Morning was setting in quietly on a new day. For Shirou it did truly feel like a new beginning. Excalibur was dispatched, the Four Kings were done for and now he was sitting in his home at the dining table next to Rin, holding her hand underneath the table.

Illya was sleeping off the entire night in the next room over. It seemed to all have taken a toll on her. And Shirou had to admit that it had on him as well. The entire night felt like a weird dream he had just woken up from. Especially given his encounter with Saber again. He didn't feel sad as he would've initially thought he would be. Instead he felt like a load was taken off his shoulders.

"On behalf of the Clock Tower and the Mage's Association, I owe you both a debt of unparallel gratitude," Waver said to them from across the table "thanks to your help and courage the Magus in the world are safe and well."

Waver smiled at them, it was an odd sight to behold considering the way he looked.

"So…what now?" Shirou asked.

"Well for one I have placed a call towards the Mage's Association to come in and clean this mess up. With Manadek as well as his children dead the threat he poses has been nullified. I will present my case to my superiors within the Clock Tower and hopefully we can hope to prevent the next Manadek from attempting this again. Sadly his threat wasn't taken seriously enough the first time. I hope that with this in mind we can prevent another one like him from attempting the same."

Shirou nodded in agreement. This was nothing short of a tragedy and despite how much he had despised Argus Manadek, he couldn't help but feel bad for him. Misguided as he was, he was just a man in pain looking for a way to satiate that pain. Sadly at the expense of everything else around him. He couldn't even imagine how much more broken he would be if he had lived to know that his daughter had been using him as well.

"What about the rest of the Four Kings?" Rin asked Waver almost a bit cautiously.

"Well with Manadek gone that leaves Fallow, Lawrence and Richter unaccounted for and…"

"Richter is dead" Rin interrupted.

Shirou looked up at her, he could feel her hand shaking as it held on tighter to his. It seemed that Rin knew more then she was letting on.

"And how do you know that Miss Tohsaka?" Waver asked her.

"Because Elena told me. I don't know if she killed him but she told me he was dead and after that she managed to retrieve that hand he created. I don't know if it means something coming from her but maybe you should check out the abandoned hospital to be certain."

Waver nodded in agreement "yeah you are probably right. In that case that just leaves Fallow and Lawrence and we have no idea where they could be hiding if they are still alive."

Shirou was certain that Fallow was still alive, and probably still with Sakura. His feelings regarding her where a bit uncertain. After all she had sold out Richter for what he did to Sakura, it seemed her loyalty was with her and not with the Four Kings. As for Lawrence or Gil or whatever he called himself, he last saw him flying across the sky. Whether he survived or not. Who could say?

"But that does bring me to the next point I wish to talk to you both about. I'll make it very simple. You deserve to be rewarded for your bravery in the face of this crisis. So I hereby offer you both a scholarship at the Clock Tower."

Rin's eyes lit up in disbelief "Wait! Really? Study at the Clock Tower?"

Waver nodded "exactly Miss Tohsaka. I think you have well and truly earned this opportunity. And by your reaction I can assume you are in agreement to this proposal."

Rin smiled confidently "absolutely!"

Waver then turned to Shirou "and what about you Mister Emiya? What do you say?"

"Honestly I'm not sure. You're asking me to leave everything behind here. I need some time to think about it."

Waver again nodded "understandable. Take your time. I know it's a lot to take in right now but it's a great opportunity."

With that Waver stood up from the table "I'll be taking my leave now. I have to do some research and start the cleanup of all of this. Once again I thank you both for your help, without you two I don't know what the world would be like now."

With that he left them, exiting out of the home to start on his work. Leaving Rin and Shirou alone. Rin looked Shirou into the eye and said.

"You're not thinking about actually declining this opportunity!"

Shirou sighed "look Rin I just don't know yet. I don't know if studying to be a proper mage is the right thing to do. Plus I can't just leave all this behind."

Rin huffed at that response, taking in a deep breath "look I know it's a lot to ask. But please consider. I…I want you to come with me."

Shirou smiled as she said that, still holding her hand and looking at her he said "I'll think about it…"

They leaned in and gave each other a kiss. It was still a strange feeling that this was happening. That he had found love again. With Rin Tohsaka no less.

As they parted he looked into her eyes and asked "I have to know. Do you know what happened to Richter?"

Upon asking this Rin looked down, clutching Shirou's hand even tighter.

"I killed him Shirou. He hurt Sakura too badly. I couldn't let him get away with it. I…I had no choice."

Shirou pulled her in and hugged her. He wasn't planning on judging her in the slightest. He just wanted her to be honest and was thankful she was. This strange feeling between them, this love that had blossomed. It made him both hopeful and uncertain. But when all was said and done, and whatever the future would hold he knew that with her by her side he could face anything.

He cradled her chin gently and pulled her in for another soft and tender kiss, getting lost in each other and their newfound love.
