Chapter 2: Town Shrouded in Masked Shadows. (3/4)

Ellie:

"WHAT?!"

"Seriously?"

"Oh shit."

"No way!"

"Ah..."

Ellie,Joel, Maria, Jesse and Dina, all of them responded differently to what the albino weirdo in the mask just said while holding a strange looking device that had a blinking red light.

"What the he-" Joel tried to say something to him. But he was interrupted by a very loud noise coming from outside.

The noise was very strange but Ellie was sure that she has heard it before.

"Is this... A helicopter?" Maria asked Joel.

"Oh, Jester managed to fix it." Fox Boy commented as he stared at the ceiling before he hugged his knees. "May all of you..." He looked at them. "Requiescat in Pace." The masked boy then moved his head down.

"What?" Ellie asked, as she didn't understood what he said. "What does that mean?" She asked him.

But Fox Boy didn't answer her.

Suddenly, the noise outside started to get louder. With everyone looking at one another in deep confusion. Until Maria spoke. "We need to warn everyone!" She yelled at them as she ran towards the exit, which was something that the rest of them agreed on it. Joel, Jesse, Dina and Ellie instantly followed Maria, but Ellie then turned her head to look at Fox Boy.

"What about him?" Ellie asked as they reached the door. But none of them actually heard her, and quickly went outside to see what was going on. Ellie takes one last look at him, before deciding to just leave him there.

It didn't took long for Ellie to catch on to the others, who were all staring at the sky. Once she got close to them, she was able to see what they were seeing. "What the fuck is that?!" It was the first thing that came out of her mouth once saw something in the sky.

It's a helicopter," Dina commented. "This is the first time I ever saw one."

"I know it's a helicopter, what is that thing tied to it?!" Ellie asked as she saw the big red Helicopter carrying a weird looking container on the color green flying right above the center of Jackson..

"Whatever it is, it cannot be good." Joel stated the obvious.

"Jesse and Dina, go to the armory, tell as many people as you can to prepare and give them weapons." Maria ordered them because it was obvious that something really bad is about to happen. "Ellie, please go check on Tommy and see if he's awake." She requested her.

Ellie just nodded in response before she looked at Jesse and Dina. "What about you guys?" Jesse asked Maria.

"Joel and I are gonna try to evacuate the area that the helicopter is flying above." Maria informed them. "Now hurry!"

Their destinations were all in opposite directions so they gave each other a final look.

"Be careful." Dina pleaded her before giving her a kiss on the lips.

"You too." Ellie replied after they separated.

"Watch yourself." Jesse told her while touching her shoulder affectionately.

"You too buddy." Ellie replied to him before she prepared to run for it.

Joel then grabbed her arm gently. "My gun in under my bed at the house, grab it while you're in the way." He instructed her as his house was on the way and because she will probably need it.

Ellie then hugged Joel. "Take care, okay." It was the last thing she said before she separated from the hug.

All of them started to run quickly towards the opposite directions. With Jesse and Dina running to warn the others and prepare for danger. Joel and Maria running to the area where the helicopter was flying over to evacuate the area as whatever was inside that container could not be good. Ellie running to check on Tommy and warn him about what was going on.

Fox Boy:

After the nice people left him alone inside that cell. Fox Boy just sat there waiting for whatever was coming. If the helicopter was fixed, then it means that Jester is going to be making the drop. Though, he doesn't know which one is the type that they're going to infest the town with.

"Hmmmm..." It was the sound that Fox Boy did as he placed the tracking device that Jester made back on his socket. And tried to tie laces on his boots. Ummm... Sadly, Fox Boy can't really tie his shoes. So he just left it untied and rolled them so won't trip on them. After that, he stood up from the bed that he was sitting down and moved towards the door of the cell.

The masked boy then reached on his left boot and pull something that was hidden there. A lock pick, which he used to pick the cell door and unlocked. You're supposed to lock prisoners here, but the lock is so simple. Fox Boy thought as he placed the lock pick back on his boot and made his way to the other room where he saw the man named Joel take his things. Luckily, the door was open and his things were on top of the table inside.

His red backpack, his melodica, his sword, his handgun, the book that the kind old man gave him and... "Hello Mr. Bunny." His best friend, Mr. Bunny. "Did you miss me?"

"No, you stink." A very cartoonish voice came from his bunny. "

"I don't stink that much." Fox Boy replied to him.

"Yes, you do." Mr. Bunny replied to him.

"You're mean..." Fox Boy replied. "I still love you though."

"I don't." Mr. Bunny replied.

"No one does, but I'll love enough for the two of us." Fox Boy stated while giving him a thumbs up.

"Pathetic." It was the last thing that Mr. Bunny said before Fox Boy put him inside his backpack alongside his other belongings. Then he grabbed his empty handgun which was still on the holster and placed on the right side of his hip. Then he grabbed his sword which was still on the scabbard and place on the belt on the left side of his hip. Last, but not least, he put his backpack on his back and prepared to make his way out.

Once he was out of the place where he was being kept as a prisoner, Fox Boy was greeted by the sight of Jester's Helicopter. A Boeing CH-47 Chinook, they found it in complete ruins but Jester managed to rebuild it in two mouths. Then observed the green container that the Helicopter was carrying. The sharp ones? I guess Venus finished the drying process sooner than expected. Fox Boy sighed. I got to get the stinking spray before they get released otherwise they're going to attack me. He thought sadly, as he can't stand the horrible smell. Last time we used this tactic, I was in the helicopter with Jester. If I recall correctly, he will release the container once an explosion occur. So I have until then to join the others. But, where am I supposed to go? Fox Boy thought deeply. Oh, right, Ghost Head always attacks the Armory first, I should go there.

The Albino boy then decided to make his way to the town's armory.

Ellie:

After separating herself from her loved ones, Ellie made his way to the hospital where Tommy was being kept . But she made a quick stop at Joel's home to grab his gun in case.

She found a box under his bed where his old revolver was, there was something else inside it but Ellie didn't bother to check as she was in a hurry. She just put the revolver inside her jacket before she ran out of the room in a hurry. But then she remembered that Fox Boy camera was still inside the room that they watched the recordings on. So she went there and grab it to show it to Tommy. The moment she stepped outside, she was greeted by the sight of that helicopter once again and she felt exceptionally uneasy. "What the fuck is inside that container?" She asked herself out loud. "And why is taking so long to drop." The anticipation is what is scaring her the most.

But Ellie quickly snapped out of it and kept on running. Passing through several people as she did, she did had am urge to warn them about the danger, but then she would have to stop to explain what was happening and she didn't had the time. Especially considering that there was no way that she could warn everyone in time anyway.

So her best course of action was to go warn Tommy, because him, Joel and Maria were the ones the came up with the ideas of how to combat the threats that came their way.

Joel:

"EVERYBODY, STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS AREA AS POSSIBLE!" Joel yelled as the people distanced themselves from the area.

"What the hell is going on?!" An old lady asked them.

"We're under attack, please get to somewhere safe at once." Maria ordered the old lady while gently pushing her away from the area. "Everyone who can fight, get to the armory and grab a weapon!" She ordered some of the people that were there. Then she looked at the Helicopter. "What the hell is it waiting for?" She was obviously referring to the box.

Joel observed for a bit, before he had an idea. "Maybe he's waiting for a signal or something."

"But what co-" Maria was staying something but stopped in the middle. "Fox Boy." She mentioned the kid's name.

"We did left him alone on the cell." Joel had an urge to slap his forehead for being so stupid. "Too late to worry about him now." He was right, their focused needed to be in containing whatever the hell was about to come. "You got your gun?" Joel asked his sister-in-law as he pull out his gun that was on his holster.

"Yes." She reached inside her jacket and pull out her gun, which was a Browning Hi Power. "What do you think is in there?" Maria as the container moved above them.

Joel had absolutely no idea, but he sadly had a theory. "Whatever was the thing that tossed Fox Boy on that recording with the disturbing looking woman ."

"Oh god..." It was Maria's response before looking at the container once again .

Joel sincerely wished to shoot down the helicopter, but he doubted that a handgun would do the trick and he doesn't think that he can run to get a more appropriate weapon in time, so all he could do, was prepare with Maria and try to contain what was inside that container until Jesse and Dina arrive with reinforcements.

Fox Boy:

Doing his best to avoid been seem, the boy wearing a mask did his best to stay out of sight as he made his way towards the armory. With most of the town's citizens distracted with Jester's helicopter, it made it easy to move without being spotted.

He was running as fast as he could as all hell would break loose on the explosion occurs and Jester releases the container. After a short run Fox Boy had to stop in the middle of the way and hide on the edge of wall behind a house as he saw a large group of people gathering on the street, arguing about the helicopter flying above the town.

A lot of them were telling, probably sensing that something bad is about to happen. With several people either running towards it or away from it.

Fox Boy was just waiting for an opportunity to run past them.

"Hey, who are you?" Sadly, someone appeared from the other side of the house. A man wearing a bald man wearing a long coat.

"I'm Fox Boy." He answered before he placed his left hand inside of the left pocket of his coat.

"Are you one of the patrol man?" The man asked as he approached him. "What is going on, why is there a helicopter here?" The man kept asking questions.

"I'm not one of your patrol man, and basically you're under attack and the helicopter is about to drop one of Venus's creations in the town." Fox Boy bluntly answered the man's question.

"Wh- AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!" The man was about to respond to what Fox Boy just told him, but before he could, the masked boy pulled some blinding powder from his pocket and tossed into the man's eyes. Before he ran pass him, as his screams were enough to distract that crowd that was blocking his way. So he ran around the house and ran for it.

Fox Boy always carries a form of Metsubushi, or blinding powder as it's more commonly referred, inside his coat's pockets as a form of distraction. Sadly for that man, the type that just went inside his eyes was a mixture of dust, ashes and grinded glass.

Ellie:

Finally, after a lot of running, Ellie arrived at the medical area where her arm was treated and Tommy was staying. She entered the place in a unbelievable speed and basically passed through everyone she saw.

Until she finally arrived at Tommy's bed, where he was still laying on top of it, awake. "Tommy!" He was justifiably startled by Ellie's suddenly calling his name.

"Ellie?" He was surprised by her presence. "What is going on?"

Ellie immediately approached his bed, while putting on the footage of Fox Boy fighting on that station on the camera. Specifically the part that showed the amount of people there. "Look." She handed him the camera.

Tommy grabbed the camera with his uninjured arm and watched the footage. He only watched for a bit, but it was enough to cause him to have a shocked expression. "What is this?!" It was his immediate response to it.

"The camera is Fox Boy's, those are his people." Ellie was quick to clarify.

"What?! Enough to fill football station?!" Tommy was visibly horrified by the number of people that the group has it. Before Ellie could explain any further, Tommy kept speaking. "Where's Maria and Joel, we need to come up with a plan to deal with this?" He asked Ellie with a worried expression.

"Too late for that." It was the reply that Ellie gave him.

"What?!" It was Tommy's justified reaction. "What is that supposed to mean?!"

"They're already here Tommy, there's a big helicopter flying above the center of the town." Ellie spoke calmly but she had an urge to yell because she was terrified, but was trying to remain calm.

Tommy on the other hand, was visibly terrified by what he just heard. "Where's Maria and Joel?!" He immediately remove the IV in his arm.

"They're evacuating the area where the helicopter is flying above." Ellie explained as she gave Tommy his jacket which was hanging on a chair next to his bed. "Jesse and Dina warning the others and handing weapons."

Tommy immediately stood up from the bed and put his jacket on with Ellie's help. He was visibly not in good condition but there was no time to wait for his full recovery. "Go help Jesse and Dina with warning the others and I'll go help Joel and Maria." Tommy ordered her as he put on his boots.

Ellie just nodded before she pull something out. "Here." She handed him Joel's revolver because she can get a weapon in the armory.

Tommy immediately grabbed it. "Thank you, now go." He rushed her.

Wasting no more time, Ellie made her way to the exit. "ATTENTION EVERYONE!" She heard Tommy yell to the people around the area, in order to warn them of the threat.

Fox Boy

Once the group that was observing Jester's helicopter left, he resumed to running towards the armory. Luckily, the rest of the way there was relatively empty. So he had no need to evade the town's citizens.

As he approached the town's armory, Fox Boy could see people on the inside from a distance. Oh no, playmates for Ghost Head. The albino boy thought as he searched around for a way inside without being detected. Then he noticed that the roof of the house in front of it was close enough for a jump. That'll do.

He crouched on the ground and slowly approached the house in front of the armory in order to not call the attention of the people there. There were around thirty people on the armory and more coming. Easy targets, Ghost Head's favorite. Standing on the left side of the house, where a gutter pipe was located, using it to climb into the rooftop of the house. Once he was up there, he immediately ran towards the edge and jumped into the armory's roof, nearly falling down on his attempt, but he was able to grab on to the ledge and pull himself up.

Once he was up there. Now I only have to wait. He thought as he sat on top of the armory where he could hear and see people approaching it.

Ellie:

Fucking hell! A frustrated Ellie thought as she adjusted her arm's bracer, which was hurting like hell. The effect of those painkillers I took probably passed. She thought in annoyance as the pain was bearable but unpleasant. I hope Tommy is okay, I'm could tell that he was in bad shape. Worries about Tommy's condition passed through her mind as she ran quickly to join Jesse and Dina.

Although it was the worst time or place to be thinking such a thing, Ellie wondered. Who was the girl that Fox Boy saw Jesse with? It was a minor question that she had on her mind, as she's been trying to figure it out. Jesse has a lot of girls interested in him, but he has been single since him and Dina broke up. Ellie was also going through a break up at the time and the two kind of comforted each other, which ended up leading to their relationship not long after. Thoughts about who was this mysterious girl passed through her head, but she immediately shoved them aside once the sight of that helicopter came back to her field of vision.

"What the fuck is it waiting for?" Ellie asked herself out loud as it has been flying over the town for probably an hour now.

Unfortunately for the girl that is immune to the Cordyceps, the answer finally appeared.

"WHAT THE FUCK!?" Out of nowhere, a very loud explosion could be heard from the other side of Jackson, far away from where Ellie was, but it was still visible.

Fox Boy:

And now it begins. The masked boy thought as he sees the explosion from the roof of the armory. They will probably realize too late that the explosion is just a distraction. Fox Boy thought as he observed the blast. I think the name of this bomb is TallBoy Bomb. He wasn't certain though.

Joel Miller:

"HOLY SHIT!" It was Maria's immediate response as the heard and saw the loud explosion coming from the east side of the town.

"Shit," Joel spoke as he wasn't expecting this. "We have t-" He was about to tell Maria that they had to go and join the others. But he was interrupted by a sound coming from above.

Their wait finally ended, as the helicopter that was flying above the town, finally dropped the container that it was carrying it. Once it hit the ground and made a very loud noise upon impact, the helicopter then suddenly, started to fly away from that spot, leaving the big container in the middle of the street.

Joel and Maria's immediate responses, was point their handguns at the container, but Joel was prepared to run in case of it being too much for them to handle. Which he was already expecting it to be. "If it's too much to handle, run." He told his brother's wife.

Before she could reply however, the container finally opened. Revealing to them what was inside. "Jesus Christ..." Joel and Maria immediately opened their eyes in shock after seeing what was inside the container.

Ellie:

"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!" Ellie cursed as she ran quicker than she did before. It dropped! She was terrified with whatever was inside that container that the helicopter just dropped, so she ran as quick as she could to the armory to find Jesse and Dina, and to arm herself.

Fortunately, the girl with auburn hair finally arrived at the armory, which was filled with people picking up weapons. The armory was originally a music shop, but they decided to use as a storage for weapons and ammunition. As soon as she got close, she saw Dina and Jesse distributing weapons and ammunition around. "Hey!" Ellie called out for them.

"Oh thank god!" Dina immediately dropped what she was doing go embrace Ellie.

"Did you found Tommy?!" Jesse asked in worry while touching her shoulder.

"Yes, he's going to join Joel and Maria." Ellie replied as she and Dina separated from the embrace. "We have to join them as well, the helicopter just dropped the container."

"Yeah." Jesse agreed with her as he grabbed a shotgun. "EVERYONE!" He called out for everyone inside the armory. "SOME BAD PEOPLE ARE ATTACKING OUR HOME AND WE NEED TO DEFEND IT!" He immediately instructed everyone. "I'M GONNA NEED HALF OF YOU TO FOLLOW ME TOWARDS THE SPOT WHERE THAT HELICOPTER WAS FLYING ABOVE IT, BECAUSE THEY JUST DROPPED SOMETHING INTO THE TOWN THAT IS DEFINITELY DANGEROUS!" Jesse spoke loudly and confidently for everyone to hear it. "THE OTHERS HALF, PLEASE GO TO HOUSE AND HOUSE TO INFORM PEOPLE OF THE DANGER AND TO HELP TAKE WHOEVER CAN'T FIGHT INTO A SAFE PLACE!"

After the loud and clear instructions, everyone prepare to make their way towards the spot.

"That was pretty cool." Dina commented.

"I have my moments, which group are you two going with?" Jesse asked them as he placed some shotgun shots on his jacket pockets.

"I'm going with you to help Joel, Maria and Tommy." Ellie spoke as she picked up a handgun and a rifle.

"I'm going with the others to help warn everyone." Dina spoke as she picked up a handgun.

"Can you please go check my mother?" Jesse asked Dina.

"I was planning on going there anyway." Dina really likes Jesse's mother, and the two are still pretty close despite their break up.

"What the fuck are you doing up there?!" Suddenly, they heard someone yelling on the outside of the armory. All three of them moved their head to see who just yelled, only to see Cedric standing outside of the armory, looking up.

"I'm waiting." Shockingly, they heard a familiar voice replying to Cedric.

"Is that Fox Boy?" Dina immediately recognized the voice.

Fox Boy:

While he waited for the arrival. Fox Boy observed people coming in and out of the armory, he saw Ellie approaching but she ran inside before Fox Boy could say hi. But them he saw Cedric approaching it and decided to say hi to him.

"Waiting for what?!" Cedric asked the masked boy. But before be could reply, he saw Jesse, Dina and Ellie running outside and looking at him.

"Fox Boy!" Jesse yelled as soon as he saw him.

"Hi Jesse." He waved happily at Jesse. "Hi Dina." He waved happily at Dina. "Hi Ellie." He waved happily at Ellie.

"Hi." Only Dina waved back at him.

"How did you got out of the cell?!" Jesse asked him.

"I unlocked the door." He replied as he moved his feet while sitting down on the edge of the roof.

Jesse seemed to be about to say something, but Ellie quickly spoke first. "What's inside that container?!" Ellie asked Fox Boy, with everyone else that was inside, walking outside and staring at him.

So many people. The albino boy thought before replying. "The sharp ones." He responded to the girl with auburn hair.

Everyone looked at one another confused. With Jesse raising his hands in confusion. "What the hell are the sharp ones?!"

"They're infected... But... They have spikes all over their bodies." Fox Boy tried to explain what the sharp ones were, but he honestly doesn't know much about them, he only helped Venus capture the infected, he never really saw how she turns them into her creations.

What he said caused everyone around them to look at one another dumbfounded by what they just heard.

"That explosion, what was it?" Jesse asked him calmly.

"I think it was a TallBoy bomb." Although, I'm not completely certain.

"Is that the only bomb your people have?" Dina asked as she hugged herself, probably because of the cold.

"No." He responded, which caused everyone to look worried.

"Are they gonna explode a another one?" Jesse asked him in deep worry.

"No." He responded to his question.

"Why not?" Dina asked him.

"There's no need for a second distraction." Fox Boy replied as he looked at the smoke from the explosion from afar.

"What do-" Jesse was about to ask something, but was interrupted by Dina.

"What are you doing up there?" Dina asked him.

"I'm waiting." Fox Boy replied bluntly.

"For what?!" Ellie asked him, sounding frustrated.

"For the Faceless." Fox Boy replied, while moving his head to the direction that it's opposite to where the explosion occurred. Oh, there they are.

Ellie:

As Ellie stands outside the armory with Jesse and Dina at her side, alongside everyone else. Trying to communicate and take information from the albino weirdo.

Before they could ask anything else, the masked boy stood up from the edge of the roof where he was sitting on.

"Where are you going?" Jesse asked Fox Boy.

The masked boy didn't answer, he just moved back, which completely removed him from their line of sight. Ellie and Jesse just looked at one another, but before they could say anything regarding the situation. Fox Boy, out of nowhere, jumped down from the roof and fell into a pile of snow that was located a dozen steps away from them.

"Nice landing." Dina commented as it was indeed a nice landing.

Fox Boy then stood up from the ground and wiped the snow from his clothes. Then he casually started to walk down the street with his weird robotic walk.

"Where are you going?!" Jesse asked him once again.

"That way." He bluntly told them as he distanced himself from them.

Everyone around them looked at the three of them in deep confusion about the situation. But Ellie needed to ask. "Umm... Should we... Go after him?"

Jesse and Dina looked at her in response, before looking at one another in contemplation.

"I'll go." Dina then spoke. Ellie and Jesse immediately decided to protest, but before they could, Dina intervened. "You two heard him, that container was filled with infected so Joel, Maria and Tommy are going to need all the help they can get." She immediately pointed out to them. "You two are much better shots than me, so it's better for me to go." Dina was a decent shot but she was indeed the least skilled of the three. "Besides, he clearly has information that may help us against his people."

Ellie and Jesse looked at one another, clearly against that idea. But before they could do anything, Dina started to run towards the direction that Fox Boy went to catch up to him.

"Hey!" Ellie immediately screamed for her girlfriend.

Dina turned around for a second. "I'll be alright, just go!" She reassured her.

"For fuck's sake, Dina!" Jesse screamed as she goes.

Suddenly, loud gun shots could be heard from the direction where the container was dropped.

With Ellie and Jesse looking at one another one last time before they made a decision. "Aaahhh..." Jesse grunted in frustration. "LET'S GO!" He called the attention of the group that will go with them and started to move.

Ellie then remembered that Cedric was standing there and decided to do something. "Hey." She called his attention while approaching, as he was looking at Jesse. Only to kick the perverted guy on the balls. "That's for stealing Dina's underwear, you're fucking pervert!" She told him angrily as he grunted on the ground in pain. "Now go get a fucking gun and make yourself useful." Ellie ordered him before she went to catch up with Jesse while looking at the direction that Dina ran towards.

Fox Boy:

As Fox Boy walked down the street slowly to conserve energy for the rest of the day, mainly because he was a little tired from all the running he did and the jumping around. He was also appreciating the place that he was in. Everything will become ugly once the Normandies take the place over. He thought sadly.

"Hey, Fox Boy!" Suddenly, Fox Boy heard someone calling him from behind.

"Hi once again, Dina." Fox Boy waved at the pretty girl. I like Dina, she's nice.

"Hi." She cached up to him and started to walk besides him. "Where you going?"

"That way." He responded while pointing forward.

"But, why are you going that way?" Dina asked him as she walked besides him.

"To find the Faceless." He replied to get.

Dina looked at him with a confused face. "Who are the Faceless?" She asked him.

"They're our soldiers, we call them Faceless because they all wear featureless masks." He explained.

Dina sighed before asking. "What's with your people and masks?" She asked him.

We all must play our parts, you know that don't you. Do you see the pathetic path that was carved by humanity? Or you just see countless proofs that humanity are the real monsters and not the things that are lurking in the shadows? Do you ever wonder the paths that are taking by the commons, by the cowards, or by the fools? Ignorant idiots that are still clinging to something that isn't there. Alive with a real and truthful example. Wearing a disease called hope in their hearts, wearing it, like a mask. Immortal.. as long as the damn masks are worn. This is the truth that many deny and forget, setting their minds on the past and not the future. They all believe that "you" are under the masks you wear.

"We are not that which wears the mask, we are the masks we wear."

Dina only didn't really reacted by what he just said. She just stared at him and Fox Boy just stood there, with his head down, after remembering what he heard the Supreme Leader say once. Then he decided to start walking again.

"Wait," Dina followed him once again. "Why do you people want to take over Jackson?"

"I don't know." He honestly didn't. "They'll probably just turn into a base like all the others."

"All the others?!" Dina seemed surprised.

"Yes, only twenty-five percent of our forces are being used here." Fox Boy explained. "The rest are scattered around the United Estates."

Dina didn't say anything in response, she just looked at him with a shocked expression. "Where the hell are you from?" Suddenly, she asked him.

"Denmark." Though, I remember someone saying that I was half-Greek, but I don't really know what that means.

Before Dina could as anything else, Fox Boy made his way inside a destroyed building that had a broken sign above it.

"Why are you going there, it's empty?" Dina asked him as he entered the building. But Fox Boy didn't answered her, he just opened the door and walked inside. With Dina actually following behind him. "God, of all the places that could have caught fire, did it had to be the arcade." Dina commented sounding very annoyed.

"This was an arcade?" Fox Boy loves arcades.

"Yeah," Dina replied as they passed through the reception. "Last year, we celebrated the birthday of our friend Hillary." She explained as the passed through several ruined arcade machines. "But somebody tripped on a wire and ended up causing some malfunction that caused one of the machines to caught on fire, and the fire kind of sp-" As she explained the tragic story of how the wonderful looking arcade got destroyed, they suddenly were surprised by an awful and near unbearable smell. "Oh god..." The smell caused Dina to vomit besides one of the machines.

"I told you it smelled bad." That awful smell that they were feeling right now, was from the thing that keeps the infected away.

After nearly spitting her guts out, she moved her head to look at Fox Boy. But before she could say anything else, very loud steps could be heard coming from the direction that they were walking towards it. The Albino boy knew perfectly well who was coming their way and quickly pushed Dina into a corner. Then he signalled the pretty girl to be quiet. Dina was visibly frightened but Fox Boy forced her to crouch and stay in the shadows. Then he took a few steps back and prepare for what was coming.

Coming from the end of the hallway that he was standing on, surrounded by arcade machines. He saw Ghost Head, stepping hard and loudly on the floor, carrying a Norinco W89 .50cal without the tripod on his left hand

Following behind him, were a group of fifteen Faceless. The Faceless, like the name implied, all wore completely empty masks that were in the color white. All of them were wearing armor, a form-fitting armored jumpsuit in a dark blue color. They were all carrying the same type of weapons, a combat knife and both explosive and smoke grenades on their belts. Heckler & Koch P2000 pistols as their personal side weapon and H&K MP5 submachine guns as their main weapons.

It only took a few steps for Ghost Head to stand in front of Fox Boy. With the giant man towering over the albino boy, there was only one thing that he was expecting. Without any type of warning, Ghost Head delivered a very powerful right uppercut into Fox Boy's stomach, which immediately caused him to fall into his knees.

"Reaper wants to have a word with you, go find him right away." Ghost Head told Fox Boy in Russian."Expect a punishment for being captured."

Fox Boy lifted up his mask to uncover his mouth, and cough out some blood into. "Y-yes... I'll f-find him r-ri-right away." Fox Boy replied in Russian before couching out more blood.

Ghost Head then moved towards one of the Faceless and grabbed something from their belt, a spray can. Before he sprayed all over Fox Boy with it, covering him in the awful smell that caused Dina to vomit just now. He tossed the can away, before grabbing the handgun of one of the Faceless and dropping the clip in front of Fox Boy, which was carrying the same type of bullet that went on his personal handgun. The Armored Giant then signaled the Faceless to follow him as they walked past Fox Boy, who was still on his knees.

Once Ghost Head's loud steps disappeared and they were all out of sight. Dina came out from her hiding spot. "Hey," She immediately rushed to check on Fox Boy. "Are you okay?" The girl that he met not long ago asked him in a very soothing voice.

The albino boy coughed a little more before replying it. "It wasn't as bad as last time." Since he broke two ribs the last time Ghost Head hit him.

"Last time?" Dina asked him while looking really upset for some reason.

The masked boy reached for the handgun clip. Then he tried to get up, but he had difficulty doing it as his legs kept failing to move him up.

"Here..." Suddenly, Dina grabbed Fox Boy's left arm and wrapped around his shoulder before helping him stand. After s bit of struggle, he was back on his feet, though he did stumbled a bit and only didn't fall down again because of Dina.

"Thanks." Fox Boy said to her with a weak smile on his face.

"You welcome," She said with a smile of her own as she removed his arm from around her. But then she made a disgusted face and covered her nose. "That's the thing that keeps the infected away?" She asked him, only for him to nod in response. "You weren't kidding, it smells horrible."

The albino boy then pulled his mask back down. Before he decided to obey Ghost Head's order. "You should get out of the town before it's too late." He advised her as he really didn't want her to die.

Dina then looked at the direction where Ghost Head went. "Where are they going?" She asked him, apparently ignoring what he just said.

"To the center." He replied.

"Shit!" Dina was visibly afraid. "Ellie and Jesse are going there!"

Thanks everyone for reading this story, you're support means the world to me.

Fun Fact: The new cover image is what Fox Boy's mask looks like.

This thought came to me while reading but I hope Fox Boy is his factions answer to Atriox from Halo

What I mean by this is his faction clearly put him through Hell and what I hope for is they planned for Fox Boy to die long ago and they gave him suicide mission after suicide mission but he just kept surviving and coming back again and again to the point all the leaders of his factions like Reaper, Venus, Ghost head etc started to really fear what Fox Boy could become and you know the fact that he just wouldn't fucking die haha

Essentially the monsters are afraid they've made a scarier monster than themselves they all act like they are the biggest monsters around when in reality they are all scared of one child they "raised" if nothing else wonderful irony

Okay liked Fox taking to the group but liked him getting to meet Dina and very happy that's she's taken a immediate shine and interest in him

I also laughed a good deal when Fox said his age

Also loved how Fox Boy was delivering his news and I hope he gets a game system again one day

Loved Fox revealing to the group to that he's actually been hanging around their town for a while now and was undetected for a while to

Okay please for some comedy gold reveal that the girl Jesse was fucking when Fox found one of his ways into town was a sex doll noticed Fox didn't say anything about the girl saying anything and with how embarrassed Jesse seemed to be I couldn't help but think of this potential hilarious situation

Going to be curious how the town will survive the Normandies

Liked the preview to and hope after it Dina and Fox keep kissing

You're partially right. They indeed keep sending him on somewhat suicide mission, but it's not because they want to kill him. You see, the one who wore the mask before Fox Boy was actually the most dangerous member of the group. Because he had an unmatched cunning and intelligence and was capable of outsmarting everyone that he met or faced, which is symbolized by the Kitsune Mask that he wore (Kitsune are believed to possess superior intelligence.) The way he died pretty much symbolizes that (He died of natural causes, which is a hell of an achievement.) So, they're pretty much forcing Fox Boy (the successor) to try to live up to the mask he wears by basically sending him on exceptionally difficult mission with little to no equipment in order to force him to develop his cunning just like his predecessor.

Dina kind finds his weird behavior and mannerisms cute and endearing. (Ellie will take a while to get used to it, however.)

Expect more moments like that.

He may get one as a gift from his new friends.

Fox Boy was trained in both Stealth and Ninjutsu by Reaper.

Although I do agree that it's hilarious, he was actually doing it with a girl. (Which I think you can guess who was it by the preview.)

They may not...

No, but they do cuddle afterwords and Fox Boy falls asleep while embracing her, and the guys that were hitting on Dina will catch the two together and get butt-hurt that she preferred the Albino Weirdo over them.

hello how are you Eat every meal or not and don't forget to take care of your health What this group possessed would make this group more dangerous than any other group in the story. It will be similar in world war z movie with z nation. Abby's group and Ellie's group We have to work together or we'll all die.
-I wonder how long the little fox snuck into Ellie's base? several days or just a few days
-Abby, have you met fox boy before?
-Cedric might have become the traitor of the group if he hadn't been killed first.
war is coming
If we didn't meet today good afternoon good evening and good evening too

Thanks for the concern.

Kind of. They wouldn't be a match to them anyway.

A few days, he sneaked inside to discover their weaknesses but wasn't able to report them.

No, she never did.

Or he might be the first one to die a gruesome death.

Good morning, evening and night to you too.

dude, I was just about to revisit your Witcher story as you posted this, what are the chances lol

Pretty random to be honest.

Okay, I can already predict that Fox Boy will help them escape the Normandies, but I need to know something.

I can already tell that little Fox Boy will have to face the masked ones but... if this isn't too much of a bother, could like... tell us your inspirations for each of them so we can already know what to expect of them.

Ghost Head: Gregor Clegane, Aka: the Mountain (A Song of Ice and Fire/ Game of Thrones) and Big Daddy (BioShock) Bane (The Dark Knight Rises)

Jester: Puppet (Five Nights at Freddy's) Joker (Fighters Destiny) and Lucas Baker (Resident Evil 7)

Venus: Dollface (Twisted Metal) Dr. Frankenstein (Frankenstein {You saw one of her creations already.}) Dahlia Gillespie (Silent Hill)

Reaper: Geralt of Rivia (Witcher) HUNK (Resident Evil) Man with No Name (Dollars Trilogy)

Fox [Dead] {Replaced by Fox Boy}: Daryl Dixon (The Walking Dead) Rorschach/Walter Kovacs (Watchmen) John James Rambo (Rambo)

Those were my inspirations for the characters. They all take certain aspects of each of the characters I just mentioned.

Will Lev and Yara appear in this story?

They were honestly the only good aspect of Abby's story if you ask me.

Yes, but their stories will be altered as I plan to make changes to the Seraphite (They were literally just a cliche religious cult, that I'm pretty sure was created just so Abby could have human enemies.) Lev and Fox Boy will kind of develop a bond over their struggles with their identity. (With Lev feeling a horrendous guilty over the damage he caused to his family due to finally identifying himself as boy, and Fox Boy's struggle of literally not having an identity.)

What do you think could've done better? Regarding Abby's story in general, she honestly had potential but it feels like they did a pretty shitty job at it?

Abby should have faced some consequences for her revenge. (They try to portray the killing of her friends as that, but it falls flat because Abby didn't seem to give a flying fuck about any of them, except for Owen {The two-timing creep that she had guy-on-guy session of ass fucking on a boat while his pregnant girlfriend was not far away from them. WHO THE FUCK WAS THE CRAZY BASTARD THAT THOUGHT THAT PTSD INDUCING SEX SCENE WAS A GOOD IDEA?!} Not to mention that, even if she cared about her friends, Abby's supposed tragedy of losing her friends to Ellie's Roaring Rampage of Revenge feels more as everyone but Abby suffering for her actions.)

Abby should have actually not received permission from the W.L.F to leave on her quest for revenge. (It didn't make any sense anyway, why the fuck would they allow combatants to leave in the middle of a war, especially a fucking medic {Mel}) and she actually sneaked out to go by herself alone. But her friends decided to search for her and eventually catch up to her, After a long argument they decided to join her. {There''s some really severe implication that she actually guilt-tripped them into following her in the actual story, so this is much better in my opinion, } Which would actually makes them more sympathetic because they were only trying to help her get closure and it makes their deaths more tragic then anything. (I don't think anyone actually felt bad when they died, because they all came out as a bunch of assholes that we were supposed to think were good people through Abby's perspective. The only death that probably shocked anyone was Mel's, but honestly, after seeing Abby's side of the story, Mel just came out as a irresponsible moron that was needlessly risking her and her child's life out of pride.

Once we actually play as Abby, we actually discover that she became a outcast in the W.L.F because everyone is treating her as a deserter and being vocal in saying that she shouldn't been allowed to return after her desertion. Alongside with all of her friends being cold, very distance and even being hostile towards her as they are all actually disgusted with what she did with Joel (Adding that she was actually the only one that wanted to kill Ellie too, but they actually stopped her because they were already disgusted enough with her after Joel. {Which makes ten times more sense than Abby suddenly deciding to be a good person and sparing people for no fucking reason other than plot convenience.) and being exceptionally horrified that they actually helped her do that. (Look, argue as much as you like about the "eye for and eye" crap, but that was fucked up beyond any actual reasoning or justification. Worse when you actually add the fact that Abby's dad was actually a dumbass that got himself killed when he threatened an armed guy with a scalpel, which was clearly self-defense and was done quickly, making Abby's torture even more uncalled for despite her lack of knowledge (Actually, Abby's dad was the only corpse in the operation room, so Joel apparently let the other doctors live, so she probably knew.) about the former.)

Also, make it so that Lev actually dies while tied up in her final confrontation with Ellie. And instead of a dumb and unnecessary final fight, Abby (Completely broken at that point.) actually just begs Ellie to just kill her, but Ellie doesn't comply in order to let her suffer for everything she lost because of her revenge just like she did. (The fact that she got to walk away scot-free after only suffering some light torture with Lev was pretty disgusting. {YES! It was light torture, because the fact that she could still walk afterwords, carry Lev around and have a fucking fist fight and almost beat a girl that had a fucking knife only says that she didn't got tortured that much.}) Pretty much establishing that both gained absolutely nothing with their revenges and actually lost everything because of it despite Abby (Hollow) attempt of redemption through Lev.

That was actually my biggest problem with the entire story, it literally revolves around the "Revenge is Bad" crap. But the only one who that seemed to be applied to is Ellie. The narrative seems to consider her quest for revenge to be as bad as, if not worse than, Abby's, completely disregarding the fact that Ellie was actually forced to witness Joel's death at Abby's hands (While Abby just found her dumbass of a father dead already), and none of the Wolves ever help her, unlike what Joel did with Abby, something that Ellie lampshades to Jessie. Not to mention Abby and Ellie's respective scenes involving the murder of pregnant women. Ellie kills Mel, and when she sees Mel's baby bump, nearly has a panic attack and clearly wouldn't have done it if she had known Mel was pregnant. The opposite Abby who gleefully winds up to slit Dina's throat upon learning that Dina's pregnant, and only stops because Lev is horrified that she would do that. While Abby's entire arc hardly has anything to do with her revenge. Being portrayed as having undergone redeeming Character Development after brutally murdering Joel as revenge for their killing her father, realizing it wasn't worth it (It's super easy to realize that after you actually got your fucking revenge isn't?) and thus deservingly getting better off than Ellie, who would remain consumed with revenge until the ending. Which rang hollow to many players due to Abby's continued cruelties throughout the game and the fact that she literally didn't suffered any consequences for her actions. (Many people keep arguing that her losing her place in the W.L.F [The home that she abandoned while they were in the middle of war to go chase her revenge, ditched a second to help two random people that she literally just met purely out of self-interest because she was feeling a hypocritical sense of guilt and ultimately betrayed and murdered people she knew and lived with for four fucking years for some random transgender kid that she knew for less than a week.], all of her friends dying [The ones that she guilt-tripped into following her steroid junkie ass to traverse a extremely dangerous environment {during winter time none the less} based purely on a completely loose lead that she got from very questionable sources so she could get her revenge. Whom she was also willing to drag into a confrontation with Jackson, ignoring the fact that they were completely outnumbered and outmatched, and the fact that she was planing on having them torture innocent people just to get Joel's location, hasn't she conveniently found him right away due to a unbelievable coincidence. And completely forgot about them once she met Lev and Yara] and being tortured and starved (Not so much apparently as she was still in good enough shape to have a fist fight with a girl that had a knife and almost win. Not to mention that it's pretty nonsensical to feel sorry for her ass, since she herself tortured someone way more brutally earlier in the game with no fucking necessity other than satisfy her blood-lust {As a guy who got hit in the leg with a golf club once, I can tell... IT FUCKING HURTS LIKE HELL.} So yeah...

The overall message that this game ended up conveying was:

Revenge is bad if you're Ellie but it's great if you're Abby.
