A/N: Thank you guys so much for the lovely comments on the previous chapter! I cherish them all.

In the following weeks, Brittany was now fully into her second trimester and it showed. By December when she was in her fourteenth week, the blonde and her girlfriend noticed how much rounder her baby bump was becoming. She was beginning to show more, much earlier than either of them expected.

Her morning sickness was still pretty bad but she was constantly tired or hungry for those unusual food combinations she liked so much now. Apparently the baby was really into fast food because that was all Brittany seemed to want now. They had expected all of these symptoms to get better since the second trimester was supposed to be the easiest but that didn't seem to be the case for Brittany.

Since they were officially dating again and Santana was sleeping with her, Brittany felt a lot more content, even if the symptoms were rough. Being able to go to sleep in Santana's arms and make love with her at every chance they got had definitely made her experience of pregnancy much better.

It made everything so much less stressful when she had Santana.

Even though they had been a team even before, it really felt like they were in this together now and she never had to feel lonely again, or wonder if Santana didn't love her back the same way she did.

Santana had quit her awful Sheets 'n' Things job - or at least, that was the way she told it; the truth was Terri had fired her after she got into a fist fight with some woman who kept complaining that Santana folded her sheets incorrectly - and the Latina was now working another retail job at this preppy clothing store at the only mall in Lima. According to Santana, it was the crappiest store in the whole of Lima, or maybe on the entire planet earth.

Brittany had discovered that Santana and the retail industry was the worst combination known to humankind.

The dark-haired girl couldn't stand it.

Meanwhile, Terri's repeat customers were reportedly terrified of the wrath of Santana.

The front door to the Pierce house slammed open and Santana instantly kicked her heels off then shrugged off her jacket. Brittany winced when she felt Santana's energy, already sensing that she must have had a terrible day at work.

"What the fuck is wrong with these degenerates?" The Latina complained, groaning loudly and cursing as she made her way into the Pierce house a half an hour later than Brittany expected her to be back. "Are these weirdos just born stupid? I'm losing brain cells and getting grey hair from dealing with these idiots. They're always asking if I work there - why the fuck would I be wearing a lame ass uniform and a name tag if I didn't? Some dude tried to pay us in Monopoly money today. Then this fucking bitch comes in two minutes before closing and suddenly wants to try on everything then buys nothing."

The taller girl was laying on the couch, doing homework as her mom had picked her up from school that day while Santana had to work late. Her girlfriend let out some choice expletives when she accidentally banged her foot on the table leg and began to hop around on one leg as she grimaced. Brittany bit back a smile, feeling sorry for her but thinking it was adorable somehow when Santana was clumsy.

Maybe it was something to do with the soulmate magic but Brittany had sensed her girlfriend's presence even long before Santana pulled up in their driveway and already made coffee for her.

"I know they suck, I'm sorry, San. You're cursing like a pirate," Brittany giggled but instantly got up to put her arms around her and pulled her close after Santana had ranted and raved several times about annoying customers and co-workers. "You know, you really don't have to do this anymore. My parents aren't expecting you to pay for anything and you have your inheritance. Even if you just stayed home and cuddled with Lord Tubbington, it's not as if any of us would care."

Santana shook her head and Brittany understood. Santana had always been the extroverted type, just like Brittany was. Except, she was more assertive- more of a go-getter between the two. Santana was the type who wanted to be active and get involved in things. As much as she complained about work and always said she should just get paid to look hot, she hated being bored just as much. The blonde knew her girlfriend wouldn't be content to just stay at home doing nothing while Brittany was at school.

"I know your parents aren't expecting that from me but I just want to feel useful. I want to feel like I can provide for you and the baby if I need to."

Brittany cupped Santana's jaw, stroking her thumbs over it and then slipping her arms around her shoulders, holding her tightly.

"I know, Baby. You're doing so well. Thanks for trying so hard for us."

"Wait a minute, I just realized I haven't even greeted you properly yet," Santana's angry expression dropped, her lips curving upward in a soft smile and most of the tension leaving her features as Brittany continued to hold her. She already felt calmer the longer she stayed in Brittany's sweet presence. "Hi, Beautiful."

After kissing Brittany's lips sweetly, she leaned down to press her palms against her girlfriend's stomach gently, caressing it and leaning down to press a kiss to her baby bump.

"Hi, Peanut."

"Aw, our little Peanut," Brittany loved the nickname Santana had started to give their baby. She looked down at her stomach in wonderment. "San, I don't know, I'm hearing all these voices talking to me psychically and I think I might be having more than one of these. I think I'm having a litter."

Her dreams had initially been about a little boy but now she was getting visions of several of them calling to her.

Santana wasn't quite as calm about that observation as Brittany felt. She had a similar facial expression to when Brittany first told her she was pregnant, her eyebrows darting up high up toward her hairline as her mouth fell open and her skin went pale.

"M-more than one baby?"

"Yeah."

Santana chuckled, shaking her head even though she felt slightly dizzy and faint. She didn't take her girlfriend's words too seriously, even if in the back of her mind she wondered if what her girlfriend was saying could be a possibility. Somehow, even having one baby by magic seemed like a lot so the possibility of having more than one of them when the first had taken so much effort seemed almost impossible.

At least, she didn't even want to think of it right then, regardless of how intuitive her girlfriend was about these things. She just couldn't imagine having their one baby, far less multiples. Her, Santana Lopez, of all people, with twins or even more? It made her head spin even to think of one little demanding Lopez baby existing.

Hopefully Brittany's influence mellowed at least him out a little. If their kid was anything like Santana, they were in trouble and she knew it.

"Aw, that's funny but you couldn't be, Britt. I mean, if you were, we've definitely got our work cut out for us and we probably wouldn't get any sleep for the next five years. Our one little peanut is gonna be a handful."

Brittany looked down at her stomach again, cupping her bump with her hands placed on top of Santana's gently.

"Maybe you're right."

"I love both of you so much." The Latina's eyes were filled with warmth and tenderness as they met hers. Brittany thought for the millionth time that she hoped the baby would get those dark brown, espresso eyes just like her girlfriend's that had always captivated her just as much every time she saw them for as long as she had known her.

It was like every time she saw Santana's face or mannerisms these days, she thought of all of the little ways she hoped their child might be similar to her. Little did Brittany know, Santana was doing the same thing whenever she noticed all the little things about her girlfriend, like her upturned eyes, cute pointy nose and naturally golden hair.

The mood between them shifted as Santana stood up straight, still stroking Brittany's soft skin on her stomach as her girlfriend whimpered. She caught the blonde's gaze, locking their lips in a kiss that was much deeper than the one she had greeted her with before.

They were cut off by the sound of little feet pattering and a high-pitched squeal, then familiar, girlish giggles.

"Hey! What are you guys doing?"

The last thing they expected was Brittany's little sister to be watching them from the other side of the living room, wide-eyed. Brittany and Santana pulled apart, surprised and sharing a look with each other that conveyed many things without any words needing to be said.

"How come you guys never tell me anything?" The little girl pouted when the two remained silent for a long time.

Stacy, who was technically her half-sister, had Brittany's straight, long blonde hair and pale skin, though her face and eye shape were a little more similar to her father, Pierce's own. The older girls could already tell from how tall she was getting and her long, lanky limbs that Stacy had inherited her height genes from the girls' 5'10 tall mother.

The couple had talked before about telling Brittany's ten year old sister what was happening between them but they still hadn't figured out what was the best way of letting Stacy know her sister was having a baby at such a young age.

They knew Stacy was frustrated at being left in the dark all the time whenever Whitney would go silent or hush Pierce up if the youngest of the girls came into the room when they were talking about Brittany's baby, or when Brittany often felt too tired or sick to play games with her little sister much anymore.

They just assumed the news might be a lot for the little girl to take in and explaining it all would be even more confusing for Stacy.

"You kissed Santana! You're dating again! I knew it!" The little blonde shouted excitedly. "That's why you guys and mom and dad have been all secretive and weird lately. I don't know what's the big deal."

Santana kept glancing in Brittany's direction with her lips pressed together worriedly. Brittany stroked her arm reassuringly. It seemed as if Stacy hadn't realized the other major change in her sister as yet. Brittany laughed along with her sister's antics. She nodded at Santana and gave her a look, letting her know wordlessly that it was okay for them to finally reveal everything to Stacy and kissed her girlfriend on the cheek.

"I guess the cat's out of the bag, Stace. There's something else you should know, though. Don't worry, it's nothing bad!" Brittany told her calmly, placing her hands on her shoulders and looking her in the eye. "So, the reason why I've been acting all weird lately isn't just because I'm dating Santana again, I'm actually pregnant."

"What! You are?!" Her sister's eyes opened wide. "No way. You guys are playing a prank on me!"

"No, really. I'm totally serious about this. Sorry I didn't tell you before. It's just been a lot to take in."

"I thought you were just getting fat from all the candy you eat!"

"Gee, thanks for the sisterly support." Brittany mumbled sarcastically and rolled her eyes but couldn't help but laugh.

Stacy's gaze drifted between Brittany and Santana and she tilted her head sideways, furrowing her brow as if she was figuring something out when she observed their body language. Santana stood close to Brittany with her arm around her waist. The couple braced themselves, wondering how she would react. Once she did figure it out, she looked elated rather than confused or disappointed, the way Santana expected she might have been.

"Oh, I get it. It's Santana's baby! Yay, you guys are having a baby together! You're the best couple ever. So that's why mom has that secret guest room renovation she won't let me see. It all makes sense now."

Stacy in her childish innocence was willing to accept that explanation without them needing to tell her anything more. It was amazing how she had figured that all out for herself. There was something about children and the way they were willing to accept things so easily without judgement. Brittany was sure the girl would even have believed the magic if they told her about that part too, though they left that out for now.

Santana just nodded, unable to keep the proud, happy look off her face. It felt good to be able to tell someone else who was important to them and be met with approval. Brittany pulled her sister into a tight hug.

"That's right, you got it, Lil Sis. You're so smart and you're gonna be the best auntie ever."

"I sure am!" Stacy agreed and Santana gave her a high-five. "Wow, I'm really gonna be an aunt!"

"Hey, does anyone want to go for ice cream?" Santana suggested, smirking when Stacy's face immediately lit up as she expected it would and Brittany had an almost identical expression. "I thought so. C'mon, Stace, go get your coat. Britt, are you up to going with us too? We can have ice cream for dinner. I know your mom won't mind, since she came up with that whole tradition in the first place."

"Oh definitely. I really want to go," Brittany agreed. "I'll go get my purse."

"Ice cream for dinner?! Oh my goodness," The youngest blonde shrieked as she ran off to get her things. "But it's so cold out!"

"So what? We can have ice cream anytime we want, right?" Her older sister chimed in.

Santana and Brittany shook their heads, chuckling at how much energy the girl had as she rushed around, grabbing her things. Stacy was such an innocent and sweet girl, reminding Santana so much of how Brittany had been when she was younger.

It had been a while since Santana had been able to hang out with both of the Pierce daughters like this, since Brittany had frequently been feeling unwell and the Latina was usually busy with her jobs. She had forgotten how fun it was to be with the two of them.

Santana took the girls to the quaint little ice cream shop across town that the three of them had always loved so much since she and Brittany were children. It was painted a light purple on the outside, so it was impossible to miss it. The owner of the shop had always treated the three of them like they were her own daughters and even gave them all an extra scoop for free.

"Here you go, Girls." Santana handed Stacy a vanilla cone while giving the strawberry one to Brittany, who thanked her with a kiss on the cheek.

The girls began excitedly discussing their plans for Christmas. Brittany secretly felt so relieved that she had Santana with her for this time of the year. She couldn't imagine how lonely she would have felt if she had to go through Christmas alone, pregnant and without Santana. Her family would be with her but it wouldn't be quite the same without the girl she had always been so in love with.

"Are you guys still going to live with us even after Britty has the baby?"

Santana was taken aback by Stacy's next question, though she should have expected it, since the girl was about as blunt and outspoken as both of her parents combined. Santana shared a look with Brittany again. Neither of them had even thought that far ahead.

The brunette glanced around nervously, noticing that the parlour was so busy with a million noisy conversations going on and no one seemed to be paying attention to what Stacy was saying. Maybe it was safe for them to talk about this here. In the back of her mind, Santana was always wondering when she and Brittany might meet up with some ignorant hateful jerk who had something to say about their relationship. Now there was also the possibility of someone judging Brittany if they figured out she was pregnant while still in school.

"Um, I guess we will, if your mom and dad let us." The Latina eventually told her quietly, though she had no doubt that the Pierces would be overjoyed to have them stay there with their newborn. She thought it was cute that Brittany kept stealing bites of her ice cream, making no effort to hide it and the bubbly blonde made a sound of approval when she tasted it.

"Yay! I hope Santana gets to live with us forever." Stacy cheered, clinging to Santana's arm. She had always been the older girl's biggest fangirl ever since she they met and idolized her.

"I hope so too," Brittany laughed. "We're so lucky to have mom around to help with the baby."

The little girl kept watching the two of them closely from across the table and they could tell she had many more questions.

"Are you having a girl or a boy?" She asked excitedly.

"We don't know yet officially," Brittany replied, taking a sip from a bottle of water. "I'm pretty sure he's a boy though."

"Are you two gonna get married soon?"

Santana nearly choked on chocolate ice cream and even Brittany's eyes opened wide when they heard this. She felt her face burn hot and saw Brittany's turn a light shade of pink as well as her sister grinned at both of them when they were put on the spot.

"Um," Santana started to say, not knowing how to handle this question. It was a lot for her to process. "So, you see…"

"You're really hitting us with the hard questions today, huh, Pipsqueak?" She teased her sister, deflecting from the topic, "No more interrogations. How about we get more ice cream? San, what do you say?"

"Yes! We need more ice cream. I want chocolate because Santana's own looked so good."

Santana smiled at Brittany, grateful for the distraction as she took her little sister up to the counter again with the older blonde following them and laughing while trying to calm her sister down as she talked about the million flavours she wanted to try. Brittany shared an ice cream cone with her girlfriend when they got back to their booth.

"I'm really glad you're the baby's other mom, Santana because you're better than any of Brittany's lame boy toys." Stacy commented sassily.

"Um, thanks." Santana mumbled awkwardly and her heart sank a little at the mention of Brittany's past flings but she did feel good to have her sister's approval.

Her eyes shot open for a second when Brittany leaned in and kissed her quickly on the lips. It was just a little peck but Santana was still taken aback because they were in public. Predictably, Stacy squealed.

"Britt?"

"Relax, no one saw us. You taste sweet," Brittany shrugged, beaming at her girlfriend. "What? Your face looked cute and I couldn't help it."

Santana couldn't help but laugh at her girlfriend's cuteness as Stacy pretended to be grossed out by all their flirting.

The brunette slipped her hand into Brittany's as they made their way back to her car afterward. She loved this feeling of being so official with Brittany and even touching her in public, like the way any other couple would be able to. It gave her a thrill every time.

That night, Brittany dreamed of holding the same little dimpled, chubby cheeked toddler she always saw in her mind's eye and walking out onto the back porch with him in her arms. She just knew somehow that he was her son.

Though she couldn't make out his features that well, she got the feeling he was about a year old if she had to guess and Santana's mirror image, except for his blond curls. All she could tell was that his smile was just like Santana's own.

"Mommy!" She wasn't expecting to hear another toddler's voice calling to her and then another after that. She looked down in wonder, feeling at least four little hands, pulling at her skirt. She tried to scoop all of her children up in her arms. She couldn't tell how many there were but she knew they all needed her. She just knew she loved all of them.

The scene changed suddenly, as it often did in dreams for no rhyme or reason and she was now at a gorgeous tropical beach on a sunny day, watching the waves crash to shore. Brittany was sitting on a pink beach towel and she had that same toddler in her lap, rubbing sunblock on his skin as he squirmed and pouted. She was in a pink and white polka dot bikini and a sunhat.

Then he was distracted by something, pointing at the water.

"Mommy, look! Dolphins!"

"Oh, you're right! They're so cute." She agreed, pulling him into a hug. He put his arms around her neck and wrapped his legs around her waist, squealing in delight whenever she showed him one of the shells she had found on the beach. There seemed to be tons of gorgeous shells all over this beach. It felt amazing when she pushed her feet down into the warm sand and wriggled her toes. Her son tried to imitate her with his own tiny feet, getting accustomed to the texture of the sand. It was adorable.

"Britt, come in! The water's so nice today."

She had wondered where Santana was in all of this but then she heard her voice in the distance and there she was, standing in the shallow part of the water that went up to the middle of her thighs. She was grinning widely and looked radiant in a black bikini. She had never seen Santana look sexier, all slim and toned. What shocked Brittany the most was that Santana was playing with at least two other little toddlers that looked like the one Brittany had in her lap. Brittany instantly felt a surge of attachment to them, despite not knowing who they were.

Brittany stood up with the boy still wrapped around her like a koala and followed the sound of Santana's voice. It seemed like they were the only ones on this deserted beach. At least, the only humans because there were a lot of happy looking cats running around on this beach. She swore she saw Lord Tubbington dash by with a fish in his mouth. She never knew he could run so fast.

Her son, whose name she didn't know, whimpered a little, clinging to her more tightly when Brittany got into the water and she whispered soothing things to him. Santana was right when she said the water was great. It was perfectly calm and still, not a wave in sight, warm and so clear she could see right through to the sand on the bottom almost.

Santana came up to her with their other children clinging to her, leaning in and kissing her passionately as Brittany adjusted her son in her arms.

"I love being your wife." Brittany heard herself sigh happily.

Wife?

Was this a vision of her future life? Before she could figure out more, her dream began to fade out quickly. She tried to cling to it, feeling like she would be ecstatic if she could stay locked away in the bliss of that dream forever but she had already woken herself up.

Brittany sat up, startled and not sure what to think as her thoughts blurred together and her dream still felt so real. She cupped a hand over her bump and lifted her shirt, staring down at it curiously.

Then she kept hearing herself say she was Santana's wife in her dream so vividly. It gave her such a thrill just to think about it. It felt almost too good to be real.

Ever since she knew her when they were children, part of her had hoped and dreamed of being married to Santana one day. Since Santana had been so scared of how other people might react to their relationship, she never knew if it would really happen.

Still, her dream had felt so real. She so desperately wanted to think that might be her future. The Santana in her dream kissed her in public, so happy, confident and carefree to be seen with her and their children as a family.

Brittany would love to spend everyday of her life like that with Santana and she hadn't realized just how much she wanted it until now.

"What's wrong? Had a nightmare?" Santana's groggy voice could be heard behind her as she mumbled into the blonde's shoulder, squirming against her and keeping her eyes closed. She sounded exhausted.

"No the opposite. A really amazing dream," Brittany glanced back over her shoulder and caught Santana smirking at her, eyes glinting with lust when she heard her say this and Brittany shook her head with a fond eye roll. "No, actually not that kind of dream this time. Just a silly, funny, weird dream about our baby."

"Oh okay. That's nice, Britt."

Brittany knew that if her lover was in a more alert state she'd probably have questioned her more but Santana just yawned and seemed content with that answer. Santana held her tightly, shifting around to pull Brittany into her arms and stroking her back soothingly. Eventually, they both began to drift off to sleep together again but Brittany's thoughts kept going back to her dream.

She didn't want to tell Santana what her dream was really about just yet, even though it felt like it was trying to tell her something important. The Latina already was so overwhelmed and nervous about their one baby. Maybe she'd give her time and let her get accustomed to the idea more before telling her about her dreams of them having multiples.

Besides, Brittany always had the silliest, most random dreams. Usually they involved her being a mermaid and Lord Tubbington somehow scuba diving or Santana leading the battle against a robot invasion. Artie was usually the robot in command of the battalion and Commander Santana's arch nemesis. It was pretty hot when they fought over Brittany too.

Maybe she shouldn't take her dreams of multiples too seriously, she thought. It could be her subconscious playing funny tricks on her.
