*gasp* He did it! Phineas actually took some initiative in Isabella... but why?

"Cause I want to ask you something."

"Oh, okay. Well just ask it then." He looked to the ground blushing a little so I kept going, "come on Phin, we've been friends for years. You can ask me anything."

"Right, yea, okay. Here goes. Isabella, will you go on a date with me?"

What?

Ferb- During the after party, before the big question

I made sure to sit with Isabella early in the party, I wanted to talk to her about how it went with Phineas.

"Psst." I nudged her gently as I sat down next to her.

"Hey, Ferb," she whispered back taking some of the snacks I had brought.

I shoot her a look and she gives a quick shrug.

"How did it go with Phineas?" I get right to the point.

She goes still and then puts her forehead in her hands. "You won't believe what I did."

"Isabella, did you tell him you hated his guts?"

"What? No, that's crazy."

"Exactly my point."

"Yea, yea what I did isn't as bad as that."

"So, what did you do?"

She paused, taking a breath, "I forgot to tell him during our dance."

I stare at her. "You didn't."

"I did. I literally forgot to tell him how I felt Ferb."

She slumped, clearly defeated.

"Bella, there will be other chances."

"Not unless I do something about it."

I frown at her. She finally turns to look at me. "Please don't be disappointed in me."

My eyebrows scrunch, "when has anyone ever been disappointed in you? Especially me."

She gives a slight pout, "never. I'm disappointed in myself."

"There will be other chances." I put a comforting hand on her shoulder and give her a slight squeeze.

She smiles lightly and turns back to the movie. I leave the snacks with her and get up to find my next target. Phineas.

I found him quickly sitting in his usual place on our coach. I step over the back to slide in between him and Django. I glance at Django and give him an apologetic look.

"Hey, Ferb. What brings you to this side of the room?" he chuckles lightly.

I gesture to him.

"Me? What about me?"

I put up both my hands.

"Nothing bad, that's good. You had me worried for a minute bro."

I smile at him. Then I gesture to him and point over to Isabella, who is too engrossed in the movie to notice I am talking about her.

"Isabella and I," he takes a moment to think, "I was able to get a dance with her! I wasn't sure I would since everyone else really wanted a dance."

I make a go-on gesture with my hand.

"Go on? I mean, that's really all."

"Do you like her?"

"Well, she's my best friend, other than you of course."

I gesture again.

"You mean like as in a crush?"

I nod.

He stills, brain working overtime. "I've never thought about it."

I sign to him, Why?

"Isabella is my closest friend who isn't my bother, I guess I didn't feel a need for the relationship to be different."

"Would you want to try?"

"I can do that?"

I shrug, implying, why not?

"I do like her, that is kinda the point of dating yea? See if you would be compatible in a romantic relationship?"

I nod. It was certainly one view of dating.

"I'll do it then. I'm going to ask her on a date right now."

I shoot him two thumbs up before he jumps up and goes over to where Isabella is sitting.

"You're a good friend, Ferb." Django on my left said, turning toward me.

I nod in thanks.

"Maybe too good a friend though."

I look at him quizzically.

"You deserve a chance at happiness as much as the two of them." He turns away, ending the conversation.

What on earth is he talking about?

Isabella - the next day

I wake up to a notification on my phone.

Phineas: Are you free today at 3:00 pm?

Isabella: Yea! What for?

Phineas: Our date of course!

Oh! I had almost forgotten. Phineas actually asked me out last night!

Isabella: Yes, amazing. What should I wear?

Phineas: Regular clothes?

Isabella: Sounds great, see you then!

Oh my gosh! I am going on a date with Phineas!

"Mom!" I get out of bed looking around for her.

"Yes, Isa?"

"Phineas and I are going on a date later!"

"Oh my! That is very exciting. What are you going to do?" she grabs my hands.

"I, well I have no idea. He didn't tell me."

"Oh, a surprise, how romantic. Do you need help getting ready?"

"I don't think so, he said just normal clothes work."

"Interesting, " she paused in thought, "well you can tell me all about it later then."

"Of course mama." With that, I went upstairs to find an outfit.

After going through a handful of options I settled on my go-to. It felt a little strange to wear what I always wear for a first date. Phineas did say it was casual though.

*ding dong*

Speaking of, that must be him!
