The auditorium was filled with the hum of excitement, parents and families chatting as they waited for the ceremony to begin. Mulder and Scully sat near the front, their expressions a mix of pride and nostalgia. Time had softened their edges but not their bond; they still leaned into one another, sharing the occasional smile or whispered comment as they watched the sea of caps and gowns.

"Hard to believe we're here," Scully murmured, her voice tinged with emotion.

Mulder chuckled, though his own throat felt tight. "Tell me about it. Seems like yesterday, we were dealing with diaper changes and midnight feedings. Now, they're about to take on the world."

Beatrice, Sabrina, and Joanna sat together near the stage, their identical caps and gowns unable to mask their individual personalities. Beatrice was calm and composed, flipping through her valedictorian speech one last time. Sabrina was chatting animatedly with her friends, her laugh carrying across the room. Joanna, ever the curious scientist, had her gaze fixed on the lighting rig above the stage, likely calculating its structural integrity.

The principal took the stage, and the room quieted. Speeches were given, names were called, and diplomas were handed out. But when Beatrice stepped up to the podium, the room erupted into applause. Mulder's and Scully's cheers were the loudest of all.

"Good evening, parents, teachers, and my fellow graduates," Beatrice began, her voice clear and confident. She spoke about the importance of curiosity, determination, and kindness—values she'd learned not just in school but from her family. Mulder and Scully exchanged a glance, Scully's eyes shimmering with unshed tears.

"She's incredible," Scully whispered.

"Just like her mom," Mulder replied, squeezing her hand. "Who would have thought though that the girl who, at barely 10 months old, bit into a glass bauble would make valedictorian one day. That was really not her smartest move", he joked.

After Beatrice's speech, Sabrina was recognized for her leadership as captain of the debate team, and Joanna received a special award for her numerous science fair victories. Each time, Mulder and Scully couldn't contain their pride, applauding until their hands hurt.

When the ceremony ended, the girls found their parents outside in the courtyard. Beatrice held her diploma like it was a badge of honor, Sabrina was already recounting a funny moment from the ceremony, and Joanna was trying to explain her latest scientific hypothesis to anyone who would listen.

"You three were amazing," Scully said, pulling each of them into a hug.

"We're so proud of you," Mulder added, his voice thick with emotion.

"Thanks, Dad," Joanna said, smiling up at him.

"Yeah, thanks for not embarrassing us too much," Sabrina teased, though her grin was affectionate.

Mulder feigned offense. "Me? Embarrass you? Never!"

Beatrice shook her head, laughing. "Let's just say we're glad you left the 'World's Greatest Dad' shirt at home."

Scully chuckled, slipping her arm around Mulder's waist. "We're just lucky to have the three of you," she said, her voice full of warmth.

As the family posed for photos, the sun setting behind them, Mulder and Scully couldn't help but feel overwhelmed with gratitude. Their journey had been anything but conventional, but it had brought them here—to this moment, with these remarkable young women they were proud to call their daughters.
