Lionblaze's POV:
I looked around the train compartment we were in, a cozy old-styled train car with plush seats and draperies. I saw Hollyleaf curled up in a corner of the car reading over books for the seemingly millionth time. I huffed and rolled my eyes. I love my sister but she can be so unnecessary sometimes! Jayfeather was fast asleep, his cane propped carefully against his seat.
Cinderheart, Poppyfrost, and Honeyfern were in a different compartment, much to my disappointment. I blushed at the thought but pinched myself to snap out of it. Berrynose's loud voice jerked me out of my thoughts, "No!".
I turned, "What is it?"
He pointed frantically at his manual that had some basic rules about the school. "Phones aren't allowed!"
I rolled my eyes "We've had that rule since elementary school, big deal. You know nobody follows that."
Mousewhisker snickered and punched Berrynose's shoulder "Yeah stupid."
Berrynose glared at us and growled "Phones are turned off completely… by magic."
"WHAT?"
Mousewhisker and I exchanged glances.
Mousewhisker cried "No more brawl stars?"
I groaned "Oh Starclan what did I do to deserve this what did I do?"
Hollyleaf looked away from her book for a second to shoot us an annoyed glance. "Haven't you three read Hogwarts, A History yet? I told you all about it!"
I glared at her "Aren't you upset too? We all just got new phones!"
Hollyleaf sighed "Yeah, but don't you think learning all of this will make up for it? Plus" she grinned "you guys will improve your writing skills since we'll be writing letters home to Mom and Dad from now!"
Mousewhisker, Berrynose, and I groaned simultaneously.
At that moment, a bent over old lady tottered into our compartment with a bursting snack cart. "Snacks? Who wants some snacks!"
Hollyleaf smiled prettily at her and gave some big silver coins. "I'll take two of everything!" The woman grinned back and dumped a colorful mass of packaged snacks on Hollyleaf's lap and turned to us. "Anything for you, gentlemen?"
"No thank you" I said. She nodded and tottered away.
Berrynose chuckled and nudged me, "Good thing your sister is rich." I grinned "Yup". Hollyleaf had accumulated a large sum of money over the summer from working many jobs and then investing it in stocks, like the nerd she is.
Hollyleaf gathered the snacks on her lap and smiled sweetly at us. "Ha, like I'm going to give you anything! I'm going to go over to the girl's compartment" She flipped her silky hair over her shoulder and trotted off.
We sighed, but then Hollyleaf popped back in. Handing me a booklet that was titled "Wizarding Currency, Explained", she scolded "You guys need to know this by the time we get there, I'm not going to buy you anything."
I sighed again. The learning was already starting.
For the next hour we pored over the booklet, why couldn't the wizarding world use simpler currency? Jayfeather was still fast asleep (that lazy lump!) and we decided to get some sleep before we arrived too. I lay down on the soft seat and immediately drifted off to sleep.
Third Person POV
In the other compartment, the girls were busy chatting and gossiping. They already, fortunately, knew about the phone rule from Hollyleaf. They had had a more dramatic reaction than the boys, but they were fine now.
Honeyfern giggled as a chocolate frog leaped around in her hands, "It's so cute!". Cinderheart snickered "Yeah, and delicious!" Reaching out, she snatched the chocolate frog and popped it into her mouth. "Mm!"
Honeyfern shot a stink-eye at Cinderheart and reached for a piece of gum. Taking off the wrapper, she read the flavor "Caramel Chocolate Frog". Shrugging, she popped it into her mouth "Wow this is good!".
Poppyfrost who was currently chatting with Hollyleaf about the mysterious flavors of Bertie Bott's every flavor beans, took out a hairbrush and started to brush her hair again, for the third time. Hollyleaf looked at her. "You know, your hair is already soft and brushed." Poppyfrost giggled "Yeah, but I've gotta go out of my way to look good." Hollyleaf squealed "A boy?"
Poppyfrost smirked and checked her nails "Maybe".
Hollyleaf opened her mouth to ask who, but then she saw the clock. "Oh no!" She exclaimed.
Cinderheart looked up, "What?"
Hollyleaf ran to a bag and started rummaging through it "We should have changed into our robes by now, we're almost there!"
She took out five pairs of black robes and threw one at each girl. "We have to hurry!"
She pulled out four more widely cut robes and hurried away, calling over her shoulder "I'm going to give the boys theirs!"
The girls all laughed over Hollyleaf's panic, but quickly changed into their robes. Hazeltail fluffed her light brown hair over her shoulder. "These robes are pretty cute!"
Honeyfern twirled "How do I look?"
The girls all chimed compliments and Honeyfern giggled. "Perfect!"
Hollyleaf returned dressed in her robes. "I had to wake the boys up, the lazy lumps were sleeping."
Hazeltail rolled her eyes "Sounds like them"
At that moment, another girl bounded into the compartment. She had bushy brown hair and slightly bigger front teeth than normal. She was also changed into her robes.
Honeyfern, being the fashionista she is, gave her a one-up look and unnoticeably winced.
The girl spoke in a bossy voice "Have you seen a toad?"
Poppyfrost said "Oh starclan no, we don't do- toads-"
The bushy haired girl wrinkled her nose "Starclan? What kind of word is that?" Hollyleaf opened her mouth to respond but the girl started talking again "Anyways, it's the toad of Neville, he's in compartment 7 if you find it." Without waiting for a response, she flounced out of the train car.
Honeyfern and Hazeltail exchanged glances. "Weird."
Suddenly the train screeched to a halt and the girls quickly reached for the steel poles on the sides of the seats.
Hollyleaf pushed the draperies away and all of the girls gasped at the sight.
They were at Hogwarts.
