Kushida POV:
What is this feeling?!
My heart can't stop beating faster. I never felt this way about anyone. Is this love?
No...
NO.
NO!
This can't be it. I only just met Ayanokouji-kun a few days ago. If I remember correctly, he messed up his introduction to the class and is considered a gloomy person by most people in the class.
But... why do I feel something towards Ayanokouji-kun?!
Why?!
WHY?!
I have to maintain my smile and angel personality, He's looking at me right now. Just smile...
If he knew of my true nature, he'll just reject me. The other me is much better and suitable to him. He'll just hate you. I'm sure of it...
Despite my mind saying not to fall in love with him, my heart longed for him.
**********************************************
Ayanokouji POV:
Ayanokouji's eyes widened a little bit before his usual calm face came back. He was confused on why Kushida set off a reaction.
God did say 'soulmate' meaning one soulmate which is Horikita. So why did Kushida set off the reaction?
Ayanokouji noticed that Kushida is standing there with a little blush on her face. She seems to be thinking about something internally as Ayanokouji caught a glimpse of panic in her eyes. Then, Kushida looked at Ayanokouji with a full smile. It looked like a fake smile, a smile to hide and cover up something.
"Ayanokouji-kun, do you mind if I eat lunch with you?" said Kushida.
"Sure, if you're up to it." said Ayanokouji.
What? She's going in already!
Kushida and Ayanokouji began walking to the cafeteria together, but caught the attention of the people passing by. It was strange seeing Kushida alone with a boy, a gloomy person most people assumed. Some of the boys gave Ayanokouji a jealous glare and muttering to themselves.
"You're sure popular, Kushida." said Ayanokouji.
"Oh! I won't say that. I just wanted to make lots of friends." said Kushida, cheerfully.
"I see... It's a shame that none of your middle school friends didn't attend here."
Kushida paused for a moment. A look of frustration and anger was on here face for a brief moment. A normal person wouldn't have caught it, but Ayanokouji noticed it before Kushida smiled again.
"Y-yeah. No one from my middle school even got accepted here!" said Kushida.
"I see."
Before Kushida could asked Ayanokouji something, a voice from behind them interrupted them.
"Ayanokouji-kun, where are you going?" said Horikita. Ayanokouji turned around and saw Horikita standing there with a slight glare.
"Getting lunch." replied Ayanokouji.
"I thought you were eating alone, not with Kushida-san."
"She invited me. I see no reason to reject her."
"I see. Then, I coming with you guys."
"But..."
"That's fine, Horikita-san." said Kushida, smiling at her.
I guess Kushida see this as a way to get closer to Horikita. By using me obviously.
The duo became a trio and they made their way to the cafeteria. They lined up for a meal ticket and Ayanokouji noticed how vast Kushida's social network is. Kushida was talking to people in the line or people that are nearby while waiting in line. Ayanokouji choose the daily special meal ticket. Horikita choose the udon meal and Kushida choose the karaage meal. They picked up their meal at the counter after exchanging the meal tickets and sat at an empty table near the corner of the cafeteria.
"Itadakimasu." said the trio before taking the first bite of the meal. Ayanokouji was satisfied on his meal and wondered if buying cafeteria food is cheaper than buying convenience store food.
It's healthier to buy cafeteria food than eating convenience store food every day. Staying healthy in the long run is much cheaper. If I get sick by eating too much convenience store food, it'll cost more points to buy medicine and items to help me recover.
While Ayanokouji was thinking about it, he noticed that Horikita and Kushida were both looking at him. Ayanokouji wondered if there was something on his face, so he checked.
There's nothing on my face, so why the stares?
Before Ayanokouji can say something, Kushida made the first move.
"Ayanokouji-kun, would you like a bite of my meal?" said Kushida. Ayanokouji was surprised by Kushida's sudden invitation. Horikita was surprised and glaring at Kushida.
"W-what a stupid idea, Kushida-san. As if Ayanokouji-kun would accept-" said Horikita.
"Why not? It looks good." said Ayanokouji. Horikita directed her glare at Ayanokouji. Ayanokouji wondered why she's so mad at him.
It's not like it's her food that's I'm eating.
"Say ahh..." said Kushida, grabbing a juicy piece of karaage and moving it towards Ayanokouji. The chopsticks were wobbling a little bit and Ayanokouji leaned forward and ate the piece of karaage before it could fall off. Kushida quickly retracted her chopsticks with her face growing red. She stared at the chopsticks, averting her eyes from Ayanokouji. Horikita was staring at Ayanokouji with a mixed expression of horror and anger.
"A-aaayanokouji-kun, d-ddid you j-just..." started Kushida, her hands shaking a little bit. Ayanokouji tilted his head in confusion.
"Ayanokouji-kun, here try some of my udon." said Horikita. Ayanokouji became even more confused.
Horikita doesn't seem like the girl to share her food with others. She's trying to pull something. I should refuse.
"Sorry, Horikita. I-" started Ayanokouji.
"What did you say, Ayanokouji-kun? I didn't catch it. You will have a bite." said Horikita, her glare intensifying. Her aura became even colder and darker. Some of the students nearby gulped in fear and started staring at their food.
"Fine." said Ayanokouji. Horikita grabbed a strand of udon noodles from her bowl. The noodles look slippery and in the verge of falling onto the table, Ayanokouji quickly leaned it and slurped up the noodles before it could fall on the table. Horikita retracted her chopsticks immediately and her face began blushing.
Ayanokouji's confusion grew tenfold as both Horikita and Kushida averted their eyes from Ayanokouji and stared at the chopsticks.
What's happening? Did I do something? Maybe they didn't like having me eating their food. I should've reject their offers. But free food...
It turns out that Ayanokouji accidentally touched his lips on the chopsticks for a brief moment when he ate the food. Ayanokouji was so focused on not letting the food fall of the chopsticks that he forgot basic chopsticks etiquette and made a desperate lunge to secure the food. It resulted the Ayanokouji's lips touching the two girls' chopsticks although it was longer on Horikita's chopsticks because he was slurping up the long udon noodles. Both girls realized what happened and became embarrassed.
'Ayanokouji-kun is an idiot! How dare he do that so casually! What? Why is my heart increasing its beat?! This is an indirect kiss! Stop it, Suzune. You're a high school student. Don't panic and fret about something so trivial.' thought Horikita.
'Why did he do that?! An indirect kiss with Ayanokouji-kun. No... NO! Calm down, Kikyou. Your face is turning a little red and you're getting out of character. Oh... ho... ho...ho... That bitch, Horikita! Her chopsticks were in Ayanokouji-kun's mouth longer than mines!' thought Kushida.
"Is there something wrong, you two?" asked Ayanokouji.
"N-nnothing at all." the two girls yelped. This confused Ayanokouji even more because they were both averting their eyes from him and faces red.
"Are you sure? You guys are a little red and look a little sick?" asked Ayanokouji.
"N-no, I-i'm fine." said Horikita, grabbing her glass of water and starting sipping it. Ayanokouji noticed that Horikita is using it as a cover to hide her face and draw attention away from herself.
"I-i'm okay. T-thanks for asking A-aayanokouji-kun." said Kushida, staring at the passerby students. Ayanokouji noticed that Kushida is trying to keep her attention away from him, but her blushing face is at full display.
"I see..." said Ayanokouji.
For the rest of lunchtime, Kushida made small talk with Ayanokouji while Horikita did not join in with the conservation and studied Ayanokouji and Kushida.
For some strange reason, Horikita and Kushida didn't want to finish their food. They only ate a few bites of their food. Are they full or one a diet? It's better to look kind of embarrassed and flustered by it when I asked.
The two girls handed their tray of food to Ayanokouji, who decided to eat it to not waste any food. After eating three meals, Ayanokouji was feeling really full. Before they left the cafeteria, Kushida gave Ayanokouji her contact information which Ayanokouji accepted. Horikita was glaring at Ayanokouji when it was happening. Ayanokouji was confused by Horikita's sudden change in mood, but before he could asked, Horikita gave him her contact information as well. Horikita told Ayanokouji that he should be grateful that he's getting her phone number and told him not to be annoying when he got her number. With that out of the way, the trio left the cafeteria which is quickly becoming empty. There was a few more minutes before class starts and the trio hurriedly made it to Class D.
When Ayanokouji opened the classroom door, he felt change in atmosphere. Most of the boys were glaring at Ayanokouji and the girls were staring at Ayanokouji. Some of the boys were cursing at Ayanokouji while others were in shocked.
That's the expected reaction from the boys when eating with the class' angel. This is really annoying.
Ayanokouji and Horikita made their way to this desks while Kushida went to her desk. Kushida became surrounded by her friend groups and other girls. They begin to ask Kushida some questions and giggling at her. Some of the more perverted boys: Ike, Yamauchi, and Hondo approached Ayanokouji's desk to interrogate him.
"Ayanokouji, you bastard!" said Ike.
"So, Horikita-chan is not enough for you. Now you're going for Kushida-chan now!" shouted Yamauchi.
"Damn... ike-man..." muttered Hondo.
"It's just lunch. There's nothing more to it." said Ayanokouji.
"How can you say that Ayanokouji?! I would pay to eat lunch alone with Kushida-chan!" said Ike.
"Yeah... Having Kushida-chan feed me lunch." said Yamauchi. His words caused the three perverts to start daydreaming about Yamauchi's words. Their faces lighted up in a euphoric way as they imagined it happening to them.
"..."
"WAIT?!"
"That didn't happen, did it?"
"With two girls at once!?"
Do these perverts suddenly become espers as soon as perverted fantasies come into play?
"Yamauchi-kun, it will be best for your health if you leave Ayanokouji-kun alone." said Horikita, giving Yamauchi her signature cold glare.
"O-ooh y-yeah. S-stop defending that b-bastard." stammered Yamauchi, imitated by Horikita's glare. Horikita simply pulled out her compass and stabbed Yamauchi in the arm.
"OW! W-what was that for?!"
"For using the suffix 'chan' on me and for annoying me."
The three perverts backed away from Ayanokouji and Horikita out of fear of Horikita's fearsome compass. Ayanokouji sighed in relief and glanced at Horikita.
"I-it's n-not what it looks like. I-ii'm just t-trying to get these a-aannoying nuisances out of my way. I-it's not like I'm trying to help you." said Horikita, blushing slightly by Ayanokouji's gaze.
"I see."
Chabashira-sensei entered the classroom and the class started. As usual, a majority of the class did not pay attention to class. The teachers didn't seem to care at all that a majority of the students is not paying attention to their lessons. Without any major incident, Ayanokouji decided to get back to the dorm immediately to avoid the perverted boy's line of questioning and stares .
*Timeskip (10 minutes later)*
Ayanokouji made into his dorm and placed his bag down on the ground. He laid down on his bad and began thinking about his unique situation with Kushida and Horikita.
This is an interesting dilemma I'm in.
Am I supposed to choose which one as my soulmate? God did say a person can only have one soulmate.
Horikita or Kushida? I don't know. I just met these girls a few days ago.
Suddenly, a flash of bright light temporarily blinded Ayanokouji as he averted his eyes. Ayanokouji already knew who's coming out of the light. A few moment later, the light disappeared and revealed God.
"Hello Ayanokouji. I've come to explain and talk to you about your little situation." said God.
"Very well. Can you please stop trying to blind me every time you appear before me?" said Ayanokouji.
"That's my grand entrance."
"..."
"They are both your soulmates and they are the most perfect romantic match ever. So they are both perfect to you and equally matched."
"Equally match? Then, why do I have two soulmates? You said everyone is supposed to have one."
"Ah... you've caught on."
"Yeah. You said a soulmate, meaning a singular one. So, I deduced that typically, you're supposed to have one."
"Well done, Ayanokouji. Yes, that statement is true."
"Then...why?"
"Well, I accidentally added two extra zeros to your soulmate account."
"..."
"Ayanokouji?"
"Please kill me."
"Not happening."
"How did that happened?"
"The anime adaption of my favorite manga was airing."
"Why are you watching anime when you have God work to do?"
"it was worth it and besides it's boring doing work all the time."
"Are my soulmates all girls?"
"Yes, all girls. No guys."
Ayanokouji couldn't believe that he now has 100 soulmates. It meant that he could get potential 100 soulmates in his peaceful high school life.
"There's more to it, Ayanokouji." said God.
"More?" asked Ayanokouji.
"If a person meets their soulmate, they must love each other and be together or else all kinds of horrible stuff happens to them and they die."
"..."
"It's rare to have a soulmate. That's why you have extraordinary luck and randomly chosen."
"If I pick one of them to date..."
"Yes, the other one will die."
"..."
"What a pain. Whatever. I'll just choose one then."
"Exactly. WAIT WHAT!"
"I'll choose one to be my soulmate and let the other die. It's not like I know Horikita and Kushida too well, I just met them a few days ago. That'll remove any burden on me. It also means I can focus on one girl instead of 99 other girls."
"You can't do that..."
"It's your mistake and here's the consequences of that mistake. You ruined my life, so I figured I'll correct it for you." said Ayanokouji, coldly. God shivered from Ayanokouji's cold and calculating look. He was not expecting that from Ayanokouji. Ayanokouji seemed unfazed by the fact that he might be sentencing 99 people to certain death.
Wait...
This could be a good opportunity for me. People take joy in learning. It's the same whether it's studying, exercising, or even when you're playing a game. You feel pleasure when you realize you've improved.
It was the same with love. I didn't know anything about love. Not romantic love, and not familial or platonic love. I didn't know anything about the relationships between men and women. The shyness and the pleasure that awaited them in those relationships, I didn't know anything about those things. I was sure that I would find answers for each of those things in the near future. But nothing would probably change as a result. I was just learning is all. I would grow and move forward. I could say that the 100 soulmates is like a textbook about the opposite sex for me, in a manner of speaking. Once I was done reading it, that textbook would have served its purpose.
Or perhaps...
Maybe there was a future in store that wasn't like that? Would I become someone irreplaceable to them, never leaving their side? I didn't know. There was a part of me that wished for that to happen. And another part that realized it was impossible.
I wonder which girl would make the pulse of my heart race faster and experience this so-called "love". With 100 soulmates, I'm bound to find one. Let's see which girl will make my heart race.
"You know what, I changed my mind." said Ayanokouji.
"T-thank me." said God.
"Thank you?"
"It's the expression 'Thank God', but I'm God, so the expression is 'Thank Me' from my perspective." said God.
"I see."
"Well good luck on your future endeavors, Ayanokouji." said God. God began glowing and emitting an intense light similar to his grand entrance as Ayanokouji averted his eyes. In a brilliant flash of light, God disappeared and Ayanokouji's room became silent yet again.
This whole entire situation just got a whole lot worse. Should I try to avoid any girls? It's an effective strategy that prevents me for meeting any more girls and eliminates most possibilities of running into my soulmate. On the other hand, it'll hurt what's left of my meager reputation.
Ayanokouji sighed and decided to go for shopping at a supermarket for some ingredients for dinner. Ayanokouji got into the elevator and thankfully didn't run into Kushida or Horikita. Ayanokouji walked to the Keyaki Mall where the supermarket is located at. He entered the supermarket, grabbed a shopping basket, and began browsing the aisles.
I wonder what I make for dinner. Curry? Ramen? Karaage? Mackerel?
Oh. It looks like eggs are on sale today. There's some green onions and leeks as well. Alright oyakodon seems good. Just need some chicken.
Ayanokouji added a dozen of eggs, some green onions, leeks, and a small bag of white rice to his shopping basket. He started to make his way to the meat and poultry section of the supermarket. Ayanokouji passed the sweets and snacks aisle and began to slow down as he perused the various snacks and sweets available on sale. Ayanokouji spent a few minutes looking at the snacks, tempted to buy some, before deciding not to buy any to save up on points.
Ayanokouji arrived at the cold and refrigerated meat and poultry aisle. He checked the price of various products of chicken.
Thighs, wings, drumsticks, breasts, feet. All various parts of chicken with different prices. Since oyakodon needs chicken meat, I'll go with chicken breasts.
Ayanokouji looked at the pallets of chicken breasts and compared the prices. Each pallet of chicken breast has different weights thus different prices. It seems the price per pound is 189 points per pound. Ayanokouji choose a reasonable size pallet that he can finish by himself. He noticed a pair of eyes focused on him when he was deciding which pallet of chicken breasts he wants. Ayanokouji glanced around and saw a short girl with short indigo-colored hair tied in twin tails and pink-violet eyes. She seems to be observing Ayanokouji's actions in a curious way, unlike a stalker. Ayanokouji locked eyes with her and she backed away a little bit and he approached her.
"Can I help you?" said Ayanokouji.
"S-sorry about that. I-I was just a little curious on why you're taking so long." Stammered the girl, averting her eyes from him.
She's a little shy. Her Japanese is good, but it's not as strong as a native speaker. I believe this girl is Wang from her class. If I remember correctly from her introduction, she's Chinese and has been in Japan ever since elementary school.
"It's no problem. I was curious on why a cute girl like you is eying a guy like me."
"E-ehh?!"
Shouldn't have said that. That poor girl looks like she's having steam come out of her ears.
"It's just a joke."
"O-ohh... it's just a j-joke."
"I was analyzing on the price difference of different parts of chicken and for chicken breasts."
"I see that you're quite analytical, A-aayanokouji-kun."
"You know my name, Wang?"
"I remember most people's name after the first introduction."
"Please don't remind of me of my introduction."
Wang seems to giggled by Ayanokouji's response and she seems to be a little more comfortable around him.
"Please call me Mii-chan, Ayanokouji-kun."
"Mii-chan?"
"People started called me that when I moved here. Nobody calls me Wang anymore. Even my parents liked that name and called me that."
"Okay. Mii-chan it is."
"Thank you, Ayanokouji-kun." Said Mii-chan, giving Ayanokouji a little smile.
The conservation stopped and an awkward silence enveloped them. Ayanokouji decided to say something before it's even more awkward. Mii-chan doesn't seem like a sociable girl with people that she barely knows or uncomfortable with.
"You moved here from China? Do you speak Mandarin or Cantonese?" asked Ayanokouji.
"I can speak Mandarin." replied Mii-chan.
"I see. Where are you from in China?" asked Ayanokouji, in Mandarin. Mii-chan's eyes widened in surprise, unexpected by Ayanokouji's sudden reveal.
"I'm from Zhengzhou." replied Mii-chan.
"I see. It's a beautiful city, isn't it?" asked Ayanokouji. Mii-chan nodded enthusiastically and agreed with him.
"I always wanted to visit China. I can't avoid mentioning the Great Wall when talking about China. Personally, I'd like to visit the Ancient City of Ping Yao." said Ayanokouji. Mii-chan's eyes widened in surprise by Ayanokouji's mention.
"It's a World Heritage Site. It's impressive that you know it." said Mii-chan, nodding her head in approval.
"I've just heard of it. But, a trip to China seems fun." said Ayanokouji. Mii-chan nodded her head in agreement and a look of nostalgic appeared on her face. It seems talking in her native tongue and an interesting topic seems to make more comfortable around Ayanokouji. The shyness from Mii-chan before is mostly gone.
"You speak very good Mandarin, Ayanokouji-kun!" said Mii-chan.
"Thank you, but it's nothing compared to a native speaker." said Ayanokouji.
"Even so, some native speakers would probably think that you're a native speaker or someone with Chinese parents. That's really good, Ayanokouji-kun!" said Mii-chan. Ayanokouji thanked her again before Ayanokouji asked her if she's going to check out counter with the him. Mii-chan nodded and followed Ayanokouji to the cashier, continuing their conversation in Mandarin.
"You're pretty good at Japanese, Mii-chan. It's almost like you're a native." said Ayanokouji.
"Thanks for that, Ayanokouji-kun. But, I'm still a little nervous about speaking Japanese. I'm not exactly a native speaker." said Mii-chan.
"You can practice with me anytime. Let's switch back to Japanese."
"Thanks for that. You're a pretty nice guy." said Mii-chan, switching back to Japanese.
"Nah, but thanks for the compliment though."
Ayanokouji fell silent as the clerk finished scanning the items and bagged them. He paid his points with a simple touch of his phone. Ayanokouji grabbed his bags and move a few steps back, waiting for Mii-chan to finish buying her items. Ayanokouji noticed that she bought some ingredients for cooking. He noticed something new: wonton wrappings. It looked like Mii-chan is buying a huge quantity of meat, green onions, and wonton wrappings. Ayanokouji deduced that Mii-chan knew how to homemade wontons and is making some to store in the freezer for future consumption.
Mii-chan finished purchasing her items and approached Ayanokouji.
"Thank you for waiting for me." said Mii-chan.
"No problem. Are you going back to the dorms?" asked Ayanokouji. Mii-chan nodded and Ayanokouji suggested that they go back together to which Mii-chan agreed. The two took the escalator down to the ground floor in silence. Ayanokouji asked her about the wontons wrapping.
"You noticed? I can make homemade wontons. It's better to have some food stored up in the freezer, ready to be eaten than going shopping every day." explained Mii-chan.
"Did you spend too many points buying all those ingredients?" said Ayanokouji.
"It's not too much. It's an investment. I can eat these wontons later instead of going out to eat daily."
"I see."
That's an actually smart way. It saves points and time.
"So, you can cook? You'll make the perfect wife." said Ayanokouji.
"E-ehh... Ayanokouji-kun, y-you don't mean that." said Mii-chan, averting her eyes away from Ayanokouji and blushing slightly.
"You do have some good quality as a wife. By the way, let me try out some of your wontons later."
"T-thank you... I-I'll let you know..." muttered Mii-chan. The silence came back again as the duo left the Keyaki Mall and on the way back to the dorm. Mii-chan stopped blushing, but her face is a little red. The dorm is getting closer and their time is ending before Mii-chan spoke up.
"Ayanokouji-kun, thanks for talking to me and keeping me as company." said Mii-chan.
"I should say the same to you." said Ayanokouji.
"I guess we ought to thank each other, so our thank you's cancel each other out." said Mii-chan, putting up a little smile.
The duo entered the dorm building and elevator together. Ayanokouji pressed the 4th floor and Mii-chan pressed the 8th floor. The elevator closed and began moving upward.
"Ayanokouji-kun, c-can I have your phone number?"
"Sure."
Ayanokouji turned on his phone and gave Mii-chan his phone number. A notification appeared on his phone as Mii-chan was added to his contacts.
"Thank you. I'll let you know once I finished making the wontons."
"Ohh... you don't really have to do that for me."
"It's no problem. I can spare some few wontons. Think of it as my treat for letting practice my Japanese with you."
"I see."
The elevator stopped and opened up to Ayanokouji's floor. Ayanokouji stepped out the elevator and glanced at Mii-chan who set one of her shopping bag down on the floor and was waving back at him.
"Bye Ayanokouji-kun. See you tomorrow in class." said Mii-chan.
"See you later, Mii-chan." said Ayanokouji. The elevator door shut and the elevator ascended. Ayanokouji made his way into his room and set the bags into the kitchen counter.
It seems that I got another classmate's contact. It's a girl...
Ayanokouji shook that thought away from his mind and rolled up his school uniform sleeve. He took out the ingredients he bought and washed his hands.
It's time to cook.
*Timeskip (45 minutes later)*
Ayanokouji set his bowl of oyakodon on the newly set table. He grabbed a cartoon of green tea from his refrigerator and poured a glass for himself.
"Let's eat" said Ayanokouji. Ayanokouji stuck his chopsticks into the bowl and pulled out a bit of rice, chicken, and egg with his chopsticks. Ayanokouji studied it for a moment admiring his creation before putting into his mouth. The flavor of chicken and egg exploded into his mouth. The combination of chicken, egg, and rice is a good combination and tasted delicious.
I should make oyakodon often. The ingredients are cheap and it's easy to make.
Ayanokouji finished devouring his dinner and started washing the dishes. Ayanokouji's phone rang out and he dried his hands before picking it up. It's from Kushida.
'Ayanokouji-kun, let's go to school tomorrow.' said Kushida, with a smiling emoji. Ayanokouji thought about it and decided there's nothing wrong with the proposal and he agreed. The time agreed upon was 7:40 AM. Ayanokouji set down the phone and a moment later, his phone buzzed again. He picked it up and saw a text from Horikita.
'Ayanokouji-kun. I have a proposal for you that may interest you. I'm giving you the honor to walk with me to school tomorrow. Of course, it's up to you whether or not you decide to go. If you decide to go, I'll be waiting at the lobby at 7:40 AM. Don't you dare be late. If you do not arrive by 7:45 AM, I will leaving without you. You're not worth waiting for and not worth a late absence. You have much to think, Ayanokouji-kun.' said Horikita.
Ayanokouji frowned at Horikita's odd way of asking him to walk to school with her. But, he decided not to anger his neighbor and agreed. Ayanokouji also factored in the fact that both Horiktia and Kushida are his soulmates and choosing one over the other will lead to bad relationship with the girl that was chosen.
Horikita is a... what did Eiichiro say about those type of girls? Ice queen tsundere? I don't know, but why did write a paragraph? I guess I'm walking to school with two of my soulmates. I hope nothing bad happens.
*Timeskip (7:35 AM)*
Ayanokouji exited the elevator and entered in the lobby. The students behind him begin to pass him as Ayanokouji looked around for the two girls. Ayanokouji spotted Horikita and Kushida staring at each other, awkwardly as both parties were confused on why the other is waiting there. They both spotted Ayanokouji and their eyes lit up in excitement as Ayanokouji approached them.
"Good morning, Ayanokouji-kun!" said Kushida, cheerfully.
"Hello, Ayanokouji-kun." said Horikita. Both of the girl's eyes widened and squinted at each other suspiciously.
"What is she doing here, Ayanokouji-kun?" asked Horikita, giving Kushida a side look.
"She asked me if I could walk with her to school. Conveniently, it was the same time as you." said Ayanokouji. Horikita gave Ayanokouji a glare before muttering something to herself.
"Don't be like that Horikita-san! Let's go to school together!" said Kushida, smiling at Horikita. Horikita scowled and glared at Kushida and Ayanokouji before begrudgingly agreeing to it.
'I should have texted him before Kushida-san. I've spent too much time thinking and typing my text to him. Wait?! Why am I thinking about this? I've just wanted to warn him about Kushida-san! It's not because I like him!' thought Horikita.
Ayanokouji. Horikita, and Kushida began walking to school. This drew the attention of some of the first-year students especially the male students. Ayanokouji and Horikita walked in silence as Kushida tried to make some small talk with them. Horikita ignored Kushida and stepped closer to Ayanokouji. Kushida's eyes narrowed as she saw Horikita's actions and Kushida stepped closer to Ayanokouji's other side. They both glared at each other and grabbed one of Ayanokouji's arms. Ayanokouji now has two girls clinging on to him as they walked to school. The boys were glaring at Ayanokouji and wondering why Ayanokouji has two girls clinging onto him especially Kushida, who became popular among the first-years.
How did I get into this situation? Two girls clinging to my arm as we're walking to school. Eiichiro introduced me to the harem genre and this is the literal trope of harem.
'Why am I doing this with him?! Why? Am I interested in Ayanokouji-kun? No, this can't be. The only thing that matters is reaching Nii-san. I finally get to see after 2 years. Why am I doing this? For some reason, I feel calm and comfortable with Ayanokouji-kun. It's the same feeling when I'm with Nii-san.' thought Horikita.
'What is happening to me?! Why is it always with this guy? Ever since, I met with him yesterday. My feelings and views for him changed! I've never felt this way towards anybody. But why him?!Is he different than the others?' thought Kushida.
Both girls were blushing furiously as those thoughts entered their minds. Ayanokouji wondered if the power of soulmates are manipulating their actions or if it's something that they are doing with their own volition.
By the time Ayanokouji and the two girls entered the classroom, their classmates were staring at them and some of the boys were sending death threats and glares at Ayanokouji.
"This guy..."
"No, Kushida-chan!"
"Two girls at once."
"A man of culture and harem protagonist!"
Goodbye peaceful life-chan. She's gone! Taken away by his soulmates.
Most of the girls were confused by Kushida's actions and wondered why she's with Ayanokouji. Most people at that point believed that Ayanokouji was friends with Horikita or getting closer because they were seen together. They were confused on why Kushida decided to become friendly with those two, but it was strange. Kushida stated that she wanted to be friends with everybody, but she doesn't get close to and cling to other people's arm. The only exception was Ayanokouji which triggered most of the boys in the class.
Horikita made it to her respective desk and sat down. Horikita intensified her glare and the usual perverted boys stopped approaching Ayanokouji. It seems like Sudou seems to be getting along with the perverted duo: Ike and Yamauchi. Those three are known as the Three Idiots. Ike and Yamauchi seems like to be in a good mood at the morning of class. They looked happy, cheerful, and early in class. They usually don't arrive to the class until the last minute. They were smiling and whispering to each other, but it's wasn't a whisper because Ayanokouji can heard them clearly who was standing nearby.
"Hey, Professor! Come here for a sec!"
"Uh, you called?"
A chubby boy, apparently nicknamed "The Professor," approached them slowly. If Ayanokouji remembered correctly, his name was Sotomura.
"Professor, can you record the girls wearing their swimsuits for us?" Ike asked.
"Leave it to me. I'll pretend to be sick so that I can skip class and observe."
"Record? What are you planning?" Ayanokouji asked.
"Ayanokouji..." scoffed Ike.
"You don't need to know. You'll probably tell Kushida-chan or Horikita-chan our plan." said Yamauchi, scowling.
"Chill out, guys. Ayanokouji won't snitch on us." said Suduo, eyeing him up. Ayanokouji nodded.
"The Professor is going to rank the girls' breast sizes for us. If we're lucky, he'll get some pictures with his phone."
"Hey, hey." Sudou visibly drew back in response to Ike's plan. If the girls found out about it, the consequences would be severe.
"To tell you the truth, we're taking bets on the girls' chest sizes."
"We've come up with some probabilities."
The Professor took out a tablet and opened a spreadsheet. The names of all the girls in our class were displayed. There were numbers listed as well. Ayanokouji had no interest in gambling, so he stayed silent and watched on.
As of right now, Hasebe was the likeliest contender for the biggest breasts in the class. The odds sat at one to eight. I hadn't heard most of the names before.
"This is way more elaborate than I would have thought. Aren't you observing them a little too closely?" said Ayanokouji .
"Come on. We're men, aren't we? Men have only two things constantly on their minds: tits and ass!" said Ike.
Even if that were true, he really had no filter whatsoever. By the way, Horikita was ranked lowest. If you managed to win the bet, that was over thirty times your wager back. Well, in terms of breast size, it was obvious who would win and who would lose. Horikita had no chance.
"So, what's your wager? It's 1000 points to join."
"I see..."
Ayanokouji clearly lacked information. Scanning the list, Ayanokouji realized that not only did he did not know the breast sizes of half the people here, he didn't even know the names and faces of most the girls.
Actually, aside from Horikita, Kushida, Mii-chan, Onodera, and Mori, he couldn't recall hearing about anyone else.
Kushida seemed to have fairly large breasts, but not large enough to take first place. I won't risk any points for this. Plus I think some of the girls are catching on with their schemes.
"Come on, play with us. It's no fun if there're only a few people betting, you know?"
"I'll do it!
"Me too, me too!"
"I have experience scouting girls and checking out their tits!"
While Ayanokouji was considered the offer, boys crawled out of the woodwork around
him, getting blatantly excited over the size of the girls' breasts. The girls in the classroom looked at the growing number of boys in the group like they were dirt.
"I'll join, too. By the way, my money's on Sakura." Yamauchi chimed in.
Sakura was a somewhat plain girl who wore glasses, but because Ayanokouji barely talked to anyone, he honestly didn't know that much about her. While it looked like he was pondering something, Yamauchi tapped the Professor and Ike on the shoulders and whispered something to them.
"I'm only telling you guys about this. The truth is, I actually confessed to Sakura."
"What?! S-seriously?!" Ike was the most surprised and flustered by this. Has his goal to become the first guy in class to snag a girlfriend fallen through?
"Yeah, seriously. But keep this on the down low. It's just between us, okay? I mean, I thought she was really plain at first, but then I saw her wearing regular clothes. She was huge, man."
"You doofus. If she's not cute, you shouldn't ask her out, even if she's got huge tits. I wouldn't date anyone unless they were in the same league as Kushida or Hasebe. I'm not interested in such a Plain Jane."
Ayanokouji wondered if what Yamauchi said was true, but he already knew that Yamauchi is a type of guy to lie to try to impress people. He's most likely lying about confessing to Sakura. Ayanokouji left the big group of boys and sat down at his seat.
Ayanokouji stared out the window and wondered how many girls in this school can become his soulmates. He calculated that there's 80 girls in one year which meant half of the 160 students in a year are females. The possibilities of Ayanokouji getting a soulmate with his senpais is also there. So there are a potential 240 students throughout the first, second, and third years that can be his soulmates. God also mentioned that it's all girl, so Ayanokouji's soulmates could be Chabashira-sensei or any female faculty members. Ayanokouji internally sighed as he realized the number of girls and woman in the school and how his soulmate "powers" can work on them. The possibilities of most of my soulmates being from this school is very high.
A few minutes later, Chabashira-sensei entered the classroom and homeroom began.
Swimming class is going to be an interesting time...

Author's Note:
Yo! Author-san here! I'm going to put up a little vote right here. Whoever gets the most comments and votes will become the next soulmate. I want to focus on the Class D girls (especially the side characters).
1) Kokoro Inogashira
2) Ruri Ichihashi
3) Mii-chan
4) Kayano Onodera
5) Mori Nene
I have some ideas on how to make it happened.
Until next, my dear readers.
