– «Hey, mom»
– «Fruit of my lion's, where you disappeared, I was waiting for your call whole morning»
– «Moooom, we already talked about that, I can't call you regularly with my routine.»
– «I know, know, but I still hope that you'll do it.» Lorelai said in her manner. « Well, how is Chicago, have you met anybody new? How is your roommate Lane or Lina or..»
– «It's Lena mom and she is fine, actually I am not in Chicago, I am in..»
– «Not in Chicago? Where are you? What's going on?» she interrupted.
– «Well, you all have to learn to listen and to give me an opportunity to explain!» and Rory told her everything what happened, she tried to ramble as fast as she can, to not to give Lorelai an opportunity to interrupt her and when she finished, she had no idea what her mother is going to say.
– «Ror are you out of your freaking mind? Who you are, I don't even recognise you right now! You left your job, you left Hugo without reporter in Chicago and for what? For a limo boy who left you at your graduation day?» Lorelai literally screamed loudly.
– «Mom stop it, Obama is giving a speech only tomorrow and Hugo was absolutely fine and understood why I have to leave, he'll send my replacement today and for Logan... mom common you know why he left and you know that I was devastated, how can you imagine that in time like this your daughter, was able to just stay in Chicago? You know that I care about him, that I love him and that he loves me back.»
– «And what's next? You are going to lose your job, runaway with him and became a Hartford wife, rejoin DAR? And wait him at home, while he will change secretary's every week because of..»
– «Moooom stop, from where are this thoughts? I don't know what is going to happen, I don't even know when he is going to be released from hospital, but no matter what, I am never going to be perfect Hartford wife, you know that and Logan is never going to be typical rich husband and you know that too!» Rory was furious at her mothers word's.
– «Fine, fine, we both need to calm down, just call or message me when you'll have information about how long you are going to stay in San Francisco.»
– «Fine, I'll do it, bye mom»
Well, this conversation was terrible and Rory didn't understand why she deserved such a harsh reaction from her mother, she was just here helping to Logan after a car accident, she wasn't announcing that she is pregnant or that they eloped! She tried to calm herself down and went back in room.
While Rory was absent, there was happening another conversation:
– «Sooo, she is here, she is really here» said Honor after Rory left them.
– «Yeap, and she was the first one here in town and stayed up for a whole night in corridor» Finn added.
– «And she is at the same time very nervous, but also very confident in her decision to be here with our lover boy» Colin said and looked at Logan.
– «How you feel about that?» finally Josh asked him.
– «I love her, I had no idea that I was able to love her even more than before, but I do. I was in disbelief when I saw her, but it was such a relief to know that she is here.» Logan said truly happily.
– «Logan just be..»
– «Honor stop it, you know how I feel about her and how much I need her in my life, I am literally a zombie without Ace.»
– «Logan I know, I just wanted to say be careful, you both broked each other, I don't want to see you suffer again» and Logan just nodded in answer.
After that, they chatted a little about what's going on in their lives. When Rory came back it was time for Logan to have a meal, and well obviously he wasn't a fan of hospital food at all, but he has no options. Boy's and Honor went to order something in cafeteria, they hoped, that they'll find something good.
– «Ace, when was the last time you ate?»
– «Well, Finn brought me a lot of donuts» she chuckled.
– «I mean real food, not junk food.» he added and smirked. How she missed his smirk and how he called her Ace, she felt so warm when he without hesitation started today calling her Ace, like nothing happened.
– «Heeey, you know that for Gilmore girls junk food IS a real food! It's written in the book!» she laughed.
– «Yeah, of course» he laughed too, but next added «Ace, please go and have a lunch with everybody, if you want me to stay in stress-free state , you have to eat and feel good.»
– «And here we are, you are again schooling me because of my nutrition and you are again forgetting about my perfect metabolism.»
– «Acee»
– «Okay, fine, I will go and eat, we all will be back in a little, if you need something call somebody from the boys or Honor and..»
– «Why I can't call you?» he asked puzzled.
– «You still have my number?» Rory curiously asked in answer.
– «You changed your number?»
– «Umm, noo, why are you asking?»
– «Than I remember it by heart» he chuckled and said it a little proudly.
– «Oh, wow, really wow.» Rory added shockingly.
– «You deleted my number?»
– «What? No, of course no, it's, it's still at number 1 on speed dial.» they both looked at eachother and somehow felt confidence in this moment. «Well, I'll go, I hope that there is still something in cafeteria» and they both laughed at that.
After lunch, Logan was took by doctors, Rory and Honor went in hotel to shower and change. Thankfully girl's without any awkwardness continued their day. And the next one too, it went in a same style.
Somewhere at 6 p.m. at Saturday evening Mr Campbell told them, that Logan will be released tomorrow at 2 p.m, all test results were fine and he'll just need to check up in hospital once in a week for next month and have to be careful with his left hand.

At 2 p.m group left San Francisco Central and because of Logans request, they went in hotel. Colin was supposed to leave in a few hours and Honor and Josh had a flight back in Barcelona at evening, Finn was going to stay in town for a few more days. And Rory? Well, she had no idea, Obama's campaign in Chicago will stay for few more days and she was covered there, so she had a few free days. She also was thinking why Logan asked to go to hotel and not to his place, maybe he was just not ready to see her there?
They spend the rest of the time together watching movies, while they of course argued a little, they ended up watching new movie about Harry Potter «Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix». Well both Rory and Logan had already seen it, like come on now, movie came out a month and half ago and surprisingly Finn also saw it, but Colin, Honor and Josh watched it for the first time.
In a few hours Colin and after him our married couple said their goodbyes and took from Rory a promise to stay in touch. And Finny decided, that he is bored and wants to have fun, so he left and went in hotels bar.
Logan and Rory stayed alone in awkward silence.
– «I forgot how it feels to be tired after days in hospital.»
– «Oh, right, you must be exhausted, you want to lay down somewhere here in suit or maybe you already want to leave and to go at home?»
– «You want me to leave?»
– «No, Logan, of course I don't want it, just it was your decision to come in hotel and well I thought that you.. that you»
– «That I what?»
– «Don't want to show me your place.» she said while looking anywhere, but not at him.
He stood up and walked close to her.
– «Ace, Ace look at me» she was still looking away, he gently touched her face and made her to look directly in his eyes.
– «Rory listen, I want to show you my house, I am more afraid of your reaction at it.» he whispered and touched her forehead with his. «Let's call Finn's driver and drive to Palo Alto, if you can, please pack your luggage, I would like you to stay there, I honestly don't want to see how you'll come back here in the middle of the night. And I promise that you can stay in any room you want, I have overall 4 guest room and a nice sofa in living room» he chuckled.
So it was it, they packed and sat in the car, Logan was obviously nervous about her reaction and Rory was wondering was it that house with an avocado tree?
