Chapter 1: Devil in a Mask (2/5)
Fox Boy:
"Keep your eyes open, those things outside didn't kill each other." The girl with auburn hair spoke as she pointed her handgun around.
"You should probably speak louder, because I don't think Jesse and the others heard you from their position. " The girl with black hair replied sarcastically.
The two girls started to move around slowly with their handguns prepared. Fox Boy remained crouched, doing his best to stay out of sight. If the body was discovered, this would complicate things. Fox Boy thought as he moved to another bookshelf as the girls were about to reach the one which he was hidden behind.
"Someone chopped those guys outside, and I don't think it was one of ours." He heard the girl with black hair point out as she moved towards a bookshelf that was on the floor.
"And they were still bleeding," The girl with auburn hair also pointed out as she changed directions and moved towards the bookshelf that he was hiding behind. "You think the bandits came back."
When she moved her head to look at the other girl to say that, Fox Boy grabbed a book that was on the floor and tossed it over the girl's head, with the book hitting another book shelf that was right behind.
"What the?!" She immediately moved around to check the noise, allowing Fox Boy to quickly move towards another bookshelf that was closer to the exit.
"What's wrong?" The girl with a ponytail asked in concern as she approached her.
"Fucking book fell off the bookshelf." With the girl clearly misunderstanding what just happened.
"How?" The other girl asked. "The wind?" It didn't sound like a serious question.
Allowing Fox Boy to repeat the process and grabbed another book from the bookshelf that he was hiding behind and tossed it as far away from the entrance as possible.
"Okay, I'm pretty sure that wasn't the wind." The girl with the ponytail aimed her pistol towards the direction that the sound came from.
"Who's there?" The auburn haired girl asked as she slowly moved towards that part.
As soon as they were far enough from the entrance. Fox Boy rushed towards the exit as quietly as possible, passing through the door with no trouble and made his way to the street where he killed the three infected. I must find a place to lay low until the others arrive. Fox Boy thought as he ran as quickly as he could towards the end of the street in order to get away from the two girls.
He ran, he did nothing but run. With several things on his mind. Like, what exactly is he gonna do? The invasion will occur eventually, but what exactly is he supposed to do until then if his presence there was discovered. There was a blocked path that he decided to pass through. It was probably a bad sign, but turning back was not an option as the clues of his presence could be found easily by a competent tracker.
His orders were to prepare the grounds for the invasion and dispatch the group of marauders. Two died after Fox Boy trapped them in a room filled with infected. Three died after Fox Boy poisoned their drinks. Then he shot the last man by a gunshot to the head.
Now, it's just Fox Boy. Who genuinely disliked what he was doing since the place seemed to be a peaceful place filled with decent people. Why did Reaper decide to attack this place anyway? Fox Boy just kept thinking about the motives of why such a simple town was selected for an invasion. He continued to ponder as he passed through the buildings and houses.Fox Boy had a small idea of where to go since he already explored that area a few days ago, but he would need to search for food or else he won't be able to keep on going.
Suddenly, Fox Boy stopped walking and looked at the sky for a bit. The snow looks lovely... He thought as he slightly lifted his mask up to expose his mouth and stuck his tongue out in order to get a snowflake with his tongue. Once he managed to catch one, a smile appeared on his dry lips. Unfortunately, it didn't last long and he quickly pulled his mask down again. I have to keep moving, it's going to get dark soon. He told himself as he prepared to move forward.
The moment he took a step forward however , he noticed a strange sign.
Ellie and Joel:
"Are you sure he came this way?"
While Ellie and Dina were investigating an area where they found three dead runners. Joel and Tommy showed up out of nowhere and told them that they found a dead man in a house not far from there. Apparently, the man was shot less than an hour ago and whoever did it went that way .
"I saw some footprints." Joel explained to her as they followed a trail. "I'm almost certain he came this way."
"Why did you send Dina and Tommy to warn the others?" Ellie asked in confusion since she didn't like where that was going.
"Because there might be more of them and we have to be prepared for the worst." Joel told her.
They both gallop their horses into the direction of the trail left by whoever that "Fox Boy" was.
"You think they are with the bandits that attacked us last time?" Ellie asked since they might have come back for some retaliation or something like that.
"No idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case." Joel answered since the encounter was particularly brutal and they killed a butch of people.
Ellie didn't like that, he hated when bandits and hunters attacked because unlike the infected, they were pretty unpredictable.
"We need to find this Fox Boy." Because just by looking at the sky, he could tell that there was going to be a snow storm soon.
"Why the hell is he called Fox Boy?" Ellie asked as she thought the name was unbelievably stupid stupid. "Does he look like a fox or something?" Though, it would be funny if he did.
"It's probably just some dumb nickname." A very dumb one if you ask him.
Both Ellie and Joel galloped a bit more, until they were forced to stop due to the path being blocked. "We'll have to go on foot from here." Joel told her as he got off the horse. "Tommy and I blocked this path with the help of some others."
The path was blocked by several cars that they managed to push to block the path.
"Why did you guys do that?" Ellie asked in confusion because the path was now completely blocked to pass any way other than on foot.
"People wouldn't be able to pass through with horses." Joel explained, unfortunately, the decision seemed to have backfired on them now.
"It's now a bit of inconvenience to us." Ellie commented in a slight annoyance.
"Yeah..."
Beyond the path, it leads to an old factory. Ellie didn't really know the kind, she remembered Dina saying that it was a chocolate factory but Jesse was sure that it was a shoe factory. Whatever it was, she wasn't a fan of the idea of going there since it seemed like the perfect spot for Clickers.
Ellie and Joel were forced to leave their horses behind in order to cross the blocked path.
"This was a bad idea." Ellie commented as it was starting to get dark and it seems that a blizzard was starting to develop.
"We won't reach the horses back in time, we have to find some shelter." Joel pointed out, he honestly was regretting pursuing the one called 'Fox Boy' but it was better to be certain that he wasn't going to be a threat.
Both moved forward with considerable difficulty, following the trail that was left. Though Ellie had no idea what exactly they were following since she could barely see anything due to the dark and the blizzard. So honestly, they need to drop this search and find shelter quickly or else they will freeze to death.
"Look!" Ellie pointed at something.
Joel gazed at the direction and saw the building from afar. "It's the factory..." Joel looked around. "It's the only place with the structure intact, we have to get there." Despite the fact that it was probably dangerous since that could be the spot where Fox Boy took refuge as well.
Ellie just nodded as they started to run towards the factory. The blizzard was getting worse as they did, which confirmed that it was going to be a strong one. Meaning that they will have to lay low until it passes. Luckily for them, both managed to reach the entrance.
Joel wasted no time in opening the heavy door and signals for Ellie to enter, which she did. Joel followed behind her and the door behind them.
"Shit, talk about the worst timing." Ellie joked about the situation.
Joel opened his mouth to say something, but before he could do it, a sound was heard.
Ellie quickly looked behind her as she also heard.
But it wasn't the sound of infected , it was music.
She looked at Joel confused, which was mutual as Joel also was. It sounded like a harmonica, but with a slightly different sound.
Joel then pulled out his handgun and passed through Ellie to check.
Ellie did the same and stood behind him with her gun ready.
As they got past the entrance room, they went into the main area of the factory, which was a very large area with several rusted machinery. But one thing that called their attention was the considerable number of infected they saw. There were more than ten dead infected on the ground. All of them seemed to have been chopped by something.
Joel and Ellie walk through the area, following the music that was playing.
Suddenly, Joel signaled Ellie to stop. Ellie looked past him and saw someone sitting there.
There was a lantern in front of him and a sword beside it. The person they saw had his body completely covered. He was wearing a caramel duffle coat with the hood up, dark gray cargo pants, black combat boots and a dark backpack. He was playing a strange instrument, which Joel recognized as a Melodica. But what really stood out the most about the individual was his mask. It was slightly lifted up to expose his mouth, but they couldn't see his face completely. The lower part of his face was smooth, with absolutely no hair on his jaw or chin. The Mask that he was wearing was white.
Ellie actually recognized the mask from a comic book that Dina gave her once. It was a kitsune mask, if she wasn't mistaken.
"Joel, I think he's Fox Boy." She whispered in his ear.
Joel nodded as he already figured that out. He was currently planning on how to incapacitate him without killing him.
Fox Boy:
Fox Boy just sits there, playing a somewhat sad song on his melodica. Pretending that he doesn't know that there's someone watching him. The entrance door makes a lot of noise, which was what attracted the infected and what warned me of their presence. Very convenient. Fox Boy thought as he finished his song.

Questions and Answers:
Okay well hope Fox boy isn't much younger than Ellie
Also saw in the new stories a persona and witcher idea honestly can't wait for those
Freaking love both series don't get me wrong Persona wise I've only been a fan since 3 and my understanding of 1 and 2 is very limited but seeing the Oc replace the Mac for those games as a wild card would be epic
Especially if you have it so the Oc keeps his power so when he gets involved with the group of persona users from number four while they are all level 1 at the start he's level 99 and love that it's a harem pairing
Witcher wise pretty interesting way to have the Oc come about and aside from Ciri hope we see him paired with most of the ladies from the lodge bar Yen due to her and Geralt being a thing I'm assuming so Triss, Keira, Fringilla, Francesca etc etc and also the likes of Anna Henrietta, Sylvia, Meve, Cerys, Saskia, Adda, Cynthia etc
Again hope the Oc is quite powerful like if he has standard witcher abilities well to make a Warhammer comparison which I hope you get if the normal witcher is a space marine then the Oc is a custodes and magic wise hope there's no one more powerful either
Not much, don't worry.
Each storyline of each Persona will take place on a single year after the other and the MC will start as a pre-teen until his late teens.
The Witcher Oc would be a bit of a womanizer like Geralt, but his true love is Ciri. He's basically has Geralt's abilities but Yennefer magic. (He will also carry an modified Musket that he got from Ortolan.) Though he doesn't follow The Witcher's code of Neutrality.
I'm not a fan of the second one but you are doing a great job with this story.
I'm also not a fan.
Half of it was a generic revenge story with Ellie being completely unrecognizable from the first game.
The other half is spend trying to manipulate the player into sympathizing with Joel's killer, Abby (Who's an extremely unlikable character.) While she goes through an undeserving redemption arc where she saves some random Transgender kid out if a hypocritical sense of guilt.
In a narrative filled with: Plot holes, retcons, horrendous pacing, underdeveloped characters, and a very anti-climatic ending.
BUT... there were a few elements that I genuinely liked (Like the conflict between the W.L.F and the Seraphites, which I was way more invested in rather than Abby's undeserving redemption arc.)
So, I'm picking what I liked about TLOU2 and making my own take on the story with my own original character.
