*Nikita's P.O.V*

I managed to escape the bathroom but wasn't able to go far. My powers and body weak from the blood loss. I at least managed to manifest myself into what I like to call the "panic room" but in reality, it's a place I had made to keep my family safe in case they ever became a target of someone or something, and I wasn't around to protect them and also carry out more...interesting habits and rituals. It was a room in the basement that was sealed behind a heavy metal door where no sound could get out. It also had special wards and sigils carved into the walls to provide extra protection. Thankfully whoever cleaned the house got the smell of blood and bodily fluids out of the room, repainted it, disposed of some of the more gruesome pieces of furniture, and replaced them with more modern, welcoming items. It honestly did look more like what humans would consider a panic room rather than a dungeon or vault, hence the name. I could hear Eric tearing up the house upstairs searching for me. He knew I was still somewhere in the house. While I felt safe in here, I knew if my children came home or Samuel, they'd be in danger. I left my cell phone behind in the bathroom. Thankfully someone thought to put in a landline weirdly enough. I frantically dialed my brother's number, hoping he would pick up. My fear slowly rose as the phone continued to ring, finally on the final one he picked up. "Hello?" his voice came over the phone. Some relief washed over me. "Sam, can you hear me it's Niki? Something bad happened, like something really, really bad." I said my voice shaky and panicked. "Hey, calm down, Niki what's up? What happened?" Sam's voice was laced with concern. "I need you to gather the kids and make sure NO ONE comes to the house. You guys need to get somewhere safe for the time being. The house isn't safe right now." I pleaded with him on the phone. My fear is if Eric couldn't get to me, he might try to find one of them next and either kill them or use them to lure me out. "Niki Niki slow the fuck down. I haven't heard you this scared in ages. What's happening? Why isn't the house safe?" He asked me, just then there was another roar upstairs and what sounded like a door breaking. He was getting closer to the basement. Closer to my location. "What was that? Niki, are you ok? Please, please tell me what is happening." He pleaded from the other side of the phone. I took a breath in trying to calm my nerves. "It's Eric, Samuel. He knows it's me, and he got a good amount of my blood in him before I managed to escape to the panic room, and he's extra pissed now because I sliced him up pretty good with my silver hand mirror. He's destroying the house right now looking for me, he knows I'm still here and won't stop until he gets to me or the sun rises. Thankfully, he doesn't know what else my blood can do, or else I'll never be able to leave this room. I should be safe in here for now until morning. You just need to the children and yourself to a safe place till tomorrow. I'll have something figured out by then...hopefully." I could hear Samuel muttering curses to himself. Then he agreed. I told him to message me when they were safe and hung up the phone. I could feel my body start to grow lighter, and my head started swimming as I came down from my adrenaline high, the loss of blood hitting me full force. Even with some of his blood in me, it would still take some extra effort to heal. I was about to collapse on my knees when I heard the noise upstairs go silent. I listened closely to see if I heard any footsteps above me, but there was nothing. I let out a sigh of relief, hoping that he had left already out of frustration. Just as I was about to reach for the door to unlatch it. I heard something slam into it with full force the metal almost denting inwards. I quickly backed away from the door. "I know you're in there, Nikita, you little bitch. I can smell that sweet blood of yours," I heard him shout from the other side. "Just come out, and I'll actually make it quick this time by tearing out your fucking throat and fuck you as I watch the life leave your eyes." He continued to ram himself into the door. I took a seat on the loan couch in the room and just watched the door; hopefully, it should hold up against the brute force. I could feel my eyelids growing heavier. If I was still mortal, the amount of blood taken from me would have killed me. He took me beyond the point and took even more. I tried to fight it as best as I could so I could remain vigilant the rest of the night and come up with a backup plan in case the door couldn't hold up, but my body was exhausted. I slowly started to fade in and out and felt myself starting to slump on the couch until, eventually, I fell unconscious to the sounds of him hurtling insults and threats through the door.

Sorry, this chapter was short guys, and didn't have too much excitement. I'll try to make the next one better but still,l I hope ya'll enjoy
