When they arrive in Tree Hill, Brooke is surprised to see that Lucas is not driving her home, but to his. The doctor having advised her to rest, Lucas has indeed decided to watch over her, to her great pleasure. This is why Brooke finds herself comfortably installed on Lucas' couch a few minutes later. Lucas then comes to sit next to her to place little kisses on her face.
LUCAS : I'm going to have to go to work, my pretty. If you have the slightest problem, don't hesitate to call me, okay? And when I come back tonight, I'll be all yours. I love you.
BROOKE : I love you too.
Lucas leaves her alone, after taking her mouth one last time lovingly. Brooke then takes advantage of the rest of the day to rest as planned, but also to wander around the house. She takes the time to examine the shelves and discover Lucas' favorite books and films. However, like the first time, she realizes that there are no photos of her family on her shelves either. She realizes, however, when going to Lucas' room, that he has a photo of the two of them on his nightstand. She hadn't seen it the night she slept here and it therefore surprises her a little. Nevertheless, not wanting to violate her privacy further, she goes back to lie down and ends up falling asleep.
It's a kiss that wakes Brooke up while night has already fallen outside. Opening her eyes, she smiles immediately when she sees that Lucas is leaning over her, covering her with a tender look.
LUCAS : Did you sleep well?
BROOKE : Like a baby.
LUCAS : I'm going to go take a shower and change and then I'll make you dinner. Okay?
Nodding silently, Lucas then takes Brooke's lips again, before going up to the bathroom. Brooke takes the opportunity to stretch like a cat, get up, then go to the kitchen. Not knowing the house, she then begins to search the cupboards and drawers to find dishes. This is how Lucas finds her shortly after showering and taking off her uniform. He can't help but hug her from behind and kiss her neck, making her shiver.
LUCAS : I'm happy to see this house finally filled with your presence.
Hearing his words, Brooke immediately turns around in his arms, without understanding.
BROOKE : What do you mean?
LUCAS : I mean you're home, love. I bought this house with the idea that one day we could share it.
In shock, Lucas then takes Brooke's silence for a refusal and apologizes.
LUCAS : Forgive me for telling you about this. I know it's still too early.
Finally coming to her senses, Brooke quickly answers him to reassure him.
BROOKE : No... On the contrary. I would be very happy to share this house with you. It's just that I didn't expect it. Did you really buy this house with me in mind?
LUCAS : Yes.
Mad with happiness, Brooke puts her arms around his neck to kiss him for a long time, Lucas holding her against him. When they separate finally, Brooke can see that Lucas' eyes are filled with desire, which he seems to want to repress.
LUCAS : I want you terribly, but I prefer that we talk first, my love.
BROOKE : Me too, but you're right.
Lucas gives her a last kiss on the nose, then starts preparing the meal. Brooke then discovers that he is an excellent cook, when once seated at the table she finally tastes his dish.
After they finish eating, Lucas and Brooke are settled on the couch in the living room. Sitting very close to her man, Brooke waits patiently for him to be ready to talk to her. She can see that the words are hard to find as his breathing becomes heavier. Taking a breath, Lucas finally decides to go for it, his features tense and their fingers tangled.
LUCAS : If you were lucky enough to grow up in a loving family, that was not the case for me, Brooke.
BROOKE : What do you mean?
LUCAS : That my parents should never have gotten married, let alone had a child.
BROOKE : Why?
LUCAS : Because they were trash who did drugs and drank constantly. I don't know why they got married. They couldn't stand each other and fought all the time. And it didn't get any better when I was born, quite the opposite in fact. My father blamed my mother for getting pregnant and even said I wasn't his. He called me a bastard. That's why I spent all my time at your house.
BROOKE : Did social services get involved?
LUCAS : Yes, several times. They would put me in a home, but my mother would always come back and say she was going to change. Unfortunately, even though she tried so hard, it never lasted very long. When I came home, it all started again. Until one day she left. She disappeared when I was 10 and left me alone with my father. Those years with him were worse than the ones before because he said it was because of me that she left. We would argue all the time, until one day it reached the point of no return.
BROOKE : What happened?
LUCAS : I killed him by accident.
BROOKE : How?
LUCAS : When I was 17, a bigger argument broke out between us than the others. He then tried to raise his hand on me, but I fought back by pushing him. He fell backwards and hit his head on the edge of the fireplace. He died instantly.
BROOKE : Oh my God... and what happened next?
LUCAS : Since it was an accident, I wasn't prosecuted and the case was dismissed. Still, I couldn't bear what I had done and that's why I left for Los Angeles. And why I left without saying goodbye to you.
BROOKE : Why?
LUCAS : Because I was ashamed of what I had done and I was terrified that you would change your view of me. You thought of me as a prince charming and I was afraid that after that you would think of me as a murderer.
BROOKE : I never would have thought that of you, Lucas.
LUCAS : I know that, Brooke. But that's how I saw myself at the time, a murderer. That's why when I got to Los Angeles, things went downhill for me.
BROOKE : What do you mean?
LUCAS : I was so convinced that I was like my father that I started going out to bars and drinking too. I met bad people, hung out on the streets, committed crimes. I was completely lost and headed straight for a wall. Luckily, one day when I was arrested, a cop wanted to help me and kept me out of jail. He took me under his wing and put me up with his family. I was then able to resume my studies, go to college and enroll in the police academy. It's thanks to him that I got out of it and that I'm a cop today too, instead of being in jail.
Distraught at the idea that Lucas could have suffered so much, Brooke remains silent for a moment, a lump lodged in her throat.
BROOKE : Why didn't you tell me everything back then? Why did only my parents and Nathan know? I regret so much that I couldn't help you.
LUCAS : I know you would have wanted to and that's why I didn't tell you. I didn't want you to be involved in this. My father already had a very bad view of our relationship and I didn't want him to take it out on you. He was a very bad person, Brooke.
BROOKE : But why didn't you contact me again when things were working out for you in Los Angeles?
LUCAS : Because like I said, I didn't think I deserved you.
BROOKE : Why?
LUCAS : Because to me you are perfect and you needed a man worthy of you. Worthy of your love. I thought my flaws didn't make me worthy of this love.
BROOKE : I'm not perfect, Lucas. No one is. What matters is that we're perfect for each other, don't you think? And to me, you're perfect just the way you are.
Hearing her words, Lucas finally lifts his head to look her in the eyes, his eyes filled with despair.
LUCAS : I killed my father, Brooke. I laid a hand on him and then became an alcoholic. I'm just like him. You need a man who can protect you and take care of your family. Not a man like me who could lay a hand on you or your children one day.
Taking Lucas' face in her hands, Brooke looks him straight in the eye to answer him with emotion.
BROOKE : You're nothing like your father, Lucas. Not near, not far. You only defended yourself, like you always did for everyone. That's why you joined the police, to defend people. I have no doubt that you will know how to protect me, as well as our children. You are the kindest man I know and I want only you.
Touched by her words, the despair in Lucas' eyes gives way to infinite tenderness. He then responds by coming to take Brooke's mouth urgently, lowering his weapons in the face of her arguments. Their mouths remain welded for a long time, before Lucas gets up and takes Brooke's hand. Brooke also straightens up, Lucas then lifts her up to lead her upstairs, to her room. Arrived in the room, he delicately places her on the floor to come and take her mouth again. Their tongues mingle while Brooke hangs her arms around his neck while moaning, Lucas' hands caressing her. She can feel his hands pass under the thin fabric of her toche to lift her up and come and seize her breasts. Brooke's nipples immediately harden as Lucas taunts and pinches them with his fingers. Wanting more, Brooke then lets go of his mouth for a moment to grab her dress and pull it over her head. Now wearing only a pair of panties, Lucas takes the time to observe her, his eyes hungry. Brooke gives him a shy smile, before also reaching under her t-shirt and removing it. Eyes darker than ever, he watches Brooke's hands go down to undo his belt. Once the task is done, she unbuttons his pants and slides the rest of his clothes to the floor. Lucas then finds himself naked in front of her, his cock hard and erect for her. Brooke blushes even more when he does the same with her panties and she finds herself naked too. Unable to wait any longer, Lucas lifts her by the buttocks to gently lay her down on the bed. Running his tongue over her, on her chest and lower still, his hands caress each part of her body. Brooke then does the same to discover and mark every inch of her skin. Then, the desire to be one being too strong, Lucas comes to place himself gently between her thighs. Brooke thus wraps her arms around his neck while he penetrates her slowly, inch by united, she is convinced that her place has always been here, in his arms. Lucas seems to think the same thing as he whispers words of love in her ear, starting to move inside her. He goes in and out faster and faster, wanting to go deep inside her, their moans flying into the room. These then turn into screams when they are both taken by a powerful orgasm.
Out of breath but happy, Lucas then stands up slightly to look at Brooke tenderly.
LUCAS : I love you.
BROOKE : I love you too.
Satisfied, Lucas then rolls onto his back, taking Brooke with him to wrap her in a protective embrace. Nestled in his arms, Brooke's eyes once again observe the photo of the two of them on the nightstand. She decides to question him.
BROOKE : Can I ask you a question?
LUCAS : Of course.
BROOKE : I was wondering how long you've had this photo. I didn't see it the first time I slept here.
LUCAS : I've always had it, but I kept it hidden.
BROOKE : Why?
LUCAS : Because being with you was an unattainable dream, until I saw you with Julian. I told myself then that the dream was actually within reach, provided I fought to reach it. I finally took out the photo at that moment.
Unable to say anything, her throat tight with emotion, Brooke can only press herself a little closer to Lucas. He tightens his arms around her too, before they both fall asleep, peaceful and happy.
