"Has there been any sight of her?" A red haired man questions, a frown on his lips.

A white haired woman in a maid uniform replies to her king. "No. We detected teleportation in her room, but even Ajuka could not figure out where it went or how to trace it."

"Even Ajuka?!" Sirzechs is deeply surprised.

Rias... couldn't have done that. Creating a pair of glasses with an interesting- but overall simple- enchantment is one thing, but she's too simple-minded to outmatch Ajuka.

I mean, really. Just compare the glasses they made. She struggled to make one that worked at two-times speed and he made something hundreds of times better than her original creation.

"I had thought she ran away." The man frowns. "But it appears I was incorrect. Someone or something seems to have stepped in."

He clasps his hands together, giving his desk a glare as he thinks deeply.

"The question is... why? Why bother?"

"Perhaps someone believed that she held as much potential as you did, being your little sister?" The woman theorizes.

"No. That girl was a lazy whiny brat... until recently, that is." The man's lips turn downwards.

"Hm. Someone might have thought that slight change to Rias was just the start. She created an interesting enchantment all by herself. I changed my mind... It's possible. But the better question is... who could have done this?"

"Not the fallen or angels, surely. Azazel is a simpleton who Ajuka surpasses several-fold. He'd never be able to stump Ajuka for long if at all. The Angels are similar, but there was no holy signatures anywhere nearby so it is less likely to be them."

"What about a god?" Grayfia questions.

"I can rival most. If they believed that Rias could reach even a tenth of my power it's possible that they could have done that. But they produce more... aura... than the angels." Sirzechs narrows his eyes. "Excluding... a few that know how to hide or disguise it."

"Grayfia. Can you ask Serafall to see if she can get a meeting between us and the Norse? I believe that I have a few questions I need to ask the God of Tricks."

"Right away, Lord Lucifer." She bows before leaving the room.

A red haired girl appears with a flash. "Hey! I'm here!"

"Rias!" A short pink haired girl smiles brightly. "Can you hand me that flour from the top shelf?"

"You called me to get something off the top shelf?" Rias questions with an amused glint in her eye, causing the short girl to glare.

"Kidding, Kidding." Rias waves off.

Two bat-like wings extend from the redhead's back as she rises a couple of inches off the floor so she can reach, she grabs the sack of flour and places it down on the countertop.

"Thank you." Natsuki whispers as she returns to what she was doing, beating eggs in a bowl with a whisk.

"So. How's school treating you?" The redhead asks.

"its'... getting more and more unsettling." Natsuki sighs. "I-I don't understand what's happening. It's- it's like everyone is becoming an emotional husk of their former selves I-I-Its scaring me! The only ones that seem slightly unaffected are Sayori, Monika and Yuri... and even then, Sayori and Yuri seem to be leaning into their bad habits and- and I just don't know what to do!"

"I... see." Rias frowns.

"A-And Monika is treating me like I'm stupid! I don't even know if any of us are still friends!" A shuddering gasp leaves her lips, as she looks down at the floor. She slowly peeks up, gazing at the red-head, her eyes pleading for some topic to distract her. "What... about you? Is Andy okay?"

"He's been hard at work. He's adorable when he gets so focused on his magic!" Rias state

"W-What's he working on?" The girl questions.

"Well, a few things. He more or less finished practicing his dragon-soul takeover for now- at least until he gets a new dragon- and he's been working on crafting Ofuda for a mission of his." Rias cocks her head to the side. "Oh, he's beginning to make some clothes with his silk-maker magic! I'm hoping that after this mission I can force him to make me some cute new clothes!"

"That's... cool... um... I've kind of wondered for a while, but... what does he look like exactly?"

Rias pulls out her phone. "Like this."

She shows a picture of a tired looking black haired boy, dark circles under his eyes as he gazes into the camera with a half-lidded 'are you serious right now' stare.

The corners of Natsuki's mouth turn upwards.

Rias swipes causing a new image to appear, showing him creating what looks to be a man made of fabric, a sword in hand.

Rias swipes again. Red flashes over the pink haired girl's face.

Andrew is stood there, shirtless, two large blue wings extending from his back as he looks down to his hand, blue scales have appeared around his skin, dotting his body, becoming much more common at the hands, his nails extending into sharp points.

"Wh- hah- why- D-Don't show me this!"

"Want his nudes?" Rias smiles.

"..."

"..."

"nnnnno." Natsuki states and a deep part of her HATES that she was tempted. "How do you even have those? Does he know you have them? Does he know you're freely giving them out to random people he's never met in person?!"

"I sneakily took a picture of him while he was showering, no, and nope! But... he does really care about you soooo I doubt he'd mind. It's not like I'm giving them to some creep."

"You're a creep." Natsuki deadpans as she goes back to cooking.

Rias is quiet for a long moment, watching the girl continue to bake. But eventually, she decides to extend her offer. "I've been meaning to ask this for a while, but... would you like to get away from all this?"

"What do you mean?" The pink haired girl turns, a small frown on her face.

"I'm saying... leave this world behind. Have you ever considered joining us in Isekai land?"

"I... don't know." The girl whispers. "I'd probably just be a burden."

"Nonsense!" Rias scoffs. "You'd never be a burden! I don't care what your fucking dick of a father says. You are important and I'd imagine it'd make Andrew very happy if you were there with us!"

"W-Well... how would it work? Would I get magic? Could I even become a mage? Being born in this shitty nonmagical world?"

"You could... after all, I, Valerie, and Koneko weren't born in that world and yet we can make use of that world's magic- provided we take the time to learn it. I'd imagine that Andy would be ecstatic to teach you magic! Personally, I'm already learning archive... which is basically internet magic!"

"How would that even work? How would you take me there? You need to be summoned with that contract, right?"

"Precisely." Rias nods slowly. "Really... I can't take you with ME... but what I can do is turn you into a devil so you can be summoned there."

"W-What?" Natsuki whispers. "Turn me- into a devil?! How?! Why?!"

"Well... let me tell you the history of our people. Hundreds of years ago, there was a three way war. The Great War. The angels, the fallen angels, and the devils fought for a long five hundred years. By the end, our leader, Lucifer, and the other three satans had perished in battle." Rias begins. "Later, the satan's descendants decided to re-ignite the great war despite the losses we had faced. Many disagreed with this which led to one hundred years of civil war."

"By this point, millions of devils had died. Leaving far too few of us left. That's when one of the generals on the side that didn't want to restart the great war created something. Evil Pieces. Using a material known as Agaresite, Ajuka Astaroth, or Ajuka Beelzebub as he was soon called as he rose to one of the new leadership positions created a set of fifteen chess pieces that can be bound to a high class devil, a 'king', to revive other races and transform them into devils as their servants."

The short girl slowly blinks a frown slowly appearing on her lips. "Servants?"

"Yes. If I still lived in that world, you would be a lower-class devil, a servant to me. However. Thanks to leaving I have abandoned such thinking... not that I ever thought that way to begin with. My peerage is my family. I will not treat them as lesser because some arrogant douchebags decided to do so."

"Why... should I become a devil? You haven't given me any reason to besides being able to... leave..."

"I can give you three right off the top of my head." Rias raises a finger. "First. Age. We naturally have a ten thousand year lifespan. Just think of all that time. How many hobbies could you pick up? Want to watch anime for an entire year and do literally nothing? Sure. It's not 'wasting your life' like some people would say. That's literally one ONE HUNDRETH of your life! A percent of a percent! Think of how many skills you could master. How much manga you could read!"

"That- ah..." Natsuki whispers. "That is... kind of cool, I guess."

"You don't seem to get just how much time you would have... as of this exact moment... humanity settled down and started forming towns roughly nine thousand years ago... a devil could LITERALLY pre-date human civilization. A devil could also casually oversee the creation of the pyramids yet ALSO build modern day skyscrapers."

The pink haired girl gapes slightly.

Rias raises a second finger. "Reason two. Magic. Flight. The ability to speak all languages. The ability to gain more power through doing jobs for people, and better senses in general. Super hearing, night vision. Oh, and super strength, super speed and incredible durability."

"Okay."

A third finger is raised. "No periods."

"WHAT?!"

"We devils have a sort of... passive... regeneration. Like, not to the point where our arms and legs grow back or anything like that, but a broken bone might heal a few dozen times faster. It's enough to outpace the bleeding of... that..." Rias smiles only to pause and cock her head to the side. "Although, perhaps that's why our fertility is so low... physically stronger egg cells. Is that why it's a struggle for stronger devils to have children? Huh."

"A fourth reason is that thanks to Andy you can travel the multiverse... oh! And he's my bishop! I forgot to mention that each piece gives the user a benefit. A knight is fast, a rook is strong and durable, a bishop is a master of magic, and the queen is all three... then of course the pawns exist. They don't get a real 'boost' but what they do have is the ability to 'promote' into any other piece when I deem a location 'enemy territory'.

"Why... wouldn't they always promote into a queen?" The girl asks slowly.

"Body strain, mostly." Rias shrugs. "A pawn's body and magic gets a little stressed when they fight at the capacity of a queen. It'll take a lot longer for a pawn to exhaust themselves as a bishop, knight, or rook... though through training this sort of becomes a non-issue."

"I see... and what would I be?"

"A pawn." Rias admits. "You have to use more pieces depending on the innate potential of the person in question. Like... oh! You know Naruto?"

"I... guess?" Natsuku mutters, a frown on her lips.

"Take your normal every day ninja. That's one pawn. Then what if they had the Sharingan. Or rather, merely the bloodline of the sharingan without them being active. Two pawns. Someone who has all three Tomoe? Three pawns. You at the moment can't use magic and are a strictly normal human. One pawn. However, you could very easily learn to be powerful through Andy's shenanigans. Something that the pieces don't take into account!"

"I... don't like the idea of being called a 'Pawn'." Natsuki continues. "And- And I'd only be worth one?! R-Really?"

"Sorry. But it's true. I can't sense any magic here in this world so you aren't the descendant of a legendary figure or anything. Nor do you have any magical affinities at the moment due to this world utterly lacking magic. But! With Andy's world's brand of magic you could learn practically whatever you want!" Rias continues. "But, you should really stop looking down on a pawn piece. Evil pieces are sort of based on their bound devil, soooo a super strong devil would need less pieces to revive someone than a weaker devil. And, well, back in my world we had something called 'Sacred Gears'. Powerful soul-bound artifacts that are given to humans upon birth by... his... heavenly system. Among them are thirteen Longinus, named after the spear that pierced his son's side. God killing weapons."

"They are worth about seven or eight pawns." Rias finishes with a single nod. "My queen, Valerie, has one. It's pretty neat. It kind of affects her mind so she doesn't really use it often, though."

"I'll think about it." The pinkette frowns, gazing back to the bowl of egg. "But first... I need to bake!"

A man rushes through a dark forest, a frown on his lips. His eyes dart back and forth. Silently waiting. Watching. Listening.

He can see a large figure disappearing into the distance.

Lightning strikes it... and then with a burst of yellow...

It vanishes.

He speeds up coming to a burning clearing. Golden flames coil around trees, shattered cages, and dead men.

He quickly rushes over to one of the screaming and flailing men, golden fire clinging to his body.

He pats out the fire with his cloak, the man letting out shuddering gasps.

"What happened?!" Grimmel demands.

"Nightfury." The man on the ground hisses, his legs and one of his arms burnt. It looks horrible. Clearly it's going to have to be amputated... if this man even survives that long to begin with. "It- came out of nowhere... it freed the young ones in a single shot."

"Haah." He wheezes, eyes clenched shut. "it- we- we hit it with a dragon-proof net, but it broke out in seconds."

"It managed to break out of the dragon-proof metal?!" Grimmel's eyebrows raise. "What did it look like? Did it have any noticeable features? Like a scar or discolored scales?!"

"Its eyes glowed like gold... it- hrk- was black as night. With streaks of gold across its body like lightning." The man's breath becomes heavy. "It was like facing god's wrath."

A black and gold Nightfury with golden eyes... and golden fire.

Grimmel's eyes stray across the surroundings. 'Should be noticable.'

A long sigh leaves his lips gazing at the charred bodies of his trappers. "So many good men..."

He is resolute, rising to his feet as he peers around. The man at his feet heaves, breath becoming lighter and lighter. "Bjorn... I'm sorry."

"It's part of the job... captain." The man winces only to fall limp.

Grimmel stares down at him for a long moment.

"The beast's days are numbered. You need not worry. I will ensure it has... a fate worse than death."

The air is filled with static as I glare down out of the clouds

My teeth grit, a large beast stomping through a town. Laser beams are shot from its maw, sweeping buildings, carving large molten lines in the landscape.

Snow pelts down from the clouds as my eyes narrow.

I was too late.

Had I just left the house and hour sooner.

If I left the night before...

All these people...

They would still be alive.

Rage fills my body as I tightly grip the spear. My magic seems to swell and shake, eager to smite the target of my ire.

Strips of paper float all around me, fluttering through the air, small sparks streaking from them, seeding the clouds with small bits of electricity.

I'm doing everything I can to hold back the lightning... to prevent it from striking where I don't want it to.

This is enough.

This ends now.

I ready my spear, pointing it downwards.

There's a flash of light as suddenly I roughly land on the back of titanic beast. My knees bend, clothes beginning to glow, my weapon is stabbed into its back up to the shaft.

I tear it free as slips of paper appear around me, a surprised roar leaves the mouth of the raging beast as black blood splatters across my body.

A water bottle filled with green liquid appears in my hands as I point it down at the gaping wound and squeeze, sending it squirting into the wound. The papers around me touch the black leathery skin and glow.

I punch forwards, Deliora's flesh rippling slightly as all the force from my flashy entrance is included with my strike, magic flowing down my knuckles.

Half of the force- the bit I was about to suffer is quickly recaptured as I leap, dozens more seals flying downwards towards it.

The remaining built up kinetic energy in my clothes bleeds out as I use it to propel another stack of seals downwards. They scatter outwards, rapidly falling down and connecting with the ground.

I am struck by another bolt of lightning. Deliora turns, blinding swinging a fist, trying to backhand whatever just hit it, but I am long gone before it even makes it half way.

Surprisingly fast, though. For its size, at least.

Its swipe cleaves through a nearby building sending bricks and shingles raining everywhere.

I gaze down out of the storm, depositing more seals in the air that creates a little more static to charge up another bolt or two.

There's a near ring of seals on its back surrounding the wound I inflicted.

Those will slow its healing... if it has some form of regeneration to begin with, that is.

My attack isn't what I would call a 'devastating injury'.

I basically just stabbed him with a razor blade.

Or, more aptly, like the sting from a scorpion as I just poured far more speed stinger venom into it than most speed stingers can even produce.

I went on a mission a while back to test some things. A shot glass of venom was enough to paralyze a vulcan nearly instantly.

I just poured about three hundred times that into its wound... and I plan to do more. Far more. Just in case as an Etherious it's resistant to poison.

Hell, dungeons and dragons demons are completely immune. I hope that isn't the case here.

Deliora roars, mouth opening wide.

A lime green laser shoots from its maw, sweeping across the city.

A wall of fire quickly follows the path of the beam, shooting hundreds- if not thousands of feet into the air.

It splits a nearby mountain face. Sheer heat reaches me even this high up.

'holy fuck.'

I twirl my spear briefly, a nervous smile flickering on my lips.

I need to take care of its mobility... so... my next attack will be less poisoning, more a test of its durability.

Aiming is a little difficult when I'm traveling at Mach fifty-two or so.

I watch as the dozens of seals I had scattered all light up, dozens of spectral chains abruptly coiling together and shooting towards the beast's leg.

It is slightly pulled out from under it as it staggers, letting out a growl.

It swings its arm downwards to sever the chains, but I'm already moving.

My spear stabs into the calf of large demonic beast. I tear out my spear, then stuff an entire stack of seals into the wound like I'm putting a roll of hundreds of dollar bills into a gory pinata.

I blast upwards as its hand swipes through the chains, another roar leaving its mouth.

My shocking exit had an added benefit in addition to getting me the hell out of there.

It lit the seals.

I watch as an absolutely colossal explosion covers the leg of deliora. Hunks of flesh are torn free, the bone is exposed. The titanic beast falls to a kneel.

I bleed off the excess force, eyes narrowing as I rotate my spear.

I shoot down again, stabbing into the shoulder.

More venom is sprayed into its wound, restrainment seals lazily ejected from my requip space and fluttering around in the open air.

I shoot upwards again, recharging the cloud. Lightning streaks towards me, coiling around my wings as the ambient electricity is rapidly absorbed.

My half-empty magical container begins to refill.

Sixty. Sixty five-

I barrel roll to the side, the streaking tendrils of tesla-like lightning apparently attracting the attention of Deliora even as it is wrapped in chains of light.

The heat is sweltering.

'SHIT!' I swat out the fire that briefly clings to my pantleg.

Ah...

My eyes quickly scan my body.

That doesn't bode well.

No more falling from the sky. He fucked up the runes.

My eyes return to the bipedal demon, grasping my spear in two hands.

"Alright, let's try this, then." I grumble under my breath.

I descend from the cloud cover, tightly gripping the spear.

I rase the spear, narrowing my eyes.

With a sudden flash of movement I turn to lightning and shoot about one hundred feet to the side, avoiding another beam.

I swoop down, teleporting down and under the wave of energy as it turns to follow me.

A cold haze surrounds the spearhead, lightning streaking down from the clouds above, crackling around my body.

I shoot towards the etherious, slipping under a swipe of its arm, my spear slashing along its bulky ape-like forearm.

A fairly deep cut is left in its flesh, ice springing up around the wound.

With another sudden burst of speed I plunge the spear into its side. Just under its armpit. Managing to slip in between the ribs.

I toss out dozens of seals that stick to its side, chains sprouting from each and wrapping around the end of my spear as I hop back, leaving it impaled in the flesh.

I raise my hand to the sky and dump almost all of my energy into my next attack.

The world is almost blinding for a moment, the thundercloud is emptied as I direct all of that stored electricity... right towards the lightning rod I just embedded.

Deliora staggers, the wave of lightning I am redirecting physically picking it up and hurling it off its feet.

It crashes through ruined buildings as I push my advantage, a large roll of cloth the size of a rug unfurling beside me.

I throw the cloth forwards, Japanese symbols and characters woven into its surface, the silk that makes of the symbols dyed in blood.

It lands on the chest of Deliora as I summon another.

And suddenly... the land is bright.

Massive chains, thicker than even my body appear, wrapping the beast and trapping its arms close to its body.

Several more rug-sized ofuda slap into its body causing more chains to appear.

Those were an absolute pain to make. Each one took several days to weave and roughly all of my current energy reserves to 'charge'.

Words leave my mouth as I disassociate, my body aches, it feels like stinging needles pepper my body as I continue to exorcise this beast.

The pain... is less than what it was originally.

I'm more dragon than devil right now, but I'm not... completely dragon.

The pain intensifies as I hear a seemingly distant- but very loud- roar of agony. The demon underfoot thrashes in its chains as I clasp my hands together, raise them above my head, another rug-ofuda appearing. Then throw it forwards.

Everything stops as my shoulders slump. I breathe heavily, hands shaking as I gasp for breath.

I walk forwards up the chest of the beast, approaching the head.

Its glowing red eyes have dimmed. The struggling has stopped. The large seal placed on its forehead.

With a wave of my hand, a stack of paper seals appear.

They slowly spread out, beginning to wrap around the thick trunk-like neck of the demon.

I'm forced to grab two more stacks before I even make it half way around.

I coil the seals around its neck nodding once as I step back and begin carefully placing the papers on its chest.

After around ten minutes I fly upwards, looking at my work, then fly down and continue.

A red-haired woman lands on the rubble of a nearby building. "Are you finished?"

"No." I call out as I continue working. "Get to a safe distance. This might kill you even if you aren't the target."

She ascends back into the sky, meeting with Koneko and Valerie.

After an hour the chains rattle. I glance down at my seals, a frown on my lips.

'shit. They're burning up. I don't have much time'.

Ten minutes later I take to the sky, nodding once at my work.

Emblazoned on the chest of the demon is the kanji for the word 'destroy'.

I snap my fingers and rapidly fly away.

The seals containing deliora burn as it growls, body shaking.

It looks like my poison finally had an effect on it as it sluggishly rolls over onto its stomach and begins to try and stand.

*FLASH*

It throws its head back, letting out an agonized shriek, white light exploding from its eyes and mouth as it spasms, the kanji searing into its flesh, the coil of seals around its neck burning away with holy light.

The sheer radiant energy that my seals are putting out hurts even now as I stand a good thousand feet away.

*BOOM*

With a sudden burst of energy, Deliora arms falls slack.

It hunches over slightly, the heat from the holy fire having burnt the kanji for 'destroy' into its very chest, the chasm-like burns easily being ten feet deep in some spots.

Its head falls from its shoulders, landing with a near deafening thud.

Deliora... has been slain.

Huzzah! now we're moving up in the world! that was definitely an S-Class quest!
