Elena remarked: "Now that the army is still far away, the Devils are going to attack the Towns that are vulnerable and catch commoners to turn them into slaves."

"I will mark the leader of that Warband and will try to scare him off. With a bit of luck, he has a [Return Stone] to their main camp, or his Village. Once we have that location we pay them a visit."

We watched their Warband grow until it was about 300 Devils strong, Mai commented: "They must have spies in each Town, probably human bandits that want to get rich fast no matter what sorrow it will cause."

When the Warband was moving away in the direction of Ebisu Town, we ported to the statue, Ringo [Decomposed] the Statue into sand with [Electrolysis].

Lela organized the fight: "Master Seiji, go ahead of that Warband and slow them down, there is a small valley they have to pass through, intercept them at the end of it. We will attack from behind. Princess Elena and Lady Aya will do crowd control, while the rest go full out on the Devils."

Elena said: "A good plan, let's do it."

An hour later, I stood in their path: {Hey goat people! Are you planning a visit to our nation?}

The leader responded: {A hornless is speaking our Holy language! Take him alive, he can translate our orders to the other slaves.}

I marked the leader and taunted them: {Holy language? You overvalue yourself, aren't you? You are just some goats that learned to walk on their rear paws.}

The Devils, angered by the insults, rushed to me and were shot down with [Air Bullet]. I know! I neglected the first [Magic Skill] I got and plan to get it at level 5. today. Although I can't attack with [Tornado], it will scare them off and scatter them.

The leader noticed my resistance and ordered a full-scale attack to overwhelm me: {He is using Magic! Prepare the [Anti Magic Shields}!

To bad that pebbles shot with [Air Bullet] are not Magic attacks, they are just stones launched at high speed and force. The pebbles shot right through their shields, confusing the Devils, they retreated when they saw their colleagues die despite the [Anti Magic Shield].

Once I killed the Devils holding the [Anti Magic Shield], I blew the rest back with [Wind Gust]. This is fun, the Devil's level ranged from ten to thirty, the leader being thirty.

I noticed the girls closing in and taking their position unnoticed while I had their attention fixed on me. Suddenly they let Hell break loose, pun intended, and started to send the Devils back where they belong.

Aya and Elena held back on the big attacks to give Inari and Kacha the much-needed battle experience. Ringo was firing her [Air Bullets] from the back row, she is not a fan of killing, and the Devils look too much like humans to be comfortable. That she is defending a helpless Town made her justify her actions, but she is not happy to do it.

Inari and Kacha let their inner beast lose, both sharpened their swords with [Wind Edge] and slaughtered the Devils by the dozen. When Hilda got her [Fire Whip] out, the leader noticed the battle was lost and activated his [Magic Stone of Return], leaving his troops behind.

A minute later the last one went down, I collected all the [Magic Stones] on their body. Ringo and Lela dug a big hole for the corpses, Hilda cremated the bodies, after that, the grave was closed.

Ringo said: "Can I pass for the next ones? They look too much like humans, I am getting distressed by it. I have no problems with monsters, but these are freaking me out."

We all hugged Ringo, I said: "No problem honey, there are plenty of other things you can do, if fighting wars is not for you, then do something else, like creating Jewelry."

Inari added: "Ringo, you are raised in a peaceful country, we are raised to expect to fight against monsters, to have war and battles. In a way, I envy you for it. It must be nice to travel without care."

Lela got our focus back: "Master Seiji, port Ringo to Ebisu to the Temple, she can explain it to Mistress Butte, and touch the Crystal. Ringo, when that is all done activate your [Teleport Stone] and wait for us at home. We will focus on the other Devils."

I sighed: "No Lela, we all will inform Mistress Butte of the Devil Army, then we all return home for a serious meeting. I just noticed something disturbing about me that needs to be talked about."

When Elena and Lela talked to Mistress Butte, Ringo got [Restoration Magic] at level 1.

Back home we settled down in the living room, I started to explain my thoughts: "Without realizing it I am taking things for granted without discussing it in advance, like taking Ringo along to a battle. Mai, Yurie, and Aya are fighters that love to battle. Elena and Lela are the future rulers of their nation and will do anything to protect it. Kacha and Inari are ambitious and eager to get stronger with Magic and Weapons.

Ringo is an artist, a student, she never fought a battle before she met us, and I took her along without questioning her if she even wanted to do battle. I even never asked Hilda what she wanted or even if she likes to come with us."

I looked at Lydia: "The same goes for you Lydia, working in the Merchant Guild indicates you don't want to be a fighter, yet I took you along without asking. I apologize to everyone and ask that you express your thoughts about this. Being in the [Hero Party] does not mean you have to obey or follow my every move."

Ringo went over to me and hugged me: "Seiji, you gave me priceless gifts, fighting in a few battles is a small price to pay. More than that; it was to defend Elena's country, which means it is my country now too. I just got upset because they looked so human, not like those monsters from the Tower of Sunrise."

Ringo kissed me lightly and continued: "To be honest, I don't like fighting, I prefer to design pretty things like jewelry."

She looked at Elena: "But I will fight to defend our country and family Elena."

Lydia added: "I feel the same Ringo, just this last battle made me realize I am not a warrior. I am more drawn to production Skills like Potions."

Aya grinned at me: "We did level up fast Seiji, personally I think it is a good thing. We are strong now and have a lot of Magic Power. I am not that scared helpless girl anymore. As Ringo said, Delaidos is our country now too and we fight to defend it."

Mai looked at Yurie who just smiled, she said: "Yurie and I feel the same Seiji, both worlds are our home now, and Delaidos is our country, I even feel Demon country is a new home due to grandfather."

"Inari and I are going to be rulers in Beast Country, being able to battle is a big part of it. That Master Seiji is taking us along to do battle against enemies and training us to fight is a great honor and opportunity. We understand Ringo too, this world is peaceful, and going unprepared into war is unsettling."

I smiled sadly: "That is not completely true Kacha, this world has a lot of wars going on, even this country has a long history of wars and conflicts. Our country started even a big one seven decades ago. We tried to occupy the neighboring countries by force, but in the end, we lost.

That made us realize that violence is not always the best solution to thrive. Since then we became traders, and innovators, we trade all over the world now and have friendly bonds with a lot of regions."

Finally, Elena came to the point: "Today's fight proved that we are strong enough to win our battles with fewer people. Lydia, being a Potion Master is an honorable profession, not everyone is cut out or needs to be a fighter. I am not one either, but my position is forcing me to be one, and with Lord Seiji's help I became one. I think it is the hardest on Ringo, from an innocent student to fighting battles in just two weeks is too much. Lydia and Ringo, stay here today and relax, or practice your Magic… Lord Seiji, we need to have a place in our world, we can practice our Magic there without fear of being discovered like in your world."

That last comment got everyone excited, while they were discussing it where, what, when, and how their home in Delaidos is going to be, I checked the Devil leader's whereabouts.

He is currently in a big camp of about a few thousand Devil warriors, I followed his report to his superiors of his lost battle.

{That group of hornless fighters is too powerful to be from this country. My guess is they are from the Empire in the South and want to pick the best ones as slaves, the same as we want. The leader is a male, the rest were all females, which can mean he is acting alone with his group.}

His boss, a Devil with bigger horns on his head asked: {You suggest we leave that Town to that group and focus on other Towns and Villages?}

He answered: {To get the maximum amount of slaves we have to act fast, their army is going back to their home bases. We have to raid them before they arrive.}

The leader frowned: {There have been too many setbacks lately to be a coincidence, too many spies of us were exposed or killed. It was a big surprise they managed to eliminate the Orcs and Goblins without losing their soldiers. Too bad our contact died along with the Goblins, we only have reports from observers that watched the battle from a distance.}

Hmm? That leader can think? If they have any sense they go back home.

The commander said: {We can't let one lost campaign be the reason not to profit from the human armies' absence and raid their villages. According to our observers, the Hornless and One-Horns worked together and lured the Goblins into a trap. We probably won't have such a good opportunity again in years.}

The leader gathered his thoughts and finally came to a decision: {Get another Warband ready, take two thousand men with you and go tomorrow morning for Shinaga Town. If that fails we return with the slaves we already captured.}

Tomorrow? I have to be at work tomorrow! This means we are going to take the initiative now: "I am sorry girls but you have to see this first."

I played the conversation of the Devils back and commented: "I have to be at work tomorrow, Lela, Elena and I will observe the commander with the beacon and scout the enemy camp, and plan our attack. Any girl that wants to help plan it is welcome to join."

Mai said: "Seiji, port Yurie and me to Demon City so I can warn them of the statues."

Hilda indicated she wanted to go along, was ported with Mai and Yurie to the City gates. With a few kisses and a hug, I said: "You have your [Magic Stone of Transportation] to come back, have fun girls."

We found the slaves in the center of the camp, I counted close to a hundred; mostly children and women.

Lela commented: "If we port into the slave pen, and you can put a [Dome Barrier] up, we can eradicate this camp in less than an hour with our [Tornado]. We need Mai, Yurie, and Hilda helping us though."

Elena said: "We phone them and give them two hours. Lord Seiji, Kacha, and Inari need to visit the Temple with the [Body Reinforcement Magic] Crystal. Ringo and Lydia have to come too. The benefits are too great to skip it, and it means another level for Kacha and Inari."

Inari and Kacha were excited, this would be their sixth Magic Power, with this they are going to be above the leaders of the Beast Nation.

The guy at the reception took one look at us and stepped aside, he is getting smart. We paid for it to avoid nasty rumors.

Ringo and Lydia got Level 1, Inari and Kacha Level 3. Aya and Elena gave a quick overview of the new Spells and benefits from the [Reinforcement Magic], especially the gain in strength and Magic.

The Devils were astounded when the attack started in the middle of their camp, a [Dome Barrier] rose around the Slave camp, and a [Healing Dome] appeared above the Portal the Devils use to transport troops. A few seconds later, five tornadoes wrecked the camp, circling around us and slowly moving outside. Lela's Tornado was fed with Hilda's Fire whip, spreading burning oil all over the camp, Elena's Tornado is composed of wind and Ice, Mai and Yurie made one of Wind, Fire, and Earth. Aya's Tornado was fed with her own earth Magic. I dual cast two tornadoes, one git Inari's Fire, the other Kacha's Earth.

To top off the cake, I set my Spirits loose on the survivors, the only ones that managed to escape had a [Magic Stone of Emergency Escape] on them. I was just in time to put a beacon on one of them.

Elena started healing the Slaves, while Lela removed the [Slave Collar] from the prisoners, we let both girls do most of the work to increase the respect and gratitude for the Warrior Princess and her Iron Wall defender. I know, Politics, but if we don't do that someone else will claim the credit.

Inari and Kacha showed their ruthless side when they dealt with the wounded and strays, no doubt trying to raise their level a bit more.

When the last [Slave Collar] was removed we transported the ex-slaves back to their village, Elena brought the slaves from the Capital into the castle to testify about their capture and the battle to free them.

The King had a complicated expression on his face, on one hand, he is proud of his daughter's accomplishment, on the other hand, he feared for his position to be taken away from him and given to Elena.

I made him squirm in his seat when I presented my bill for the task I completed for his country: "Well father-in-law, as I said to Lyle Gewalt, two million Aurums for dealing with the Goblins and Orcs, make it five hundred thousand more for dealing with the Devils. And No, you can't use your daughter as payment. I like your castle though, after some work on it, will do nicely for me and my wives."

With a red face, he shouted: "This is my seat of power! Your demands are unacceptable!"

I looked surprised at him: "Who said I want your seat of power? You can take that throne with you when you move out. I will make a new one for Elena, nothing but the best for my Queen."

Elena smiled at me: "Stop teasing father Lord Seiji. There is still a lot to do before I take my duties on. People, go to your homes and loved ones and tell them what happened to you. The [Hero Party] dealt with the Devils and will prevent further attacks."

I grinned at father-in-law and said to the ones present: "Tell everyone you got liberated by Warrior Princess Elena and Defender Iron Wall Lela, both are the Commanders of the [Hero Party]."

My comment got the tongues working overtime, soon it was all over the Capital, Warrior Princess Elena and Iron Wall Lela fought and won several battles and saved the country.

While we are here, we paid a visit to the church, Minya just closed her food stall and the children began to do the dishes. No new recipes today, just a lecture on hygiene, like never using the knives you cut raw meat with for cutting vegetables, a lot of stores had to close their doors because of that detail. When I was done with my lecture, I showed some ideas for snacks and pastries.

Inari: "And we will be eternally grateful to you for it. We are yours to command Princess Elena for giving us this chance. We will try Lightning."

Hilda gave me a hug and left the Jacuzzi: "I'll be in my room studying brother, good night."
