Hey y'all, it's gothchic6 back with another chapter of Silver's Skater Girl! I've been diligently working on this new chapter since I posted back in February, but my poor computer died recently so I've had to finish the chapter on my phone. Sorry for taking so long lol. Here's to hoping I can resurrect my dead laptop soon so I no longer have to type on this annoying ass phone keyboard.

And days after finishing this chapter and the paragraph above, my computer resurrected and finally let me post the chapter. My phone document manager was being weird with the format so I had to wait for access to a computer to post.

Thank you to both F1utt3rShI and thiagonicokas1221 for both following and favoriting. I appreciate your support and willingness to follow this story.

Disclaimer: gothchic6 does not own Pokémon. She only owns her OCs.

Silver's Skater Girl Chapter 24: Burn Baby Burn:

*Calypso's POV; 7:45am; Ecruteak City*

My sleep is very rudely interrupted by Tina shaking me awake at fuck o'clock in the morning.

"Come on, kiddo, get up and at 'em! Morty called me and told me he wants you at his Gym at 9am sharp to start your first lesson," Tina says as she pulls the covers off me, making me groan at the loss of my glorious, warm blanket.

"Ugh, Morty is a sadist," I whine childishly to her, "Why up so early?"

"I figured you'd want to take a shower and eat some breakfast before you head out," Tina replies.

"No, I mean why does Morty want me up so early? Does the man not believe in sleeping in," I grumble as I get up and slowly make my way to the shower.

"The early Pidgey gets the Caterpie, Calypso. I'll start on breakfast while you jump in the shower," Tina finishes before leaving for the kitchen.

I did so much yesterday that it feels like a truck ran me over. I stay in the shower for at least fifteen minutes, letting the filth and fatigue wash off of me in waves. It takes everything in me to get out and face the chilly air of the bathroom.

It takes another fifteen minutes to blow dry and style my hair, get dressed, and get all of my Pokémon in attendance for breakfast.

I go in the kitchen and Tina sets a plate of Kalos Toast and sausage links in front of me, the fried bread breakfast looking amazing. I dig in instantly, and it's gone in no time flat. My Pokémon also down their food as well.

"I'm guessing you liked breakfast," Tina states delightedly.

"Loved it," I respond, "Now I'll have the energy to kill Morty for waking me up so early."

It takes me a little bit to gather up all my stuff, but I still have plenty of time to get to the Gym before I'm late.

When I arrive, Morty is in the front of the Gym, leading me into a side room I hadn't seen before.

"Calypso, good to see you! How did you enjoy your wake up call," Morty asks cheekily, making me glare playfully in response.

"You're a sadist, you know," I joke sarcastically to him, "Can't a girl just sleep in once in a while?"

"To be able to learn how to control your abilities is going to take discipline and hard work. How are you going to do that if you can't even get up early," Morty spits back at me logically.

"You know I'm messing with you, big guy! Anyways, what are we doing first," I inquire while giving him a mock punch to the arm jokingly.

"Well, first, I thought we'd clear our minds and bodies with some meditation, then we can try to work on telepathy and possibly telekinesis, if your branch of the family is capable of it," Morty explains.

"Sounds awesome," I reply excitedly.

My mind is so restless that I find it hard to try to meditate, despite Morty's attempts to calm me. It takes me a while to try and calm down, but when I finally do, Morty comments that he thinks my energy is flowing better. The meditation makes me feel calmer about most of my mental situations, helping me be able to actually relax.

"Yes, now your energy is flowing amazingly! We can start working with telepathy now," Morty helps me proceed.

Morty and I have several conversations in our minds, including about our Pokémon, our families, Ecruteak City, the Ecruteak Legend, and much more.

"You seem proficient in telepathy already," Morty comments, "I see you've been doing the homework I was going to give you. We can start working on telekinesis now if you'd like."

"Yes, I'm so excited," I reply enthusiastically.

"Okay, so here's a pencil," Morty places the pencil on the floor in front of me, "The first thing we need to do to get you started on telekinesis is to see if you can focus your mental energy to manifest in the physical realm. I want you to focus all your mental energy on this pencil. Don't worry about trying to move it yet, but just focus all of your energy on it."

I do as he says, focusing all of my mental energy onto the pencil, which to my surprise, starts vibrating! I'm so shocked that I break focus, and the pencil stops its motion.

"Wow, Calypso, that's impressive for your first time! Usually people have to try a few times to get a vibration that strong," Morty exclaims happily, "Keep working on keeping that vibration up, and then we'll go from there."

I repeat the vibration several times, steadily increasing the power of it. Morty is increasingly excited about my progress, and he finally says,

"Okay, now that you got your energy focus down, we can try actually moving the pencil. I want you to focus your energy again, but when you feel the vibration get more powerful, I want you to move the energy in one direction with your mind, and the pencil will follow," Morty instructs me.

I do as he says again, and just like he said, I am able to telekinetically move the pencil sharply to the left of both of us.

"Well, I'm glad you didn't decide to shank me with that for making you wake up early," Morty comments snarkily.

"Not this time, but you better watch out the next time I have to be here before noon," I respond with just as much attitude.

Morty laughs and ruffles my hair as a big brother would. I shake it back into place, and give him a small glare, but he knows I'm just fucking around. He makes me do it a few more times, and I flick it with more power each time I try.

"All right, Calypso, you're done for today. Keep working on what we practiced today, and I'll see you here in a week, at noon this time, so you don't try to kill me," Morty leads me out of the Gym, sending me on my way back to my house two hours later.

"Hey, kiddo, how'd your lesson go," Tina asks when I get back to the house.

"It was great, Tina! Morty taught me how to meditate, and he says that I'm a natural at telepathy! Apparently, the practice you and I have been doing, along with the telepathy I do with my Pokémon has really paid off. Next he wants me to work on basic telekinesis. He sent me home with this pencil to practice moving," I explain the lesson to her.

"That's amazing, Calypso! I'm glad our practice turned out so well. You can practice all you want as long as you don't accidentally stab me or the Pokémon with your floating pencil," Tina jokes.

"I promise not to shank you, Tina," I say jovially, "As for Ruth, Donald, and Monica, I can't promise anything."

"Just don't let anyone witness it, and I have no problem with it," Tina jokes back, "Especially Ruth. That woman deserves a fate worse than the Distortion World…"

"I thought it, you said it," I say as I check on all of my Pokémon, "I definitely need to work on training Baab, since he's really underleveled compared to the rest of my team. But since I'll be exploring water using Surf soon, Baab can train by battling a bunch of Water Pokémon since he's strong against them."

"Sounds like a solid strategy," Tina replies, "I know you're heading for Cianwood City next, and I just want to make sure you have everything you need for your journey. Poké Balls, Super Potions, non-perishable food, clean underwear?"

"It's all here, Tina," I show her the bag I packed last night with plenty of food and other supplies, along with the Oran Berries for the Miltank Farmers, "You don't need to worry, I promise. If I need anything, I promise I'll call you."

Tina slips me a small smile before wrapping me in a tight embrace, "You know I can't help but worry about you kiddo, especially going back there with your past and everything. Ruth is still out there somehwere, and while I'd like to think she's smart enough not to try to fuck with you again, I can't comfortably rely on that. I'm your parent, I'm always going to be worried about you."

I hug her harder, her statement almost bringing me to happy tears. "You're the greatest, Tina. I love you. I promise I won't get into too much trouble."

We say our goodbyes, then the team and I head out towards Olivine City and Cianwood City.

*Third Person POV; Saffron City; 9:00am*

The night before, Ruth, Donald, and Monica pulled another night of heavy drinking after celebrating their new identities, Donald having picked up several bottles of wine at the department store. But this morning, the only thing they care about is sleeping.

Of course, it's Ruth who awakens first, and like some kind of immortal goddess, Ruth is able to shake off the huge hangover that is likely to try to kill Monica and Donald.

Ruth prepares trays with food and coffee for her new grandchildren who have both just gotten up. Donald and Monica instantly head to the bathroom to take turns vomiting up all the alcohol they drank yesterday.

"There, there, children, let it all out. When you finally start feeling a little better, I have food and coffee for you," Ruth rubs both of their backs while they puke.

Once Donald and Monica are coherent enough to eat and have conversation, Ruth brings them out to the living room.

"So I tried calling Chuck, but he didn't answer the phone, so I left an anonymous message. I can try calling him later, but for now, getting our stuff is off the table," Ruth grumbles.

"Ugh, that sucks," Donald complains, "How are we gonna start a band if I can't access any of my instruments?"

"Wait, so Donald, did you really want to start a band," Monica asks him, "I've always wanted to be a singer, but I've always been outshined by the rest of my family, so I never really thought I was good enough."

"I'm down if you're down," Donald replies, "It's a dream of mine to be in a metal band. Even if it's a pop metal band. I can play all of the instruments we need, and I can pre-record instruments that we can't play live due to it just being us. I'm willing to take this all the way," Donald finishes seriously.

"Okay, if you're serious about this, just tell me what instruments you need and I'll give you the money to buy them. If we're good enough, we can get a record deal and earn even more money than we put in," Monica seems thrilled about the idea.

So Monica once again sends Donald out on the town, this time to buy instruments and other things for their band. Donald is ecstatic to be able to buy high end instruments instead of half broken ones.

An hour later, a delivery truck with all their instruments arrives at Ruth's house, where Donald is ecstatic to start playing with them. Monica is more interested in the high tech microphones Donald got for both of them.

After a couple minutes of Donald and Monica marveling over the equipment, Ruth cuts in with a slice of reality, "So have either one of you actually written a song before, or are you just going to drool over your new toys?"

"Oh, I have a song I've written," Monica exclaims, "It's called, 'I'm Not Your Chikorita! It's about me telling an overly creepy and clingy ex to leave me the fuck alone."

"Sounds like a good place to start," Donald replies, "Go ahead and show me the lyrics, and tell me what kind of flow and style you want it to have, and we'll go from there."

So Donald and Monica collaborate on their song while Ruth occasionally chimes in with suggestions for them. Ruth also starts looking for music labels to approach about possibly getting a record deal for them.

Donald records all the instrumental parts, while also recording Monica's lead clean vocals, and finally his rougher backing vocals. Donald is also a pro at digital music editing, so he edits and cleans up their song, downloading the final draft onto a CD to send to the music labels.

The last thing they have to complete is coming up with a logo for their band. Monica suggests using the images of a Clefable and a Gengar, respectively representing both the Beauty and the Beast part of their band. Donald and Monica both love the idea, so Donald starts drawing their logo onto a large tapestry to display for live events.

They also propose an album cover for their first single, "I Ain't Your Chikorita," in which they decide to take a picture of Donald and Monica outside Silph Co. in Saffron City while in full costume. Donald is doing a tough face expression, while Monica looks flirty while blowing a bubble of gum.

With everything completed for their first single, Monica, Donald and Ruth send out the copies of their music to multiple music labels. They hope for answers back soon, but these things tend to take a while.

Ruth praises them for their hard work, making them a home cooked meal of garlic marinated steak, buttery mashed potatoes, and bacon wrapped asparagus. They relax for a brief while before deciding to drink another bottle of wine.

Once all of them are sufficiently tipsy, Monica and Donald get the idea to practice their new single live to make sure they can perform live if they need to. Ruth finds their live, drunken performance hilarious, and she starts recording while laughing her ass off.

"Gran, you better not show that video to anyone," Monica says as she and Donald finally collapse after finishing their performance.

"I promise, not if I want us to go anywhere," Ruth laughs at them.

"Gran," Donald and Monica both slur their complaining. They laze about for a few more minutes before hearing Ruth's PokéGear ringing.

"Children, it's Chuck about our stuff," Ruth says excitedly.

Ruth talks to Chuck, who tells her that he can set off a distraction in Cianwood City to draw all the Officers downtown so he can send a few Gym Trainers to gather their stuff. Ruth gives him their location to be able to mail it to them. Chuck sets the time of the distraction for 12:00pm, and tells Ruth that he will call her once he has their stuff in his possession.

"Of course he calls after we get all the new equipment," Donald remarks.

"Yeah, but I'm happy to be able to use such nice instruments," Monica comments back.

Donald smiles at her, and responds, "You know what, me too."

"At least he's getting the rest of our stuff, too. I can't wait," says Ruth.

"Us either," Monica and Donald chime together.

*Silver's POV; Cianwood City; 12:00pm*

I easily defeated the Cianwood Gym Leader last night, and now I can finally use HM02 Fly out of battle so I don't have to walk everywhere. Thank Arceus.

I stayed overnight in the Pokémon Center, hoping that at some point, the Officer Jennies in front of Calypso's Gran's house would clear off so I could sneak in. No such luck so far. And no luck whatsoever in getting the dirty thoughts of Calypso out of my head. Damn, this day is pretty shitty so far.

I climb up on the mountain ledge by the house, where I can watch them but they can't see me. All of a sudden, I see one of the Jennies pick up their PokéGear, talking fervently on it, before leading the rest of them down to downtown Cianwood City, leaving Calypso's Gran's house completely unprotected. I know I have precious little time, so I pry open a window, stepping into a bedroom, and I close the window to clear my trail.

The bedroom is large, and has a large amount of shredded clothing on the ground. I suspect this is her Gran's bedroom based on the decor. I hastily make my way through the house, trying to find Calypso's room. To my astonishment, there is no sign in any of the rooms that Calypso ever existed here. No clothing, no pictures, no anything. It's like they erased her presence here from existence. I can't help but find it unsettling.

I walk into the living room, where I notice several large red stains on the carpet that look similar to blood stains. Slightly unnerved, I walk further into the room, where I come upon a Johto Journal Magazine. I see that Calypso's Gran, Ruth Marken, is on the cover, so I go to read the story. My disgust turns to fury when I read,

"Cianwood Grandmother and former Goldenrod Prosecutor accused of child abuse! Bloody belt found in closet of Cianwood resident, Ruth Marken! Police suspect this is why her granddaughter, Calypso Aspen Primrose, stole all her money, destroyed her home, and ran off. The Medicine Guru of Cianwood says the woman is indeed insane; He says he helped to free the young seventeen year old from her evil clutches.

The Johto Police Department were first prompted to search Marken's home after claims of domestic abuse came from the 17 year old runaway granddaughter, Calypso. They searched the 62 year old's home, and found an old bloody belt in one of her closets. They went to arrest the 62 year old, but she used her Lv 41 Dragonair, Fafnir, to escape. Ruth Marken is still currently on the run from Police. If anyone sees this woman, PLEASE REPORT IT TO POLICE IMMEDIATELY! Do not try to capture her yourself! She is a very capable trainer and fighter. Police say there are several other witnesses who can testify to Marken's abuse claims."

I quickly realize that the bloodstains I found are from Ruth abusing Calypso for years. My first instinct is to vomit, and the second is to burn the place down to the fucking ground. In my blind rage, I decide on the second one, gathering the magazine before lighting several small fires throughout the house.

I escape out of Ruth's bedroom window after I set her bedspread on fire with my lighter. Watching her house engulf in flames for a brief, satisfying moment, I quickly make my exit by flying back to Olivine City, hoping no one saw me. I'm already wanted for theft, I don't need arson charges added onto that.

"I can't believe I fucking did that," I whisper as my newly evolved Golbat flies me back to Olivine, "but the fucking bitch deserved it. I have what I need, and now her house is ashes. I'm pretty happy with myself."

My rage finally blinded my dirty thoughts about Calypso, and now I can't help but feel bad for her. I know how bad sucky parents can be, and her Gran is one of the worst. Giovanni might have abandoned me, but at least he never beat the shit out of me or made me bleed. If I ever meet her Gran, she's going to meet the business end of my switchblade.

This whole situation kind of makes me realize how much I actually care about that brat. Sure, she's annoying, but it's usually in an endearing way. She's the best Pokémon Trainer around besides me, and I respect that about her. It also doesn't help that I'm insanely attracted to her.

"I gotta tell her how I feel about her, or I'm going to go insane," I groan to myself, "Arceus, I still hate this sappy ass Tauros shit."

I land in Olivine City, and quickly pay for a private room at the Olivine Pokémon Center. I'm going to hide out here for an hour or two to check the news so I can figure out if anyone suspects me of burning down Ruth's house. Once I get the clear, I'm going to head towards Mahogany Town to challenge the gym.

*Third Person POV; Cianwood City; 12:05pm*

"Uhhh, Boss," one of the Cianwood Gym Trainers says to Cianwood Gym Leader Chuck over the phone, "We're not gonna be able to get that stuff for you. The fucking house is on fire!"

"You leave the fucking house unsupervised for five minutes, and someone sets it on fire," Chuck growls over the phone, "Ruth is gonna be pissed when I tell her this! What in the Distortion World were you goons thinking?"

"We're sorry, Boss," they apologize, "It took us a bit to walk up here without the Officers seeing us, and when we got up here, it was in flames!"

"This is fucking great," Chuck complains, "How am I gonna tell her that her house burned down? What am I gonna tell the Officers when they question me? This just creates so many fucking problems…"

"What do you want us to do, Boss," the Gym Trainers ask him meekly.

"Just get back here before an Officer spots you acting suspiciously near the crime scene, you goons! I'm going to go down there with Poliwrath and see if I can't save any part of the house."

"Yes, Boss!"

*Calypso's POV; Route 40; 11:30am*

I give the Oran Berries to the Miltank Farmers on Route 39, who feed them to their prize Miltank. Now that she's healthy again, they give me ten bottles of MooMooMilk as compensation. I give them my number and tell them to call me if their Miltank ever gets sick again.

It takes me and Baab about a half hour to reach Olivine City from Ecruteak on my skateboard, Baab having fun riding on the board with me. We cross through Olivine City, where I take the time to change into my swimsuit before quickly making our way to Route 40.

Having taught Zellie HM03 Surf, I hang onto her and her floatation sac, and we swim our way through Route 40, the contrasting cold water and warm sunlight feeling nice on my skin.

I send Baab out to fry a couple of Level 9-11 Tentacool, earning him enough experience to grow to Level 16. To my delight, he starts glowing white, changing form right in front of my eyes. Baab evolves into Flaaffy, gaining a large amount of strength.

"Way to go, Baab! You're so much bigger," I exclaim happily. We do a victory cheer before I heal his wounds with a Potion. We continue on, beating up several dozen stronger Tentacools, earning him more experience, and propelling him up to Level 19.

The next Pokémon we see is kinda terrifying! A Level 20 Tentacruel approaches us aggressively, sending a Bubblebeam straight at Baab, reducing his HP to half. I know we're way in over our heads, so I use a Poké Doll to flee. I heal Baab with a Super Potion, and we keep our eyes peeled for the pissed off Tentacruel. Thankfully, he lost our trail.

I decide to let Baab try to battle the swimming Trainers. First off is Swimmer Simon and his two Level 20 Tentacools. He defeats them with a few Thundershocks, losing a small amount of HP in the process.

Swimmer Elaine and her Level 21 Staryu also go down smoothly, Baab only losing a small amount of HP, while also growing to Level 20. Baab can now learn the move Cotton Spore, so we eliminate Growl to learn it.

Swimmer Paula is next, her Level 21 Staryu and Level 21 Shellder proving no problem for Baab to take on. Finally, Swimmer Randall is last, his two Level 18 Shellders going down instantly. It's his Level 20 Wartortle that roughs us up a little. We defeat him, but I have to heal Baab with another Super Potion afterward. Baab also grows to Level 21.

I grab the TM88 Pluck on the sandy bar by Swimmer Elaine, and I teach it to Spirit, replacing her Peck attack. I also find the Hyper Potion that was hidden underneath the ground with my Dowsing Machine.

Now that Baab is the same level as Zellie, I switch him out for Forest, who could stand to gain a few levels. We continue onto Route 41, where we come upon the Whirl Islands.

Next, the Team and I waste all the Trainers on Route 41, circling the Whirl Islands. I mostly use Forest for my battles, though I try to rotate everyone in if I can. From all the training, Cyndi grows to Level 26, Dusk grows to Level 25, Forest grows to Level 24, and both Zellie and Baab grow to Level 22.

My team is tired from all the battling, so Zellie and I head west, reaching Cianwood City in no time flat. I take refuge in the Pokémon Center to heal my Pokémon and handle my anxiety about being back here. At least I know that Ruth's house is being monitored by Officer Jennies. That's somewhat comforting. Changing out of my swimsuit back into my normal clothes, I have Cyndi dry my swimsuit before we head back out.

My first destination is PG's medicine shop, located directly to the left of the Pokémon Center. I head inside, Cyndi by my side as we enter. The shop is empty, except for Pharmacy Guy, who is turned around, and bent over, stocking some medicines in the boxes on the bottom shelf.

Hearing the bell ring on the door, PG calls out to me without turning around, "I'll be with you in a minute."

"Hey, you're good, I'm not in a hurry," I reply back to him. When he hears my voice, he drops whatever he's holding to stand up and turn around to look at me.

"Calypso… is that you," he also whispers, squinting his eyes to look at me more closely.

"Bring it in, big guy," I say as I hold my arms open to him. He immediately rushes from behind the counter to wrap me in a huge bear hug, the air being almost crushed out of my lungs.

"Glad to see you too, PG! But can you squeeze a little less please? Breathing is hard," I say while hugging him back just as tightly.

"Sorry, Calypso," he lets go of me, "You look good, kid," he remarks as he looks me up and down, "Most of your cuts and bruises have faded by now, and your hair on top seems to be grown in nicely. Do you need me to do any first aid for you for anything while you're here? It's been pretty slow today, and I'm thinking of taking an early lunch."

"I'm actually doing all right, but thanks for the offer, PG. I actually came to see if you had any medicine that could help the sick Ampharos that is supposed to light the Olivine Lighthouse. The poor baby has been sick for a while now," I respond.

"I know just what to do," PG says as he walks back to his shelves to grab me the medicine, "This is Secret Potion. It's a really concentrated Potion that should heal any Pokémon's ailments. I only prescribe this in case of emergency, and this sounds like an emergency to me."

"Thanks, PG, I appreciate it, Jasmine will be so grateful," I thank him.

"No problem! Hey, it's been a while since I've seen you, Calypso. Do you want to stay for lunch and chat for a bit, you know, to catch up," PG suggests.

I smile widely at him, "You know, I'd honestly love that. I just got done doing a lot of training, so my Team and I are super hungry today."

So PG takes me to his apartment in the back of his shop, and makes a lunch of shrimp fried rice for both of us. He also dishes up food for all my Pokémon, except for Dusk, who ate while we were training earlier.

"So, Calypso, how's your journey going? I assume you have at least four Gym Badges if you were able to Surf here," PG starts conversation as we start eating, "That Pokémon I gave you looks like it's doing great," he exclaims, looking at Spirit fondly.

"Yeah, it was Spirit who actually took out Morty's Gengar with her Assurance attack! I'm so proud of how far she's come, along with the rest of my team. They've all made so much progress since I've had them."

We continue eating in silence for a bit, before PG asks abruptly, "So, do you have any idea where Ruth has escaped off to?"

I snort back, "Humph, I wish. The last thing I heard was that she escaped out of Cianwood City on a flying Skarmory, drunk, with two accomplices. The Johto Police Department wasn't able to catch them, and as far as I know, they have no idea about their whereabouts."

"Figures," PG sighs back, "She's always been a slippery one. And a drunk."

PG and I finish our meals, and he collects my empty plate to wash up. I recall all of my Pokémon except for Cyndi, who enjoys the warmth of the Cianwood sunshine, despite all the water.

PG is finally done cleaning up, and he sits down to talk to me again, but we are interrupted by the sound of PG's PokéGear ringing. He asks me if I mind if he takes the call, and I tell him I don't mind.

"It's my friend, Kisame, the owner of the sushi place next door," he says before picking up the phone and putting it on speakerphone, "Hey, Kisame, what's going on, man?"

"Phil, you gotta get outside right now," Kisame hollers through the phone, "Someone set the old Marken house on fire! Chuck tried putting it out with his Poliwrath's Surf, but it's pretty much burnt to the ground, dude."

I almost choke on my water, hearing the shocking news. PG looks at me suspiciously, and I shake my head back and forward, my eyes as wide as dinner plates.

"PG, I promise I had nothing to do with it, I was on Route 40 and 41 the entire time, I swear," I whisper, pleading to him.

Kisame continues on, "The police report says there were no witnesses, but they think whoever torched the Marken house is also the one who threatened Kirk with a switchblade, and stole his prize Pokémon, a Sneasel, earlier this morning."

The more information I get, the more I keep thinking in the back of my head that Silver possibly has something to do with this. That GingerHeadMan has been going off the rails lately, and he's the only I know who could possibly sneak in there and do something like that besides Team Rocket. But why he would do it is another question. Does it actually have something to do with me, or did he decide to randomly become a freelance arsonist? Who knows with him, honestly? But I can't let anyone know that I suspect him. Despite all the shit he's put me through, I really don't want to see him go to prison. I think I like him too much for that. Maybe a little too much…

"Thanks for letting me know, Kisame, I'll take a look at it in a little bit. You have a good day, my dude, I'll see you later," PG says before hanging up the phone.

"PG," I start to say frantically before he quickly cuts me off, "Calypso, I promise I don't think you had anything to do with the arson of Ruth's house. But unfortunately, others in town may not think the same, especially with your fire Pokémon, Quilava. You need to be careful and watch yourself here, Calypso. I don't want you becoming a scapegoat for something you didn't do."

"Thanks, PG, I appreciate you warning me, and believing me. I'm planning on training some more around here before challenging Chuck for the Storm Badge. I'll keep to myself and try to keep out of trouble," I promise him.

"I know you will, Calypso," PG replies back, "But I'm hoping trouble doesn't decide to find you."

"Me, too, PG, me too. I'm kinda tired of it to be honest," I express honestly.

He looks back at me meaningfully, and says somberly, "If I were you, I would be too."

"Hey, PG, before I forget, do you have the pictures of my injuries from the last time Ruth attacked me," I ask him.

"Of course," he replies, "Do you need copies for some reason?"

"Yeah, for court purposes," I say as he hands me the gorey pictures that I try not to look at too closely for my own sanity.

*Third Person POV; Saffron City; 12:30pm*

Ruth, Monica, and Donald all have continued drinking more wine while watching tv and waiting for Chuck's phone call. Ruth almost shouts when her PokéGear flashes and rings with Chuck's number.

"Chuck, were you able to get any of our stuff," Ruth asks him excitedly.

"Ummm, Ruth," an anxious Chuck starts, "I got bad news for you."

"Were you not able to get inside the house today? We can try another day if we need to," Ruth suggests.

"No, Ruth, it's really bad news. I'm sorry, but someone set your house on fire. I set up the diversion to distract the Officers, and someone set fire to it before my Gym Trainers could even get up there. I even tried to save it with my Poliwrath's Surf, but the house is pretty much destroyed, Ruth. I'm sorry," Chuck finishes morosely.

Ruth is silent for a second, trying to process this information, before she starts shrieking hysterically over the phone, "It's that fucking bitch, Calypso, I know it! She's never done anything but try to ruin my life, and now she's burnt down my house! That house and everything in it was my entire life," Ruth starts crying.

"The house is burnt down," both Monica and Donald question her, but neither of them get any answers as Ruth's become a shrieking mess at this point.

"I'm really sorry, Ruth, I tried everything I could to get your belongings. I promise to still help you in whatever way I can, okay," Chuck tries to soothe her.

Ruth is able to calm down to the point where she can talk normally. Almost like flicking a switch, she coldly responds, "I think I'll be okay, I just need to do some things to help me process this loss. Please call and update me if you get any information on who burnt my house. I'm 99% sure it's Calypso, but I still want to know if it wasn't. Goodbye, Chuck, I'll talk to you, later."

"Bye, Ruth," Chuck goes to say goodbye, but Ruth hangs up on him abruptly.

Donald and Monica look at Ruth's glazed over eyes and expression with concern. When she doesn't snap out of her trance, Monica says softly, "Gran, are you all right?"

Ruth snaps back to reality, making eye contact with both Donald and Monica sharply. "I've been better, children," Ruth starts out intensely, "but I will not stop until I ruin Calypso's life as much as she's ruined mine," she growls sinisterly.

"I'm with you on this one," Donald agrees, "She burnt all of my stuff, too! If I get my hands on her, I'm gonna strangle that dumb bitch."

"And I'll help you guys even though none of my stuff got torched," Monica pipes up, "cause, you know, I love you guys. You're my family."

Ruth looks at Donald and Monica fondly before tearing up again emotionally. "Oh, children, I love you too. You're everything I ever wanted in my grandchildren. I promise we'll make Calypso regret being born for everything she's ever done to us."

Another PokéGear ringing startles the Trio out of their co-op mental breakdown. Ruth realizes that it's one of the music labels that they submitted their single to, so she picks it up.

"Hello, this is Sandra Simpson, band manager of pop metal band, Beauty and the Beast."

*Calypso's POV; Cianwood City; 1:00pm*

PG tells me more about Cianwood Gym Leader, Chuck, his Pokémon, and the levels of all of the Trainers in the Gym. Once again, I need to train more before I take on this Gym.

"Hey, PG, I think I'm going to surf back to Olivine City to deliver the medicine so I can train for the Cianwood Gym Battle. I'm kinda underleveled, so I want to do a bit more training before I take on the Gym."

"Sounds good, Calypso. Call me if you need anything, or if you know anything about who burnt down Ruth's house," PG says as I depart from the shop. I can't help but inwardly sweat at his last statement.

I go to the Pokémon Center to change back into my swimsuit, and then I head back out to Route 41, heading for Olivine City. I train the team by battling wild Tentacool and occasionally, Tentacruel. I do the training technique where you have the weaker Pokémon in front before switching it out for a Pokémon that can battle so they can split the experience points.

Using this technique multiple times, all of my Pokémon gain a few levels. Cyndi grows to Level 28, Spirit and Dusk both grow to Level 27, Forest grows to Level 26, and both Zellie and Baab both grow to Level 25. Baab has the opportunity to learn Charge, so we delete Cotton Spore in order to learn it.

We're finally back in Olivine City, and Zellie and I are soaking wet from all that swimming. We head to the Pokémon Center so I can wash off all this salt from the sea water off, and change into new clothes.

I head to the women's bathroom, but before I go in, I see a flash of bright red in the hallway. It moves so fast, I have no idea who it is, but I can't help but think about Silver in the back of my mind. That sexy GingerHeadMan. It's probably not him, but it's fun to pretend in the back of my mind.

I go into the bathroom to change into a pair of clothes Tina gave me because my old clothes are really dirty. To my astonishment, I see that she gave me some of my mom's old clothes. She gave me a casual violet colored kimono, silky black capri leggings, and matching black sandals. This look is a bit feminine for my tastes, but maybe it'll make me more comfortable with possibly dancing in the Dance Theater in the future.

I put on the outfit, the clothes fitting me perfectly. I slip on the sandals, and finally, I pin up one side of my hair with a matching violet flower pin.

"Hope I did you proud, Mom," I say as I inspect my reflection in the mirror before exiting the bathroom, and heading out of the Pokémon Center. I head towards the Lighthouse so I can give the Secret Potion to Jasmine.

*Silver's POV; Olivine City; 2:00pm*

I've been checking the news, and so far, they've reported about the Cianwood arson, but they haven't reported any suspects as of yet. That makes me feel a lot better about my ability to get away with this.

Now that I feel comfortable enough to leave, I gather my stuff, and go to head out the door when I see something that makes me stop dead in my tracks. I feel my blood pressure rise instantly, followed by a large amount of blood flowing to my groin area.

Calypso walks in with her Buizel, wearing a very tight sporty two piece swimsuit that shows off her midriff heavily. Her hips sway side to side as she walks up to the counter, handing her Pokémon to Nurse Joy. I can see her nipples harden through her tight swim top, the cold air of the Pokémon Center clearly affecting her, just like she's clearly affecting me.

I keep staring at her from behind my door, hoping she doesn't see me. That's the last thing I need right now. Along with having to explain the hard as a rock Sudowoodo in my pants that's starting to become uncomfortable. I feel like I either need to explode or I need to take an ice bath.

I back up into my room to hide when I see her head this way, and into the women's bathroom. I don't want her to spot me. How do you explain that you burnt down her childhood home, and then thirsted over her in a swimsuit? You don't, that's how. Unless you want to get stabbed, that is.

She comes back out a few minutes later, and the outfit she's changed into makes her almost unrecognizable. It's way more feminine than I've ever seen her wear, but the kimono hugs her curves in a flattering way that makes my pants feel even tighter, which I didn't think was possible.

"All right, Zellie, it's time to head to the Lighthouse," I hear her tell her Buizel as she leaves the Pokémon Center.

I decide to head back into my room, needing to take care of the impending situation down below. Thinking about Calypso in her swimsuit, I burst at the seams in pleasure, moaning her name to myself as I finish.

I know I'm in way deeper than I ever wanted to be, but it is what it is. I gotta find a way to tell her that I actually give a fuck. But that's harder said than done. But there's never been anything I've wanted that I haven't been able to get for myself before, and I want her.

*Calypso's POV; Olivine City; 2:05pm*

I take the elevator back up to the top floor of the Lighthouse where Jasmine and Amphy are waiting for me.

I give Jasmine the Secret Potion, who gives it to Amphy. Jasmine tells me not to be offended, as Amphy refuses to take anything that's not from her. The medicine seems to work instantly, Amphy perking up, and lighting the entire top of the Lighthouse. "Oh, thank you so much! I am so relieved! I can return to the Gym and take on challengers again," Jasmine says happily.

Both of us head out of the Lighthouse, her heading towards the Gym, while I spot an advertisement for the New Safari Zone near Cianwood City that's just opened. I decide to travel across the water to Cianwood City once again, trading in my outfit for my swimsuit, and fighting all the water Pokémon I encounter.

My team once again levels up, Cyndi growing to Level 29, Spirit and Dusk to Level 28, Forest to Level 27, and Zellie and Baab to Level 26.

After Zellie grows her level, she starts glowing white. Her body grows a lot bigger and elongates, while her teeth become a lot longer and sharper.

"Zellie, you evolved into Floatzel," I hug her tightly in the water. She's big enough that I can ride on her back in the water with no problem now. She embraces me, and twirls me around in the water happily.

Zellie has the opportunity to learn the move Crunch, so she replaces Water Gun with Crunch.

We once again make it to Cianwood City, where I heal my team and change back into the kimono outfit. Doing my best to sneak around downtown, I make my way up the Cliff's Edge Gate, but I can't help but try to sneak a peek at the ashy remains of my old childhood hell.

Ruth's house is completely destroyed, very little of the bare bones still existing. Most of the area is covered in a large amount of ash, and I kind of feel a sense of serenity and security when I see it. I stand there for a moment, taking in the sight, when I see something else up ahead.

I walk closer, and see Suicune in the area where I used to train Spirit at night when I still lived here. I go to approach closer, but Suicune gets startled, and runs up to me, circling me a few times, and then fleeing by sprinting across the sea.

"What the fuck," I say out load to myself before I see a very disgruntled Eusine strolling up to me from downtown Cianwood City.

"Yo, Calypso, wasn't that Suicune just now? I only caught a quick glimpse, but I thought I saw Suicune running on the waves. Suicune is beautiful and grand. And it races through towns and roads at simply awesome speeds. It's wonderful... I want to see Suicune up close..."

Eusine daydreams for a brief second before continuing, "I've decided. I'll battle you as a trainer to earn Suicune's respect! Come on, Calypso! Let's battle now!"

Eusine takes me by surprise by sending out his first Pokémon, a Level 25 Drowzee. Unluckily for him, the first Pokémon in my party is Dusk.

"Drowzee, use your Hypnosis attack," Eusine commands.

"Dusk, you use your Shadow Ball attack," I counter back.

Unfortunately for Eusine, Dusk is faster, and her super effective Shadow Ball KO's Drowzee, making him faint.

Eusine growls annoyedly before switching his Drowzee out for a Level 25 Haunter. I switch Dusk out for Spirit to face it. Eusine commands his Haunter to use Lick, while I instruct Spirit to use Faint Attack. Spirit is much faster, and her Faint Attack also KO's it's target, knocking Haunter out in one hit.

Eusine's face is a bit red now, and I can tell he's starting to lose a little bit of composure. He sends out his last Pokémon, a Level 27 Electrode. I decide that Cyndi is the best to deal with this Pokémon. I taught her a TM28 earlier that will help me with this battle.

Eusine commands his Electrode to use Thunder. I know that Thunder is a powerful attack, so I instruct Cyndi to dodge by using Dig. Cyndi avoids Thunder, and attacks Electrode for half of its HP in damage. Electrode retaliates with a well thrown Sonicboom, reducing Cyndi's HP by a fourth. Cyndi goes underground again, and I tell her to go in for the final hit. Cyndi's Dig hits Electrode hard, making him faint.

Eusine recalls his Electrode, shaking his head, while saying, "I hate to admit it, but you win." He pays me handsomely, forking over 3240 in winnings.

"You're amazing, Calypso! I'm starting to understand why Suicune was keeping an eye on you. I'm going to keep searching for Suicune. I have a feeling we'll see each other again. See you around," Eusine says as he pursues Suicune across the sea.

"What is with that guy and Suicune? Suicune ought to file a restraining order or something," I muse to myself.

Looking back to the charred remains of my personal hell, I silently thank whoever destroyed this place. I pick up a handful of the ashes, feeling how soft it is in my hands. I save it in a plastic baggie, putting it in my backpack. Maybe it'll comfort me to have a constant reminder that this place is ashes.

I go back to the Pokémon Center, healing up my team after that tough fight with Eusine. I also take some time to reflect on the death of Ruth's house. I do some meditating to relax myself before the team and I head out to check that new Safari Zone past Routes 47 and 48.

I have Cyndi in the front of my party, her following me energetically as I skateboard through the Cliff Edge Gate, and into Route 47. I get off my skateboard almost immediately because we're on a cliff's edge that I really don't want to risk falling off of.

The first Trainer we encounter is Hiker Devin and his three Level 19 Dunsparces. Cyndi takes out all of them, only losing a small amount of HP in the process. She gains enough experience to grow to Level 30. I switch Cyndi out for Spirit, trying to rotate everyone's training properly.

Passing the Hiker, I see we have two options for our next path. There's a cave up to the north, and then there's bridge to the left, where Camper Grant is chilling. I decide we should interrupt his chill. Spirit KO's his Level 21 Skiploom with a super effective Pluck attack, while Baab takes care of his Level 21 Marill with a few Thundershocks. I grab the Revive that's just past him, leading to a dead end.

Going back to the right towards the cave, Spirit and I enter Cliff Cave, deciding to descend first. The bottom floor leads out to a small beach below the cliffs, where Zellie and I can surf around. We only find a Pearl on the beach between the two waterfalls, so we head back up in the cave, finding an Ultra Ball on the top floor.

Coming out of the cave, we are ambushed by Double Team Thom and Kae, and their team of a Level 25 Magmar and a Level 25 Electabuzz. I decide that a team of Cyndi and Zellie should work best.

Zellie is the fastest Pokémon, so she hits Magmar with her super effective Aqua Jet, reducing its HP to a fourth. Electabuzz is the next fastest, and unfortunately for us, it hits Zellie with a super effective Shock Wave. Her HP reduces to a fourth.

Cyndi is next to act, aiming a Flame Wheel straight towards Electabuzz, which turns into a critical hit, to our luck. It's powerful enough to cut Electabuzz's HP to a third. Magmar is last to move, and he tries to eliminate Zellie from the mix with a Faint Attack. It leaves Zellie still hanging on with barely any HP.

To prevent Electabuzz from knocking out Zellie, I instruct her to finish it off with her priority move, Aqua Jet. It's just enough to make Eletabuzz faint. I decide to use Cyndi's turn to heal Zellie with a Super Potion so Magmar can't knock her out.

Magmar makes a desperate move of another Faint Attack on Cyndi, but it only reduces her HP by a fourth. It is quickly overwhelmed by a combination of Zellie's Aqua Jet and Cyndi's Headbutt to finish it off.

That Double Team were ridiculously hard to defeat, but they pay me a shit ton, 6000 Poké. I use a couple Super Potions and Potions to heal Cyndi and Zellie before continuing.

We cross two more bridges before continuing north, until we're stopped by Young Couple Duff and Eda. They send out a Level 22 Onix and Level 22 Cloyster. I laugh at their choice of Pokémon that clearly fit together so well. I bet Duff and Eda like fitting that way too.

I send a double team of Forest and Baab to take care of them. Forest takes care of the Onix with a few Vine Whips while Baab takes out the Cloyster with a few Thundershocks. Both Forest and Baab grow a level, to Level 27 and Level 26 respectively. Forest has the opportunity to learn Knock Off, but we decide we like his current moveset better.

The Young Couple proving not to be a problem, we pass them and head into Route 48. Route 48 os a lot more forgiving than Route 47. There are no Trainers, but I take the time to battle some wild Pokémon here, once again rotating my team's training. Spirit and Dusk both grow to Level 29, and Zellie grows to Level 27. We also find a Nugget in the dead end to the left to my delight.

The team and I see the Safari Zone up ahead, and I have a feeling we're going to have a good time here.

*Third Person POV; Saffron City; 12:30pm*

"Hello, Sandra Simpson, manager of the pop metal band, Beauty and the Beast? This is Autumn Bridges, a talent agent with Drago Records in Blackthorn City, Johto. Drago Records is Johto's most successful metal music label. We have many popular and successful bands and artists signed to our label, including metalcore band Misdreavus Mayhem, nu-metal band Don't Fuckle With Shuckle, and metal rapper, Steelix McFearless.

You sent us a demo track called 'I Ain't Your Chikorita', and we listened to it. We think it's an incredible idea for a song, and your band has a lot of potential for a successful career in the Johto Metal Music Scene.

We want to offer you a two year contract with our music label, Drago Records, with the current goal being to record your debut EP, while releasing a few singles before to heighten your popularity. If your EP sells and charts well enough, we are also offering to produce your longer debut album.

We're offering a royalty rate of 18% of your gross yearly earnings, with a cash advance of 200,000 Poke for any supplies you may need to produce the EP. We are also offering to financially support any relocation and housing costs you may need as well. Drago Record welcomes the opportunity for you to join our label, and we hope you consider our offer."

The Trio are stunned speechless by the agent's offer. Ruth is the first to speak, spouting excitedly, "Yes, that offer is more than reasonable. We accept, and we want to thank you for offering us a place in Drago Records. We are currently residing in Saffron City, Kanto, and we are willing to relocate to Blackthorn City, Johto."

"Amazing! We will send you digital tickets on your PokéGear for the Magnet Train. It will take you from Saffron City to Goldenrod City, where a Flight Taxi will take you from Goldenrod City to Blackthorn City. We are located in the building directly northeast of the Pokémon Center. We will send out a moving truck and crew to retrieve your possessions from your home in Saffron City. We look forward to seeing you soon in person. Have a great day, and welcome to Drago Records."

Immediately after hanging up the phone, all three members of the Trio squeal excitedly and cheer.

"I can't believe we actually got signed," Monica squeals in excitement, "Even my golden child sister didn't get accepted to her modeling agency on her first attempt! I wish she was here so I could rub it in her smug face."

"You deserve it, children, it's only due to your talent that this is happening at all. You should be so proud of yourselves," Ruth congratulates them heartily.

"Thanks, Gran, we couldn't do this without you either. It was all of us that came together to make this happen. I'm really happy that they like our music so much though. I never actually thought the first label that called back would want to sign us. It's like a dream come true," Donald muses thoughtfully.

The Trio decide to celebrate by drinking the rest of the wine Donald bought earlier while also packing what little possessions they still have to move back to Johto. Ruth also makes a hasty cheese and cracker snack to absorb all the alcohol they're drinking.

"This is one of the best and worst days of my life," Ruth comments out of the blue.

"Me too," agrees Donald, "We lost all of our things in that fire, but at least we finally have the opportunity to do something awesome with our lives."

"It's also nice having a new identity," Monica chimes in, "and losing the pressures and responsibilities that came with just being me. Now, I'm Candy Miller, pop vocalist for Beauty and the Beast, and I never have to worry about pleasing Monica Blodvek's parents or pointlessly competing with her older sister for her parent's attention ever again. That's all behind me now."

Both Ruth and Donald give Monica a side eye glance, prompting her to say indignantly,

"What? You two look like you don't believe me at all! I am so over it! I am over that life, and everything involved with it!"

"Are you really over it if you've mentioned it three times in the last five minutes," Donald points out to her.

"Monica, sweetie, do you want to talk about it," Ruth asks her soothingly.

Monica starts sniffing and tearing up a bit before replying unconvincingly, "No."

"Classic big sister move, claiming you don't care while bottling up your emotions, and then trying to isolate yourself from all your support systems. Nice try, but that's not gonna work on us," Donald says playfully while softly poking Monica's arm.

"Come on, Monica, you can open up to us, I promise. We won't judge you for your feelings or your past. Feel free to tell us anything you want," Ruth coaxes her.

Monica sniffles again before replying, "You guys just know how to get stuff out of me. Fine, if we're starting from the beginning, then I'm not actually from Johto. I'm originally from Lilycove City in Hoenn.

I have a sister that is two years older than me named Winona. She is the light of my parent's lives. She can do no wrong in their eyes. And I'm just the younger sister who apparently can't compare.

Growing up, I was always into Pokémon contests, while my sister, Winona, was a skilled battler. We shared the same level of talent for our respected passions, but my parents always favored her achievements over mine every time. I trained to be a Pokémon Trainer just to try and compete with her, and make my parents proud of me, but I could never keep up with her. I've always been second best in their eyes.

When I was 17 and Winona was 19, we both entered a Pokémon battling tournament that was being held in our hometown during a festival. We both got eliminated in the same round, the quarterfinals, but my parents acted like she did so much better than me. Then, she heard that Fortree City was looking for a new Gym Leader, and she got the job out of everyone who applied. My parents were ecstatic, and they paid attention to her all week even though I had won a really important Master Contest the day after, in which they said nothing.

I was done. I was done living in her shadow, and I wanted an identity outside of trying to outshine her and my insatiable family. Without any notice, I cut off my parents and my sister, and I moved to Goldenrod City, Johto.

First, I worked as a model for Goldenrod Department Store for a year or two, until Goldenrod City Gym Leader Whitney witnessed me battle and defeat a criminal who was attempting to rob the store while I was doing a photoshoot. She asked me to join her Gym as a Gym Trainer, and promised to take me under her wing. She was one of the first people who I felt really believed in me besides my contest fans.

I finally had a support system of Whitney and the other Gym Trainers, but Calypso had to go and ruin that just like she ruined the rest of our lives. I was lucky enough to meet you guys, and now here we are," Monica finishes bitterly.

Ruth has been frowning during Monica's entire story, and she replies to her, "I'm sorry, Monica, your family didn't deserve you. You are an amazing and talented young lady, and we love you."

Monica sniffles and replies back, "I love you too. Thanks for letting me vent to you, I'm so glad I have you guys, I don't know what I'd do without you guys."

"We love you too," Donald adds happily while side hugging Monica, who accepts the cuddles to his surprise.

"So, Gran, what's your story? We kinda know a vague version of the stuff that's gone on with Calypso, but we want to hear about you! Tell us your story," Monica asks Ruth excitedly.

Ruth, never one to turn down telling a story, obliges.

"I was born in a little ninja village called Mahogany Town…" she starts.

And ending on a cliffhanger once again! This is definitely mostly a Calypso training chapter, but we have quite a few interesting things happen like Silver burning down Ruth's house, Donald and Monica getting their band signed to a record label, and Silver thirsting over Calypso! I was originally going to include the Gym battle in this chapter, but it started getting too long, and the rest of the plot that goes along with the Gym battle deserves its own chapter. Besides, this chapter is already 10,000+ words long, it didn't need to be longer lol.

See you guys next chapter, and hope you enjoyed reading!
