The moonlight streamed through the window, casting soft shadows on the walls of Fie's room in the dorm. The night was quiet, but Fie tossed and turned in her sleep, caught in the grip of a vivid and strange dream.
Fie found herself bound to a wooden pole, ropes tight around her wrists and ankles, her limbs strained against the bindings. The emerald green princess outfit she wore was frilly and elaborate. She tugged at the ropes, but they were too tight, and the scrunched-up cloth stuffed in her mouth was secured in place with yet another cloth tied over her mouth.
"Ugh…mmmgh!" Fie grumbled.
What is this? Fie wondered, confused and frustrated. Where am I?
She glanced around, taking in the scene. She was in a dimly lit room, surrounded by the sounds of laughter and the clinking of weapons. A group of Jaegers stood around her, their leering faces shadowed by the flickering light of torches.
This is ridiculous... she thought, her mind racing. I'm not some damsel in distress...
Just as the Jaegers began to close in, a loud crashing sound erupted from the door, and Fie's heart skipped a beat. A figure stepped into the room, glowing with an almost ethereal light in the midst of the darkness.
It's her...
Dressed in shining armor, the very image of a heroic knight, Laura strode into the room with confidence. Her sword gleamed in the torchlight, and she cut down the Jaegers one by one with ease. Their mocking laughter turned to shouts of alarm, but they were no match for the swift and powerful Laura.
Fie's heart raced as she watched Laura fight, completely entranced by her grace and strength. Finally, after a few more swift movements, the last Jaeger was defeated. Laura turned, her eyes locking onto Fie as she approached.
Fie's breath caught in her throat as Laura knelt before her, her expression softening. With a single motion, Laura removed the cloth from Fie's mouth.
"Fie," Laura said, her voice warm and reassuring. "Are you alright?"
Fie grinned playfully, despite still being bound. "I knew you'd come for me, my brave knight!"
Laura smiled softly, and in an instant, she leaned in. The world around them seemed to fade away as their lips met in a kiss—gentle, yet full of unspoken promise. For a moment, it was just them, the battle forgotten, the dream fading into nothing.
Fie's eyes snapped open, and she sat up quickly in her bed, her heart pounding in her chest. The morning sunlight streamed through her windows as she took a deep breath, still feeling the remnants of the dream. It faded quickly as she realized where she was—back in her dorm room, safe and sound. Her cheeks burned with embarrassment, and she immediately pulled the covers up to her chin.
What in Gahanna was that? she thought, her mind still reeling from the vividness of the dream.
She was still processing the weirdness of it all when a knock came from her door.
"Fie? Are you awake?"
Laura's voice, calm and gentle as always. Fie froze. Then another knock came.
"Y-Yeah, I'm up," Fie stammered, trying to sound casual. "Come in."
The door opened, and Laura stepped in, her presence filling the room like always. She smiled warmly at Fie, who was doing her best not to show her alarm.
"Good morning," Laura said. "I was wondering if you were ready for breakfast. Everyone's already downstairs."
Fie blinked, then scrambled to pull herself together. She quickly pushed the covers off and swung her legs over the side of the bed.
"Yeah, sure, just a sec." Fie said, getting up to stretch.
Laura watched her, tilting her head slightly. "Is everything alright? You look a little flushed."
Fie's heart skipped a beat. She quickly looked away, brushing her hair behind her ear. "I'm fine. No problems here."
Laura didn't press, but she raised an eyebrow still. "Alright, if you say so. But don't overdo it. We've all got a busy day ahead."
Fie nodded quickly. Her gaze shifted, and she suddenly found herself staring at Laura.
"Yeah, don't worry. Let's eat."
As they leave the room together, fie felt that strange flutter in her chest, the echo of the dream still lingering in her mind.
