Yo
What's up lads, how y'all doing? Good? That is wonderful to hear.
I'm doing good too! Thank you for asking.
Now last chapter, we left off at a very intense end, naturally, all of us want to see what happens next.
And for that to happen, we must read this chapter.
So let's read this chapter you filthy swines!
…
Ignore the curses, I feel very aggressive today.
Start:
As the dust began to settle, figures scattered around the coliseum gradually picked themselves up from the dirt. Groans and murmurs filled the air as the spectators, gods and mortals alike, recovered from the shockwave that had momentarily overwhelmed them.
Freyr, brushing off the dirt from his attire, let out a heavy sigh. "Those two need to learn how to dial it down a bit," he commented, his tone mixed with exasperation and a hint of admiration.
Loki, ever the enthusiast for chaos and entertainment, replied with a smirk, "But where would the fun be in that? This battle's charm lies in its intensity and unpredictability."
As they conversed, dust still hung thick in the air, obscuring the arena below from view and casting a ghostly pall over the scene. The reactions of the other gods and goddesses varied widely; many were in shock, their expressions a mix of awe and concern as they took in the extent of the devastation.
High up in the VIP seats, Odin's gaze was pensive and sharp as he surveyed the structural integrity of the coliseum. His keen eyes noted the runes he had placed—ancient symbols meant to reinforce the arena's durability—had nearly failed under the immense force of the battle. Cracks webbed across the stone, and sections of the architecture showed signs of severe stress.
Turning his attention back to the center of the arena, still shrouded by dust, Odin's features shifted from concern to a burgeoning sense of amazement. "Did you know Naruto possessed such strength?" he asked Grayfia, his voice carrying a mix of curiosity and respect.
Grayfia, who had been staring wide-eyed at the clouded battleground, seemed jolted by Odin's question. The usual stoicism that marked her demeanor was absent, replaced by visible surprise. "No, I didn't," she admitted, her voice tinged with disbelief. "I knew he was powerful, but this... this is beyond anything I anticipated."
Around them, the crowd began to murmur and buzz, the initial shock giving way to excited chatter and fervent discussions about the display of power they had just witnessed.
The gods and goddesses, so often detached from the affairs of mortals, or mortal in this case, found themselves drawn into the spectacle, their divine composure unsettled by the sheer magnitude of the battle.
As the dust settled and the last echoes of their mighty clash faded, the center of the arena presented a scene of epic endurance.
Naruto and Thor stood barely upright, their bodies bearing the severe toll of their confrontation.
Electricity still spasmed along Naruto's frame, causing his muscles to twitch uncontrollably and painfully, while steam rose off him in ethereal wisps, painting him like a weakened spectral warrior in the aftermath of battle, large black-purple bruises also highlighted certain areas of his body, the marks Thor had left on him in this battle.
Thor, for his part, held even more bruises than Naruto if possible, he was a canvas of black and blue bruises, much like his opponent but much worse. And his left arm took the worst of the beating during the clash, disfigured and damaged heavily in a way where the thunder God would be forced to rest for at least a couple of days to allow it to heal.
Blood streamed down from cuts and gashes on both fighters, dripping onto the already stained arena floor.
Their physical condition, so to say, was definitely not at its peak currently.
Despite the clear pain and fatigue etched into their faces, as their gazes locked once more, both warriors' lips curled into defiant smirks. They began to stagger toward each other, undeterred by the injuries that would have felled lesser beings.
The crowd, having watched in rapt horror and admiration, gasped and murmured among themselves, their reactions a mixture of awe and heavy concern.
Before the warriors could meet again in the center, Odin's commanding voice resonated through the coliseum, booming with such authority that it momentarily stilled the air itself.
"This match is declared a draw!" Odin announced, his voice thunderous, eyes narrowed as they flicked between his son and the shinobi guest. "Both of you have shown a warrior's heart, but the wisdom to yield is also a virtue. Learn when to halt your fists, even in the heat of battle."
At Odin's decree, the coliseum erupted into an uproarious cheer, celebrating the incredible display of valor and resilience. Naruto, however, couldn't hide his disappointment, his face scrunching into a pout. "A draw... after all that?" he muttered under his breath, though the words were caught by the keen ears of Thor.
Thor's laughter, deep and contagious, rolled out across the arena as he approached Naruto.
With a brotherly joviality, he clapped the shinobi on the back, nearly knocking him forward with the friendly force. "Ah, Naruto! Only you would stand toe-to-toe with a god and still be chagrined at not claiming outright victory," Thor chuckled, his voice rich with amusement.
He then pulled Naruto into a hearty embrace, his massive beefy arm encircling the shinobi's neck. "Today was indeed a fine day," Thor declared loudly enough for those nearby to hear. "Not many can boast they've pushed Thor to his limits and lived to laugh about it!"
Naruto, caught in the robust hug, managed a chuckle, his initial disappointment fading under the genuine warmth of Thor's camaraderie. "I guess you're right," he conceded, patting Thor on the arm. "It's not every day you get to smash things with a god and walk away still breathing."
Thor released him from the hug, stepping back with a grin still playing on his lips. "And it's not every day a god finds an equal in a mortal. We are brothers in battle now, Naruto. Whatever comes next, I'm glad to have met you on this field today."
The crowd, witnessing this exchange, felt a surge of collective warmth.
Even the gods and goddesses present, initially stunned by the destructive potential of the duel, now smiled and nodded in approval, their earlier apprehensions eased by the evident mutual respect and burgeoning friendship between the two mighty warriors.
Odin, observing the camaraderie and sportsmanship displayed below, felt a surge of pride swell within him. Seated in his high perch, the All-father began to clap, the sound resonant and clear, echoing throughout the coliseum.
And that was the catalyst that caused everyone to follow, the crowds approval loud and clear.
Today was a good day!

Now in the infirmary, freed from the clutches of the particularly zealous nurse who had tended to his wounds with a less-than-gentle touch, Naruto let his eyes close, savoring a moment of peace as exhaustion washed over him.
The room was bathed in a soft, diffused light that cast gentle shadows across the simple furnishings. The beeping of medical monitors provided a rhythmic backdrop to his tired thoughts, reminding him of the battle's toll on his body.
A chuckle broke the quiet, pulling Naruto from the brink of sleep. Across the room, Thor, lying on another bed, was watching him with an amused grin. "You know, Naruto, this kind of exhaustion after a well-fought battle is its own kind of reward," he said, his voice echoing slightly in the otherwise silent infirmary.
Naruto managed a small laugh in response, which quickly turned into a wince as pain shot through his ribs. "I'd normally agree," he replied, his voice strained, "but that nurse... she's something else. Doesn't make the aftermath much fun."
Thor's laughter filled the room, a rich, booming sound that contrasted sharply with the clinical sterility of their surroundings. "Ah, Nurse Dagny," he sighed, still chuckling. "She means well, truly. But she can be a bit... intense. Thinks it's her duty to ensure we're not just healed, but chastised enough to consider the consequences next time."
Naruto hummed in agreement, shifting slightly to find a less painful position. "Guess she's just doing her job," he murmured, closing his eyes again briefly before reopening them as the room fell into a comfortable silence.
The quiet was short-lived. Thor, whose gaze had drifted to the ceiling, turned back to Naruto, his expression now curious. "So, Naruto, how did you get to be so strong? Not many can stand toe-to-toe with a god and walk away, and I don't mean any offense but you're a mortal with no sacred gear."
"Someone like you at this kind of level of power is unheard of." Thor added.
"Don't worry." The shinobi replied in a easygoing manner. "No offense taken on my part. Though to answer your question…"
Opening his eyes, Naruto looked back at Thor, his gaze introspective. "It was a necessity," he began slowly, each word tinged with memories. "I've got people I need to protect. Being strong is the only option when their safety is on the line."
Thor nodded solemnly, his usual exuberance dimmed by the gravity of Naruto's words. The understanding between them transcended their different worlds, rooted in the common ground of duty and protection.
Their reflective moment was interrupted as the door to the infirmary slid open quietly. Odin stepped inside, his presence filling the space with an air of regal concern. His eyes, warm yet piercing, shifted between his son and the young shinobi. "How are we feeling, gentlemen?" he asked, his voice carrying a mix of warmth and command.
Naruto offered a thumbs up, managing a weary but genuine smile. "Still kicking," he said with a light-hearted tone.
Thor, who had been momentarily subdued, regained his boisterous demeanor. "I'm ready to celebrate with some mead!" he declared loudly, his voice echoing against the walls.
Odin rolled his eyes at his son's indomitable spirit and walked over to Thor's bedside, smacking him on the belly with his stick. "Celebrate later, heal now," he chided.
Thor gasped at the unexpected jab, his hand covering the spot as he winced in pain. Across the room, Naruto, who had propped himself up to see the interaction, burst into laughter. The pain flared in his chest with each chuckle, but the humor of the moment was too good to pass up.
Thor shot an annoyed look at Naruto, who was still chuckling despite his injuries. "You seem to think that only I would suffer from the consequences of our battle," Thor grumbled, his voice tinged with mock indignation.
Naruto's laughter tapered off as he raised an amused eyebrow, glancing over at the bed-ridden god. "That's because there are no consequences for me," he retorted with a cheeky grin.
The room fell silent for a moment, a lull in their verbal sparring. Then, slowly, a large, victorious, and condescending smirk began to creep across Thor's visage. He leaned slightly forward, his voice dropping to a murmur, heavy with implication. "Grayfia."
The effect was instantaneous. Naruto's eyes widened, confusion and hints of panic flaring up as Thor's word hit its mark. "I—I don't know what you're talking about," Naruto stammered, his confident facade crumbling.
"It's common news," Thor continued, each word deliberate and laden with glee, "that on the day you both arrived, Grayfia was punishing you by pulling your cheek as you were exploring Asgard." He watched with satisfaction as Naruto's discomfort grew, his smirk widening into a full grin.
"Now, I can't claim to know how close the two of you are, but I suspect, from what I've heard and seen, that you care for one another. And imagine how she feels, knowing that you being in a hospital could have been prevented had you been more mindful."
Thor finished his teasing with an arrogant and pleased guffaw, taking delight in the visible horror dawning on Naruto's face. "Oh, to be a fly on the wall when she finds out about this little escapade!"
Naruto, now fully grasping the implications, let out a horrified scream, the realization hitting him like a tidal wave. "Oh no, she's going to kill me!" he exclaimed, picturing the stern, disappointed look that would surely be waiting for him once Grayfia learned of his current predicament.
Worse yet… the pinching!
Odin, who had been watching the exchange from the side, simply shook his head and smiled. The All-father's expression was one of amusement mixed with a fatherly tenderness. "Ah, to be young and still learning the ways of consequences," he mused aloud, his voice rich with the wisdom of ages.
Thor, still chuckling, patted Naruto on the shoulder. "Fear not, Naruto. It's all part of growing wiser. But perhaps," he added with a conspiratorial whisper, "a little forethought next time might save you more than just physical pain."
'If only you could follow your own advice.' Odin thought in exasperation but otherwise stayed silent and simply carried on listening in amusement.
Naruto groaned, sinking back against his pillow. "Next time, I'm just going to have to win without ending up here," he muttered, half-joking but also half-serious, already plotting how to avoid such outcomes in the future.
If they ever had another battle of course.
And truth was, Naruto did want another one in the nearby future. The battle he had partaken in today had opened his eyes to some of the weaknesses that he needed to cover, and Naruto was only going to improve from here.
It would be unacceptable in his eyes not to.
Thor's laughter filled the room again, resonating with the joy of camaraderie forged through battle and banter. "That's the spirit!" he exclaimed. "Always looking forward, always learning. You'll fit in just fine here in Asgard, Naruto."
Naruto grinned broadly, feeling the camaraderie between them. "Thanks, Thor., That's cool of you to say man."
Just as Thor was ready to reciprocate, Odin's deep, authoritative voice cut through their light-hearted exchange, instantly drawing the room's attention.
"While I do appreciate the deepening bonds of brotherhood and friendship," Odin began, his tone carrying the weight of kingship, "now is not the time for prolonged celebration or jovial recovery."
Thor's expression quickly turned into a pout, his features marked by a playful yet sincere annoyance.
He crossed his arms with a theatrical flourish, his stance exaggerated in mock protest. "Father, must you always intervene at such moments? We were just getting to the good part," he grumbled, his voice a mixture of jest and mild irritation.
Odin remained unphased, his eyes twinkling with a mix of amusement and sternness. "Necessity dictates my timing, Thor. Sif has explicitly requested your return at the earliest. She is less than thrilled about today's escapades," he explained, his voice stern yet not without a hint of empathy.
Thor's eyes widened, a mixture of surprise and concern momentarily flashing through his usually confident demeanor. "Well, that does sound like I'm in for a stern talking-to," he muttered under his breath, recognizing the inevitable reprimand waiting for him at home.
Without further ado, Odin gestured gracefully, a large rune matrix shimmering into existence beneath Thor's bed.
The intricate patterns glowed with an ethereal light, heralding the teleportation magic at work. "Farewell, son," Odin declared, just as the runes activated with a bright flash, whisking Thor away to face his fate with Sif.
Left alone in the sudden quiet, Naruto sat back, his expression one of amused bewilderment. He watched as the magical display faded, leaving a faint trace of Nordic runes in the air that slowly dissipated like mist.
Odin, noticing Naruto's puzzled look, elaborated with a paternal tone, "Sif, much like your Grayfia, has her ways of dealing with concern. She's entered what one might call 'concerned wife mode'. She intends to personally ensure Thor's recovery is swift and uninterrupted."
The wording of 'your Grayfia' caused a warm blush to spread across Naruto's cheeks, memories of her unique methods of 'healing' flooding his mind. Odin, catching the subtle change in Naruto's demeanor, let out a hearty laugh before his expression shifted to one of contemplative seriousness, almost too quickly.
Odin paused, his eyes narrowing slightly as if focusing on a distant thought. Naruto grew tense, recognizing the change in atmosphere.
…
…
Then, without any preamble, he posed his question, "Ass or tits?"
Naruto blinked, taken aback by the abrupt and unexpected query. The suspense, once heavy and ominous, shattered under the weight of such a trivial yet strangely serious debate.
Though as the shock began to subside, the shinobi deadpanned but ultimately conceded to the All-Father's request/questions. "Ass. Ass over tits any day."
Odin's face broke into a scowl, though it was clear it was performed in jest. "A respectable choice," he conceded, "but consider the numerous virtues of the latter. They hold a certain... aesthetic and symbolic significance."
"I suppose…" Naruto shrugged. "And I do like a nice pair of tits, but for me, ass has always been more attractive."
The All-father nodded. "Fair enough, can't fault a man for straying from the righteous and correct path when I was like that once."
It took a good moment for Naruto to comprehend that before he hummed, unsure but somewhat confident in his theory. "So you were into ass before?"
"That I was, my boy." Odin admitted with small amounts of shame much to the shinobi's inward annoyance. "But then later on, my eyes were exposed to the light, and I've come to witness the truth, tits are superior to ass. That's my belief."
Naruto shook his head in disagreement. "Ass is superior over tits, not the other way around."
…
…
Words failed to describe the disappointment that the Asgardian leader felt for the mortal's preference when it came to the frivolous matter of physical attractions, but Odin quickly set such trivialities aside, focusing instead on the true purpose of why he had come here.
Odin's gaze lost its playful edge as he settled into the chair beside Naruto's hospital bed, adopting the solemn demeanor befitting a god of his stature. "Putting our topic aside, I've come here because I believe you have questions for me. questions that you haven't had the chance to ask since you had first entered Asgard."
Naruto nodded solemnly in response, "Yes, Lord Odin. I have questions, and I hope you have the answers I seek
The Norse God leaned forward slightly, indicating his full attention was with the young shinobi. "Then speak, young Naruto. What drives a warrior from another realm to seek the halls of Asgard? What questions do you have for me?"
"Well… It's a bit complicated."
And from there, Naruto revealed the truth about his origin, detailing the events prior to when he had landed in this world to when a mysterious portal formed underneath him. any and every relevant detail that came to mind, Naruto told.
Odin soaked the explanation given, having only interrupted a question here or there.
Learning all of this… it was remarkable, and extremely interesting.
As someone who prided himself on being very knowledgeable about matters in general, what the Nordic God-king had learned was something he found vastly fascinating.
"And that's everything. As I mentioned, before here, I was with the leader of the vampire faction and she unfortunately did not have an answer to my problem. Truth is, I doubt anyone except a few individuals would be able to help me." Naruto grimaced at his own admission.
Odin stroked his beard thoughtfully, absorbing the wealth of information Naruto had just shared. The room was silent for a moment as he contemplated the complex tale of portals and unexpected journeys between worlds.
His gaze, deep and penetrating, seemed to traverse distant thoughts before settling back on the young shinobi with a palpable weight of consideration.
"Naruto, the journey you describe and the forces at play... it is a matter most unusual and complex," he began, his voice grave with the seriousness of the situation. "It may take considerable time before I can find a possible answer to help you return to your world. And if I am to be brutally honest, I am not certain that we will be successful."
Naruto had braced himself for this possibility, but hearing it confirmed was still disheartening. Despite this, he managed to keep his composure, nodding in understanding. "Thank you for your honesty, Lord Odin. I appreciate your willingness to try."
Understanding what's at the stake for the blonde, Odin's expression softened, and he placed a gentle, reassuring hand on Naruto's shoulder. It was a comforting gesture, filled with warmth and empathy,
"You have shown great courage and resolve, Naruto. It is only fitting that I do what I can to assist you," he said, his voice imbued with a sincerity that resonated deeply in the quiet of the infirmary.
Naruto managed a small, if somewhat uneasy, smile. "It goes without saying, but if you need my help in anything… well, you get the idea, I'm ready to help."
That prompted Odin to smile and nod softly before he turned to leave, slowly walking over to the entrance. He paused at the door, his silhouette framed by the dim light of the hallway.
He looked back over his shoulder at Naruto, his eyes narrowing slightly as if piecing together a puzzle. "This portal you described, and the circumstances surrounding your arrival... they suggest the involvement of an exceedingly powerful being or a powerful group. Given what you've told me, I will begin to investigate and theorize who might be responsible for this."
The room fell silent once more, the weight of Odin's words hanging heavily in the air like a dense fog. Naruto absorbed this new information, a flicker of hope igniting within him amid the swirl of uncertainties.
Odin's voice broke the silence again, firmer this time. "If we can find the one responsible for bringing you here, it stands to reason that the same entity might have the power to send you back."
Naruto looked up, his eyes reflecting a mixture of gratitude and renewed determination. "Thank you again, Lord Odin. Any help you can provide... it means a lot."
The All-Father nodded, a solemn yet encouraging smile gracing his features. "It is no trouble at all. We are, after all, allies in this mystery," he stated, his voice carrying a hint of resolve. Then he turned and stepped out of the room, his figure receding into the dimly lit hallway.
Left alone, Naruto leaned back against his pillow, releasing an audible sigh that seemed to echo the depth of his inner turmoil. The infirmary room, with its soft, ambient lighting and the quiet hum of Asgardian magic, felt unusually oppressive as he grappled with his thoughts.
The frustration of not finding a clear path back to the Elemental Nations paled in comparison to the emotional struggle warring within him.
Naruto's heart constricted at the thought of leaving—leaving behind not just any friends, but those who had become his family in ways he had never anticipated.
Rias and Akeno, the first two friends he had made in this strange new world, were more than just companions; they were among the gentlest souls he had ever encountered, and were always there for him with support and kindness. It went without saying but Naruto treasured the two of them deeply.
Then there was the remaining of the Gremory group in Kuoh, who had welcomed him with open arms and whom he had come to enjoy being around.
Of course there was Grayfia, who had grown quite important to him—a person for whom he had vowed to be the best friend possible. There was no forgetting the mother-daughter pair either, Akasha and Moka, who had embraced him as one of their own.
And more recently, his circle had expanded to include the likes of the Norse pantheon. Thor, with his boisterous charm, was like the annoying but lovable older brother he'd never had.
Loki, the trickster, resonated with him on a level few could, sharing a bond of understanding and mischief. And Hel, who was pretty nice and cool, added a calm presence in his chaotic life. Freyr, Baldur, Tyr—each had shown him facets of friendship and brotherhood that he cherished deeply during his few days of stay here.
The thought of never seeing any of them again brought a sharp pain to his chest, a physical manifestation of his emotional anguish. Naruto was painfully aware of his dilemma—torn between the duty to return to his original world and the happiness he'd found here.
Because if he were to look at things realistically, even if Naruto did manage to find a way back home, the probability of being able to come back here was absolutely minimal.
To choose to go back to the elemental nation was to in essence, abandon and leave behind all the friends he had made here in this world.
Naruto was finding out the hard way that you can't have the best of both worlds… or in this case, you can't have both worlds.
"Why should I even care about my duty to a home that has often scorned me?" He wondered aloud, the words bitter as they hung in the air. The Elemental Nations had not always been kind to him; his early years had been marked by isolation and misunderstanding due to the burden of the Kyuubi sealed within him.
As he lay there, contemplating, Naruto considered the stark reality of choice. In either case, he would be abandoning people—either those back home in his original world or the friends he had made here who had shown him nothing but kindness and appreciation. It was hard to fathom leaving behind such genuine connections.
More than just finding a way back home, Naruto realized that he had a decision to make—a decision that might mean a one-way ticket, with no return. This realization was daunting; it was a choice that carried the weight of two worlds on his shoulders.
Naruto sat up, pressing his palms to his eyes, trying to stifle the overwhelming feelings. The decision before him was monumental. Could he really choose one world over the other? Was there not a way to bridge them?
He highly doubted it, doubted the notion that he could choose both.
It effectively came down to a choice, the people of Konoha, the people of his home and the bonds he had forged there with all his efforts. Or the family and friends he found here in a world not his own.
But he needed to decide soon because the more he stayed at a crossroad, the more chaotic everything was becoming.
And though it was a bitter pill to swallow, Naruto knew he needed to grow up, it pained him when he couldn't uphold his principles but the fact of the matter was, he was going to disappoint people who had faith in him with either of the decisions he chose.
The choice of which world he would now call home.
That is what he needed to decide on. And soon.
Naruto sighed tiredly and closed his eyes.
End.
So, I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter, it was a bit tough at the end, but at the same time, realistically speaking, if we were displaced in a world, and we went through Naruto's circumstances, and we had his loyalty to Konoha, a lot of us would be very conflicted on the choice.
But we would be pondering the fickle nature of reality. Of whether we should learn to call this new world our home or not.
So yeah, I tried my best to show a glimpse of how he feels about all this.
Because as he concluded, it effectively comes down to a choice, and that's how life is.
Both in this fic, and in reality.
Anyway, enough sadness for now.
I do hope you all enjoyed this chapter despite the somewhat sad ending.
