Mike's guest house is nice. If a little lonely. Ricardo sighs and stares at himself in the mirror, tugging at his hair, poking at his skin a little. He doesn't look too great- pale, and tired, and sore after his first match back in ages. But still, it's a good kind of sore, and he smiles at his reflection, relieved when that brings some life back to his appearance. "C'mon," he mutters to himself, turning and venturing back to the bedroom where he changes clothes, once more putting his already worn clothing inside of the bag he'd brought with him.

Deciding he's now acceptable for the day, he immediately goes for his phone and dials the all too familiar number. His face lights up when Sofia answers and he takes a second just to take in the look on her face, the warmth in her eyes, the sound of her voice as she greets him. "Hola, mi hijo."

"Hola," he smiles at her. "Lo siento for bothering you so early, but I didn't want to call Alicia and wake her up. Is she...?" Before he can even finish his sentence, his wife appears behind Sofia and he quiets immediately.

"G'morning, Ricardo," she greets him with a smile. "How are you feeling?" Her eyes flash with concern and he feels a brief flash of guilt for putting her through this while she's so far along in the pregnancy, and everything else going on.

"I'm doing well, how are you all?" He watches closely as Alicia rests her hand off-screen, probably on her stomach, and exhales slowly, wishing he could see how big she's gotten- when she started really showing, it had happened seemingly overnight and startled all of them.

"I'm great," she says with a soft smile. "Your kid kept kicking me awake overnight, though. I think they missed you."

Ricardo's eyes soften. "I'm sorry. I missed them too. And you, of course." She laughs at his awkward attempt at including her in that sentence. "I love you," he tells her softly.

She smiles at him. "I love you too, Ricardo. Please, please tell me this isn't going to become the norm."

He shakes his head slowly. "It won't. I swear. Just now and again." He rests his finger on the screen, wishing he could really stroke her skin, run his fingers through her hair, kiss her until her toes curl and she has to cling to him just to remain balanced.

"Good," she whispers. Deciding to switch topics, they discuss more lighthearted things- like what the dogs have been up to without Ricardo (chasing squirrels at the windows, and guilting Sofia into giving them longer walks, apparently) and Mike and John's latest music video, which Alicia had stumbled upon while looking around Youtube for something to do. "Ridiculous men," she says with a fond, little laugh. Her gaze turns a little more solemn and she peers back into the screen at Ricardo. "I hope Mike was well-prepared for you."

"Oh, yeah, he definitely was. Like, the fridge was piled high of my favorite foods. It was ridiculous." He smiles at her. "No need to worry, Foxy, I'm in good hands over here. And I will be back by your side in days. I swear I won't go anywhere else for awhile."

She exhales. "You'd better not, mister. I'd be pissed if you were quarantined elsewhere when this little one made its big debut."

He smiles at her, suddenly feeling tears fill his eyes. It's really happening, he thinks to himself. I'm going to be a dad in a few short months. My God. "I promise, I would move the entire solar system if I had to to be by your side for that."

She chuckles a little and rests her face in her hand, peeking back at him. "Well, nothing that drastic, I don't think," she says softly, smiling lovingly at him. "But I still like to hear it."
