Chapter 10:
(Okay, we're getting to the halfway point of the game, I think? I may as well spill it now, is that there will be some recovery fluff after the events of the game, and I'm trying to think of a good way to come up with how they come back. And maybe that'll lead to Ruin's events later, I'm not sure. Anyways, enjoy the chapter!)
The two boys and the robo-rabbit made it back to the start of the stage. Freddy was relieved, this ordeal wouldn't continue. Freddy would be fixed and then the boys would be safe, although this would also mean Bonnie would need to leave again to stay with Sammy.
Freddy decided to not be so petty right now, the boys safety comes first. "Well done, superstars-ars-ars!" Freddy had said, still voice breaking from the malfunctions. "Just push that bu-u-utton and the lift will take us dow-ow-own to Parts and Service-s-s-s." Gregory took a deep breath, "Don't worry, Freddy. We'll get you fixed up, then, we'll head to the Daycare or something to hide." Gregory said, trying to think of viable options they could hide until 6AM. Freddy smiled , "There is no-o-o need to worry a-a-a-bout me, Gregory-y-y. Thank you-u-u-u, all the same." Freddy had said, grateful for the concern.
Bonnie lifted up Sammy a little to make sure he didn't fall out of his grip, "We'll be able to go home soon, right?" Sammy asked, tiredly. "Yeah, we will, rascal. I know Link's probably waiting for ya back home, too." Bonnie said. Sammy looked a bit sad, "Yeah, I bet Link's really lonely…but he won't be when I get back home." Sammy tried to stay on the bright side of this situation.
Gregory looked at the two of them, feeling a little jealous in the moment, but that jealousy turned to confusion when he heard sinister laughter.
"Oh—Oh no, what time is it?!" Gregory looked at the time on his Fazwatch. It was only a few minutes to 3AM, and when he turned around, he could see Moon waving at them. "We gotta hide! Moon's back!" Gregory said. Sammy's heart started pounding, "We-e-e-e need to head-d-d to the rechar-ar-ar-arge station! Follow me-e-e!" Freddy frantically said through his distorting and stuttering voice, running to the area of the platform. Bonnie grabbed Gregory's hand and they ran, following behind Freddy!
"Ooh! What's this now? Running away, are we? Wasting lots of precious nap time, the nerve…!" Moon had said, his voice echoing from the halls.
"Over-r-r-r here!" Freddy said, walking up to it, "Wh-What do we do, though, it can't fit all of us…" Gregory said, Freddy looked back. "Bonnie, stay with them." The boys eyes widened, "What?! No! Freddy, you can't—!" Freddy pushed Bonnie and the boys into the recharge station and immediately shut the door. Freddy looked sad for a moment, trying to smile a fading smile, before his body looked like it shut down once again.
Moon's eye flickered blue for a moment and he realized what had happened. "Freddy! Are you alright?" Moon looked over and saw the Glamrock, not looking so good.
"Hold on…" Moon grabbed Freddy's legs and then took one look back at the boys and the bunny Glamrock, his eye turned red once again. "Hehahaheheh…Bye for now, little ones." Moon had said, dark glee in his tone.
Gregory was aggressively trying to get the door open! "We have to follow them!" Gregory said, "Hold on, let's not rush, Gregory." Bonnie advised, "Papa, he took Uncle Freddy! We gotta help him!" Sammy argued. "Boys, listen…" Bonnie was interrupted when Gregory continued, "We're not leaving him here, don't you dare—!"
"Rushing in will only get you guys hurt!" Bonnie shouted, sternly and loudly. The boys shrunk back, Sammy knew Papa wasn't the most temperamental, but it still scared him.
"We're no good if we run in, carelessly. I wasn't just gonna leave Freddy, but we need to calm down. We can't save Freddy if we act brash, okay?" Bonnie said, Gregory and Sammy looked at each other, Gregory was holding back his tears.
"O-Okay. We need to find out where Moon took him." Sammy noticed that his eye started flickering, and it seemed like he was acting weird. "He looked like he was glitching, so I think he wanted to take Freddy to Parts and Service." Bonnie theorized, checking the door. "And…if things weren't hard enough already, the door's locked." The robo-rabbit looked annoyed. Gregory looked at the
"What do we do? We need a higher security clearance or something?" Gregory hoped finding a new pass would be easy this time. Bonnie looked at the door, "Guess so, kiddo. We're gonna need level four clearance." Gregory looked annoyed, while Sammy looked exhausted both emotionally and physically. "There might be an office down here, but I'm not too sure." Bonnie said, Gregory shone the flashlight around the halls they came from.
"There was another hallway on the way here, we could see what's down there, first." Gregory said. "You got enough charge for a walk?" Bonnie nodded his head, "Okay, let's start looking for an office." Gregory thought there had to be one down here, if not, then they'd have to find one back upstairs. The other Glamrock would still be looking for them upstairs, he had hoped.
"I don't think there's a—Wh-Whoa!" The boys screamed and Bonnie was grabbed by something, "Hi, please take this map. Take a map." It was the Map Bot from before, Bonnie's ears drooped in embarrassment, the robo-rabbit sighed.
"Urgh, not again! I hate that thing!" Gregory had said, grabbing the map from it. "Thank you. Please come again." It said, before rolling off. "Hey, maybe you could go bother Monty or someone else?" Gregory asked, rhetorically and sarcastically.
"You okay, Gregory?" Sammy asked, "I'm fine. Let's just look at this map." Gregory scanned the QR Code with his Fazwatch and it received the digital blueprint of the map. "Good, it's a map of the Utility Tunnels. And…yes! There is an office down here!" Gregory said, happily, "There has to be another badge then, right?" Sammy asked.
Gregory nodded, "Come on, let's head through the door." The three of them were all unanimous and walked through the hall, the door leading to something dirty and had none of the colors Sammy had grown accustomed to in the Pizzaplex. "It looks old." Sammy had said, "Well, it's just a storage area down here. Not every place is all bright and colorful like the atrium, Sammy." Gregory explained, before seeing a place to recharge their flashlights.
"Okay, we should be good for now. Gregory, stay close." Bonnie said, Gregory and he walking closely to the next door, leading into another hall with the equipment and crates.
Gregory looked over and saw a silhouette of something moving around, "Bonnie, what's that?" The robo-rabbit looked on and saw, "It's an…endoskeleton. I thought they couldn't move until they gained their AI?" Bonnie remembered the one time Freddy was accidentally given existentialism from learning about how they were endos. "Let's stay on guard. We don't know if it's friendly." Bonnie said, Sammy shining a light on it, staring it directly into the eye. "Uh, the en-skeleton stopped moving." Sammy said, "Is it surprised to see us?"
Bonnie wasn't sure if that was it, this endo just walking around, mostly aimlessly. "You know, maybe he's just jealous of a cool bunny like me." Bonnie simply said, making his son giggle a little bit. "No way! If anyone's the cool one here, it's me." Sammy said, pulling out the Teal Mask.
Gregory sighed as they walked past the endoskeleton. The three of them could hear the endo start to move once again, before turning back toward it, it had turned in their direction. "Maybe it does think we're too cool." Sammy said, "No, Sammy, I think it's sensitive to the light or even eye contact." Gregory said, "Oh, so like the Boos from Mario Bros!" Sammy compared them to, "Uh…yeah, like that. Hey, I have an idea and I'll need your help for it." Gregory explained.
(Later)
Gregory's plan involved him and Bonnie staring and shining the light at the endoskeleton in the front, while Sammy would keep an eye on them from the back. This was very helpful, because the further they dove into the Utility Tunnels, they had found more endoskeletons up and about. He noted that the next room they were in was like some sorta endoskeletons nursery. Except some of the signs of what to tell the robots to do and what not to do in certain situations where spray painted over with purple paint.
"Bonnie, did you and Freddy ever go through anything like this?" Gregory had asked the rabbit, looking around at only the purple x's and checkmarks.
"Again with purple…" Bonnie muttered, "Huh?" Gregory looked confused, before Bonnie snapped out of it. "Whoops. Sorry, rascal. What were ya asking?" He asked the boy, "Do you remember anything about this place?" Gregory asked again.
"Hmm…Nah, not really. Although, I am sorta starting to remember a bit. I obviously know what the right thing is and try to do that." Gregory wondered who would decide to teach any of these endos the opposite of this advice, "I'm betting it was the rabbit lady." Gregory said, Bonnie nodded, seeing that that was the only possible suspect right now.
"Still, if that's what you guys look like on the outside, I like you guys better with your shells on." Gregory said, "Aww, thanks, Gregory. I think we're growing really close here." Bonnie said, still using this time to joke.
"Don't let that go to your head." Bonnie just laughed, "Haha, no promises." He said, making another joke, making Sammy giggle.
"Got a good eye on the endo, kiddo?" Bonnie asked his son. "Uh-huh, he hasn't moved. We should be okay." Sammy had said, the two walking ahead, keeping watch and stagnating the endoskeleton's pursuit of them.
Gregory looks at a nearby plush of Moon, "That Crater-Head's gonna pay for what he did to Freddy." Gregory said, Bonnie trying to calm the boy down. The robo-rabbit wasn't trying to condone his friend's actions, but he thinks he knows enough to figure out why they were acting like this.
"Going to pay, am I?" A voice said quietly and somberly. "And you called me "Crater-Head"? Hmhmhmhmhm…" Moon's voice echoed through the halls, scary laughter being heard from above the ceiling. "I'm afraid you're wrong~. Aren't you little ones supposed to be sound asleep in your beds? If anyone needs to pay for a punishment, it's you." Moon had said.
"Hmm…Well, it looks like someone's sleepy…Sweet Sammy, don't you want to sleep?" Moon said, making the boy panic. "S-Stay away. Bring back Sunny!"
"Not to worry on that part, but I wonder how many more endos you can manage?" Moon ended his non-violent confrontation with his all too familiar chuckle. Sammy was scared of Moon, and wish Sunny was there instead of him.
"I guess I shouldn't have my brother be so alarmed. Back to my room I go. Goodbye for now, little ones." He said on the way out, "Freaking Crater-Head." Gregory had muttered under his breath, "Come on. Let's hurry so we can get back to Freddy." Gregory said
(More later)
These Tunnels were a maze, it turns out Moon wasn't kidding about the few endos that were roaming around this hall, but did he activate them? What if he was just taking advantage of the fact that they were on? These were questions among the two intrepid boys and robot.
"Okay, this is the room! We should find that badge case thing in here." Gregory said, operative word being "should", could they, the only answer was waiting behind the next door.
"Sammy, keep watch outside, while I get the badge, okay?"Gregory asked, before looking around. Sammy nodded, keeping his eyes on the approaching endoskeletons.
Gregory looked at the room, seeing that it was filled with the endos at each wall. "You've gotta be freaking kidding me." Gregory said, annoyed beyond measure. "Bonnie, get ready to run." Gregory warned, coming up with a plan, the robo-rabbit nodded.
Bonnie made sure Sammy held on tight. "Here we go." Gregory had said, grabbing the pass, "Now, let's hurry!" Gregory said, running up to Bonnie for the rabbit to pick him up. "Rascals, shut your eyes!" Bonnie started running out of there, and moved to his side to ram the approaching endoskeleton.
"Boys, keep watch! They can't catch up to us if they're too busy playing Statues!" Sammy and Gregory struggled to keep a tight grip on while Bonnie ran through the halls.
(Later)
Once it was all over, Bonnie put the boys down for a moment in the hall before Parts & Service. "Sorry I held ya too tight, I didn't wanna drop ya." Bonnie said, "You guys okay?" Gregory took a minute to calm himself down, and while Sammy was a bit dizzy from the feeling of shaking. "I'm okay, I'm okay." Gregory said, "I-I'm okay, Papa." Sammy said, and looked at the elbows of his dad's coat.
"Aww, Papa, your coat." Sammy said, noting the tears on his sleeves. "Oh, this old thing? It paled in comparison to my good ol' jumpsuit." Bonnie said, taking off his coat and checking for any scratches. Thankfully, his coat cushioned the impact of some of those rush attacks he did, "Come on, kiddos, we've gotta get Freddy, right?"
The three of them returned to their main and current objective, saving Freddy.
(Okay, I'll leave it here for now. I basically created a loophole for this whole situation. If someone was watching your back during THIS whole weeping angel situation, it could instantly minimize the trouble. Anyways, this was mostly getting the badge, but next chapter will be about saving Freddy. And it seems Bonnie's figuring stuff out. Moon showing up in the hall of the Tunnel was a reference to the idea that Moon was going to play a more active role in this moment, rather than take a backseat, but I couldn't find a big way for him to show up here, so I decided to just have him stalk like he kinda does in the first trailer for this game. Anyways, stay strong and awesome!)
