2- A New World of Gods and Monsters.

A few hours later Madison was back on her house, but not alone as she came in the living room which was connected to the kitchen alongside Sokka and Suki, who accepted to come with her and her mother.

"Well, this is…my home. At least for now." Madison proclaimed showing the inside of her house to the non-benders (who wore their same civilian outfits from their house in Ba Sing Se shortly after Zuko's coronation) with open arms.

"Wow, it really is pretty. I haven't seen a house like this one before." Suki admitted as she took a look around.

"Yeah. I've been on a few pretty good luxurious places, but this is something new. The architecture of this house is like something from the future, especially with all these new techno things." Sokka visualized by taking a deeper sight of everything. Maddie found this pretty amusing.

"Thanks. Some privileges of having a parent that works for Monarch I guess." Madison answered a little flattered. "Anyway, you feel a little hungry? I know breakfast time is already passed, but I wanted to invite you guys on something. Besides, mom is mostly busy with work so I've decided to learn some recipes in order to get meals ready for when she arrives."

"Nah, don't worry. I'm always available for a nice meal."

"Glad to know. I'll try on making some tea as well. I don't know if I can match the one from the Jasmine Dragon, but I'm trying my best." Maddie added as she began preparing everything in the kitchen for preparing something to eat while Suki and Sokka sat on chairs in front of the main table.

"You know Iroh's tea shop too?" Suki asked lightly surprised.

"Oh yeah. I used to go there with my family as some of its most regular customers shortly after he and the White Lotus liberated the city from the Fire Nation in the day of the comet and reclaimed his establishment." Madison affirmed as she left the pan ready cooking something and a toaster on before putting a teapot filled with water for boiling for tea making. "He was the one who gave me all the recipes I already know by now, and the one who told me all about you and your adventures."

"Yeah, from all firebenders that I know he is probably the friendliest one. He even helped us a couple of times long ago before Zuko joined our team." Sokka said before seeing like if Maddie had some issues with the kitchen tools. "Hum, isn't that much work for you?"

"Oh no, It's okay. I've everything under control." Madison assured checking that all the cooking was alright before sitting with the pair.

"Hum, alright. If you say so." Suki responded raising one of her eyebrows slightly, not completely convinced of the daughter's reassuring.

"You see, I wanted to ask you this: How did you do it? I mean, what made you embark on this journey of yours alongside Aang in quest for balance? What made you all go and fight against the Fire Nation?"

"That's a good question, Maddie. But...you see, there's no secret at all. All we wanted to do was help people and do our part in finish the war and bring peace to the world." Sokka responded sincerely.

"That simple? I don't get it."

"Look, the key for everything what we did is very easy. When you see an injustice in this world, you best do something' about it. You have to stand up and show that you can do anything you propose. Only if you stare there and do nothing or decide to give up its when the bad guys really win."

Madison got touched by Sokka's words, seeing he was right on doing the right thing, more than her realized and thought for so much time.

"Wow, that really sounds inspiring."

"Indeed, and it works. After all, he was the one who inspired me and my warriors to leave our island and help everyone we could our way." Suki added looking at her boyfriend with a blushing and cute face while grabbing his hand, which made his face red too by seeing how cute his girlfriend sounded and looked.

"Well, you helped me too on becoming both a better warrior and better person."

"Aw, you two look so lovely." Maddie expressed by looking at them with her hands on her cheeks, making the couple to regain composure and feeling a little embarrassed of had let her seeing them that way.

"So, what about you Maddie? What's your story?" Sokka started next.

"We heard that you and your family lived first in Ba Sing Se, just like we did." Suki continued.

In that moment the teapot began to get noisier and noisier, signal for Madison to get up, remove it from the fire and put it aside.

"Yes, it was once a place that I used to call home." Madison responded on a sad tone and lowering her head, something that Sokka and Suki noticed. "After what happened in Ba Sing Se, my family got broken. I lost my brother, Andrew. He didn't survive that night. Shortly after that mom and dad got into some bad dispute and ended going separated ways, me staying with mom. Things weren't the same since then."

The young couple turned at each other feeling bad for what their new friend told and returning their sight at her. Unfortunately, that was something that they shared with her.

"We're sorry, Maddie. We didn't know it." Suki apologized for both her and Sokka.

"I know what is to lose someone you care about, both me and my sister." Sokka said with some sorrow on his voice and turning his head aside, making Maddie to turn around and look back at them. "Katara and I lost our mother on a Fire Nation raid on the South Pole when we're little. That was another motive of why we fought: to prevent more people like us going through that kind of pain."

Suki put a comfortable hand on her mate followed by a hug while Maddie dried out the few tears of her understanding that not only her suffered loses, and not everything about her heroes were good things.

"But things have gotten better now. My dad regretted how he behaved previously and has returned to his field work. He's getting better day by day." Madison revealed in order to cheer up the atmosphere. "Besides, I'm sure your mother would be proud of the hero you have become, Sokka. You and your friends are great examples for people to follow, especially for me."

Madison's sincere words worked on making Sokka and Suki feeling better again.

"Thanks Maddie. You're also a good example of a person." Suki thanked as Sokka nodded in agreement.

"Oh, I remember now!" Madison said suddenly realizing something important, so she went running to her room and came back in no time carrying something with her: her own laptop, which she turned on. "My dad must be calling me by now."

"What's that device?" Suki asked curious as both she and Sokka hadn't seen anything like that before.

"Just my laptop." Maddie answered that simple until noticing that was probably the first time they've ever seen a computer. "Ups, sorry. I guess these kind of things are still very new for you."

"Well, yeah. We already know that Monarch has the most advanced ground-breaking scientific technology in the entire world by now. But seriously, I still can't believe they managed to achieve such a level." Sokka said impressed. "I guess the future has come sooner than I expected. The only one who got something similar was Lian."

"You mean the one called The Maker? The woman who created those machines?"

"Yep, the same one. Wait, how do you know that?"

"I saw some files from my parents regarding incidents about weird machines capable of replicating bending abilities." Maddie answered while she got everything ready for talking with her dad by email.

"And you can talk with your dad with that?" Suki said next.

"Indeed. We talk time to time, even if any of us is on the other part of the world. It's what we call online conversation."

"Wow, that sounds way superior than messenger hawks." Sokka expressed in amaze. "And on which Monarch thing is your father focused?"

"Well, he resigned from Monarch shortly, but he keeps up with his work on his own. He's an animal photographer, specialized in wildlife behaviors, biocommunication and predators."

"That sounds very good." Suki remarked.

"Yeah, it is. He's doing some research with a pack of wolves currently. Alright, let's see." Madison said looking at the computer's screen and searching for the conversation link for any updated activity with Sokka and Suki joining her. Then Maddie saw a title that said 'Dad, To: Maddie. How's it going?' and followed by a message. "I knew it. There he is."

Maddie clicked on the link and opened the message from her dad which said 'Hey Madison, Haven't heard from you guys in a while. Hope you're having fun. Here are a few pics of the wolves I've been studying. Aren't they cute? Love, Dad.' Said message was followed by some photos of the wolves below.

"Wow, your father is really good at it." Suki complimented.

"I've never thought I would see a wolf like this, but I really prefer this way or from a good distance, just in case." Sokka opined, making the girls to chuckle with his last phrase.

Maddie kept moving down the screen showing some other photos: one of her with her dad fishing near a forest, probably some past family memory of the two of them together and the other of her dad in front of a pond in a forest area. All this made her smile, something easy for the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors and the Water Tribe warrior boy to notice. Maddie decided to text her father back with the following message. 'Hey Dad, Sorry I haven't written back. I miss you. You're not gonna believe it. Guess who are with me right now: Sokka and Suki from Team Avatar! And I met Aang and Katara before too! Isn't it amazing?! I wish you could be here and meet them. But there's something else I want to talk to you about…' Maddie took a look to where her mother was supposed to be, on her room and after seeing that she seemed to be busy and not going out she included something else on the message. 'I'm getting worried about Mom' and she stopped there, probably because she didn't know how to explain it.

"Why are you worried about your mother? It's something wrong?" Sokka's voice asked next, getting Maddie out of her personal trance and looking at him.

"Oh, well. You see…"

But before she could said anything else some beeping noise was heard coming from some alarm on the kitchen.

"Oh no! No, no, no!" Madison exclaimed in panic getting up and running to the kitchen in a hurry, only to see that maybe she got a little careless with the food because of some smoke coming from the frying pan. "Oh…"

Seeing that Maddie was in a little trouble Suki and Sokka went to give her a hand on things, just the same time when Emma came because of the alarm and saw the mess while carrying the same grey briefcase she had on her room.

"Maddie? Guys?" Emma said putting the briefcase aside before coming to aid the teenagers.

"Hello! Hi Mom!" Madison saluted while putting the burnt meal on a dish and next the pan on the sink and cool it down with some water while Sokka and Suki tried to suffocate the fire with a wet towel, only to put it on flames and forcing Sokka to put it on the floor in panic and stomping on it until the fire was extinguished, making him and Suki to sigh in relief. Emma cut off the gas before using another dishcloth to disperse the smoke far from the alarm and then turn it off with her hand.

"I made a meal for our guests. It's, uh...eggs, toasts, and what was once bacon." Maddie told ensuring that not all food was lost because her carelessness.

"And which do you recommend?" Emma asked after grabbing the toasts out of the toaster with a smiling face.

"The toasts and eggs." Her daughter responded also smiling.

"Thank you."

"A word of advise, Maddie? Next time don't do two things at the same time, or never get your sight out of the kitchen when you're making something." Suki advised grabbing the burned towel and throwing it to the garbage can as Maddie laughed nervously.

"Sorry guys. I've messed it up." Madison apologized as she and her mother put the meal on some other dishes and on the table.

"Nah, it's okay. I've eaten worse things while we wondered through the world, like when we were in the swamp." Sokka assured while checking that he got no burns anywhere before going back to his chair and joining everyone else. "And these are way better than those then."

"Thanks. I've to keep practicing in order to improve myself and my cooking." Madison thanked before closing her laptop quickly and next grabbing the teapot. "Tea?" She said as she got the tea ready to serve, with her mother, Sokka and Suki nodding for her to serve them on each cup.

"What were you working on?" Emma asked to her daughter after looking at her laptop, wondering what was Madison doing while she was on her room.

"Um, I was looking at recipes." Madison answered, but her mother suspected that she may be hiding something.

"For toast?" Her mother said with a serious-like voice and face after taking a sip on her cup of tea. That made Madison know that she was not buying it her excuse and didn't know what other thing to say.

"Maybe not for that one, but true that she told us that she has been learning about cooking in order to help you while you are busy with all your Monarch stuff." Sokka answered supporting Madison, who smiled at seeing him trying to cover her. "Although she still has a lot to learn."

"Yes. You must be working too hard, so she wanted to…" Suki supported as well.

"Guys, it's okay." Emma interrupted raising her hand to them, telling them to stop calmed before turning at her daughter again. "I know when Maddie hides something."

Madison saw there was no point on insisting, seeing that her mother was right so she decided to tell the truth.

"Dad's been emailing me." Madison confessed as she went to grab the rest of the food she prepared and put it on the table. Just what her mother expected. "But he looks good. Healthy."

"Have you responded?" Her mother asked next.

"Not yet."

Madison started eating alongside Suki and Sokka, but Emma now seemed like a little uncomfortable and worried, knowing what happened to her ex-husband and how their family became broken shortly. Besides...she knew how much Madison suffered regarding that and more so she didn't wanna see her daughter getting hurt emotionally again. She was trying to protect her, like every good mother would do.

"Madison, I just don't want to see you get hurt." Emma said, trying to explain herself the best she could.

"I know." Madison replied.

"Especially with everything that's going on right now."

"Mom, I know." Madison repeated.

Sokka and Suki looked at each other as they stood there watching mother and daughter talking. No wanting to interfere on such personal conversation they remained silent while eating and drinking tea, the same as Madison tried to do.

"Listen, I know things haven't been easy for you. But we're gonna get through this. Together." Emma reassured to Madison before looking at the members of Team Avatar. "Alongside your new special friends of course." The non-benders smiled at her as they looked at Madison next and nodded at her, making her smile a little.

"You sure he's gonna be okay?" Madison asked to her mother.

"He is in the safest place that he could be right now."

"Of course he is. You saw what he wrote to you." Suki said for cheering up Madison. "He looks pretty fine."

"And he wouldn't want you to get worried about him." Sokka supported. "When he's ready to come back, he'll tell you."

"They're right. We've to have faith and trust him." Emma added.

All this seemed to cheer her up a little, and that was better than nothing.

"You wanna hear some good news?" Emma told next as she put her right hand on the tech briefcase she brought within. "I finished it."

"Really?" Madison replied, with her mother nodding.

"Hum, what's inside it?" Sokka asked curious, wondering what kind of new device it could be, probably some new creation of Monarch. And knowing how advanced their technology was who knows what else could have they made so far.

"Do you remember how we managed to help you and the others alongside Godzilla when you faced both Shinomura and MUTO Prime?" Emma recalled as she got up and stood in front of her safeguarded artifact. "It was this, or rather its prototype: the Orca, that's how I called it."

"The Orca?" Suki repeated intrigued. "What's that?"

"The solution to our problems."

"So...it's true, the rumors. What people is talking about… There are really more of them?" Suki asked with a worried tone, with Emma nodding.

"You think it's gonna work?" Madison asked her mother, not very convinced.

"It's gonna work." Emma affirmed.

In that moment everything around began to shake, like an earthquake, making the four of them nervous with Sokka and Suki the most who stood hugged to each other. The tremors made the smaller and weaker objects to shake the most and even fall to wherever they were. Then a loud and profound chirp-like roar was heard coming from outside the house, where everyone turned their sight.

"Did...you guys hear that too?" Suki asked surprised and stunned.

"Yeah, and I don't think that was my imagination." Sokka answered a little scared "Wait, don't tell me. That was…? And there's another…? Like back on Ignus Janjira?" He said, not capable of finishing what he wanted to say.

"It's alright, guys." Madison reassured while she and her mother went to the window that leaded to the outside, watching something through it that was outside. "It's gonna be okay."

"Dr. Russell, we need you in Containment." A man called through radio.

"I'm on my way." Emma reported through a walkie talkie at hand. "And I'm bringing special guests from Team Avatar."

"Um, okay. We'll prepare everything for your arrival."

Sokka and Suki joined Emma and Madison in front of the main big window and got wordless of what they're seeing.

"This is not how I expected the new era to begin." Sokka confessed, now more convinced of the truth of Aang's words after the Battle of Ba Sing Se: the new reality for everyone. The world would never be the same.

"Yeah, none of us." Suki agreed with her and Sokka holding hands.

Monarch Outpost 61. Yunnan Rainforest, Northwestern areas of the Earth Kingdom.

The new house of Emma and Madison was in middle of a vast, fertile and beautiful jungle of some secret and unexplored isolated tropical area of the northwest of the Earth Kingdom that only Monarch got presence on after some years since they got there on one of their expeditions around the world despite the war, but the most intriguing and remarkable thing of the place was what stood visible even from very far: a giant pyramid-like temple made entirely by stone which looked very ancient. It even had some similarities with the ones from the Sun Warriors, but according to Monarch's experts this one was probably even more ancient than such civilization, especially because there was no recording of it on Ba Sing Se when they checked it out. Being the only ones in said land Monarch's crew established a research outpost a few meters from the temple connected by a road, just like they did back on Ignus Janjira with the male Muto, although in this case they had already explored most of the structure too and so revealed the long ago forgotten history regarding that sacred sanctuary. But the most valuable and incredible thing the temple held was on its heart, the same thing that got Emma's colleagues so anxious. Shortly after a few minutes Emma, Madison, Sokka and Suki got there, being already inside the tunnels of the pyramid undergrounds that was illuminated from lamps and spotlights from the ceiling and escorted by the man in charge under Emma as they walked to their control center.

"What in the world happened?" Emma asked to her subordinate about the current situation, Dr. Mancini, already changed into her scientist outfit while carrying her tech briefcase, the one containing the Orca.

"No idea. She was sleeping like a baby until an hour ago, and then, boom." Mancini began explaining to her, referring to whatever they found inside the temple which was considered as a female. "Her radiation levels went through the roof. Almost like something triggered it."

"Wow, look at this place. Now that's what I call ancient." Sokka expressed still amazed by the temple, who was back into his normal blue outfit and equipped, feeling a little archaeologist. "I bet it's gotta have lots of thousands of years."

"It's pretty impressive. I didn't know Monarch had found such a place like this." Suki added changed back also into her Kyoshi Warrior outfit but without makeover and ready for anything.

"Well, my mother and her team discovered it a few years ago once they reached to this uncharted region." Madison explained to the teenage couple, guiding them through the tunnels behind her mother and Mancini while carrying her own backpack. "Including what laid there in slumber."

"You mean...a new Titan?"

"Indeed. But don't worry guys. This is not like it went back on Ignus Janjira."

"How much different do you mean with that? Would you care to explain that?" Sokka asked confused, not forgetting what happened in their first encounter with the male Muto back then.

"After the Battle of Ba Sing Se, Monarch's mission changed from hunting and containing MUTOs and other superspecies to discovering and protecting ancient giant creatures which it believed they were essential to the preservation of life in the planet, the ones now called Titans."

That let Sokka and Suki stop stunned as they looked at each other before looking back at Maddie.

"Hum, Maddie, I'm not sure we follow you." Sokka responded a little confused.

"Some on Monarch like my mother believes some Titans are benevolent and a part of the planet's natural ecosystem." Madison told to her friends stopping while turning at them, who really understood this. "You see, such Titans are classified as protectors, like Godzilla and Kong, while others more malevolent are known as destroyers, like the Mutos and Alpha Skullcrawlers. And we think that this one could be another protector of our kind from the past." Madison said showing them some old stone mural on the wall covered in vines and branches illuminated by some spotlights with two scientists taking samples and photos of it. Said mural had the image of a lepidopteran insect, a butterfly or moth in the center joined by two caterpillars, each one under its wings and an egg below.

"Curious. It resembles something similar to a butterfly, or a moth." Suki deduced looking at the mural.

"Yeah, it seems that way." Maddie affirmed. "This place is called the Temple of the Moth after all."

"The Temple of the Moth? Hum...maybe this one will not be a big deal." Sokka said, feeling a bit relieved. "But we cannot be sure at all, so we must be careful." He advised anyway.

"That's good idea, Sokka. Better safe than sorry." Suki agreed with her boyfriend.

"Thanks, Tim. You know, I can take it from here. Why don't you get some rest?" Emma recommended to his partner.

"No way. Sleep or no sleep, I'm not missing this." Mancini insisted a little excited for some event that he and the others seemed to be preparing for.

"Missing it? What does he means?" Sokka asked as he followed everybody else into the main control center that was built inside the main hidden chamber of the temple.

There they found the majority of Monarch's unit of that outpost gathered on said place which was much bigger inside than it looked from the entrance. The chamber even had a pair of giant stone statues resembling two ladies; one at the right and the other on the left while the ceiling was covered by a bunch of vines. But the most astonishing thing was what stood in the center of the chamber in front of everyone: it seemed some kind of giant egg, but it had a unique appearance. It was blue, with some shiny light from the inside and covered by vein-like vines. The light emitted by the egg illuminated the whole chamber and it was surrounded by a security perimeter and a circle of spotlights while everything was monitored back on the control center with scanners and other newly advanced equipment. The sound of a heartbeat was heard all around said ancient sacred chamber, with such pulse coming from inside the egg. Even the egg membrane seemed to move just like a heart with its own beat. A squad was on their way toward the egg and take positions around it, all equipped with some kind of high technological electric guns, possible for self-defense or mostly for some containment procedure in case something else happened.

"Containment Team, move into primary position." A voice instructed from a speaker.

"It's that...an egg?" Suki asked astonished.

"Yeah, it is." Madison confirmed, as she had already see it before a couple of times at least.

"Sedatives?" Emma asked next.

"No effect. This thing wants to be born." Mancini responded.

"I've a bad feeling about this." Sokka said for himself worried.

"Don't worry, Sokka. Everything will be alright." Madison assured.

"Sorry to be this pessimist Maddie but it's easier said than done. This is exactly how it happened before back on Ignus Janjira." Sokka insisted. "Those guys thought they had everything under control and then, Boom! The monster got out awoke and on the loose while everything went crumbling down."

"Sokka is right on this matter, Maddie. When it comes with these creatures all precaution may be not enough." Suki supported. "We know this from experience."

"I understand, but I assure you. This one is nothing like the Mutos." Maddie said.

"I hope you're right pal." Sokka said with a not very convinced tone as they turned their sight back at the egg.

"Emergency protocol is in effect. Ten seconds to biocontainment." The previous voice informed through the speaker.

The containment unit took positions around the egg standing in front of it as they awaited orders or anything else that could happen then. Being that near the troops could feel and hear some low screeches. No doubt that something big was gonna get out of that egg very soon.

"Her time has come." Emma sensed.

"Her? Is that a female?" Sokka asked confused. "How do you know?"

"The legend of this place, and the ones related with it as well. But mostly because of the title she was given on her origin place: a distant island where she and her kind were worshiped as gods by the natives since ancient times. I think this one is the last of that lineage, and probably the most revered goddess."

"Wow. You know, that sounds quite familiar to me."

"Yes, just like on Skull Island with Kong and his predecessors." Suki reminded, nodded by Sokka and the Russells.

"And what title this one was called with?"

"The Giver of Life." Emma revealed.

In that moment a lump began to form on the upper part of the egg that got bigger and bigger, breaking most of the vines that covered the membrane before this started to crack as new chirp-like snarls were heard coming from it. It was a sight to be hold and everyone got fascinated by what was happening in front of them: the birth of a new Titan. It was the chance of a lifetime. Once it hatched completely from the egg the figure, which emitted the same soft blue light from inside of its body and looked covered with silk on some parts of the body stood rising above the humans before slowly turning around and look at them, noticing their presence and allowing them to see better what kind of animal it was. The newborn Titan seemed to be hatched in some larval stage, so it was clear that it has to be some kind of giant insect. In fact, the creature was literally a giant segmented caterpillar. The segments of her body were rounded and covered with armored plates, and her head was very small compared to the rest of her body. Her legs were large, visible and sharp and her eyes small and blue. But the most amazing fact of the larva Titan was her bioluminescence, giving her a dazzling appearance. Also she had a mouth quite different from a regular silkworm, more similar to the one of a meat-eating bug. The caterpillar stood on her hind legs, showing that she could reach 16 meters high.

"Meet Titanus Mosura." Mancini said introducing the newborn Titan. "Or as we like to call her…"

"Mothra." Madison finished, looking at her in amaze like her mother.

"Incredible." Emma expressed.

"So it's a giant caterpillar? It's not as amazing as I thought it would be." Sokka opined, not much surprised now as the others, making much of the scientists to look at him with a face that said 'what?', including Suki, Emma and Madison. "Well, a little."

"I think it's kind of cute." Suki opined for her own.

"Yeah, for a bug Titan. Although I gotta say you're right Suki. She really is better looking than the Mutos."

Mothra looked at the containment unit still surrounding her with curiosity while making some soft chirps. She was just born and didn't expect to find humans on her presence and just a few meters from her or with such looks. It was something new for her, above all of how these ones had changed the temple that the forgotten people of the past built in her and her ancestors honor.

"Activating containment grid." A female voice announced by a speaker.

Instantly a barrier of numerous laser-like beams turned on around Mothra, startling her. She got confused, with no idea of what was going on. What were those humans doing? Why they wanted to confine her on her own temple? These seemed nothing alike the ones that used to revered her and her kind. As she looked trapped on her birth place the only thing she could do was watch the squad guarding her with their electrical weapons emitting sparks, who did not go unnoticed regardless the containment grid thanks to the thermal vision her eyes had. Suddenly an alarm sounded as the grid started to glitch in red until it turned off unexpectedly. She was free, but all this was starting to irritate Mothra.

"Warning. Warning." The automated female voice warned through the same speaker.

"What's happening?" Emma asked to Mancini.

Mothra let out a soft roar as she tried to move out of the security perimeter, alarming the squad as they prepared their guns at the feeling that she could get on the loose.

"Aw, I wish I was wrong. Why couldn't I being wrong? Why universe?" Sokka cursed, hating being right on his worried feeling of things getting bad for them, which became that way most of times.

"Hum, who is Sokka talking to?" Madison asked confused to Suki.

"Nothing, Sokka stuff. He says these kinda things often."

"I knew this was gonna happen!" Sokka kept complained.

"Something's really wrong here." Mancini told as he watched on a nearby screen the systems of the containment grid that supposed had to keep the specimen at bay getting deactivated. "Containment systems are failing. Perimeter alarms are going off, the whole network's going insane."

"What do you mean? How is that possible?" Emma asked shocked.

"Emma, I think someone else is doing this." He suspected.

"Someone? But that's impossible. Only Monarch possess this advanced technology." Suki responded.

"I wish it was as you say."

They got interrupted by another roar of Mothra, a loud one and whose bioluminescence had changed to red. A sign that now she was getting angry and more as she began shaking things up with her stomping and keep roaring.

"I think that is the least of our problems. She's getting mad!" Suki warned pointing both at Mothra and the containment unit that pointed their guns at her.

"Containment Team, stand down. I repeat, stand down. You are scaring her." Emma ordered talking by radio.

However the team didn't get the order seriously, being them the scared ones of Mothra's intimidating looks, snarling and glaring at them threateningly, but she did nothing anyway. That until one of the soldiers yelled and rose his weapon at her, making Mothra roar back at him and hit one of her clawed segmented legs in front of him as a warning move, although the force of the hit pushed the soldier backwards. Once he got up the same soldier shouted at the giant invertebrate and retaliated against the giant larva shooting an electric projectile from his gun. This didn't harm Mothra, but it was enough to provoke her and get motives to defend herself. The giant larva growled back and spit silk at them, restraining most of the troops against walls and the floor one by one. The rest of the team ran to safety, but one of them stumbled and fell to the ground only to be grabbed by Mothra by her jaws, who lifted him and next threw him to a huge web that was on the right side of the chamber, which was inhabited by some big spider. Then a new team came inside, a backup team formed by waterbenders and earthbenders. One of these managed to rescue all the members of the first team that got trapped in silk, the first one that was restrained in the spider's web, which was bad for it while the rest tried to immobilize Mothra by force: one half used their waterbending to grab the caterpillar with some big water whips and tentacles and the other half created some rock cage from the ground below by earthbending to confine her. This really caught Mothra by surprise, probably because she didn't face benders before and didn't expect such elemental abilities. She even felt in panic for a few seconds. It seemed to be a good strategy, but unfortunately it didn't last long as Mothra became more aggressive. She fought to get free by tackling the rock barrier violently with her body, crumbling it down in no time before spitting more silk at the benders until these got all restrained. As he was seeing all the struggle while the alarms got noising everywhere without stopping Sokka realized something strange: Mothra was not trying to finish off those soldiers, she was just defending herself. Standing her ground and putting them out of the fight without harming them with her silk attacks. Even if she got mad that invertebrate Titan had no intention of eliminate them now that they were at her mercy. Definitely that one was not like the Mutos, she was more like Godzilla. Maybe Madison was right after all.

"Well, I get why she's doing that. If I woke up and find hostile guests in my own home I would be mad too." Sokka realized. "I can't blame her."

"Yeah. It makes sense if you think it like that." Suki agreed, seeing what he was referring to.

"No!" Emma exclaimed stopping Mancini on pushing some button that had written 'Terminate' grabbing his hand. Probably prepared to activate some kind of system designed to eliminate the Titan in worst cases, like how it happened back with the male Muto.

"Dr. Russell, I'm sorry. But you know the protocols." Mancini reminded her insisting, even if he didn't want that either. "We have to terminate!"

"I'll handle this." She told before grabbing her briefcase and went to the main entrance that connected to the inside.

"Wait! What are you doing?!" Suki asked in disbelief.

"Mom! No!" Madison said trying to stop her while grabbing her hand, knowing what she planned to do.

"Madison, stay here with Sokka and Suki." Emma ordered, but then Sokka got in front of her blocking her way to the door.

"No, your daughter is right! That creature, Mothra has become like that because your troops provoked her. If we leave her alone and this place she'll calm down and stop her aggressiveness." Sokka explained.

"I know what I'm doing, Sokka. Please get out of the way." Emma insisted.

"No, you don't know that." Sokka insisted too with a serious tone.

"I know how to deal with animals. I made the Orca exactly for this."

"This is not an ordinary animal, and you haven't tested that device until now. You could end infuriating her more and make things worst."

"Please! I just...I need you to trust me on this." Emma pleaded.

Neither Sokka or everybody else was convinced of this plan, but he saw how determined was Emma on her duty and maybe it was no way to convince her to refuse. So he sighed in defeat and nodded at her, deciding to trust her instinct.

"Alright. You trust your instinct, and I know that very well too. We'll trust you." Sokka replied. "But things go the other way around inside there and we enter to get you out."

"Thanks."

As soon as the young Water Tribe warrior stepped aside Emma used her ID card on the door's terminal, which unlocked granting her access so she could open it without problem. Once inside she had to wait for some decontamination measure to proceed.

"Stand clear." A voice warned through a speaker before some decontamination vapor was spread into the chamber where Emma stood.

Meanwhile Mothra, still enraged focused her anger on the giant statues, taking them down easily by merely pushing them. Then she turned around back to the main entrance and saw Emma standing now there, which made the giant lepidopteran larva snarl at her threateningly. Clearly a warning to not get closer, but despite Mothra's intimidation Emma remained calm.

"It's okay." Emma reassured as she walked very slowly toward the Titan, who got her eyes on her.

Seeing that the scientist approached her Mothra hit the bridge with her head softly, shaking it in an attempt to force her to retreat but Emma maintained her balance holding on to the railing before continuing with the approach. Madison stood in front the window, very worried for what could happen to her mother trying to watch everything close with Suki and Sokka at her side alongside the rest of the crew.

"It's okay, Maddie. She's doing good." Suki reassured as she put a comforting hand on Maddie's shoulder.

"Wow. I don't know what you guys think of what she's doing, but for me she's pretty brave." Sokka admitted amazed, making most of the people there to look at him with some funny faces of shock.

Emma continued approaching slowly toward Mothra despite her warning growls and snarls. Even the insect Titan was a little stunned wondering what was that human doing. Once she was close enough Emma crouched before opening her briefcase and taking the Orca out before turning it on. Her purpose was to use the device to calm down Mothra by emitting some frequency with it, like if she could communicate with Titans without words. Of course all that was just theory, time to put it to the test with a real Titan. Mothra stood there without taking her eyes off her but also a little curious of what the female human was doing with such artifact. Once the Orca was fully activated its screen showed the name Monarch. After Emma checked that everything was okay with its systems the screen showed 'Analyzing Specimen Bioacoustics', which meant that Emma was first analyzing Mothra's bioacoustic with the device in order to find the correct frequency to use and appease her. After a few seconds Emma thought she had found it and used the Orca to emitted it as response. Unfortunately it seemed to be the wrong one because Mothra seemed annoyed for this (Maybe she said something bad at her?), which answer was a silk attack that was too close to her and made her squeal.

"No, no, no?! What are you doing, Emma?! You're doing totally wrong!" Sokka shouted while hitting the glass like his girlfriend and Maddie.

"Stop it! You're making her angrier!" Suki yelled too.

"Mom!" Madison yelled, being the most worried of the teenage trio.

Seeing she made a mistake she hurried on turning off the frequency, but Mothra kept spitting silk at her, this time much closer than before and forcing her to dodge and scream again.

"Mom!" Maddie kept yelling scared.

"We got to get in and help her." Sokka informed to his companions. "Maddie, go and cover your mother. Suki and I will distract that bug."

"I don't know if that's a good idea, but I'm with you." Suki agreed while Madison nodded.

"No guys, wait! You should not go inside there. It's too dangerous." Mancini warned, trying to stop them.

"Sorry doctor, but this became also our business since we dealt with the Mutos and the other creatures in the missions Monarch entrusted us with." Sokka insisted serious while taking his ID card. "Besides, is our job as Team Avatar."

"Sounds enough reason to me." Madison added going with them.

"This is not a joke! Get back in here!" Mancini called, but they ignored his warnings so he tried to stop them, but too late.

Sokka used the ID card to unlock the door already and the trio got inside the decontamination chamber quickly before Suki closed the door before Mancini could reach them. As for Emma it seemed that Mothra was gonna strike at her again, but then she received a small but quick hit on her head, startling her...besides of annoying her more.

"Hey you!" Someone called from the exit of the decontamination chamber, being Suki who threw one of her sharp fans at the larva who stood there with Maddie and Sokka, who took out his sword and boomerang. "Pick on someone more challenging!"

Mothra roared at them as response. Now a group of younger humans dared to attack her without warning.

"No! You guys go back!" Emma ordered, but they didn't listened as Maddie went to get her while Sokka and Suki went to confront Mothra, each one going to one side: left and right, in order to make harder for the caterpillar for which one to focus.

"Mom! Let's go!" Madison pleaded to her mother to get up and leave running. "They would not keep her busy too long!"

"No, I can't leave! I can do this!" Emma insisted, refusing to leave her creation behind when she was too close to achieve what she wanted.

Fortunately Mothra was busy searching the two new intruders until she spotted Sokka.

"Hi...little giant bug thing." Sokka saluted frightened, waving lightly with his hands and some goofy smile. "Look, I know you're mad and you've all right to be it. But you're making a huge mess all around here, so if you could please just calm down and…"

And so he was interrupted by Mothra who let out a loud roar at him, forcing him to cover his ears.

"You know what? Forget it. You want this the hard way? Then that's how we'll do it, bug." Sokka said before taking out his weapons again. "Actually I wanted to do this anyway."

But then Sokka screamed before dodging another silk attack fast. Next he threw his boomerang at her, although it was too small to give her some serious damage it was enough to startle her a little and shake her head, meaning that she felt that anyway. Of course that too because this Titan was not one of the biggest so no doubt she felt that hit. Mothra intended to catch him with another shot of silk but she felt another hit from behind, turning around to see Suki who threw another of her fans at her. Mothra tried to immobilize her with more silk but the leader of the Kyoshi Warriors was too fast even for her, dodging her shots over and over again.

"Watch out for the silk! It seems too strong!" Suki warned at Sokka.

"Yeah, I've already deduced that!" Sokka responded. "Just don't let yourself get trapped on that stuff!"

"Go and free the other ones! I'll keep her busy!"

"Alright!"

Sokka ran to help the ones that got trapped with Mothra's silk while Suki distracted the caterpillar Titan as much as she could. Sokka used his black sword to cut through the silk, and surprisingly it became easier than he expected.

"What do you know? My sword can also cut through this stuff better than I thought." Sokka said impressed for himself, remembering that his sword was also able to cut through the metal, like back on the Day of the Black Sun.

Sokka kept setting free the troops of Monarch one by one and guiding them toward the exit. Meanwhile Suki continued provoking Mothra with her throwing fans until she had enough and charged against the teenage girl, but she dodged quickly again and the larva missed, hitting a wall instead. Then Suki took the chance to climb up the larva Titan and hold on over her head, just where Mothra couldn't reach her, so the caterpillar tried to shake her off with force and fast, but Suki had a strong grip on her insect scales and was enduring pretty well. Maybe Suki was doing this because of what she heard from both Ty Lee and Aang; first of what the former circus acrobat and Mai did back on the bridge over Lake Laogai when Godzilla arrived and second of what Aang did with the female Muto when he helped Godzilla against the Mutos back on Ba Sing Se, so she decided to try the same tactic, and for now it looked like it was working In fact, she seemed to enjoy riding the larva.

"Hey, this is kind of fun!" Suki exclaimed holding tight while Mothra kept trying on shaking her off. "Wooohooo! Yeeehahhh!"

"Go Suki! Show that worm what a Kyoshi Warrior is capable of!" Sokka encouraged from below.

That was a scene no one expected to ever see: a Kyoshi Warrior riding a Titan. The people of Monarch couldn't believe it as they looked at each other in disbelief.

"HOW IN THE WORLD SHE DOES THAT?!" Mancini and all the ones inside the control center exclaimed together at the same time.

"Come on! Is that all you got?!" Suki taunted. "You're easier to ride than the Unagi!"

"Aw, that's my girl." Sokka expressed in love, seeing that his girlfriend was more amazing that he believed after freeing the last captive in silk. Then he realized something. "But...Aang managed to ride the Unagi, which was harder than this I think."

"Is she serious?!" Emma asked in disbelief.

"Yeah, it looks that way. I can believe it!" Madison answered with a smiling face. "I knew they were incredible but, I didn't expect this."

"It's not funny, Madison! That will only make it worse."

And Emma was not mistaken on that because Mothra had enough already but she couldn't get rid of Suki no matter how much she tried, so she changed tactic. Mothra focused her bioluminescence and then her whole body shone with high intensity, too much for Suki to handle as she closed her eyes and turned away from the light but because she was on top of her it was impossible, what made her lose balance and then Mothra took the chance to threw her to the ground with a quick move of her head. Fortunately Sokka stood below and caught her, but the impact was too strong that took down both of them while the Titan kept roaring infuriated. The young couple ended nearby where Emma and Madison stood with the Orca.

"Are you guys okay?" Emma asked at them.

"Yeah, more or less. But it still hurts." Sokka told groaning in pain.

Then the group saw Mothra snarling at them again.

"It's really bad that Aang is not here, because we're really gonna need him right now!" Sokka exclaimed alarmed.

"Any ideas?!" Suki asked to Emma alarmed. "We're open to anything!"

"Mom! Hurry!" Madison hurried.

However Emma kept trying using a different frequency but it didn't work. Mothra then seemed to have lost all her patience and become tired of all these attacks and provocation as she began to rise over them while retreating a few meters, just like a snake before launching its attack on a prey.

"Emma! If you're going to do something, better do it now!" Sokka yelled alarmed feeling that Mothra was preparing for charge at them.

Seeing that nothing happened like she expected Emma deduced that no matter what kind of frequency she tried it won't resolve the problem, or maybe because Mothra was not an ordinary Titan, so she decided to use her last, first and original option: her backup plan. She went looking through all the frequencies that the Orca had registered searching for the right one. In that same moment, as Sokka deduced Mothra charged at the group with her jaws full-opened and growling aloud, just when Emma pushed the button for the frequency command before embracing her daughter and turning aside their sight for the worst to happen, the same for Sokka and Suki. But then...just when the gigantic insect was only a few meters from them suddenly she stopped, with her bioluminescence changing back to blue and backing away from them a little. The Titan's behavior instantly turned from aggressive to calmed and docile, as everyone saw.

"What just happened? We're finished already?" Sokka asked with his eyes still closed with his hands, with no idea of the outcome.

"No, we're fine." Suki said surprised as she grabbed Sokka's hands and pulled them back softly to uncover his eyes before looking at Mothra who stood looking at them back but on a different way. "But why?"

Sokka turned his sight at the Orca which screen showed 'Alpha Frequency Found' "You did it. I don't believe it." He said in disbelief to Emma while all them got up slowly.

"I told you." Emma responded relieved. Maybe she even had some doubts lately but not anymore.

"What a magician. She did it." Mancini said shocked and impressed as he and everyone else on the control center saw that they found a better way to interact with the Titans. "It worked."

The frequency Emma used with the Orca at the end was special, one of her making: one that she hoped to be the key for its device and its purpose, and she was right. Mothra looked now curious about the humans in front of her, even friendlier as she slowly approached her head toward them. Madison had some weird but tempting idea on her mind but wanted to give it a try: she stretched her arm and hand as much as she could while her mother held her by the other hand, trying to reach for Mothra's face and touch her, something that the caterpillar seemed to know and even intended to give her such courtesy getting more and more nearer of her, at the point of almost reaching her hand. Emma couldn't avoid to smile touched by such special and heartwarming moment, it was what she had hoped and wanted to see possible all this time: a real proof of a human and Titan positive interaction. It was like a dream come true. The non-bender members of Team Avatar smiled as well, also touched by that scene, realizing that Madison was right about what she told them of the good Titans.

"This...is the most fabulous thing I've ever seen." Suki said, not capable of hold back some tears on her eyes from such special moment. Both her and Sokka.

"Yeah, it really is." Sokka agreed holding hands with her.

Next thing that happened was Mothra giving a big but still soft snorting at Madison and Emma, pushing back the startle daughter back with her mother but in some good way as Madison chuckled as reaction before catching her breath from the impression. Next the colossal larva looked like...she was gonna sneeze. And indeed it was: one big and sticky sneeze, one that fortunately Emma and the teenager girls dodged by crouching. And when Suki, Madison and Emma turned their heads at their backs they saw Sokka trapped on her webbing and him only with a frowned face. The female trio could not contain their giggles at that, which now looked something funny to see.

"Yeah, I should see that coming." Sokka only said, not really shocked of that as he got used to these kinds of things happening to him since long ago. Something similar happened when he and Katara met Aang and Appa the first time. At least this time it wasn't mucus.

"Bless you, girl." Suki said to Mothra before going to free her boyfriend with his sword. The caterpillar looked to be ashamed for that because of the soft chirps she made.

"It's alright, I'm okay. Besides it's just a little silk." Sokka reassured as he got out of the web before turning at Mothra. "No hard feelings. You're really tough for being a silkworm. And...sorry for hitting you with the boomerang and all that."

Mothra seemed to acknowledge as she looked like if she was nodding with her head while Emma looked back at Mancini smiling. But that moment got ruined by some big explosion coming from the entrance to the control center, getting everyone by surprise. Fortunately nobody got seriously hurt, but then each and everyone of the research crew got captured in ice and rocks, clearly a signal that the responsible ones had to be some waterbenders and earthbenders. But why would they do that? Why here and now? And how they get there? Anyway the benders that got inside very fast didn't wear the ordinary outfits from neither the Water Tribes or the Earth Kingdom, so it was improbable that this military force was related with their nations. The intruders knocked out the people of Monarch quickly after imprisoning them with their bending while some firebenders destroyed some of the lab equipment. Mothra stepped back and remained still upright because the commotion. Mancini was the only one still conscious, who watched horrified what was going on there. How managed these raiders to get inside their facility so easily and fast? It has no sense. That facility was supposed to be top secret and with high security in order to prevent cases like this, just like the rest of Monarch's facilities, and yet it happened, but how? As Mancini thought this he saw walking through the explosion smoke an old man from Iroh's age more or less; almost bald, with white hair and a bad face escorted by two goons. Surely the leader of the raiders. He stopped in front of Mancini, who got up scared with his arms lifted and hands open in sign of surrender. Then the man looked at one of his soldiers and pointed at Mancini with his head, ordering him to neutralize the scientist with some waterbending, letting him unconscious like his comrades and crashing the window with some of the ice shards, what made Madison scream scared and her mother closed her eyes with her hand and pulled closer to her hugged. The man stood there looking at the remaining scientist with a frowned face while his troops secured the perimeter with Emma looking at him too in shock, scared and worried. Then the man changed his frowned look to some impressed one when he turned up his gaze at Mothra, who remained still staring at them making some soft chirps, and next to the Orca still active behind mother and daughter: clearly what he and his forces came looking for, something that Sokka suspected already. He and Suki got up fast and prepared themselves for battle the intruders standing in front of Emma and Madison, ready to protect them from the newcomers. The soldiers also got ready to confront the young warriors but their leader gazed at them while rising his right hand, ordering them to not strike.

"Please people. That's no way to treat the heroes that ended the Hundred Year War." The leader told with a profound and serious voice turning his sight back at the teenage warriors. "They're not our prisoners, but our guests."

"Curious words from someone who assaults a place with not caring of inflicting harm on others." Suki pointed with her fans ready.

"And you and your fellas forgot to call first." Sokka added pointing at the leader with his sword. "Now tell us what you want."

"We came...for that." The leader responded looking at the Orca.

"Yeah, very obvious. And I guess you would also want to take Mothra as Titan-sized bonus."

"Or maybe you wanna figure out if you can use it to control her, here and now." Suki deduced.

"Why? Why would we do that?" The leader asked.

"You tell us." Sokka replied.

"What we only want for this beautiful creature here…" The man said pointing at Mothra. "...is her freedom. To choose her own path, without humans or spirits doing anything that could prejudice her, as well the other ones."

His answer left the young couple confused, looking at each other. He and his group not only came to get the Orca and maybe Emma because she was the inventor, but also to free Mothra from Monarch? That was unexpected.

"Me and my people here are grateful to you and your friends for stopping Fire Lord Ozai and ending that dreadful war. But unfortunately...the Avatar's victory was merely the beginning." The man told. "The world needs to be restored to how it really was originally: on its rightful state. That's our mission."

"What are you talking about?" Suki asked.

"We've great plans for the world. Returning it back to their rightful owners. And that thing right there is the key for achieve it." The man said pointing at the Orca. "So...we would feel honored if you join us."

Sokka and Suki were now in a difficult situation. They were outmatched by their opponents and not sure if they could get Emma and Madison out of there by their own means, and more with taking the Orca within...and that without considering Mothra and what she could do in the worst case scenario.

"Sokka, do you have any ideas?" Suki asked whispering.

"Not sure. Honestly I didn't expect this day, and the bug Titan behind us was already enough." Sokka replied whispering too, still analyzing the situation.

So, with all facts in consideration, in the end Sokka realized that there was just one option. One that they were not gonna like.

"I hate to admit this, but they got us."

"What? Are you serious?" Suki said, not believing Sokka's words. One thing she not remembered seen from him was giving up.

"There's nothing we can do here. Our priority now is to keep Emma and Maddie safe from them, but for that we'll have to go with them. If we do it, they'll leave everyone else unharmed. And Mothra will be fine too, she knows how to take care of herself." Sokka explained looking at Mothra, who remained in her place doing nothing but gazing before looking at his girlfriend again. "Besides, sooner or later our friends will know what happened here, and no matter wherever these guys take us they'll come to rescue us all. That's the only way out here."

Suki reflected of what her boyfriend told her and saw how right he was. They had no choice. Besides those guys seemed to value them enough to not get them harmed, almost.

Suki sighed in sorrow. "You're right. We've to do it for Emma and Madison."

The teenage couple looked back at Madison and her mother, still with frightened faces. Next they looked at each other nodding in agreement before turning back at the leader of the attackers.

"Alright. You got us. We'll go with you and your group, for now." Sokka declared in a serious tone. Next he and Suki dropped their weapons and lifted their arms in sign of defeat, but still giving their captors frowned and challenging looks, meaning that wasn't over yet while the old man softly smirked.

Monarch Senate Hearings. Unknown Location.

At the same time, very far from there something else was going on, which was also very important: Monarch's court that everyone talked about. There was some big meeting inside a big meeting room with lots of important and known figures of the four nations, mostly their leaders: Chief Arnook of the Northern Water Tribe, the father of deceased Princess Yue; Chief Hakoda of the Southern Water Tribe, who was accompanied with his second-in-command and best friend Bato; Earth King Kuei; Fire Lord Zuko, who was accompanied by his mother Ursa and his girlfriend Mai and Aang, who was representative of both the Air Nomads and the Air Acolytes. All them were sitting around some big round table alongside some of the high-ranking members of the White Lotus: Former General Iroh, King Bumi, Master Jeong Jeong, Master Pakku and Master Piandao. In front of them were two smaller tables and a large amount of chairs: in the one on the right were Dr. Serizawa and his assistant Dr. Graham alongside Katara, Toph and Ty Lee, while in the one on the left was Admiral William Stenz and some military officers like General How and the rest of the Council of Five. Anyone could feel that there was a lot of pressure in said atmosphere as their conversation subject was a very delicate one and many of the people there felt in many different ways: Some ones thought such meeting could decide what to do best while others thought it wouldn't, being only a waste of valuable time. Some ones were worried about whatever the outcome could lead to while others believed it wouldn't change a thing. Both the little Avatar and the young Fire Lord felt uncomfortable despite being with the other leaders and the White Lotus because their opinion regarding the matter, preferring to be alongside their friends to support their allies of Monarch, but unfortunately their places were already chosen because their titles and roles. Katara also felt uneasy while Toph…well, she looked like not enjoying being there neither because of her frowned face and crossed arms. On both left and right sides of the room were two big screens that showed some recorded videos of Godzilla battling the Mutos and King Kong on his home in Skull Island, back from the time of Mission: Skull, the expedition Monarch made 25 years ago in times of war.

"What we are witnessing here, ladies and gentlemen, is the return of an ancient and forgotten super species. Godzilla, The Mutos, Kong." A man with short brown beard, sideburns and hair called Sam Coleman, a representative of Monarch began explaining to everyone present in the room, being the only one not sat down. "We believe that these "Titans" and others like them provide an essential balance to our world. And while some may pose a threat, Monarch is uniquely prepared to determine which of these Titans are here to threaten us and which of these Titans are here to protect us."

"Thank you for the fifth grade history lesson, Mr. Coleman. But we still haven't heard one good reason why Monarch shouldn't fall under military jurisdiction of the four nations. Or why these creatures shouldn't be exterminated." Master Pakku responded as Coleman went back to his seat. Meanwhile Serizawa and Stenz looked at each other with neutral faces, like if they were rivals before turning back to the court.

"Monarch was tasked with finding and destroying these radioactive monsters. But you either can't or won't tell us how many there are or why they're showing up." Chief Arnook continued.

"That's why much of us believe that maybe it's time for the military forces of the nations to take leadership on your organization or put them down, if it's necessary." Jeong Jeong followed.

Aang didn't like standing there and hearing all this: the masters and allies he met and knew through his journey over the world accusing Monarch like if they had done something horrible, like some criminals. He wanted to protest so badly clenching his fists, but also he had to maintain manners as representative of his people, knowing that he and his friends would have the chance to talk back and defend their allies.

"As I recall, these creatures reduced my palace to rubble and left thousands of citizens of Ba Sing Se injured and homeless, compromising the safety of the capital of the Earth Kingdom that it gained since thousands of years. And I don't see that very protective sincerely." King Kuei pointed.

"Destroying a royal palace and turning it into a nest of oversized grubs? Quite an unusual reform to give to such place." Bumi joked, laughing the crazy way he used to before turning serious. "But serious nothing funny. I would feel the same if my city and citizens were the ones that got attacked and affected just like that."

"Excuse me if I don't seem understanding with your cases, but I think you're declining for the fastest way too soon." Zuko interrupted. "I'm most aware of what happened back on both Ignus Janjira and Amber Island regarding the Titans. I was there with my friends and saw it very closer, but as I remember it was the male Muto the one that caused most of the destruction on the island, which stopped once Godzilla arrived and forced him to fly away. That supports strongly what Mr. Coleman said and Monarch's purpose. It's not about what should be eliminated, but which ones should be."

"Indeed. Killing them would be a mistake. They returned because of us." Serizawa said next with determination. "It was our desire for searching new resources, riches and goods and its severe consequences that awoke both Gojira and the first Shinomura. Other creatures like the Mutos from strip mining and seismic surveys made by the Fire Nation back in the war, which made Muto Prime to return later as well."

"I must agree here with both Fire Lord Zuko and Dr. Serizawa on this matter." Chief Hakoda added. "Some of us here sure remember even today how Kong reacted when the war reached his home…and the consequences it brought with it, back on those younger days. It was our meddling what caused the Skullcrawlers to rise up from underground and threat the rest of the island's wildlife and the human natives, mostly when the alpha awoke and confronted Kong. This is not different from when it comes to enraged spirits: there's always a human factor to triggers it sooner or later."

"But these are not monsters. They are animals rising to reclaim a world that was once theirs."

"It almost sounds like you're protecting them, Dr. Serizawa. As if you admire them." Master Piandao noticed.

"I admire all forms of life." Serizawa affirmed before getting up. "White Lotus, leaders of the four nations, if we hope to survive, we must find ways to coexist with Titans. With Gojira."

"A sort of symbiotic relationship, if you will." Graham supported as his mentor sat back on his seat. "Like the lion and the mouse."

"Or the scorpion and the frog. So you'd want to make Godzilla our pet?" Iroh suggested joking.

"No. We will be his." Serizawa corrected, making most of them to laugh except the military, Bumi the most.

"That's a good one. But still not clear how that is good for us." Bumi answered.

"Uh…No. No, actually." Coleman started a little nervous, trying his best to rectify what Serizawa wanted to mean. "That's not what Dr. Serizawa meant. No one is implying that we would be Godzilla's or anyone's pet."

"Of course not. Maybe I don't know how he thinks, but I'm sure Godzilla doesn't see us that way or on any bad one." Katara defended. "For what Mai and Ty Lee witnessed back on the bridge, he not retalied against the military forces in the lake even if they attacked him first. That shows he's intelligent and doesn't need to cause unnecessary damage."

"Yeah, and the idea of him as humanity's pet? I don't even imagine that becoming real. How could anyone think something so stupid?" Toph said honestly as she was, making Iroh and others to regret of thinking such idea.

"Besides, aren't you forgetting another fact here too to be considered? During all the past years Monarch helped lots of people affected by the war allowing them to get access to food, water, medicines, medical attention and other resources by their own ways." Aang reminded getting up. "Monarch did a lot of good back then, the same as they tried to do today, both for us and the Titans and yet you are here talking like those people do out there, accusing Monarch of something wrong that they haven't done. Like they are our enemy but they're not. And that goes for the Titans too."

Serizawa smiled with his companions seeing the Avatar defending both him, Monarch, Gojira and the Titans, and so their right to live.

"Avatar Aang, we understand these things can be quiet…sensible and concerning for you, but…" Master Pakku said but he was interrupted by the airbender boy who raised his hand as sign to stop.

"I haven't finished yet, Master Pakku. As Serizawa and his colleagues told they are the ones who know more about these creatures than anybody else. They're ancient, that means they were here first and have more right than us to be here. This is their home, just like it's to us. We cannot sort this out just wiping them out. That would be…like what the Fire Nation did with my people, and with the waterbenders from the Southern Water Tribe." Aang said with some sorrow on his tone while he looked at Katara, a feeling that both they knew and shared, with she looking down with her eyes in sadness too.

Suddenly the room got silent with most of them feeling ashamed of their attitude. Aang's words made them realize that maybe they had acted impulsively, that besides that they had no idea what Monarch did for the ones in need during the war while ensuring that no one found nothing regarding the Titans and other creatures they knew.

"The Avatar's right. That's something some of my family lineage would mostly do, like my father and sister, or my predecessors." Zuko recalled. "And surely nobody here wants that."

"We're getting nowhere. It seems there's no way we can agree on this matter for now." Arnook said, with some hardly nodding in agreement.

That moment Graham looked at her personal device, seeing it had a warning signal on its screen. And for her looks it was concerning and with priority.

"We have to go." Graham said to Serizawa showing him the warning, sign that they had to leave immediately. "Girls, we have to go." She said next to Katara and Toph.

"What? Why?" Katara asked.

"We'll explain once we're out."

"Whatever it is better than being here with nonsense arguing. Finally." Toph expressed relieved, stretching out herself before going to the exit alongside Katara while Serizawa and Graham picked their documents and bowed to the court before leaving too.

"Sam, we have to go." Graham told him before signaling Aang and Zuko they have to go with them.

"Dr. Serizawa, Dr. Graham, Master Katara, Master Toph, this hearing is not adjourned." King Kuei warned.

"We're sorry, Your Majesty, but we really need to leave." Katara excused while Zuko said goodbye to his girlfriend, mother and uncle.

"Fire Lord Zuko? Avatar Aang? You two too?" Bumi asked intrigued.

"We hope you all understand the consequences of walking out that door." Master Pakku warned.

"Sorry, it's an emergence. This court is postponed for later." Zuko declared. "Besides, you don't want to question the Avatar's decision standing in his way, right?"

"You understand because of this we could make a decision of our own, right?" Master Jeong Jeong reminded for their sake.

"You have right to do it, and it will be respected." Aang responded in front of the court. "But…before you decide anything without us, ask yourselves this: what will you do if the Titans are gone…and you were wrong?"

Aang and Zuko left them with such uncertainty, what made them worried and unsecured of the decision they could make.

"Maybe some of you won't like it, but the Avatar knows how to talk wisely when someone doesn't expect it." Ursa said.

"Yes. Good question." Iroh agreed caressing his beard thoughtful.

"Uh, you know what, ladies and gentlemen, while I confer with both my colleagues and Team Avatar here, I'm gonna set you up with a very brief and pretty fun documentary on Titan reproduction." Coleman offered putting a video about the male and female Muto on the screens with a remote controller to entertain the court before catching up with the others. "I think this is the one which only shows the courtship. But if not, you can leave a comment with my assistant."

"So, that's what happened back on the city while we were still on the lake?" Ty Lee asked curious pointing at the screen, gaining weird and funny looks from most of the ones there while Mai sighed in embarrassment.

Coleman soon caught up with Aang, Serizawa and the rest on their way toward the exit.

"Well, it could have gone better." Aang expressed, trying to be as positive as he was normally.

"That's the thing of these meetings. You cannot know for sure how everything it's going to be." Katara replied.

"Maybe, but that question you said back there was a good move. It will make most of them think it twice." Zuko complimented.

"You sure have your moments of wisdom, Twinkle Toes." Toph cheered giving him a friendly punch on his shoulder.

"Excuse me! Pardon my intrusion. I think they haven't introduced us because the timing. I'm Sam Coleman, Director of Technology of Monarch." Coleman introduced himself to Aang, Katara, Zuko and Toph shaking their hands. "I'm in charge of overseeing Monarch's vast array of advanced technology and speaking on behalf of Monarch at government meetings like this one. It's a great honor to meet you in person at last."

"Oh, thanks. Nice to meet you too." Katara saluted flattered. "They tell us that very often."

"Yeah. I kinda like that." Toph added shaking his hand without need of looking back.

"It's always good to meet someone of Monarch. In the end you're the good guys." Aang complimented.

"Wish that was true, but fortunately most of us are like you said." Coleman confirmed. "And for us you guys are legends. Meeting you in person is number 1 on the wishlist of our crew."

"I like how that sounds." Toph said smiling.

"So what's that issue, Serizawa?" Zuko asked. "Something serious?"

"Probably. But first we need to find another person. He must know this."

"We'll explain it to you along the way." Graham added as the group arrived to the exit.

Plain/Forest Lands of the Earth Kingdom.

A few hours later, at the beginning of afternoon on some peaceful forest area of the Earth Kingdom with mountains and low clouds that covered some parts of that forest could be heard the barks and growls of a common animal species. In the middle of a grass clearing was a pack a wolves calmly feeding on a deer they hunted, without noticing they were observed by someone who was taking photos on them. A little far from there, leaning on a fallen and bare tree was Mark Russell, the ex-husband of Emma and Madison's father. He was the one taking photos to the wolves while these enjoyed their meal. He also had headphones put on his ears connected to some recording equipment for animal sounds. After taking a few more pictures of the pack Mark stood quietly, closing his eyes while listening to the recordings of the canids. He was doing just what he liked: stand in middle of the natural world and hearing the sounds of some of its pure creatures. Suddenly the wolves detected a suspicious and increasing noise that scared them, making them ran away leaving the remains of their prey behind. Mark noticed both this change on their behavior and the noise too, recognizing such noise and looking up to the sky. Then he saw coming between the clouds a flying mechanized vehicle known as Osprey, which came descending more and more, getting closer to the ground until it landed in front of the man. Mark felt that couldn't be a good sign and whoever came in that transport was surely looking for him. And he wasn't wrong as he saw that the osprey had the Monarch insignia on it and next his old comrades from Monarch Serizawa and Graham alongside Coleman getting out the vehicle and looking at him. Mark didn't seem happy to see them, and then a new growl got his attention, one that he had never heard before. He turned his sight up and saw Appa flying as he came and landed near them with Aang, Katara, Toph, Zuko and Momo riding on him, which left him more shocked and surprised. Now that could only mean something way serious. Later the two mammals stood on the shore of some forest lake drinking water nearby a cabin, which was Mark's new house and where everyone gathered inside to inform him about the incident on Yunnan.

"The feed cuts out there. Everyone assigned there that witnessed it all haven't been able to give us much more then what the footage allows. Only that Emma and Madison were the only ones taken alongside Sokka and Suki." Graham told while showing some images caught by their security cameras of Sokka, Suki, Madison and Emma captures and following the leader of the rogue soldiers out of the temple facility on the screen of some tablet-like tech device.

Mark had no words, feeling very affected by such news as he turned at the same picture of him and his daughter when they went fishing. His family was kidnapped by some hostile group, and it happened without him knowing it. He thought that with the war now over this kind of things was less probable for happened, but it wasn't.

"I'm sorry, Mark." Serizawa said, trying to empathize with him.

"I should've been there for her." Mark responded, blaming himself for what happened to his daughter.

"Even if you were back there, you would probably get captured as well, or hurt." Zuko reassured.

"Madison wouldn't have wanted that." Katara supported. "We children worry about our parents and families as much as you adults do. More than you believe."

"Thanks." Mark thanked as he looked at the young benders a little impressed, even if he didn't look like that. "It seems what people said back on Monarch was true: the Avatar and his group of friends…their brand new allies. I still can't believe it."

"You forgot to mention that we're honorary members of your former co-workers." Toph reminded proud.

"Yeah, that too. Looks like Maddie managed to meet some of you in the end. What she and Andrew dreamed all this time, after hearing from your adventures and travels."

"That's why we came here, Mr. Russell." Aang replied. "We're also worried about Madison, just like we are of Sokka and Suki. We can help each other, so we can save them and bring them back with us, safe and sound."

Mark nodded at the airbender before turning at Serizawa and Graham. "Who are they?"

"We don't know yet." Graham said. "They don't belong to any of the known military forces of the four nations. The footage shows the group was composed by both benders and non-benders. So far we've identified waterbenders, earthbenders…even firebenders among them, but we have no clue of where they come from. We believe they were after this." She said changing the picture of the screen to one of Emma using the Orca, with Mark watching it in disbelief recognizing the device.

"You didn't." Mark said displeased, glaring at Serizawa and Graham.

"What do you mean?" Toph asked confused.

"What's that thing?" Zuko asked, referring to the sonic device.

"It's the ORCA, Your Highness. That's why we think they need Emma." Coleman responded.

"Isn't that what she used back then when we helped Godzilla on his fight against Muto Prime and Shinomura? For confusing the first one?" Katara wondered, as she and Aang knew something more of this from their conversation with Emma back on Air Temple Island.

"Yes, but it wasn't perfected back then. She believed that if we could somehow replicate the biosonar the Titans use to communicate…"

"I know what it is. I helped build the prototype." Mark assured before turning at him. "Who is he?"

"Uh, Sam Coleman. I'm the head of technology. I joined Monarch, uh, shortly after you left. I'm a big fan of your wife's work. And you. That just came out so weird, I'm sorry." Coleman apologized for how weird what he was saying sounded and decided to stop talking.

"Emma and I destroyed the prototype." Mark recalled.

"And then Emma decided to rebuild it, in addition to insisting on doing some…medical tests to Aang here." Graham revealed pulling Aang closer to her. "We don't know yet why she wanted that last."

Katara nodded at this. "That was shortly after Godzilla defeated the two new monsters."

"Great, cause nobody told me nothing of this." Mark affirmed frustrated, as Emma never told him or anyone else either of another prototype or such tests on the Avatar child.

"She had another unfinished model of the Orca on which she began working on in no time. After Ba Sing Se, she prepared to move to Republic City, spent lots of days finishing its developing." Graham continued explaining. "She thought it could help…"

"Would help what? Play God?" Mark said snarling; knowing that meddling with such creatures was a bad idea.

"No. Help prevent another attack." Graham corrected.

"ORCA was a grad school science project." Mark kept insisting. "It was meant to keep whales and other cetaceans away from the shoreline, especially far from Fire Nation waters with all the fighting that was taking place. Not so you could talk to your little creatures out there. Listen to me, they'll think it's one of them: You use the wrong frequency on one of 'em, and you're gonna be responsible for 1.000 Ba Sing Ses."

Aang and his group felt themselves a little uncomfortable and decided to not intervene, seeing how tense the atmosphere was becoming as they realized what Serizawa and Graham told them about Mark was true and why he no longer agreed with Monarch and left it unlike Emma, and maybe another reason why they got separated: She believed it could be a way to understand the Titans while he simply thought it was better to do nothing and leave it be. And if not, it would be better to dispose of them. It sounded reasonably for some of them, but for others, like Aang mostly sounded quiet extreme and nothing alike a naturalist and someone who enjoyed studying animals, and he had a feeling that maybe the two of them were not going to get along well, suspecting what Dr. Russell could think about Godzilla, his Titan ally and friend. In fact, the Avatar kid was starting to not like him, at the contrary of his ex-wife and daughter and began to look at him with a frowned look. Of course the child did his best to not show it, not at such delicate moment.

"Which is why we need to get it back." Serizawa defended. "Emma always said no one knew the ORCA better than you."

"It shouldn't even exist." Mark said before turning at the window behind him.

"That may be, Mark. But it's fallen into the wrong hands." Coleman said next, persevering on making him on seeing things as they turned. "And right now, the ORCA is the only thing keeping Emma and Madison alive, as so for Suki and Sokka."

"They're right, Mr. Russell. This concerns us as much as it does for you, and the last thing we should do is arguing about things already past." Katara supported.

"And not make rash decisions that could put them more in danger." Toph added.

"You need our help and you know it, just like we need you. Arguing about who is or was right and who wrong is not going to save them. Only working together will do." Aang pointed.

"And for that you've to come with us. That's not a suggestion; it's an order, my order. If it had to be it that way, so be it." Zuko declared firmly, making Mark to turn at him surprised as he didn't expect to become like that, but he gave them no choice. "Whatever happened in the past, what's done is done. And it cannot be changed. Believe me, I know it very well." He assured with an emphasizing tone.

"Mark, we know you're hurting. But if we find the ORCA, we'll find them all. I promise." Graham swore.

In the end Mark had to agree with them. There was no point arguing on such debate anymore and something had to be done in order to save both their families and retrieve the Orca from enemy hands. And because Zuko made it a direct order of his he had no choice but to go with his former colleagues and assist them anyway he could. Shortly later, while sunset was beginning the osprey was flying over the sea and followed closely by Team Avatar riding on Appa, headed directly toward the main headquarters of Monarch which secret location seemed to be established on unknown whereabouts in open ocean, very far from known waters of any of the nations and sea routes.

"When was the last time you spoke to Emma?" Graham asked to Mark sat inside the craft.

"About three weeks ago. After Ba Sing Se we planned to buy a new house on the new Republic City and move there, while trying to put the pieces back together." Mark began telling, not happy of remembering those memories. "Emma dealt with it by doubling down on restoring the world from the damaged inflicted by the war, inspired by the efforts of the Avatar and his friends and I started drinking bad tea. I can't tell you how much I hated myself for letting Maddie see me that way." Mark confessed in a frustrated and ashamed tone, feeling that he failed both as husband and as a father. Graham felt bad for him.

"Uh, you mind if we cut in here?" Coleman interrupted coming alongside Serizawa, bringing with him the same tablet-like tech device and gave it to Mark, which had the design plans of the Orca with all its details. "It's just, you're gonna wanna see this. Emma combined the bioacoustics of different Titans to create the ORCA's signal. A sort of baseline frequency that all the creatures respond to." Coleman explained as Mark used his finger on the touch screen and passed to different images of radiographies of the heads of several Titans and their respective biological frequencies recorded.

For the next pictures there was no doubt that Monarch had all of them identified as specimens and designated with names starting mainly with Titanus: Like Titanus Mosura (Mothra), Titanus Rodan, Titanus Gojira (Godzilla), Titanus Methuselah, Titanus Scylla, Titanus Behemoth and Titanus Kong (King Kong). Some of these quite familiar of course.

"Attracting them, repelling them, even at times calming them down. It's pretty remarkable actually." Coleman explained somewhat excited. "We're pretty sure Sokka would be all excited about this, knowing his touch and interest with technology and science."

Mark looked not much impressed before returning his sight back the tablet.

"The problem is we don't know which Titans she combined. But if you can identify those frequencies, we'll be able to track the ORCA and find Emma, Madison, Suki and Sokka." Graham pointed.

Mark got shocked by the number of Titans discovered by now. "My! How many of these things are there?" He asked in disbelief.

"More than 20, and counting after Gojira." Serizawa answered.

"More than 20?"

"Most of them were discovered in deep hibernation. While others, we've contained at top secret sites around the globe. The Earth Kingdom, the Fire Nation, the North and South Pole, Skull Island." Graham continued explaining while Mark passed to another image showing a digital map of the Avatar World and the places where Monarch had the whereabouts of the Titans.

Said map, known as Monarch Titan Containment Sites by title showed the location of each and every Titan already known by them, which were scattered all over the planet: Titanus Mosura (Mothra), Titanus Rodan, Titanus Behemoth, Titanus Scylla, Titanus Methuselah, Titanus Leviathan, Titanus Mokele-Mbembe, Titanus Typhon, Titanus Echidna, Titanus Baphomet, Titanus Sekhmet, Titanus Yamata no Orochi, Titanus Bunyip, Titanus Abaddon, Titanus Quetzalcoatl, Titanus Amhuluk, Titanus Tiamat, Titanus Amon (or Titanus Osiris) and Titanus Nefertiri (or Titanus Isis). It even had the location of Titanus Kong (King Kong) on Skull Island and Titanus Gojira (Godzilla) too, besides of some other site in middle of the ocean with still not official name but with another marine Titan contained.

"We even found one nearby the Southern Air Temple. They're everywhere." Graham concluded.

"Why don't you kill 'em?" Mark questioned.

"Some of the nations' leaders want to, and others don't want it. Like Fire Lord Zuko and the Avatar." Serizawa responded.

"What?" Mark said stunned. "They don't want it?"

"Yes, it's a draw. So nothing can be decided or done." Graham affirmed. "Especially with Aang among the ones supporting us."

"He's against it? Why?"

"His people respected all life. Aang wouldn't take a life if there was no other way. He didn't destroy Fire Lord Ozai when he defeated him on the day of the comet. He just took away his power, leaving him weak and helpless." Serizawa reminded. "Besides, he helped Gojira stop the Mutos. He fought at his side."

"I thought those were just rumors." Mark said.

"Well no, they're not Mark. There were witnesses back then when it happened who saw it and corroborated it." Coleman defended. "Plus several recordings."

"That's why we entrusted him and the others with some unfinished matters of Monarch as special missions to which they volunteered, revealing more than we expected." Graham affirmed. "They also encountered Godzilla a few times, with Aang aiding him again like he did back on Ba Sing Se and next when the event of Shinomura and MUTO Prime. Emma witnessed it. She said that she never saw anything like that."

"Those two seems to make a good team." Coleman complemented.

"Indeed, and they're against anything that could threaten him and others similar." Serizawa reassured. "Emma and I think the same. We believe some are benevolent."

Mark gasped almost in shock at knowing all this. "Don't kid yourself." He warned, making Serizawa to look aside a little sorry, seeing that he was a little stubborn in his personal opinion on such subject.

"I think you and the Avatar aren't going to get along." Coleman deduced.

"What's that for?" Mark asked confused turning at him. "He doesn't know me."

"No, but I think you could have given him some bad impression already. Uh…Hey, look at that. We're here."

Mark, Graham and Coleman got up and walked to the Osprey's cockpit to visualize what the last one meant. First they could only see a bunch of clouds acting like some fog bank that hid their destination, which was spotted shortly after.

Castle Bravo. Monarch Outpost 54. Unknown location in uncharted sea waters, open ocean.

The same went for Team Avatar as most of them finally managed to see Monarch's secret headquarters. It was a huge metal structure in middle of the ocean similar to some industrial exploitation site of some sort. Nothing like what they expected to find. Not disappointed, but neither impressed…for now.

"So that's Monarch's headquarters?" Katara said focusing her sight at the place. "It doesn't look like much."

"How is it?" Toph asked while patting Momo.

"It seems to be some kind of high big platform hanging in middle of the ocean. Honestly, I expected something much more…amazing."

"Well, maybe it has that appearance to avoid any suspicion." Aang opined. "Monarch used to make their secret facilities that way all around the world, remember? And probably everything its different once inside."

"Common knowledge, really." Toph agreed.

"Besides, this place is in middle of nowhere, so it's gotta be the most secret one of Monarch. That makes almost impossible for anyone to know about it or its location. Unless you're with them."

"Yeah. That was very handy and wise, mostly during the war." Zuko added. "I wonder what this headquarters is going to be like."

"Me too. At least I hope they have something to prevent them to get dizzy on that thing." Toph hoped, not sure how that new place was going to be for her.

"Castle Bravo, this is Raptor One. On direct approach." The woman pilot of the Osprey reported through radio. "We come with Team Avatar. Sure everyone is gonna freak out in excitement down there." The pilot added smiling as the craft and Appa approached the landing platform.

"Raptor One, you are cleared for assisted descent to pad four." An officer of the outpost control center instructed by radio. "We'll make sure to prepare a good welcome to our special guests."

"Copy that."

Team Avatar followed the Osprey, which maneuvered flying over the landing platform, turning around and next standing over it a few meters in the air, but it didn't seem of going to land on it, which left the Gaang confused.

"What's going on?" Toph asked.

"I don't know. It doesn't look like it's going to land." Katara observed from above like the rest.

"Then what they're going to do?" Aang asked next.

As answer for the Avatar's question the landing site with a huge H mark opened as some hidden entrance, revealing a secret high tech passage that leaded toward underground, or better said underwater.

"Hum, secret passage. Now that's a surprise." Zuko said watching the secret entrance to the outpost.

"Underwater? Oh, I got a bad feeling about this." Toph expressed worried.

"Sensors set for three meters." Reported the Osprey's pilot. "Beginning sub-surface descent."

Appa grunted nervous feeling that he would probably has to follow the craft into that tunnel, reminding him his bad past experiences going underground or inside caves.

"Hey. It's okay, buddy. This is not like when we were underground. This whole place is made of metal, much stronger and earth and rock. Besides, I'm sure there's a lot of light in there, and that's way better than any cave." Aang reassured, caressing his sky bison friend to calm him down. "Trust me. Everything will be alright. Just don't get too near to the craft's flying blades."

That was enough to convince Appa to fly below the tunnel slowly after the air vehicle while keeping his distance from its spinning blades. As they began descending, the group (except Toph of course) watched a large number of spotlights positioned all around the tunnel. Such detail made Appa a little more comfortable, even when the entrance closed above them. That sight was pretty impressive for the young ones, but nothing compared with what awaited them much further down passed another access like the previous one which began opening the same way. Both the craft and the flying wingless mammal kept descending for a while, meaning that they were no doubly going very deep.

"This is new." Mark said inside the cockpit, as he didn't expect such entrance and way to access forward inside the base and the outpost.

"Yeah, we call it Castle Bravo." Coleman responded before they got sight of the outpost true form, which was way larger inside. "Our new flagship facility, built to track and study Godzilla on his own turf." He revealed.

"I thought he was missing." Mark reminded.

"Well, only if you don't know where to look." Coleman corrected.

And so they were there: Castle Bravo. Monarch's new secret headquarters, named the same as the secret military operation that took place thousands of years ago as attempt to eliminate both Godzilla and the first Shinomura, succeeding in vaporizing the last one and fortunately failing with the other one, because it only gave him more strength but they didn't know it back then. Team Avatar contemplated with their eyes widened and wordless each and every corner of the place in amaze, being all that something really new for them, as if it had come from the future. Everything was so technological, so advanced…and way bigger than it looked at first sight from outside, all built inside a hidden rock formation or underwater mountain. It was nothing like they have ever seen before. No doubt Monarch was way up ahead of that time and era. The young heroes felt themselves a little out of place, but in a good way. The entire complex was composed by multiple facilities, sections, divisions, departments and laboratories everywhere, among many other things. But the most impressive detail of all it was the bodies of several deceased Titans standing on some specific part of the facility, still imposing even in their former glory, brought there surely for scientific research. There stood the carcasses of both the male and female Muto (both her cut head and the rest of the body); alongside the one of Muto Prime, the charred remains of Shinomura, the rotten and almost unrecognizable corpse of an alpha Skullcrawler, which surprisingly was the one who back on its day was Ramarak, who Kong defeated 25 years ago and brought directly from Skull Island alongside the split body of the Kraken in half and the frozen lifeless body of another aquatic Titan, which curiously resembled a mermaid (Titanus Margygr). Shortly the Osprey landed on the highly illuminated landing platform of the hangar from below the tunnel ended with the sky bison next to it and allowing the young benders to get off.

"Wow." That's what Aang, Katara, Toph and Zuko could say amazed.

"This place is huge." Aang expressed.

"I knew Monarch had facilities like nobody else in the world but…I never expect anything like this." Katara admitted.

"Gotta say. When it comes to construction you can get every surprise with Monarch. I give them that credit, because they deserve it." Toph said with arms crossed.

"And with reason. They're the ones who have been making most of Republic City." Zuko added. "But this…this comes to another level, I think. The White Lotus could learn from this."

"Sure, once they realize how much contribution Monarch has made." Aang said.

"Well, what do you think of it?" Coleman said coming from behind, making the group to turn at him. "Pretty impressive, isn't it?"

"You can say that. We barely know what to say." Katara answered.

"Well, I know of someone who would get mind-blowing once he put his eyes on all this." Toph affirmed with a smile on her face.

"Surely. Welcome to Castle Bravo, Team Avatar. Monarch's new top secret headquarters." Coleman introduced as he signaled with his hand toward the main stairs. "This way, if you please."

"Actually, I would feel better finding a place comfortable enough for Appa and Momo to stay here first." Aang requested. "I'm worried that this place could be a little…artificial for them. No offense."

"None taken, and no problem. We've prepared a proper enclosure for them with the best animal cares and covered natural and environment necessities. Everything ensured by our best animal experts and specialists." Coleman assured. "This was requested by Serizawa and Graham."

"No doubt they know you well too." Katara complimented, with her boyfriend nodding at her before walking toward the animals.

"Don't you worry guys, you're gonna be just fine." The little airbender told the animals. "Besides, me and the others are going to be busy with making new action plans, debating stuff and other details while you just sit and relax on your own luxury room. You get to enjoy a lot while we take the boring part, so it's good for you. See you later."

With everything said Appa and Momo were escorted to their acclimatized enclosure by some members of Monarch's crew while Aang reunited with his girlfriend, Zuko and Toph and followed Coleman down the stairs leaving the hangar, being watched by Serizawa and Graham before they left with Mark to escort him by another way.

"Shouldn't we tell them? To Aang and Katara? I think they should know it by now." Graham murmured to Serizawa, referring to some secret, intriguing and crucial matter involving the young couple.

"Once the reunion ends, we'll tell them. It's time they know the truth."

Team Avatar followed Coleman down stairs to a big hall where was a huge gathering of Monarch's crew awaiting for their arrival as the news spread quickly all around the place. Then the heroic group got stunned as they were received with a set of happy applause, cheers, whistling and shouting from the crowd.

"I already told you that you guys were legends here." Coleman reminded.

The only thing the group could do was smile, touched by such warm welcome. They already knew that they were known in Monarch and by much of their crew, and yet they didn't expect to be so acclaimed by these people. And that was a very nice feeling: the feeling of belonging to another special place already by their sincere actions. A feeling that most of them haven't felt since the proclamation of the war's end in Zuko's coronation.

"Okay, I was wrong. I think I'm gonna love being here." Toph rectified about her initial opinion regarding the secret base.

Moments later, the team was walking through the zones connected to the hall accompanied by Coleman, some sort of guided tour, and they were in course toward where the deceased Titans stood.

"You guys have really outdone yourselves with this place. The amount of money, construction equipment and resources you needed to build this base must have been huge!" Katara said impressed.

"I do not know about construction but as the first metalbender I understand how tough it is to deal with such matter. And the fact that you people did all this without that type of bending is pretty remarkable." Toph complimented.

"You said it. Now this is what I call a secret base." Aang supported.

"Thanks. We chose this location precisely because it's in middle of nowhere and way far from the four nations' territories, perfect for our prime base of operations out of everyone's sight. A subaquatic site like this as our primary headquarters also allows us new ways of studying Godzilla in his natural habitat." Coleman explained. That last sentence caught Aang and the others by surprise.

"Godzilla is here?" The Avatar asked curious.

"Oh yes. We located him around here for quite some time. He has a certain like for this marine area, so we decided to stay here to keep our research on him and…protect him from anyone that could be after him by putting both him and this place out of the map."

"And it doesn't worry you that he could retaliate to you, feeling that you may have invaded his turf?" Zuko asked next.

"Sometimes. That's why we have taken extreme precautions and put ourselves too much distance from his most recurrent zones. He had approached us a couple of times but never attacked us in any manner. Regarding only that he's a quite calm neighbor."

"Really?" Katara said softly impressed.

"Yeah. He only attacks if provoked."

"Sounds fair." Toph simply said.

"It's here where we've moved all our top findings and recovered remainings of former specimens for proper closer and further research." Coleman kept telling as they reached the area or section where the bodies of the deceased Titans stood, with lots of scientists making tests of all types on the specimens. "Many here like to call this Castle Bravo's Bestiary."

The group got speechless at the sight they had now of the Titans. They weren't able to observe any of such gigantic creatures at very short distance without fighting them or running away, even if they were already dead.

Zuko whistled in amaze. "Quite a collection of unique specimens you have here."

"Yeah, but I think you also should worry about dealing with such huge decomposition stench problem." Katara complained in disgust covering her nose and mouth for the possible incoming rotting stink, making the rest to do the same as her. Coleman chuckled a little, finding that pretty hilarious.

"We took care of that issue too a while ago so is not gonna be a problem down here." Coleman reassured, making the young ones to uncover their faces.

"So you just bring here all dead Titans you find?" Toph repeated.

"Indeed. Most of them are very recent, and former foes of yours too." Coleman said as everyone looked at the Mutos.

"Unfortunately. I wish there was another way back then but…they left us no choice." Aang said with a little remorse and looking down.

"It was the only way, Aang. It was about our survival." Katara clarified as she put a comforting hand on him. "Besides, it was Godzilla who terminated them."

"Maybe, but I was the one who destroyed the nest."

"If you hadn't done it back then, Ba Sing Se may no longer exist today. As so the rest of the world as we know it." Zuko supported.

"You did the right thing, Aang. Don't torment yourself more about it." Toph encouraged.

"They're right. You saved the world again. You and Godzilla did." Coleman added.

Seeing that everyone supported him on what he did and convinced, the last airbender nodded in agreement before everyone continued forward the next Titan specimens like an exhibition in a museum, which were also two former parasites.

"As you can see, we managed to recover the remains of both Muto Prime and the Shinomura. We're very careful to not put any sample of radiation near it…just in case. Mostly now that we know that exposing a simple cell of the colony to any amount of radiation could probably make the entire supercolonial beast to revive and rise once again, like it did before." Coleman retold as they looked at the charred and inert remains of the winged creature.

"So is it true that thing wasn't just one animal? But a large group of smaller beings what formed Shinomura?" Aang questioned.

"Yes, and it's nothing weird. There are other similar organisms in the animal kingdom, plants or fungus. But this one evolved like any other."

"I recall you guys said that one was the one Godzilla was after thousands of years ago, back when he was discovered the first time and Monarch was founded." Katara recalled.

"According to our historic reports it is, but Shinomura was discovered sometime later on the loose, and causing damaged all around the globe as Godzilla followed it trying to put an end to its rampage. Our people believed it would be too much for the Avatar to handle, so they decided to do it their own way. Of course nobody expect it to return so suddenly. We thought it perished back then, unlike Godzilla."

"Well, not anymore. Our big scaled pal made sure of that." Toph answered.

"What about Muto Prime? It's true that it was related with the first Mutos?" Zuko asked turning at the other headless body.

"That's Emma's theory. Honestly we're not sure if it's real or not, but it would corroborate some aspects of our finding of Godzilla's relative skeleton on the Fire Nation island sixteen years ago and which regrettably caused the incident of Ignus Janjira. That besides of another similar finding on the North Pole, probably another relative of Godzilla or an ancestor, and it was on the same state as the one where we found the Mutos. With all those facts Emma and her team believed that this Titan was the responsible of leaving Godzilla as the last one of his kind."

"That's awful." Katara expressed shocked.

"And something he and I share as well." Aang lamented, knowing that he also became the last of his people because of the ambitions of just one man.

"But hey…you know what?" Toph said, getting everyone's attention. "I'm sure that beast was even more shocked when you got its tentacles cut right on its face!"

That made the group to laugh a little and feel relieved.

"You got that right, Toph!" Aang agreed.

"Well, actually those were its ovipositors but I get the picture." Coleman responded.

"Yeah, that was some good and smart waterbending." Katara congratulated. "I didn't expect it to get so mad for that."

"Now we know why." Zuko said. "But anyway, it deserved that and more."

With everyone feeling a little better the group passed on the next specimen, and that one really got the attention of the team.

"Hey, is that…a Skullcrawler?" Katara asked surprised focusing her sight on the body.

"Seems like one of the big ones. An alpha." Aang swore of recognize. "Like the one we encountered and faced in Skull Island."

"Yes, and not just any one. It's the same one that Kong finished off 25 years ago." Coleman revealed.

"Really?!" The four young benders exclaimed at the same time.

"It's…that one? The one called Ramarak?" Aang said next.

"Well, that's how some of us call it then and now, so it's not official at all, but yes it is. Of course it was this rotten already when we recovered from the island. It wasn't an easy task, unlike this one." Coleman said turning at the body of the dead cephalopod Titan.

"Yeah, that one was more than a hassle, even for Kong." Zuko admitted.

"And how do you call it?" Katara said next.

"Kraken. Titanus Kraken." Coleman responded.

"Sounds like another strong and cool name worthy of a Titan." Toph opined sincerely as always, with Coleman nodding.

"We don't know exactly when it came into the waters of Skull Island, but it had to be very long ago before our first expedition to the island." Coleman told. "Maybe even long before Kong was born. What we know thanks mostly to you and what you witnessed back there is that he clearly was after Kong's place as the king of the island and his domains so badly. Good thing that he didn't have encountered benders before you."

"Yeah. That giant octopus thing shouldn't have been so stubborn. It would have been better for him to go and search for some other place instead of trying to steal a crown and throne not fit for him. But then he chose to become sushi."

"I couldn't say it better myself, Toph." Aang replied.

"And…what about that one?" Katara asked pointing with her hand at mermaid-like creature. "That's new, and a curious one. It's another aquatic Titan?"

"Oh yeah. That's Margygr. We found her in some remote area in the North Pole, but as you can see she was already dead and frozen when we arrived." Coleman explained again.

"She?" Zuko repeated.

"Yes, it's a female, or at least that's what we believe. Some curious fact about this one is that surprisingly resembles a mermaid. Much of its body takes the exact same form of said mythological creature. Oh, and it case any of you haven't ever heard of merpeople, they are basically an aquatic version of humans. Upper body part of a human, lower body part of marine animal, mostly fish. In other words, aquatic humanoids."

"Hum, I don't know if I could imagine that." Toph replied.

"Well, I think they wouldn't like to see this one as a goddess of theirs for how ugly is." Aang said looking at the dead Titan's face. "And what happened to her?"

"Most likely she was killed by another Titan." Coleman answered. "Maybe Godzilla or another one more aggressive and vicious. We don't know."

"Do you imagine how Master Pakku would had reacted if he had found that creature in the North Pole before Monarch, Katara?" Aang asked to Katara with a suspicious smile.

"Oh, I know exactly how it would have been." She said smilingly like him. "He would have freaked out!"

"And then faint!"

"And once he had returned back to the tribe and try telling what he saw, everybody would believe that he was gone crazy by some spirit!"

The couple erupted in laugh ending their joke.

"And you guys think Sokka and I are the weird ones with the jokes. I'll make sure to tell him once we rescue him and the others." Toph provoked.

"Wait, no! Don't tell him! He would tell everything to Pakku! Please whatever you do don't say a word!" Katara pleaded putting her hands together and bowing to her.

"Hey guys, I would like to hear more about your jokes and stuff but we should gather with everybody else in the meeting room. The reunion is going to start in a few minutes." Coleman advised and pointing at his watch as sign of not going there too late. "If you please, this way."

The entire group nodded at him before following him toward the meeting room where the most important members of the organization, both scientific and military crew were already gathered sat around a large table of glass. Aang and his friends decided to sit alongside Serizawa and Graham as she stood up and began informing the breaking news to everyone present there.

"As you know, at approximately 07:00 hours our containment site in Yunnan Rainforest on the Earth Kingdom was raided." Graham reported as she pointed with a remote controller to a big screen showing Monarch's emblem behind her and changed it to some footage or video recording of the region from above while everyone there listened quietly and with close attention. "The specimen, code name Mothra, escaped. Only to cocoon itself later under a nearby waterfall." She told as she put on the screen a video recording of Mothra already free and showing her head through a waterfall of the rainforest region as she roared to a couple of choppers from Monarch that had her on their sight. "While Dr. Emma Russell, her daughter Madison and two of our honorary members of Team Avatar: Sokka and Suki were taken hostage." Graham changed to a profile of Emma on the left side of the screen, a picture of Sokka and Suki fighting at the bottom and a recreation of Mothra's cocoon at the right. "This is the man responsible, Alan Jonah. A former Fire Nation army colonel and spy agent turned ecoterrorist. Obsessed with restoring natural order as way of make up for his past outrageous actions at the war." Next she passed to a former profile of Alan Jonah back when he served the Fire Nation army, known back then with a different name and some pictures of him when he rebelled against his former superiors and began acting on his own alongside his mercenaries and some of his activities. "And to fund his operations, he recently began trafficking in a new and dangerous market. Titan DNA."

"D-N- what?" Katara recalled confused.

"You lost me too." Toph added confused as well.

"What's that?" Zuko asked.

"The acronym of deoxyribonucleic acid. The building blocks of all living beings. Not only Titans, but every species, including ours." Coleman explained. "That's how we refer to genes."

"Ah." Aang, Katara, Zuko and Toph said together, with now the subject clearer.

"What is someone gonna do with a giant worm?" A young man asked, one of the militaries of there.

"Are you kidding, Martinez? What can't you do with it? Pharmaceuticals, bioweapons, food…" Another man answered looking at the screen still with the 3D cocoon picture, one with glasses and short white hair who looked a little skeptical by his voice. "Man, there isn't a country or a company on the planet that doesn't wanna get its hands on one of these things in case they knew of them and everything they could achieve with. And remember, this is just a larva. That's a baby. After it cocoons, something else is gonna crawl out. Something bigger, meaner-"

"We don't know that, Rick." A woman with short black hair responded calmly at him.

"Oh, yeah? Just wait for it, Chen." Rick replied at her before taking a sip from his cup of tea, as Chen rolled her eyes a little annoyed.

"Maybe she's right. That new creature doesn't seem to be like the Mutos." Aang said sharing his opinion, getting everyone's attention. "Besides moths and butterflies are very nice animals, mostly when they're adults, so once Mothra emerges from its chrysalis it'll choose to stay on a place comfortable without causing trouble to others." That left the man called Rick stunned with widened eyes and Chen smiling at Aang's criteria.

"A giant butterfly? That sounds pretty ridiculous to me." Toph opined.

"Ridiculous or not our intel indicates that Jonah wants to capture this specimen. Alive. Which means that he and his mercs won't be far behind." A dark-skinned and bold military woman said next. "At 05:00, we'll ship out to launch a joint operation-"

"I wouldn't bother." Mark interrupted.

"Excuse me?"

"Sounds like a duck hunt to me."

"Uh, Mark, why don't we let Colonel Foster finish-" Coleman said, seeing a possible awkward situation incoming and trying to prevent it.

"A decoy. A diversion." Mark continued getting up. "Look, they've already got Emma and the ORCA. Why would they want just this one when they've got the keys to your entire magic kingdom of horrors back here?" Mark questioned pointing at another screen showing the containment sites of the known Titans. "I think that they want you to go after this Mothra, so they can go after a real prize. Something bigger." He declared convinced.

"Right." Foster said not very convinced.

Aang tried his best to maintain formalities, but deep inside him said speech of Dr. Russell was getting on his nerves once again. No doubt Mark was becoming Monarch's less favorite member for the Avatar, and Katara sensed that. She couldn't see it, but something inside her told that. Besides, she was also containing herself to not look at Mark with sharp eyes, as well Toph and Zuko, but it was harder than expected.

"Mark, this is not the first specimen they've captured. They know what they are doing." Serizawa warned.

"That's not just a specimen." Mark complained annoyed. "I've got an ex-wife and a daughter out there, in case you forgot."

"No. No one has forgotten that, Mark, but, uh, to remind you, you were brought on here to help track the ORCA, and to advise us-" Coleman tried to remind him and calm things down, attempting to put some order in the room.

"I advise you to kill these things. All of 'em. Especially him." Mark insisted pointing at the same screen now with an ancient picture of Godzilla rising from the water. "You wanna make sure these things don't fall into the wrong hands? You kill them and the ORCA's useless."

Much of the ones present there of Monarch's crew didn't want to hear what Mark kept saying or were getting tired of it.

"Emma wouldn't have wanted that. Even to save her life." Chen protested calmly.

"Well, it wouldn't be the first time Emma put all of this before herself or her family, wouldn't it?" Mark reproached, but it was then when the last airbender exploded.

"ENOUGH!" Aang shouted furious while hitting the table with his fists and getting up, shocking everyone around except his friends, who looked mad too with certain complaining doctor. "Unlike you Emma dedicated herself working into something bigger and worthy for a greater good, always knowing which risks such task would mean but keeping up with it, just like everybody here! Besides, I do not condone the termination of any defenseless and innocent lifeform."

"I'm only trying to say that…"

"NO! I'm tired of hearing you complaining and being unhelpful!" Aang exclaimed pointing at him. "I'm tired of hearing you accusing our friend of something he's not responsible of, just like all those groups we had to put a stop on before! Let me make this clear: anyone who tries to do any harm to Godzilla and or any innocent creature like him will have to deal with me first." The Avatar warned very seriously, sounding almost like a threat. "He's under my protection."

"Watch out, people. Aang's warnings are more than real." Toph supported grinning.

"Don't forget, Dr. Russell that's not only your family who were taken away!" Katara reminded. "So don't think this matter goes around you, and neither you make here the decisions for everyone!"

"You would do well thinking better what you're going to say and watch your tone, doctor." Zuko warned coldly. "I'm not going to tolerate such behavior of yours, especially regarding of doing something that only my father and predecessors would do. If you're not going to help us you're free to go back right where we found you. Have we made ourselves clear?"

The words of Team Avatar left everyone speechless, nervous and intimidated as they glared sharply at Mark and the atmosphere became really tense, mostly at the risk of the possibility of Aang using the Avatar State without hesitation. Something improbable, but seeing how mad he became with just Dr. Russell's comments a few ones had said thought. Mark was the most intimidated of them all seeing the young ones glaring at him that sharply, forcing him to return to his chair. The last thing he wanted to do was making himself enemy of the Avatar and his companions.

"I see." Mark softly said only, feeling himself embarrassed and regretful as he couldn't look back at the airbender boy and his own. He felt that he got carried away and said too much or something he shouldn't, like if he was the bad guy. "Sorry if I offended you, Avatar. All of you. It wasn't my intention." Mark apologized to them. "If you excuse me, I…I think I'm going to take a look around and…clear my mind."

"Yes, you better leave for now." Katara affirmed.

"Alright."

And so Mark got up and left the room in silence with Aang and the others still glaring at him until he left completely. Serizawa closed his eyes and denied with his head softly in disappointment of what happened. He knew Aang wasn't the one to blame, as he did right on defending Godzilla and getting mad at Mark for what he said. In fact, his child protégé said sincerely the same thing he felt inside but couldn't express like he wanted, it wouldn't have been very formal for him. Anyway the room still remained a little awkward. With everything clear Aang sighed somewhat discouraged as Katara put a comforting hand on his shoulder, enough to make him put out a soft smile on both their faces.

"What's wrong with him?" Katara asked, seeing that Mark was gone.

"He hates Titans." A military man with black beard and moustache said.

"Yeah, well, you would too, if you were him." Coleman replied.

"But why? What does he have against Godzilla?" Aang asked next.

Serizawa sighed before turning at the little airbender. "You recall of what we told you that his family lived before in Ba Sing Se and they were there when the fight happened?" The four benders nodded at him as response. "Mark and Emma lost Andrew that day, and he blames Gojira for that."

"What? That's not true! He wasn't the one that attacked the city, he saved it." Aang recalled. "We were there."

"We know. We tried to tell it to Mark many times but…he wouldn't listen." Graham responded. "Neither when was Emma the one who told him."

"He's blinded by hate, anger and resentment." Serizawa added. "Revenge is what he desires regarding Gojira and the rest of the Titans."

"Ugh, yeah. I know that feeling." Katara said sad holding her arm while turning her head aside and looking down, remembering that she once almost walked down that path before, and so did Jet. "But that won't help him anyway. It won't bring his son back to life."

"And terminate the Titans wouldn't be any different from…what my great grandfather did with Aang's people back on his day." Zuko added in shame too.

"We know. That's why we decided to contain them, until we can figure out which ones are really threats for both us and the world, like the ones you fought assisting Gojira." Serizawa said.

"Well, why don't we focus on something else to leave this unfortunate incident behind?" Coleman proposed to lighten things up. "Team Avatar, here I introduce you our top scientific members of Castle Bravo. These are Dr. Rick Stanton, Monarch's crypto-sonographer and Dr. Ilene Chen, our senior mythographer." Coleman introduced, with Stanton nodding at the group and Chen saluting them with her hand smiling. "Stanton oversaw all of Monarch's tracking systems before being assigned here. His job is to tune into the sounds given off by the Titans around the world and use them to predict behaviors and movements and issue early warnings to the organization."

"Indeed I do, and I record all of these sounds and catalog them in Monarch's Titan audio forensics database dubbed "the Ark." Yeah, no joking." Stanton said before taking another sip from his cup. "Oh, and also a fan of your uncle's tea, Fire Lord."

That made Zuko chuckle. "Yeah, I can guess that."

"And Dr. Chen here studies hidden ancient mythology in order to make new discoveries about the Titans from an ancient and forgotten time when they once walked the Earth alongside humanity. She is third-generation member of Monarch." Coleman told next.

"Wow, really?" Aang said excited, as that got his interest for real.

"Yes. Well, I explore the ancient tales, folklore, legends and myths regarding monsters and dragons which surprisingly much of the Titans we found are related somehow. All said findings indicate that Titans were known from long ago and left their mark on ancient human civilizations from another time." Chen revealed. "Vestiges of a bygone era, even much before the age before the Avatar."

"Even Godzilla?"

"Yes, even Godzilla."

"Wow, that's amazing." Katara complimented.

"It's an honor to meet you both." Aang said shaking his hand with both scientists and bowing at them, with Chen returning the bow.

"The honor and pleasure is ours, heroes of the four nations." Chen replied.

"And these are Colonel Diane Foster, Chief Warrant Officer Jackson Barnes, Staff Sergeant Anthony Martinez, and First Lieutenant Lauren Griffin." Coleman said introducing the military members of there. "They are the main veterans of the G-Team for now."

"G-Team? What's that?" Toph asked curious.

"Our new military branch. Shortly after the Ba Sing Se incident Monarch established it in addition to our scientific operations to be prepared to defend humanity from Titans and other superspecies by force if necessary. The G-Team recruits from the militaries of member nations that contribute to it and is currently led by our esteemed Colonel Foster here, who was formerly an instructor from the military branch of Ba Sing Se and served under General How and the Council of Five."

"I heard what you did back then on the capital city against that treacherous rat of Long Feng and his followers of the unworthy Dai Li. As a former member of the forces that had the mission to protect the city and its inhabitants I'm deep indebted to you, and for that you also have my eternal thanks." Foster expressed in gratitude bowing to them. "It's a real honor to be on your presence."

"Well, we just did what it had to be done in order to make the Earth King realize what was going on behind his back. But yes, you're welcome." Katara thanked.

"And it was satisfying seeing Long Feng what he deserved. That's the best part of your job." Toph added happy. "And besides the Earth King and his bear I don't recall anyone from military thanking us for teaching a lesson or two."

"We're glad to have you here on Castle Bravo, Team Avatar. We're eager for this day to come." Barnes expressed.

"You were expecting us to arrive here?" Katara asked.

"Oh yeah, since we heard of your victory on the day of Sozin's Comet and your roles on the Mutos' crisis." Martinez assured.

"Meanwhile we've been following and watching your new incursions here at base." Griffin said.

"Following us?" Zuko said confused.

"Watching us?" Toph said confused too.

"Sam, care to put some of the videos?" Foster requested to Coleman, who used the remote controller to put something on the main screen that the Gaang didn't expect to see: A compilation of recorded videos of the times when they engaged the diverse superspecies and Titans on the secret missions assigned by Monarch, alongside their battles against the new Skull Devil and the Kraken aiding King Kong back on Skull Island aside from some rumbles they had with the rest of wildlife of the island and of course the one helping Godzilla versus Muto Prime and Shinomura.

"Hey, that's us when we…" Aang recognized.

"The high-ranking members here trusted you with these special secret ops and wanted us to respect both their decision and your capacity for succeeding in the field, although we were worried of unexpected events to happen. So we decided to send some of our surveillance drones in order to know if you would end requiring some assistance from us." Foster explained. "Fortunately it wasn't necessary as your fame precedes you, so instead it served as a…impressive field recompilation for our experts to research, and the favorite entertainment medium of our team."

"Ah, really?" Katara said stunned.

"Yeah, we had our favorite moments on these. We call the show…Team Avatar vs. the Titans." Martinez proclaimed in a way to make it sound epic and cool, making his teammates to laugh at it.

"Wow, sounds good. I kinda like it." Toph said smiling.

"Yeah, me too." Aang supported.

"Sokka would love that." Katara guessed.

"Indeed. We're wondering the best moment to show it to you once you arrived here with us, but…of course it would have been better if it wasn't on a time like this and with the entire team of course." Chen lamented.

"Guess you have all our encounters on your special show." Zuko deduced.

"Almost every one. We couldn't follow you where you encountered the Ion Dragon back then." Coleman answered. "Although it was more than enough for make some ones of G-Team wonder which Titan would be the next one you would face."

"They even thought about making the odd bet. We couldn't avoid it." Foster admitted, even if she didn't want it as that made her a little embarrassed.

"Speaking of which, how many new Titans have you found by now?" Aang wondered. "I wanted to ask you this after the court and almost forgot it."

"Well Aang, we found a great number of them all around the planet." Graham answered pointing at the other big screen which showed the map where the hibernated Titans and their containment sites were located. "Until now the discovered ones goes to more than 20."

That made Katara spit out the water she was drinking from her glass and cough a little, with Aang tapping her on the back to help her recover. "What?! More than 20?!" She repeated in disbelief.

"And counting after Gojira. Not counting those that are yet to be discovered." Serizawa added. "We believe it could be more, many more of them."

"I…don't believe it." Zuko said stunned.

"Well, that's harsh reality, team. Welcome to a new world of gods and monsters." Stanton proclaimed before taking another sip from his cup.

The young benders got wordless of knowing such shocking revelation: there were a lot of Titans everywhere in slumber and nobody was aware of that except Monarch, although many assumed it already. As if dealing with the Mutos wasn't bad enough, not talking about the Skullcrawlers, the Kraken, Shinomura, Muto Prime and the other creatures, but all became just a prelude of what was yet to come, just like Aang believed. What else the world would have to deal with if any of these new Titans manage to wake up and roam free? Would Aang and his friends be really prepared this time with Monarch on their side? Or it would happen just the same as with the Mutos or even worse? One way or another there was only one thing clear: the world would never be the same. And more than one could feel that the world was entering a new era, and not exactly the one everyone expected. Despite that truth, Aang couldn't hide his amazement for that place and either couldn't wait to explore each and every corner of Castle Bravo base. Especially if that allowed him to spend more time with Serizawa and Graham, something that he was eager to do. That included the chance of them sharing with him any new knowledge regarding his Titan counterpart, ally and friend Gojira. As something unaware for many of the ones that knew him that became one of the new goals for Aang: to learn as much as he could about Godzilla, in order to understand him, his history and role in the world of him and his kind. And…a way to forge a path for the future for both the world of the nations and the Titans. It could sound like an ambitious goal for some ones and impossible to reach, but it was a start, and such desire had a good purpose, planned for a greater good as well. After the reunion ended Aang was on another room near the previous one alongside Dr. Chen with whom he engaged in conversation.

"I still can't believe the work you have done here. It's not like the Air Temples that's for sure, but I gotta admit it's an achievement for you guys." Aang complimented sat in front of Chen. "Not even the monks could make something so sophisticated like this."

Chen chuckled at hearing this, who was sitting near her work table and computer. "Thanks for the compliment, Aang. I heard that you guys have made a new air temple on your island near where Republic City is to stand. That will make 5 temples in total."

"Yeah. You can say that. We also didn't expect to have such warm welcoming here."

"You liked your surprise welcoming reception?"

"Yeah, it was kinda heartwarming. We've been well received in many places around the world and by lots of people in our quest for balance, but this one is…kind of special."

"I see. Truth is most of us here were eager to meet you anyway after hearing so much of you from Serizawa and Graham, especially me and my twin sister Ling."

"Oh, your sister is here too? Where?" Aang asked looking around. "I didn't see her back on the reunion, or anyone that may resemble you."

That made Chen chuckle a little. "No, she's not here. She's on Yunnan with her team securing our raided facility in case some of Jonah's crew dared to return, and to check on Mothra and her developing within her cocoon."

"Oh, alright. That sounds good too."

"I've also heard that you seem to be in good terms with Godzilla."

"Yeah, well…he has proved to be a great ally…and a good friend." Aang said with all sincerity. "I owe him my life a couple of times, and being found by Katara and Sokka back in the South Pole."

"So I guess all rumors are true. I believe you and Mothra could also get along very well. After all, you and she share a lot in common too." Chen deduced.

"What do you mean?" Aang asked with a raised eyebrow confused.

"According to our current files and gathered data, the figure of Mothra and others similar to her appear in ancient folklore and fairy tales from across the world from another time. Her original name, Mosura means "giver of life" as how she was known back on her original and most ancient worshipped native place, which is the same remote island from where me and my sister come from." Chen explained as she did some clicking on her computer and showed diverse pictures of ancient cave paintings showing Mothra and other giant butterfly/moth-like creatures in the sky with crowds of humans in the ground bowing to them. "She was part of a lineage of benevolent lepidopteran Titans that defended the natural world in said ancient past and were revered as gods and goddesses by ancient forgotten human civilizations. In the end Mothra became the last of her kind, but also the most remarkable of them all, just like Godzilla. In fact, it was told that she had conquered death, literally as she achieved the ability of reincarnation by passing all her memories and experiences to a successor, born from an egg that she lays previously. Some special sort of genetic memory."

"Wow! That's amazing!" Aang responded excited and impressed by such revelation, meaning that there was a Titan similar to the Avatar on such matter. "It sounds just like the Avatar, passing to the next one reincarnated in the cycle in order to continue with its duty. I guess nature did it first with those Titans. Feels good to know that, and now I'm more convinced that Mothra is mostly on our side too, and so for the world, living beings and spirits."

"Well, I'm not sure about spirits since they are not from this world. What I'm sure about is this." Chen said as she changed to another picture in the monitor, one that got Aang's attention immediately as that cave painting showed Mothra alongside a group of ancient human warriors and a recognizable dinosaurian Titan while standing against another Titan. "Yes it is. We also have proof that Godzilla and Mothra were allies in the distant past, and surely they still are. It seems that these two Titans shared some sort of symbiotic relationship, aiding each other battling other destructive Titans together."

"Yeah, I can imagine that. Just like he and I did back in Ba Sing Se."

"Yeah, obviously not coincidence."

"And you know what? That's good. It means that…even after all that time being all on his own Godzilla was never truly alone. It's good to know that there's always someone you can rely on. Anytime, anywhere." Aang added as it reminded him of certain waterbender girl that had stayed by him since the beginning of his new life after a century of wandering hibernation and never left him, no matter what happened back then during such hard moments of his.

That made Chen smile as well. "You know? I've something else that could be of interest to you." Chen told the little air nomad, earning his interest and curiosity as she did more clicking on her computer and showed some different pictures of more ancient cave paintings. "Monarch have had some recorded top secret info about the origins of the Avatar from quite some time, and we're pretty aware of the history of your first predecessor, Avatar Wan. But that's not the most notable fact of said research and its successive findings."

The ancient drawings showed two strange ethereal figures floating in the sky face to face; one with white body and blue marks and the other with black body and red marks, said ones now familiar for the air Avatar.

Aang gasped in surprise as he realized which or who those were. "Wait! Are those…?"

"Yes, Raava and Vaatu." Chen confirmed. "But these drawings are more ancient, much more than when Wan met them. And I believe that I managed to decipher some unknown chapter of them. An untold story long before regarding the birth of the first Avatar."

"No way. You did that?" Aang said impressed, with Chen nodding at him.

"It seems that at some point in the distant past, in middle of one of the clashes of the alpha spirits…" Chen narrated while passing to some other pictures of more ancient forgotten cave paintings: one of Vaatu and Raava firing their energy beams (Vaatu's being dark purple and the bright yellow one of Raava) at their opponent from their diamond-like eyes and other of Raava on the ground defeated and Vaatu standing over her in the sky triumphant and superior. "Vaatu managed to have the upper hand over Raava and seemed that the balance of power was going to shift in his favor. But then…something unexpected happened." Chen passed to the next couple of wall drawings: the first stone illustration showed Vaatu hit by a neon blue energy beam while Raava watched still on the ground and the next one showed a giant animal standing next to Raava and over Vaatu while roaring at him, who seemed hurt, weak, dwarfed and trembling of fear on the floor by the creature's imposing might: a Titan. And surprisingly such Titan was none other but the same dinosaur that saved Aang before his trip in the Fire Nation hidden and fought with him side-by-side on Ba Sing Se against his ancient natural enemies. "Vaatu was attacked without prior notice and harmed by a power greater than his own and unknown both for him and Raava: the power of a prehistoric god of nature and balance."

"Godzilla." Aang answered softly, impressed by such revelation.

"Yes, he interceded for her." Chen added. "It seems the force of his energy beam was so powerful that left the mighty spirit of darkness weaker than he had ever been in all his existence, and surprisingly that frightened Vaatu to death, that alongside the first impression he had of the colossal apex predator, which allowed Raava to be the superior one again."

"Was it that bad for him?" Aang asked stunned, as he knew no thing or creature that could scare the Avatar's original foe.

"It seems that way. In fact, it was said that if Vaatu was destroyed by Godzilla's power, he would no longer be able to return reincarnated from Raava with his cycle broken by a power superior than his…and he would be erased from existence forever."

"What?! Really?!" Aang exclaimed, both surprised and shocked. "He could be eliminated once and for all just like that…by him?!"

"Well, according to these paintings ancient texts engraved in stone it looks to be the case." Chen said before passing to the last pictures of cave drawings recorded regarding the story: the first one showed both Godzilla and Raava watching Vaatu retreating from there by flying weakly as the alpha predator roared at him again. The second one was a representation of Raava bowing to the giant dinosaur in sign of deep respect and gratitude. On the third one it could be seen Godzilla watching Raava flying away pursuing her rival, while in the fourth image she catched up with Vaatu and fired another beam of hers to him from above, and in the fifth and final illustration Raava had Vaatu restrained with her tentacles, imprisoning him. "Anyway. After that, intimidated by the imposing almighty Titan and seeing himself nearly the doors of eternal demise for the very first time Vaatu hurried to leave and get far from there as far and fast as he could. Indebted to the great newcomer with her own existence, Raava bowed to her savior in eternal gratitude before reassuming her own quest for balance. In the end she managed to reach Vaatu, sooner than she expected and capture him, preventing him to do any harm with his energy by contrasting it with her own." Chen said, ending the tale.

"Wow. Unbelievable." Aang could only say.

"Yeah, I know. Even with all these proofs it's still hard to believe such a thing. But…why don't you try asking her about it yourself?" Chen proposed to the young airbender, who nodded in agreement.

"Is…is any of this like how she told? Did it really happen?" Aang asked as he looked at his torso, probably talking to Raava.

"Yes, it is. Let's say he's quite an old friend of mine. All this was a secret that I kept to myself from long ago, so that's why no one of your predecessors had knowledge of it." Raava confirmed as her blue marks appeared shining on Aang's torso, which almost made Chen jump from her chair startled not expecting that in front of her eyes.

"Oh, I see. So…I guess that explains everything." Aang replied feeling himself a little down, even if he still had a smile on his face. "He knew it was you since the beginning, right?"

"No! It's not like that." Raava corrected. "It's true that Godzilla recognized me, feeling me and my energy within yourself, but it was you who got his attention. Every interaction he did was because of you."

"Hum?"

"You and he have so much in common. Avatars were a lot, and so were airbenders and the members of his kind, but you are the most notable of them all. Both you and Godzilla. That's what he saw on you, Aang: an equal to himself on human. Just like Serizawa said. Both of you match with each other."

"Thanks, Raava." Aang thanked, feeling more encouraged while caressing his torso where the marks stood before disappearing. "I think you were right after all, Dr. Chen." The little boy said turning at Chen.

"Glad to know, although I didn't expect it to be confirmed by the spirit of light herself." Chen admitted, still a little surprised. "Well, I think this means an update on my report on the historical record."

"Glad of being of help to you, professor."

"You're welcome Aang, and I cannot wait to rub it in Rick's face. That's a moment that I'm gonna enjoy for real." Chen declared.

"Hum, I thought you two were coworkers."

"Indeed, but sometimes it's too hard to endure his peculiar sense of vision."

That last phrase of Chen made her and Aang to share some laughs.

"Just please, don't tell him that I said this." Chen pleaded.

"Don't worry. My lips are sealed." Aang swore doing like closing his lips with zipper with his hand.

Aang stood looking at the monitor to the picture of the ancient cave painting of Godzilla wondering what else in the past could be connected with him. He just discovered that Raava and he met very long ago before the Age of the Avatar began, so…what could else have him bonded with said Titan? What others secrets could be hidden around him and his kind? Which other hidden chapters would the world only know by now? So many new questions gathering inside the Avatar's curious mind and only could wait there for their respective answers to be revealed. Shortly later, Coleman and Stanton were walking through some corridor with Katara following them. It was like if they were escorting her to some place, which was the case.

"So you wanted me to go with you to some section of here, but you still didn't tell me why." Katara said to the scientists, wondering what could be what they wanted to show her.

"Serizawa and Graham's orders. They wanted us to bring you to one of the G-Team's top sections." Stanton responded without looking back.

"Yeah, we wanted to show it to both you and your brother as you two come from the Southern Water Tribe, but it has not been possible due to the current circumstances." Coleman added. "So they said we'll still do it with you anyway."

"What do you mean with that?" Katara asked intrigued, raising an eyebrow.

"As we told you and the others our G-Team forces are normally recruited from military forces of the four nations, both benders and non-benders. That includes those from the Water Tribes." Coleman said as they reached one huge entrance that had the Water Tribe emblem on it.

"Sure. Which means you guys have some ones from the Northern Water Tribe."

"I think you got it wrong, girl." Stanton rectified while turning at her while Coleman unlocked the door by getting his ID card in front of some scanner. "We didn't say it was just from the northern tribe."

That answer left Katara more intrigued while they saw the huge door opening, showing the way to a huge chamber inside. That alone was very impressive for the teenage waterbending girl, including how the door opened, but what was inside the chamber became truly unexpected for her. After going through the passage and entering the main huge room Katara stood wordless and with eyes widened in shock and astonishment of what she had in front of her looking from above the observation deck that lead to the entrance: the entire room was decorated with lots of ornaments, leathers and other architectural objects, items and details typical of her tribe. Every corner and part of the chamber was definitely from the Southern Water Tribe, but in high-advanced technological metal soil, without snow or ice and with Monarch's emblem alongside the one of the Water Tribe too. The room was full of warriors and crew from the tribe that now were part of Monarch's new military forces, including some type that the last waterbender of the southern tribe didn't expect to find there: waterbenders!

"I…don't believe it. Waterbenders, more waterbenders!" Katara said in disbelief as she, Coleman and Stanton saw them training in formation from above. "But how? I thought I was the last waterbender. That all the other waterbenders from my tribe were taken away by the Fire Nation." She recalled turning at the scientists.

"Yeah, that's what we wanted everyone to believe. Especially the Fire Nation." Stanton answered. "But as always that was just one side of the story."

"Back in its day, at the time when the Fire Nation made their incursions at the Southern Water Tribe and captured all waterbenders, one after another, our infiltrated agents kept a close eye on it." Coleman explained. "Once they learned where they were kept prisoners, they took the place of the troops assigned there and took them out one by one discreetly, assuring no one would know of it."

"What? Really?!" Katara said smiling, top excited.

"Yeah. And because we rescued them they felt indebted to us and decided to join us. The only inconvenience was that in order to ensure their safety the world would have to believe that there wasn't any more waterbenders in the southern tribe." Coleman replied, with Katara nodding as she understood that was the most logical decision.

"Each and every one that was taken away from the tribe and then rescued is on this same room. Although…well, more aged of course, like me. Alongside all their descendants, who took their places becoming the new members of the crew. They are the ones doing the training down there." Stanton added as he gave a tablet-device to Katara. The high-tech item had the list and profiles of all the waterbenders that got captured from the Water Tribe, rescued and that joined Monarch later as Katara could see passing down the list with her finger. All of them…minus one, which profile was all in red, photo included. "That's everyone, except one."

"We tried to rescue her, but somehow the agent assigned was not able to accomplish the mission. He assured on his report that he was possessed by some mysterious and inexplicable force that got him paralyzed and knocked him out. Once he woke up she was long gone."

"Hama." Katara recognized not happy of remembering her experience with her, still wishing not having meet her back then.

"Yes, that one. Guess you already know her by how you…reacted." Coleman said.

"It had to be when she used bloodbending to escape from her prison."

"Yes. We've heard the rumors of such…dark technique, but why she would do that and more to other people?"

"Resentment, toward the Fire Nation. She wanted revenge and used bloodbending as a tool for it." Katara replied.

"Yes, what the kid has said." Stanton supported. "Come on, Sam. It's not that hard to see. Any desiring-payback witch from her captors' nation that had such dismal power would do that."

"Wait! You guys have her locked here?!"

"No. After hearing all what she did we decided it would be too dangerous to have her down here in our prison. Besides, once the rest of her previous waterbender pals and their successors knew it they said they wanted nothing to do with her." Stanton added. "They got really disappointed with her, feeling she was no longer one of them and not belonged to the tribe anymore."

"I agree. She went down a path unworthy for any waterbender and discovered a power that she shouldn't have ever found, one that deserves to be forgotten. The world would be better off without it, and I…I was foolish enough to learn it." Katara expressed, feeling ashamed of being the second known bloodbender and how she used it on her own quest for vengeance.

"Then perhaps you should reinvent it and turn it into something better." Stanton proposed, getting her attention.

"What do you mean?"

"That maybe you should change it to something bad into something that can help people, like how you guys use healing with your waterbending."

"Well, that's not a bad idea. There are a lot of diseases, traumas and injuries that could be treated with such technique…if it's used with careful, of course." Coleman supported.

Now that was something that Katara haven't thought about it: find a way to use bloodbending for a better purpose, similar to healing. Only by knowing that she felt like a huge pressure on her shoulders lifted from her. Definitely a good way to distance herself from the path Hama took.

"You know? I hadn't thought it that way." Katara admitted before her face changed to a smiling one again. "Yeah, I would like to give it a try. Thanks, both of you."

"It was nothing." Stanton simply said.

"So, how about you join our fellow waterbenders and update them about things on home and more?" Coleman proposed signaling Katara to go and talk to the waterbenders below. "I believe they would be more than happy to finally meet the heroine they have heard of so much about."

Katara couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, guess I could brighten their day for a change, just like me already."

Katara bowed to Coleman and Stanton and jumped down the platform excited.

"She could have used the stairs." Stanton stated.

At noticing her presence there and approach to the group, the last waterbending master of the Southern Water Tribe was received by the waterbenders and non-benders with open arms. Well, no longer the last waterbender of her tribe as it could be seen. Meanwhile at the same time, on another corridor were Aang, Zuko and Toph following Serizawa and Graham in direction to what seemed to be another chamber similar to the one Katara was brought to.

"So…you're taken us to some special zone of here because you want to show us something?" Toph asked, as they didn't have a clue where were they going.

"Yes, but especially for Aang, as it involves him the most." Graham clarified.

"What do you mean with that?" Zuko asked.

"Inside this very chamber stays the most safeguarded and important secret of Monarch, besides all our years of research of the Titans and their mysterious forgotten hidden ecosystems." Serizawa said as they got in front the huge door, which surprisingly had the emblem of the Air Nomads alongside the one of Monarch. "They had stood here safe and sound, hidden from the world for one hundred years."

"Hey, that… that's the symbol of my people." Aang recognized. "What's doing down here?"

"And what do you mean 'they'" Zuko asked next.

"Yeah. Would you mind being more clear if it's not that much of a bother?" Toph added, a little tired of too much secrecy. "What's all this about?"

Graham looked at her mentor, who nodded at her before turning back at them. "You know that the world believes that the Air Nomads are all gone except of the Avatar, right?" She reminded, with the three young benders nodding while Serizawa approached the scanner at the side of the door and showed his ID card to it. "Well, that's what we wanted everyone to believe."

"What?" Aang and Zuko said at the same time before looking at each other.

"Hum, you lost me." Toph admitted.

"The belief that all airbenders were eliminated…" Serizawa started saying as the door began opening in front of the group. "It's a lie." He said smiling at them.

That left the three young heroes more perplexed before following the scientist duo inside the chamber. After walking in for a while the five of them reached to the inner chamber, and once there…they witnessed the last thing they expected to see anywhere in the world. Standing right there…above the observation deck that leaded toward the entrance they came through the group could see it all: Every part of the hall, each and every corner of it was decorated with ornaments, leathers, architectural objects, items and other cultural details typical of none other than the Air Nomads. It was exactly like how Aang remembered from his past days back home, 100 years ago, and that…was not the most incredible thing of all. Standing right in front of the group, their eyes could barely believe it. The hall was filled with people of all ages of a certain type; men and women…boys and girls wearing the same clothes that Aang had when he was discovered back in the South Pole, much of them with the same blue arrow tattoos and a few of them bald, some of the men and boys. There was no doubt who they were: airbenders. The same people that everyone though gone 100 years ago…not anymore. The group descended to the room on a platform, getting the attention of the Air Nomads and they got stunned at seeing another one of them, just like Aang at seeing them just a few meters from him, his friends, Serizawa and Graham. And not just anyone, but the Avatar himself. Everyone there stood silence for a few seconds…until Aang made the first step and began walking slowly toward them. Instantly the airbenders ran at him and received him with open arms and happy faces: shouting, whistling, cheering and acclaiming their newcomer as they gathered around him. Aang couldn't contain the overwhelming excitement of the moment from his heart and let out some tears of happiness seeing all those families in front of him: his people were alive…and he was no longer the last airbender.

"I…don't believe it. You're here. You're never gone." That was what Aang could only say softly looking at everyone. "You always were here."

"Are they…whom I think they are?" Toph asked still in disbelief.

"Indeed they are." Serizawa affirmed, smiling at the scene. "Airbenders."

"Both from Monarch and the Air Nomads." Graham added as she dried out some tears from her eyes, happy for Aang.

"So, these are the original Air Nomads?" Zuko asked shocked. "The ones from the time when Aang lived on the temples back then?"

"No, but some of them were here, on this same place: the survivors of the genocide." Serizawa clarified. "We gave them a save refuge here. The ones you see here are their descendants, alongside the ones from those who served with us ever since before the war began."

"I…I don't quite understand it."

"Once we knew that your great grandfather, Fire Lord Sozin intended to strike against the Air Nomads with his army, enhancing their firebending with the power of the comet on the assault at the Air Temples we knew we had to act fast." Graham started retelling. "We tried to warn everyone, but unfortunately…it was too late when it happened that day. We tried to help escape as much of them as we could, but none of the monks were among them. On the next days and years following the genocide and the start of the war our spies and agents kept a close eye on both the Fire Nation and Sozin and focused on searching for any airbender survivor from the temples. It wasn't an easy task and took us some time, but eventually we managed to find them all before the Fire Nation forces and take them here before it became our main headquarters, out of the eyes of the world. A place where they could be safe and sound while we did our best to manage things out there."

"You guys are really the best." Toph complimented giving a punch to Graham while smiling. Her way to express affection.

"There's something I still don't get it. The Air Temples were very well hidden, and such places could not be accessed easily by ordinary means. The airbenders could easily spot any intruder; no matter how well prepared was the Fire Nation or any strategy Sozin could come up with on his own, even with the power of the comet on their side. And yet…how did he manage to inflict such devastation?" Zuko questioned, now realizing how hard such attack should have been and why was that it became so devastating for the Air Nomads.

"He didn't. Someone told him how to do it." Serizawa replied. "A traitor."

"WHAT?!" Zuko and Toph exclaimed together shocked.

"Are you saying…that an airbender helped him?" Zuko repeated in disbelief, not expecting that.

"A monk. He told him and his forces everything they needed to accomplish his strike."

"Why he did that?!" Toph asked next, a little mad after knowing such horrible truth. "What could he possibly gain by helping in such evil plan and betraying his own people?!"

"His name was Afiko. An airbending master from the Southern Air Temple, Aang's home." Graham told. "He was a member of the high council of monks in his day, but he was not satisfied with the peaceful life of his people and their philosophy. He yearned for glory and the life of a warrior. When Aang's identity as the Avatar was revealed it was he who requested authorization from the Council of Elders to be able to teach the young Avatar advanced air control techniques, which they accepted with a prior exhibition of these. The results of these techniques turned out to be too cruel and destructive, ending the lives of many innocent flying bison and lemurs, leaving a terrible scene. The Council of Elders was horrified by how dark and sinister Afiko's airbending techniques turned out to be, and if it had not been for the fact that he had influence in the air temple he would have been expelled from it. They prohibited him from teaching these techniques to the Avatar or any Air Nomad since these were totally contrary to the pacifist and harmonious philosophy that their culture practiced."

Toph and Zuko got speechless with this revelation, as they didn't believe that any airbender could be like…well, similar to a firebender in the days of the war. But with this they had a feeling to where the subject could go, and maybe explain some things.

"The case is that with this prohibition, Master Afiko ended up being filled with jealousy and resentment towards his people and the Avatar himself." Graham continued telling. "And when he knew the intentions of Fire Lord Sozin to attack the airbenders and ensure to destroy the Avatar before he became a serious threat to him and his plans for conquest the monk saw a chance…and took it. Afiko betrayed his people by revealing the location and secret routes to the Air Temples to the Fire Lord himself and the Fire Nation after visiting him. And so the Fire Nation soldiers stormed the temple and massacred all the monks, but it was too late to catch Aang who had fled his home shortly before the assault."

"I see. So that's how it happened." Zuko said, with things becoming more clear and reasonable for him. "So what happened with this traitor monk?"

"Afiko was instrumental in engineering the genocide of his fellow Air Nomads, earning a place as a close military advisor of your great grandfather." Graham told. "For what his personal file of ours about him says and according to historical records as well it seems he assisted Sozin in attacking the Earth Kingdom in the early years of the war, in which he is often shown blocking or scattering Earthbending attacks and attacking the earthbenders."

"An airbending master adding the Fire Nation against the Earth Kingdom. That sounds so out of order, and bad." Toph expressed disappointed. "I hope that guy had what he deserved for everything he did."

"Yes, he had it. Our people made sure of it." Serizawa reassured.

"Oh, really? How?"

"Our spies and infiltrated agents discovered it. Everyone here on Monarch agreed he couldn't get away with it, after what he did. Besides, Afiko also ended betraying Fire Lord Sozin for his own benefit, which shows the lack of loyalty of this evil monk."

"He betrayed the Fire Lord? Why?"

"He renounced his vows of chastity by marrying and having a daughter, something that Fire Lord Sozin didn't allow him to do." Graham revealed. "In the end, despite his loyalty to the Fire Nation and his achievements, historical records indicate that Afiko met his demise in the fifth year of the war, as Fire Lord Sozin had executed him as a traitor as he also wanted to definitively break the Avatar cycle."

"Which is also a lie. It was our agents who captured him and his family and imprisoned him in one of our secret bases while his wife and daughter stood in strict custody." Serizawa followed. "He was sentenced to live locked up for the rest of his days, in the shadows…until his demise, not before revealing him that his all efforts of vengeance were in vain. He took that defeat to his grave."

"Wow, hard but fair." Toph said nodding, the same as Serizawa.

"He died long before Aang's return and the subsequent weakening of his entire work." Graham added.

"And in the end…it became for the best." Serizawa concluded, turning his sight back to Aang, still surrounded by his kind after so much time once again. Then his joy turned into sadness and remorse.

"I'm so sorry! I'm sorry for leaving you all! It's all my fault!" Aang confessed to the crowd crying down on his knees, still regretting what he did 100 years ago and now, with a chance to apologize at last in front of him he couldn't endure the blame any longer, shivering while struggling to look at them with his feelings. "I was scared of what could happen to me for being the Avatar, of my fate. I was just a boy, but…I never wanted to abandon you. I should have known. If I…If I never left back then m-maybe I could have done something to prevent it. To save you all. But…I didn't. I failed you. I'm not worthy of being alongside you."

With everything said Aang closed his eyes and lowered his head, ready for any accusations, complains and curses the crowd could throw at him. But instead he felt a pair of hands touching his shoulders gently.

"No, it wasn't your fault. Nobody expected such tragedy to happen." A gentle female voice answered at him. Then Aang looked up to see a beautiful airbender teenage girl or young woman with long hair down and her blue arrow tattoo on her forehead looking at him with a smiling and warm serene face that reminded him to Avatar Yangchen. She took his hands and helped him to get back on his feet. "Besides, there was nothing you could have done back then, you were too unexperienced. That decision of yours saved your life, and leaded you to the path that brought you back to the world on the right moment. So then you could fight back and fulfil your destiny as the Avatar: To bring back balance to the world, and you made it. And in the end the winds have brought you back to us. That's what really matters. Stop blaming yourself for a past you weren't responsible of."

Aang dried his tears as he listened to the wise words of that airbender gal, who seemed to be the actual leader of the Air Nomads. Next he looked around and saw everyone nodding at him with a sincere smile on their faces. That was enough to convince the little Avatar and bring him back his own smile. The great burden that he carried on his shoulders since he returned to his old home was gone.

"Thank you. Hum…" Aang said, even if he didn't know to who he was talking.

"Malu, Master Malu." The female airbending master introduced herself. "Although I came here a couple of years ago before your return."

"Really? How's that?"

"Many years ago I went down some huge hole and ended in some weird and enigmatic place ruled by strange creatures. I thought it was some area of the Spirit World, but it was the place people here known as Axis Mundi. I managed to find an exit and return to our world, right to be found by the people of Monarch." Malu explained how she got in the same place Aang and his friends thought have discovered for the first time. "But it seems that what it was some years for me inside that realm it became decades here."

"No way. I was there too recently with my friends."

"Well, crazy coincidence."

In that moment Zuko approached them, but he looked just like Aang when he tried to apologize to his people. The young Fire Lord fell to his knees and bowed at the Air Nomads.

"I know that I have no right of being in your presence. I know what my nation did to yours, to your families and ancestors, and I'm ashamed and regretful for that. What my predecessor did back then was outrageous and unforgivable, something that shouldn't have happened and you didn't deserve." Zuko said in regretful tone with tears on his eyes already, following the example of his friend and trying his best to apologize to the airbenders. "I know that my family and people don't deserve any apologize of yours. And I know that…I won't be able to make up for all the suffering and pain you and your predecessors have passed through, or fix it. But…even if I cannot gain your forgiveness at all, or atone for the sins and crimes of my nation against yours, as the new Fire Lord I want you to know this: I'm very…deeply sorry."

"Please, you don't have to apologize, Fire Lord Zuko." Malu insisted, making him to raise his head. "As I said to your friend you had nothing to do with that matter. Besides, we all here know what you did to help the Avatar and his allies and the role you played in ending the war, redeeming your nation and restoring balance. And that's good enough for us."

"I guess I forgot we airbenders have a gift when it comes to forgive people." Aang recalled. "Even old enemies that end becoming good friends."

Zuko felt a warm feeling in his heart at hearing all that, making him to dry tears, get up and smile back.

"We wanted this to be a surprise for you, Aang." Graham said, getting their attention. "We thought it for your birthday but…you have been far from your people too much time."

"We planned this meeting for you since your victory over Ozai. You deserve it." Serizawa added.

Aang went at both scientists and gave them a hug, which they returned. He couldn't thank them enough. For him that was the proof that they were like his parents: mother and father. In that same moment Katara came inside running.

"Guys! Here you are! You're not gonna believe it! I just found-" Katara called arriving, but then she stopped gasping in surprise of what she saw in front of her. "Are…those…?" She asked walking near Toph.

"Yes Katara. They are." Toph confirmed drying some tears from her eyes happy.

Katara understood everything with those words. Aang had reunited with his lost people, just like her, but for him it was much more than that: he was no longer the last of his kind. He was so happy for that miracle and that made her too. Sometime later the four young benders stood sat near the landing platform where they went into the base, where they had some big view of everything, mostly the bestiary and the remains of the Titans.

Toph let out a sigh. "Quite a day it has been, right guys?"

"Yeah, way too much for a day if I say so." Zuko answered. "Not even my uncle could expect anything like it."

"I still can't believe it. My people is still alive, and they are pretty good." Aang recalled. "Heh, wait until I tell the Air Acolytes about this."

"See? I told you there would be a way for their return." Katara reminded her boyfriend, making him smile at her. "There's always hope, although I didn't expect something like this. Thank the spirits."

"Thank Monarch." Toph corrected. "They're the ones who kept them safe."

"Yeah. I'm glad to know that you're not the last waterbender of your tribe after all as well." Aang supported, as his girlfriend told them about the waterbenders she met shortly on the other chamber: the descendants of the ones Monarch rescued from the Fire Nation on their day with the exception of Hama, the bloodbender.

"Obviously Monarch have been taking care of the people of our nations more than we thought while keeping the Titans and the other creatures a secret." Zuko realized. "They're real heroes."

"Yeah, they really are the good guys. And anyone who thinks the other way is totally wrong." Toph added. "People here know more than we expected."

"Yeah, like that dreadful monk. I can't believe it was one of the monks who betrayed all Air Nomads and helped Fire Lord Sozin on his plot to exterminate them." Aang expressed mad, knowing now the truth of how the Fire Nation managed to launch its devastating strike at the Air Temples, including his old home and the supposed downfall of his people. "I know it's not like my people to hold grudges or wish someone's harm, but I must admit that I'm glad that he got what he deserved for what he did to us."

"Maybe, but this also has another good point." Katara pointed. "That's the solid proof that shows that what happened to the other airbenders when you disappeared 100 years ago was never your fault."

"Katara's right, Aang. Unfortunately it was something that was gonna happen one way or another, because of my great grandfather. But you made the right decision by leaving home." Zuko supported. "Well, I don't know about the iceberg, but it brought you to the right moment to return to the world. Both that…and Godzilla."

"Sure. We gotta thank the G-Man for it. We wouldn't have meet you if it wasn't for him." Toph added. But then the others looked at her with confused funny faces.

"Wait, it's that supposed to be a nickname for Godzilla?" Katara asked.

"Yeah, and trust me. It wasn't easy to come up with it. Although maybe I kinda heard it from some the guys from the G-Team. I don't know."

"Well, I don't know what to think about it. As long it doesn't sound like making fun of him." Aang opined.

"Of course not. It's a compliment."

"Well, I refuse to call him that." Zuko defended.

"Me too. But I dare Sokka would agree with you." Katara deduced.

"Taking that issue aside, thank you guys. Now I feel that this huge burden I had been carrying on my shoulders since I came back to the world is gone." Aang expressed grateful. "I feel myself freer now."

"I'm glad to know that, Aang. And I'm happy for you." Katara said approaching him and looking at him with lovely eyes.

"Thanks Katara. I'm too for you."

The former last airbender and waterbender shared an eskimo kiss.

"Come on, guys! Find yourselves a temple!" Toph demanded at the scene, making the young couple and Zuko to laugh, which she joined.

"So Aang, what are you gonna do? I mean, now that we know that the Air Nomads were never gone, are you going to reveal that you're no longer the last airbender to the world?" Katara asked curious.

Such question turned to be mostly doubtful for Aang. Of course it would mean great news for everybody, but knowing the situation the world was going through currently such revelation could be a little rashly, and who knows what the others would thought about Monarch, being them the ones who kept the surviving airbenders hidden from the world since the genocide. It would help clearing their name? Or it would make people wonder what else could Monarch be hiding from regular people beside Titans and superspecies?

"No. It would be too soon. And I don't know if that would help Monarch or affect it more, now that the world seems divided on what they want for it and its crew." Aang responded, not very convinced at such idea. "It's best that they stay here…for now."

"I understand, and I respect your choice. Whatever you decide I'll support you." Katara swore.

"Actually, Master Malu and I decided it together. In fact, we've been talking about making some…changes in traditions. A few ones that now we see them to be wrong, and the monks never realized it. Back in my day I was raised by the monks, not by my real parents unlike her. But from now on that's over. All airbenders will be raised by their own parents and families, just like everyone else. Just like it always should have been."

"That's a good choice, Aang. And that's another thing I was gonna ask about. How is that new airbending master of yours?"

"Well you see Katara, she's quite unique among airbenders, and it's not because I say it. She was an orphan survivor who lost her parents after the Air Nomad tragedy. She became an airbender on her own: with no guide or teacher, just in her own right. She was very tenacious and was never captured or stroke down by Fire Nation troops." Aang started telling the story of Malu as she told him, becoming a new airbender for the Avatar to admire besides Monk Gyatso. "She was born from 2 airbender monks and raised in the Eastern Air Temple. When the Fire Nation attacked our people during Sozin's Comet, her mother hid her in a cave to keep her safe. As such, Malu lost her mother and father but survived the attack."

"Sorry to hear that."

Aang nodded at the words of his soulmate. "For years, Malu lived on her own, learning to control her airbending and despite lacking a teacher she quickly mastered the element, which helped her to survive. It wasn't until 10 years after the genocide that she came out of hiding and began attacking Fire Nation soldiers. She then became a legend in the Earth Kingdom as an enigmatic beauty that supposedly controlled spirits and could appear and disappear at will."

"Wow, that sounds amazing."

"How could she do that?" Zuko asked curious.

"Apparently she had a very close connection with spirits, being able to see them unlike other people. Besides she was able of projecting her spirit at will. It's a rare ability that I heard some airbenders can do, especially those ones with a deep spiritual connection."

"Wow. I didn't know your people could do something some mystical like that, Twinkle Toes." Toph replied.

"So, how things went for Malu back then?" Katara said next.

"She was revered by the people she protected and feared by the Fire Nation." Aang told continuing with her tale. "And her actions even promoted the uprising of some of these people against the invaders, becoming known as the Ghost Witch of the Mountain."

Toph whistled impressed. "Now that's a good scary title, even for an airbender."

"You said it, Toph. It was said on those days that she later made her house hidden in a mountain, which gave her said name. At some point she returned to her old home at the temple and found a small herd of flying bison that were not found by the Fire Nation."

"Really?" Katara said.

"Yes. She took them to a hidden valley among the mountains where they were safe and reproduced in secret alongside a secret population of flying lemurs, saving the species from extinction. She knows where they are, and so the other airbenders now, but that's not the most impressive thing about her. What makes her really unique is that she discovered and invented a brand new sub-technique of airbending: Soundbending."

"What?!" Katara, Toph and Zuko exclaimed at the same time.

"Say again?" Zuko responded.

"Soundbending? Did I hear right?" Toph followed.

"Yeah, just like that." Aang confirmed. "I don't know how she did it but she wrote all about it on a scroll that she has hidden somewhere. She told me that she discovered this sub-technique by looking at how firebenders used their power and their way of concentrating energy in their movements. It seems the key for it is to load the throat with a lot of air and then release it all at once and forcefully in the form of a powerful sonic scream instead of a puff."

"Isn't it that what you did when you faced the volcano or when you called all those strayed animals on Ba Sing Se with Appa's whistle?" Katara recalled.

"More or less, except that Master Malu said it's much like how some firebenders release a fire breath when roaring or shouting." Aang rectified.

Zuko nodded at it. "I saw my uncle giving quite a demonstration to the Dai Li back on the royal palace. He's not called the Dragon of the West for nothing. Now that I think of it, for what you're saying it's clearly that she did something similar of what my uncle did when he learned how to redirect lightning: creating a new technique for her bending based on another bending art."

"Although it also sounds similar to when I became the first metalbender." Toph pointed. "This kind of cases always makes people famous by being the first ones of it. I always assumed airbending was not my thing, but I gotta admit that sonic scream stuff sounds really cool."

"It's not just that. Master Malu expanded her knowledge of soundbending by watching firebenders with close attention." Aang continued telling. "In time and with lot of practice she became able to launch rapid sonic blasts with her hands, fists and feet and even a kind of sonic beam making movements similar to the attacks that firebenders make."

"So it looks like this technique is more offensive." Katara deduced, with Aang nodding.

"The key for this is to concentrate one's energy into the movements, thus altering the particles in the surrounding air and concentrating them into sound."

"For what my uncle told me about airbending, the element is related to not resisting and is more defensive. And for what you said about soundbending it seems to be more offensive and facing resistance, much like firebending. So it confirms such hypothesis of learning it based on firebending moves." Zuko said.

"Sure. The most important rule of airbending for my people is to use it for defend themselves and others, not to attack." Aang reminded.

"I guess that fact was something that Malu had to put aside or assimilate when she fought against the Fire Nation soldiers in order to survive." Katara guessed. "And that's what made her advance a lot in soundbending."

"So…what does all this means?" Toph said.

"I guess it means that only those airbenders most willing to confront their adversaries in a more direct and non-evasive way with enormous determination would be more suitable to be soundbenders. And such mindset is quite rare among Air Nomads." Aang assumed a little dejected.

"Only that? Then I don't see any problem there."

"What do you mean with that?"

"Come on, Twinkle Toes, it's easy! If you managed to learn and master earthbending, which is the natural opposite of your element there's no inconvenience for you to become a soundbender." Toph said pointing at Aang's torso. "First: you have someone to be your master. Second: you have learned and master the other element from which soundbending is based on: firebending. You're dumb if you can't see it by yourself."

"Toph's right, Aang. Malu can be your teacher and you already know firebending thanks to Zuko." Katara supported. "You have all the requirements for that skill."

"You're right. I could be the next soundbender!" Aang exclaimed excited. "I really like that idea."

"And it could be an advantage against Jonah's mercenaries. I doubt they ever heard of such power, and less faced it." Zuko added. "And in case the next Titan they try to get it's the wrong one and we're forced to face it."

"Let's hope that doesn't end happening."

"So, about Malu. What happened to her in the end?"

"Despite the attempts of the Fire Nation, they never managed to find her and her legend passed through history, distorting it more and more, making it difficult to know what was true and what was a myth." Aang retold. "Malu disappeared without anyone knowing what really became of her…until now."

"What did she told you?" Katara said.

"Do you remember that giant insectoid Titan and its offspring that we found near that abandoned village?" Aang recalled from their encounter with the Endopede and Endoswarmer, with the others nodding at him. "It seems that back on those days she traveled to that same place and encountered the same bugs. She got captured by the swarm and dragged down their tunnel; ending in the place Monarch seems to call Axis Mundi, some kind of region of the supposed Hollow Earth that is much nearer the surface."

"That weird underground place where we brawled with that bizarre boar? That was one of the strangest trips of my entire life." Toph expressed.

"Wait. Are you saying that she has being down there all this time?" Katara asked shocked.

"Pretty much. In fact she found a way out, back to the surface a couple of years ago. Some kind of portal." Aang revealed. "After then she was found by some of Monarch agents and let her catch up with everything that happened during her absence."

"But how is it that she has the same appearance from back there after so many decades?" Katara asked confused. "How she made it to remain that young?"

"Yeah. She shouldn't be an old lady by now? How is that possible?" Toph added.

"I don't know, and neither she or Monarch. But it must be something related to Axis Mundi." Aang opined.

"Hum, maybe that place has something that distorts the pass of time, or makes it different from how it goes in our world." Zuko deduced. "While for her it was a few years, in our world it was several decades that passed since she disappeared. Or something like that."

"Yeah. That's what she told me." Aang agreed.

"Well, another mystery for another time. Although I would like to know how she did it, in case I could do the same." Katara admitted.

"I gonna pretend I didn't hear that from you, Sugar Queen." Toph responded.

"Oh, so you don't bother if I get older less and much later than you. It's that what you mean, Toph?" Katara provoked as she smirked suspiciously.

"Don't push me, Katara." Toph warned pointing at her. "And I never said that. Besides, you're older than me, so that's way impossible."

"I wouldn't be so sure."

"What do you mean with that?! What do you know?!"

Aang, Zuko and Katara erupted in laughs at Toph's reaction, with her joining with them, ending as another funny moment. After that they stood watching the view again.

"Monarch. We owe them a lot." Katara said.

"Indeed. That's why we must help them, now more than never." Aang supported with a strong determination. "We cannot allow anyone to interfere on their mission or take control of it and its crew, forcing them to do anything against their will or bad. Especially anything regarding the Titans. Now it's our turn to protect them. Both them and Godzilla."

"They've watched over both sides of our world. They don't deserve to be hated by people." Toph added with the same determinate look.

"We're going to rescue Maddie, Emma and the rest of our family. You'll see." Katara followed, the same as the others.

"And no matter what that Jonah guy intends to do, we're going to stop him and his goons." Zuko declared. "We'll bring them to justice, one way or another."

Team Avatar was so decided to ensure that the secret organization that made their hopes come true and brought so much good to them would prosper, have a good future and continue with their quest for a proper balance in the world and coexistence with the mightiest creatures of the natural world. And with Godzilla on their side they felt ready to face anything that would go against them, even if such threat ended being much worse than the Mutos and the other beasts they went against were. But only time would tell as the pieces kept moving steady in direction to a new confrontation from very long ago waiting to continue.

Surprise! The Air Nomads are back! Or better said, they were never gone thanks to Monarch's efforts. And about Malu, she returned from Axis Mundi to the world exactly in 97 AG, a couple of years before Aang's awakening, just like she said. Then they told her everything that happened so far since she was gone and became the actual leader of the Air Nation. So you see, balance was brought back much more than anyone realized.
