16#Evan's Story.
"Then after that, we headed out Trick-or-Treating. We got a lot of candy that night. Our bags were so full, we had to drag them all the way back to my place. We had a Halloween party at Fazbear Frights Pizza earlier that day after school." Tyler said, lying on his back on the chaise lounge in Dr. Stine's office at the hospital, having finished telling him the story of 1982's Halloween night with his friends, Evan, Charlie and Sammy. After school had let out for the day, Terrance picked Tyler up and brought him straight here for his next therapy session. Miss Tisher hadn't approached Terrance about the episode Tyler had in Math class earlier that morning, nor had Mr. Stranger advanced toward him about his session with Tyler-most likely due to confidentiality, much to Tyler's relief. But he didn't put it past Miss Tisher to call his Mom at work and let her know what happened.
"Sounds like a Halloween to remember." Dr. Stine said, sitting in his sofa-like chair.
"It was. I call it 'The Last Halloween'. I've been calling it that since May 11th of last year." Tyler said.
"What exactly happened on May the 11th?" Dr. Stine asked. "I mean, i know what you're Dad has told me, which isn't much. Other than the fact that you're here because you need someone to talk to."
"May the 11th is a very hard day for me to re-live. Right next to May 5th, so let's never mention it again after today." Tyler said.
"Of course." Dr. Stine said.
"Promise?" Tyler asked as he looked at Dr. Stine.
"I promise." Dr. Stine assured.
Tyler returned his gaze back to the ceiling. "Remember how i told you about my best friend, Evan, the first time i was here?"
"Yeah." Dr. Stine said.
"Well...now i wanna talk about what happened to him. I mean, i don't wanna talk about what happened, not really, but...at the same time, i know i have to talk to someone about it or i'll go crazy with guilt." Tyler said.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Go right ahead." Dr. Stine said.
"Okay then. Here goes." Tyler said before a long pause. "It was the night of May 5th-1983...and Evan and i were at Fredbear's Family Diner, celebrating his 9th birthday with our friends, Charlie and Sammy Emily. Aside from the fact that the place was empty due to no one else showing up for the party, everything was fine. I mean, we had pizza and sodas, ate some of Evan's cake, played some of the arcade games, danced to the songs that were playing. Other than the place not being pact full of people like it normally was during the day, it seemed like a normal night at the diner. Then..."
"Then what?" Dr. Stine asked.
"Then that's when Evan's older brother, Michael, and his literal gang of friends showed up. They weren't even suppose to be there, they weren't invited. But they came anyway." Tyler said.
"How could Evan not invite his own brother to his birthday party?" Dr. Stine asked.
"You don't know Michael. He was a...he was a derk. He was an airhose." Tyler said.
"I think you mean-"
"I know what i mean." Tyler said, cutting Dr. Stine off. His Mom had raised him never to use bad words and he never had, not even when he wasn't around her, so he made up his own kid friendly ones at the age of 9. Like derk, airhose, flip, shiz, den, denit, dag-denit, crab and hill. Of course he never used them around her, only Evan and his other friends. Sometimes Michael too. "Anyway, yeah. Yeah, he was both of those things. It wasn't a secret either. He always enjoyed torturing Evan by scaring him every chance he got."
"I see." Dr. Stine said. "And did he ever pick on you?"
"A few times, but not very often." Tyler said. Tyler had been on the recieving end of Michael's bullying a few times from 1982 to '83 and it wasn't something he wanted to re-live by talking about it.
"So what happened at the party?" Dr. Stine asked.
"Well, as i said before, Michael and his friends showed up un-invited, they made fun of Evan like always, called us names...and then they..." Tyler stopped.
"They did what? What did they do?" Dr. Stine asked.
"They ambushed us." Tyler answered. "Two of them held us back while Michael and the others stuck Evan's head inside the mouth of the Freadbear animatronic. I had managed to break free from the guy that was holding me back and i rushed onto the stage and tried to pull Evan out of the robot bear's mouth, only for it to bite down on his head, crushing it. The only part that hadn't been totaled was his face. Mr. Afton called 911 and an ambulance arrived and took him to the hospital, but the doctors couldn't do anything for him. And after five days of being in a coma...Evan passed away." He explained before he felt the tears coming. "I'm sorry. Can-can we stop?"
"Sure. I think we've talked enough today. Go home and get some rest. We'll continue this topic in our next session tomorrow after school." Dr. Stine said.
"Thanks." Tyler said.
