Myself, Mikasa, Armin, Jean and Connie all stared in complete shock seeing the state our Captain was in. Captain Levi stared at us with his one remaining piercing steel blue eye. The other one was bandaged up and so was his right hand. According to Hange, his right eye was completely gone and he lost two fingers on his right hand. All this to a close proximity Thunder Spear he had placed in Zeke's gut. He was lying flat on a put together makeshift wagon that kept him upright because of his injuries. He wasn't well enough to walk just yet.
We were talking to the Captain while the others had started helping getting the campfire going. Hange was busy getting the pot ready. Food was brought as well and stew to feed everyone was on the menu.
"Captain, what the hell were you thinking?" I interrogated him. A slight anger could be heard in my voice.
"I was thinking he wouldn't do it. The hairy ape was crazier than I thought. I made a judgment call and it was the wrong one. I'm paying for it now. It's not going to happen again. I'm killing him the next time I see him." Levi admitted.
My brow twitched as I gave an annoyed smile, "That's great and all, Captain, but you're incredibly lucky you're alive. In fact, the only reason why you're alive is because of your Ackerman genes. We're more resilient than normal people. If you had been anyone else, you'd be dead. Do me a favor and don't do something so stupid again. It's not like you." Levi's one eye narrowed on me as the other Levi Squad members began to back away.
"We're huh…gonna go help set up now." Connie said nervously. He, Jean and Armin back away before speed walking away.
"Let him have it." Mikasa told me bluntly before walking away. Anytime someone can get on Levi's nerves, Mikasa was all for it.
"Seriously, what were you thinking? Were you really just trying to throw your life away? You always give us the order to stay alive yet you don't follow it yourself? Explain that to me, Levi." I dropped the title and spoke his real name to know I was dead serious.
Levi closed his one eye, "Hm, going to first name huh? You really are pissed at me. Not that I can blame you. I'm sure I'd feel the same if the positions were reversed. Guess I'll give you a pass this one time." He opened his one eye back up to see my unamused expression.
"Get some rest. Your body needs all it can get to heal. Next time, take your own advice and stay alive. Got it?" I demanded.
"Yeah…got it." Levi answered. His voice held a softness to them. Bandages covered his mouth so I couldn't exactly make out his facial expression. I turned around and walked back to the campsite.
They had the fire going as the moon rose higher into the night sky. Reiner and I locked eyes as I walked over to him. I sat down between him and Gabi. Falco was just to the side of Gabi. I ever so slightly scooted closer to Reiner and leaned against him. He turned his head slightly to me before looking back at the fire. I could feel eyes on us from around the campfire.
The Levi Squad was no stranger to mine and Reiner's relationship. His comrades on the other hand were kept in the dark by him. I looked over to see Jean, Armin, Mikasa and Connie standing off to the side. They were staring at all of us where I was sitting. Eldians and Marleyans huddled around the same camp fire. You could cut this tension with a knife.
"So, is anyone going to help me out with these potatoes or are we just going to glare at each other?" Hange broke the silence.
"We've gone from trading blows to breaking bread inside of a day huh? Out of curiosity, what made you change your minds? If you let Eren Jaeger succeed, you'll earn far more than you ever hoped for. You Island Devils will have the world to yourselves. We were the ones trying to save it. We would have been able to keep Eren and Zeke from coming into contact. If you hadn't stepped in the last second and helped them." Magath had a point. Reiner would have grabbed Eren if it weren't for the Thunder Spears Jean and Connie threw at him. Still, we technically did get him.
"That's the thing. We did technically strike down Eren. Gabi shot off his head and I sliced his spine in half. How could we have known that just Zeke making contact with Eren's severed head would still activate the Founder? Eren should have been dead…but he wasn't. I swear…Titan Shifters are pains in the ass to kill." I commented. I could feel the eyes of the shifters turn to me. They said nothing, knowing I was right in a way. Magath remained quiet but I saw his gaze was on me.
"I'm only repeating what I've already told you, General. That nobody here wants to be an accessory to genocide. That's why we're all hanging around the woods eating stew instead of celebrating in town." Hange countered to Magath.
"I see you finally figured out who the good guys are huh?" My eyes narrowed on the General. It's all a matter of a person's perspective to determine who's good and who's bad.
"Are you kidding me? You seriously think that you're in the right?" Jean spoke up. He glared down at Magath.
"You're crazy," Magath met Jean's glare, "You people spent years trying to murder us all and we're the bad guys because we didn't just roll over and die? Screw that! We learned to fight like hell because the only other option was to let your Titans eat us all alive! We found a way to survive and now you're going to call us devils for it?!" Jean demanded.
Magath took a swig of his wine, "That's right. You're exactly what we always thought you were. We let you fester for too long in Paradise. The whole world's about to pay for the mistake. You've finally won your freedom and you can all see what you're doing with it. What'd I miss?" Magath said with sarcasm dripping from his tone.
Jean opened his mouth to yell but I beat him to it, "You Marleyans are just as much as devils as we are. That's what you missed." Magath turned his head back to me. Our eyes met in a cold stare.
"All of the nations that Marley conquered then forced their people in your military. How about recruiting children to become one of the nine? Your nation sent four kids with the task of wiping out an entire population. They might have been trained Warriors but they were still children. No child should ever have to go through what your people made them do. All in the name of being considered an "Honorary Marleyan" give me a break. That shit is just one big joke. Eldians would never be seen the same as Marleyans and that's just a fact." I voiced my thoughts with a coldness to my voice.
Magath hummed, "I wouldn't expect an Island Devil to fully understand what it means to be a Marleyan." Magath commented.
"Seriously?!" I stared hard at the ground as Jean and Magath began arguing again. I tuned them out. I had said my peace already.
I felt something gently brush against my arm. I looked down to see Reiner had uncrossed his arms and had the back of his hand against my arm. My gaze looked up to see the appreciative look on his face. He knew why I brought up his mission long ago to Magath. It really wasn't fair to any of them back then.
"Okay, that's enough." Hange's voice broke through my thoughts and the arguing between Jean and Magath halted.
"If we're going to be at each other's throats. Let's stick with things that we've lived through ourselves. Look Jean, our friend the General is having a hard time understanding why we're not acting like the devils we are. Giving up our paradise to save a world that wants us dead? What devil in their right mind would do a ridiculous thing like that? Have we gone mad? What he doesn't know is that we Scouts spent a few months living in that world. So we can never go back to being the ignorant Island Devils we were." Jean stared at Hange before turning back towards Magath. He placed his hands on his hips and huffed. Another silence befell us. The only sound of the spoon occasionally clanging against the side of the pot.
"Tell me," I looked over my shoulder at Annie, "Can you all honestly bring yourself to kill him?" Annie comes out swinging with the big questions.
"I've said my peace about that already." I spoke up and turned my attention back to the rest of the squad, "I'm more concerned if the rest of you can bring yourselves to do it." The others stared at me intensely.
"Remember what was told to me four years ago over and over again? Cast your personal feelings aside. You are first and foremost a soldier. Your duty as a Scout comes first." I stated harshly. The looks of Armin, Connie, Jean, and Mikasa became softer. I suddenly stood up and gave my squad a hardened stare.
"What you're all feeling right now is how I felt back then. Welcome to my personal hell that I lived with for over a year." I informed them. Annie stepped up next to me. Her blue eyes lingered on me until she looked back at the Levi Squad.
"Vivien's made up her mind. What about the rest of you? Are you all truly ready to kill Eren?" Annie questioned them.
"I don't think that's our only option. We can find another way." Mikasa argued. I crossed my arms and let out a sigh in disappointment. She's still in denial.
"Exactly what I expected you to say. So what? You're going to try and persuade him? He made a choice to slaughter every man, woman, and child on the planet. You think you can talk him back from that?" Annie questioned.
"I'm not assuming we can, but we're never going to know for sure until we try." Armin argued.
"Armin, you already tried talking to Eren and look where that got you. Instead of him talking back to you, he beat you until you couldn't stand back up without help. There is no reasoning with him anymore. He won't listen anyway." I reminded him. Connie and Jean looked at me then to Armin in shock. They didn't know.
"She makes a valid point. Say your plan fails. You make your case and he still refuses to stop the Rumbling. What's next? It's him or the world. Can you all see him as your enemy?" A brief pause fell. Armin, Mikasa, Connie nor Jean made a comment.
Annie bowed her head, "That's what I thought. We're the ones fighting to protect our homeland now and we're going to do what we need to do. But if we have to kill Eren to save Marley you're going to have to turn on us to try and save your friend. And you know it, don't you Mikasa? Tell me I'm wrong." Annie challenged her. Mikasa only bowed her head.
"You can't do it right? You care nothing more but him. Can you imagine turning against him?" Mikasa suddenly drew her blades. Annie held up her hand to show a ring with a spike on it. I unsheathed both parry blades and stood between the two.
"If you want me out of the way, then just come out and say it." Mikasa threatened.
"Leonhardt!" Magath called out Annie.
"Enough! Mikasa, stand down and put your blades away before I make you. Annie, don't even think about going Titan. I've brought you down twice before. Don't make it a third time." I ordered both of them. Annie's blue eyes narrowed on me before she set down her hand. She harmlessly placed the spike back into her ring. I hear the sound of swords sheathing back. My eyes glanced at Mikasa seeing her put her handles back into their holsters.
I took a deep breath and released it. That was too close. I sheathed my own parry blades and detached the handles. I placed the handles back into their holsters.
"I know exactly how you feel, Mikasa." Mikasa and I both turned to Annie, "I'm not fighting Eren because I think the world is worth saving. I'm doing it because my dad's in Marley and I don't want him to die. But I can't save him without your help. If you really can change Eren's mind that's fine with me. But until you get the chance, we shouldn't be fighting." Annie proclaimed. Mikasa held her head in defeat and turned away.
"Okay." She finally responded.
Hange began tapping the ladle against the side of the put, "Glad you worked that out. Look, our stew is good to go now. Dig in!" Hange stated.
"Even with the horses rested, we have a five hour ride to the port." Hange started. Majority of us had already finished our bowls of stew. Some were working on theirs.
I had taken my spot next to Reiner again. Both our bowls stacked on top of each other and set off to the side.
"From what Kiyomi told me. The Azumabito have a flying boat in the harbor. And they've planned to take off and observe the Rumbling from the air. We can use that to get close to the Founding Titan." Hange informed us of her plan.
"I knew it. The Azumabito were helping you behind the scenes." Magath stated.
"The problem is we have to find the Founder first. And we won't have enough fuel to fly around looking for it." Hange retorted.
"Right, which is why we captured this one. Now, where is Jaeger going first?" Magath questioned Yelena.
"I don't know and even if I did. What reason would I have to tell you?" Yelena questioned back calmly.
"He learned about the mainland from you. You gave him the knowledge to plan this attack. He's going to be basing his attacks on what you taught him. You should at least be able to make a guess." Magath stated. He had a point, Yelena did have a secret meeting with Eren in the past.
"Kiss my ass." I raised a brow hearing Yelena's clapback. Even has a hostage, she still acts as if she's in control.
"What makes you think our reverse course now won't help you Marleyan swine help save your god forsaken hell hole of a country?" Yelena questioned.
"How about it's your only chance if you want to see another sunrise." Annie threatened.
"That won't work. She doesn't want to live." Jean corrected Annie.
"I thought you started the volunteers cause you wanted to liberate your homeland from Marley?" I stared at Connie as he talked with his mouth full. His eyes caught me glaring at him and he quickly swallowed. He knows I hate that and he still does it. Sasha was worse but then again…that was Sasha.
"Are you going to let your country get flattened just to spite the Marleyan swine?" Connie mocked with his mouth empty now.
"It's a fair question." Onyankopon told Yelena.
"The answer is yes," I turned my head to Magath, "You wanna know why? Because she's a purebred Marleyan pig herself." My eyes widened as I looked at Yelena.
"What?" I whispered out. The rest of us Scouts also stared at Yelena in shock. She's been lying to us about her origins all this time?
"You really caught us off guard with the Liberio Raid, Yelena." Pieck spoke through her Titan form. She walked over to Yelena and leaned back down.
"But we got a bigger surprise when we looked into your past. You were born and raised in a typical Marleyan family. But you wrote yourself a new life story when you met Zeke. One where you were from an annexed territory. As you grew disillusioned with Marley the story got more elaborate. It evolved into a grand fantasy about saving the world with your prince. And in time you hoped that your fairy tale would find its way into the history books. Your commitment to the lies is honestly impressive." Pieck explained to us all. Yelena turned around and placed her hand on Pieck's face.
"Save the world. Those might be the sweetest, most alluring words a person can hear don't you think?" She began petting Pieck. She closed her eyes in response to the gentle touch.
"Who wouldn't want to imagine themselves as the savior of hundreds of millions of lives. To wash the bitterness of hatred out of their mouths with the honey taste of righteousness. From where I sit, that's exactly what all of you are doing right now. Seems to me, you need to have your memories jarred." Yelena stated. She ceased her pets on Pieck and focused back on all of us. My eyes narrowed on Yelena's form. Myself and Levi never really fully trust her. Something about seemed off from the start. Now we know why.
Yelena's eyes then focused on Reiner, "Reiner Braun," Oh I already didn't like her tone, "You're the one who breached Shiganshina's inner gate. Do you have any idea how many Eldians were devoured by Pure Titans because of that?" Yelena questioned him. I could see Reiner downcast his eyes.
I could see the guilt and regret in his eyes. I quietly slid my hand next to his. I intertwined two of our fingers and gave a light comforting squeeze. He didn't look at me but I felt him return the same to me.
"Annie Leonhardt," Now this bitch is pointing people out, "I've heard you've killed more Survey Corp members in your time. And that's before we get into all the innocents you trampled trying to fight your way out of Stohess. But let's not forget the brave liberators of Paradis." Now she's getting to us.
"There's Armin, the level headed one. Who seems far too kind to cause the sort of bloodbath he did at that harbor in Marley. How high do you think you can stack those corpses? Don't forget the civilians. There were plenty." Armin bowed his head but said nothing.
"Not to sell the rest of you short. Everyone gave a heroic performance in Liberio. Vivien most of all. The people of Paradis call you Humanity's Fiercest Soldier. A title well deserved if you ask me. Anyone who's ever had the pleasure of watching you fight would say the same. But even the fierce sometimes hesitate. You saved the Cart Titan back in Liberio from the Thunder Spears blast. You hoped nobody would notice and luckily for you they didn't…until now that is." I could feel the stares from my squadmates.
"Yet, that didn't stop you from ordering to blow up the gunners on the Cart's back." Yelena continued. I maintained eye contact with Yelena. She's up to something. Why else would she be bringing all this up? She's trying to get under our skins. Is she trying to cause discord?
"And of course, you all thought you got out clean. That is until Gabi gunned down Sasha. What a sweetheart that girl was. Even I couldn't help but feel sad for her. And to you, she was family. You went through training together and went through hell together. Losing her must be more painful than I could ever imagine.
Jean lout a satisfied breath, "The stews pretty good, Hange. Got enough for seconds?" I couldn't help but smile hearing that Jean was unaffected by Yelena's blabbering.
"Oh, we've got more than enough so don't be shy." Jean passed Hange his bowl. He grabbed the bottle of wine and leaned back.
"I wanna thank you for this, Yelena. You were baiting out our grudges so we could get it out of our systems and get our heads on straight. Right? You'd have someone to vent to yourself if you hadn't blown off all your friend's brains to keep your fantasy alive. Now you got a full filled with nothing but cunning remarks and a death wish." Jean took several drinks from the bottle of wine.
He let the bottle leave his lips, "So this is actually pretty selfless of you." A smirk played on Yelena's lips.
"Right, almost forgot. You mentioned another name. He was already dead by the time we met, but I remember you said you were good friends. What was it? Marco." My eyes widened hearing that name. I hadn't heard that name in years. Him and Jean were closer than the rest of us, but he was still our friend. I eyed Jean. His demeanor had changed now.
"As I recall, you said Annie had something to do with his death. Didn't you? Did you ever ask her for details? I bet she'll tell you." That was our suspicion back then but we never could confirm it. Armin had said Annie had Marco's ODM Gear back then. It was the only logical conclusion we had on Marco's death. None of us saw anything that day in Trost.
"I stole his ODM Gear and left him to where the Titans could get him. Marco got eaten because of me." Annie admitted.
"Annie was only following the orders I had given her." My eyes widened as I turned my head to Reiner. What? Reiner had ordered Annie to do that?
"Why then? Why order that?" I asked just above a whisper. Reiner glanced at me before downcasting his gaze to the ground.
"During the fight in Trost, Marco had overheard Bertholdt and I discussing something secret. If we had let him go, he would've exposed us. So we decided we had to silence him. Figured nobody would think twice about a Scout getting eaten by a Titan. I tackled him onto the roof and I pinned him down. I ordered Annie to strip him of his ODM Gear. Then, we just left him there. Marco was stranded on that rooftop and a Titan got him." Reiner shook slightly as he recounted the story. I stared at Reiner in disbelief. So Marco died all because he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. He overheard a conversation he shouldn't have and was killed for it.
"So did he…did he say anything? Before he was killed?" Jean asked quietly.
"He asked why I wasn't willing to talk to him." Reiner answered.
"I think that question still applies. We haven't been willing to talk. We all just started fighting. And assumed it had to be to the death." Jean argued.
"But we can still change that. A little while ago, we were all ready to kill each other. And now, here we are. Talking. It's something alright. To think we'd all be sitting around a campfire. Sharing a meal with people we once called enemies." Hange countered. Another silence fell over us until Reiner broke it again.
"I stood and watched the Titan devour Marco." I stared at the ground as memories of Bertholdt getting devoured in front of me echoed through my mind. I already know how horrible that is to watch.
"And then a switch flipped and I couldn't figure out why it was happening." His split personality he had developed took over at that moment, "I just snapped. Flew into a rage, hellbent on avenging Marco. I cut down the Titan myself." Reiner explained.
"We get it, Reiner. You're saying the guilt of carrying out your mission screwed with your head." Jean stated harshly.
"Do you forgive me? I'm truly worthless." I looked at Reiner with concern. His mind is still broken. It's come a long way but it's still got a ways to go.
"I said we get it!" Jean sneered back at Reiner.
"Jean, you need to calm down." I warned him. Jean's face twitched as he clenched his teeth. I know what that means. I've experienced it one too many times. His anger is starting to boil over.
"I'm sorry." Reiner muttered one last time. My eyes widened as Jean suddenly made a dash towards Reiner. He had his fist raised and ready to punch him.
Punch!
Gasps were heard from around the campfire. Jean's eyes widened as he stared at where his fist connected to. I stood in front of Reiner with my head turned to the side. I didn't bother blocking Jean's fist when it connected to my cheek. His punch hadn't hurt that badly. At least not compared to the hits I've taken in the past. Mikasa and Levi were really the only two that have landed hits on me. Those two hurt a lot worse.
I felt something wet drip down my nose. Jean stared at me in horror and recoiled back his fist.
"Viv…why- agh!" Jean bent over and gagged as I connected a punch to his gut.
"Jean, Viv knock it off!" Connie yelled. He and Armin ran over to Jean who fell over after my punch. Jean squinted one eye closed as he looked up at me.
I gave him a hard stare, "I told you to calm down. I get it, you're angry. I've been there, Jean, a lot. You wanted to beat Reiner to a bloody pulp right?" Jean's silence was loud and clear.
"Thought so. I've been there and believe me it doesn't help. Beating someone senseless isn't going to solve any of our problems. Did you at least get that punch out of your system? That's why I didn't bother blocking it when I easily could have." I lifted my hand up and wiped away the blood with my thumb.
"I get that you're pissed off about Marco. None of us knew what really happened to him for years. All we knew was that Marco was eaten by a Titan and Annie somehow had his ODM Gear. We loosely connected the dots but never had concrete proof. Until tonight. Now we know what really happened that day. Marco was at the wrong place at the wrong time. That's why he was killed. It sucks and yeah, it hurts to hear that. Marco never even had a chance to choose what Regiment he wanted to go into. He wanted to join the MPs and make a difference. We never got to see if he would have. You can be angry at Reiner all you want but at least he avenged Marco and killed the Titan. The same can't be said for us." Jean furrowed his brows as he sat up.
"What are you talking about?" He questioned. My eyes glanced over to Armin. Armin's blue eyes widened as he stared back at me.
"You're talking about Bertholdt…aren't you?" I nodded my head once.
"Am I really the only Scout here that remembers what really happened that day? We won the battle but at what cost? Erwin was bleeding out and Armin was barely holding on after being burnt to a crisp. Eren and Mikasa fought hard for Armin's sake to be given the Titan serum. While Hange and Floch advocated for Erwin. The rest of us didn't get a say. In the end it was the Captain's choice. He chose to save Armin." I paused as I closed my eyes and clenched my fists.
"We were ordered to go to a different spot so the Pure Titan wouldn't go for us. Captain gave the serum to Armin and left Bertholdt on the roof. He was unconscious at the time and I think we all hoped that he'd stay like that…but he didn't." I opened my eyes as I stared at the ground. My vision blurred and my eyes began to water.
"He woke up when the Titan grabbed him. He was so scared. Then he saw us close by. That split second of hope he had in his eyes. We once called Bertholdt our friend but at that moment…he was only the vessel of the Colossal to us. Nothing more. We traded one friend's life for another. Some friends we turned out to be. We could only stand and watch as Bertholdt screamed and pleaded for one of us to save him." My lips quivered as I shut my eyes again to blink the tears away.
"But none of us did." I whispered and open my eyes once more, "How could we? The Titan was Armin and this is what we planned to do with the serum. We knew Armin would come back if he devoured Bertholdt as a Titan. Bertholdt's screams haunt me to this day. I still have nightmares about that day. I could only watch as someone we called our friend get eaten. For god's sake his last words were crying out for Reiner and Annie to save him! Even though they would never hear him." I lifted my head to reveal my teary steele gray eyes to everyone. Reiner and Annie stared at me with wide eyes. Everyone else kept quiet feeling the tension in the air.
"I am so sick and tired of all this death and betrayal. They breached our walls, we raided their homeland, they killed our friends, and we killed theirs. You can argue all day about who started what, but it doesn't matter. This cycle of death and revenge will never end if someone doesn't put a stop to it. The Rumbling is exactly that…it's Eren's revenge. We can stop it but we need to work together. All of us. Eldians and Marleyans." I pleaded as I stared at my squadmates. Jean stared at me with shocked light brown eyes.
My eyes followed him as he stood back up with Armin and Connie helping him. The three of them eyed me one more time before they turned and walked away.
"It didn't work. They're not going to help us." I heard Gabi mutter behind me. I watched with pain in my eyes seeing my squadmates just walk away. I can only hope that they'll think about what I said.
I felt an arm wrap around my shoulders and I felt my back get pulled into a familiar chest. A hand gently grabbed my chin and made me turn my head. I met the concerned gold eyes of Reiner.
"You alright? You shouldn't have taken that punch. I'm the one that heals fast, not you." He asked. He inspected my slightly swollen and red cheek.
"I'll be fine. I've had worse." I assured him. Reiner sighed before turning me around and pulling me into a hug.
"Just…don't do that again unless you actually defend yourself. Okay?" He muttered quietly.
I wrapped my arms around him to return the hug, "Got it." I answered softly. My eyes happen to catch Gabi and Falco watching us. Their eyes held curiosity and interest as they watched. Right, this is their first time seeing Reiner and I together.
"Well, we only have a few hours till sunrise. We best get some sort of sleep before heading out." Hange advised the ones that still remained by the campfire.
Those that remained at the camp site helped put things away from dinner. Then took out the many bed rolls that were packed. I unrolled mine on the ground and tossed the folded sheets for my pillow on top.
I blinked when another bed roll was rolled out right next to mine. I looked to my right to see Reiner had set up his right up against mine.
"Uh…Reiner," He turned to me with a raised brow, "You sure about this?" His brows furrowed as he stared at me confused.
"Why wouldn't I?" My cheeks flushed at the thought of us sleeping next together with other people around.
"Ah, well uh…"
"Just sleep next to each other. All of us already know. It's not like you guys were keeping it secret or anything." Annie chastised me as she walked by with her own bedroll under her arm. My face deadpanned and I shot Annie an annoyed glare.
"So glad you're back, Annie." I stated sarcastically. Annie didn't physically respond but just held her hand up. My eyebrow twitched. She still gets on my nerves…
"You're acting like we haven't done more." I heard Reiner's voice whisper into my ear. My face went red as memories of this morning flashed in my head.
"Knock it off." I hushed him as I lightly smacked his chest. I sat down on the bed roll and collapsed onto my back. I stared up at the starry night sky as Reiner laid down beside me. He pulled the shared sheet over both of us as he rested on his back. He had his hands behind his head as the looked up at the sky as well.
I rolled over to him and rested my head on his chest. My right arm draped across his abdomen. I closed my eyes as I felt him wrap an arm around me. His hand rested on my waist and I felt him softly kiss the top of my head.
"Night Viv." He whispered.
"Night." I whispered back.
