Chapter 310

Hiccups POV:

I stared at chief Frode, waiting for him to finally tell me what he'd been hiding from me before he finally looked at me and asked.

"Do you remember Dahlia?" I scratched my head for a few moments before snapping my fingers as I remembered her.

"Yeah, she was a nice girl I met the last time I was here, and we shared a friendly drink when I got back from capturing the bandits you had a bounty on." The men gave me looks that I couldn't understand until Frode said.

"Lad, she passed away of illness a three years ago." I felt my heart drop hearing this and looked down.

"I'm sorry to hear that, from the time we spent together I know she didn't have any family which is a shame since she was a really nice girl who I would have been happy to share a life with if I wasn't mourning the loss of another lover." They nodded.

"Well lad, from what Dahlia told me, you two shared more than just a few drinks that night." A blush immediately formed on my face remembering the night of drunken pleasure I spent with Dahlia when I was still in mourning after I thought I lost Hadasa to the demon Arbutrus and just got lost in the alcohol and pleasure Dahlia provided.

"She told you about that?" They nodded.

"She did after she discovered something after you left." I looked up but before I could ask the sound of barking cut me off and I turned to see a brown furred wolf with a leather collar walking next to a kid who was probably just entering puberty, with a bow on his back, entering the hall as the boy said.

"Good morning chief, I was told you wanted to see me."

"Hunter, excellent timing." He gestured to an empty seat. "Please sit down." The kid I now knew to be named Hunter sat down with the wolf sitting next to him. "Now lad, do you have any idea why I called you here?" Hunter shook his head.

"If it's about winter coming up and how my hut is now don't worry, it's just a few burn holes and I've been saving up to have it repaired."

"First of all, lad, an entire quarter of your hut burning down is not a few holes and second of all, you may be skilled and know how to take care of yourself but you're still only thirteen and third of all, I called you here for another reason." He gestured to me. "And that reason is right here." I nodded in greeting to Hunter who nodded back. "This is Hiccup Haddock who recently just brought back our tribes' ancestral sword and now that he is back, I felt it was time that the two of you should meet." I raised an eyebrow as it all began to come together as I remembered what we talked about before Hunter entered and as soon as it hit me, I stood up and asked.

"By any chance, was your mother a woman named Dahlia?" Hunter raised an eyebrow but nodded.

"Yeah, she passed away three years ago and I've never met my father since he was a bounty hunter who just spent the one night here on the island, so mom never got the chance to tell him about me." He shrugged and pulled out a gronkle iron dagger. "Still got this though, something he left behind which my mom gave to me figuring I should have something of the man who helped bring me into this world." I turned to the three other men in the room who could see I'd realized who Hunter was before Chief Frode took a breath.

"I think you'll be having more than just a dagger lad." Hunter looked up at him before he gestured to me. "Hunter, I'd like you to meet your father." As soon as the words left his mouth, silence filled the great hall with the only sound being metal hitting stone as the dagger Hunter had hit the ground as he stared at me which seemed to shake him out of his shock.

"Wait a minute chief." He pointed at me. "You're telling me that this guy is my dad?" He then turned to me. "You're my dad?" I took a breath before running a hand through my hair.

"Looks like it since in addition to the chief's words, your mother was a woman I spent a night with and you do have one of my old daggers so yeah, I guess I am your father."

He stared at me for a few seconds, and I could hear his heart beating fast as I took the time to examine him and saw he was wearing a grey shirt that was torn up on the edges and on the sleeves, exposing a few cuts and bruises with some being on his face and legs with the ones on his legs being shown through the rips in the black pants and he had brown boots that also had a few holes in them. His hair was brown like mine, but his eyes were just like his mothers, but it was hard to truly see one since he had a swollen black eye. His wolf wasn't in any better condition since there was a large scar going across its chest while the rest of its body was littered with smaller scars that could be seen through his brown fur. I was brought out of my examination when Hunter shook his head.

"I'm sorry but I need some time alone to think about this." He walked out with the wolf following him and although I wanted to follow him, I knew he needed time to process all this and to be honest, so did I before I took a breath and turned to the chief and other two men.

"Tell me about my son." They nodded and began telling me about Hunter.

2 hours later

It's been two hours since I learnt about my son and those two hours had been spent with the chief and the two men who I learned were there to make sure he didn't chicken out since they think Hunter is a good kid and had a right to meet his father. They also hoped I might be able to offer him a better life than what he currently had which is when they explained how things had been pretty rough for him since his mother gave birth to him and even more so since she passed. For starters, a quarter of his house being burned down which he'd covered up using an old sail to help keep out the cold at night which it barely did during these nights near winter so he freezes at night with his wolf cuddling him to keep him warm but even then, it could only do so much. Speaking of the wolf, I learnt that he was originally a cub that was orphaned during a fire which they believe his parents perished in and was found by Hunter who wanted to see how bad the fire had been and begged his mother to let him keep it. After that he named him 'Havard' and raised him to be a hunting companion and formed a bond that was so strong that it was rare to see one of them without the other. Another thing is he was rarely in the village during the day since he was often out in the forest checking traps, he'd set up to capture animals.

They then told me something that made it clear he was my son and that was how he often designed and made his own traps with some being creative in design and strong enough to take out some of the bears that roam the woods. In addition to this he was also a skilled hunter when using the bow for long range attacks and good with the dagger when he was dealing with beasts up close. He was also a skilled tracker and good when it came to handling the animal carcasses such as skinning and preparing the meat which is why the local butcher had him help out from time to time.

As a person though, he wasn't well liked by the parents of this village whose dislike of him had been passed on to their kids who had been told to avoid him and not to talk to him. Apparently, it had always been this way since his mother fell pregnant with him before marriage and as such she was seen as a loose woman while he was seen as an unwanted burden on the village despite all he did to help the people. They didn't care but the chief was grateful for all his help as were the butcher, blacksmith and fisherman since he helped lighten their work load a bit and it was because of this they believed he deserved a better life and one with a family to help watch over him. I couldn't blame them for this since even though he just recently turned thirteen, he was still being picked on, beaten and insulted by the rest of his generation and sometimes the parents as well.

Now though, I was making my way down to the village and to the hut where my son was supposed to be living since, he hadn't earned enough money to have it repaired yet since in addition to him being a kid, due to who he is a lot of the builders charged him twice the normal fees. As I walked though, I couldn't help but keep thinking about how I had a son before I met Blanca, and I never even knew it, but I also knew I'd need to find some way to make it up to him for all the birthdays I missed and all the times he needed me, and I was never there. I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of cruel laughter along with the growling of a wolf, coming from an alley way between two huts ahead of me. Curiosity got the best of me, and I made my way over to the alley but what I saw made my blood boil since there were four guys in the alley with two of them holding Hunters arms against the walls of one of the huts, one was holding Havard down while holding Hunters bow and the final guy was smirking as his fist was being lowered with Hunters dagger in his free hand. I then noticed Hunter had a black eye and bloody nose. The one who obviously punched Hunter asked.

"So, I'll ask you again, why did the chief call for a worthless burden like you." Hunter just glared at him.

"The chief just wanted me to meet someone and to discuss some things with me." He glared at Hunter and raised his fist.

"Like the chief would ever want you to meet one of our guests when your own father can't even be bothered to come and meet you." I quickly activated my ox flame boots speed mode and rushed up, grabbing his fist by the wrist as I said.

"If you even think about striking him again then tomorrow you will wake up in one of the cells of the coliseum in Rome, where they keep prisoners who are waiting to be fed to the lions." They all jumped back in shock which I couldn't blame since for them, it must've seemed like I just appeared of nowhere and turned to the two men holding my son. "And you two, if you want to keep your arms then let him go before, I sever them." I then turned to the one pinning Havard down. "And you get off that wolf or I will feed you to my own wolves." The one who I was holding seemed to shake out of his shock and pulled his wrist free and turned to me.

"Who do you think you are?" He looked me up and down. "You're that dumb bounty hunter who met with the chief." I nodded before he grabbed the edges of my coat. "Do you think you have the right to interfere with tribal matters."

"In this case, I believe I do." I grabbed his hand and slowly crushed it making him cry out and drop Hunters dagger. "You see, I'm the one the chief wanted Hunter to meet, and the reason is that he felt it was time Hunter and I met since I am his father." Their eyes widened. "And although I only met him today, like any good father," I crushed his hand tighter while heating my prosthetic up a bit making him grit his teeth in pain and drop to his knees as I growled. "I do not like seeing my son being bullied by scum like you who should be old enough to know better!" I then grabbed him by the neck and slammed his face into the huts wall, denting the wall before I tossed him aside and then looked at the other members. "Now get lost before I decide to stop being so nice." They dropped Hunter and his stuff before grabbing their downed friend and running from me in fear while Havard walked up to Hunter and whined in concern as I walked up and kneeled. "Are you alright?" He just nodded. "Let's get you back to your hut where I can take care of your wounds." Hunter shook his head.

"No, to be honest, this isn't the worst beating I've gotten from them." I clenched my fists.

"We'll talk about that later, for now we get all your wounds taken care of." I stood back up. "Can you walk?" He nodded but when he stood up, he winced in pain and fell back down before I caught him. "There's nothing wrong with being honest when you need help."

He didn't reply which was fine with me as I helped Hunter over to a hut that looked to have seen better days with the roof partly burned off, indents in the wood from things been thrown at it and a hole burned in the back with all the holes being covered by an old sail. I helped Hunter into the house and saw the inside was in a little better condition than the outside but still a little dinged up and dusty. I sat him down on a chair and said.

"Alright, now let's take a look at your wounds." I raised my hand to brush the hair out of his face, but he pushed it away.

"I'm fine, I can take care of myself." I smiled.

"From what I've been told me about you, I have no doubt." I then frowned and studied his wounds, taking not of other healing cuts and bruises. "Do they bully you often?" He shrugged.

"Once a day but it's been going on for years, so I'm used to it." I sat down in a chair across from him.

"Have you tried talking to their parents." He looked down.

"My mother did but all that did was get my mom insulted, spat on and yelled at claiming I deserved it for being a burden on the village and it got me an even worse beating from them along with rocks thrown at me by their parents and the younger kids when I passed by." I clenched my fists in anger, remembering my own childhood but before I could reply, the door slammed open to reveal some very angry men with their leader who had a large black beard and hair tied back in a tight braid, wearing a dark yellow tunic with a yak fur vest yelling.

"HUNTER, WHERE ARE YOU, YOU PATHETIC WASTE OF SPACE!?" I was in a chair with its back facing the door, so he didn't notice me when his eyes landed on Hunter. "OUR BOYS TELL US YOU PAID THAT VISITING BOUNTY HUNTER TO THREATEN THEM!" He marched forward with his fist raised. "I'LL SHOW YOU WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU MESS WITH MY BOY!" He brought his fist down towards Hunter but as it passed me, I grabbed it with my prosthetic, gaining his attention as I looked up at the man with a straight face as I said.

"Good afternoon." I stood up, strengthening my grip and making the man growl in pain. "Let's get some things straight, shall we?" I tightened my grip even more to the point that if it got any stronger, I'd snap his wrist like a twig as I glared down at him. "I did not threaten your boys because Hunter paid me, I did it because they were beating him, and I did not like it." He grits his teeth while glaring at me.

"Why are you defending this parentless burden who you don't even know from what he deserves?"

"First of all, he doesn't deserve to be abused for simply being born to a woman who didn't marry his father and second of all" I shoved him back. "I am his father!" They all gasped and stared at me in shock. "Yeah, came as a pretty big shock for me as well since I never knew he existed, but I do remember that his mother was a wonderful woman and from what I've been told, a lot of you treated her badly after she found herself pregnant with my son, so I am not the least bit happy with you lot." I then glanced back at Hunter who was staring in shock before I turned back to the men. "Now since I would like to tend to my sons' injuries that were given to him by your sons, I am going to let you walk away now instead of showing you why you should never mess with my family." They got over their shock and laughed before their leader stood up.

"Like we'd ever listen to a pathetic bounty hunter like you." I raised an eyebrow.

"Tell me, have you heard any of the rumors about me?" They all looked confused before one of the men laughed.

"You mean those ridiculous rumors about you having magic weapons gifted to you by the gods, taking on monsters, being able to summon an army of warriors or that joke of a rumor that you ride a nightfury." They all laughed before and other said.

"Or how's about that rumor that you can turn a man into stone with a glare." I was really getting annoyed with their laughter and grabbed the one who brought up my eye by the front of his shirt and pulled him in.

"You shouldn't take rumors lightly." I undid my eyepatch to reveal the eye of the dragon and smiled when he gasped in shock and fear before he slowly turned to stone in front of his friends making them all stare in shock which turned to fear, making them back up terrified, as I turned to them. "There's normally some truth to them." They'd all backed out of the house and not wanting them to ever think of coming back again, I extended my shadow behind them and released Toothless, quickly signaling him to be battle ready and he growled making them all turn around and jump back in fear but before they could run, I summoned my ninja warriors and had them surround us while signaling them to not let them escape. "Now about how you and your kids have been treating my son." I changed my prosthetic into its dragon claw form while releasing my khopesh. "I believe some severe discipline is needed." They just stared at me in fear as I began walking towards them.

Nightfall

Night had fallen over the village and for that I was grateful since this day had been one massive headache when I was done dealing with the fathers of those who beat up my son which ended with them receiving their own bruises and cuts before I turned them to stone like their friend. As expected though, it gained a lot of attention with many of the people running to get the chief who was shocked not at the fact that I'd beaten the men so hard and turned them to stone but that some of the rumors he heard about me were true, especially the one about me riding a nightfury. When he heard what happened that led to me fighting the men, he agreed to let it go while claiming that he couldn't fault me for simply wanting to defend my son, but I could see the fear in his eyes, so it was easy to tell that he didn't want to anger me further. The families of the men though weren't happy, especially since their husbands or fathers had been turned to stone for being mean to what they referred to as a burden to the village. When they made their anger clear and threatened Hunter, I released my sentient metal needles and had them fly right at them and stop only an inch away from their eyes making them fall back in shock before I explained the strength of my needles and what I'd do with them if they ever insulted my son again. After that I let them and Chief Frode know that the men I'd turned to stone would be back to normal in a few hours before the chief got everyone to back off and sent them on their way and then turned to me while asking me to avoid fighting anymore people or turn them into statues.

Once that was done, I walked back into the hut while signaling Toothless to guard the door and for my ninja to return to whatever it was, they were doing. Hunter had been staring at me from the door, in shock and a little fear before I pulled out my mystic Ganji waters and healed his wounds from his earlier beating. When that was done, he stared at me and then asked me what in Midgard was I, since he was having a hard time believing what he just saw which lead to me telling and showing him about how I met Toothless and some of my adventures including the ones that lead to me gaining my own ninjas and how my eye could turn people to stone. It was easy to tell he was impressed and wanted to know more and when I told him about my island, I could see the desire in his eyes but I could also see hesitation and fear. Now we'd moved onto the subject of him moving in with the family and I could tell he was hesitant before he said.

"I'm not sure I want to move since I can take care of myself." I nodded.

"I have no doubt about that, Chief Frode's told me that you've done well on your own when it comes to catching your own food but with winter coming, animals are scarce, and families are buckling down on their food and furs, so he doubts you'll have an easy one." Hunter looked down. "Hunter, I can easily tell there's more to this than just being able to take care of yourself." He sighed.

"It's just that this was the village I was born in and although my good memories are few, it's still where I grew up and this hut although it's in ruins is all I have left of my mother." I sighed but smiled since his reason for wanting to stay was understandable.

"I understand but listen, I've decided to stay in the village and help prepare for the coming winter, so you have time to decide and if you do decide to come with me, I promise I'll bring you back to visit from time to time to visit and I'll even help bring your hut with us." He raised an eyebrow.

"And how will you do that?" I smiled.

"I have ways." With that said I stood up and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Just think about my offer, that's all I ask." With that said, I walked out of the hut and the moment the door was closed I brought out some crystal skulls and set them up around the hut since I had a feeling some of the villagers might try something while I was on my ship.

1 week later

It's been a week since I met Hunter and since then, I'd remained in the village to both help them prepare for the coming winter and just get to know Hunter. I'd learnt a lot about him and joined him on his hunts which is where I learnt the bow may have been his main hunting weapon and the dagger, I left behind that his mother gave him was mainly used for skinning. The weapon he preferred for combat and fighting though was a set of twin axes which he'd been practicing with but the thing about the ones he used was he'd outgrown them a while ago since he used to use them when he was a kid. When I saw them gripped in his hands, I knew what he meant since his hands were bigger than the handles which had leather that was coming undone while the blades were dull and rusted and if he tried to sharpen them anymore, they'd break.

Still though he'd use them since he couldn't afford new ones since he and his mother didn't have a lot of money to begin with since the bar she worked at as a waitress barely paid enough for them to survive which is why he began hunting when he was younger than me when I began apprenticing under Gobber. Of course, back then he could only bring back three rabbits at most each week but as time passed his skills as a hunter and trapper improved and now, he was one of the best hunters in the village. In combat with other people though, he was skilled with his axes in long range since he had good aim when it came to throwing them but in close combat, he needed a bit of work since any skilled opponent would have an easy time taking him down.

As for Havard, he'd begun trusting me a bit more and didn't whimper in fear or growl in hostility when I was near Hunter and was content to just remain at Hunters side when I was near which was understandable since Hunter was his only family. Speaking of family, I'd contacted my own family back on New Berk and to say they were shocked was an understatement since my mother fainted, my dad choked on his drink, my wives each fell into their couches in shock and my kids just remained silent. The one who took it well though was surprisingly Gobber who chuckled and gave me a thumb up while claiming 'good job lad' and told me to bring Hunter back as soon as I could. It was a full day before I got a message from my family and they demanded an explanation and after I told them everything such as how his mother and I shared one night together while I was trying to get over Hadasa, how he was treated in the village and above all, what happened to his mother. When I filled them in on everything, they all promised that they'd be kind and welcome him into our family and do their best to be good mothers and siblings to him if he chose to come live with us. My parents agreed with my family with my dad throwing in that if he did come to live with us than he'd also be joining us for chief training since being my first blood born son, he was the rightful heir to Berk who would take up the title of chief after I retire. I shook my head knowing it would be a still long while before I took up the title of chief since I wasn't done travelling the world or being a champion of the gods.

Things hadn't all been so peaceful though, that first night people did take the opportunity of me being on my ship to try and hurt Hunter only to be captured by my crystal skulls. I released them the following morning and they sent the message to everyone not to ever mess with Hunter again and the fear in their eyes was what kept everyone else from messing with Hunter. Still though, I could tell a lot of the people were just waiting for me to leave so they could get back to treating Hunter as if he were dirt and making his life miserable, but if I had it my way, they'd never touch my son again due to them being too busy shoveling dragon poo. Now it was nightfall and like every night here, I was sitting with Hunter and talking about things to get to know him a bit better and bond with him as his father, but tonight was my last night on this island and I'd just repeated my offer to come live with me and my family and waited for his reply before he looked at me and said.

"If I do make the move, I have a few conditions." I nodded and gestured for him to name them.

"First, you told me that you could bring my hut with us to your island." I nodded. "I would like it to be set up somewhere and if possible, repaired." I smiled and nodded.

"That's doable but if you intend to still live there then we'll need to discuss some rules." He raised an eyebrow. "Nothing unfair, I promise, and I will try to keep them as reasonable as any parent can." He looked down and nodded but I could tell he was a little untrusting and nervous.

"Second, no harm is to come to Havard since he's my friend and the only family I've had since mom died." Havard sat up and lay his head on Hunters lap before he stroked him.

"No need for that condition, I have wolves of my own remember?" He nodded. "None of them will harm or let anything happen to Havard if he joins their pack and with how they are, he'll be accepted within a day." Hunter smiled down at his wolf.

"Third, I'd like to be able to come back and visit the village from time to time since although my good memories of this place not involving my mom are few, I still have some and feel it'd be nice to just walk around and remember them." I nodded.

"Fourth, I want to continue to be able to hunt since it's something I truly enjoy."

"I'll be happy to allow that as long as you don't harm any of the animals on my island since their family, but I'll be happy to bring in some wild boars and rabbits for you to hunt." He nodded.

"And fifth, I would like for you to train me." I raised an eyebrow.

"Train you?" Hunter nodded.

"I'm good at hunting and fighting animals but I want to be more than that, I'd like to be a warrior who can defend himself and others from those who would use their strength to hurt those weaker than them." I couldn't help but feel proud of Hunters words and placed a hand on his shoulder, gaining his attention.

"You truly are my son." He stared at me. "Protecting others is all I've ever wanted to use my own strength for, ever since I was young and was bullied, beaten and shunned in my own village." He looked at me in shock.

"You were bullied and shunned?" I chuckled and shrugged.

"Yeah, not a good time in my life but we'll talk more about that later." I stood up. "For now, you should get some rest since we've got a busy day tomorrow with moving your hut and saying goodbye to all those who actually cared about you." He smiled and nodded before I left the hut.

4 hours before sunrise

It was hours before sunrise and I was once again in the great hall of the village with chief Frode, his two trusted men, standing in front of not only the boys who bullied Hunter but their fathers as well. The reason is, a few minutes ago they'd tried to sneak into Hunters home, intending to kill his wolf, Havard and then leave him at Hunters doorstep as a cruel final prank. Fortunately, I had figured some of Hunter's more stubborn bullies who had continued to harass him despite my warnings would try something and had some of my ninja stand guard. A few minutes ago, they'd captured those who wanted to harm my sons pet and alerted me that something had happened and after a quick interrogation with chief Frode helping out, we found out their intentions. To say I was angry would be an understatement and the only reason these men weren't against the wall bleeding and covered in bruises was thanks to my ninja and kung fu training to maintain my composure in tense situations. I was shaken out of my thoughts when Frode turned to me and said.

"Hiccup, I will ensure they're punished for this." I nodded.

"Nice of you to say Chief but I'd like to make it clear to them and everyone why you do not mess with my family." I grabbed one of the fathers by the back of his neck. "And I know just how to do it." A second later, he began to scream and struggle in my grip, but I held on tight for a few more seconds before shoving him down to reveal the back of his neck now bore my nightfury symbol branded into his skin making everyone stare in shock while I turned to the other bullies. "Who's next?" The bullies leaned back in fear, but I remembered what they intended to do, and all the things Hunter had told me that they'd done to him and got to work on doing the same to them.

Morning

Morning had finally come, and I'd already gotten to work with helping Hunter pack up his things to avoid them falling over and breaking when we moved his hut. That was done earlier, using Toothless and some dragons I went and got from the bewilderbeast nest and had it moved onto my ships deck earlier in the morning before anyone woke up since a house being carried off by dragons would scare anyone.

Hunter and I were on my ship leaving the docks and waving goodbye to chief Frode and the few people who had come to see us off as my ship sailed away from the island. Once the island was nothing more than a speck in the distance, I turned to Hunter who turned to me and asked.

"So, dad, how long will it be before we get to your island?" I turned to him and smiled.

"A few seconds." He stared at me.

"You're kidding right?" He gestured to the ocean. "There's no island near here so how we would get there in seconds." I smirked at him.

"My boy, you forget who you're talking to." I gently led him and Havard inside to where the crystal map was and created a portal leading to a spot just off the coast of New Berk, shocking Hunter as I smiled at him. "Hunter, I may have given you a tour of my ship, but I didn't tell you of all its abilities." He just stared at me shock but I patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, like your adoptive siblings, I'm sure that you'll get used to it over time." He just stared at me until we were fully through, and New Berk was in sight which is when I turned him to face the island. "Hunter, welcome to New Berk." He just stared at the island raised up into the sky.

15 minutes later

We were now on my island and although my family wanted to give Hunter and Havard a big party to welcome him to our family, but Hunter begged me not to since he wasn't one for big parties and would prefer to just meet them and the other island residents while he explored the island. We could all respect this so we all just went about our normal day and just did our own thing while Hunter enjoyed exploring the island to familiarize himself with his new home and find a good place to put his hut. Now though, I was standing in the guest room with Hunter and Havard since this was the room where they'd be staying until he could decide where he'd like his hut to be placed on the island and would move there when it's fully repaired. I watched as Hunter looked around and said.

"I know it's different to what you're used to, but I hope you'll be comfortable here until your hut is repaired." He just looked around.

"It's fine dad." He threw his satchel onto the bed. "If you don't mind, I'd like to be alone for a bit." I nodded and walked out the room to go talk to my dad who sent me a message through our messenger cats that he wanted to talk to me about the possibility of me taking up more chiefing responsibilities and to talk about Hunter.

Hunters POV:

I watched as the man who I now knew to be my father walked out of what would be my temporary room until my hut was repaired but as soon as he left, I sighed and fell face first onto the large bed. Who could blame me though since before we came to the palace that my father called his home, he had his flying ship circle over the island that surrounded the island he called New Berk and gave me an idea of all the different environments. It really was a lot to take in, especially the few animals I was able to see in the distance which looked like nothing I'd ever seen as did some of the buildings I could see and couldn't help but wonder what the buildings were used for. If that wasn't crazy enough for me, my dad had told me that everyone in my new family was eager to meet me and with how many people there are, it was not going to be easy and then there's the dragons. Seriously, in the village I grew up in we'd rarely see any dragons and even when we did it'd normally just be passing by the island, not bothering to come near the village and now I was going to be living on an island with multiple dragon nests. It was then I was brought out of my thoughts by the sound of a whine and the feeling of the cold nose of the wolf who'd been my only friend for years pressing against my hand. I turned to Havard who stared at me, and I smiled before sitting up and rubbing his head while saying.

"I'm alright pal, just a lot to take in you know?" He barked before I took a breath and stood up. "Well, we explored nearly every inch of our old home so what do you say we start exploring our new home." Havard barked and began wagging his tail before we made our way out of the room to begin exploring what was now our new home.

AN: And here's the long-awaited chapter and for those of you who are wondering why it took so long, we were trying to figure out what Hunters age was and adding all the time skips together took time. Thanks to my pal Reddragon Emperor though, it's all added up and then some so now we have an exact age for not only Hunter but the full family, except Blanca since who knows how old she could be since that could be thousands of years before she met Hiccup. Anyway, I went back to Chapter 291 and redid some scenes so you may wish to go back and check some of them out. With that said, remember to review and have a nice day.
