He leads me to the training arena. "Well, let's try out that spear." He grabs his blade, Backbiter, which is half steel, half Celestial Bronze, and stands in position.

I see that some campers that were practicing here stop to watch as some people whisper, asking who I am, but nobody has an idea.

Luke is ready to pounce until I put the spearhead against the ground, pointing his way, and take up an almost lazy stance. Luke looks at me with a baffled expression as he looks at my stance.

I give him a 'come at me' with my left hand as he narrows his eyes at my challenge.

He rushes forward as I kick the spear up and into his direction as he closes in. Shocked at my unconventional strategy, he quickly sidesteps, losing most of his forward momentum. He continues getting close as I try to increase the distance but moves inside my guard.

Knowing there isn't much else to do, I flip my spear so that the spear point is behind me, and I wield the handle like an unbalanced staff.

He slashes at me adn I block it with my handle and tilt it off to one side. As the sword follows the path, I bring the spear point in an overhead swing.

Realizing what's happening, Luke slips past my handle and presses the sword point into my neck. "Checkmate," He says, a bit out of breath.

Unable to find a way out, I nod, accepting my defeat. As he backs up, I collapse on the ground from exhaustion.

"You okay there, Jack?" I see Luke standing over me with concern on his face but with a grin and a hand stretched out.

"Yeah. That was the most exercise I've had in a while," I say back as I accept his hand, as he pulls me up. I noticed that a few of the other campers that were watching us went back to their own training.

"That was certainly a different way to wield a spear," Luke says. I nod. "I don't think a spear is going to work in the style that I want. I might have to talk to Hephaestus cabin sooner rather than later."

Suddenly, a horn rings out. I look at Luke in confusion. "Lunchtime," he says. I see that other campers have left as I follow Luke. He brings me to the Dining Pavilion and shows me where to put the weapons before starting to show me everything.

"No meat?" I ask him as he shakes his head. "We only get meat at dinner, but all of this is from that nature spirits. It's nutritional enough." Luke says before he walks off talking to other people. I grab some food before I hear over my shoulder.

"Are you new?" I look over and see a guy with black hair and brown eyes.

"Yep. Today is my first day," I say to him.

"Well, welcome to Camp Half-Blood. I'm Charles Beckendorf." He stretches out a hand.

Charles Beckendorf is a hero who sacrifices his life to blow up Princess Andromeda.

I accept it, "Jack Bar. You're in Hephestus's cabin, right?" His eyebrows raise, and his mouth drops in shock.

"Y-Yeah. How did you know? Did Luke tell you?"I grin at his shock as I shake my head.

"Nope. Luke has shown me a few places and sparred with me. He hasn't told me about anyone. I figured because of your hands." I can't exactly say because I know the future.

His hands were calloused and looked like they'd been at work for a bit. He blushed at the obvious clue. "Oh, now that you mention it, it sounds very obvious." He shakes his head as if clearing it. "Anyway, I'm the cabin counselor of Hephaestus cabin."

"I'm pleased to meet you. I was hoping to talk with one of you later about some weapons and projects."

His eyebrows raise in curiosity. "Projects and weapons, huh? It sounds like you have plenty of ideas. Tell me some of them," I tell him about what I want.

"Interesting. The first and second ones are easy. The third one will be tricky, and you'll have to come to the Forge to get measured. I'm afraid that the fourth one will take too long. You'd have to give us a few months and quite a few tests, but it sounds like an exciting weapon project."

We both walk away and head to our respective tables, as I remember you can't sit together for meal times. I see that the Hermes table is overflowing, even with two tables put together. I see a spot next to Luke as I sit by him.

"There you are. I was wondering if you'd ever stop talking to Beckendorf," Luke says with a grin. "But it looks like you were talking about something interesting."

I nod. " Yeah. I was telling him about some ideas I had."

Luke grins. " First day, and you already have ideas, huh? You're ambitious, I'll say that much." We both eat our food as Luke talks to others.

"Back to sparring?" he asks me as everyone gets up and heads back to their activities.

I shake my head. "I was planning on going to the Archery Range."

"You remember where that is right?" Luke asks.

You catch Annabeth out of the corner of your eye, walking to the table. "Yeah. You said it was in that direction?"

You point in the right direction, and Luke nods, "Yep. Chiron should be there, if not him, then one of the Apollo kids."

Annabeth finally walks over and stares intently at you. "Who are you?" she immediately asks. She looks upset, as you see that her arms are crossed.

You look over at Luke, looking for help. "Annabeth, you remember Jack, right? It's his first day here," Luke says.

Annabeth ignores Luke as she continues to look at me. "How did you know how our camp director is a God?" I can see Luke looking at you now with shock as he looks between me and Annabeth, noting how neither of us are joking.

"Wait, what? This is the first time I'm hearing this." He looks at me as I shrug. "I took a guess." I give Annabeth a grin."Turns out that my guess was correct."

Annabeth narrows her eyes at that. "Someone must've told you about Camp. Who?! Was it Magellan?"

I can see that Annabeth is starting to get worked up as Luke tries to calm her down. "Hey, Hey now, Annabeth, you shouldn't just accuse someone." He looks at me. "Did anyone tell you about Camp?"

I shake my head. "Nobody told me about Camp." Technically, it's true because I read it in a book.

Annabeth's narrowed eyes lessen at my answer as I decide to make my scarce. "Well, I'm off to the Archery Range if either of you need me." I get up from the table, grab my spear, and start walking in that direction as I hear Luke and Annabeth talking until I can't hear them anymore.

I make my way to the Archery Range, where I find some people practicing with Chiron in charge. Chiron sees me and, after making sure the camper knows what he's doing, trots over to me. He's out of his wheelchair and looks like a proper centaur. 7 feet tall with a brown horse body.

"Jack!" He greets me, "How have you been adjusting to camp?" He eyes my spear.

"It's definitely been physical so far. From taking a tour to grabbing a weapon, from sparring with Luke to Lunch, and finally here," I tell him the basics of what has happened so far.

He nods, "It seems that you are adjusting quite well. Do not forget to take some time aside to rest up. After all, you did enter into a new world."

I smile, knowing he's closer to the truth than anyone else. "I will, Chiron. I'm actually hoping to get in some Archery before doing that."

Chiron nods. "Then allow me to help you with the basic archery. First, you'll need a bow and a quiver of arrows." I see a nearby rack of them, so I grab a bow and a quiver as I walk back. "Good. Now you just..."

Chiron teaches me how to shoot. I start out awkwardly, but I start to get better. After about 10 minutes of shooting, I land my first arrow onto the target. It's on the outermost white ring, but at least it's a start. After about 30 minutes of shooting, the closest I've gotten was the outermost blue.

Surprisingly, the bow and arrow feels very natural in my hands, and I promise to train more often. "Well done," Chiron says. "Not too bad for your first time. How far would you say that target is?" He points to the target I was shooting.

"20 yards?" I guess.

Chiron shakes his head. "35 yards, but you were close." I let out a low whistle as the last time you shot a bow was at roughly 15 yards. No wonder it was much harder to hit.

I look at Chiron, wondering if I can confide in him about my past and this future. I shake my head. Dionysus is usually around him, and the Gods probably periodically check Camp as they tend to hear things inside Camp.

"Something wrong Jack?" I see Chiron looking down at me with concern on his face. "Just thinking about things. I tend to make plans and determine the chances of it working. If they are high, I plan some more, if not, then I scrap it and plan again." I shrug, giving him a half-truth.

He nods. "That's probably your ADHD, your battle instincts. It could be that you are a Son of Athena too, as they tend to do that too."

I nod. "That could be it. Anyways," I give him a little bow. "Thank you for teaching me."

Chiron gives a little bow back. "It is always a pleasure to teach new campers. What will you be doing next?"

I ponder, "I'll probably take a nap until dinner."

Chiron nods, "I will let Luke know. Make sure you head to the Infirmary before you head to bed to check your injuries."

I nod as I retrieve the arrows and put them back along with the bow. I walk in the direction of the Infirmary. I don't even notice the pain anymore.

I walk through Camp looking all over. I see some people at the stables feeding and grooming the pegasi. I see people Canoeing and Kayaking in the water. I can see people going back and forth doing their own work. I look at it all with a smile as it's so peaceful here.

I walk through the Infirmary doors to find Michael Yew organizing the place. "Knock, Knock," I announce myself.

Michael looks over at me with a grin. "Already hurt yourself again? And on the first day," He sighs and shakes his head.

"Nah, just having you look at my injuries," I gesture to my chest.

He nods his head as he pats an empty bed. "Well, come on over and let me see." I walk over and sit up on it as he starts to remove the bandages. Once they are removed, I can see that the injury is gone, leaving only a scar.

"Man, you healed fast. Typically, it'll take a few days for a wound like yours to heal. Though I guess Magellan did start the process early and caught most of it, which did help a lot," Michael says.

I run my hand over it and feel a tingle of pain from the scar. "It might hurt for a bit, but otherwise, you are completely fine" Michael tells me.

I get off the bed. "Thanks Michael. I'll try to stay away from here from now on," I say with a teasing grin.

Michael snorts. "That's what everyone says, but they always come back." I give Michael a wave as you walk out.

As I head back to the Hermes Cabin, I start planning for tonight. Typically, Demigods get claimed at dinner when you offer food to the Gods, but others get claimed in different ways. Percy gets claimed when they realize that he heals when in water.

I start to think about what child I am the Son of, but there are so many options, though my front runners are Apollo and Athena. I shake my head, clearing it as I arrive at my location.

I walk through the door and see some people here and there, but I head over to my bed, place my spear nearby, and lay down. Soon, I close your eyes as I slip into the realm of Hypnos.

A/N Bet you're wondering what the projects are huh? You'll just have to wait and see ;)
