When they pulled up into the garage at home, Derek put the car in park and turned off the engine before looking over to his bride, she blew out a deep breathand said, "is it normal for me to be tired, I mean I haven't done anything at all".
Derek said, "sweetness, you've been through a lot the past several weeks and your body has had some major traumas to endure so yes it's totally normal for you to be tired", she winked at him and said, "let's get inside I can't wait to see my baby", Derek said, "your baby?", she said, "yeah, Clooney, he's my baby too ya know?", Derek laughed and shook his head as he slid out of the car and walked around to the passenger side and opened her door.
He then held out his hand and she put her smaller hand in his and he helped her out of the car, he said, "are you okay, because I can carry you?", she said, "I'm fine handsome, I'm fine, don't tucker yourself out on my account", he said, "ohhhh that's it" and gently picked her up bridal style and carried her up the 3 stairs that led from the garage to the mud room.
When they got into the kitchen she said, "something smells amazing", Derek said, "momma must have brought over some dinner", Penelope said, "ohhhh I'm starving now that I've smells that amazing smell".
Derek laughed and said, "let me get you into the living room and then I'll see what we've got", she nodded her head and said, "sounds good my love, sounds good" as he carried her from the kitchen to the living room.
They stopped when they heard, "SURPRISEEEEEEEE, WELCOME HOMEEEEEEEE" and two dogs barking, she smiled and said, "awwwwww, you guys, this is amazing, thank you so so much" as Derek gently put her down on the couch that Fran already had fixed and ready for her.
Penelope said, "it's so good to be home", JJ said, "I bet it does" and then she said, 'waittttt, you were all out of town, when did you get back?", Dave said, "we got back a few hours ago and Connie let us know that you were getting released today soooooo", Penelope said, "so you threw me this welcome home party?", her brothers said, "welcome homeeeeeeeee" in unison.
Henry and Jack ran over to her and gently hugged her legs, she said, "hello gumdrops, auntie P has missed you soooooo much" as she gently rubbed the tired of their blonde heads and grinned happily.
Reid said, "we're all so glad that you're home Penelope", she sighed happily and said, "me too boy wonder, me too", Fran said, "alright honey I heard you say that you were starving soooooo what would you like, I have all of your favorites", Penelope said, "ohhhhh anything Fran, just bring me anything because it all smells sooooooo good", Dave said, "we set up tables in here as you can see so that we can all enjoy your welcome home meal together".
Penelope said, "I appreciate that", a few seconds later Fran carried her a plate filled with delicious food and Derek brought her drink to her and it wasn't long before the others joined them and they had their first dinner together in almost a month and it would be their first family dinner since she and Derek had gotten married.
Penelope heard Clooney and Mudgie whimpering so she patted the couch beside her and both dogs jumped up beside her and laid their heads gently down on her lap, she sighed happily and said, "it's good to be home" and then for the next couple of hours they ate, laughed and got caught up on everything that had been happening since her accident
