Welcome

### **Chapter 23: Morning Mysteries**

The first rays of sunlight filtered into the room, gently illuminating Ino's face as she stirred awake. Her dreams from the night lingered, vivid and undeniable. Her cheeks flushed a deep crimson as she became aware of the dampness between her thighs.

*No way…* she thought, sitting up quickly. Her hands moved instinctively to her shorts, confirming what she already knew.

The fabric of her underwear was soaked.

Ino's cheeks flushed an even deeper shade of red as she recalled the strange twist her dream had taken. "I can't believe it… Naruto-kun's mom?" she whispered, burying her face in her hands. "This is so embarrassing!"

Naruto's mother.

But as embarrassing as the dream had been, she couldn't deny the deeper truth it hinted at. She wanted Naruto—not just as a friend or a teammate, but completely, in every way imaginable.

Glancing over at the empty spot beside her, she frowned. *He didn't sleep here again.*

"Running away as usual," she muttered, slipping out of bed.

After a quick shower to compose herself, Ino slipped into a pair of light, casual clothes: a fitted tank top and shorts that left little to the imagination. She made her way to Naruto's office, where she found him in his usual position—slumped over his desk, fast asleep.

But something was different this time.

She stepped closer, her brow furrowing as she noticed the faint bruises on his face. His skin was marred by what looked like the remnants of a fight.

"This is strange," she said softly, crouching beside him. "What happened to you, Naruto-kun?"

Gently, she reached out and shook his shoulder. "Naruto, wake up."

He groaned, slowly stirring awake. His blue eyes blinked open, bleary and tired, and he looked up at her. "Ino?"

"Good morning," she said, her voice tinged with concern. "Care to explain why your face looks like you got into a fight with a brick wall?"

Naruto hesitated, sitting up straighter. "It's nothing."

"Nothing?" she repeated, crossing her arms. "Naruto, I'm not stupid. Something happened last night. Spill it."

"I told you, it's nothing," he insisted, his tone firm.

Ino wasn't convinced. Her gaze drifted to his hands, where she noticed faint discoloration and swelling on his knuckles. She grabbed one of his hands, and Naruto winced, unable to hide his pain.

"Your hand's injured too," she said, her voice growing more serious. "Naruto, what's going on?"

He pulled his hand away, shaking his head. "It's no big deal, really."

Ino sighed, her frustration mounting. "Fine, I'll drop it for now," she said, placing her hands over his injured one. A soft green glow emanated from her palms as she used her medical ninjutsu to heal him. Within moments, the bruises and swelling faded, and his hand looked as good as new.

"There," she said, standing up. "All better. But I'm not letting this go, Naruto. I know something happened, and I'm going to figure out what."

As she turned to leave, her eyes caught sight of a scroll partially tucked beneath a stack of papers on his desk. She paused, her curiosity piqued, and reached for it.

"What's this?" she asked, holding up the scroll.

Naruto's eyes widened. "Ino, don't—"

Too late. She opened it, her eyes scanning the ancient text. The words sent a chill down her spine.

*'In the end times, a boy will emerge—a child of destiny. He will either save the world or lead it to its ultimate destruction.'*

Ino's gaze snapped back to Naruto. "What is this?"

"It's nothing," he said quickly, standing and snatching the scroll from her hands. He shoved it back into the pile of papers. "Just some old prophecy. It doesn't mean anything."

But Ino wasn't buying it. She could see the tension in his posture, the way he avoided her gaze.

"Whatever you're hiding, Naruto, it's hurting you," she said softly. "You don't have to face it alone, you know."

He didn't respond, brushing past her on his way to the bathroom. Ino watched him go, her heart heavy with worry.

Determined to give him some space, Ino decided to prepare breakfast. As she moved around the kitchen, her mind raced with thoughts of the scroll and Naruto's injuries.

*He's not telling me everything,* she thought. *But why? What's he trying to protect me from?*

As she set the table, she heard the bathroom door open. Naruto emerged, his hair damp from his shower, and made his way to the kitchen.

But as he passed the laundry basket, something caught his eye.

Ino's discarded shorts, still damp from her dream.

His cheeks turned bright red as he quickly looked away, trying to banish the thought from his mind. *Stop it, stop it,* he told himself, but the image lingered.

He joined Ino at the table, doing his best to act normal.

"Breakfast smells great," he said, sitting down.

"Thanks," she replied, setting a plate in front of him. She studied him for a moment, then smiled mischievously.

Before Naruto could take a bite, Ino plopped herself onto his lap, straddling him.

"Ino!" he exclaimed, his face burning with embarrassment.

"What?" she said innocently, wrapping her arms around his neck. "I like sitting here."

Naruto gulped, his hands hovering awkwardly at his sides. "You're… uh… kind of close."

She leaned in, her face inches from his. "I'll get closer if you don't start telling me the truth about last night."

"I told you, nothing happened!" he insisted, his voice cracking.

"Liar," she said, her eyes narrowing. "You're hiding something, Naruto-kun. And I'm not getting up until you tell me."

Naruto tried to maintain his composure, but the proximity was too much. Her scent, her warmth, the way her body pressed against his—it was overwhelming.

"Ino…" he started, but she cut him off by pressing her lips to his.

The kiss was brief but left him speechless.

"See?" she said, her voice soft but teasing. "You don't have to hide from me. Whatever it is, we'll face it together."

Naruto's heart pounded in his chest. Despite her playful demeanor, he could see the genuine concern in her eyes.

"Now," she said, cupping his cheek. "Who's my good boy?"

Naruto's face turned a deeper shade of red. "Ino… please get off me."

"Nope," she said with a smirk. "I like it right here."

He sighed, resigning himself to his fate. *This girl is going to be the death of me,* he thought, though a small smile tugged at the corner of his lips.

### **

After finishing breakfast, Naruto and Ino prepared to leave the apartment. Naruto grabbed his jacket while Ino stood in front of the mirror, checking her hair and outfit. She wore a casual yet stylish ensemble—a light sundress that complemented her figure.

"Ready to go?" she asked, turning to him with a cheerful smile.

"Yeah," he replied, adjusting the headband tied around his arm.

As they stepped outside, Ino reached for his hand, intertwining her fingers with his as they walked through the bustling streets of the village. Naruto initially tensed at the gesture but didn't pull away.

Ino swung their hands slightly as they walked, chatting about her plans for the day at the flower shop. "You'll help me with the new orders, right, Naruto-kun?"

"Sure," he muttered, though his thoughts were elsewhere.

As they passed through the village square, a familiar voice called out from behind them.

"Ino… Naruto."

It was Sakura. She stood a few feet away, her green eyes locked onto their joined hands. Her expression betrayed her emotions—an unmistakable mix of jealousy and longing.

Ino glanced at Sakura, her lips curling into a small, triumphant smile. "Oh, hey, Sakura. Nice day, isn't it?"

Naruto didn't say anything. He barely even looked at Sakura, his gaze fixed ahead as if she wasn't there.

Sakura's heart sank. She clenched her fists, feeling a sharp pang of jealousy. *Why him?* she thought. *Why does she get to have him like this?*

For years, she had taken Naruto's feelings for granted, dismissing them while chasing after Sasuke. Now, seeing him with Ino, so close and intimate, made her stomach twist with regret.

Ino's voice broke through her thoughts. "Well, we've got things to do. See you around, Sakura."

Without waiting for a reply, Ino tugged Naruto along, leaving Sakura standing there. The green-eyed kunoichi watched as they walked away, her heart heavy with emotions she couldn't sort through.

Elsewhere in the village, two figures stood in the shadows of an alley.

"Did you see that?" Suikar said, his voice dripping with mockery.

Malrik leaned against the wall, his arms crossed. "What now, Suikar?"

"That girl—Sakura, wasn't it? She's burning with jealousy. It's pathetic."

Malrik sighed. "Why are you wasting time with trivialities? Focus on the bigger picture. You're underestimating Naruto Uzumaki, and that arrogance will be your downfall."

Suikar scoffed. "I'm not underestimating him. I'm simply acknowledging the inevitable. His power is nothing compared to mine."

"You're a fool if you think that," Malrik said, his tone sharp. "Naruto didn't become a legend by chance. He's faced challenges far beyond what you can imagine, and he's emerged stronger every time. Don't let your pride blind you to reality."

Suikar smirked. "Reality is what I make it. You'll see soon enough." With that, he vanished into thin air, leaving Malrik shaking his head.

"Hmph. Arrogant as ever," Malrik muttered. "Your overconfidence will be the end of you, Suikar."

Back at the flower shop, Naruto was lost in thought as he arranged bouquets. Memories of his fight with Suikar the previous night replayed in his mind. He had barely managed to hold his own, and the implications of Suikar's words weighed heavily on him.

*What's his next move? How do I prepare for something like this?*

"Naruto-kun?"

Ino's voice snapped him out of his thoughts. She was standing in front of him, her hands on her hips and a playful pout on her lips.

"Uh… yeah?" he said, blinking.

"You weren't listening, were you?" she teased.

"Sorry," he muttered.

"What were you thinking about?" she asked, her tone softening.

"Nothing," he replied quickly, avoiding her gaze.

Ino stepped closer, leaning in until her face was inches from his. "Nothing, huh? Look me in the eyes and say that."

Naruto hesitated, his blue eyes meeting her piercing gaze. For a moment, he thought she might see through him entirely.

Before he could answer, the bell above the shop's door chimed, signaling a customer's arrival.

"Hello?" a soft voice called.

Both Naruto and Ino turned to see Hinata standing at the entrance, her hands clasped nervously in front of her.

"Hinata!" Ino greeted her cheerfully. "What can I help you with?"

"I… I need some flowers," Hinata said, her eyes darting briefly to Naruto before looking away.

"Sure thing! What kind are you looking for?" Ino asked, walking over to her.

As Ino prepared the bouquet, she couldn't help but notice the way Hinata's gaze lingered on Naruto. It wasn't hard to tell what the shy Hyūga was feeling—her affection for him was written all over her face.

When Ino handed her the flowers, she leaned in slightly and said, "Anything else you need?"

Hinata shook her head quickly. "N-no, thank you. That's all."

As Hinata turned to leave, Ino watched her go, a knowing smirk playing on her lips. *So, that's how it is, huh?*

After the door closed behind Hinata, Ino turned back to Naruto, who was busy rearranging some flowers.

"She likes you, you know," Ino said casually.

"Huh?" Naruto looked up, confused.

"Hinata," Ino clarified. "It's so obvious."

Naruto frowned. "Don't start with that."

"I'm just saying," Ino teased, walking over to him. "You really are oblivious, Naruto-kun."

"Can we just focus on work?" he said, clearly uncomfortable with the topic.

Ino laughed, shaking her head. "Fine, fine. But don't think this conversation is over."

As the day went on, Ino couldn't help but glance at Naruto every now and then. Despite his calm exterior, she could sense the tension beneath the surface. Whatever had happened last night, it was still weighing on him—and she was determined to find out what.

### **

Naruto's thoughts weighed heavily on him as he sat silently in the flower shop. His mind kept replaying the events of the previous night: the fight with Suikar, the taunts, and the bitter truth of his struggles. He clenched his fist under the counter, the faint sting of his recently healed injuries serving as a reminder of how far things had escalated.

Across the room, Ino watched him carefully. She had noticed his distant expression all day, his lack of focus, and the subtle tension in his shoulders. Something was eating away at him, and she couldn't ignore it any longer.

"Naruto-kun," she called softly, stepping closer to him.

He didn't respond, his gaze fixed on the countertop in front of him.

"Naruto-kun," she repeated, more firmly this time, as she leaned down toward him.

Still no response.

Ino frowned, her frustration bubbling to the surface. Without another word, she grabbed his face and kissed him firmly on the lips.

Naruto's eyes widened in shock, his body stiffening as her warm lips pressed against his. The kiss was brief but enough to snap him out of his thoughts. When she pulled away, he was blushing furiously, his face as red as a tomato.

"Ino! W-what are you doing?" he stammered.

She smirked, leaning in closer until her nose almost touched his. "You're too quiet, Naruto-kun. Tell me, what's on your mind?"

"Nothing," he muttered, turning his face away.

Ino narrowed her eyes, clearly not buying his answer. She stepped closer, forcing him to back away until his back hit the wall.

"You're not getting away that easily," she teased, pressing herself against him. Her ample chest pressed firmly against his torso, causing his blush to deepen.

"Ino, stop!" he protested, his voice cracking slightly.

"No," she said firmly, her fingers gently tracing along his jawline. "You've been like this all day. You can't hide from me, Naruto-kun. What's going on?"

Naruto swallowed hard, his heart pounding in his chest. Her intense gaze, her proximity, the way she refused to back down—it was overwhelming.

"You're impossible," he muttered under his breath, trying to avert his gaze.

She leaned even closer, her lips brushing against his ear. "You can't keep running from me, Naruto-kun. I'll get the truth out of you eventually."

With that, she pulled away, leaving him flustered and at a complete loss for words. Ino smirked at his reaction, clearly pleased with herself.

"You've escaped for now, but I'll be back," she said playfully, giving his cheek a light pat before walking away.

Naruto let out a deep breath, his blush still lingering as he straightened up. *She's going to be the death of me,* he thought.

The need for fresh air drove Naruto out of the shop and into the village streets. His thoughts swirled as he walked aimlessly, trying to shake off the tension.

But the uneasy feeling of being watched lingered. He could sense it—the subtle prickle on the back of his neck, the faint shift in the air.

"You can come out now," he said coldly, stopping in the middle of an empty alleyway.

A slow, mocking clap echoed behind him.

"Well, well. Look who's sharp today," Suikar said as he stepped out of the shadows, his smirk as infuriating as ever.

Naruto turned to face him, his expression hardening. "What do you want?"

Suikar chuckled. "Oh, don't play dumb. I think it's time we finished what we started last night."

Naruto clenched his fists, the faint glow of chakra beginning to emanate from his body. "I don't have time for your games."

"Games?" Suikar mocked. "This isn't a game, Uzumaki. This is your end."

Without warning, Suikar lunged forward, his hand crackling with dark energy. Naruto barely had time to dodge, leaping back as the ground where he'd stood exploded in a burst of destructive power.

Naruto retaliated immediately, forming a Rasengan in his hand and charging at Suikar. The orb of swirling chakra hummed with deadly precision as he aimed for Suikar's chest.

Suikar sidestepped at the last moment, his speed unnerving. He countered with a sweeping kick, but Naruto blocked it with his forearm, the impact sending a shockwave through the air.

"You've gotten faster," Suikar said, grinning. "But not fast enough."

The two clashed repeatedly, their attacks echoing through the empty street. Naruto's movements were precise, his focus razor-sharp despite his injuries. Suikar, however, seemed to enjoy the chaos, his smirk never leaving his face.

"You're holding back," Suikar taunted. "Is it because you're afraid of breaking something? Or maybe you're scared of waking up your precious girlfriend?"

Naruto's eyes narrowed. "Shut up."

He slammed his foot into the ground, creating a shockwave that forced Suikar to lose his balance. Taking advantage of the opening, Naruto charged forward, delivering a powerful punch to Suikar's gut.

Suikar staggered back, clutching his stomach. "Not bad," he admitted. "But you'll have to do better than that."

Dark energy began to swirl around Suikar, his power intensifying. He launched a series of attacks, each one faster and more vicious than the last. Naruto barely managed to keep up, his body screaming in protest as he blocked and dodged.

"You're getting tired," Suikar said, his grin widening. "It's only a matter of time."

Naruto didn't respond. Instead, he focused his chakra, creating multiple shadow clones to even the odds. The clones attacked in unison, overwhelming Suikar with a barrage of strikes.

But Suikar was relentless. He destroyed the clones one by one, his laughter echoing through the battlefield.

"You're predictable, Uzumaki," he sneered.

Naruto gritted his teeth, pouring more chakra into his Rasengan. This time, he created a massive version of the attack, the swirling sphere radiating with destructive energy.

"Let's see you handle this," Naruto said, charging forward.

Suikar's eyes widened slightly, but he didn't back down. He met Naruto's attack head-on, their powers colliding in a blinding explosion of light and energy.

The impact sent both of them flying. Naruto skidded to a halt, his body aching from the strain. Suikar, however, seemed unfazed, his smirk still intact.

"You're strong, I'll give you that," Suikar said, brushing himself off. "But strength alone won't save you."

Before Naruto could react, Suikar struck him with a powerful blast of dark energy, sending him hurtling through the air. He crashed into the ground, rolling to the edge of a steep hill.

Suikar stood at the top, looking down at him with a triumphant grin. "Better luck next time, hero," he said before disappearing into the shadows.

Naruto groaned, his body aching as he tried to push himself up. But the pain was too much, and he collapsed back onto the ground, his vision fading to black.

### **

The flower shop was eerily silent, the hum of the village outside only amplifying Ino's growing worry. She paced back and forth, glancing at the clock on the wall. Naruto had been gone far too long. At first, she thought he was just clearing his head, but as the minutes stretched into an hour and more, her worry deepened.

"This isn't like him," she muttered, wringing her hands. Her blue eyes flicked to the door, her heart hammering with unease.

She stepped outside, looking up and down the bustling street. The villagers were going about their daily routines, oblivious to her growing concern.

"Where are you, Naruto-kun?" she whispered, biting her lip.

The unease gnawed at her. Finally, unable to stand it any longer, she closed the shop. Locking the door, she set off into the village to find him.

Naruto lay sprawled on the ground, unconscious. His body ached from head to toe, bruises forming from the impact of his fight with Suikar. In the stillness of his unconsciousness, his mind drifted into a strange dream.

He found himself standing in a vast, barren landscape, a faint mist swirling around him. In the distance, something gleamed—a sword unlike any he had seen before.

The weapon was massive, its blade radiating an ethereal light. Its hilt was ornate, encrusted with glowing symbols that seemed to pulse with life. The closer Naruto got, the more he felt its overwhelming power. It called to him, its presence both alluring and intimidating.

Reaching out, his fingers brushed the hilt of the sword. A sudden surge of energy coursed through him, and he heard a voice—deep and resonant.

*"Will you wield me, chosen one?"*

Naruto's eyes snapped open, the vision vanishing like smoke. He groaned, clutching his pounding head as he tried to make sense of what he'd just seen.

"What… was that?" he muttered, sitting up slowly. His body screamed in protest, the pain from Suikar's attack still fresh.

Kurama's voice rumbled in his mind, snapping him out of his thoughts.

*"You're reckless, Naruto. That fight could have killed you. You need to think before charging into battles like that. Suikar is no ordinary enemy."*

Naruto winced, rubbing the back of his neck. *"I didn't have a choice, Kurama. He's not going to stop until one of us is dead."*

*"Then you need to be smarter. Stronger. If you keep letting your emotions cloud your judgment, you're going to get yourself killed. Remember, you're not fighting for yourself anymore. You have people who care about you, people who are depending on you."*

Naruto let Kurama's words sink in, the weight of them pressing on his chest. He couldn't deny the truth. He had been reckless, and it was a miracle he was still alive.

With a groan, he pushed himself to his feet, swaying slightly as the world spun around him. His injuries were severe, but he couldn't stay here. He had to move.

Step by agonizing step, he began making his way back toward the village. The path was rough, his vision blurry, but he pressed on, determined not to let Suikar win.

Ino's search led her through nearly every corner of the village. She checked all the usual places Naruto might go—the training grounds, Ichiraku's, even the Hokage's office. But there was no sign of him.

Her heart pounded with worry. "Where are you, Naruto-kun?" she murmured.

Dark thoughts crept into her mind, ones she quickly shook away. "No. He wouldn't leave the village. He wouldn't leave me. He's my future husband, after all," she said aloud, trying to reassure herself.

But as the hours ticked by, her worry only deepened. She began to imagine the worst.

Finally, as she wandered near the outskirts of the village, she spotted a familiar figure limping toward her. Her breath caught in her throat.

"Naruto!" she cried, sprinting toward him.

Naruto barely had time to react before she launched herself at him, wrapping her arms around his neck. Her weight nearly sent him toppling over, but he managed to steady himself.

"Ino…" he muttered weakly, his voice hoarse.

"Where have you been?!" she demanded, her voice trembling with a mix of relief and anger. "I've been looking everywhere for you! I thought… I thought you might have left the village!"

Naruto shook his head, trying to reassure her. "I didn't leave. I just… needed some air."

Ino pulled back, her sharp eyes scanning his face. That's when she noticed the fresh bruises and cuts. Her heart sank.

"You're hurt," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

"It's nothing," he said quickly, but she wasn't convinced.

Grabbing his arm, she examined him more closely. "This isn't nothing, Naruto-kun! What happened to you?"

Naruto tried to pull away, but she held on tightly. "I said it's nothing, Ino. Just drop it."

Her expression darkened, a rare flash of anger crossing her features. "No. You're going to tell me what's going on right now."

"Ino, I—"

She didn't let him finish. With surprising strength, she shoved him backward, forcing him to the ground. Before he could react, she straddled him, pinning him in place.

"Ino, what are you doing?!" he exclaimed, his face flushing as her hands grabbed his cheeks, holding his head firmly in place.

Her grip was surprisingly strong, her fingers digging into his skin. "You're not getting away this time, Naruto-kun. Tell me what's going on, or I'll squeeze harder."

Naruto winced, the pressure on his face intensifying. "Ino, stop! You're hurting me!"

"Good. Maybe pain will make you talk," she said, her voice icy.

Naruto groaned, his resistance crumbling under her determination. "Fine! Fine! I'll tell you!"

She eased up slightly, her piercing gaze never leaving his. "I'm listening."

Taking a deep breath, Naruto explained everything—the fight with Suikar, the threat he posed, and the lingering danger hanging over their heads. Ino listened intently, her expression shifting from anger to shock and finally to resolve.

"So that lunatic is after you," she said, her voice low.

Naruto nodded. "Yes. And he's not going to stop until one of us is dead."

Ino's jaw tightened. "We need to tell Lady Tsunade about this. Suikar is too dangerous to handle alone."

"No," Naruto said firmly. "I don't want to drag anyone else into this. It's my fight."

Ino's eyes flashed with anger. "No, Naruto-kun. It's not just your fight anymore. You're not alone in this, and I won't let you face him by yourself."

He opened his mouth to protest, but she cut him off.

"Listen to me," she said, her tone softening. "I've seen what Suikar is capable of. He destroyed half the village in seconds the last time he was here. If we don't stop him, he'll do it again. We need to go to Tsunade. She'll know what to do."

Naruto hesitated, the weight of her words sinking in. Finally, he nodded. "Alright. Let's go."

Ino smiled, her relief evident as she helped him to his feet. "Good. Now, let's get back before Suikar decides to make another move."

As they headed back toward the village, Naruto couldn't help but feel a renewed sense of determination. With Ino by his side, he knew he wouldn't have to face the darkness alone

### **

Ino stood in Tsunade's office, her arms crossed tightly against her chest, exuding both frustration and determination. She had just recounted everything—Suikar's attack, Naruto's injuries, and the dangerous games being played in the shadows.

Tsunade leaned back in her chair, her fingers steepled as she considered the weight of Ino's words. "So, Suikar is still out there," she muttered, her golden eyes narrowing. "And Naruto is his target."

Ino nodded firmly. "Yes. He's relentless, and Naruto won't tell me everything, but I know this isn't over. We need to act now, Lady Tsunade, before it's too late."

Tsunade sighed, rubbing her temples. "Naruto... that idiot. He never knows when to let someone else take the reins." She glanced at the window, her voice softening. "He's too stubborn for his own good."

Outside the office, Naruto paced the hallway, his hands clenched into fists. He was still fuming—not at Ino, not even at Suikar, but at himself. His thoughts were a chaotic mess, spiraling back to the dream he'd had after the battle.

That sword.

The vision of the massive, radiant blade haunted him. The voice that spoke in his dream was clear as day in his mind: *"Will you wield me, chosen one?"*

Naruto didn't know what it meant, but the dream felt more like a memory—or a warning—than a figment of his imagination. He gritted his teeth, frustrated that the details of the sword were slipping away like sand through his fingers.

Kurama, ever vigilant in Naruto's mind, broke the silence. *"You're dwelling on that dream too much, kid. Focus on what's in front of you."*

"But what if it's important?" Naruto shot back mentally. "That sword... I could feel it. It wasn't just some random dream."

*"And that scroll Tsunade gave you—don't forget about that,"* Kurama reminded him.

Naruto's thoughts shifted to the scroll. It was sealed tightly and required his blood to open. The words etched inside were cryptic: *"In the end times, will you restore the legacy of your ancestors or bring about the world's destruction?"*

"I didn't ask for this," Naruto muttered under his breath. "I don't want to be some chosen one, or whatever that means."

Kurama chuckled darkly. *"Too bad, because the world always has other plans for you. That's the price you pay for being a hero."*

The door to Tsunade's office opened abruptly, and Ino stepped out, her expression serious but confident. "Let's go, Naruto-kun," she said, her voice cutting through his brooding thoughts.

He nodded silently, following her down the corridor as Tsunade picked up the phone to call Shikamaru.

Meanwhile, far from Konoha, Malrik sat in a dimly lit chamber. His fingers traced the surface of a small vial containing a few precious drops of Naruto's blood.

"So... the end of Suikar is near," Malrik mused, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "How amusing. His arrogance will be his downfall, as I predicted."

He chuckled darkly, holding the vial up to the light. "But why waste an opportunity like this? Perhaps it's time to summon someone else to the stage. The Queen of Fire, Shuryo."

Malrik's laughter echoed through the room, filled with malevolent intent.

Later that evening, Naruto found himself lying on the couch in the apartment he shared with Ino. He had been forced to rest after Tsunade and Ino both insisted he take it easy to recover from his injuries.

Ino sat beside him, her legs stretched out gracefully. She wore a casual outfit: a pair of tight, comfortable shorts and a plain sports bra. As she leaned over him to apply her healing chakra, her emerald-green glow illuminated the room.

Naruto's head rested on her lap, and despite the soothing warmth of her healing chakra, he couldn't help but feel embarrassed. His face burned with a deep blush as her delicate fingers ran through his unruly blond hair.

"Ino... I can manage on my own," he mumbled, trying to sit up.

"Oh, no, you don't," she said firmly, pushing him back down. "You're not moving until I'm done."

"But I—"

"Shhh," she interrupted, a playful smile tugging at her lips. "Just relax, Naruto-kun."

Her fingers continued to comb through his hair, and Naruto's blush deepened. He felt like a child being doted on, and it was mortifying. Kurama, ever the spectator, snickered in the back of his mind.

*"Look at you, mighty hero of Konoha, reduced to this. Pathetic."*

"Shut up," Naruto hissed internally.

Ino tilted her head, noticing his discomfort. "What's wrong? Is my lap not comfortable enough for you?"

"N-no! It's not that!" he stammered, avoiding her gaze.

Her laughter filled the room, light and teasing. "You're too cute when you're flustered, you know that?"

Naruto groaned, covering his face with his hands. "This is so embarrassing."

As she worked, Ino couldn't help but admire him. The way his golden hair caught the light, the strength in his features despite the exhaustion in his eyes. He had come so far, endured so much, and yet he kept going.

Her gaze lingered on his lips for a moment, her thoughts drifting to places she tried to suppress. She felt a surge of heat low in her abdomen, a fire she struggled to control.

*Not now,* she told herself, biting her lip. *He's not ready for that.*

Instead, she focused on the tenderness of the moment, brushing her thumb gently against his cheek.

"Time for bed, Naruto-kun," she said softly, her voice laced with affection.

Naruto sat up slowly, still avoiding her gaze. "Yeah... thanks, Ino."

He stood to leave, but she grabbed his wrist, stopping him.

"And where do you think you're going?" she asked, a mischievous glint in her eyes.

"To sleep?" he replied, confused.

She chuckled, shaking her head. "You really think I'm going to let you sleep alone tonight?"

"What do you mean?" he asked, his blush returning in full force.

Without another word, she tugged him toward the bedroom, her grip firm and unyielding. Naruto didn't resist—he doubted he could, even if he tried.

Once inside, she pushed him gently onto the bed, a playful smirk on her lips. She reached behind her back, unclasping her sports bra and letting it fall away, freeing her ample chest. Naruto's eyes widened in shock, his face practically glowing red.

"Ino!" he exclaimed, his voice cracking.

"Relax, Naruto-kun," she said, climbing onto the bed and settling herself on top of him. "I'm just getting comfortable."

Kurama howled with laughter in the back of his mind. *"You're doomed, kid. Absolutely doomed."*

Ino leaned down, resting her head on his chest, her golden hair spilling over him like a curtain. Naruto froze, too embarrassed to move.
