As they finally broke their embrace, Harry and Ginny tried to control their overwhelming feelings and divert their attention to the rant going on near the shop. Harry's eyes landed on a girl, who was shouting at another girl. He didn't know her name, but she was a petite, blonde-haired girl with a scowl on her face. She was around 11 years old, with a small nose and thin lips, which were pursed in anger.
"Who is that girl?" Harry asked Ginny, nodding towards the blonde-haired girl.
"I have no idea," Ginny replied, shrugging her shoulders. "But she seems really upset."
The girl she was shouting at looked calm and collected, despite the verbal onslaught. She had long, curly brown hair and bright brown eyes, which sparkled with intelligence.
"I wonder what's going on," Ginny said, watching the scene unfold.
"I have no idea," Harry replied, "but that blonde girl seems really angry."
As they watched, the blonde girl continued to rant and rave, her face red with anger. The other girl remained calm, but her eyes flashed with annoyance.
"I don't like that blonde girl's attitude," Ginny said, frowning.
"Me neither," Harry agreed. "But I think the other girl is handling it well."
As they watched, the situation escalated. Pansy's insults turned personal, and she began to mock Hermione's heritage. Hermione, who had been holding back tears, finally broke down and sobbed.
"How dare you!" Ginny exclaimed, her eyes flashing with anger.
But then, Pansy said something that made Ginny's face turn red with rage. "You're just a mudblood!" she spat.
Ginny's eyes blazed with fury. "That's it, I've had enough!" she exclaimed.
Harry, however, looked confused. "What's wrong?" he asked Ginny. "What does 'mudblood' mean?"
Ginny's expression turned grim. "It's a terrible insult," she explained. "It means someone who's born to non-magical parents, but has magic themselves. It's a slur, Harry."
Harry's face darkened as he understood. "That's disgusting," he said, his voice low and angry.
But Ginny placed a calming hand on his arm. "Don't react, Harry. It's what she wants."
Harry took a deep breath and tried to stay calm, but his eyes narrowed at Pansy. "I don't like her," he said, his voice cold.
"Me neither," Ginny agreed. "But we can't let her get to us."
Pansy continued to insult Hermione, her words cutting deep. "You're a freak, a blood traitor, and a mudblood!" she spat.
Hermione, tears streaming down her face, tried to run away, but her legs buckled beneath her. Harry, quick to react, caught her before she fell.
"Hey, are you okay?" Harry asked, concern etched on his face.
Ginny rushed over to help, and Harry handed Hermione over to her care. "Here, Ginny, take care of her."
Ginny wrapped a comforting arm around Hermione's shoulders. "Don't listen to her, you're amazing just the way you are."
Meanwhile, Harry approached Pansy, his eyes calm but firm. "Excuse me, I think you should apologize to that girl."
Pansy sneered at him. "Who the hell are you?"
"I'm Harry Potter," he replied, his voice steady.
Pansy's eyes widened in shock, but instead of apologizing, she turned on her heel and stormed out of the ice cream shop.
Mr. Fortescue, the shop owner, shook his head. "Ah, shame that happened in my shop. Well done, Harry, for standing up for that young lady."
Harry smiled wryly. "Just did what was right, sir."
Ginny and Hermione approached them, Hermione's eyes still red from crying. "Thanks, Harry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Harry smiled and put a hand on her shoulder. "Anytime."
Harry asked Hermione, "What's your name?"
"I'm Hermione Granger," she replied, her eyes sparkling with curiosity.
But then, her eyes widened in surprise as she realized who he was. "You're...Harry Potter!" she exclaimed.
Harry smiled and said, "Just call me Harry, please. No need to make a fuss."
Ginny, who had been watching the exchange, introduced herself. "I'm Ginny, Harry's friend."
Harry then turned to Hermione and offered, "Hey, do you want an ice cream? That last one was ruined by...you know."
Hermione smiled, still looking a bit starstruck. "Yeah, that would be great, thanks."
As they licked their Raspberry and Vanilla ice cream cones, Hermione asked, "What does 'mudblood' mean?"
Ginny's expression turned grim. "It's a terrible insult, Hermione. It means someone who's born to non-magical parents, but has magic themselves."
Hermione's eyes widened in understanding. "Oh, I see. That's what Pansy meant."
Harry nodded. "Yeah, it's a horrible thing to say to someone."
As they finished their ice cream, Harry tried to pay Mr. Fortescue, but he refused. "No charge, Harry! You three enjoy yourselves, okay?"
Harry protested, "But, sir, I want to pay! It's not fair."
Mr. Fortescue chuckled and said, "Consider it a gift, Harry. You and your friends are welcome here anytime."
Ginny grinned and said, "Thanks, Mr. Fortescue! You're the best!"
Hermione nodded in agreement, feeling grateful for her new friends.
As they were standing there, Mrs. Tucker, aka Grandma, and Molly Weasley joined them. Molly asked, "Who's this dear?"
Harry smiled and said, "This is Hermione Granger, my friend."
Hermione's heart skipped a beat as she heard the word "friend". She had never really had a proper friend before, and the fact that Harry, the famous Harry Potter, was calling her his friend made her feel all warm inside.
Molly smiled and said, "I'm Ginny's mother, Molly Weasley. And this is Mrs. Tucker, Harry's honorary grandma."
Hermione's eyes widened in surprise. "Honorary grandma?" she repeated.
Mrs. Tucker chuckled and said, "Yes, dear. I've known Harry since he was a little boy. I'm like a grandma to him."
Hermione felt a pang of jealousy, wishing she had a family like that. But then she looked at Harry and Ginny, and felt grateful to have them as friends.
"It's nice to meet you, Mrs. Weasley, Mrs. Tucker," Hermione said, trying to sound calm.
Molly smiled and said, "Call me Molly, dear. And Mrs. Tucker is Grandma to everyone."
Harry grinned and said, "Yeah, Grandma's the best."
Hermione smiled, feeling happy to be included in their little group. She had never felt like this before, like she belonged. And it was all thanks to Harry, who had stood up for her and called her his friend.
As they were standing there, the Weasley brothers, Bill, Charlie, Percy, the twins, and Ron, arrived, done with their shopping for Percy and the twins.
"Hey, how was the date?" Bill asked, grinning mischievously.
Charlie chuckled and said, "Yeah, how's the romance?"
Percy raised an eyebrow and said, "I'm sure it was a lovely evening."
The twins, Fred and George, snickered and said, "Spill the beans, Harry!"
Ginny and Harry blushed deeply, but neither accepted nor denied the accusation.
Hermione, trying to apologize, said, "I'm so sorry to ruin your date..."
Ginny and Harry waved her off, stammering, "It was...uh...not a date..."
Their faces turned even redder as they struggled to explain.
Harry, trying to change the subject, said, "Everyone, this is Hermione Granger. Hermione, this is Bill, Charlie, Percy, Fred, George, and Ron."
Hermione smiled and greeted each of them, still looking a bit bewildered by the teasing.
Molly, chuckling, said, "Don't mind them, dear. They're just a bit cheeky."
Grandma Tucker added, "Yes, and they love to tease Harry and Ginny."
The group shared a laugh, and the tension was broken.
Molly called out to her children, "Alright, kids, time to head home!"
Ginny's face fell, clearly not wanting the day to end.
But then Harry grabbed her arm, whispered something to Mrs. Tucker, and smiled.
He took a deep breath and approached Mrs. Weasley. "Mrs. Weasley, may I ask something?"
"Of course, Harry," she replied.
"I was wondering if Ginny...and Ron...could accompany me to Diagon Alley and Muggle London? I'd love to show them around."
Mrs. Weasley thought for a moment before responding, "Ginny can come with you to both, but Ron can only come to Diagon Alley. He has to take some potions and get some rest, as instructed by his father."
Ron nodded reluctantly, "Yeah, okay...I guess I can't come to Muggle London."
Ginny grinned, excited. "Thanks, Mum!"
Harry smiled, relieved. "Thanks, Mrs. Weasley! I promise to take care of them."
Mrs. Tucker chuckled. "I'm sure you will, Harry. You're a responsible young man."
Before agreeing, Mrs. Weasley cautioned Harry, "Now, Harry, don't you go buying anything for Ron and Ginny. They can get their own things."
But Harry insisted, his eyes shining with emotion. "No, Mrs. Weasley, please! They're my first real friends, my only friends...I want to get them something special."
Mrs. Weasley's expression softened at Harry's words. "Oh, Harry, dear...you're so sweet."
Harry continued, his voice filled with conviction. "I know I don't have much, but I want to show them how much they mean to me. Please, Mrs. Weasley, let me do this."
Mrs. Weasley's face melted at Harry's sincerity. "Alright, alright...but just something small, Harry."
Harry's face lit up with a radiant smile. "Thanks, Mrs. Weasley! I promise it'll be something small, but special."
Ginny and Ron, who had been watching the exchange, exchanged a warm glance. They knew how much Harry's gesture meant, and they were touched by his thoughtfulness.
Grandma Tucker, who had been observing the scene, nodded her head in approval. "That's the spirit, Harry! Show them how much you care."
The group began to say their goodbyes, with Harry and Ginny already planning their next adventure.
Harry, still firmly holding Ginny's wrist, offered, "Mr. and Mrs. Granger, why don't you sit down at the Leaky Cauldron with my Grandma and have some fun? I'll guide Hermione to her shopping."
Hermione's eyes welled up with gratitude. "Thank you, Harry!"
Grandma Tucker beamed with pride. "Yes, go ahead, dear. We'll have a lovely time."
Ron looked impressed. "Blimey, Harry, you're a great host!"
Mr. and Mrs. Granger tried to wave off the offer, but eventually accepted. "Thank you, Harry. You're too kind."
As they sat down, Mrs. Granger whispered to Harry, "We're having a hard time, Harry. This means a lot to us."
Harry smiled and nodded.
Before leaving, Mr. and Mrs. Granger handed Hermione a money bag and had a quick talk with her. As they departed, they noticed Harry's hand on Ginny's and said, "You two seem like a lovely couple! Take care, kids!"
Harry and Ginny realized they were still holding hands and quickly let go, blushing. "We're not a couple!" they stammered in unison, but the others had already left, leaving the four kids alone.
As they started walking, Harry dragged his trunk with one hand, with Ginny walking beside him. As they strolled, their hands kept brushing against each other, sending electric feelings through both of them.
At first, they didn't notice, but as it happened again and again, they couldn't ignore the sparks flying between them. Slowly, their hands began to fit together, as if meant to be.
Ginny's heart skipped a beat as she felt Harry's hand wrap around hers. She blushed, but didn't dare look at him, afraid of what she might see in his eyes.
Harry, too, felt his face heat up, but he couldn't bring himself to let go of Ginny's hand. It felt like they were meant to be holding hands, like it was the most natural thing in the world.
As they continued walking, their hands entwined, they both tried to focus on the path ahead, but their minds kept wandering back to the warmth of each other's touch.
"Wow, look at that shop!" Ron exclaimed, breaking the spell. "Let's go check it out!"
Ginny and Harry quickly dropped hands, trying to play it cool, but they couldn't help sneaking glances at each other, their faces still flushed with excitement.
As they entered the shop, Quality Quidditch Supplies, they were immediately surrounded by the latest broomsticks, Quidditch robes, and equipment. The group's eyes widened as they took in the array of goods on display.
"Wow, look at this Nimbus!" Ron exclaimed, rushing over to examine the broomstick.
Ginny giggled. "Ron, you know you can't afford that!"
Harry chuckled and said, "I think I'll get some posters instead. Who wants one?"
"I do!" Ron replied enthusiastically.
"Me too!" Ginny added.
Hermione, however, politely declined. "No, thank you, Harry. I'm not really into Quidditch posters."
Harry smiled and said, "No worries, Hermione. More for us, I suppose!"
As they browsed the shop, Harry picked out three posters: one of the Chudley Cannons, one of the Holyhead Harpies, and one of the Gryffindor Quidditch team.
"I'll get these," Harry said, heading to the counter.
Ron and Ginny eagerly waited for their posters, grinning from ear to ear.
"Thanks, Harry!" Ron exclaimed, as Harry handed him his poster.
"No problem, mate!" Harry replied, smiling.
Ginny smiled sweetly. "Thanks, Harry. You're the best!"
Hermione rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "You three have a Quidditch obsession!"
As they left Quality Quidditch Supplies, Harry led the group to the Apothecary, a fascinating shop filled with strange and exotic ingredients. Upon entering, they were greeted by Mr. Roberts, the owner, who beamed with delight at seeing Harry again.
"Harry Potter! It's so wonderful to see you, my boy!" Mr. Roberts exclaimed, shaking Harry's hand warmly.
"Hi, Mr. Roberts! I've brought some friends to help with their shopping," Harry replied, gesturing to the others.
Mr. Roberts' eyes twinkled. "Ah, excellent! Welcome, welcome, all of you! How can I assist you today?"
Hermione stepped forward, clutching her list of ingredients. "I need some things for my potions class, please."
Harry offered, "Let me help you, Hermione. I know a bit about potions."
Together, Harry and Hermione browsed the shelves, gathering various ingredients, including dried unicorn horn, moonstone, and wolfbane. Mr. Roberts provided guidance and recommendations, clearly impressed by Harry's knowledge.
As they finished shopping, Mr. Roberts smiled. "Well, I'm glad I could help. You know, Harry, you have a talent for potions. You should consider becoming a potioneer!"
Harry chuckled. "I think may be , Mr. Roberts, but thanks for the suggestion!"
With their purchases in hand, the group bid farewell to Mr. Roberts and continued their adventure through Diagon Alley.
As Harry and his friends explored Diagon Alley, a small tabby cat had been secretly following them, keeping a discreet distance. The cat had been trailing Harry since they arrived in the alley, watching with curious eyes as they visited the ice cream shop.
At the Quidditch shop, Quality Quidditch Supplies, the cat had slipped inside, weaving between the shelves and broomsticks as Harry and his friends browsed the merchandise. Ron and Ginny had been oblivious to the feline presence, but Hermione had caught a glimpse of the cat out of the corner of her eye.
"Is that a cat?" she had whispered to Harry, who had been too engrossed in the Quidditch posters to notice.
But the cat had quickly hidden behind a stack of robes, remaining concealed as they left the shop.
At the Apothecary, the cat had followed them inside, rubbing against the legs of the shelves as Harry and Hermione selected their ingredients. Mr. Roberts, the owner, had smiled and stroked the cat's head, seemingly familiar with the feline visitor.
"Ah, our little friend is back," he had said, with a knowing glint in his eye.
The cat had continued to follow Harry and his friends, always keeping a subtle distance, as they made their way through Diagon Alley. Its eyes had shone with an uncanny intelligence, as if it were watching over Harry, waiting for something to happen.
As they were deciding where to go next, the tabby cat, who had been quietly observing from a corner, suddenly got her leg stuck in a nearby pipe. She tried to remove it, but instead, made it worse, causing the pipe to bend and twist. Finally, she managed to free herself, but not without injuring her leg, which began bleeding furiously.
The cat meowed in pain, her eyes wide with distress. Harry's head quickly turned, faster than Ginny could believe, and he immediately ran to help the cat, leaving Ron and Hermione looking confused and concerned.
Ginny, however, couldn't help but smile at Harry's quick response. "Harry, wait!" she called out, but he was already kneeling beside the cat, examining her injured leg.
"Don't worry, I've got you," Harry said softly, his voice full of compassion. "We'll get you fixed up in no time."
The cat purred weakly, seeming to understand that Harry was there to help. Ron and Hermione approached cautiously, unsure of what to make of the situation.
"What's going on?" Ron asked, eyeing the cat's bleeding leg.
"I think she got hurt," Harry replied, his hands gently probing the wound.
Harry swiftly opened the seventh compartment of his trunk, revealing a large, mysterious box. He lifted it out and opened it, revealing a comprehensive array of medical supplies. The box was filled with various instruments, bottles of potions, rolls of bandages, jars of creams, and small pouches of medicines.
"Wow, Harry, what's all this?" Ron asked, eyeing the contents uncertainly.
"I've never seen anything like it," Ginny added, equally perplexed.
But Hermione's eyes widened in recognition. "It's a very advanced first aid box," she exclaimed. "I've seen similar ones in Muggle hospitals."
Harry nodded, his hands moving quickly as he selected a few items from the box. He gently removed some dirt and sand from the cat's wound using forceps, comforting her as she winced in pain. "It's okay, kitty, I've got you."
Next, Harry washed the wound with a gentle potion, applied some spray and cream, and carefully bandaged it. The cat purred, seeming to relax in his care.
As Harry stroked her fur, the cat gazed up at him with affection and licked his hand. But for a moment, Harry had a vague feeling that he had seen the cat before. He even thought he saw a proud glint in her eyes, as if she knew a secret.
"Thanks, Harry," Hermione said, smiling. "You're a regular medic."
Ron chuckled. "Yeah, who knew you had a hidden talent?"
Ginny grinned. "Harry's full of surprises."
But Harry just smiled, his eyes still locked on the cat's. "I'm just glad I could help."
Harry gently lifted the cat and cradled her in his lap, her injured leg tucked safely under her body. "Ron, could you please carry my trunk?" he asked, nodding towards the large chest.
Ron obligingly lifted the trunk, his eyes still fixed on the cat. "Blimey, Harry, you're really taking care of her, aren't you?"
Harry smiled, stroking the cat's soft fur. "She needs to rest her leg for a few hours to heal properly. Walking will only make it worse."
Ginny gazed at Harry with admiration. "Harry, you're so caring! I don't know what we'd do without you."
Harry's face flushed with embarrassment. "It's no big deal, Ginny. I just want to help."
Hermione smiled. "Well, while we're out, I need to get a new Cauldron for my potions class. Want to come with me to the Cauldron shop?"
"Sounds like a plan," Ron said, adjusting the trunk on his shoulder.
"Definitely," Harry agreed. "We can't have you brewing potions in a subpar Cauldron, Hermione."
Ginny nodded. "And maybe we can even get some Butterbeer while we're there."
As they made their way to the Cauldron shop, the cat purring contentedly in Harry's lap, Hermione asked, "Harry, how are you going to carry the cat and help me choose a Cauldron?"
Harry smiled. "Don't worry, I've got it under control."
As they entered the Cauldron shop, the shopkeeper's face lit up with a warm smile. "Ah, Harry Potter! Welcome back! I'm impressed by your knowledge of potions ingredients yesterday. You're a true natural!"
Harry smiled humbly, cradling the cat in his lap. "Thanks, I just like to learn."
Hermione approached the shelves, scanning the various Cauldrons on display. "I need a new Cauldron for my potions class. What do you recommend?"
The shopkeeper nodded. "Ah, excellent choice! Let me show you our finest Cauldrons."
Harry, still holding the cat, expertly assisted Hermione in selecting the perfect Cauldron, asking insightful questions and offering valuable advice.
Ron whistled. "Blimey, Harry, you're a regular Cauldron expert!"
Harry chuckled. "Just trying to help, Ron."
The shopkeeper beamed. "You're a true asset, Harry! I'm glad you're here to help your friend."
Hermione smiled, examining her new Cauldron. "Thanks, Harry. I don't know what I'd do without you."
Harry blushed, looking down at the cat. "It's no big deal, really."
The shopkeeper nodded. "Well, you're a natural multitasker, Harry. Holding a cat and helping with Cauldron shopping? Impressive!"
Harry laughed. "Just getting things done, I suppose."
As they continued their shopping spree, Harry, still holding the cat, expertly navigated the crowded aisles, letting her peek out from between his arms as they visited various shops. At the parchment shop, Hermione selected a few bundles of high-quality parchment, while Harry recommended a few specialized quills.
Next, they visited the Astronomy shop, where Hermione purchased a beautiful telescope. "This one will be perfect for our Astronomy lessons," she exclaimed.
At the Owl Emporium, Harry helped Hermione choose a few bags of owl treats, and even selected a few toys for Hedwig. "I think she'll love these," he said, smiling.
The cat, seemingly enjoying the shopping trip, purred contentedly in Harry's lap, occasionally reaching out a paw to touch the various items on display.
As they made their way to the Glassware shop, Ron asked, "How's our shopping list looking?"
Hermione consulted her list. "We've got everything except books and a wand."
Ginny nodded. "And we can't forget those. Let's head to Flourish and Blotts next."
Harry smiled. "And then Ollivanders for the wand."
The cat meowed softly, as if in agreement.
"I think we're making great progress," Hermione said, smiling at Harry and the cat.
"Now, let's get those books and a wand, and we'll be all set," Harry said, leading the group towards the bookstore.
A/n: I hope You like it. Please ignore grammatical and spelling errors. I thought it would be better to introduce Hermione before as now since Harry too is a bookworm so it is not possible for them to not be friends with her from start. What do you think about it ?
