Chapter 29: Return of the Ghost Maiden Part 1
Those that probably saw the Ghost of the Maiden's Peak, know the legend of the ghost maid and the Gastly that can talk and shape-shift using its hypnotic powers. I decided to have the maiden reunite with her true love, this is the only first part.
On the ocean outside of the Porta Vista.
Late at night.
A mysterious spirit mass was floating on the ocean's surface on an old small boat and inside was a Pokeball that a bit rusty. "My love...I will...come...to you...I...will...return..." A voice from the spirit called and it was a male. "I have to return the maiden that I left..."
At Route 8, West exit of Lavender Town.
Barry was on the grass plains calling his Nuzleaf, Tepig, Frillish, and Skamory. "Alright, you guys, let's start our special training! Nuzleaf, you will practice dodging Tepig's Ember, and Frillish will practice aiming your Water Pulse at Skarmory. Skamory will you dodge the Frillish's Water Pulse to improve your speed." All of his Pokemon understood and nodded their heads. "Let the training!"
Meanwhile, Paul and his group arrived at the small town celebrating Obon.
The festival had small booths with games and food being sold on the streets. There were beautiful dancers entertaining the customers.
Daisy was checking at the dock seeing the ocean. "Wow, such a view. The ocean is a good place to have this kind of festival."
Paul was amused by the noisy people. "Geez, can these people turn down their noise?" He felt someone's hands pulled his cheeks. "C'mon don't be so insensitive jerk!" Hilda barked comically.
"I see that you're still a little non-social," There was Conway with his usual cool expression.
"Conway...what a surprise," Paul muttered unamused to see the nerd trainer.
"C'mon, don't be like that, at least, I won't be here alone," Conway said with a smirk.
"I take it that you're a friend of these two." Daisy presumed.
Conway's face was jaw-dropped of who he was meeting. "No way...are you Daisy Oak? The Granddaughter of Professor Samuel Oak!?" His jaw went up and stars sparkled in his eyes which was uncharacastic of him. "It's an honor to meet you!"
"Looks like Oak's family is more popular than I thought," Hilda said.
Paul didn't say a word.
"Anyway, did you come here to check out the festival too?" Daisy asked.
Conway chuckled a bit as his glasses glowed. "I did, but, I heard rumors of this place. That a ghost of the maid lurks here during the night before the festival ends which is in two days counting today."
"A ghost..." Daisy thought recalling the details that she learned the tales from Ash's tales during his first journey. "It must be the talking Gastly."
"Daisy Oak, I presume," Another voice was heard from behind and there was a middle-aged man with short brown hair and gray eyes. He wore a pair of glasses as well as a white lab coat with two pockets and a collared teal shirt. He wore brown pants, a black belt, and brown shoes. "To think I would make it here on time to experience the Festival and I see you brought company."
Conway was lost for words until he found his voice. "Wow, the famous Professor Elm!" He smirked pushing his glasses back. "I take it that you're from the Johto Region, right?"
"Uhh...yes, and who you might be?" Professor Elm asked a little surprised.
Conway felt a little embarrassed. "Oh, forgive my manners, I'm Conway from the Sinnoh Region."
"I'm Hilda from Nuvema Town of the Unova Region."
"And I'm Paul...nice to see you again," Conway and Hilda looked at Paul with surprise, but before they could get a word out, Professor Elm smiled at the purple-haired trainer. "Paul, it's been quite a long time. Back then you traveled with Reggie."
Daisy wasn't too surprised. "I see, I forgot that Paul traveled with his brother when he was collecting badges."
"Anyway, how is going so far?" Professor Elm asked.
"I just won my Tactics Symbol," Paul answered.
"I won my Marsh Badge," Hilda added. "So I got a total of three badges."
Conway chuckled while taking out his badge case. "I got three badges however soon I'll head to Celadon City for next my gym battle."
"How about we explore the port below, just to take in the view from close?" Daisy suggested.
Conway chuckled. "An excellent idea, I would enjoy seeing the ocean from the port."
Hilda had no qualms with it. "Yeah, we should let out our Pokemon to stretch their bodies out."
Paul didn't like the idea of relaxing but, decided to go with this for now. "I don't care..."
"But, before we do, we should gather some lunch and bring it to the dock to enjoy it," Elm advised.
"Yeah, eating by the ocean sounds like fun too!" Hilda squealed excitedly.
A short time later they arrived at the dock with some food from the festival.
Hilda took out her Pokeballs and threw them. "Let's party!"
"Samurott..."
"Bulba-saur!"
"Eevee!"
"Vul!"
Paul threw his Pokeballs. "Stand by!"
"Charmander!"
"Sawk!"
"Beldum!"
"Scyther!"
Conway threw four Pokeballs. "Come on out!"
"Slowking..."
"Heracross!"
"Lickilicky!"
A new Pokemon was seen. "Kecleon..."
"Wow, what Pokemon is that?" Hilda asked taking out her Pokedex. "Kecleon, the Color Swap Pokemon. Kecleon is able to bend into its surroundings by changing the color of its body. However, the zigzag pattern on its stomach stays the same."
Professor Elm and Daisy Oak observed it. "A Kecleon, quite fantasizing indeed as Professor Oak would say."
"Yes, to think it would be able to blend in with its surroundings but its pattern remains the same."
Conway smiled proudly. "Yes, but, regardless it would still be hard to spot if hiding through tall grass."
"I believe you have a point for once," Paul whispered.
"I almost forgot, Thorh come out!" Daisy threw her only Pokeball in the air and out came the Sumo Pokemon. "Throh!"
"Wow, you got a Unova Pokemon." Professor Elm said with a surprised look and took out his Pokeball. "Now for my Pokemon, Corsola!"
"Corsola...!" The Coral Pokemon said with a smile.
Conway crouched down in front of it. "A Corsola...a Pokemon that lives in the Johto Region. Plus, people make glass items out of their coral." He then looked at the ocean.
Paul was watching the ocean's surface splash the dock gently. There was a peaceful atmosphere in the air too. "I never knew the air could feel so nice." He recalled the days he traveled in the Sinnoh Region and never got the chance to experience the things within nature. On a small port was a mysterious lady with pink hair. "Who is that?" He squinted his eyes as the woman looked at him for a second and a Gastly took the woman's place.
"How about we have a battle here," Conway suggested. "Three-on-three, best out of two wins, what do you say Paul?
Paul looked at the nerd trainer for a minute and grinned. "Very well."
The two got in their spots while others stood on the sidelines with their Pokemon.
"Heracross, you're up first!" Conway stated.
The Stag Beetle Pokemon went up front pumping its arms. "Heracross!"
"Scyther, stand by for battle!"
"Scyther-Sy!" The Mantis Pokemon said.
"A battle between two Bug Pokemon! I reckon this battle will be a fierce one!" Elm stated excitedly.
"Heracross, use Horn Attack!" Conway commanded.
"Hera!" The Beetle Pokemon flew toward the Mantis Pokemon pointing its horn.
"Scyther Agility!" Paul commanded.
Heracross was just about near its opponent when the Mantis Pokemon vanished instantly. "Uh oh..." Conway muttered.
"Now use Air Slash!" Scyther's scythes glowed light blue and fired multiple light-blue, glowing energy blades from its scythes at the opponent.
"Double Team!" Conway commanded calmly as his beetle Pokemon created about five illusions of itself.
The multiple energy blades went through about three fake ones leaving two left. "Oh no..." Paul muttered calmly as well.
"Now Stone Edge!" The last fake Heracross disappeared and the real one launched countless stone edges at the Mantis Pokemon.
"Quicky dodge it using Agility again!" Paul quickly commanded.
Scyther was able to dodge each stone edge, however, Conway seemed to expect this. "I figured he'd do that...now change the direction of the Stone Edge!"
Paul was surprised as the Stone Edge was changed and was coming behind Scyther.
"Quicky use Double Team!" Scyther quickly created illusions of itself plus was able to use the fake ones to dodge the Stone Edge.
"Now Aerial Ace!" Scyther was surrounded by white streaks of energy and flew toward its opponent.
"Two can play that game!" Conway declared. "Heracross use Aerial Ace too!"
The Stag Beetle pokemon's horn glowed white with outlined light blue glow by white.
The two Pokemon soon slammed into their attacks at each other neither side backing down.
"Heracross use Shadow Claw!" Everyone gasped at Conway's command.
Scyther was unable to move away and was struck by a black aura on its claws and swiped the Mantis Pokemon in the shoulder sending it flying away. "Oh no!"
"Wow, Conway wanted Paul's Sycther to come in close and wait for the moment to strike back," Daisy commented.
"That's Paul's style, who knew Conway would use it to his advantage," Hilda added quite impressed.
Conway smirked. "I recall your strategy was to wait for the right moment to strike, I decided to use it against you."
Paul narrowed his eyes, he figured his style would be used against him but it had to be Conway out of people. Although he had to admit it would be predictable, he knew it was smarter than that. "I admit you got me, but, we're far from finished, Sycther fly up!"
Despite the damage it took the Mantis Pokemon was rearing to go. "Scyther-Sy!"
"Use Aerial Ace once more!"
"Heracross use Megahorn!" The Beetle Pokemon's horn glowed green with multiple shades of yellow and rammed toward its opponent.
The two Pokemon ram into each other trying to push each other back only this Conway was ready. "Shadow-Claw again!" Pulling back its left arm and its small white pincers were covered in a black aura.
"Nice try..." Paul muttered. "Double Team..."
Just as Heracross's move made its mark it destroyed a fake Scyther. "Ah!" Conway gasped along with Heracross.
"Now use Air Slash!" Scyther fired multiple light-blue glowing energy blades.
Heracross turned to see Scyther and was unable to react in time as it took multiple damages from the glowing energy blades and was sent flying on its back hard creating a small dirt cloud from the fall. "Heracross!" Conway yelled with shock.
After the small cloud of dirt was gone with the wind, there was Heracross lying on its back with dizzy eyes.
"Heracross is unable to battle! Scyther wins!" Daisy announced.
"Heracross return now," Conway recalled his Pokemon to its Pokeball and smiled. "You did great, now take a good rest."
"Scyther, a job well done," Paul said without smiling.
Scyther nodded with a small smile.
"Time for the next round, Lickillicky go!" Conway declared.
Lickillicky stuck out its tongue getting in the battle.
"Sawk, stand by for battle!"
Sawk ran in the center pumping its arms ready to do battle.
"Second round begins!" Daisy announced.
"Lick attack!" Conway commanded.
"Sawk, dodge it!"
But, before the Karate Pokemon could even move, the Lick Pokemon's tongue was already in range licking over its opponent's body feeling utterly defenseless as the slimy tongue slobbered over its body.
"Talk about over licking!" Hilda cringed.
"Bulba! Samurott! Eee! Vul!" Bulbasaur, Samurotte, Eevee, and Vulpix shared their trainer's reaction.
"Throh!" The Jutsu Pokmeon was in awe seeing its rival getting licked so much.
Sawk felt its body cringe awkwardly like it was slobbered like an oversized lollipop.
"Bulk Up!" Paul commanded.
Despite how much the Karate Pokemon was slobbered, it pumped its entire body and glowed dark red pumping its muscles.
"Raising it's Attack and Defense, good thinking," Conway praised. "But, I have a plan in motion!" He pushed his glasses. "Lickiklicky, use Work Up!"
Lickilick's body glowed red. "Conway is raising Lickilick's Attack and Special Attack power!" Hilda exclaimed.
"I wonder if Lickilick knows any special attacks," Professor Elm wondered. "Although, I would imagine it does."
"Thunderbolt!" The Lick Pokemon gathered electricity and launched at the Karate Pokemon.
Sawk was struck with a high bolt of electricity. "Oh no!" Paul yelled with slightly wide eyes.
"Sawk is surely to take a lot more damage since Conway raised Lickilick's Special attack power," Hilda commented.
Once the attack was over, Sawk got on one knee. "Sa-wk...Sawk..." The Karate Pokemon groaned but stood back up.
"Sawk won't go down so easily," Paul remarked. "If this is all you got, then this battle won't be a challenge."
Conway chuckled a bit despite the smark remark. "Well, then, let's end this round."
"Fine by me! Sawk use Brick Break!"
"Use Brick Break too!"
Both Pokemon raised their left hands and slammed them at each other colliding their attacks.
"Good job..." Conway thought with a smirk.
"Use Lick!"
Everyone gasped again even Paul as Sawk was licked right in the face about three times stunning the Karate Pokemon as it felt dizzy.
"Time to finish this up! Use Retaliate!" Conway commanded his glasses glowing.
Hilda gasped recognizing the move that was just called out by Conway.
Lickilicky delivered a powerful tackle with its entire body and slammed itself against Sawk sending it rolling across until it landed on its back creating a dust cloud around it where it stopped.
Once the dust cloud cleared, Sawk was shown on its back and its head was lying on its left cheek with dizzy eyes.
"Sawk is unable to battle! Lickilicky is the winner!" Daisy announced.
Paul was stunned by how powerful that move was. "What kind of move is that?"
"Retaliate is a move that deals 70 percent damage, however, if the Pokemon that uses the move had a team member that fainted in the previous turn, then its attack doubles," Hilda explained.
Paul was lost for words but was impressed. "I admit you got me there."
Conway chuckled. "A praise from the trainer that was cold and collected back in the Sinnoh Region. I'd never thought I'd see the day." The Lick Pokemon approached him. "Lickilicky, you did very well." In return, his Pokemon licked his face causing him to cringe. "Hey, don't lick me!"
Hilda and her Pokemon chuckled awkwardly. "Well, guess we know how Sawk felt."
"Now we go to round three," Conway stated. "Kecleon, you're up!" The color swap Pokemon nodded and went to the center.
"Beldum, stand by!"
"Is that wise?" Hilda asked nervously.
"Using a Pokemon can use the same attack, what do you hope to gain," Conway questioned adjusting his glasses.
"I want to test Beldum for a while when it's ready to fight in a battle that I'll have against another Battle Frontier Brain," Paul replied.
"I see...well, let's do this," Conway said accepting the answer.
"Round three begins...now!" Daisy announced.
"Beldum Take Down!" Paul commanded.
The metal arm POkemon charged at its opponent at very high speed leaving orange streaks coming from the end of its body.
"Kecleon use Psybeam!" Conway commanded.
The Color Swap Pokemon's stripe glowed multicolored and it released a multicolored beam from its mouth.
Beldum was hit from the beam but it kept pressing through the attack without being pushed back. "No way, it's not stopping!" Conway exclaimed with jaw-dropping.
Kecleon was slammed in the face by Beldum causing it to take a few steps while holding its face in pain.
Beldum floated back as it felt the slight recoil damage. "That move causes recoil damage but it'll just have to try to endure as it can." Paul thought.
"Kecleon use Psybeam on the ground as much as you can!" Kecleon fired another multicolored beam creating a large dirt cloud. "Now disappear within the cloud!"
"Oh no!" Paul yelled.
"Impressive, Conway knows the stripe on Kecleon's won't disappear, so he's using the dust for another hiding place for a while," Daisy stated.
Elm shared the same thought. "I have to admit this guy has clever strategies."
"Beldum sense where Kecleon is!" Paul commanded.
The Iron Ball Pokemon nodded back, closing its only eye, and listened carefully. It sensed faint presence coming from within the center of the dirt cloud.
"Kecleon Double Team!" Suddenly four Kecleon leaped out of the dirt cloud. "Now use Psybeam once more!"
The four Kecleon released four multicolored beams landing four hits on the Iron Ball Pokemon and sending it crashing into the ground. "Ah!" Paul and Hilda exclaimed in shock.
Charmander and Scyther gasped in shock at the trouble their teammate was in.
Beldum was in a crack in the ground looking injured as it struggled to get up. "Bel-d-dum..."
The dirt cloud cleared as the four Kecleons smiled confidently at their opponent. "Paul, I'm quite impressed that your Beldum is strong, but, a single Psybeam wouldn't be very effective plus since your Pokemon is a Steel and Psychic Type, the attack wasn't very damaging. However, considering I used Kecleon to use four Psybeams it might done more damage than a single one."
"He's right, another hit like that then it could be over for Paul," Daisy agreed.
"If only Beldum knew other attacks during its first stage evolution things would be different," Hilda thought worriedly about her friend's situation.
"Let's end this! Kecleon unleashed a Flamethrower attack!" The four Kecleos released a red-orange scream of fire from each of their mouths.
"Beldum use Take Down to jet yourself out of there!" Paul commanded.
The Iron Ball Pokemon released its orange streak from the end of its body and was able to get out of the way just as the stream of flames landed where it was. "No way!" Conway exclaimed though he was partly impressed.
"Beldum...show them your power this time!" Paul's call awakened something inside Beldum and it was enveloped in a white glow of light.
"What is wrong with..." Hilda began to ask until realization hit her.
"That's right, Beldum is beginning to evolve..." Conway whispered.
"Meta!" It was now fully evolved Metang.
"Wow, a Metang!" Daisy cried excitedly.
Hilda took out her Pokedex and scanned the newly steel Pokemon. "Metang, the Iron Claw Pokemon. Metang is the evolved form of Beldum. Its highly developed intellect and strong magnetic force allow it to create powerful psychic energy."
Paul was astonished but more he was when his Elekid evolved in Electabuzz. "So, it evolved to get to its second evolved form. Well, let's what moves you have now." Paul scanned the Iron Claw Pokemon with his Pokedex.
"Never mind the evolving, Kecleon uses Flamethrower once more!" Conway commanded.
The four Kecleons stood next to each other and released four streams of red-orange flames once more.
"Use Agility!" Paul commanded.
With its new speed attack, it was able to evade the fire attacks.
"Now use Confusion only sent through the dock area!" Metang gathered it's psychic energy released a wave of it throughout the dock area.
Each Kecleon was sent flying, the fake ones vanished while the real was hit.
"Kecleon no!" Conway yelled with shock as he looked at his new Pokemon.
"Finish it with Take Down!" Paul commanded.
Metang twists around its arms and the claws pointed bhined it. It flew forward releasing orange streaks of energy from its hands and tackled the Color Swap Pokemon with great force sending it crashing on the dock's concrete ground.
"Kec-leon..." The Color Swap Pokemon said weakly with dizzy eyes meaning it was knocked out for good.
"Kecleon is unable to battle! Metang is the winner so the victory goes to Paul!" Daisy announced.
Paul let out a small chuckle. "Heh...a job well done Metang." The Iron Claw Pokemon turned around and nodded with a happy expression.
Conway chuckled softly as he picked up Kecleon in his arms. "Kecleon, you did a good job, take a good rest." He returned his new Pokemon to its Pokeball.
Charmander and Scyther went over to their newly evolved teammate to congratulate them.
Paul saw his Pokemon chat and was approached by Conway. "Hey, Paul. I must admit that I lost but I gave it my best. I thought my calculations were correct, but, it seems I should've strategist better." Paul looked at him for a moment and smiled a little. "It was a great battle."
The super nerd trainer had a smirk on his face fixing his glasses. "Well, I look forward to battling you again someday."
The citizens clapped at the battle. "Wow, those trainers are amazing!"
"Yeah, I hope I get to battle them someday!"
"Looks like Paul and Conway are celebrities now," Hilda joked.
"That's for sure," Daisy giggled.
Later, the gang went to the shrine on the cliff side where an old man stood before the crowd. "Listen to celebrate the Summer End's Festival! We shall display the shrine of Maid's greatest treasure! For 2000 years this painting has hung within the shrine of the maiden. Once each year is it removed from the shrine display during this festival!" The old man placed his hand on the sheet that covered the painting. "As I unveil this painting please gaze with!" He removed the sheet and tossed it in the air.
Everyone in the crowd was in awe at the painting but who was in it made a few of the boy's faces flush.
Conway pushed his glasses back. "Such beauty..."
Professor Elm was impressed by such a young woman. "Wow, she must've been quite the woman back in her days."
Daisy Oak had a question. "Excuse me, sir, do you know the backstory of the lady in the painting?"
"Yes, the woman you see perished over 2000 years ago." The old man explained. "She was in love with a brave and handsome young man, but he sailed away to fight in a war."
"That's a long time," Hilda thought.
"Her words were that she would wait for him forever until he returned!" The old man continued. "Days turned into months hoping to see his ship on the horizon, but her true love never returned still she waited and waited never moving from the spot until finally her body was turned into stone just as the cliff she stood on."
Hilda felt like crying but she held it in.
In the crowd was an old mysterious woman. "To think the festival would continue after all these years. I wonder if Ash and his friends are around. No, I would've seen them before."
"Anyway, if all of you want to visit the peak where the stone-like cliff of the maiden it's not far from this shrine." The old man continued.
A short time later.
Paul's group gazed upon the stone cliff that resembled the maiden from the painting.
Professor Elm was quite intrigued. "How interesting, this is the exact spot where the girl stood for so many years yet the surroundings are gone while that very spot is left untouched. Not even a crack or signs of that cliff falling apart."
Daisy Oak was just as intrigued as the Johto professor. "Fantasizing as my grandfather would say."
Conway fixed his glasses. "I admit her beauty is more captivated than I heard of its too bad that fate had to be cruel."
Hilda had to agree. "Yes, she was waiting for so long and never to see her true love again until her time ended." Eevee nodded looking a bit sad for the human maid.
Paul had his arms crossed. "Still, she must've had such spirit to stay until the person she was hoping to see again. I suppose it takes guts to remain where you are to wait for a person." He then noticed the others were giving him odd looks "Why are you guys staring at me like that?"
Conway was the first to speak with a soft chuckle. "I didn't expect to hear that from you considering you never struck me as the romantic type."
"I'm not into romance, I was just speaking my own opinion," Paul scoffed turning his head away.
"Even so, you make a good point, Paul," Daisy said though the purple-haired trainer didn't look in her direction. "This maiden must've truly loved this young man and hoped he would return only for fate to be cruel yet she waited for so many decades until her time came."
Hilda giggled. "Yeah, who knew Paul could say something so meaningful." Paul kept his face turned away looking flustered which was unlike him.
"Anyway, let's head to the Pokemon Center for a good rest," Daisy suggested as she turned around but stopped as she saw an old woman. "Oh, ma'am, I didn't notice you behind me."
The small old woman didn't react but kept her composure. "Good thing your legs know how to stop quickly otherwise you would've fallen over me."
Conway was a little creeped out by the old woman's appearance. "She's clearly old not to mention so small."
Paul didn't seem phased.
"Umm...is there something you need ma'am?" Hilda asked politely trying not to sound scared.
"Well, a polite little girl, haven't seen those in a while," The old woman said with a snarky tone. "Well, first off, I can see that you guys put on quite the Pokemon battle, I'd never seen that kind of spirit in centuries even when I was a girl."
"What was Pokemon battles boring or something?" Paul asked.
The old woman gave the purple-haired trainer a cold stare for a minute until she spoke. "Not quite, but, 2000 years ago, battles were intense. Pokemon did battle alongside warriors and kept doing so until the great wars were finally over."
"Let me guess, was one of these wars involved the maiden's true love?" Daisy guessed.
"That's correct and as you know, her true love never returned but the maiden never left until her time came." The old woman replied.
"Do you think the maiden's true love is a spirit or ghost too?" Conway questioned fixing his glasses as the others looked at him including the old woman. "I'm not into this ghost or hauntings, but, from what I heard the ghost of a maiden has haunted the peak for centuries so I would imagine her true love's spirit wouldn't be able to rest either since he wasn't able to reunite with the maiden."
There was silence in the air which lasted almost like forever until a smirk took place on the old woman's face. "What you say is just a theory, but, it does make some sense in a way."
"If by a miracle the maiden's spirit was reunited with the spirit of her true love, would they be able to rest in peace?" Hilda asked hopefully.
The small old woman was silent once more until she found her voice. "I suppose so, but, that only happens in stories. Sadly, I guess the two won't be reunited." She then turned away and began to walk away. "However, perhaps a little faith could help." A mist began to appear in the peak until everything was covered that the trainers couldn't see a thing.
"Where'd this fog come from?" Professor Elm questioned squinting his eyes through the thick fog.
Paul didn't know why but he began to wonder more about the old woman. "Is she the Gastly that has the ability to shape-shift?"
The fog cleared away and the old woman was gone.
"Where'd that old woman go?" Paul asked looking around the spot where she was just now.
"It was like she vanished into thin air." Conway theorized fixing his glasses.
"I think it's time we get some rest," Daisy said yawning a little.
"Yeah, I suggest we should get some rest," Hilda agreed.
Just as they were leaving, Professor Elm caught a glimpse of some floating in the air in a flash. He squinted his eyes at what he saw and saw it disappear behind a few rocks at the bottom of the peak cliff. He looked from the railing. "What was that?"
Below the rocks was a small boat which was sinking due to the waves. "My...darling...maid...where...are...you...I came...here..." A male voice called. "Where are you!?" A spirit mass came floating directly at Johto professor and was knocked back on the ground and was unconscious.
After a few seconds, Professor Elm stood back up and his eyes glowed purple. "I need to find my love..." He spoke in a ghostly male tone and walked away.
Professor Elm's only Pokeball was on the ground.
At the beach was the old rusty pokeball which seemingly opened and out came a Misdreavus. "Need to find...the warrior hero..." It spoke in a female voice.
At the Pokemon Center.
Paul was just done with his shower. "That crowd was noisy." He muttered feeling utterly embarrassed.
Conway was sitting on his bed cleaning his glasses and humming to himself. He then noticed someone was missing. "Hm, where is Professor Elm, I thought he said he was just staying out for a few minutes." He then looked at the clock on the nearby dresser. "It's almost 9 o'clock too."
Hilda and Daisy Oak were just done with their bath. "Wow, such a nice warm bath."
"Yeah, I feel refreshed."
They were soon walking down the hallway to their rooms until Conway approached them. "Hilda, Daisy, we got a problem. I believe that Professor Elm hasn't returned, and it's already past curfew."
Daisy looked at her watch. "You're right, but, it's no use, the Pokemon Center is closed for the night so we'll just have to get up in the morning and hope that he found a comfortable place to rest for the night."
Hilda turned her head and saw past through the door in a second. Not wasting a minute, she ran down toward the door getting her friends to notice. "Hilda, where are you going?"
Paul and his group arrive at Maiden's Peak meeting Professor Elm and reuniting with Conway. After a battle, the gang learns of the story of the maiden who perished after waiting for so many years for her true love. Professor Elma is attacked by an unseen spirit while the old woman returns.
How is the Misdreavus that was inside the Pokeball able to talk and is it connected to the male spirit and more importantly has the talking Gastly returned too, find out next time.
