Hello there folks and welcome to another chapter that I don't know if people would actually be interested in because I am only doing this because it is my idea and I want to give a further of unique spin to Akame ga Kill.

I don't care that you guys would, 'That isn't canon' or 'What the hell kind of story is this? That's not like how the source material works' or 'Damned, this guy is using AI? Wow, what a cheater'.

Yeah, I know what kind of sickos would likewise say in the comment section and it goes to show that I am self-aware that I would generate some 'controversy' or whatever.

Yeah, like how you guys would love to find controversy in anything like Stellar Blade with her sexy Main Protagonist or Overwatch with Tracer's booty shots.

You guys always find conflict in everything and you can't stop me in this. I know that I am a noob in the part of the storytelling and using AI is like I am no different than some corporate big shot cheater who would used an AI to do the work but I assure you that some parts of the previous chapter isn't AI generated (However much I wanted to) and all I care about is giving good stories with clear writing for people to read.

And come on.

Even you guys will admit that if you ever get too far into the stories, you know that you will make some seriously bad grammar that you need to correct in order to create a perfect chapter.

Well, anyways...

On with the story.

Disclaimer: I do not own Akame ga Kill and 'Akame Ga kill: Return of Red Dragon emperor' by 'animemaster212'. They belong to their respective owners.

Enjoy.

Sheele has been running through the forest in the middle of the night, holding her Teigu, a giant pair of scissors named Extase, at the ready as she heads to her destination.

Sheele is many things since being an assassin of Night Raid: an airhead who spaces out a lot, smarter than she looks, known for her kind and gentle nature, and finally, rather talented when it comes to killing people.

But tonight is her first solo mission, and she will admit that this is the first time she has gotten a solo mission before. She has always accompanied her friends on their missions, but now she is tasked with speaking to the Phantasm and trying to convince them of something.

For the most part, Sheele has no idea why she would want to do this or what gave her the bright idea of being a diplomat to these mysterious wildcards that had terrorized the Empire, all by their lonesome.

And Sheele knows that even with her skills as an assassin, she also knows that capable as she might be, whoever the Phantasm trumps her in strength and power alone, which Najenda seriously empathizes with how these Phantasm figures are stated to be comparable to Esdeath, and that is a terrifying thought, indeed.

Still, she must try this out because if an airhead like her can do more than just being good at killing, then-

Her thoughts were interrupted when she finally got to her destination, and her eyes widened in shock at the sight before her.

The Imperial Outpost at the Southern entrance of the Empire was destroyed, burned with no survivors in sight.

It is the most horrifying thing that Sheele has witnessed: every Imperial Soldier's corpse was killed in such a gruesome manner. Some corpses appear to have been sliced with graceful expertise, others look as if they've been crushed into flat pancakes, and even more are left as charred remains, unrecognizable burnt flesh still sizzling.

Sheele watched what could be described as not a battle but a massacre. Beside the burnt wood, she heard no survivors. 'I can't believe it. They did this? All by himself?' She thought in shock and disbelief, not finding it possible that one person would do this much damage, much less against everyone in this outpost.

"Can I help you with something?"

Sheele yelped in fright as she turned around and jumped away, readying her Extase in hand before Sheele looked at what was in front of her in shock.

There, standing in front of her, is the Phantasm, and she will admit that the name doesn't do justice to how ethereal, supernatural, and ghost-like he is.

His hair is long and appears to glow in a luminescent white color. His face, or whatever can be called that, resembles an obsidian-colored mask, with no indication of a nose or mouth, just a smooth surface. The only feature is his glowing white eyes, which glare in a menacing manner.

His outfit is also notable, appearing as long, flowing black robes that move with the wind. The extremities, such as his hands and feet, are made of the same material as his obsidian mask—black, solid, and metallic.

And in his hand he holds a spear, long and almost the same size as the Phantasm himself, who is already tall and slender, with the spearhead itself also glowing in the same white color as his white hair.

All in all, Sheele is pretty much surprised by the overall appearance of the Phantasm, and if she could giggle on the inside, the Phantasm looks like he is cosplaying as some fantasy character from a fantasy novel or something.

Pretty out-of-place if she can admit it.

"Are you finished gawking at me?" The Phantasm spoke up, his tone calm, stoic, and chillingly cold, yet held an echo of authority behind it.

Sheele shakes off her shock as the Phantasm finally speaks to her, "Uh... Maybe?" She responds in an awkward manner.

The Phantasm seemed to look bemused behind his expressionless mask as he then said, "Well, before I would disembark from another dog that has finally put down, tell me..." The Phantasm then swung and spun his spear around before aiming it at Sheele's forehead, where she could only look in shock at how fast he swung it, and he instantly had her at his mercy. "Who are you? By the looks of that weapon you are carrying, I surmise that you are another dog of the Empire. Now tell me before you join with the rest of the dogs." He threatened, inching his spear closer to Sheele.

"No, wait. I'm not..." Sheele denies that. "I am not with the Empire. I'm not." She said urgently for the Phantasm to hear.

The Phantasm didn't budge as he said, "You may not be one of the dogs, but that still doesn't answer who you are. Now tell me before I take the answer from you." The Phantasm threatened again.

Sheele held her breath as she put her fear aside and began to speak, "M-my name is Sheele. I am a member of Night Raid, and I have come to seek you, Phantasm."

"Phantasm?" The Phantasm stated his name in confusion.

"Uhm... yes... that is your name... at least that's what the Empire called you..." Sheele explained.

The Phantasm could only stare in an incredulous manner while Sheele felt like he did since he still had his emotionless expression on his face before giving a bemused chuckle and said, "Another creative thinking from those Imperial Dogs. Honestly, I'm not surprised by their uncultured and primitive mindset." Then he looked at Sheele again, his glowing eyes boring into Sheele's own as he said, "And what reason do you have for coming here? If not the Empire, then could you be another hunter who has come to take my head as someone's trophy? Because your hunt ends here, Sheele of Night Raid."

"No..." Sheele yelled out, denying that notion. "I'm not that, at all. I just wanted to talk to you."

The Phantasm looked in such a surprised manner, although he still carried that emotionless gaze as he said, "You want to what?"

"I want to talk to you..." Sheele said as she began to explain. "Listen. I don't know if you noticed, but we both have the same enemy, which is the Empire. And... I thought that if we work together, maybe we can do something?" Sheele explained uncertainly to the Phantasm.

The Phantasm could only stare at Sheele without any motion, whatsoever, before finally moving his spear away from her. Sheele sighed in relief, now out of danger.

"You think that just because we have a common enemy, like those dogs of the Empire, that we should work together?" The Phantasm said, his tone dripping with menace.

"Yes, that's right. And the Revolutionary Army would be grateful to have you around. And I'm sure Boss would love to have someone as strong and powerful as you-"

"No."

She looked shocked when the Phantasm refused her offer without hesitation, "B-but why?"

"Why?" The Phantasm said, as if he were in disbelief at such an obvious answer. "I don't know if you noticed, but I don't need help. I am more than capable of facing off against the dogs of the Empire by my lonesome, and unless you are blind to the death, destruction, and carnage I have caused upon this outpost right here..." The Phantasm then displayed what he had done around them. "I'm doing fine by myself."

"Uhm... Well, I know that..." Sheele stated in understanding. "But surely you would understand that there are benefits if you ever make allies with us? Then, you wouldn't be alone in your fight against the Empire. And of course-"

"I appreciate the offer, Sheele. But my answer is still the same. I refuse, and that is final. Now..." The Phantasm then turned around and walked away from Sheele as he said, "I bid you farewell, Sheele of Night Raid. May we never meet again."

"Uhm..." Sheele fidgeted at his refusal as she clearly didn't know what to say, but as determination started to swell in her heart, "Please. I don't know why you would do this alone, but you can trust us. We can help you without leaving you alone. That's all."

The Phantasm stopped, making Sheele smile because she finally got through to him. Then, he said, "Trust? You think that I should trust you people?"

"Well... Maybe not now..." Sheele explained awkwardly. "But don't worry. When you're at Night Raid, you will know that you are not alone in your torment and hate against the Empire. And don't worry because in Night Raid, we would always treat each other like family and-"

"I remember the day someone put their trust in someone, even in their life. I remember how easily one can break that trust, and betrayal is inevitable..." The Phantasm turned around, glaring at Sheele, who recoiled in shock and fear. "So, what makes you think you're any different? Why, in my people's name, should I trust someone when the last time trust was forged, and it snapped like a fragile twig, I lost everything?"

"What are you talking about?" Sheele said in utter confusion.

"Oh, of course you don't. Who wouldn't? The fate of my people is inconsequential to what you all are. We trusted in the Empire, and what did we get? A complete and utter genocide where I am the fucking last survivor of my people. Trusting in outsiders was the biggest mistake of our lives, and like all hell's beneath that, I would trust in an outsider like you." The Phantasm said, pointing at Sheele.

"B-but..." Sheele stuttered at the accusation, "B-but I have nothing to do with your people..."

"I don't care..." The Phantasm said in an uncaring tone. "Whether you are another dog of the Empire or an outsider, you are all the same. You are not my people. You will never be my people. You will try to take advantage of me and then kill me if I ever outlive your usefulness."

"No, that's not what we do. You're wrong about us." Sheele yelled out in denial to the Phantasm's accusation.

"Oh, really? Are you sure? What? You think of yourselves as noble? Pure-hearted? Heroic? Selfless? Actually cared about me and not see me as your tool against the Empire? Wanted to pry into who I am, trying to uncover the secret of my 'mystical' power just so you could get a taste of it? Is that it!?" The Phantasm said to Sheele, whose emotions are getting more and more compromised by the Phantasm's accusations.

The Phantasm just scoffed and said, "Thought so..." He then turned around, attempting to walk although not before saying, "Let me make myself clear, Sheele of Night Raid. We may have a common enemy, but that doesn't mean we're allies, especially friends. Get in my way, and I warn you that if you ever try to stop me, impede me, or even become a burden to me, I promise your suffering will not be the end."

The Phantasm walked off, leaving Sheele alone in the burnt and destroyed Imperial Outpost, trembling with Extase in hand at her failure.

But unwilling to give up, Sheele began to speak up, saying, "How?"

The Phantasm stopped when he heard what Sheele said, "What?"

"How can I make you trust me?" Sheele croaked out her words.

The Phantasm just looked at Sheele in an incredulous manner and said, "For the last time, I'm not joining-"

"I know that!" Sheele screeched, understanding what the Phantasm had said. "It's just... If you can tell me how you can trust me, then maybe you know that we're not like what you think. Then maybe... Just maybe... Well..." Sheele remained hard to talk as the Phantasm continued to stare at her. "Just... Give me a chance. Anything that you can trust me with, I can do it. Just... Please tell me..."

The Phantasm stared at Sheele as he looked at her, analyzing anything he could find about the young woman before him.

Then he looked at Sheele's Teigu, Extase, and said, "How are you with that weapon of yours?"

"Huh? My weapon?" Sheele said, showing her giant scissors in hand. "Well, I am really good with it, but what does-"

She didn't have the time to finish when the Phantasm charged forward at blinding speed, thrusting his spear forward as Sheele tried to block it with Extase, only to be thrown off by such a strong attack from the Phantasm, sending her careening, thankful that she held her Extase in hand.

Sheele watched in shock as she looked at the Phantasm, whose glowing spear now crackled with static electricity. He said, "Here is how you can win my trust, Sheele of Night Raid. You will have to survive our duel, and if you do, then and only then, will I actually consider joining your organization. Now, are you ready?" The Phantasm said as he took a stance with his spear in hand.

"Um... Are there any rules for me to follow? Or any limits I should know?"

"Began." The Phantasm says it without hesitation as he charges straight towards Sheele, thrusting his spear at her Teigu. She blocks, but the force sends her skidding back, revealing how strong the Phantasm is.

Sheele gritted her teeth as the Phantasm then started to swing his spear around and strike at her, who blocked it with her Teigu.

From there, it is a clash between a spear and a giant scissor as Sheele swings Extase at the Phantasm with everything she has, through the meticulous movement of her swings and skill. Yet, the Phantasm matches her with his own skill, displaying grace, precision, and accuracy like no other.

Sheele swings Extase at the Phantasm, who easily dodges it before thrusting his spear at Sheele. She hastily blocks it with her Teigu.

Then, the spear started to glow and glowed even brighter as Sheele could only look in shock before she was blown away by the Phantasm's enigmatic mystical power.

Sheele can only try to stand up, using her Teigu to lift herself off the ground as she tries to stare at the Phantasm, only to find no one.

"What?" Sheele looked around, carrying her Teigu in hand as she tried to find where the Phantasm was.

"Looking for something?"

Sheele heard the voice of the Phantasm behind her as she swung Extase at him, yet found nothing.

"Where do you think you're going?"

Sheele heard the voice and swung Extase behind her. Once again, she didn't hit anything.

Then she was shocked when the Phantasm appeared in front of her, making her eyes widen in shock, backing away from the Phantasm as he disappeared again in a brief spark of light.

Sheele widened her eyes at the feats of the Phantasm, wondering how he could do that and, of course, what kind of Teigu he was using.

'Come to think of it...' Sheele thought, 'I don't recognize that kind of Teigu he is using. Did I forget again? Oh, curse my airy head.'

The Phantasm then appears and disappears around Sheele as she looks around, confusing her as the Phantasm keeps dashing around at such an impeccable speed, like a blur.

Sheele tried to swing at Extase's Phantasm, but once again, she only hit air, much to her shock. The Phantasm then swung his spear beside her.

Sheele blocked it, sending her skidding yet it also sent her straight to a dashed Phantasm as he kicked her, sending her rolled around on the floor from the hit.

As she tries to gain her footing, she gripped her Teigu at the ready to see the Phantasm is charging at her as she takes a swing but unfortunately, he disappeared in a blur before the giant scissor could have made contact.

Sheela can only watch in shock before she hears the sounds of lightning and thunder. 'Is a storm coming? Why is a storm coming?'

She looked up to see the black clouds in the middle of the night crackling with lightning and thunder, making Sheele look shocked at what was happening.

Then, lightning shoots out from the black clouds as Sheele quickly dodges out of the way to avoid the lightning bolt that almost hit her, leaving only destruction where it stood.

Sheele looked shocked at what had happened. Before she could let out her thoughts, she heard the Phantasm talking, "Beautiful, isn't it?"

Sheele looked to the side to see the Phantasm standing with his spear in hand as he said, "I was once the best of my people. Intelligent, analytical, wise, and powerful enough that armies would fall beneath my mastery, calling upon the storm itself at my heel..." The Phantasm spoke with a tone of pride before looking down in sadness. "And yet, all this power, and I can't even bring back my people from the genocide caused by those dogs of the Empire. All this power, and yet, I am forever doomed to be the last of my people. Do you understand that, Sheele? How powerful I can be, and yet, all this strength and power, I feel nothing but misery and damnation. My only solace is my lonesome crusade against the Empire. Do you?"

Sheele watched him speak up, but she heard the underlying sadness in his tone. Then she realized something...

"If you're truly this powerful, then..." Sheele decided to speak up. "Then surely you can destroy the Empire easily, right?" she said as the Phantasm looked upon her. "So, why didn't you?"

The Phantasm stared at Sheele as she stood up, albeit with difficulty. Then, the Phantasm decided to speak up, "It would be truly easy. The dogged armies of the Empire and even its strongest warriors with their Imperial Arms are inferior to the likes of my power to call upon the storm and destroy everything with the lightning that falls upon them. I did that once against a thousand soldiers by myself. I can do so easily against the Empire. And then they will know how it feels to lose everything." The Phantasm boasted as his spear crackled with electricity, and thunderstorms began to form in the sky, responding to his elevated emotion.

Then he started to calm down as he said, "But only a fool would do something as foolish as underestimating your enemy, and finally..." The Phantasm then sighed and said, "There are still innocent people in the Capital, all of whom have nothing to do with the genocide of my people. And my family would be horrified if they ever saw me for the monstrous things I did." He said this with abject understanding.

Sheele looked surprised at the Phantasm's display of nobility and honour, which made her smile and say, "So you do have a heart."

"Don't look into it too much, Sheele of Night Raid..." The Phantasm said, "I am an avenger of my people. My quarrel is only with the Empire and just the Empire. I may not be a monster who is blind to the injustice that the Empire have wrought upon both their own people and other people but if they're smart, then they should stay away if they know what's good for them." He said in his bitter tone before aiming his spear at Sheele.

"And I believe that this concludes our duel, Sheele of Night Raid..." The Phantasm said to Sheele, "I don't need to see the future to know that I can overpower you at any moment. You maybe strong, Sheele but at the end of the day, you are just a human. Mortal as you are and killable as you are. And I could have killed you if I wasn't so merciful. So, are you truly gonna continue this duel or do I need to take this more seriously? Because if you even try, know that you won't survive this."

Sheele stayed silent as she heard what the Phantasm had said, hearing everything from the Phantasm to not be empty boast and is more than capable of backing it up if she can. There is no denying of why Najenda considered the Phantasm to be comparable to Esdeath in power and the feats shown speak for itself.

But she is not going to give up now as her eyes hidden beneath her hair as she gripped Extase in hand before thrusting it up above her, making the Phantasm look at her in confusion, "What in my people's name are you-"

Suddenly, a bright light appeared from the blade of Extase, blinding him. He covered his eyes with his arm as Sheele took the opportunity to dash behind him, lifting her Teigu aloft, preparing to strike him down.

However, to her shock, the Phantasm blocked it, not in any conventional way, but more or less as his spear suddenly appeared and floated in midair, with the wielder's back still facing her.

Sheele didn't have a moment to think about before the spear flies around and started to clash it's blades against her, swinging, flying and zipping around as Sheele tries to block and parry every attack from the flying spear itself.

Then the spear flies as Sheele's eyes widened in shock as the Phantasm charged at her, sending her skidding back as she looked at what the Phantasm is holding on both hands.

They appeared to be a pair of two katana blades, whose blades emitted frosted white ice and orange enflamed fire. They looked intricately designed, with the katana itself being medium-length. Overall, they looked incredibly powerful.

Sheela can only stare in shock as she thinks, 'No way. Are these his Teigu? I thought wielding multiple Imperial Arms was difficult, if not impossible.'

The Phantasm then aimed his frosted katana at Sheele as his flying spear is floating around beside him as he said, "I admire your eagerness and determination, if not utterly annoying. So, allow me to give you the honour of how much you fucked up."

"Is the swearing, necessary-" Sheele didn't have a moment to finish before the Phantasm charged straight at her, spinning himself around as he gives a double swipe from his frosted and enflamed dual katana blades.

Sheele tried to block the swipe with Extase but she was blown away by the overwhelming combined power of fire and ice, especially to such a greater magnitude as it break her guard and push her off from the blast.

As Sheele adjust her glasses, she watched as the Phantasm is charging ahead, once ahead swinging his katana with the flaming blade at Sheele who blocked it yet still felt the heat from the fiery blade itself.

Metals clashed between a giant scissor and blades of ice and fire as the Phantasm with the grace of a dancer with how he spin in the air and swing his dual blades at Sheele, doing acrobatic flips and twirls as Sheele sweat from trying to endure another barrage of their duel as the Phantasm then delivered a jumping double kick to Sheele which she blocked with her Extase before pushing the Phantasm off into the air, swinging his flaming sword at Sheele, firing fiery projectiles at the assassin of Night Raid.

Sheele dodged the crescent shaped fiery attacks towards her with ease although she stopped herself from being almost hit by the flaming projectile almost to her face, trying to steady herself.

Then the Phantasm swing his ice katana from below to above as a wall of ice appeared and started to move straight towards Sheele as she dodged it, rolling out of the way to avoid the ice wall before Sheele sensed the Phantasm has appeared behind her as he swings his fire and ice katana blades at her which she ducked to avoid the attack, destroying the ice wall as a result.

Sheele then rolled back to avoid the Phantasm's flaming katana as he keeps on swinging his weapons at him as Sheele keeps on blocking with Extase.

She gritted her teeth, knowing that she can't endure the assault but through the analytical mind, she tries to focus on the swings of the Phantasm's movement as she tried to examine on where he swings next.

Right on time as Sheele opened her Extase out and clamped it upon the Phantasm's dual katana, much to his shock as she then used Extase to wrenched the dual weapons off from the Phantasm's hand, throwing them away as Sheele prepares to swing her Teigu at the Phantasm.

Only to be stopped by the Phantasm's flying spear who flies straight towards Sheele as she had no choice but to block it, sending her skidding from the flying spear flying towards her.

Then, she felt only shock and pain as she was electrocuted by the spear, making her scream in agony.

Sheele kneeled down from the pain, dropping her Teigu as as the flying spear started to fly straight towards where the fire and ice katana blades are at, making them with the spear as they returned to the Phantasm where he grabbed the handle of his dual weapons with his spear flying beside him.

Sheele pant in exhaustion, now at her limit as she looked at the Phantasm who is looking down at her, aiming his fiery katana at him as he said, "You fought well, Sheele of Night Raid. Admirable, even. But it's over..." The Phantasm said, "You lost. And you would be dead if I didn't hold back."

Sheele look crestfallen at what he said, "But..." She then heard what the Phantasm speak, "You are still admirable. I will admit. You are really skilled with that weapon and your determination to be... amazing. In fact, I could say that I respect how resourceful and intelligent you are."

"Y-you..." Sheele said, her eyes glistened at what he said, "You mean it."

"Well, I would say that it is an exaggeration but..." The Phantasm awkwardly stated, "Coming from someone as intelligent as me, that is a praise I rarely give to one that isn't my people."

Sheele smiled as she had succeeded in having the Phantasm's trust to her only for the Phantasm to turn around, walking away as Sheele look befuddled at his act, "Wait? Where are you going?"

The Phantasm stopped in his tracks, not even wasting time turning as he said, "I did promise you that if you ever survive my assault that I would join you and your little organization of yours."

"Well, that's true. So, are you-"

"That, however, doesn't mean that I'm joining you right now..." The Phantasm empathised that, "Make no mistake. I am willing to consider having allies, even someone that isn't one of my people, as long as we share a common enemy..." The Phantasm then empathised again, "That still doesn't mean that I willing to trust in your friends. For trust has to be earned and I hardly trust in people that I have little interactions with."

Sheele look despondent at that, "Oh, okay..." Then she smiled and said, "But that still means you'll join us, right?"

The Phantasm still remain silent at what Sheele asked him as he then said, "I'll think about it." He said as he walked away from Sheele.

"Wait?!" Sheele called him out as the Phantasm stopped, "Can I... Can I at least know your name?"

The Phantasm once again remained silent at what Sheele asked him and while Sheele thought that he would walk away, not even willing to give Sheele an answer, she heard him say, "Ylith."

Sheele looked at him quizzically as the Phantasm then introduced himself, once again, "My name is Ylith. Now, goodbye of Sheele of Night Raid."

And with that, the now named Ylith walked off, disappearing into the shadows as Sheele watched him go before hugging Extase to her body and smiled as she said, "I hope I see you again, Ylith."

Well, hope you guys enjoyed the chapter. Contrary to what you think, however, this is not used by ToolBaz, meaning that it is all natural as a result, which also means that if you ever noticed some missing words, repetitive words and how simplistic and less formal it is, then congratulations, you have seen my true writing in all it's horribly beautiful glory.

Anyway, if you have any ideas on a story that is inspired by JustyTurner, let me know in the comments below.

Likewise, I want to do a Destiny/Fairy Tail Crossover. Why? Because there are no Destiny/Fairy Tail crossovers and that one crossover doesn't count because seriously, what kind of backstory was that?

Well, anyway...

If you have anymore ideas, let me know in the comments below and as always...

Ciao...
