Kyle and Tamara are currently packing their bags for Melbourne, they're planning on leaving soon. Kyle's hands are shaking as he puts his stuff in his bag. He thinks he's going to enjoy the second part of the trip a lot more, he and Tamara were going to spend two weeks in Tasmania, a place neither of them have been to.
"You okay baby?" Tamara asks as she rubs Kyle's back. She's worried about her boyfriend.
"Yeah… what if they try to mess with me again?" Kyle asks. "I know I'm a grown man, but I let my brothers mess with me on occasion. How am I meant to stop my old high school bullies?" Kyle asks.
"I'll be there, so will Mac, so will Tyson and Trent will be there. He'll make sure his old friends don't mess with you." Tamara says as she stands up on her top toes and kisses Kyle on the cheek.
"Thanks, babe." Kyle smiles down at her. He turns back and finishes packing his bag. He turns and sees that Tamara has finished as well.
"Let's go put these in the car, then we'll get on the got a long drive to get there today." Tamara smiles. Kyle grins.
"Sounds good babe. Hopefully, we'll have a bit of time In Melbourne before we go to the reunion." Kyle says. He can show Tamara all of his favourite places to eat and explore.
"Yeah! You can show me your old foster home." Tamara says and smiles at Kyle.
Kyle pulls a face. "Yeah let's not do that."
"How come? I wanna see where you grew up." Tamara asks. Kyle just shrugs his shoulders.
"Just not a happy place for me. I can take you to my old house where I lived with my mum though. Then if you want, I can take you to where my mum's buried." Kyle says. Then looks at Tamara who is staring at him. "Unless you don't want to." He says quickly.
"It's not that Kyle, it's just that… you're so brave, it must be so hard going back to those places." She says as she rubs Kyle's back.
"I loved my mum. I want to share that part of my life with you. Life wasn't easy for us, but it was good." Kyle says causing Tamara to smile.
"Well, then that sounds lovely," Tamara says. She pulls Kyle in for a kiss and they only break apart when there's a bang on the door.
Kyle rolls his eyes, he opens the door. "Hey Heath, what's up?"
"Do you know how to give a wedgie?" Heath asks without really acknowledging Kyle's welcome.
Kyle furrows his eyebrows. "No, I mean I've received a few, but never given any." He answers confused by Heath's question.
"Okay, I'll explain it. Then if need be, you can give one." Heath says causing Kyle to roll his eyes.
"Can you also able to teach me how to clone myself because that's the only way that I can wedgie one of them and not die." Kyle huffs.
Heath rolls his eyes. "Just trying to be helpful."
Kyle smiles lightly. "I know, thanks, Heath. But I'll be okay."
"Fine, but if anyone gives you any trouble I'll be wanting names." Heath orders causing Kyle to nod, not really considering telling his brother, it'll only cause unnecessary trouble.
"Anyways baby, we better get on the road," Tamara says and grabs ahold of her boyfriend's hand.
"Now? It's still early." Heath says.
"Yeah, it's a long drive. We're planning to do it all today as well." Kyle explains shrugging. We should hopefully be there by six." Kyle says.
Heath nods his head. "Where are you staying?" He asks.
"With Mac," Kyle replies causing Heath to huff.
"And Trent."
Kyle smiles lightly. "Yeah, he'll be there too."
"I still don't get why you've forgiven him, he's a loser." Heath huffs.
Kyle rolls his eyes. "Okay let's go through this again. You would want the kids you bullied to forgive you right, to see you're not a massive arsehole." Kyle says rolling his eyes.
"Whatever, he's still a loser. Thinking he's so brave, he and his nine friends bullying one scrawny kid." Heath huffs.
Kyle rolls his eyes. "Was the scrawny part really necessary?" He questions.
Heath shrugs. "No, but I'm making a point."
"Well, point made. But we've got to go, see you in a few weeks." Kyle replies and picks up his bag. He and Tamara were planning on driving to Adelaide and spending a week there.
"Kyle, look after yourself. Don't let those punks pick on you." Heath says seriously. Kyle turns to his brother and gives him a small smile.
"Thanks, Heath," Kyle replies smiling. Kyle and Tamara walk out to Ricky's jeep.
After putting their stuff in the back, Kyle pulls Tamara in for a kiss: "Let's go." He says.
…
After a long drive, Tamara and Kyle arrive at Mac's. They get out, grab their bags and head towards the house.
"So this is where you lived before coming to the bay?" Tamara asks, causing Kyle to nod.
"Yep, this is where I hid from the boys." Kyle chuckles. "It didn't work." He says seriously.
"But aren't you glad you moved to the Bay though? It's where you met me." Tamara says causing Kyle to smirk.
"Technically we met in the desert," Kyle says causing Tamara to hit him.
"Ow!" Kyle says grabbing ahold of his arm.
Tamara gives him a small smile and kisses him on the cheek. They reach the front door and knock.
After a minute Trent opens the door wearing a pink apron. Kyle can't hide his shock and gives a small snort of laughter that he can't hold back.
Tamara jabs him in the ribs as she bites her bottom lip herself to stop herself laughing.
"Sorry, just didn't expect that." Kyle apologises. Trent smiles to himself.
"If anyone can get away at laughing at me, it's you," Trent says as Tamara and Kyle walk into the house.
Mac comes out of the kitchen and hugs Kyle. "Hey, Kylie."
"Hey yourself Mac Attack."
"Trent's just about to put some steak on the barbie, I'm making some salads. You guys make yourself at home." She says and goes back into the kitchen.
"I'll give you a hand," Tamara says as she hands Kyle her bag before going into the kitchen.
"Here I'll show you the way," Trent says causing Kyle to follow him. Kyle's sure they're in his old room, but he doesn't want to rock the boat. Plus Trent might want to talk.
Trent leads Kyle to his old room. After Kyle puts the bags on the bed, he turns and sees Trent standing awkwardly by the door. Kyle knows why, this is the first time the two of them have been left alone.
"So," Trent says not really knowing what to say.
"So," Kyle replies.
"I know I've apologised. But I wanted to again. I really screwed up in high school. I did things to you that no one should have to go through, I made your life a complete nightmare." Trent apologises.
Kyle wears a light smile. "I'm not going to lie and say that you didn't. But like I said, I'm willing to forgive." Kyle says as he gets their phone chargers and his laptop out of his bag.
"Are you worried about seeing the others?" Trent asks nervous about what the reply will be.
Kyle stops what he's doing and turns to face Trent. "Yeah. I am. I'm worried they're going to mess with me again. I mean like you say. As far as you know they haven't changed." Kyle says.
Trent nods. "Just remember, it's their problem, not yours." He says. Kyle turns to Trent smiling slightly.
"Thanks, Trent. It's nice to know that at least one of my bullies has grown a heart." Kyle says. "Vince and the twins worry me though. I assume they're still huge?" Kyle asks.
"Yeah, I think so. It's been a while but yeah, last time I was them they were big. They used to be able to bench 115 kgs. Kyle's eyes bulge.
"You're kidding, right? I can barely bench 60 kgs, no scratch that. I can't bench 60 kgs." Kyle says sighing loudly.
"I can bench 60 kgs," Trent says causing Kyle to turn around and give him a small glare. "Good for you." He says with a small smile on his face so Trent knows he's not angry.
"Have you been in contact with anyone from high school?" Trent asks.
"Yeah, I saw Ty the other day," Kyle replies causing Trent to look slightly confused.
"Tyson Bates," Kyle says causing Trent to look down.
"Another apology I need to make," Trent says causing Kyle to smirk.
"That'll be good. When I told him that I saw you, he asked if you gave me a wedgie." Kyle says causing Trent to wear a small smirk.
"Well even if I intended to, your brothers are scary and it wasn't worth it," Trent says causing Kyle to laugh.
"Yeah, I've been on the wrong end of their anger, not fun," Kyle says.
"Anyways, should we get these steaks on?" Trent asks. Kyle nods, and he follows Trent out to the backyard.
…
The next day Kyle and Tamara are out for a walk, Kyle is showing Tamara around Melbourne.
"So that's my favourite restaurant it has the best pizza, do you want one?" Kyle asks as he points out an Italian restaurant.
"Sure, you better not say that in front of Brax," Tamara says laughing.
Kyle smirks in reply. "Don't worry, I would never do that. Can you please not either?"
Tamara laughs and pulls Kyle close. "Don't worry I won't." He says and smiles at Tamara. They both walk into the restaurant and Kyle immediately stops in his tracks.
"Let's go somewhere else," Kyle says and begins to walk outside. Tamara grabs his arm and lightly pulls him back.
"Baby?" She questions confused.
"I think that's them over there," Kyle says and tilts his head towards six people sitting at a table.
Tamara looks and sees three big guys along with three girls who are clinging to their arms.
"Okay, let's go. What's your second favourite restaurant?" Tamara questions.
Kyle looks between the door and the restaurant.
"Screw it," Kyle says and walks up to the bar. "Table for two please." He says.
Tamara looks at her boyfriend concerned. "You sure you're up for this?" She questions.
Kyle nods. "Yeah, I'm not going to not eat at my favourite restaurant because of them," Kyle says as the waitress leads them to their table, the table is quite close to the bullies and Tamara can see that Kyle's shaking slightly. She reaches over and squeezes Kyle's hand.
