I stared at the ocean from my window and took a deep breath when I heard the door to my room open.

"Nikky?" I glanced behind me to see Elizabeth before I turned back around. "Why aren't you ready to go?" I shook my head at her before finally turning.

"I'm not going to watch your fiancee kill Jack, Lizzy," I told her glancing at the dress hanging over my changing screen. Another corset given to me by my father. The dress was bright as though I was happy with what was happening today.

"There's nothing we can do about it. We tried," she tried reminding me and I just gave her a look.

"Father managed to get both me and Will off for what we did. This is no different. Jack helped save our lives!"

"He's still a pirate Nikky, which means that he has awful things he's done before he decided to save our lives."

"I suppose freedom requires a price then," I scoffed before looking back out the window.

"Freedom?" she asked me confused. "What are you talking about? Is this about what Jack said on the island?"

"...what a ship is - what the Black Pearl really is ... is freedom."

"Of course not. Go, I'll be fine on my own." I heard her sigh before she left my room. I watched both her and father enter the carriage and leave before I finally moved from the window to my closet. I pushed away all the dresses and smiled at what was behind them. It was time.

3rd POV

Will and his companion made their way through the people to see Jack being read everything he'd done as a pirate. Will looked to the side to see Elizabeth standing with her father and the Commodore.

"This is wrong," Elizabeth said unhappily making her father turn to her. She knew Nicole was right when they'd spoken earlier, but what could a woman do in this world? Her father looked at Norrington before speaking.

"Commodore Norrington is bound by the law," her father reminded her. "As are we all." Norrington looked at the ground at his words before looking back at Jack. Will's companion took a deep breath before noticing the parrot landing on a flag. Will looked up at the noise the parrot was making as his companion smiled. They'd gotten the letter.

"It's time." Will turned and made a beeline for Elizabeth. What they were about to do would change everything.

"Govoner Swan. Commodore." both men bowed their heads to acknowledge him as he looked at the love of his life. "Elizabeth." she looked down at him. "I should have told you every day from the moment I met you." she looked at him confused. "I love you." The two men beside her turned to her as she stared down at Will shock glazing over her features. He turned back to his companion and forced his way through the crowd as the drums picked up speed.

"C'mon Will..." Elizabeth finally took notice of the parrot as it flew away. Norrington moved forward to stop Will and Elizabeth looked at her father.

"I can't breathe..." She fell back and immediately the two men were at her side. Will and his companion drew their swords making the crowd scream in fear. Jack looked at the executioner as he placed his hand on the lever that would snap his neck.

"Move!" Will ordered before the drums stopped. Elizabeth shot up looking in Jack's direction as Jack fell through the trap door and Will threw his sword. The sword plunged into the wood and Jack was able to stand on it saving him from certain death. Will and his companion made their way to the executioner so they could cut the rope holding Jack's life. His companion turned in time to see the marines coming at them from behind. As they fought the hat fell from their head revealing long brown hair and a women's face making the men freeze in shock.

"Hello boys," Nicole smiled at them before raising her sword and attacking them again.

Nicole POV

"Would you cut the rope already?!" I called to Will as I pushed back the soldiers.

"Little busy at the moment!"

"Just use your damn sword!" I turned in time to see him drop his sword. The executioner attacked Will with the ax and I pulled him down making the ax hit the post holding Jack's rope. Will and I pushed the executioner onto the crowd as Norrington got to the stage before jumping off as Jack ran from under it. Jack threw Will the rope as the three of us ran. Three marines came at us and the boys knocked them over before the next batch they tripped. They managed to catch two guards with the rope and knock them into a stone pillar. With the rope gone, the boys had to fight hand-to-hand while I still had my sword. We tried running for the edge of the wall but we were surrounded by marines. I placed myself between them and Jack with Will at my back.

"I knew I might have to endure some manner of ill-conceived escape attempt, but not from the two of you." I turned to see Norrington with his sword on the side of Will's throat.

"On our return to Port Royal I granted you clemency," Father reminded Will. "And this is how you thank me? By throwing in your lot with him? Nicole, get over here."

"No."

"He's a pirate!"

"And a good man," Will added dropping the sword he'd taken from one of the marines before grabbing mine and doing the same. "If all I achieved here is the hangman with hang three pairs of boots instead of one, then so be it. At least our conscience will be clear."

"Nicole, step away from that man!"

"I will not. Jack saved our lives and as gratitude, you want to kill him?" I asked looking at the two men in front of us. "You claim to be men of honor, but I see none before me."

"Nicole!"

"The two of you forget your place," Norrington warned.

"I'm right where I want to be," I told him.

"It's right here between you and Jack." Elizabeth, who'd been standing next to father the entire time, surprised everyone by moving to stand beside Will and in front of me forcing me to stand closer to Jack so I wouldn't get stabbed.

"As is mine." she linked her arm with Will's and stared down her fiancee.

"Elizabeth!" Father looked at the men surrounding us. "Lower your weapons." The marines didn't listen. "For goodness sake put them down!" the soldiers finally did as they were told and lowered their weapons. I took a deep breath and ignored the fact that once Elizabeth was in danger father ordered the guns lowered while when it was just me, he said nothing.

"So this is where your heart truly lies?" Norrington asked her, his face showing his pain and sadness over losing the woman he loved.

"It is," We were all silent for a moment before Jack spoke up.

"Well, I'm actually feeling rather good about this," he told everyone moving from my side to be better seen by all. "I think we've all arrived at a very special place, ay?" Jack moved to my father and got right in his face making him turn away in disgust. "Spiritually? Ecumenically? Grammatically?" Jack moved to Norrington and got in his face now. "I want you to know I was rooting for you, mate. Know that." Jack moved back before coming back to my side. "Elizabeth," she turned to him. "Good luck with your... you." He moved behind us a bit. "Will," the three of us turned to him. "Nice hat." He made his way to the ledge and I looked at the ground, sighing. "Nicole," my head shot up to see his hand out, palm up. "To freedom?" I stared at his hand before smiling.

"Nicole?" I looked at my father, smile still on my face.

"Thank you, for everything you've done for me." I hugged Elizabeth close to me. "I love you. Be happy." I smiled at Will before running to Jack, my hand easily finding his.

"Lads," the marines moved toward us and we quickly moved to the edge of the wall where I'd fallen once before. "This is the day that you will always remember as the day that y..." we moved backward before tripping and falling straight into the water. We released each other's hands before swimming to the surface and taking a large gulp of air.

"Land Ho!" We shared a smile before turning to see the Black Pearl coming towards us. We swam to the side of the ship and he grabbed a rope they'd thrown down to us before wrapping his arm around my waist. They pulled us up and we sailed through the air before landing on the ship. Mr. Gibbs approached us and Jack gave him a look.

"Thought you were supposed to keep to the code?"

"We figured they were more actual... guidelines," Gibbs told us smiling as the rest of the crew joined him. He lowered his hand and Jack grabbed it before the two of us stood. Cotton handed Jack his hat which Jack took with a thank you before placing it on his head.

"Captain Sparrow," we turned to Angelica to see her with her arm thrown over the wheel. She grabbed a jacket and placed it on Jack's shoulders. "The Black Pearl is yours." Jack looked at the wheel with a smile and moved to it. He rubbed the wood lovingly before noticing the entire crew staring at him.

"On deck you scabbers dogs!" He continued to give orders as the crew scurried about. "Now, bring me that horizon." I moved to stand beside him, staring at where the ocean met the sky as Jack started to hum a very familiar tune. I felt an arm wrap around my waist and pull me to a toned chest. I looked down at the hand to see Jack's compass pointing at me before spinning.

"And really bad eggs..." Jack turned the wheel in the direction of the arrow on the compass.

"Drink up me hearties, yo ho!"
