Chapter 4
Footsteps were heard coming down the hall.
Lloyd knew he didn't have much time and the only way to get out was the way he got in.
He climbed back into the hole as fast as he could, ignoring the fact that the rock he moved earlier nearly fell on his whole leg. Luckily, he managed to move it in time, so he only got away with a painful bruise, because he hit his knee on the side of the wall pretty hard.
The bruise was really painful, he wanted to scream. But couldn't. The boy covered his mouth. Getting out of this hell-hole was his first priority. His life depended on it.
He slid and fell, hit some new rocks, but it was all worth it. After minutes of going back he finally reached the fresh air of the outside. The sun was already setting, which meant he didn't have much time. The Ninja will soon come after him.
Lloyd got up and started running, as fast and stealthily as the bruise let him.
His energy after the little adventure he just had was depleting fast. "I need to go faster! It's my only chance!"
He was fast nearing the stables. "Almost there!"
…
Lloyd got to the stables fast enough and grabbed his bag, stuffing it with a few wardrobe choices, a lot of food and a few gallons of water.
"Not much, but should get me 'till I reach the next place to stay. But still, it is pretty heavy."
The voices of the Ninja were heard approaching.
Lloyd froze over. "What am I doing? Maybe what I heard was wrong? Maybe… Maybe those people weren't my family?... No! Lloyd get yourself together! You know what you saw! You can't risk finding out the truth… Not like this. Not now."
The grandson of FSM quickly snuck out from the window and ran across the City of temples.
He was nearing to the gate.
Nearer.
Nearer.
Nearer.
He was already readying to jump over it when something tackled him over the wall and further. Hard. A grunt left the boy's mouth.
…
…
…
Lloyd fell of the mountain.
The last thing he saw was a curly haired boy with a black and yellow gi and the dragon he was riding.
Arin and Riyu.
Lloyd and his family.
Soon… Nothing will be left.
