Authors note I still don't own Harry potter :p but some of this was taken from the books so more credits to J. K. Rowling
When I woke up I was pretty excited to buy some clothes stuff so I woke up Hermione at 6:30 am. " Hermione, wake up, we're going shopping with professor McGonagall today!" I exclaimed as I shook Hermione awake. " I'm awake" she said groggily as she stretched and got out of her bed.
" What should we wear?" I asked as I searched through my closet. "I dunno, Maybe baggy jeans and an oversized shirt, just wear something casual." She yawned as she grabbed an outfit for herself.
I searched through my closet before finally finding an oversized sky blue shirt with baggy jeans and got changed. For my hair style I just did two braids. I rushed downstairs as fast as I could. Mum was sitting in the living room drinking a cup of coffee when I sat next to her and asked, " Mum, could you please get an owl, I promise I'll take care of it and I'll use it to mail you from hogwarts?" I begged
. "Hmm, i was going to give you some money each to buy whatever you want separately from your school things so if you have enough you can get a pet.." mum replied. Yes, I've always wanted a pet, I thought. There was only 20 more minutes till professor Mcgonagall was here, i couldn't wait. I dashed upstairs to grab my bag, in it I stuffed my wallet, some chapstick, and a hair tie. By time hermione had also gotten ready and was waiting down stairs by the sofa next to mum.
"
Hey, Sam," she said as she tied back her hair to keep it from blocking her eyes. A loud knocking noise came from the door. I walked to the door to open it for who I assumed was professor mcgonagall, instead there was a huge man with a brown beard standing next to a kid who looked around my age and he had green eyes and messy black hair. "Who are you?" I was confused. The giant chuckled. "True, I haven't introduced meself. Rubeus Hagrid, Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts. Something came up and professor mcgonagall wasn't able to come, an' i told her i was taking harry here and could take you two as well." he said. " oh okay, i'll get my sister then we can leave." I said , sounding relieved.
"Hermione , we're leaving." I hollered from the door. She stood up and joined me at the door as Hagrid re-explained why he was here. We walked to the street before Hagrid called the knight bus. A few seconds later A double decker bus appeared in front of us. "You three sit in the back while I pay" Hagrid ordered as he gave some money to the driver. We found a row of four seats in the back of the first level and sat down.
"So Harry, are you excited for hogwarts." I asked , trying to be friendly. " oh, um yes, I'm excited but I never knew about Hogwarts before this because I lived with my aunt and uncle and they were against me knowing about magic." he said awkwardly as if he didn't expect me to talk to him.
"Our parents aren't magical so we only figured it out when we got our letters" I said. "Uhm, well, are you two siblings?" he asked. "oh , yes , we're twins but we don't really look like we do," I said with a giggle. Hagird came and sat down with us soon after. " Harry looks like you've already made friends," Hagrid said, sending Harry a huge smile. "Er, sort of, " Harry replied.
"If you don't mind me asking what are yur names" Hagrid asked me and hermione. " my name is samantha, but you can call me sam, and her name is hermione." I said. "Hold onto yur seats the bus is starting." Hagrid said as the bus started driving. Harid wasn't exaggerating. I was sure the bus was speeding.
Within a few minutes we had reached Diagon alley. My sickness and nausea made up for the speed though. I was glad the bus had finally stopped. All four of us rushed off the bus. The moment I saw Diagon Alley my sickness disappeared. Diagon alley was an alley filled with bustling shops and people wearing robes. "Wow," said Hermione (which I'm assuming is partially because we were in front of a huge book shop) .
"Wow is right"I said , amazed. "Our first stop is gringotts" hagrid said as we followed him squeezing through groups of people. "When we arrived and were waiting I asked Hagrid a question, " what is gringotts" I asked, looking around.
" well gringotts is only the best bank in london, you'd be mad to rob it with all the spells — enchantments,". "They say there's dragons guarding the high-security vaults. And then yeh gotta find your way — Gringotts is hundreds of miles under London, see. Deep under the Underground. Yeh'd die of hunger trying' ter get out, even if yeh did manage ter get yer hands on up the white stone steps toward him. The goblin was about a head shorter than Harry.
He had a swarthy, clever face, a pointed beard and very long fingers and feet. He bowed as they walked inside. Now they were facing a second pair of doors, silver this time, with words engraved upon them: Enter, stranger, but take heed Of what awaits the sin of greed, For those who take, but do not earn, Must pay most dearly in their turn. So if you seek beneath our floors A treasure that was never yours, Thief, you have been warned, beware Of finding more than treasure there.
"
Like I said, yeh'd be mad ter try an' rob it," said Hagrid. A pair of goblins bowed them through the silver doors and they were in a vast marble hall. About a hundred more goblins were sitting on high stools behind a long counter, scribbling in large ledgers, weighing coins in brass scales, examining precious stones through eyeglasses. There were too many doors to count leading off the hall, and yet more goblins were showing people in and out of these. Hagrid and Harry made for the counter as we followed behind them. ht, left, middle fork, right, left, but it was impossible. The rattling cart seemed to know its own way, because Griphook wasn't steering. my eyes stung as the cold air rushed past them, but he kept them wide open. Once, I thought he saw a burst of fire at the end of a passage and twisted around to see if it was a dragon, but too late — they plunged even deeper, passing an underground lake where huge stalactites and stalagmites grew from the ceiling and floor. "I never know," Harry called to Hagrid over the noise of the cart, "what's the difference between a stalagmite and a stalactite?" "Stalagmite's got an 'm' in it," said Hagrid. "An' don' ask me questions just now, I think I'm gonna be sick."
He did look very green, and when the cart stopped at last beside a small door in the passage wall, Hagrid got out and had to lean against the wall to stop his knees from trembling. Griphook unlocked the door. A lot of green smoke came billowing out, and as it cleared, Harry gasped. Inside were mounds of gold. Wow , that's probably more money than my house's worth, I thought. coins. Columns of silver. Heaps of little bronze Knuts. "All yours," smiled Hagrid. All Harry's — it was incredible. The Dursleys couldn't have known about this or they'd have had it from him faster than blinking. How often had they complained how much Harry cost them to keep? And all the time there had been a small fortune belonging to him, buried deep under London.
Hagrid helped Harry pile some of it into a bag. "The gold ones are Galleons," he explained. "Seventeen silver Sickles to a Galleon and twenty-nine Knuts to a Sickle, it's easy enough. Right, that should be enough for a couple of terms, we'll keep the rest safe for yeh." He turned to Griphook. "Vault seven hundred and thirteen now, please, and can we go more slowly?" "One speed only," said Griphook. They were going even deeper now and gathering speed. The air became colder and colder as they hurtled round tight corners. They went rattling over an underground ravine, and Harry leaned over the side to try to see what was down at the dark bottom, but Hagrid groaned and pulled him back by the scruff of his neck. We slowly made our way out of the vaults and made our way to Madam Malkin's Robes for All Occasions.
"Listen, would yeh three mind if I slipped off fer a pick-me-up in the Leaky Cauldron? I hate them Gringotts carts." He did still look a bit sick, so We entered Madam Malkin's shop alone, feeling nervous. Madam Malkin was a squat, smiling witch dressed all in mauve. "Hogwarts, dears?" she said, when Harry started to speak. "Got the lot here — another young man being fitted up just now, in fact." In the back of the shop, a boy with a pale, pointed face was standing on a footstool while a second witch pinned up his long black robes. Madam Malkin stood Harry on a stool next to him.
" You two dears will be fitted by my assistant on the other side," she said with a warm smile. The assistants fitted us both, placing the long robes over our heads .Afterwards she slipped a long robe over Harry's head, and began to pin it to the right length. Although we were on the other side and separated by a curtain, "Hello," said the boy, "Hogwarts, too?" "Yes," said Harry. "My father's next door buying my books and Mother's up the street looking at wands," said the boy. He had a bored, drawling voice.
"Then I'm going to drag them off to look at racing brooms. I don't see why first years can have brooms but I'll smuggle it in somehow." "Have you got your own broom?" the boy went on. "No," said Harry. "Play Quidditch at all?" "No," Harry said again, wondering what on earth Quidditch could be. "I do — Father says it's a crime if I'm not picked to play for my House, and I must say, I agree. Know what House you'll be in yet?" "No," said Harry, making me feel more stupid by the minute. "Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they, but I know I'll be in Slytherin, all our family have been — imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?"first years can't have their own. I think I'll bully Father into getting me one and I'll smuggle it in somehow."
"Mmm," said Harry, I was wishing he could say something a bit more interesting. "I say, look at that man!" said the boy suddenly, nodding toward the front window. Hagrid was standing there, grinning at Harry and pointing at four large ice creams to show he couldn't come in. "That's Hagrid," said Harry, pleased to know something the boy didn't. "He works at Hogwarts." "Oh," said the boy, "I've heard of him. He's a sort of servant, isn't he?" "He's the gamekeeper," said Harry. I could tell He was liking the boy less and less every second.
"Yes, exactly. I heard he's a sort of savage — lives in a hut on the school grounds and every now and then he gets drunk, tries to do magic, and ends up setting fire to his bed." "I think he's brilliant," said Harry coldly. "Do you?" said the boy, with a slight sneer. "Why is he with you? Where are your parents?" "They're dead," said Harry shortly. He didn't feel much like going into the matter with this boy. "Oh, sorry," said the other, not sounding sorry at all. "But they were our kind, weren't they?" "They were a witch and wizard, if that's what you mean."
"I really don't think they should let the other sort in, do you? They're just not the same, they've never been brought up to know our ways. Some of them have never even heard of Hogwarts until they get the letter, imagine. I had never known hogwarts before and i was doing perfectly fine, this guy is officially on my bad side i thought. I think they should keep it in the old wizarding families. What's your surname, anyway?" But before Harry could answer, Madam Malkin said, "That's you done, my dear," and Harry, not sorry for an excuse to stop talking to the boy, hopped down from the footstool. "Well, I'll see you at Hogwarts, I suppose," said the drawling boy. The assistants were finished with our robes soon after too. They handed them to us and we made our way to where Hagrid and Harry were sitting.
I pulled two more chairs for me and Hermione then Hagrid passed us our icecreams. " ooh, this ice cream is delicious thank you" I exclaimed after trying a bit. " Hagrid, when are we getting our school books?" Hermione asked with a funny looking ice cream mustache. "Right after this." Hagrid said while eating his own cone. After we had all finished our ice cream and cleaned up we headed to the bookstore. "Hagrid, is it okay if I go to buy an owl if Hermione gets my books for me ?" I asked . " Sure, I was just about ter get Harry an owl so you could come with me." Hagrid said as we left the store leaving hermione and harry.
We arrived at the owlery where the whole store was filled with screeching owls. One caught my eye. It was a small brown bird with green eyes named sage, from that moment I knew I had to buy her. I bought sage, and Hagrid bought a snowy owl named Hedwig for harry. We met back at the bookstore with hermione and harry and headed to olivanders to buy our wands. We entered the store and were greeted by an oldish man named Ollivanders. When we were getting our wands I went first. The first wand I tried was a vine wand with a unicorn hair core, " Now try this spell, repeat after me, Or-kid-ee-us" Ollivander requested. "Orchideous" I said, but nothing happened. Olliveander took back the wand and bought another one.
T
his one was silver lime with a unicorn hair string, but yet again when I tried the spell it failed, again. The next wand Ollivander gave me was a cherry wand with a dragon heartstring core, when I tried the spell a flower appeared in my hand. Finally i had found my wand. As I paid for my wand and opened the case
That was weird but it was probably for someone else, right? There were lots of sams in the wizarding world. Soon after harry, and Hermione got their wands too. As Ollivander gave Harry his wand I heard him mutter curious ,curious ,curious. I heard him mutter under his breath. " I'm sorry but what's curious?" Harry asked. "Your wand uses the feather from the same bird as the one that gave you that scar" he claimed. After we had all collected our things. Hagrid dropped us home and we went straight to bed.
