An AU Story Start. Let's not forget some War Criminal characters from the "Juuni Taisen vs Juuni Taisen" stories are there. So, I hope you learn them.

Chapter 14: "The Parental Warrior who deserves a Whole Break"

Outside the Zoo Park,

"You gotta be kidding me.." Nezumi thought.

First, his Apartment got burned and Inoka's' uncle volunteered to let him stay before going back. Now, he has to hang out with Meland's uncle who gave an intimidating presence in front of one he was supposed to babysit.

Just great. He expects Inoka would hang out with the Blonde twins and watch over but instead of them, they invite the big guy.

"Woah, you're so big Mister. I wonder how W2 befriended you." Inoka said as she lifts her head in amazed to see her friend's friend.

"So this is a brat that befriended those twins. Very impressive." Dandylion sighed back. He folded his arms and looked his eyes down to the little girl. "I'm Dandylion. Call me Uncle Leo, little lass."

Inoka introduced herself and they shook their hands. It's like a peaceful meeting between them but it became complicated when his eyes turned to the teen beside her. Nezumi felt nervous to see his menacing look on his eyes on him. Dandylion noticed his unease expression as he tried to put a work on them.

"And uhh.. what are we waiting for, you're here to see the animals, aren't you?" The Innocent girl nods back excitedly.

"Let's go then. My treat" Dandylion said.

Those twin brats. He should've just followed his instincts and rejected their offer.

Dandylion thinks their request was easy to accomplish but he never expects to babysit two children in a zoo park.

Just great. The Rat warrior gave him a suspicious look while the little girl… she looks naive that she accepts him as another friend.

What did W2 tell her to get along with him?

Whatever. Dandylion doesn't waste his time. If worse comes to worse, he'll have to leave those brats and call it a day.

With more people around, Dandylion ensures he sticks them closer to avoid getting lost. The Rat warrior may be tall but he is still a child in his eyes. A child warrior who has no right to boss around him.

The first place they visit was the famous area, where they find a Lion and their cubs in their lair. The little girl watched the Lion roaring with her excited reaction while Nezumi remained silent.

Dandylion clicked his tongue to see the Rat warrior not impressed. This is a Lion and everyone should be excited.

He wanted to lecture the boy on how great Lions are but the staff breaks their chat and explains more stuff on what Lions can do.

An hour has passed by and Dandylion led the kids explore around the zoo without stopping. They were able to see more animals than they expected.

It was almost time for lunch and the Little girl wants to see a fish inside the aquarium but Nezumi reminds her of her health for her uncle's sake.

"Even if we want to see those fishes, we can't go there without an entrance ticket. That'll wait, okay?" Nezumi held her shoulder and knelt down to look her in the eye.

"Fine, I understand, Nezu nii." The little girl nods back.

Dandylion observed how close those kids are. Nezumi acts like a big brother to a cheerful orphaned little girl.

Just like what happened now as they went to a nearby cafeteria, The rat warrior allowed her to pick her favorites and he bought it for her.

He persuades Dandylion to look after the little girl while he's going to a queue and get their orders.

As soon as the Silver hair was out of sight, the two of them were alone. Dandylion looked at the little girl, who somehow felt sad as she clung to her shirt and looked down.

"Something wrong, kid?" Dandylion sighed as he tried to relax his voice and not scare the child. "If it's about your pretendable Brother, Nezumi. You can say it to my face."

The little girl hesitates but decides to give courage to face him.

"Mister.. I.. I'm glad you came over to join us for this day and we're grateful you watch over us." She raised her head and looked into his eyes. "Though, I have some questions."

"Anything. Let your Uncle Dandylion hear it then." Dandylion doesn't mind, thinking this little girl doesn't pose a threat.

"Do you hate Nezu nii?" Dandylion raised his eyebrows when hearing her innocent question. He let out a sigh and gave her a plain answer that a child can understand.

"I'm not sure if hating him is the right word. As an adult, it's my responsibility to ensure a rebellious teen doesn't cause any trouble. You don't need to worry about it. I'm just giving him a test to see he's worthy to be your company."

"Haha.. W2 and M2 said the same thing." The little girl chuckled as Dandylion was surprised she wasn't taking it seriously. "You don't need to do that for me. I'm fine. I understand your concern."

She took a deep relieved sigh ans gave him a gentle smile. Her reaction is like someone appreciating to have someone sharing her thoughts.

"If it wasn't for Nezu- nii… I wouldn't be here now. No matter what the past is, I think having Nezu nii in my company brings joy to my family's life."

Before she continues, a group of customers have suddenly rushed and got crowded inside the cafeteria.

This caused the people squirming from small spaces and move randomly. Dandylion saw the little girl separating and forcing to move outside.

Dandylion gritted his teeth when he got separated from the girl. This is crazy! He left the little girl alone on her own because of those crowded people.

If something happens to the little girl, Nezumi would find him suspicious, her guardian would get sad and what's worse, those twins might give him a disgraceful look and ruin his reputation.

Dandylion doesn't want to admit defeat. He pushed those people out to give way and looked around to find the little girl.

He desperately tries to rush and reach outside but the crowded people pushed him inside, unable to make him step. But that doesn't mean he's going to give up.

So he used his strength and pushed those people out, scared them away to give him space. As soon as he finally reached outside and spot the little girl, he noticed she wasn't alone.

Dandylion expects the Silver haired warrior will find her sooner but he broke his expectations when that person was just an ordinary Staff worker wearing a black hat. He seems to be working on patrols like a cop but one thing he bothers is. The Little girl's expression turns pale as the Worker grabs her wrist and try to take her away.

This made Dandylion upset as he approached them like a boss and stops them from taking her, "Hey! Let her go!"

The Staff worker watched the big man snatching the little girl's wrist away from him, releasing and pulling her to his side. The little girl clutched behind him as Dandylion defend her.

"She's with me. You don't get to take her" Dandylion said. He sounds like a parent defending his child.

"I- I'm sorry. I thought she was lost and taking her to the Emergency or Lost and Found would be better." The staff Worker looked nervous as he stared down and rubbed his head.

"Even so, she hesitates and knows where we are. So try to listen to her, Mister." Dandylion crossed his arms and lectured him.

"I apologize again. I'm still new and I-"

"We don't care and get out of our sight!" Dandylion gave him a glare as his fierce eyes and deep voice has scared the Staff worker.

When the Staff worker left, the little girl took a deep breathe and relaxed beside Dandylion.

Dandylion faced her as he knelt down, staring into her eyes and he lend his hand into her shoulders.

"Looks like I scared you kid."

"No, you saved me. Thank you Mister." The little girl smiled calmly.

"Of all the things, what were you trying to do when he snatched you away? You should've called someone else. You don't get to be polite everyday." Dandylion lectured her but the Little girl shook her head and give her a quick answer.

"I'm sorry. It's like" She turned away and continued, "I don't really trust strangers a lot except my Uncle and anyone who wanted help like Nezu-nii"

"Seriously? You really trusted that guy a lot." Dandylion sighed back. "Tell me, what makes you trust that guy so much that he could give you more trouble?"

Dandylion thinks asking this question for an innocent girl is a bad idea but even still, he was curious of her deep connections to him.

"..." The little girl gripped her shirt as she tries to control her emotions. Once she took a deep breathe, she gave him a determined look and answered, "I already know that Nezu-nii has more secrets he never shares to me. I know he was involved with my father's case and commit some sins that he won't talk about. I know I got a lot of trouble because of him."

"But even so, if it wasn't for him, I mean, without Nezu-nii, I wouldn't be brave enough to be alone and face problems."

"What do you mean?" Dandylion questioned.

"You see, while he's not there, I've got a lot of trouble multiple times. I almost got kidnapped, almost got killed, hunt down or being dragged by strangers a lot. During those nine months, whenever I go outside, there were people who attempt to kidnap me."

"Why didn't you informed your Uncle? Or call police?" Dandylion watched the little girl shook her head.

"I tried and Uncle believe in me. But when he called them, the police didn't believe him. We don't have enough evidence and they think my Uncle was delusional. So we gave up relying on them. This is not my first time. My Dad rescued me and I thought everything was perfect. But once he left and never came back, those guys attempt to take me back to that horrible place again."

"Uncle did his best to protect me but all of a sudden, he got a day job that forced him to work. It's like they wanted to separate him from me. A bit coincidence." The little girl replied with a deep tone. "Nezu-nii and I got stumbled at the Cheese store after I got away from those strangers ten times. At first, I see him as another stranger attempting to cause trouble but lately-"

"He's been keeping an eye on me, as if he wanted to check if I'm safe. I gave my courage and tell him my problems. He doesn't believe me at first but after seeing kidnappers who try to take me again, he helped me escape."

"And gave me advice to run away and not get caught. Nezu-nii also gave me this to fight back and escape." The girl named Inoka picked something from her bag and showed him a pepper spray. "A kid like me shouldn't hold a weapon like that. It doesn't make sense and-"

Her monologue got interrupted when Dandylion gave him a warm hug. "Don't say anymore. You've been through so much. I apologize for doubting you."

"What's that supposed to mean? You don't need to apologize mister." Inoka said. She doesn't want anyone to feel bad for her but Dandylion pat her head and tried to cheer her up.

"Alright, how about this? Once we're done with lunch, let's go to the Aquarium along with Nezumi."

"Really? We get to see fishes?" Inoka sparkled her eyes but then, she raised her head and realized something, "But then, those tickets, aren't they expensive for three of us to go there?"

"Relax kid. I've got it all covered for you." Dandylion showed her his credit card, which the Little girl smiled back and bounce in rejoice cheerfully.

After exploring the Zoo and Ocean park, Dandylion decided to take the kids home. He carried the little girl, who was sleeping, from his back.

He also offered to carry Nezumi in his back if he's exhausted but the teen immediately refused.

Still, he didn't expect the little girl Inoka to be brave today. Even if her story were lying, Dandylion couldn't ignore her expression when someone tries to take her away.

Even if one of them is a Staff worker, Dandylion sensed that guy was an impostor. He can tell them from their clothes, they should've got a walkie talkie or an ID on their shirt but nope, that worker was clearly trying to take her away. If he wasn't there on time, who knows where they'll take her away.

That was not the only part, he remembers someone was staring at Inoka when they explore the Aquarium.

Lucky that the girl's eyes were focused on the fishes, she would've gotten scared if she noticed her surroundings. Nezumi was also keeping eyes on her.

Unbelievable. To think this Rat warrior is more capable to protect an innocent girl than Police or any special forces.

Still, seeing their behavior makes clear. With Nezumi protecting Inoka. If the War Criminals decided to take Rat warrior down, who will protect her? Will she be lonely just like the past ten months without him?

Thinking about this makes him exhausting. Dandylion decided to discuss with his team after escorting them.

As they crossed the road, Nezumi raised his head and turned his eyes to the guy, who waves him back.

"Hey Nezumi, got a minute? I got something to talk with-" The man with a black coat noticed the teen wasn't alone. He crossed his arms as he greet them. "Well, it seems you brought some guests."

"Aren't you that guy from the riverbank? Rounder was it?" Dandylion said.

"And you must be Dandylion from the Military forces. Nice to see you again. Based on your looks, you seem to care those two." Rounder took a small peek to check the sleepy little girl in Dandylion's back and he gave him a chuckle.

"Shut it. Just what do you want?" Dandylion turned his eyes to Nezumi and continued, "If you're here for him, I'll go away."

"No need." Rounder shook his head with a calm smile. "In fact, I want you to join with us. We could use some extra time to give message with your friends, right?"

Dandylion doesn't like this. The way Rounder gave him a smirk with his playful look gives him a bad feeling.

He wanted to leave those guys and go home. But if he ignores his offer, Dandylion can't get info about his little War Veteran teams.

Dandylion tries to make a decision where he will uncover the whole secrets relating to the Mastermind for his team.

Meanwhile,

"That Symbol..."

An image of twelve diamonds surrounded by gears and chains. He's not mistaken, it's that secret insignia that is found from that Archipelago Island.

Sashitari wouldn't guess that small image has allowed them to uncover more secrets when he looked into their files from the government.

Right now, he was inside the secret computer room where he can access all documents that belong to the world. Sashitari can find the answers from the symbol that was left by Friendsheep and Mupple Bottle.

There used to be a strong password where he can't access but out of nowhere, a certain bug or a virus helped them destroy the passcodes, forcing the system to unlock their secret answers.

"Did you find anything, Sashitari?" Baron Sue asked

"This is bigger news than I expected." Sashitari replied as he scrolls the documents down online. "I never thought that unknown chip suddenly help us uncover everything."

"So you're saying we finally got our answers?" Sir Cancer stared at the screen beside him.

"I believe. I don't know who that strange chip being a reliable key to this but everything is clear." Sashitari said as he fired up. "We can find our answers! About time to show us."

According to the secret document, the Juuni Taisen organisation used to orchestrate the twelfth zodiac war in an urban ghost city ten months ago. Before that war breaks out, the organisation already knew the War Criminal's plan about disrupting the killing game and destroying their war.

So they decided to capture all members of the War Criminals with the help of their special ability users and their strongest group. Fourteen members have been fully captured and the higher ups planned to experiment them at Archipelago Island, hoping to become their soldiers in the next war.

However, that plan backfired when the VIP members were upset of the Twelfth war's outcome. It seems the winner of the Twelfth Zodiac war is the warrior they weren't voting for. None of them were able to make the right gamble and the game was set off.

The VIP members, gamblers and the richest were angry at the result and they thought the champion was cheated to reclaim his victory over them. This caused a lot of serious discussion and argument from the organisation. They thought the game was unfair and anti climatic. They weren't satisfied in the end and declare to restart the Twelfth Zodiac War again.

Four weeks after the Twelfth Champion has made his wish, the Juuni Taisen organisation has made their choice, to dispose the Rat Warrior and remake the Zodiac War again. However, there were traditional rules they need to fulfill, if the Champion survives another month, they have to partake the "Rite of Passage" trial.

The VIP members, gamblers and the richest people out there weren't pleased at the result and they thought the champion was cheated to reclaim his victory over them. This caused a lot of serious discussion and argument from the organisation. They thought the game was unfair and anti-climatic. They weren't satisfied in the end and declare to restart the Twelfth Zodiac War again.

Most champions used to partake in the Rite of Passage trial and no one passed it. Even if some of them are dead or do not exist, their souls will eventually destined to go through the impossible trial and participate by force.

Before that trial happens, the Juuni taisen organisation made a despicable act to order all the best hunters and warriors from different clans to eliminate the twelfth champion of the zodiac war.

However, they underestimate the clan's traditional ways to respect their group as they split into different factions and rebelled against each other.

Those who are against killing the twelfth champion are the Ox, Dog, Monkey and Boar clan. The rebellious clan opposed the organisation's orders, striking as a threat to break their traditional rules. Other times they planned to destroy the organisation and stop the mindless killing game for their clan's protection.

Despite that, the Juuni taisen's plan never stops as they sent more assassins or random warriors to dispose the Rat warrior in secret. Some of them put on a bounty to the Rat warrior as the most villainous champion who rebelled against the organisation.

They even spread fake news about the Twelfth champion mocking their warrior's legacy and death to their chosen candidates, which he earned a bad reputation and hunters to kill him.

The rebellion clans, on the other hand, refused to believe the organisation's words as they fought the assassins and hunters in order to protect the Rat warrior's normal life.

Coming from the Monkey clan, they have a vision about a strange prophecy that will change the war.

After the Rite of Passage, if the Rat warrior survives that time, he will destroy the Juuni taisen organisation and stop the whole war once and for all.

But the monkey clan didn't tell anyone except their colleague and the reliable member known as the Liberator. They were waiting for that opportunity and the right timing.

Sashitari kept scrolling the files until he saw a secret video file about a footage of the War Veterans infiltrating inside the Juuni taisen organisation.

Sir Cancer allows them to investigate and find out the events that took place where they weren't there. As they watched the video, Sir Cancer recognized those six War Veterans in the cameras followed by allied warriors.

The War Veterans also happens to invite two people in the centre, the Rat Warrior and the mysterious guy with a black hood. The last scene was the part where the Rat warrior attempted to command that stranger while raising his hand and then, the moment that stranger raised his head and call out,

The War Veterans and their allied forces have suddenly disappeared. The Rat warrior and that stranger were there when guns and swords from the organisation's security team were pointing at them.

Just as they were going to shoot them, that stranger suddenly makes weird movements and then, they exhaled a weird gas, spreading around and causing the people to knock down.

Not only that but the Rat warrior looks desperate to command that stranger to stop moving around and released something called the "Plague", forcing the organisation team in panic. His expression seems melancholic, pale and saddened to see the black hooded guy exhaling toxic gasses around the areas.

It was the first time they saw the Rat warrior's tears flowing before he disappear like the rest of the War Veterans. Once the black hooded guy crossed the fallen enemies with his Plague, the video cuts out.

The video footage became corrupted as they glitched out and end the whole scene. The last document has no continuation text, meaning the latest records might discarded or scrambled out away.

Sashitari searched that mysterious guy who started the Plague and Sir Cancer looked into more details of the War Veteran's actions and plans that connects the whole point. It took an hour to investigate that event regarding the fate of the Surviving War Veterans and the Juuni Taisen organisations.

Baron Sue reviewed all their discoveries that the Rat Warrior, Nezumi, was the mastermind behind the plague. He released that Black hooded guy, who was the warrior with a dangerous ability from his clan and help him escape to use his Plague ability to infect all the people from the organisation.

During that Plague, Nezumi made a right plan to gather all his enemies and big shots in the country to get affected by the virus. Those who got succumbed to the Uncurable diseased are the VIP group, rich people, Hunters, assassins and all members of the Juuni taisen organisations. All of his enemies has fallen right into his trap.

His alliance with the War Veterans got spared and brought to a peaceful country with no wars and the War Criminals, who got stuck in the Archipelago Island, have forgotten but survived from the Organisation's hands.

Now that his enemies or the world were sick to fight, their leaders decided to stop the war and focused on their survival for their people. While trying to find the cure and overcome their Plague, they somehow lost connection to their neighbor countries.

Only Nezumi's peaceful home was safe. Even the War Veterans, the innocent victims and their allied forces have survived and remained in this country.

There were no wars or plagues getting news from this nation. It was good victory for the rebellious side.

However, they noticed the Rat Warrior wasn't there with them. In fact, he disappeared after the War ended. No one knew where he went until now.

As soon as they uncovered everything, the three War Criminals were speechless. They finally learned why the Whole War was ended.

The Juuni taisen organisation was no more and the outside world was in total chaos. Their whole pandemic might be active and this peaceful country could be the only safest place in the world right now.

No wonder everyone were so ignorant outside. They couldn't connect with their neighbour countries due to that strange Plague that stops the war.

Now that they know the truth, what are they gonna do now? Sashitari and Baron Sue shared their look until they waited for Sir Cancer's decision.

"Leader, I think we should tell everyone about this." Sashitari decided. He doesn't want to live with regrets and hopes he could share this burden along with his team.

"Unacceptable." Baron Sue snapped out. "He still deserve Justice. That Rat Boy used that plague to stop the war but, we need answers to his actions. Doctor Finnish still needs to learn more about the Plague. We were curious to find the War outside, only to find out it's already over."

"I don't know what to say. I have a feeling without war, it's over for us." Sashitari looked down with his solemn mood, only to get a loud tap sound on a ground as Sir Cancer held his umbrella and stood up.

"It's not over yet." Sir Cancer said seriously. "The Mastermind is out there, trying to destroy us in secret. Even if the Organisation is out of our threat, those Shadowy warriors and that sneaky puppet master wants to hunt us down. One by one. We shouldn't let our guards down."

"I understand." Baron Sue nodded. "And what about the Rat warrior? And his War Veteran companions? Should we go you know, negotiate with them peacefully?"

"I'm afraid it will take time. Though, I'm open for having peaceful negotiations with them." Sir Cancer sighed back. He wears his hat as he slowly walks in and stares at the ceiling, "After coming here, we do have some share enemies who watches us from afar. It was only a month that our battle has just started. We'll have to tell our team once we're assembled."

Before they saved the documents and their secret files to the memory disk, Sashitari received a text from his teammates. As he checks the text with an image, he was shocked that his hands were shaking quietly. He looked at the leader in distressed and said,

"Uumm.. guys.. you might want to check this out."

Baron Sue and Sir Cancer followed his gaze as they find out about the message, there was an image of a beat up and bruised woman with a lab coat. She leaned on the wall, getting injured in front of a someone they recognise.

"What is the meaning of this?" Baron Sue finally asked. "Why is Doctor Finnish getting attacked by that War Veteran Broker?"

Stoic, Judgmental and Passionate for their job. As the judge and second strategist of the group, they will decide their next course of action before executing their plan. Their goal wants to judge every warriors and sinners according to the law to seek justice for the right path. Most of the time, they prefer reading a book in solemn places and they wanted to drink different kinds of tea.

Despite knowing their sinner's past, they will try their best to help them move on as a way to stop repeating the same mistakes in the past. Whenever their team lose their morale choice, they will help them recover by giving ideals to understand their values and sinful judgement to live and most of all, they will guide their team by giving them rules to help them live in a society as a normal people.
