Dear mum and dad,
A Lot has been going on even though It's only been a month since school started! School has been fine so far and Hermione (of course) is top of our class. The problem is that Hermione thinks i might be doing too much, and we have a crazy teacher but other than that schools have been fine and we will see you on our next break.

After I finished my letter and sent it to my parents I realized that I forgot my coat in the common room. Feeling unhappy and tired, I walked down the stairs to retrieve my coat. When I got to the sofa to grab it I noticed Hermione was holding the door to the common room and it looked like she was berating someone. I walked to the door to try to get her to bed but when I had reached the door I noticed Ron, and Harry who were standing outside, but the strange thing was they looked like they wanted to leave, not stay. "What are you doing, and why are you outside?" I asked. Before either of the boys could answer, Hermione interrupted, "These two were trying to leave for a duel against Malfoy!" She said angrily.
Before I could stop myself a snicker left my mouth and both Hermione and the boys turned towards me thinking I was laughing at them. "Are you guys joking, you're dueling against Malfoy, and it's after curfew. Are you two going crazy?" I asked. "We aren't crazy and why can't we fight him, do you think he's going to beat us?" Ron said, sounding a bit frustrated. "It's not that, maybe it's the fact that he's pranking you. Malfoy wouldn't want to fight you two unless it was in front of all the slytherin goons, so he's probably setting you up. Did you two even pack the proper things you might need for a duel who knows what might happen." I said as I stepped out of the room and looked at the boys who had nothing but a bag that seemed empty, and their wands. "Well if he isn't pranking us then we will be known as cowards." Harry said. In Hermione's frustration she let go of the door and it closed. I faced the door prepared to enter this week's password, but the fat lady was gone!
In my state of tiredness, despair, and hopes to not get caught by filch i said something I probably wouldn't have said if i had enough sleep the day before( sadly hermione was right on the i'm not getting enough sleep part), "Well I guess we have to go to the duel then. It's either that or get caught by the prefects patrolling" i said. Hermione gave me a look that I translated to Sam are you dumb why are you going with them? WE started to walk and hermione who looked like our mom when me and Hermione fought over what we wanted to do on our birthday, tired and frustrated. We quietly walked through the halls and up the stairs until we reached the dueling room where Draco had said he would meet them.
Instead we found filch who looked overjoyed. We might have been able to get away without filch noticing if it weren't for peeves. " First years in the hallways first years in the hallway," he sang , but by then filch had spotted us. Lucky the dark made it hard to tell who we were. We ran for it trying to open the door nearest to us. Harry tried to pull the door open but it was locked. "Alohomora" I said under my breath before the door swung open and we all rushed inside. From the other side of the door we could hear filch and peeves fighting, "Peeves what are you yelling about?" Filch asked grumply. "Well, if you are going to yell at me i won't tell you where the students are!, unless you say sorry, but if you dont i wont tell you nothing" Peeves giggled. "Oh fine, sorry, now tell me where these students are!" Filch snapped. "Nothing," Peeves giggled as he flew away to bother someone else. Flich stormed out yelling some words and left to patrol the first floor. When Flich finally left I felt relieved. Suddenly i heard a bark and turned around startled only to face a huge three headed dog.
My reflexes hit and I dashed out the door followed by everyone else. "What the hell is wrong with this place, why is there a three headed dog?" I whispered angrily as we caught our breath. "Well, i'm going to bed before you two come up with more ridiculous ideas to get us killed or worse expelled" Hermione fumed as she pulled me with her to our dorm when the fat lady had come back.
