Sorry to keep you all waiting, I don't have any excuse with my absence because I have to focus on online college, and I need to focus on real life (searching for a job and practicing driving license test), plus rp with my friends. This will be a light hearted chapter. With that being said, enjoy the story~!

Chapter 3

Mitsuki and Sakuya were sitting under a cherry blossom tree, while waiting for Fenrir to find them with the drinks. Mitsuki happily opened her bento box to show her lunch to Sakuya, she peered at it and beamed, "As always, your cooking never amazes me." She commented on her best friend's cooking. Mitsuki smiled back, "Your aunt made lunch for you too." She commented before Sakuya opened her bento box and looked at it, her lunch was rice with umeboshi on top, sliced tonkatsu with a small bottle of tonkatsu sauce, and salad with pickled cucumber. Sakuya smugged, "I helped her too, Uncle Ryō and Takeru needed the lunch." She corrected her, like Mitsuki she can cook as her aunt appreciated her help. The wolf hanyō smiled and picked up her ohashi, and at the same time, she and Sakuya clapped their hands together, "Itadakimasu!" They said all together and started eating their lunch with their ohashi. Mitsuki can sense Fenrir's presence and his scent from the corner, she lowered her ohashi and smiled with eyes closed. "Kiryū-san, how long are you standing in the corner?" She called him out. Sakuya nearly choked her rice before she coughed hoarsely.

Fenrir stepped out of the corner and looked at two girls, his face was surprised. He didn't expect her to detect him easily as he approached them, handing Sakuya Qoo Orange Juice. She quickly grabbed it and unscrewed the cap, then thirsty drank the quarter amount to clear her airway. Fenrir and Mitsuki looked at her in concern, he looked at Mitsuki, while she patted her friend's back. "Is she okay?" He asked. "She is going to be alright after she drinks, I guess I said earlier, really caught her off guard." She replied as Sakuya cleared her throat and screwed the pet bottle cap. Fenrir softens his eyes and looks at Sakuya. However, she gave him a weak grin and waved it off. "I'm alright." She said to assure him that she's alright. Girls handed him a few coins to pay him back for buying the drinks. Fenrir let out a small smile and took it despite not wanting them to do that, he looked at Mitsuki very "curious", but Sakuya spoke out. "Mitsuki can sense supernatural presence, it's her sixth sense she had because of her spiritual power. It may sound weird, but she can easily smell like the actual wolf." She talked about Mitsuki's abilities. Mitsuki shyly looked down and played with her hair. Fenrir looked at Sakuya completely "shocked", then he looked at her. "Damn, that explains why you know I was at the corner." He said as he was impressed. Mitsuki was being bashful from his praise. "I have had that gift ever since I was born. Ō-kannushi-dono told me it's a very special thing I have after my mother left me, so I became a miko because I keep seeing things that no one else can't." She explains about her gift she had, and her job. Now Fenrir's curiosity became real. "I heard from Yosuke about his friend raising you. Now it's my first time ever you never called Taiga father. Wasn't he your foster dad?" He asked her about Taiga, but wondered why she never called Taiga "father" before he handed her a strawberry calpico pet bottle. Mitsuki gladly took the pet bottle and thanked him, then she thought of it, she never called him "father" or "dad". Taiga was just her legal guardian, and he was like a father figure. She only just shrugged her shoulders a little. "He's my legal guardian actually. I always called him Ō-kannushi-dono out of habit, so it stuck. I don't call him father because he didn't think of himself as a father role, but he did try his best to be a better father-like figure. I guess there was another reason why he didn't feel ready because my mother gave me up as a newborn to him and begged him to keep me safe before she disappeared." She corrected him, then explained why she always called him "Ō-kannushi-dono". Fenrir lets out a deep hum and sits down around them, two girls continue to eat lunch as he twists the aquarius pet bottle cap open and drinks it. Mitsuki and Sakuya noticed he hadn't brought his lunch, so they were concerned. His golden animal slit eyes caught their glance, he lowered his drink. "What?" "Where the hell is your lunch?" Sakuya asked him. Fenrir raised his eyebrow and he began to snicker. "I already ate in the classroom, and I was reading an algebra textbook. I usually ignored all of the talking in the hallway, until I heard you two, Oshiro, and the school council president. After that… you know the rest." He replied that he already ate his lunch, and was reading an algebra textbook. Mitsuki and Sakuya looked at each other as they were eating, they felt bad for disrupting his study for algebra. Sakuya swallowed her food, and looked at him in a pitiful look. "We are sorry about disturbing your study Kiryū." She apologized, but Fenrir waved it off. "Call me Fenrir, Kiryū is my foster father's name. No need to apologize, I was just studying ahead because I need to balance between kendo club and homework assignment." He replied to insist to call him by his first name, and he needs to balance his studies and kendo club. Girls raised their eyelids. "You are joining the Kendo club?" Mitsuki asked him. "Yeah, back at that hellish orphanage, I used to swing around the stick and pretend it was a sword. I was a real badass kid to the whole facility because I beat both kids and staff up with my physical force or the thick stick. Because of that and found out I am not fully human, they either stay the fuck away from me or fucking terrified of me." He said as he smirked with a chuckle like he had a good memory. Mitsuki's pale skin became way paler, while Sakuya laughed and she slapped Mitsuki's back. "Mitsuki is joining Kyudo Club for her aiming skills, and I am joining Judo Club to knock their asses down!" She declared as Mitsuki gave her best friend a pout. Fenrir looked at her after he dropped his smirk. "Oh man, they shouldn't mess with the hybrid's badass strength!" She shouts as she laughs so hard. Mitsuki and Fenrir looked at her, only Fenrir chuckled. Mitsuki sighed sadly with her ears drooping down. "Please don't hurt your teammates." She pleaded not to hurt others. Fenrir glanced his predator's golden eyes at her, he grinned to show his fangs. "Relax, I was just a kid with a bad temper tantrum. I promise I won't hurt others." He replied. "Oh Mitsuki, you have no fucking idea what I can do." He thought to himself. Mitsuki stares at him, but he has a point, he's no longer a child, so maybe he's grown up and no longer has a temper tantrum. She gave him a warm smile that he promised he wouldn't harm others. "I guess I shouldn't be worried right now. You are already grown up, you don't seem to lose your temper easily." She commented that he was already grown up and unscrewed the calpico strawberry pet bottle and slowly sipped it. Sakuya slowly stops laughing and wipes her fake tears out of her eyes. "So about that white wolf sighting, do you two think it's that legendary wolf Emperor? This morning my uncle said it might be possible, but he died fifteen years ago." She asks them about the possibility white wolf may be Emperor Kiba. Mitsuki lowered her pet bottle, then furrowed her eyebrow to think of it. It's strange, wolf daiyokai died twelve days after she was born and her biological mother left her at Yamakawa Shrine. Sakuya was born a month before his death. They both know he had a son, but no one has seen him. Fenrir shrugged his shoulders. "Who knows, I have seen it. But I don't think it's him, neither is his son. Although, based on the muscles in his legs, I think it's a he." He said nonchalantly. Girls looked at him, maybe Fenrir was right, it couldn't be either of them. He gave them a stern frown. "But seriously, you two need to stay at home at night. Especially the forest, stay the hell out of it. I hate to see you two get hurt." He warns them for their own safety. Mitsuki and Sakuya were confused, but seemed to appreciate his concern for them. Sakuya raised her right eyebrow. "Why? Is it because of what you saw last night?" She asked him. Fenrir nodded, then he looked at Mitsuki. She tilted her head slightly. "What is it?" "You live in the Shrine with the head priest, right?" He asked her. "Yes, but there is a deep forest behind it. Why?" She confirmed, not understanding why he asked her that. "Good, but I have to make sure she will not leave the shrine property." He thought to himself. He softened his predator's eyes, he looked at her white wolf ears. His left hand reaches over to her right ears to rub it softly. Mitsuki's face immediately went red as she startled. "KYAAA!" She cried and swiped her hand against his arm, her spiritual power blasted his arm. Sakuya only just watches, not amused by him as she finishes her lunch. He yelped and pulled his arm away. He glared at her and rubbed his arm. "Jesus fucking Christ Mitsuki, what the hell!?" He hissed angrily, he pulled his blazer and sleeves up to check his left arm. His very pale white skin has slightly red marks. Mitsuki covered her white wolf ears, her face was redder. "I am okay with petting or patting my head, but my ears are sensitive to rubbing it!" She cried as she flustered. Fenrir looked at her for a while after her response, he looked at his arm where she slapped him. Mitsuki lowered her hands away from her ears and looked at his arm, and she suddenly felt guilty for hurting him, despite his arm slowly healing itself. "I'm so sorry for slapping your arm with my spiritual power." She apologized to him. Fenrir looked at her again, his anger slowly went to his grin to chuckle, then roar to laughter. Mitsuki and Sakuya looked at him like he had grown two heads. "My apologies for laughing and I accept your apology, but Mitsuki… you should have seen your face, you look damn priceless when you are flustered red! Your reaction is damn cute" He accepted his apology and found her reaction priceless and cute, his laughter slowly went to chuckle. Sakuya looked at Mitsuki's face carefully, she snickered at her best friend. "He's right, your face is red." She commented. Mitsuki looked at her as she whined. "Please stop!" She protested, she felt really embarrassed. "I must admit, your ears feel fuzzy and soft. You must keep it soft with shampoo and conditioner." He noted her ear's texture after he stopped chuckling. Mitsuki looked at him, then gave him a soft smile as her ears went down. "Umm, thank you so much Fenrir-san. I always wash it with my hair." She thanked him. Sakuya looked at him as she put her bento box back. "Why the hell are you asking her about the Shrine?" She asked him, back to the topic earlier. Mitsuki remembered and looked at him curiously. Fenrir dropped his smile and thought carefully how to respond to them, then looked at Mitsuki sternly in his eyes. "Because after I saved Yosuke, white wolf must've known I am half human from Romania and I fought his ass off before he took off, I guess he is damn smart. If he finds out about her and her wolf hanyō trait, there might be a higher chance he might attack her. Just to be safer for her, I have a theory that the shrine ground will protect her and Taiga, like the church's holy ground. Any evil cannot attack her and her legal guardian, unless they are outside of the shrine ground." He explained to Sakuya, she hummed and had no idea what he meant about the church. Mitsuki finished her lunch and, thanking her meal with her hands clasped together, she lowered her hands. "A church?" "Yeah, back in Romania, it is a very religious country. Mostly Romanian Orthodox Christians, because back in the old days there were some witch hunts for those who practice dark magic or associating with demons from hell. There are some christians from this modern age." He confirmed and he looked up at the blue sky, his eyes looking sad. Mitsuki and Sakuya noticed his eyes were sad, they looked at each other. Could that mean Romanian Orthodox Christians treated Fenrir like demons? Sakuya looked at Fenrir. "Hey, I don't want to offend you, but… Were you mistreated back in Romania besides the orphanage ?" She asked him out of curiosity, Mitsuki gave her a disapproving look. Fenrir looked at her and widened his eyes, then he furrowed his eyebrow to remember back in Romania. His memory echoed of his life of woman screaming and crying, and he used to be called devil child and spawn from hell, worse he has been called demon. He lowered his head as his pure white bang shadowed his eyes. "Yeah, most of the time, I have been called devil child, son of the devil, demon, and a bunch of bullshits. Like I said, Romania is very religious, they believe anyone who isn't associated with God is the antichrist or bunch of bullcrap. To be honest, I am hell of glad to leave that hellish hometown, but I might miss my life in Romania, especially their culture." He admitted, but he might miss his home country. Mitsuki immediately felt sorry for him, Sakuya only shook her head in disbelief. Mitsuki placed her hand on his shoulder, he lifted his head and turned his head to look at her in surprise. His tense muscles seem to relax from her touch. "I am so sorry to hear that, you have been suffering so much." She said sadly. Fenrir exhaled through his nostril. "It is all the past and no need to feel sorry for me, but Yosuke understands the hell I have been through. He promised me that I will have a better life in Kyoto." He replied as Mitsuki pulled her hand away from his shoulder. She gave him a warm smile.

"I was curious from what I overheard earlier, but what the hell is up with Oshiro's attitude towards you two?" He asks two girls about Erika's hostilities. Sakuya scowled and her hand rested on her jaw as he sipped aquarius pet bottle, Mitsuki looked down on her lap. "That stupid brat believes she's better than everyone, she is an obnoxious brat because her dad is the director of the police force my uncle worked for. I used to beat the crap out of her and got suspended, until I found out about her dad. She has been threatening me that she will make her dad fire my uncle, so I backed off for Uncle Ryō's sake. She was afraid of me because I am a tough girl and I can easily take down those bullies twice my size. She hated Mitsuki the most because she is jealous of her curvaceous figure, secondly she is more beautiful than herself, and lastly she bullied her since elementary school. However, Mitsuki had nothing against her and mostly tried to avoid her to stay out of trouble. If she did, she's trying to be nice to that bitch." Sakuya explains about her negative relationship with Erika, then jabbed her thumb at Mitsuki about Erika's hostile relationship with her. Mitsuki lifted her head towards Sakuya, then Fenrir. He slightly widened his eyelids, he gave himself a wolfish smirk. "Well thank god, I didn't take her offer and meet her friends. I am not damn interested in her and her groups, I think she is trying to make me popular or use me to make her become more popular." He said. Sakuya chuckled with a grin. "I can picture her face, if she learns you prefer to hang out with us instead." She said to picture Erika's let out of her stream. Even Mitsuki felt sorry for Erika, but she smiled softly and giggled that she deserved it. Fenrir finds those two ladies unique and fun to hang out with.

Yosuke wasn't happy with Fenrir's response, he was waiting for his reply, but it took him like ten minutes to realize he must've turned on Do Not Disturb to annoy him. He returned to the temple, his colleagues were relieved and welcomed their master back. He smiled warmly and sent them to clean the temple, while he prepared for the funeral arrangements. He entered his master bedroom, but his brown eyes trailed off to the photo frame facing down on the small table in the corner. He dropped his smile as he walked towards it and his hand reached the small table, then he reached over to pick up the photo frame. It was an old photo of young Taiga, young Yosuke, and a very young woman dressed in shrine maiden all smiling. Yosuke stared at the photo sadly, then he placed it back down. He walked towards the small table with a pile of papers and a scroll. He sat down with his legs under his thigh on the pillow, then he began to work. He couldn't think about what Fenrir was planning, so he looked at the window to think of his foster son. "Maybe he needs some time before taking a photo of her. I will give him some time." He thought to himself from the message earlier, then he resumed working on writing on the paper.

"This Fenrir is quite something." Said Sakuya to Mitsuki as she grilled the mackerel. Girls were in culinary class, yet Mitsuki's favorite subject as the teacher assigned them to cook mackerel with a partner. Thankfully for Mitsuki's culinary genius, she already decided what to make, Sakuya joined in to work together to cook. Mitsuki grinds the white radish, while keeping an eye on the pot for miso soup. "He is, but I do feel sorry for him from what happened to his life in Romania." Mitsuki replied sadly, while grinding the white radish. The students around them were scattered around for the ingredients or rarely messed up measurements. Sakuya looked sadly and flipped the mackerel, while Mitsuki finished grinding and set the grind white radish on each small plate. "That freaking sucks, Romanian Orthodox Christians and people from orphanages never liked him and he hated them because they all treated him like crap from his other half." She said and picked up the knife to start cutting the cucumber, Mitsuki silently agreed with her as she cut the tomato to one eighth. "I don't think we should jump to conclusions, we don't know anything about Christians. Although, he did tell us not to come out of the house at night for our sake." Said Mitsuki to think about his warning. Sakuya frowned and thought hard. "True, but… I still want to know about that beast." She said, leaving Mitsuki, after she put chopped tokyo negi in miso soup, in shock. "But Sakuya-chan, Fenrir-san said not to come out at night. We don't know if this white wolf is in fact dangerous." Mitsuki protested and reminded her Fenrir said earlier. Sakuya shrugged and served the fine grilled mackerel on each plate, Mitsuki served the rice in the bowl and miso soup after she turned off the stove. She smiled at her wolf hanyō friend. "I know, but why did it attack the yokai last night?" "Girls! More hand move, less-" The female culinary teacher called them out as girls turned towards middle aged women, but she stopped when she saw the plate completely finished. "Nevermind, but excellent job Tsukimori-san and Kokoromi-san." She complimented them with a soft smile, then left them to help her students.

Mitsuki and Sakuya looked at their culinary teacher, then each other as they grinned happily. Mitsuki heads to the sink to wash her hands. "I don't know, but usually daiyokai is mostly lesser yokai can't defeat it because it feared the daiyokai's power." She said from her knowledge of daiyokai and yokai's power, she dried her damp hand with a clean towel. Sakuya hummed and washed her hand, after Mitsuki scoots away. "I guess I have to wait until Uncle Ryō's press conference." She said to wait until Ryō's press conference. Mitsuki agreed and handed the towel to her tomboy best friend, however her mind went back to Fenrir. Her featureless silver blue eyes trailed off. "Umm Sakuya-chan…" "Yeah?" Sakuya looked at her best friend and as she noticed her face, she grinned. "What, thinking about that pretty boy?" She teased her. Mitsuki startled with her white wolf ears perked up as her cheeks went red and she began to fluster. "Wha-What?! I told you we only just met. Although, Fenrir-san might remind me of Yaotome Gaku-san, if his bangs brush aside, and match his handsome or model face." She declined the idea, yet Fenrir may have reminded her of Yaotome Gaku because he looks handsome and if his bangs were brushed aside. Sakuya begins to think of it with her tilting her head to compare Gaku to Fenrir. She can't help it, but he kinda does. "Now I can think of it, he might look like Yaotome. If we fix his hair and have him wear gray colored contact lenses, he will look exactly like Trigger leader." She noted, yet if they fix his appearance. Mitsuki smiled softly to think about giving Fenrir a little makeover, but she doesn't know if he will like it. Suddenly, they can hear some of their classmates gossiping about Fenrir, saying he is handsome and he should be a model. Mitsuki rolled her eyes, while Sakuya shook her head as she looked at her best friend. "Great, just damn great… sooner or later, Fenrir is going to have a fan club, that worries me. Those fangirls will be scarier if they find out he is hanging out with us. Maybe you will be harassed by them if they find out about your sense of smell and what he smells like." Said Sakuya to theorize all girls will form Fenrir's fan club, and it will be scary. Mitsuki suddenly became terrified of those fangirls, especially if they find out what he smells like.

At the gymnasium, the gym coach was observing his students dressed in from Room 1-A playing basketball, however he and male classmates were impressed by Fenrir's dribbles and passing the basketball to his teammates, and shot at the loop. Every student wore navy blue tracksuits, their jackets had the school logo on the left side of chest and back with the name Horikawa High School, loose tracksuit pants had navy blue with two white stripes on the outer sides, and ankle length white socks and either white or black sneakers. Female classmates looked at him in awe, yet they silently cheered for him. Fenrir kept his tracksuit open to show his loose white short sleeves shirt with navy blue outlines, so he can remove his tracksuit jacket to tie it around his waist. The coach blew his whistle. "Alright, take a fifteen minute break!" He barked and he looked at Fenrir. "Kiryū-san, a word." He called out his name. Fenrir looked at his gym coach before he picked up the clean towel to wipe his face. He walked towards the coach. "What is it, Maeda-sensei?" He asked Coach Maeda. He looked at the Romanian Exchange Student with a proud smile. "Have you joined any club?" He asked him, Fenrir raised his eyebrow. However, he let out his lopsided smile. "I did join one club." He replied as the coach looked at him hopefully. "It's Kendo Club. I can join other sports clubs because I played other sports, but I can't do it unfairly. Due to my other half, my superhuman conditions will be unfair to other humans." He replied on which club he's joining. Coach Maeda thought of it, then nodded as he understood his situation. "I see, it is unfair for other schools facing you. However, I could ask another coach or manager from another sports club to be your assistant to their player." He suggested for Fenrir to be assistants to other sports clubs. Fenrir stared at the coach for a while, then thought of it. He remembered Sakuya said she will join the Judo Club, his thoughts made him think back from Yosuke's information about her this morning.

"All I know about Tsukimori-san is that she is the niece of the chief of police and always hangs out with Kokoromi-san. She still has PTSD, so don't even bring that subject up. Try to gain her trust first, then get closer to Kokoromi-san."

Fenrir was curious about Sakuya's PTSD and why she lived with her relatives, but he will give her some time. He looked at Coach Maeda and smiled. "Sure, but either me or yourself have to inform the kendo captain, coach, or manager first. I have to warn you, I may be good, but I will beat their asses if they mess up." He agreed, yet he warned he wouldn't be merciful to players. Coach Maeda frowned at Fenrir's face. "You may be a half breed, but don't even think about injuring the students." He warned him. Fenrir felt offended, but he let out a chuckle and waved it off. "Relax, I won't. I already promised one of my female friends not to hurt the players and my teammates." He replied that he kept Mitsuki's promise. Coach Maeda was slightly stunned that he made a promise to a single girl not to harm the students, but he smiled at him. "Whoever she is, she is lucky to keep your promise to her." He praised him for keeping the promise to the female student. Fenrir shrugged his shoulders as his slit eyes glanced over the upper window and his eyes dilated slightly to think of her. "If only you humans know who she is." He mumbled. "You said something?" Coach Maeda curiously asked him, Fenrir quickly refocused on his coach. "Nothing, I was talking to myself." He quickly replied. Coach Maeda looked at him strangely, he turned around and held the whistle close to his mouth. "I will inform both managers and coaches about you." He replied and he blew the whistle to tell the rest of Class 1-A students to get back to position. Fenrir's right palm reached up to his forehead and raked his messy bangs up. "Damn, that was close. I can't let anyone find out about Mitsuki, nor herself learning about her origin." He thought as he felt lucky that the coach didn't have superhuman hearing. He returned to the gym, however his female classmate approached him. "Umm Kiryū-san?" She said his name. Fenrir turned his head to his left, the girl with shoulder length black hair, now tied to lower pigtails, shyly approaching him. Fenrir raised his eyebrow at her. "Yes." He said to gain her acknowledgement. Her dark brown eyes glanced at the floor to fluster at his suave tone. "Can… Can you teach me umm… how to throw the basketball to the hoop?" She requested him to teach her. Fenrir's slit predator golden eyes were just staring at her like a real predator long and hard. His female classmate found his stare a bit unbearable, but he nodded. "Sure, I have nothing else to do." He replied before his small smile appeared. He and his female classmate were heading to practice shooting as he demonstrated the position.

The bell rang as the sign of the school ended and began the after school club. The students got up and said thanks for teaching and exited the classroom. Mitsuki and Sakuya are taking their opposite directions, yet they will meet at the entrance to walk home after the club ends. Coach Maeda for their gym class was okay, however Coach Maeda was impressed by Sakuya's physical activity, compared to Fenrir. Girls were astonished when he mentioned Fenrir, but said they only met when he asked if they knew him. Mitsuki is heading to the back of the Horikawa High School property, she peeked over the corner and saw a couple students dressed in short sleeve white kyudogi, navy blue hakama, and white tabi. Most females wore black leather chest protectors. She was getting nervous. What if they figured out she mastered archery or they wouldn't accept her to join the club? She quickly shook her head to drive her negative thoughts away, and took deep breaths. "Hello, are you here to join?" The male voice spoke out as Mitsuki startled with her ears perked up. She looked up, the one who spoke to her was a tall average height young boy fully dressed short sleeve white kyudogi, navy blue hakama, and white tabi. He has cute brown eyes, very short black hair, and masculine shape of his face. Mitsuki stared at him, then she looked down and fidgeting her thumbs she shyly stared at her thumbs. "Umm, y-yes." She said quietly. He smiled softly. "My name is Tsuji Yūto, I am a second year student." Yūto introduces himself as he bow respectfully. Mitsuki lifted her head and bowed back with a shy smile. "Nice to meet you. My name is Kokoromi Mitsuki. I am a first year student." She politely introduced herself back. Hearing her calling him senpai made him bashful and nervously chuckled. "You are quite a formal one." He compliments her. She stood up straight and shyly smiled. "My legal guardian taught me to be respectful to the elders and anyone older than my age. I thought I should call you senpai." She replied that Taiga taught her respect to anyone older than her. Yūto was curious about her legal guardian, but he smiled at her. "I don't mind, but let's not keep others and the captain waiting." He replied. She agreed and they both entered Kyudo Dojo. Yūto left her to talk to his friends, Mitsuki observed the dojo and door to the supply room, she walked towards the supply room and opened it. It had a pile of large yumis and yazatsu with stacks of ya. She walks towards yazatsu and softly touches hane, it feels soft like a real bird. Suddenly, her white wolf ears perked up as she could hear the footsteps coming closer and someone entered the supply room. "Oh, you must be a first year student with white ears. Manager told me about you." Said the female voice, Mitsuki turns around and sees a young girl fully dress in short sleeve white kyudogi with black muneate over her breast, navy blue hakama, and white tabi with slightly light black hair tied in a ponytail, a small hair frame reaching past her ear and her bang brush to her left. Mitsuki finds her very pretty, but she remembered her question. "Yes, that is me." She replied as she smiled. The female student smiled back. "I'm Nishimura Ugetsu, I am the Captain of the Kyudo Club. Nice to meet you." Ugetsu introduces herself as the captain as she bow to her. Mitsuki bowed back. "Nice to meet you too, my name is Kokoromi Mitsuki." She introduced herself back. Ugetsu lightly shook her head. "Just call me Captain. Manager told me you are a shrine maiden from Yamakawa Shrine, correct?" She corrected her, then asked if Mitsuki was the shrine maiden. Mitsuki nodded worriedly. "Yes, Ō-kannushi-dono allowed me to join the club, but I'm worried about interfering with my time schedule between Kyudo club and my duty." She confirmed. Ugetsu thoughted deeply and tapped her finger against her chin. "After this practice and introduction, you and I can talk to the manager and show your schedule. We can arrange it between the club and your job, however you must be in tournaments or training camp." She told her about her schedule between her club and her job. Mitsuki understood and smiled brightly. "Right." "Great, we are going to start the introduction, so please follow me." Ugetsu beamed and led the wolf hanyō to the dojo room. Mitsuki followed the captain and sat properly on the clean polish wooden floor. She looked around and saw five 1st year students, then she looked at eight 2nd and 3rd years students standing straight. Yūto looked at 1st year students newcomers. "While we are waiting for the manager and faculty advisor, our captain informs us that they will be here a bit late because they are organizing the paperwork. Let's start with an introduction, so let's start with our captain and vice captain." He said with a smile, then he looked at Ugetsu. She smiled brightly. "Thank you Tsuji. My name is Nishimura Ugetsu, I am the captain of the Kyudo club. Nice to meet you all." She introduced herself cheerfully. The male student with a shaggy dark brunette next to her chuckled, then he looked at 1st years. "I'm Michiya Inoue, the vice captain of this team. Nice to meet you." The vice captain name Inoue Michiya introduces himself. The first year students listen to the rest of the six seniors, until it's their turn to introduce themselves. When it was Mitsuki's turn, she stood up straight and shyly smiled. "Hello, my name is Kokoromi Mitsuki. Nice to meet you." She introduced herself, however one of the 2nd year students immediately lit up his face. "Wait, are you the shrine maiden wolf hanyō from Yamakawa Shrine?" He asked her. Mitsuki looked at him with her ears perked up, then looked away. "Yes." She meekly confirmed without hesitation. He looked at the captain in disapproval. "What the hell is she doing here?" He demanded his senpai. Ugetsu rolled her eyes and glared at her junior. "Let it go, the manager allowed her to join the club. However, it will be fun to wipe our opponents' faces when they find out she is a talented archery" She talked back. Mitsuki smiled softly to the captain, who in return smiled back. Suddenly, the door was open as the club members turned their attention to the door. "Sorry I am late, a lot of mess for paperwork." The female adult voice apologized. Mitsuki widens her silver blue featureless eyes, it's her culinary teacher. "Emiya-sensei?" She said her culinary teacher's name as the club looked at her out of curiosity. Ms. Emiya turned her attention towards the source and surprised her student from culinary class. "Ah! Kokoromi-san, I didn't know you were in the Kyudo Club." She said with a smile. One of the 1st year students starts to ask her. "She's your teacher?" He asked Mitsuki. She glanced at him. "Yes, from culinary class." She replied. "Okay, enough chit chat. Let's go over the rules and what we do in this club." Said Ms. Emiya as she clapped to gather her attention. Mitsuki and the rest of 1st years start to pay attention to Ms. Emiya and their seniors. Speaking of culinary class, Mitsuki made the mental note to ask Taiga what he wanted for dinner tonight and to go to the grocery market after the club.

Ryō and his four colleagues were fully prepared for the press conference, and the security guards opened the door for them. The rapid flashes of cameras, cameramen were filming for the news, the reporters and journalists were waiting for the chief of police and four colleagues to speak. They walked towards the chair with assigned seats, then they turned their bodies to ninety degrees, then bowed as a greeting and sat on the chair. Ryō started to speak. "Good afternoon everyone, and thank you for joining the press conference." He greeted everyone. "As you all heard this morning about last night's yokai attack, and mourning the loss of priests and monks because of the possession and results of them being slaughtered. My colleague and I interviewed survivors this morning about that night. They described the sight of a large white wolf, Kannushi suspected, from Temple Monk's claims as he, his yokai aura as powerful and dangerous." He spoke through the multiple mics with business expression and professional tone. "They aren't sure if that is legendary wolf daiyokai emperor's son or actual wolf daiyokai emperor himself." He added the possibility of the Wolf Daiyokai Emperor or his son. The reporters and journalists both recorded it from their phones or wrote it down, then they raised their hand. One of the colleagues lifted his hand at a young woman. "You haven't clarified about the cause of death of Wolf Daiyokai Emperor, so have you thought of reopening the case for his death and shrine maiden? I looked at the news from fifteen years ago, they were both slain by large claw marks and loss of blood." She asked, leaving Ryō and his colleagues stunned, so they all looked at each other. Ryō thought of looking into the case, but that case hasn't been solved and it's difficult to figure it out. Ryō mutters that he will look into the case. One of Ryō's female colleagues looked at the female reporter. "We will look into the case, and need cooperation with Kannushi Yamakawa and Temple Monk Kiryū." She answered the reporter's question and then they all raised their hands to get their attention. The police answered a lot of questions from reporters and journalists.

Unknowingly to humans, the young man with fair complexion with blue-like fire eyes and darker blue hair observed the press conference. He narrowed his eyes, he picked up a lot of information. Suddenly, Ryō's brown eyes contacted his blue fire eyes. The chief of police was puzzled at first, but he instantly froze when the young man gave him a smirk that caused Ryō to feel his blood run cold. He blinked and the young man was gone. He rubbed his eyes, then looked at where the young man was, he's not there like he doesn't exist. He felt the tap from his right as he startled and looked to his right, one of male colleagues looked concerned. "Chief, you okay?" He asked him. Ryō pinched the bridge of his nose. "I'm alright, maybe I was tired." He replied, he can't lie, but he could have sworn he saw the young man smirking at him. Was he really hallucinating? He quickly brushed it off as he was tired.

The sun set at Horikawa High School, the students joining the club were heading home and saying farewell to their new friends and seniors. Sakuya was outside of the entrance waiting for Mitsuki, so they could talk about the clubs. She can hear the footsteps coming towards her, thinking that's Mitsuki, so she lifted her head up with a smile. Her smile dropped when she only saw Fenrir, but she quickly smiled in a friendly way. "Oh hi Fenrir." She greeted him. "Hey Sakuya, are you supposed to be on the way home?" He greets her back, yet asks her with curiosity written all over his face. Sakuya shook her head. "Not yet, but I am waiting for Mitsuki, we usually walk together until the street where we split off." She replied. Fenrir slightly widened his eyes, then smiled at her and looked back. "I can wait here, but I can offer you two to walk together until you two reach home." He offered her. Sakuya shook her head. "You don't have to, but don't you have to look after your foster father?" She declined his offer, but she was generous of him, except Yosuke needed to look after. Fenrir spared his glance at the tomboy girl. "I insist, and besides he will let that slide when I tell him about you two." He insisted. Sakuya can't help, but appreciate his offer. She and Fenrir heard footsteps, they looked at the school entrance, and Mitsuki walked out with her school bag. Her silver blue eyes focused on Sakuya and Fenrir, she gave them a bright smile. "Hi you two, so how was the club?" She greeted them and asked about their club. Sakuya grinned widely and showed off her right bicep and her left palm tapped her bicep proudly. "Senpais, coaches, and teammates were impressed and terrified at the same time after I took down the captain's ass. You should have seen their faces, it was so hilarious." She baffled and lowered her arms. Fenrir and Mitsuki were staring at Sakuya, then Mitsuki let out a nervous giggle. Fenrir reluctantly smirked. "Sooner or later, you will be promoted as badass captain." He said sarcastically. Sakuya lowered her hands and shrugged her shoulders. "Wait until I reach my third year." She said and she headed out of the school zone. Mitsuki and Fenrir glanced at Sakuya, he looked at wolf hanyō. "You think she will become a captain?" He asked her. Mitsuki tilting her head and thinking. "Most likely, you should meet her cousins. They are the reason why she joined Jūdo." She replied, and mentioned Sakuya's cousins as she looked away. Fenrir seemed eager as he looked at the short wolf girl. Mitsuki glanced at him as she noticed his slit pupil dilated, however she was curious about his other half. She wondered if his dilated eyes may have to do with his other half. "Umm, when are you going to tell me about your other half?" She asked him. Fenrir blinked and looked away with a smile, but his smile faded. "I will tell you when I feel ready." He replied softly. "Huh?" Mitsuki blinked in slight shock. She looked at her shoes in disappointment. "I see…" She mutterly replied. Fenrir looked at her, he felt bad and he approached her and he lifted his right index and middle fingers and poked on her forehead. Mitsuki startled and looked at Fenrir with wide eyes. He smiled at her. "Come on, I am not saying I don't trust you and Sakuya. You two are really damn close despite the difference." He said and moved his right fingers away from her forehead. Mitsuki placed her left palm over her forehead. "You should smile more, you look breathtaking." He added as he began to flirt. Mitsuki only shyly smiled and blushed. She was about to open her mouth, but… "Are you two done flirting, let's go!" Sakuya hollered out. Two hybrid humans looked at Sakuya. Mitsuki mentally thanks Sakuya for getting out of this, although she will scold her later. "Coming." She called out and walked ahead, meanwhile Fenrir was a little annoyed at Sakuya for ruining the moment. "God fucking dammit." He muttered and followed two girls. Sakuya gave them a sneered smile. "What are you two flirting about?" She asked them. Mitsuki was about to protest, but Fenrir beat her as he smirked. "I told her that she would look breathtaking, if she smiled more." He bluntly honestly replied. "Fenrir-san!" Mitsuki cried out loud in embarrassment, her face became redder as a tomato. Sakuya looked at them for a while, then Mitsuki as she smirked. "I bet other girls will be so damn jealous." She said to imagine other girls' jealousy. Mitsuki pouted at her best friend as she fumed. "I'm kidding! I'm kidding!" Sakuya joked and started walking ahead. Mitsuki glanced at Fenrir while fumming. Fenrir lifted his hands in mocking surrender. "I can't lie to her." He defended himself. Mitsuki softened as she smiled at him. "So what the hell does she mean about other girls?" He asked and lowered his hands. She shrugged her shoulders. "We had a theory you might have a bunch of girls forming the fan club. It might be harder for Sakuya-chan and myself if they find out you mostly hang out with us." She explains the theory of girls only fan clubs. Fenrir raised his eyebrow, but Mitsuki followed Sakuya as he followed her. "Please don't get me wrong, you look like a model with a bad boy vibe and good looking facial structure." She added as Sakuya stopped to look at two hybrid humans. Fenrir scoffed and shook his head. "If that stupid ass fan club is formed, I will be careless about them. I mean, they don't know about me, but you two because my foster father told me about you ladies." He replied. Sakuya and Mitsuki couldn't help, but agree with Fenrir, despite the fact that they only met for one day and they never met Yosuke in person. Mitsuki placed her finger underneath her chin. "That is true, although Sakuya-chan and I never met Kiryū-dono in person. We heard of him and saw him from a photograph." She said, however, Sakuya didn't understand why she and Mitsuki never met Yosuke. Although, it makes sense because they always planned ahead just two of them with Sakuya's older cousin or her aunt-in-law, sometimes they both studied at Sakuya's house. That explains why she and Mitsuki never met Yosuke. Fenrir widened his eyes as he caught up with them. "You two will meet him someday, he doesn't want you to get bored when it comes to adults." He said as encouragement that they will meet Yosuke someday. Sakuya and Mitsuki smiled at him, they will meet him one day.

Mitsuki heard her smartphone vibrating from her bag, so she unzipped her school bag and reached in the pocket and pulled her smartphone out. She unlocked the screen, and it's from Taiga. Sakuya and Fenrir looked at her. "Mitsuki?" Fenrir asked. "My apology, I left my message to Ōkannushi-dono and asked what he wanted for dinner tonight." Mitsuki apologizes with a smile and rereads the message. "Ah, it looks like he is at the local grocery. He said he will meet me on the way home." She added and texted back before she put her smartphone back in the school bag. Fenrir looked at Mitsuki as they all continued walking. Sakuya glanced at Mitsuki when she remembered. "Say, have the captain, manager, and faculty advisor discuss your schedule." She asked her out of curiosity. Mitsuki looked at her best friend, then nodded firmly. "According to them, they will allow me to do my duty if it's important, however I cannot miss the tournament and training practice. I have Captain Ugetsu, Michiya-senpai, and Emiya-sensei's numbers. It turns out Emiya-sensei is a faculty advisor." She replied to her and their culinary teacher was her faculty advisor. Fenrir glanced at the shrine maiden as he was listening. Sakuya widen her brown eyes when she hear Ms. Emiya. "What!? Emiya-sensei is your faculty advisor!" She nearly shouted. "Care to ask me who the hell is Emiya-sensei?" Fenrir asked them out of curiosity. Girls looked at him, then they exchanged smiles at each other. "Emiya-sensei is our culinary teacher. She can be a bit strict, but she is actually a very nice teacher. She used to be a Kyudo champion from what I have been told." Mitsuki explains about Ms. Emiya. Fenrir let out a smirk before they were about to turn the corner. "Sounds like you and your teammates have a mentor." He commented as girl's laughed lightly.

Those three were talking about their coach and teammates, later they changed their subject as girls told Fenrir about their daily life. He couldn't help, but smiled when offered by Mitsuki to come visit the Yamakawa Shrine when she had to perform her kagura dance, ritual, and buy souvenirs for his club tournament. Fenrir thought long and hard, then he eventually agreed. "Yeah, I can stop by at your legal guardian shrine sometimes." He agreed to stop by. Mitsuki smiled brightly, then Sakuya grinned. "You know, me and Mitsuki sometimes go out at night to check out the paranormal investigation, if she and I heard anything haunted or troubling related to the supernatural. I know you said not to come out at night because of white wolf sighting, but we can't just ignore it." She said about their paranormal investigation. Fenrir sharply darted his predator eyes at her. "Just don't come out at night. I won't say it again." He warned her and Mitsuki, that startled them. Mitsuki's sense of smell caught the smell of incense, then she turned her face away from Fenrir. She saw Taiga Yamakawa's back and he seemed to hold the grocery bags, she smiled and picked up her pace. Fenrir's predator eyes followed her retreat figure, Sakaya saw Taiga's back. "Oh, that's her legal guardian." She told him as Mitsuki approached his back. "Good evening Ō-kannushi-dono." She greeted him with a bright smile. Taiga stopped and turned around to see Mitsuki, he smiled back. "Good evening Mitsuki, how was school and club? Are you and Tsukimo-" He greeted her, when his brown eyes lifted up as his words suddenly stopped when his brown eyes laid on Fenrir. His eyes were widening, he can tell he's half breed, but his aura made his blood run cold. It scares him. What was more scary, Fenrir's eyes were eager on Mitsuki like she was his prey. He was about to open his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Mitsuki noticed his hesitation and she turned around for a brief second, then she smiled. "Ah, Sakuya-chan and I met a new friend." She told him about their new friend. Taiga was baffled, didn't she sense his aura that scares him. Sakuya and Fenrir approach Mitsuki as Sakuya waved at Head Priest. "What's up, Yamakawa?" She greets him. Taiga finally found his words. "Wha… What were you two thinking?!" He raised his voice that startled two girls, while Fenrir sharply shifted his predator eyes from Mitsuki to Taiga. He froze when their eye contact met, his breathing was hitched. Fenrir's golden predator eyes, Taiga couldn't help, but his eyes looked familiar. Fenrir's slitted pupil became more narrow, until Sakuya spoke out. "What the hell do you mean? He's Kiryū Fenrir, adopted son of the Temple Monk. Plus, you should be happy that Kiryū got him out of that hellhole orphanage back in Romania." Sakuya said she never saw Taiga that scared. Taiga was focusing on Fenrir, however Fenrir smirked as he flashed his fangs. Taiga felt his spined chilled from the sight of enlarged fangs. "You must be Yamakawa Taiga, I'm Kiryū Fenrir. Nice to meet you. My foster father talked about you." Fenrir introduces himself to Taiga. Taiga tries to calm his nerves by swallowing himself. "Nice… Nice to meet you. I saw Yosuke during the police interrogation, he looks like he's in rough shape." He said in a meeky tone. Mitsuki and Sakuya looked at Taiga, was he actually scared of Fenrir? Fenrir dropped his smirk and looked down to think of Yosuke. "Damnit, I told him not to walk by himself." He muttered and messed up his messy pure white hair. "I will have a word with him when I get home. Taiga lifted his eyes as he smiled. "Oh please do, you don't want to keep him waiting." He said in a relieved smile, wanting Fenrir to leave. However Mitsuki and Sakuya frowned as Fenrirrasied his eyebrow. "Ō-kannushi-dono." "Do you have any idea how the fuck those Romanian Orthodox Christians treated him?" Mitsuki warns him, then Sakuya scolds Taiga. Taiga looked at two girls in confusion, but how much Fenrir told them. Sakuya sighed in disbelief. "I don't know what kind of mistreat those Christians did to him, but you sounded like you don't want him around us. And come on, he is escorting us home." She said in slight annoyance. Taiga was astonished by the girls defending him, just as Mitsuki turned around and approached Fenrir and gave him a repeated apology bow. "I am terribly sorry about Ō-kannushi-dono." She apologized to him. Fenrir took a deep breath and reached his right hand out and patted her head, to Taiga's nervousness. "Stand up straight." He said to her and moved his right hand away from her head. She stood up straight and looked at him. Fenrir looked at her and smiled sincerely. "No need to apologize, he probably said that because his old friend needed to look after." He accepted her apology and assumed Taiga was worried about Yosuke. Mitsuki thought back, maybe Yosuke needs to look after since the injury from white wolf. She smiled back. "Maybe you are right." She replied. "Still, like Sakuya said, I have to escort you ladies home." He added that he is escorting them home. Mitsuki and Sakuya exchange their glances and smile at each other. Fenrir glanced at Taiga, who was frozen, he gave him a smirk that Taiga felt his blood run cold. Mitsuki looked at Fenrir. "I have to carry Ō-kanuushi-dono's grocery bags, and we will head home." She said and turned around, she approached Taiga and extended her hand for his grocery bags. Taiga smiled at her weakly and handed her the grocery bag. Mitsuki looked at Sakuya and Fenrir. "Shall we head home?" "Hell yeah." Sakuya replied as Fenrir smirked in amusement, he caught up with two ladies as they headed off with Taiga following them. Taiga kept his eye on Fenrir's back, he noticed the Romanian Exchange Student was awfully close to Mitsuki. He didn't like it one bit, he needed to have a word with Yosuke about Fenrir, and find out his origin.

The young man with fair complexion with blue-like fire eyes and chin length darker blue hair, dressed in blue European Victorian suit with ivory pants and darker brown boots, was heading to the forest. He kept his smile, all of the information he learned from the police press conference was interesting. He arrived at the old and ruined temple, and his fire blue eyes focused on another tall shadow figure sitting on the decayed stairs. He kneeled down as he bowed. "Have you found anything interesting?" The man in a deep voice spoke out. The young man kept his head down. "The police decided to reopen the case for the late emperor and human shrine maiden, my lord. Another interesting thing is, there is white wolf in sight." He informed him. The shadow figure lifted his head, then looked at the horizon. "Lin, keep an eye out on the police and find any evidence as possible, but that white wolf might be a bigger problem." He said to a young man named Lin. Lin lifted his head and stood up straight, he dropped his smile. "I will work on it. According to the police chief, the police will cooperate with Kannushi Yamakawa and Temple Monk Kiryū. I need to stay clear of priests and monks, they might catch my presence." He agreed and passed the info to his lord. The lord sighed deeply, of course they will have a problem, but white wolf is their main problem. He tapped his fingers against his knees. "Yes, keep your distance. There might be a chance that a fool is working with someone. You are dismissed." He replied. "Yes, my lord." Lin politely bowed and he left the ruined temple ground. The lord waited until his partner was completely out of the sight, then he spoke out about the person in interest. "Yamakawa, huh. Where the hell did I hear that name from?"

For those you didn't know, tsuru means bowstring, yumi means bow, hane means feather, yajiri means arrowhead, yazutsu means arrow barrel, yebira means quiver, and ya means arrow in Japanese. Just to clarify for each character's personality, both Fenrir and Mitsuki characteristic are base on my roleplay:

Mitsuki is shown to be quiet, yet kind hearted, caring, and selfless. She is shy and gentle of heart, but possesses benevolent, compassionate, and magnanimous nature in a young girl's purest of heart. She is innocent, she will put others out of harm's way. She treats both humans and supernatural beings as an equal. However in this story, her origin as wolf hanyō remains a mystery because she has been told by her legal guardian that her mother entrusted her to him and begged him to keep her safe before she disappeared and never returned. She doesn't know anything about her biological father yet.

Fenrir is a "suave" young man with a mysterious aura. He is quite popular with all his female classmates because of his devilishly handsome and model's face. Although, his true personality shows a little bit (like in roleplay, but you will see soon): yes he has a foul language, but there is more than meets the eye like he chuckled at Mitsuki's distressed wish for better life in high school. He likes to mess with others like Yosuke, maybe Mitsuki and Sakuya to tease them. He will have either major or semi character development later in this story because of two main heroines, but we shall see. He seems to know about Mitsuki's origin, so that's why he can't allow anyone or herself to know. He did show his soft, caring, and tender side, he strictly told Mitsuki not to come out of her shrine ground at night after the sight of white wolf.

Sakuya earlier describes as a stubborn, tomboy and easily enraged girl. She is rebellious due to how her maternal cousins play rough houses, while her aunt-in-law tries so hard to raise her like a normal girl. However, she is a loyal friend and always has her friends back. I pictured her as an enthusiastic girl, who loves to meet Yokai, Akuma, Ayakashi, and Momonosuke in person, and watch Mitsuki in action, but she cannot see the ghosts. Although, from the last chapter she has experienced the trauma after the death of her parents, so I might make her experience it in the future.

We learn a little bit of Fenrir's backstory, yeah he was mistreated by Romanian Orthodox Christians, but what he said was half of the truth. You will know his true background later in the chapter (maybe when he reveals his other half). Just to make it clear for christianity, I don't have anything negative or against any of Christians (I have one or two Christian friends, I respect their religious brief). So this character named Lin appears, but who is the Lord he is serving and why are those two want to know about unsolved murder case and white wolf?
