The gentle hum of chatter filled the dorm as the students eased into their free day routines. Laura was sitting in the common area, engrossed in a book about legendary swordsmanship techniques, the quiet morning offering her a rare moment of calm.

She heard the sound of light footsteps descending the stairs and glanced up. Her gaze lingered as Fie appeared, her hair now long enough to cascade past her shoulders, soft and shining. She was dressed in a stylish yet understated outfit that blended beauty and charm effortlessly: a fitted lavender blouse paired with a pleated skirt in shades of gray and lavender, matched with knee-high boots. It was an outfit that accentuated her petite frame but still carried a touch of Fie's characteristic flair.

"Fie," Laura said, her tone soft but carrying a note of admiration. "You look stunning."

Fie paused mid-step, her lips quirking into a small smirk as she placed a hand on her hip. "Pretty nice, huh?" she said, giving a playful little twirl that made her skirt flare slightly.

Laura's lips curved into a warm smile as she set her book down. "It suits you perfectly. The length of your hair… and the outfit. You've really outdone yourself today."

Fie rubbed the back of her neck, a faint blush dusting her cheeks. "Thanks, Laura," she said softly, her playful demeanor momentarily giving way to genuine appreciation.

As she stepped closer, Fie added, "I've got a busy day. I'm meeting with the ladies from the gardening club, and then I'm meeting up with Toval in town."

"Toval?" Laura asked, tilting her head in curiosity.

"Yeah," Fie said, her expression brightening. "The Bracers are officially operating again. I've been thinking about it for a while, and I decided I want to take the Bracer test. Toval's going to help me prepare."

Laura's smile widened, and she rose from her seat to face Fie. "That's wonderful, Fie. I know how much this means to you. You'll make an incredible Bracer—I have no doubt about it."

Fie looked down for a moment, her hand absently brushing a strand of hair behind her ear. "Thanks, Laura," she said, her voice quieter now. "It's kind of exciting, but I guess I'm a little nervous too."

"You have nothing to be nervous about," Laura said, her tone steady and reassuring. "You've faced more dangerous situations than most seasoned Bracers. And you've got the skills, the instincts, and the heart for it."

Fie met Laura's gaze, and her small smile softened into something more vulnerable. "Hearing that from you means a lot," she said.

Laura placed a hand gently on Fie's shoulder. "If you ever need help preparing or even just someone to talk to, I'm here for you."

Fie grinned, her confidence returning. "I know. That's part of why I think I can do this." She adjusted her bag and gave Laura a playful wink. "Anyway, I'd better get going before Toval starts wondering if I overslept or something."

"Good luck," Laura said with a small bow of her head. "I'll be waiting to hear all about it when you return."

As Fie turned to leave, she glanced back over her shoulder, her long hair swaying with the movement. "I'll hold you to that," she said with a smirk.

Laura watched her go, her heart swelling with pride and affection. Fie had grown so much, not just in her appearance but in her confidence and determination. Laura returned to her seat, but the book in her lap went forgotten, her thoughts lingering on Fie's radiant smile and the exciting journey that awaited her.
