door opened.

'Oh, here's David.' Susan said happily and rushed off to greet him. Doctor on the other hand looked like she swallowed something awful.

Yaz sighed. 'Be kind, Doc. Come on.' she reached her hand to help her get up.

'What happened to your finger?' Doctor noticed.

'Well... I cut myself, because a memory distracted me.' Yaz answered.

'Oh, so that's the way you found out about her...' Doc scratched her head.

That's when Susan walked in to the kitchen with a handsome man. His hair started to turn gray at some places, but the rest was still pretty dark.

'David, hunny. You remember my grandfather, do you?' Susan pointed at Doctor. 'Well, she's a woman now, but you know the drill.'

David smiled and walked to hug Doctor.

'Hiya Doctor. It's been a while.' he smiled. 'Wow, this body suits you.'

Doctor hugged him back, trying to look as polite as she could.

'David... Long time no see... You've aged! Why did you do that?' she tried to be polite, but obviously weren't.

David bursted out laughing. 'Oh, I've missed you and your jokes. And who is that lovely lady over here?' he seemed just to spot Yaz. He took her hand to kiss it. 'Enchanté'

Yaz smiled widely. She never received this kind of treatment from any man but her father. She seemed flattered. Doctor quickly stood between them.

'This is Yaz.' She said to his face. 'We travel together.'

Yaz sighed. 'That's all I am to you, Doc? A travel companion?' she looked a bit offended. 'Hi. I'm Yaz. I'm her girlfriend.' she smiled again and shook his hand. 'Or I thought I was.' she gave Doctor angry look.

'Yes. Girlfriend. Right. I have a girlfriend now. Still trying to wrap my head around that. Of course you're my girlfriend, Yaz.' Doctor explained herself really quick.

David chuckled. 'You gals seem like you need to talk, right hunny?' he came back to his wife and gave her a forehead kiss. 'Why don't you make yourself comfortable, and I'll help my better half?' he offered.

'That would be lovely, David. Thanks.' Yaz took Doctor by her hand and walked her to the dinning room.

As fast as the doors closed behind them, Yaz gave her annoyed look.

'What the fuck, Doc?' she asked shortly. 'Are you ashamed of me, or something?'

Doctor sighed and sat on the nearby chair. 'No, I'm not... I love you Yasmin Khan. I really do. I just... panicked.' she hid her face in her hands. 'When I saw him, my mind just went...'

Yaz sighed and crouched in front of her.

'You can't do that, Doc. You can't give me hope, and then just say we just travel buddies.' she made quotation marks saying the last two words.

Doctor looked her in her eyes. 'I know... I'm so sorry, Yaz. I'm giving you an official permission to smack me everytime I say something like that.'

Yaz smiled weakly and smacked her lightly on the back of her head.

'Ouch... What was that for? Oh. Right...' she rubbed her head. 'Well deserved.'

Brunette sat on her lap and gave her a kiss. Then another. And another, until their lips didn't want to part anymore. They put all of their feelings into this making out session. Their passion grew stronger with every second their bodies felt each other. But, they both knew it was time to stop.

'Apology accepted, hun.' she smiled, but then said with straight face 'But call me your travel companion once more, and I swear I'm gonna...'

Doctor smiled. 'Be careful what you say, because I might be into that.'

Yaz sighed again. 'I hate you so much, you know that?'

'No, you really don't.' Doctor gave her another kiss.

Brunette got off her partner's lap as soon as they saw the door opening. She sat on a chair next to her. Just in time to watch their hosts serve the dinner.

'Looks delicious, Susan.' Yaz said, as they all sat at the table.

Susan smiled. 'Thanks dear. You were terrific helper. Now, dig in.'

The dinner went surprisingly well. Doctor sat across the table from David, and everytime Yaz saw her face scronching, she kicked her under the table.

'So, Doctor... What happened to Ian and Barbara? Have you managed to send them home?' David asked.

Blonde got lost in her thoughts for a second. She haven't thought of them for a while. 'Yes. They were send back to 1960s. Heard that they were married. Ian runs a school now.' she remembered.

'What do you mean by "sending them home"?' Yaz asked.

'Well, when I had to leave my planet with Susan, I stole my TARDIS, but the navigation was screwed, so we never knew where we were gonna land.' Doctor explained devouring second refill.

Susan chuckled. 'Oh, that was pure madness, grandmother. TARDIS took us from Aztecs to deep space.'

Doctor smiled to her granddaughter. 'I've missed you, my child. Oh, I just remembered I almost married that Aztec lady. She gave me hot cocoa.'

Yaz giggled. 'Right. That was their way to propose.'

Susan sighed dreamingly. 'Oh I miss travels too. And Barbara looked pretty as an Aztec goddess.'

Doctor's mind showed her that image too. She promised herself to check on her old friends.

'So, what's the plan for tonight?' Yaz asked David, seeing Doc and Susan still dreaming about Aztecs.

'Well... I thought we could have a little old fashioned competition.' he answered between bites. 'Boys vs girls. First bowling, then minigolf. Loser team buys drinks.'

Doctor chuckled. 'Easy win. There's three of us against him.'

David smiled at her. 'No, Doc. You're on boys team. Just like in the old days. You and me, against our lovely women.'

Susan and Yaz looked at each other and smiled. 'Sounds fun.'

Doctor wasn't so happy. She wanted to win, but she hated the thought of being in a team with David. She glanced at Yaz, who gave her 'be polite' look.

'Okay, I'm in. But I have to be fair with you. I basically invented those games.' she said.

Yaz giggled. 'Doesn't mean you can actually play.'

Susan and David watched them with joined hands.

'Oh, they are so similar to us at the beginning.' David said to his wife. 'You're cocky just like your grandmother.'

He kissed Susan on the cheek, and she giggled. Doctor flinched, but tried to hide that by looking at her plate.

Yaz noticed that and squeezed her hand under the table.

'So, shall we? I've made some reservations and it would be nice to make it on time.' David said standing up. Doctor quickly ate what was left on her plate and they were ready to go.
