Chapter 5 The Dragon Boy
I'm so happy that a lot of you are excited about this story. I've been going over how the rich kids and everyone else would react to the transformation. Before making my final decision.
I'm sure you viewers will like what I have.
Let's jump right in.
[The Dragon Boy]
The boy gasped in surprise to see Chihiro, as if he recognized her. But she didn't seem to know the boy.
Blinking away his shock, the boy marches up to Chihiro.
Boy: You shouldn't be here. Get out of there, now!
Chihiro: What?
Chihiro gets off of the wooden rail.
Boy: It's almost night. Leave before it gets dark!
"How rude!"
"Does he not know how to treat a lady?"
Mr. Henderson "Children."
The chatter stopped as the kids had their attention on the school's headmaster.
Mr. Henderson "While the boy's shouts were inelegant, he was in the right to warn young Chihiro."
Ewen "Warn?"
Loid "Only eight or nine seconds in."
Emile "In for what?"
Yor "Danger."
Martha "Something or someone is coming, and he knows it."
Damian "He's trying to save her?"
That's when Anya notices something about the scene.
Anya "Mr. Sun is going away and Mr. Moon is coming."
The adults and children saw what the pink-haired girl was saying. The time flow was moving faster than a normal sunset. What in the world was happening?
As the sun began to set fast, dark shadows filled in as the lamps of the bathhouse came to life, causing the boy to be more on edge and wary of what was coming.
Boy: They're lighting the lamps….
He then hurriedly pushed Chihiro to run as he told her.
Boy: Get out here! You need to get across the river, go! I'll distract them!
As Chihiro ran, the boy blew on his hands with his thumb and index finger close together, releasing flower petals.
Becky "Flowers?"
Damian "How are flower petals supposed to help?!"
Anya "How did he do it? Magic?"
Something about the movie was telling the parents and teachers that this wasn't some normal cartoon movie. Like Spy Wars.
And what was the clinking noise that sounded like glass chimes?
As Chihiro runs with the lamplight following her trail, she stops for a moment to rub her eyes and looks back at the boy who told her to run. And wonders…
Chihiro: What's up with him?
Before she continues running back to retrieve her parents.
As the restaurants' lamps and lights begin to light up, strange black, shadowy creatures begin to appear all around. From the ground, in the buildings, and out on the streets.
Bill "What are those things?!"
George "G-Ghost?!"
Chihiro was scared, but she was solely focused on finding her parents.
Chihiro: Mom! Dad!
Sitting at the booths were her parents, but their bodies seemed a bit larger than they were moments ago. Chihiro runs to her father's side and shakes him to get his attention.
Chihiro: Come on, quit eating! Let's get out of here!
Cut to first-person point of view. Chihiro's father turns to face her, but instead of her dad, it is a huge pig eating away the food in its mouth dressed in her father's clothes. Chihiro let out a gasp of shock and flinched away from what could be her dad.
The children had the same reaction as Chihiro's.
"Did-Did her parents turn into pigs?!"
"Don't be stupid! Those are just normal pigs!"
"Wearing their exact same clothes?!"
It soon dawned on the remaining adults in the room. While they stayed, the others went to eat in the second cafeteria hall.
Martha "Madame…"
Mr. Henderson "Please tell me…"
Loid "You didn't!"
Christine turns to them with a neutral expression, before a smile crept on her face that says, "I did. I took great pleasure in doing so, and I don't regret it."
Yor took hold of her daughter and held her close. Bond whines as he wiggles his way closer to his owner's side.
The remaining parents also held their children as close to them as possible, while Damian and his friends tried to seek comfort from each other. Soon, Damian felt a hand on his shoulder, causing him to look up to see Loid reassuring him that he was here, and would help keep him and his friends safe.
As if he didn't recognize Chihiro, Akio continues to eat the food like the pig he is, knocking the dishes, foods, and soy sauce over onto the ground. Chihiro was creeped out of the mess until she heard a sharp slapping sound. Looking up, Chihiro sees the pig in her dad's clothes trying to get more food, only to be repeatedly swatted harshly by a fly swatter.
After a couple of swats, the pig let out a squeal before falling over to his side into the mounds of food scraps. Chihiro streams as she's backed into a wooden pillar before running out of there, as the pig lets out a loud squeal as saliva spills from its lips.
Seeing the adults' reaction, all the other kids were putting the pieces together.
"Mom…Dad.."
"Daddy!"
"Mommy!"
All the other kids ran towards the door, as Christine pause the movie.
Mr. Henderson "Children!"
The parents and their kids got up and ran after the rich kids. Soon, however, they stop right at the entranceway in the second cafeteria. And what they saw left all of them speechless.
Pigs.
Pigs eating off from the tables and floor.
Pigs in clothes that belonged to the high-class parents.
Pigs getting swatted by a fly swatter like in the movie by the black foggy creatures.
These pigs are the parents!
"AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
The children screamed and ran back to the auditorium with the parts and headmaster. Only the Fordgers stayed behind, not that they were frozen scared no. But to lock the only door that leads the pigs out of the cafeteria.
With Bond barking at the pigs to get back, Loid shuts the door and Yor uses a mop and broom to keep the door handles lock in place.
Yor "This should hold them in."
Anya "Does that mean Mama and Papa won't turn into pigs, too?"
Yor scoops up her daughter.
Yor "That's right, we're not."
Loid "Christine spared us along with the others."
Yor "But why? Why would she do such a horrible thing?"
Loid "I can guess a few things, but something tells me we're about to find out."
The family made their way back to the auditorium, where everyone else was panicking, crying, denying, or trying to calm down. All the while trying to find…
Loid "CHRISTINE!"
The goddess that's supposed to be hosting the event is no longer here.
"You rang?"
Or so it would seem.
One of the rich girls demanded, "You got some explaining to do, you bitch!"
Mr. Henderson "Young lady! We do not use foul language here!"
Christine "There's a reason behind it, and the movie will explain it for me in about twenty minutes."
Mr. Blackbell "That's not an answer!"
Christine "It's the only answer you'll get out of me."
Ewen "Are we going to turn into pigs, too?!"
All of the kids were afraid, and while Anya was still shaken up, she still wanted to know if she and her parents would be turned into pigs by Christine.
Christine "Did you or anyone have eaten the food that was in the cafeteria?"
Emile "No."
Christine "There's your answer. Now go back to your seats, the movie isn't over."
They all let out a sigh of relief as they filed back into their seats. Once everyone was seated, Christine hit play on the remote.
As Chihiro ran away and panicked, she shouted out for her parents.
Chihiro: Mom! Dad! Where are you!?
As more spirits started to appear and fill the empty streets and the stalls of the restaurant, Chihiro seeing them was even more scared.
Chihiro: Mommy!
She shouted and as a spirit passed by her, she yelped and ran back the way she and her parents came from, dodging the shadowy creatures along the way.
It wasn't that long ago that the rich and high-class kids experienced what Chihiro is going through, now that they are in the same boat with her.
Once Chihiro reaches the stone steps to the river, she hurries down the stone step that leads back to the train station, but when she gets to the last step…
Splash!
The water came up to her waist.
Chihiro: Water!?
Chihiro crawls out of the dark water, once out, she turns around to see that the fields have been turned into a large river.
Mr. Witkin "How is there a river?! There wasn't any much water there, to begin with?!"
Loid "There must be a low and high tide for the water to rise."
Yor "That would explain why the boy wanted Chihiro to get across the river quickly."
Anya "But what about those black thingies?"
[Procession of the Spirits]
As Chihiro looked on she saw that the station clocks had come to life and lamps lighting the ounce lonesome emptiness of the streets and the river that had magically appeared there was a boat.
Chihiro: What?
She shuts her eyes and pounds on her head repeatedly.
Chihiro: I'm dreaming! I'm dreaming!
Chihiro paused to look up to see if the water had disappeared, but it didn't.
Chihiro: Come on! Wake up! Wake up!
Chihiro desperately tries to shake herself to wake from what seems to be a nightmare, she slumps down, burying herself in her legs moaning out the words "Wake up." as she buries herself scared.
Many of the other kinds were also whispering to themselves that this whole thing was nothing more than a dream to them.
But sadly it wasn't.
Cut to the ferryboat coming closer to the steps before cutting back to Chihiro who is rocking herself back and forth trying to comfort and convince herself that this whole situation isn't real.
Chihiro: It's just a dream. Just a dream. Go away, go away. Disappear.
Rich Boy 1 "I want all of this to disappear, too."
High-Class Girl 2 "Same here."
That's when Damian notices something off about Chihiro.
Damian "Wait, what's happening to her?!"
As she was rocking herself for comfort, Chihiro began to notice something off about herself. She saw her hands were looking fainter and lighter. Cut to the first point of view, the screen shows Chihiro's hands are now transparent and the lights of the ferry can be seen through them.
Chihiro: I'm See-through!
Everyone was shocked at this discovery, so much so that they even looked down at their own hands to see if they too had become see-through.
With most of the adults turned into pigs, and black-like creatures roaming around the school, It would be a wise decision to see if anything were to happen to them.
Luckily, everyone was solid.
Becky "I'm starting to get a bit scared."
Her mom and dad started to comfort their daughter's worries, and so did the rest of the parents with their kids.
Though, the remaining kids sought refuge with their headmaster, Martha, and the Forgers. They accept them and try their best to soothe their worries.
Even the Forger's dog, Bond, helps them by letting them pet and rub his belly.
Chihiro rubs her hands and arms, she looks at herself, and soon she realizes that she is becoming more translucent.
Chihiro: It's just a bad dream!
But as she tried to reason what was happening, she saw the Ferry docking and doors opening, revealing a line of flouting paper masks before red robes and nobility hats appeared on them. These creatures were Kasuga-Samas.
Damian "Okay, I'll be the one who's saying it, What are those monsters!?"
Bill "They look more like ghosts or phantoms!"
Recalling what the title of the movie is called, Loid knew what they really were.
Loid "They're spirits."
As the Kasuga-Samas passed, soon a line of more supernatural spirits followed. Chihiro slowly backed away, but when she looked down at the waters, more fog-like spirits rose from the depths of the river.
Chihiro: AH!
She yelled in panic at the presence of these creatures. She ran up the grassy hill, and slips, but got back up and away from the spirits.
Emile "You mean all those black things we saw in the cafeteria?"
Ewen "They're spirits?!"
Christine "Loid Forger is correct. And it's not just them, all of them are spirits."
Now it was starting to click. The title of the movie was now starting to make sense. "Spirited Away" is a lost child story who is literally lost in a world where the supernatural lives, and where humans are not allowed.
Becky "Then that boy, is he a spirit too? Why does he look like a human?"
Christine "Some spirits will have a human appearance or have a human disguise. While others will have an animal, demonic, or even a vegetable appearance."
Martha "Interesting."
Anya "Are there any bad spirits?"
Christine "There might be, if you anger them."
Yor "So that's less likely to happen."
Christine "Yes."
Anya "Okay, Anya only asks because Anya is worried about Chihiro."
Smiling at their daughter, Yor and Loid were happy about Anya's concerns for the fictional girl. Just as they would be worried about her if something ever happened to them.
Yor and Loid 'I hope things will go well in the end.'
But there was one thing on everyone's mind before they started watching the movie again.
What's going to happen to the transformed parents?
That's the end of chapter 5, hope it was worth the wait.
I had to go over my writing to make sure everything was so that the story has a strong and steady read for the viewers.
And I love how it turned out. The next one would, might or may not be as long as chapter 5, but it will still be a good chapter.
See ya later.
