Chapter 9

Rose listened closely to what was being said by Will. It wasn't like they had much of a choice in planning. They needed to be very careful with whatever they were going to plan.

Will pointed on the chart to both Jack and Barbossa. "There's a freshwater spring on this island, where we can resupply."

"You lead the shore party. I'll stay with the ship." Jack said looking at Will.

Barbossa cleared his throat. "I'll not be leaving my ship in your command."

"And he'll not be leaving his ship in your command, and here's an idea. You both go, and leave the ship in my command." Will noticed their looks. "Temporarily. Promise."

Barbossa and Jack moved away to think about what Will was even offering at that moment.

Rose came up to Will her brows furrowing together. "I see the knobs turning in your head." She pointed out looking at him. "You're planning something but don't want to tell anyone."

Will turned his attention to Rose. "You always did figure out when I was up to something."

"Elizabeth won't be too far behind I promise you that." Rose said turning away from him before walking down to find her sister.

Will swallowed the lump in his throat knowing that Rose was right in what she said. Elizabeth was smart and would know that something was off with the whole thing. He could only hope that it wouldn't be for sometime soon.

PIRATES

Rose remained silent as they were surrounded by Chinese pirates. She knew that this was bad and hoped that they would be able to make it out of this alive. She stood next to Elizabeth who was being held by two guards.

Jack and Barbossa spotted Sao Feng at the same time. Jack tried to hide behind Barbossa to make sure that he's not seen.

"Sao Feng. You showing up here, 'tis truly a remarkable coincidence." Barbossa spoke to the Chinese man knowing that there was something wrong.

"Fortune smiles upon those prepared to meet its gaze." Sao Feng said moving towards Jack. "Jack Sparrow. You paid me great insult, once." He slugged Jack in the Jaw.

Jack kept his footing staggering knees buckling. He held up his hands to hold off Sao Feng and searched for his hat. He put it back on his head. "So now we can call it square."

Sao Feng let out a scoff looking at him. "Hardly."

Will came forward seeing Elizabeth and Rose in chains. "They'res not part of the bargain. Release them."

Barbossa looked at Will. "And what bargain be that?"

"You heard Captain Turner. Release the women."

"Captain Turner?" Jack said looking at Will.

"Aye, the perfidious rotter led a mutiny against us." Gibbs said shaking his head.

"It's always the quiet ones."

Elizabeth eyed her bethrothed warily. "Why didn't you tell me you were planning this?"

"It was my burden to bear."

"The only way a pirate can make a profit, these days, is by betraying other pirates." Barbossa said not liking the idea of pirates making profit off of others.

"I can live with that ... as long as I am not the other pirates." Sao Feng said firmly.

"But you've no acrimony toward mutineers?" Jack questioned looking at Sao Feng warily.

"He did not mutiny against me, did he?"

Will looked at Jack. "I need the Pearl. That's the only reason I came on this voyage."

"He needs the Pearl -" Jack looked at Elizabeth. "- and you felt guilty -" He then looked at Barbossa. "and you and your Brethren Court... Didn't anyone come to save me just because they missed me?"

Gibbs, Marty, Cotton raised their hands and Pintel and Ragetti followed their lead.

Jack pointed to them. "I'm standing over there with them."

Sao Feng grabbed his arm. "I'm sorry, Jack, but there's an old friend who wants to see you first."

"I'm not certain I can survive any more visits from old friends."

"Here is our chance to find out." He gestured to his men to take Jack.

The men yanked Jack roughly from the crew.

Rose took a breath gripping her hands at her sides. She knew Beckett was upon that ship and she knew that it meant bad news if he was nearby.
