After a long, but successful weekend of wrestling, it's nice to be back home, surrounded by his children and Alicia again. The twins wiggle and make soft little whining noises as he cradles them close, kissing their foreheads, while Andre tugs lightly at his pantleg, peering up at him eagerly for his turn. Once he hands over the girls to Sofia and Alicia, Ricardo scoops the boy up and hugs him close, smiling against his forehead as he breathes him in. "I've missed you," he murmurs and feels as Andre clings to him.
"I've missed you too, Daddy," he says, presses his forehead into Ricardo's neck. "Do you have to leave again soon?"
"Not for a couple days," Ricardo says, squeezing him. "It's a holiday, after all." He pauses. "What do you say we have a movie marathon? Be lazy little ants on a log today?"
Andre giggles. "Mama, Auntie and the babies too?"
"Sure," Ricardo says. "Not sure how much enjoyment the babies will get from it, but they're always welcome."
Andre hums, tipping his head back to look at his father. "Can I choose first pick?"
Ricardo rolls his eyes playfully, tickling him. "Yes, Andre, if you must," he teases. "Are we going to watch The Gumby Movie again?" His son was strange, Ricardo could admit. He had showed him the movie once as a lark, and ever since, Andre has been obsessed with the claymation and how silly it all looks, constantly giggling whenever it's on.
"Maybe later," Andre says, and for a brief moment Ricardo has hope. "I wanna watch Tom & Jerry!"
Ricardo bites his lip, looking over at Alicia, who shrugs and mouths, 'new obsession' over at him. Ricardo exhales and shrugs back, deciding to roll with it. "Alright, Andre, we can watch Tom & Jerry."
Ricardo's internal complaints fade away, however, when he's cuddled up on the couch, Alicia on one arm, Andre on the other, the twins tucked in on his chest, all of them warm and content under a very wide blanket while the movies they take turns picking drone on lazily.
It's a perfect way to spend a holiday.
