Steve came downstairs and stopped as he saw Laura and Carl having a moment. Hopefully this tome he'd hope Carl would not laugh in his face once he told him tha Laura accepted his proposal. But a huge smile formed across his face when he heard Carl, "I can not believe Steve Urkel is going to be my son-in-law..."
Steve took the last step and strolled over to his lady and his favorite guy, Big Guy. "Better believe Big Guy!" He said patting Carl a little too rough on the back. Laura smiled up at Steve as Carl nodded his head. "I know I asked you for her her hand in marriage..." Steve began to say put quickly stopped as Laura put up her hand.
Laura raised her eyebrow, darting her eyes at Carl. "Daddy, Steve asked you for my hand in marriage?"
Carl closed his eyes and nodded, "Yeah he did..."
"Don't worry Sweetheart, he said yes." Steve was seeing he just probably got Big Guy in trouble with his daughter which he thought he would have told Laura. He bent down and gave Laura a kiss on top of her head and moved over next to her on the arm rest.
Laura cocked her head at her dad completely ignoring Steve's affection. "Daddy why didn't you tell me this when I was looking for advice on who to choose. Steve was completely respectful towards you. Did Stefan ask you for my hand in marriage?"
Carl sighed knowing he should have mentioned it, but he really just thought Laura could never pick Steve. He just thought dating Steve was just a faze. "Laura I know I should have said something to you about it and I am sorry. And no Stefan did not come to me about your hand in marriage. I should have taken that into consideration." He then looked at Steve with an apologetic look. "And Steve I am sorry I laughed in your face about you proposing to Laura. If I really knew how Laura felt about you I would have taken more to heart. You're a good guy Steve and I know you'll treat my baby girl right."
Steve waived him off with a big smile as Laura watched the interaction between her dad and her now fiancé. "No big deal Big Guy! Im just happy now you have accepted Laura wants to marry me. And Carl I will always treat Laura like the queen she is. Everyday for the rest of our lives together. Plus now I am officially part of the Winslow family."
Carl sighed bit with a smile this time as he stood up. "Yep you are going to one interesting son-in-law. But as long as my daughter is happy, I am happy for both of you. How about to tonight at dinner you two announce your engagement. That way I have time to make some more ground rules." He then gave Laura and Steve a wink and walked into the kitchen.
Steve looked over at his fiancé with a big smile. "That went better than I expected. I am just so happy Laura Lee."
Laura stood up and moved in front of Steve making him stand up to. "Me too Steve, me too. But I am so sorry Dad didn't take you seriously when you asked my hand in marriage." She wrapped an arms around his neck as Steve held her at her waist.
"Sweetums, its not a big deal anymore. I am just Carl has accepted our engagement. Means the world to me..." Steve was just feeling over the moon as Laura Lee was his, and he was hers.
Laura pressed her lips together with a raised eyebrow from trying not to giggle of her thought, "You know he's probably in there crying because Steve Urkel is going to be is son-in-law. He's probably in denial of his future with you. But you know he really does love you."
"Oh I know my lovely. I know he really does. I really haven't made his life easy. But I am trying my best to be a better version of myself. I know I may not be smooth but sure have gotten smoother. Just look, I finally got my girl of my dreams who soon will be my wife and way into the future if she is up to it, the mother of our babies." Steve gave his wide open grin as his eyes were flirting with her.
Laura chuckled on Steve's antics and pressed her body closer to him. "Way, way into the future, but yes definitely I want a baby or two with you eventually. But lets get married first and finish getting our degrees first."
"Mmm!" Steve could not hold back enjoying Laura's body being that close. "Sounds like one heck of a deal my love. Mrs Urkel first, then Laura Urkel attorney at law, and finally Laura Urkel best mama in the world."
Laura placed a finger under his chin, as she got chills just thinking of her future with Steve. She was lucky that Steve knew her schooling and career was always important to her. And now seeing children with this man someday even got her more excited because of course she wanted to be a mom, but never imagined who her partner would be. And Steve Urkel would be an amazing dad and a fun one at that. "Come here." She stated as she brought her lips to his and pressed them hard against his as they both enjoyed their heated kiss.
Laura pressed her body into Steve's as she loving tasting his lips. Steve separated them from their lingering kiss and just stared into Laura's eyes with love. "Laura Lee if we keep these makeout session making our bodies hot and bothered, we will never make it to our wedding night." He paused as he was afraid to bring up the Urkel tradition of waiting three month after marriage because he known Laura for a long time and well he knows there has been a few incidents that she had came close loosing her innocences. So she probably has been waiting and looking forward to her wedding night. He wasn't even sure if he could hold back on the three month tradition. He was marrying Laura Winslow, the most prettiest and most beautiful woman he'd even known. "And trust me I want us to stay pure until then. I really want it to be extremely special and knowing the wait was all worth it. I want you to be extremely satisfied when that night comes."
"Steve Urkel, then I guess we better start planning our wedding as soon as possible." Laura gave him a teasing smile as she ran her hands down his chest and laid them there. At this time, Steve reached into his pocket and pulled out the ring box. Laura felt her heart pound even faster. Then watched Steve get on one knee.
"Laura Lee I know this is my third time asking but I don't care. I love hearing you say yes and just thinking about our future is making me more thrilled and a little nervous too. But my love will you marry me?" He was smiling ear to ear this time because he already knew the answer.
"Yes Steve I will marry you!" Laura smiled with a giggle. He just looked so happy to be doing this okay.
Steve took the ring out of the box and began to slide it onto Laura's left ring finger. But quickly stopped by her knuckle. "Uh oh!" Steve panicked.
Laura saw the ring, well was too small now. "Hey don't worry Babes. I mean you did buy the ring seven years ago when my finger was a size six and half. We can go get it resized into a eight." Laura wanted make sure Steve did not have a thing to worry about.
He took the ring off her finger and put it back in the box. He stood up looking sad, "I know you're right but still I was so excited to put that ring on your finger. Because it's your ring."
Laura reached over and gave him a hug. "It's really okay Steve. And once the ring is resized I will wear it everywhere to show that I am marrying a man I completely love... So how about we go to were you bought it and take a few hours to ourselves, maybe go to the mall and fet some ideas for our wedding." She just wanted Steve to be hopeful. But now she also had to bring up Stefan.
"That sounds like a great idea Laura Lee, you are so great coming up with the best ideas." Steve loved that about her. When he was upset, most of the time it was her that always made him feel better.
"See, oh and Steve. I kinda need to stop by Stefan's place." Laura felt Steve let go of their hug as he slowly slouched in the chair.
"Oh yeah forgot about Stefan..." He felt almost guilty and bad. He knew Laura had to talk to him eventually and hated he got that his gut was telling him Laura was going to change her mind.
"Hey," Laura began and sat in his lap with her arm around his neck. "Look at me." As he did with a gloomy look she smiled at him to resure him. "Steven Q. Urkel, I have to tell him. It's the right thing to do. I'm all in with you. If he tries to change my mind it's not goin to be a pretty picture for him. But I'm hoping he won't go that low. I promise you I will be back in the car in no time and we can enjoy our little mall date." She gave him a wink and stood up. She held out her hand as Steve took it. She helped him up and gave him a big liss on the lips which seemed to brighten his mood quite a bit.
