"Strange enough I felt it with Lela Gewalt, can you believe it? I wonder, did the both of you never meet? You are about the same age, and your parents are quite close."
"From what I heard, Lela lived with her mother until recently, and my father did not allow other children in the castle. I think he can't stand children at all."
"What about your Mother?"

I put the armor and rapier next to her bed. I smiled at her, she had the covers pulled up to her neck, and even in the dark, I saw her blushing.
"You are welcome Lela, and please call me Seiji, a pretty girl like you is allowed to call me Seiji. Good night and sweet dreams Lela."
I ported back home, while Lela poked the armor to check she didn't dream of this visit.

The rest of the week I spent debugging the systems from the other departments, with [Quick] on me, I did most in the morning and took it easy in the afternoon, just some token actions to fool people that were passing by my office. Now that Elena can read Japanese, she studied Fire, Light, and Ice, helped by Aya.
Aya's occupation changed from High School student to College Student, her classes start next week, and she is preparing for it, I helped by porting both girls to New York to learn the English Language.
Aya was the happiest about it, even being able to speak on a conversation level is better than most students are able to. It helped with grammar too and saved a lot of study time.
I popped regularly over to the other world, the demand for [Salt] dropped, I knew it was a mistake to give Lyle the bag of [Salt]. It ruined my economics, I settled by selling wheat flour, sugar, and stationary, lighters are quite popular too, even after I explained that the gas in it would eventually run out, with badly storing the lighter, the gas can expire in one night. At the end of the week, I had over 200,000 Aurums and my Lydia 5,000 Aurums as commission. I never stopped flirting with her, and she was basking in my attention.

Saturday morning we prepared for our departure to Suga Town, Elena was nervous, it was the first time she visited a Temple again.
"Do you think I will get the [Ice Magic] lord Seiji?"
"I am certain Elena, you are going to be a formidable [Ice Magician], a [Fire Magician], and a [Light Magician]. Remember, you are in the [Hero Party]! People will look at you in admiration… hmm, they do that already. Anyway, you know what I mean."
I hugged them both and ported to Suga Town. A few questions later we stood in front of the Water Temple.
"Elena, wait here for us, we are getting the [Water Magic] first."
Aya dragged me to the Crystal after we paid 4500 Aurums each, when we touched the Crystal, the voice said: "[Water Magic] level max acquired. Yes, if you know what is coming, you study for it… a lot! Aya got to level 3.
Outside, Elena congratulated us for acquiring the magic: "Now the Ice! I already paid for it."
The Water Crystal was deep blue, the Ice Crystal a pale light blue. Elena hesitated, I took her and Aya's hand, and together we touched the Crystal.
The voice announced: "[Ice Magic] level 4 acquired, bummer I hoped for more. Elena went up to level 3 so was Aya.
When we left the Temple we explored the stalls next to the temple, the most interesting item was a [Sacrificial Necklace], a lifesaver, I bought 5 of them at 3000 a piece, it could absorb a deadly attack, making you live through it.
The Fire Crystal was next, Aya got 3, Elena 2 [Light Magic] was a bust for both, they didn't get the concept of [Light Energy] Aya was disappointed, I cheered her up by telling her we were going to Ebisu Town for the [Recovery Magic]
It was a hustle to be allowed inside, but the leading healer recognized Elena and allowed us access. I got up to 3, Aya scraped a 1 together. It is still impressive because plenty of people don't even get one magic. We said goodbye to Butte, the main healer, and ported back to Suga Town.
At the Adventurers Guild, we took a look at the quests, they are the basic ones, herbs, slimes, rats, rabbits, wolves, and goblins.
A walk outside of town got us on the way to a forest, arriving there we practiced our magic, my [Fire Ball] almost started a forest fire, it took our combined effort to put the fire out.
"Lord Seiji, that is very powerful [Fire Magic] what level is it?"
"Ah, I forgot that it is level 6. when you reach level 5 with your magic, you can form a contract with the spirit from that magic. I have a contract with Flashy and Flame. The [Lightning Spirit] and [Fire Spirit], are nice ones. Now Elena, use your [Water Magic] as I explained to you, draw water from the air and your surroundings. You can even attack from where the water is drawn."
Elena stared at me: "You have a contract with a Spirit? We only heard from Spirits in Legends. The last one was from at least five hundred years ago!"
I shrugged: "[Water Spirit] is the next one, it is at level 5 so I can summon it already. Practice first. Aya, first try all the new magics and then try to combine them, although careful with the [Fire Magic].
We spent an hour perfecting our spells, both girls got a boost in their MP, and a big bag of [Candy] kept their MP up. After that hour we went into the forest and started gathering herbs, [Medicinal Herb], [Purple Grass], and [Ice Grass], all three herbs were ingredients for my potion recipes. We gathered as much as we could find, making certain some of the roots stayed in the soil, to grow back, all the time killing the local monsters.
I kept on using my Sword and [Unarmed Techniques] to level my [Body Reinforcement]. I have to get it at level 5 to get the [Body Reinforcement Spirit] to form a contract.
Deeper in the forest I did a search and spotted 3 Orcs and 1 human close by, I cast [Quick] on us and led them to the Orcs. "Aya, Elena, three Orcs, and one human, both of you kill the Orcs, I will rescue the human.
The human was a young girl, the Orcs, two normal ones and a black one were arguing with each other. I [Teleported] behind the girl, grabbed her and ported back. Aya and Elena worked together and created a [Water Tornado] that swallowed the Orcs up, a half minute later, the Orcs dropped dead on the forest floor, looking like it was if they were put in a blender, I stored the Orcs, while Elena checked the girl out.
"Just bruises and emotional stress, I healed the bruises, take her to the village, the guards will know who she is."
We ported outside the Town and carried the girl to the guardhouse. After explaining the situation, they found her parents, she was only missing for a couple of hours. I asked: "How can Orcs kidnap a girl from Town unnoticed? Is there some magic stone that can transform them into humans?"
There is, I read it in the novel.
"We will write a report to the nobles, you three are adventurers, you have to report it to the guild. Here take this document, it is proof you rescued a child from this town. It will give you guild points to raise your ranking."

At the guild, we reported the kidnapping and my suspicion and offloaded our spoils, I dropped 3 Orcs on the floor, the skin wasn't worth much anymore, but the meat was tenderized, though. Corpses of wolves and horned rabbits made two other piles, and the rat fangs and Goblin ears made smaller piles, I kept two boars, the rest, five of them, went on the floor of the warehouse with the rest.
We walked out with 7000 Aurums and a D rank on our cards. And one hell of a reputation.
"Girls, any requests?"
"Seiji, let us go shop for some extra weapons or armor. After that, we port to the church to prepare dinner."
The weapon shop specialized in rearguard weapons, so no shields or swords. Bows, rods, throwing knives, javelins stuff like that.
The lady behind the counter recommended a rod that converts MP to attack power for Elena when she heard me say we have a lot of MP, she challenged me: "Put your deeds where your words are young man, come outside, we have a backyard where we can test it."
Meh, she asked for it. Elena destroyed the target doll, Aya obliterated the next one, I asked: "Are you sure you want me to do this?"
The sales lady huffed: "What more can you do? Destroy one more?"
That afternoon an earthquake shook the Town and left a big crater in someone's backyard. I bought three of those rods.

The kids from the church hug piled us, Aria welcomed us with a bright smile: "Lord Seiji, Princess Elena, and Lady Aya, we are happy that you are visiting us, Minya most of all, your cooking techniques opened all of our eyes, even the little ones are motivated to learn cooking. They are helping Minya to prepare the vegetables already."
I smiled: "Well if they progress as fast as Minya, I will sponsor them to open a restaurant or tavern. I bet the adventurers will be good clients. That is still some years away though. They can help us now too if they want."
I took Minya to the market and bought vegetables and boar meat, I exchanged a quarter boar fully processed for a full corps with the butcher. The man was surprised the animal was still warm.
"Today Minya, I'll show you different ways to prepare boar meat, Orc meat tastes the same, but boar is cheaper, easier to kill is the main reason because both taste equal. We do three dishes, one will need to be eaten right away, the second can be kept for three days, it even tastes better the second day, the third can be kept for weeks. These are not recipes from my homeworld, but recipes I developed by observing the available ingredients and meat quality." Meh, I am bragging, she can't check if I am lying or not.
We reached the kitchen, I asked: "Do you have any pasta or noodles ready to cook?" Minya nodded, I made some yesterday, enough to last a week. The little ones like the taste a lot."
"The first one is a one pan dish, strips of pork and grilled vegetables with noodles. Fast and tasty."
I demonstrated and Minya copied it, it is just a wok dish. The second dish was boar meat with mashed potatoes… they looked like and tasted like potatoes so I called them potatoes.
"You can mix different vegetables with the mashed potatoes, this sauce will go fine with it. The third boar meat recipe is a pate, kept in a jar with a closed lid it will last a long time, and it is good with bread at breakfast or snack. Preparing it takes longer, but you can use the cheap, tough-to-eat parts of the boar to prepare the pate."
The kids and even the girls were paying attention, I showed the way to prepare the vegetables to the children, with my [Teaching] level 4 they learn it fast. The one-pan dish was a hit with the kids. Too bad Minya is too young to start a business, she will have to work in an inn or tavern for some years. in the novel, she becomes an adventurer who needs to be saved from a goblin. So she will probably not last long as an adventurer.

We returned home, having periods in a medieval world is no pick-nick. I called them into the kitchen: "Aya, Elena, today we are going to brew potions, and get the skill."
I took the tools out that I prepared, not the old alchemist stereotype tools, but high-tech measuring devices and chemistry tools.
"First we dry the Medicinal Herbs with [Water Magic], Elena, try to extract water from the herbs, that way they dry up."
With several failed attempts, Elena succeeded: "Like this Lord Seiji?"
"Perfect Elena, now teach us how you did it." Elena gained the [Teaching] Skill, level 1, and 100 extra MP.
Aya, Elena, and I started to dry all of the Medicinal Herbs, following the recipe, it needed 20 Grams of dried Medicinal Herbs, 10 Grams of D ranked or better [Salt], and 200 ML of plain water.
The recipe goes like this:
1 Dry the Medicinal Herbs and grind them into small pieces.
2 Put the Medicinal Herbs and Salt in the water and mix them together.
3 Put it on the fire and stir it well while adding your magic to it until it boils.
4 Remove it from the fire.
5 Filter the potion to remove all impurities.
I specially bought a small type of blender just for that, instead of a mortar and pestle, the blender did a better job and certainly a faster one.
With my high-precision digital measuring tool, we measured the exact portions of the potion. We used water that Elena conjured, it is pure water without any contamination, the [Salt] is S ranked, and the Herbs are ground to a high grade.
We followed the recipe to the last detail, at last, we filtered the potion through filter paper into a small bottle. Each brew provided enough for two Potions. When I checked the result it showed:

I inspected the Medicinal Herbs, there is room for improvement, removing the impurities and dirt, along with bad leaves will gain a +1 more.
Aya succeeded in making her potion a +3 too, so did Elena, both gained the [Potion Craft] level 1 Skill.
A few strength recovery potions later, we tried a level one potion, the

"You are thinking about rude stuff Seiji." I need to learn to control my facial expressions.
We ended the session at level 3 by making

"Let us sell our potions, I am curious what they are worth." a few questions later we were directed to the Craftsmen guild. The hall was divided into sections, we went to a free counter and asked: "Miss, we are new Potion Crafters, here is a sample, are there some rules about selling them?"
The woman behind the counter answered: "Yes, there are some rules to be followed. You need an approved vial to sell the potions, you can buy them on that counter, we check the potions of new Potion Masters to appraise the quality, it often happens that the potions are subpar."

Most of our potions were +2 and +3, we kept the +1 and normals to give to Aria. At the counter, we divided our potions by quality. At the questioning look of the girl behind the counter, Elena said: "Those are of different quality, we are new Potion Masters and those potions need [Appraisal]."
The girl fetched her superior who Appraised the potions: "Ttthose are high-quality potions! +2 and +3!"

We left the guild with 1500 Aurums and more ingredients. Not bad for an evening's work.

At Suga in the Adventures Guild, we asked for information about the location of slimes, I didn't see them in this world and am curious about the most used monster in fantasy stories.

"Lord Seiji, can we search for those Orcs? Most adventures have a hard time killing them. They might have hostages."
An [Search] on my [Map] showed them deeper into the forest, a whole bunch of them. "Wait a minute, I'll contract the [Water Spirit] first, that gives me 2000 extra MP."
"Two thousand MP? How do I contract one?" Asked Aya.
"By leveling your Magic lazy girl."
I activated [Summon Water Spirit] and a pretty blue-haired fairy appeared: "Wow you are beautiful! I like your hair, by the way, it is very sexy, can I know your name, pretty girl? Mine is Seiji."

"Flashy! You know you are the first Spirit I contracted, you are so beautiful the sun lost its place as the most bright in this world. Now I want you to scout out that Orc camp and locate the Humans so we can [Teleport] to them. Can you do this for me, pretty girl?"
I heard Aya grumbling: "He better start by complimenting us more, I am getting jealous of shiny floating balls." Elena nodded silently. Did I just shoot my own foot?
After I tagged Flashy, she took off to the camp, slowly circling it to get me the best view. She flew to the corral with the humans. We ported into the corral and I erected a dome Barrier that blocked physical attacks and sound.

A few strategically placed [Lightning Bolts] finished them off. I stored the Orcs and raided their camp for goodies, some [Stone of Human Transformation] was good for evidence, well, it was not a bad haul, more than 200 Orcs, some evidence, and our level raised by five.
We healed the hostages, while Elena was coaching us on how to properly heal, Aya reached level 2 with it.
Some curious adventurers came to the noise to check it out, a [Water Tornado] is quite noisy, so are dozens of [Lightning Bolts] we explained the Orc camp and the hostages, leaving the hostages behind with the adventurers, and ported home.
