Hey there, let's have fun here this is my main purpose on this fic. Komi is one of my happy places and nothing serious will ever happen, because there are no cliffhangers or super dramas around this series, even My Dressed-up Darling have all that and kind take me off from this. We are going to do the Tadano backstory and the dress chapters. We will have a big chapter and its going to be funny in the end.
Also, in terms of My Hero world the USJ hasn't happened yet and it will take a little longer for the Sports festival to happen. The timeline in My Hero are a mess, if you think about it Izuku had the first day, then second day he had the battle against Bakugo, then the USJ happen the next day, after that they get a week of school and then the Sports Festival happen. This is why time will drag in this world, thank you all now let's go.
A year ago
Tadano Hitohito wasn't a typical Middle Schooler, he view himself as not an ordinary person. He felt as if he was the protagonist of a Shonen Manga, just waiting for the time that his life would change forever, he knew from an early age that he wasn't fit to be a hero and he was ok with that.
He was a so-called `chuunibyou``, however he felt as if he was the king of them. He did things like poses, buying stylish key chains and trying to look like he was posing for someone. As you can imagine it was very embarrassing when you stop and think about it.
"Morning Tadano.'' Said a middle school Najimi using a boy's uniform.
Najimi was confused as Tadano didn't answer back, however he moved his head to the side for no reason.
"Uh what was that?'' Asked Najimi.
"That was close. It would have been if I hadn't dodged that.'' Said Tadano all serious. He was doing one of the main things that a chuunibyo does, dodging invisible attacks from nobody even when that school had invisible people.
"Hmmm is that so? Ok, did you finish today homework?'' Asked Najimi.
"No.'' Said Tadano blushing.
While Tadano and Najimi went to their classroom Tadano spotted someone speaking with a group of girls.
"Kawai-san.'' Thought him all red.
The girl was Tadano-kun crush ever since he was a little kid. She was the most beautiful girl in the entire middle school, she was popular, intelligent, had a great quirk and even came from a rich family, she was every young boy dream.
However, even with his crush nearby Tadano went back to his ``edge`` style, when a student bumps into him.
"Oh sorry.'' Said the student.
"The hell are you doing? Look where are you going!'' Said him all over the top, it was one of the things that chuunibyu did which was to look cool in front of girls.
Tadano wanted to confess his love for Kawai before Middle school was over. She had big plans and everyone knew she was going to achieve them, Tadano felt this was it or not.
After Lunch break Tadano called Najimi for an emergency talk.
"Najimi , today lets do ``that``.'' Said Tadano.
"Uh ``that``? Which is?'' Asked Najimi.
"I am going to confess my love for Kawai-san.'' Said Tadano all serious.
"Oh really? We are going to do ``Operation L``?' Asked Najimi.
"Yes! I am more ready than ever!'' Said Tadano.
"Alright, go get her tiger!'' Said Najimi all supportive.
Tadano was ready to scream to heavens, but there was teacher passing by and Tadano buttoned his uniform and even bowed to him, despite being on a edge phase but he didn't wanted to get yelled at.
A little later
Tadano worked on the Middle School field while Najimi got Kawai attention. After almost an 1 hour work on a hot day Tadano wrote ``Love`` in the ground and soon Najimi brought Kawai to his attention who saw the whole message, so it was time for the confession.
"Yo Kawai will ya give mah feelings a listen? I have always liked you so…'' Said Tadano being honest and opening his heart until Kawai stopped his talk.
"I'm sorry.'' Said her much to Tadano confused.
"Eh?'' Asked Tadano confused.
Tadano felt time slow down and everything apparently freeze around him as Kawai words crush his heart.
"Well…you look like a chuunibyou, so it's kind of…lame.'' Said her all simple as she left Tadano all froze in place as he tries to recompose himself.
That was the most impactful day in Tadano's life, he tried to recompose himself mentally or try to make an edge one liner to say, but he decided…enough.
"From now on, lets try not to show off. Normally, let's just live life normally.'' thought him.
Tadano didn't know if Kawai hated that style and if he could had a chance if wasn't like this. He even wondered if a girl would ever like him after that fiasco, if this was High School his social life would be over.
While he thought for a few minutes Najimi arrived with a bunch of people.
"Hey Tadano, did it work? Everyone wants to celebrate the new couple!'' Said Najimi all excited.
Tadano didn't move an inch as he was still sulking and starting to make new life choices.
"What happened?'' Asked Najimi confused.
Needless to say Tadano barely spoke through the rest of Middle school year, while Kawai-san also barely spoke about the event.
A year later at UA
Najimi was telling that story for Komi, she wanted to know a little bit about Tadano past. Najimi sensing the opportunity started to tell the infamous ``Operation L`` day.
"So, you see, Tadano pretty much ended that entire page of his life. He wanted to be special from others but after that whole event he went back to what he was originally was. Although it was pretty funny to be around, I am right Tadano?'' Asked Najimi.
The two looked over Tadano and he appeared to have his life taken out of his body, he wasn't even moving an inch after hearing that whole story again, the most embarrassing moment of his life.
"Tadano-kun?'' Asked Najimi.
Tadano even hit his face on the desk, pretty much looking like he had no life left in his body.
``Oh my god! He is ok?``
"Nah, he is just in shock. Let him just take a moment and he will back to normal.'' Said Najimi making Komi feeling calm again.
Komi however was interested in learning to what happened to the girl that Tadano had a crush on it.
``What happened to this girl?``
"Oh Kawai went to apply to Seiai Hero School, and she even got in. With her quirk and her intelligence, I bet she will be a top 10 hero in no time.'' Said Najimi with a smile.
``Is she in touch with you?``
"No, she decided to focus more in her hero studies. Its ok, I had a lot of friends who stop keeping in touch with me due to situations that happened with them, life is like that.'' Said Najimi.
``I hope she has a chance to see the new Tadano.``
"Yeah, hey Tadano do you still have that chuunubyo outfit? I always thought you looked like a manga character.'' Asked Najimi with a smirk as they wanted to make more fun of Tadano.
While Najimi was laughing Tadano now as somehow sunking even more and he felt he wanted to dig a huge whole and burry himself there.
"Why did they brought that story back?'' Thoguht Tadano in pure horror.
Najimi was just laughing of that scene while komi was very worried about her friend safety.
Later
Once Tadano got his senses back he was ready to continue with his day, Najimi was still being themselves and being very social as always. As the class finished, and people were going home the trio were wondering on what to do. Tadano then saw a bunch of papers in Komi desk.
"What is all this?'' Asked Tadano.
``Nakanaka gave me these papers. I don't know what is about it.``
Tadano looked at those papers and saw the dark and crypt writing of Nakanaka, which made him a bit confused.
``Lend me your power!``
"Uh?'' Asked Tadano confused seeing that.
"Can I grab some of those?'' Asked Najimi.
"Why do you want all these papers?'' Asked Tadano confused.
"I can't tell it.'' Said Najimi with a smile.
"This can't be good.'' Thoguht Tadano.
As the two cleaned Komi desk Najimi soon got a question right out of nowhere.
"Hey Komi, where do you buy your clothes?'' Asked Najimi making Komi nervous.
"!''
"Calm down Komi, it was just a simple question.'' Said Tadano trying to make Komi calmer.
"Yeah, I am just curious about what you usually wear. I just seen you with the uniform.'' Said Najimi and then Komi brought her answer.
``I never bought any myself. ``
"You don't!?'' Thought Tadano and Najimi were in shock. Komi was this old and never bought some clothes herself.
"Errr, then on your days off, where do you like to go?'' Asked Najimi.
``I realy leave my house.``
"That's a bit sad Komi.'' Thought the two.
Najimi saw that Komi need it help and badly, they saw that Komi could be the shut in type and that couldn't be good for a high schooler, specially one with status as the beauty of UA.
"What about if you have a quirk transformation? Does it have to be a specific brand of clothes?'' Asked Najimi.
``We buy from regular stores; I rarely use my quirk at full when I clothed. ``
"Wait what?'' Asked Tadano now blushing.
"Oh so your parents buy first and adapt at home. Smart, a lot of people do that because it saves a ton of money.'' Said Najimi.
"Isn't a bit confusing how clothes on some people with different quirks works. I mean I seen them wearing, but I don't know how they got in.'' Said Tadano a bit confused, because he never asked someone with a mutation quirk on how they buy their clothes.
"Oh come on Tadano! Do you know how fashion works on the current world?'' Asked Najimi.
"No, I have no idea at all.'' Said Tadano being honest.'
"Well, me neither, but we are just here to try to get a nice combo for our friend!'' Said Najimi all excited.
``What a great heart you have Osana.``
"So pure!'' Thought Tadano in the edge of tears.
"Well, then let's go buy some clothes together!'' Said Najimi all excited.
"!" Expressed Komi in shock with her cat ears popping out.
Komi then started to write in her notebook again, shaking even a little bit.
``Well I appreciate your feelings, but I'm scared.``
"Scared!'' Thoguht Tadano confused.
"Ahhaha, there's nothing to be scared of! Both Tadano-kun and I will be there for you! Right?'' Said Najimi looking at Tadano.
"Eh!? I am going too?'' Asked Tadano.
"Of course you are!'' Said Najimi.
Tadano started to look a bit nervous as both Najimi and Komi who were looking at him with interest.
"Is this okay? Is it really okay for a guy like me to accompany `a girl`` during her shopping? And that too for clothes! I mean, as they'll be changing and stuff, isn't it better if I skip?'' Thought him.
Tadano then saw Komi reaction and she looked like she couldn't even make a decision at the moment, if she wanted to make Tadano come or not.
"Well, you need to go or I will be without an interpreter.'' Said Najimi.
"You can make clones, cant they help Komi explain things with you?'' Asked Tadano.
"I can make a small gang, but they all will have my face. Komi feels easier with you then I have no other choice, please Tadano!'' Said Najimi making a face towards Tadano.
Tadano saw Komi still wondering if she wanted to force Tadano to come or not, he felt it would be better for him to be there to help her. After a minute he gave a deep sigh and gave his answer.
"Alright.'' Said Tadano.
"Good, now for an event like shopping we need more people to go around. I know who to call, hey Agari-chan!'' Said Najimi calling out the green haired girl.
"AAAAH!'' Scream Agari all scared and even making some objects move around because of her quirk being activated by her being scared.
"Are you busy this afternoon?'' Asked Najimi.
"No, I had nothing in my schedule.'' Said her.
"Good, wanna come with us to buy clothes for Komi?'' Asked Najimi.
"Really, me choosing clothes for Komi-san?! Of course!'' Said Agari all happy.
"Great! Then lets go gang!'' Said Najimi all excited.
The group went out of the classroom, not noticing someone looked at them all happy and even following them to the mall.
At the Mall
The group went to the mall which was filled with people of all quirks and all ages. Strangely there weren't that many students from UA, which left everyone except Najimi a bit confused.
"Alright, the clothing department is on the third floor.'' Said Najimi.
"You know this place?'' Asked Tadano.
"I come around often with other group of friends.'' Said Najimi.
"So how do you manage to tangle things with so many…oh right, clones.'' Said Tadano remembering Najimi quirk.
"Yeah, I already have two copies on this building alone helping me around. I have 10 more minutes before my time reach its limit so we can be at peace and…'' Said Najimi when suddenly they hear a scream
"AAAAH! Komi-san! Oh my what a rare coincidence.'' Said Yamai who apparently followed them.
Tadano and Najimi after that whole episode knew very well that she followed them and was stalking nearby.
"That wasn't coincidence at all.'' Thoguht them.
"My my it feels like fate as we are all together, I am right Komi?'' Asked Yamai.
"You definitely heard us, but we are too lazy to deal with this right now, plus more people is fun to do it.'' Said Najimi.
"Ah thanks Osana.'' Said Yamai going near Komi who was a bit confused.
The group soon arrived at a clothing store with various types of different units. It range from regular person, to a monster size one.
"Welcome!'' Said a employe of the store going toward Komi.
Komi started to shake all nervous because she didn't expect to interact with someone over there.
"Ah, that's a cute shirt, isn't it?'' Asked the employee showing Komi a skirt that would match the shirt. Soon Komi started to shake in fear.
"Komi!'' Thoguht Tadano in worry.
The group took Komi out of the store, and she was now hiding behind Najimi. This is a situation where they had to think outside of the box.
"Komi what kind of clothes do you like?'' Asked Tadano much to Komi confusion.
"You do have some casual clothes, don't you? Like the ones in the store.'' Said Najimi pointing at the mannequins.
"Yeah yeah! Like mode or girly, feminine, casual, gyaru, harajuki, street, punk, gothic, low class, swampy and so much forward. What is your type of clothes?'' Asked Yamai.
Komi soon took out her notebook and wrote her answer.
``I usually have my mom buy them for me, so I don't know``.
"Mom!?'' Thoguht everyone in shock.
``I don't think about how I need to buy new clothes when I am going out, but I don't know what to wear when I am at the boutique.``
"I know what you mean!'' Though Tadano and Agari having a sense of sympathy. Soon after that Najimi had an idea.
"Alright, let's start the ``have Komi-san wear what I choose`` coordination begins!'' Said Najimi out of nowhere.
Najimi then explained the rules, everyone had choose different stuff for Komi to wear, as long it was on the budget that she had on her pocket. As long it can fit the requirements you can choose whatever you wanted.
"Hey, cant we just decided something together?'' Asked Tadano confused but the others were serious.
"Time to show you all what I've got.'' Said Yamai.
"I…I…I can also Komi-san clothes. I'll try my best!'' Said Agari shaking.
"Ah it's too late. They're totally into it.'' Thoguht Tadano.
"Ok! Ready go!'' Said Najimi.
The four went inside of the store too look for what was best for Komi to wear and also be limited to the budget that they were instructed.
Komi however stood still outside of the store, too scared to look around by herself. She was so perfectly standing in that people thought she was a mannequin.
''Look at that mannequin. It's gorgeous.''
'Yes, it's like a piece of art.''
"It's so shiny. I can't stop looking it.''
"Do you think someone will mind if I take her?''
"You are going to be arrested.''
Komi just kept hearing people talking about her, she just kept quiet and was shaken even more in anxiety. Luckily Komi fear was soon over as Najimi called her.
"Komi we are ready!'' Said Najimi.
Komi followed Najimi to the dresser room as she gave where her clothes would be waiting.
"Ok Komi, change it and reveal everyone how gorgeous you will look.'' Said Najimi with a smile.
Komi was at first a bit nervous but soon she left the changing room. Najimi choice felt like a classy Chinese dress that show that showed off her legs and a nice view of her chest which was pressed.
"Woah! I knew the Chinese dress would be the best!'' Said Najimi all excited.
"You just wanted her to wear that.'' Said Tadano not liking that.
Najimi got a total of 34 points, not the highest score
Then it was Yamai choice, which lost in all the categories. First of all it was over price and surpassed the budget, it show even more of Komi legs, the shorts appeared to be tight and Komi feel naked while wearing those clothes.
"Eh? The price? Don't worry, ill buy it for you!'' Said Yamai drooling.
"That's too much.'' Thoguht Tadano.
Yamai was disqualified for breaking the rules, she felt a victory because Komi wore the dress she chooses.
Then Najimi went a second time. Their choices were glasses, a modest top and bottom, glasses and headband, even the sandals were cute. A massive improvement.
"Hey, didn't you went already?'' Asked Tadano.
'That was just a joke, this one is my honest opinion.'' Said they.
Najimi second choice got a total of 41 points, a massive improvement and even Komi liked very much.
Then came Agari turn, and it was unfortunately all lame. The green haired girl wasn't the best in fashion, so she chose a lame teddy bear t shirt, childish shoes and baggy pants. She was the only one that liked, and the rest felt this was the lamest choice of them all.
"Why? Isn't it cute?'' Asked Agari with a total of 18 points, the worst of them all.
Now it was Tadano time, he was super nervous, but the others wanted to see what he picked.
"I just picked random things, I am not the best in terms of fashion and what people tend to use to look cool. I don't know if those are the best picks and…'' Said Tadano all nervous but Yamai cuts him.
"Save us the virgin excuses and hurry up!'' Said Yamai.
Tadano went all nervous towards Komi dresser who was hiding behind the curtain.
"Ah, if you would please.'' Said him giving her his choice.
Tadano picks was a one-piece dress and a pair of sandals. The white dress and the sandals matched with Komi face so much that even people who weren't part of the game stopped what they were doing so they could see the beautiful girl coming out.
"This it!'' Said the rest of the group as Tadano was declared the winner of the game.
Tadano was just happy to see that Komi had a good time and she bought clothes with her friends.
"I am glad that everything turned out ok.'' Thought Tadano.
"Lets pay and show off this cute thing to the world!'' Said Najimi all excited.
The group was all cheerful and went to the register to purchase Komi dress, the shy girl was still a bit nervous but with her friends she felt a little bit at ease.
At another part of the shop
Mountain Lady was with the top 10 heroes Edgeshot and Kamui Woods. They were doing a small team up and they were going to do a patrol near the shopping district.
"Alright, we need to move around South, the clues lead at that direction.'' Said Edgeshot.
"Understood, this sounds plausible.'' Said Kamui Woods.
"Sure, but first I need to pop out somewhere around here.'' Said Mountain Lady with a smirk.
"What is this time, Yu?'' Asked Kamui Woods.
"There is a promotion on Takoyaki, I need to grab them before they are sold out! Maybe I wear my sexy body to get some for you all.'' Said her with a smirk.
"What!'' Said the two.
The heroine ran off to get her lunch while the other two just shook their heads.
A few areas nearby
Mountain got her Takoyaki was ready to eat them off, however she saw a bunch of people standing around and looking at something.
"What is going on?'' Asked her confused.
The heroine wanted to see what was the whole deal, she already hated when people didn't pay attention to her.
"Hey, who is walking…'' Said Mountain Lady pissed but then she saw Komi.
Seeing the beautiful girl walking around with the white dress made the heroine feel at ease, stop complaining and even dropped some of her Takoyaki.
With the others heroes.
Kamui and Edgeshot saw Mountain Lady coming toward them, she looked like she saw an incident or something else.
"What where you? We have an area to look over.'' Said Kamui Woods.
"Yes, what happened there that made you stop and look in odd?'' Asked Edgeshot.
Mountain Lady just had a smile on her face, she felt much calm upon seeing Komi.
"I saw an angel.'' Said her all happy.
"Eh?'' Asked the two pro heroes confused.
The heroes just went to do their patrol while Mountain Lady just wanted to know if she was going to see that beautiful girl again.
So yes, we had Tadano backstory, and it was so much fun to write. Now that we know a lot more about Kawai ever since that incident it makes things much more interesting. We will see her before the work study of other schools. I liked the idea of her being a Pro Hero and I even gave her quirk in one of the earliest chapters.
The dress chapter was nothing special and I even had to copy most of the stuff from the manga and it was something I wanted to do with a fun time.
Mountain Lady part was something I felt would be hilarious and I know one of the criticism of the manga and the anime is that Komi is seen as a goddess by everyone else, but hey we idolize people for their appearance so why wouldn't people treat Komi like that.
