Chapter 56
"Law is in Impel Down?" Rosinante yelled.
"Yes, it seems like he broke in with Monkey D. Luffy," Sengoku sighed. "We don't know why either of them are there, there is no reason for them to break in, but either way, both of them are in Impel Down at the moment."
Kuzan groaned. "Damn Kuma."
"Bwahahaha, I can't believe Luffy broke in!" Garp laughed. "Our grandsons are troublemakers, ain't they, Senny?"
"Damn you, Garp! I bet this is your grandson's fault! I bet he needed my grandson's brains to break into there in the first place so he took Law with him!"
Rosinante sighed.
"Luffy wouldn't need any help breaking into anywhere!" Garp protested.
Sengoku huffed. "Either way, Straw Hat will be defeated, as will Law. Law we will hold in Impel Down until the mess with Whitebeard is finished, then escort him here, while Straw Hat will be arrested for his crimes."
Rosinante shook his head. "I just don't get why he'd go there. Law isn't normally reckless like this."
Sengoku sighed. "Guess we can ask him when he's arrested."

Buggy grimaced. Law's fever was getting worse in this heat. He had passed out on his back, shaking and gasping breathlessly. They needed to get off this floor and back up. Law wasn't going to survive otherwise.
Buggy was trying his best to heal him, but the heat was sapping his energy away too.

"Straw Hat, Law can't handle it down there! He's burning up something fierce already!" Buggy yelled. "The Burning Hell will kill him!"
Law sighed against his back and raised his hand to his head. Yeah, he was burning up even worse again. Law pushed in a pulse of healing magic to soothe away the fever.
"Ah, Traffy, you're awake!" Luffy grinned.
"Go back to sleep, you idiot!" Buggy yelped. "You're fever keeps getting high. You're going to die!"
"WHAT?!" Luffy cried.
Law shook his head. "I'm healing myself right now. The rest has helped me regain some strength."
"Not if you follow this idiot into Level Four," Buggy protested. "It's the Burning Hell, Law!"
"We want to go up to our freedom!" Mr. 3 insisted.
"Hey, it looks like the ceiling is rising!" Luffy said.
Law groaned and rested his head against Buggy again as they fell down to Level Four.

Luffy had managed to land a hit on Magellan, but it wasn't enough to defeat him, and now he was covered in poison. Law wiped more sweat off his brow and steadied himself up on his feet. They were surrounded by fire, and Law could feel the poison burning into his shoulder, but he forced himself to ignore it. Law grabbed Luffy's hands and began to quickly try to heal them. He had tried to fight alongside Luffy after Buggy and Mr. 3, and even surprising the loyal Bon Clay left, but it still wasn't enough.
Law had known he hadn't been strong enough for New World yet, and this only doubled down his resolve to keep sailing in Paradise for a while longer.
If he got out of this mess of course.
"You brought me to my knees, Straw Hat," Magellan grumbled. "You never know what a cornered rat will do, but you've got enough poison on you to affect your entire body, and you cannot heal the boy in your condition, Trafalgar Law."
"Go screw yourself," Law scoffed. "Don't tell me what I can and can't heal."
Luffy launched himself in for another attack. He almost got hit by hydra, but Law took the opportunity to attack Magellan's back, slicing deep into it, earning a pained cry.
"You know haki!" he cursed.
"Thanks to Hibiscus Rouge!" Law said.
Dammit, Luffy punched away hydra, but got splashed by the poison anyway. Law couldn't keep healing him, not when he was barely keeping the damn witch fever at bay.
It took Law a moment to realise that Magellan was poisoning the air.
"Luffy, don't breath in the fog!" Law yelled. "It's poison!"
Law ducked beneath a swipe of Magellan's arm and got back to Luffy's side.
"Room!" Law pushed back the poisoned fog with a Room, as Luffy gasped, coughing and spluttering on his knees.
"Enough, Trafalgar Law. It's over," Magellan said.
"Gear Second!" Luffy yelled.
"Luffy, no, the poison!" Law cursed.
Magellan turned himself fully into poison.
"Give me back Thatch!" Luffy screamed, leaping at Magellan.
"LUFFY!" Law screamed.
He was going to get himself killed! Several hydra heads were charging towards Luffy, ready to swallow him up, and Law couldn't even help. One of the hydra heads went after him, forcing Law to dodge the blow. He knew Magellan was trying to keep him at bay so that he couldn't save Luffy, and it was working!
A figure shimmered in sight beside Luffy just as Law dodged the hydra head. Rouge grabbed Luffy and threw him Law's way, just as the hydra heads were about to swallow Luffy whole.
"Catch him!" Rouge yelled.
"Shadow Lady!" Luffy gasped.
"Rouge-ya!" Law screamed as the hydra heads swallowed her up.
Law caught Luffy with a pained hiss, the poison burning him. Law opened up another room and began to draw the poison off Luffy's body. He needed to keep Luffy's organs from failing. He had taken in too much poison already. Luffy who gasped and squirmed against him.
"N-No-" Luffy protested, staring wide eyed, but Law smacked him roughly over the head.
"Shut up!" Law snapped. "You almost got yourself killed! What did you think I'd have to tell Sabo and Ace?"
"Rouge!" Luffy screamed.
The Hydra was cut open with a single slice, and Magellan stumbled back with a pained gasped, clutching his shoulder as the sword swing tore it wide open, scattering a wave of blood. Rouge landed on her feet, barely fazed, and approached Magellan slowly, while he kept stumbling back, eyes wide with terror. Rogue was covered in poison. It dripped from her. But she was already dead. It thankfully was causing her no harm.
"I knew you knew my name, you little shit," Rouge huffed, wiping poison out of her hair. "And you." She stared down Magellan, despite the height difference. "You just tried to kill one of my kids. Mine."
A wave of conqueror's haki slammed into him, knocking Magellan out in one blow.
"Rouge-" Law began.
"Hold on," Rouge said, waving a hand over herself. The poison disappeared when a shimmer of blue magic washed over her, then she approached him and Luffy. "You reckless idiot-"
"I had to save Thatch-" Luffy protested.
"You can't die while doing so!" Rouge snapped, as Law lifted the poison on Luffy's body off with a quick takt. "How did you think Thatch would feel? He'd be devastated, and even worse, how do you think Makino and Shanks would react? Then there's us! Law, Sabo, Ace, and me! Your crew too! You're living for more than just one person, Monkey D. Luffy. You're life belongs with countless other people. For the love of the seas, don't do that to me again!"
Rouge grabbed Luffy and yanked him close, hugging him tight. "Don't scare me like that." Her voice was wobbly. "I don't want to lose you too. Any of you."
"Rouge-" Law began.
"You too, you little shit!" Rouge grabbed him too and pulled him into the hug.
Law sighed and leaned against her, closing his eyes and resting his head for a bit.
"Law, I'm sorry to ask you this, but I need you to look after Luffy for a bit longer. I don't think you can save Thatch here, but if you can, that would be awesome. Just in case though I need to be ready for Marineford."
"Why can't you just help us now?" Luffy asked, his voice heavy with pain and exhaustion.
Law's eyes drifted open. "Because she's already turning back into a ghost."
Her arm was already gone, her embrace disappearing.
"Yeah..." Rouge sighed. "I wish I could, Luffy, but I can't stay. Look after each other, you two."
Law slung Luffy over his shoulder as he and Rouge stood up.
"Thanks for coming back for us despite your condition," Law said.
"Pfft, you make me sound like the reckless one. I'm not the one suffering from a witch's fever and down in this hell hole," Rouge laughed, then disappeared.
"Traffy...?" Luffy groaned, as they began to hear guards rushing their way, all yelling for Magellan.
"Go to sleep, Luffy-ya. I'm going to try get us somewhere safe."
"Okay... trust you..."
Law had to admit, that was a little heart warming, although he was even more impressed how Luffy passed out the moment he said that, snoring away.
The guards aimed their guns their way, quickly surrounding them. "Trafalgar Law, Monkey D. Luffy, you're surround now!" they yelled. "Just give up!"
Law focused on his room. He needed it to grow larger. Larger than he had ever done before.
Law smirked. "Sure, I'll give up, when you go and drown yourself in your own bullshit. I'm not surrendering to you. Not when I have bigger fish to fry."
"Trafalgar, surrender now!" a guard snarled, approaching with two pairs of seastone cuffs. "You have nowhere to go!"
Law chuckled. Idiots.
"Shambles!"
Law almost blacked out, but a chill thankfully made him shiver and sit up. He and Luffy were in some frozen wasteland. Law gasped. He had gotten them a whole new level away from Magellan and his grunts. He couldn't believe it.
Law cursed and began healing Luffy, using his free hand to press the healing magic into him as Law walked. Luffy was still had too much poison in his system, the damn idiot.
Law sighed. "We knew this would be a difficult fight to rescue Thatch. I hate that I wasn't at my best for this coming here with you, in fact I might have been more of a burden for a while there, but I'll keep doing my best to heal you of that poison, Luffy-ya."
Luffy's snore was his reply to that.
"Straw-chan! Law-chan!"
Law frowned when he saw a half naked Bon Clay rush over. Why the hell was he half naked?
"Bon Clay-ya? How did you find us?"
"There was a lot of reports saying you might be here after two wolves were spotted exactly where you two had been in the Burning Hell," Bon Clay said. "Thankfully right now it looks like they're leaving you be. I bet they're hoping you'll start to tire out so they can capture you easier. They certainly don't think Straw-chan will make much of a fuss."
"Well I'm doing my best to make sure that he does," Law said.
"We should try get you two somewhere warmer so you can rest," Bon Clay said. "Ivankov must be able to save Straw-chan!"
"Well right now the cool air is keeping my head clear, so I'll take what I can get," Law sighed, lifting Luffy up on to his back properly. "You'll need to defend us, Bon Clay-ya."
It felt like hours since they began walking, and yet they still hadn't found shelter or this Ivankov guy. Law scowled, there were a pack of wolves on their trail too, now following after them.
"Bon Clay-ya, there are wolves coming," Law said. "Be prepared to fight."
"Right!"
Bon Clay was fighting them off as best as he could, but he was getting overwhelmed, and they were charging Law too. Law was forced to dodge as best as he could, but with Luffy slowly dying to poison on his back, it wasn't easy. Then, all of a sudden, Luffy leapt from his back and bit one of the wolves.
What the fuck?
"What do you think you're doing... to Bon-chan? Leave him alone!" Luffy ordered, and Law gasped at the wave of Conqueror's Haki that exploded from him, knocking out all the wolves.
"Rouge-ya did think you would have it," Law gasped, but caught Luffy when he collapsed again. "Dammit, you idiot, you were supposed to be resting-"
Bon Clay gasped. "Straw-chan? What did you..." His eyes fluttered. "What did you..."
He collapsed too, much to Law's horror. Law cursed, but swung Luffy over his shoulder, and shakily dragged Bon Clay up over his back.
"Fucking hell..." Law groaned. "I preferred it when I was the one passed out..."
He dragged them both forward slowly with heavy legs. Law could feel his fever coming back with a vengeance, but he ignored it in favour of pushing his healing magic back into Luffy again. There was still poison in his system. He was pretty much drowning in it, even before Luffy had tried to face the hydra crap dead on. Law's back ached, his arms felt heavy, but he ignored it all and pressed on. He got over a few slopes of snow, before he saw a brightly coloured figure heading his way.
"It is strange to see you here, Trafalgar Law."
Law raised a brow. "Ain't you one of Sabo-ya's friends? Inazuma?"
"You and your friends have been causing quite the riot. How about we go take care of them now? For putting on such a good show."
