Disclaimer: I don't own Digimon
The following day came swiftly, and Davis and his family savored another delightful breakfast in the Motomiya apartment. While he valued his mother's cooking, Davis couldn't shake off a specific event related to Kari Kamiya.
With a sigh and a distant, dreamy look, Davis couldn't shake the memory of the kiss he shared with Kari. It replayed in his mind long after they parted and even appeared in his dreams.
Reflecting on his night, Davis dreamed of only them together. He recalled strolling along the beach, holding Kari's hand as she displayed that warm, radiant smile he loved.
Although it was just a dream, Davis could feel her soft hand, see the warmth in her eyes, and sense the love they shared in their kiss.
Observing Davis daydreaming, Jun decided to wake him up and spoke up.
"Earth to Davis, it's time to wake up. Seriously, you're practically drooling on yourself," he said with amusement.
Davis was jolted from his daydream and noticed Jun and his parents watching him, flushing his face with embarrassment.
Tesuya, intrigued by his son's odd behavior and suspecting the reason behind it, gently inquired with a warm smile, "Is everything alright, Davis? Did anything exciting happen at school yesterday?"
"Nothing!" Davis exclaimed, his voice loud and his face marked by embarrassment.
"Are you certain?" Misako playfully asked, aware of the possible situation unfolding.
"Mom! It's nothing, okay?" the maroon-haired boy replied as he tried again to deflect.
Jun teased Davis with a widening grin, relishing the moment as always. "Aww, is it about one of your new girlfriends?"
While Davis's entire face turned beet red, his parents expressed further interest in their son's potential love life, especially concerning Misako, who squealed delightedly.
"Ahhh! My little boy has a girlfriend?" Misako inquired as she wrapped her arms firmly around the blushing boy.
"And more than one? You are a chip off the old block." Tetsuya said with pride.
Embarrassed between his mother smothering him and his father's faint boasting, Davis pulled himself away from Misako and told his parents in a firm tone. "No! I mean, it's nothing like that! Look, I just met them yesterday, and I'm not in any serious relationship here."
Knowing Davis had suffered but believing he hadn't suffered enough, Jun continued to push his sibling. "Are you sure about that? Which is your girlfriend, the odd girl with the glasses? Maybe that cute French girl? Or is she that little brunette who seemed to press herself against you all day long?"
Refusing to play along with Jun's teasing and deciding not to answer, Davis remained flustered at the mention of Kari, which confirmed Jun's suspicions.
"Oh, so it is the brunette?" Jun inquired with a sly smile about Davis' concerns.
Maintaining an interest in the topic, Tetsuya questioned. "And what is her name?"
"What's she like? Is she cute? Are we sure she's single? Do you know if she likes boys...? Of course, she would if she likes you!" Misako asked with a growing excitement, to Davis' growing embarrassment and frustrations.
"Please stop!" Davis all but begged.
Between the three-way interrogation, he couldn't handle any more embarrassment from his family.
After seeing their son's reaction, Tetsuya and Misako decided to back off and give Davis space until he felt comfortable discussing the subject.
Jun, however, remained delighted at every minute of Davis' suffering.
Sensing the unsaid tension between her children and changing the subject, Misako spoke up and told the pair. "Oh, I just remembered. We have some good news regarding the school. It seems Rumiko has invited us to her house as a way to say 'Welcome to Odaiba.'"
Although Davis wasn't expecting to hear this, he guessed an invitation to the Nonaka residence wouldn't be the worst thing to happen.
But certain Rika would be there, and the maroon-haired boy wasn't looking forward to spending an evening with the Digimon Queen.
Davis had nothing against her; he believed that Rika would remain stubborn and distant from his existence even if he behaved well.
"We leave at 7:00, so we expect you to be on your best behavior, " Tetsuya said, his tone reasonably reasonable.
"Understood, Dad." The Motomiya siblings said in shared replies.
After breakfast and arriving at school, Davis strolled through the hallways by himself. He remained self-conscious about his discussions with his family, often making him uncomfortable and challenging to handle.
He guessed Kari was elsewhere in the school but was also uncertain about her feelings. He hoped things hadn't gotten too bad since the previous incident.
Turning another corner as he approached his locker, Davis bumped into someone. The unintended crash caused both Davis and the individual to fall backward.
"Hey! Look where you're heading, gogglehead!" Davis recognized Rika's familiar anger before seeing the redhead glaring at him with notable hostility.
Despite feeling annoyed but recognizing Rika's perspective, Davis apologized, realizing that starting a conflict would be unwise.
"I'm sorry I didn't see you, " he said, pulling himself back to his feet and brushing himself off.
Shifting over to help Rika, Davis' interest fell upon the Digimon cards now scattered on the ground around Rika.
"Look what you did!" She frowned as she rummaged to scoop up her cards
Feeling guilty and striving to be compassionate, Davis knelt and offered his assistance in a gentle tone. "I'm sorry, Rika. Allow me to help."
Refusing Davis's assistance and scooping her cards faster, Rika said sternly, "I don't need your help to pick up my cards, kid."
Despite Rika's rude demeanor, Davis maintained his composure and focused on collecting the scattered Digimon cards. His polite behavior, however, seemed to have the opposite effect on Rika, who frowned as she observed his actions.
Davis examined the cards and was surprised by the rare collection Rika had amassed. Each card showcased her dedication to the hobby.
Being rich came in handy.
As Davis picked up several more cards, he noticed one last card at Rika's feet. He reached for it, but his hand met Rika's, as they both had gone for the same card.
Davis and Rika locked eyes briefly before Rika composed herself, retracting her hand and shooting another glare at the maroon-haired boy.
Rika warned, "Don't touch my hand, or I'll report you to the principal!"
Frustrated by Rika's behavior and ready to defend himself, Davis exclaimed, "Calm down, it was an accident!"
"Whatever," Rika dismissed with a scoff, sliding her Digimon cards back into their holster.
"I don't want to fight," Davis stated, attempting to maintain their harmony.
"You possess an incredible collection of Digimon cards," the maroon-haired boy remarked, and Rika merely huffed in response.
"Sure, whatever," she mumbled.
"I truly mean it; you must have every rare card ever printed." Davis continued, sharing his card set as he showcased his collection. "I possess a handful of rare cards too. I recently acquired this one over the summer."
Though Rika initially thought Davis's cards were worthless, her eyes widened in surprise when one captured her attention.
"Is that... ?" The Digimon Queen stammered, her voice brimming with astonishment.
"Mastemon? From the Limited Light and Darkness Merger set?"
For as long as she could remember, Rika had wanted to add that card to her collection, but because of her mother's job, she had missed out on what she believed to be the only release of said card.
"This is a limited-time secret rare card; only ten copies exist." To Davis's surprise, Rika showed interest in the Digimon card.
Even though he thought Rika's response was adorable, it didn't prevent him from bragging.
"Yep, I spent my entire allowance on this. I left my apartment to camp out and be first in line." said the maroon-haired boy, beaming with pride.
Hearing that, Rika recovered from her surprise before turning away with a slight blush.
Letting out a huff, crossing her arms, and composing herself, Rika returned to her familiar, distant mood.
"I'm not interested in that card whatsoever," she said.
Even though the redhead attempted to mask embarrassment, Davis noticed her interest in the Mastemon card.
Rika's sudden shift in attitude caught him off guard, but he found her attempt to act indifferent quite endearing.
With a cheeky smile and deciding to tease Rika a little, Davis couldn't help but ask. "Really? Cuz I could have sworn you were very interested in the card."
Waving the card closely to her face as if baiting her, Rika remained strong and glared at the maroon-haired boy.
"In your dreams." Rika then said, suppressing the faint blush on her face. "Anyway, just look out where you're going next time, or you'll be sorry."
To Rika's threat, Davis just chuckled.
He never imagined someone as tough as Rika had a cute side to herself, and Davis liked it.
Davis was about to leave, but thinking about what his parents had told him, he turned his attention back to Rika and said, "Oh, my parents told me we're going to your house tonight."
"Oh, goodie. We have guests." Rika muttered with sarcasm.
"By the way..." Davis then said, stopping himself as he then asked. "Have you seen Kari?"
Arching her eyebrow for a moment before answering, Rika told Davis in reply. "The last I saw her, Kari was heading to her locker. I don't know if it's interesting, but it seemed pretty peppy today."
After hearing Rika's words and hearing that Kari seemed in a good mood, Davis felt his heart racing.
To learn that Kari wasn't angry but that she enjoyed their unintended kiss continued to bring warmth to Davis' heart.
Giving the redhead one last way before leaving, Rika expelled another grunt.
While retaining her usual distance, Rika couldn't believe she had acted so weirdly in front of Davis, of all people. She couldn't help but feel embarrassed.
A faint blush lingered on her cheeks as she glanced at her hand, recalling the profound warmth in Davis's brown eyes.
Once more, shaking her head, Rika mutters, 'That foolish gogglehead.'
As Davis approached his locker, he halted when he noticed Yolei and Cody chatting with Kari, who seemed to ignore the situation entirely.
"Again, thank you for helping with my computer last night." Cody thanked Yolei.
"No problem," Yolei replied with a kind smile before turning to Kari.
Yolei observed Kari's unusual behavior and inquisitiveness, prompting her to ask, "Kari, you seem slightly off today. Did something happen to you?"
Cutely tilting her head in response to Yolei's inquiry, Kari questioned, "Oh?"
Davis couldn't help but laugh at Kari's adorable antics, knowing they stemmed from their kiss the day before.
Yolei nodded firmly at her friend, saying, "I've known you long enough to notice when something is wrong."
Kari laughed, knowing that Yolei would be determined once she decided. Luckily, she had finally noticed Davis.
"Davis!" she cheered happily. "Good morning."
Although glad to see Kari, the maroon-haired boy jumped back from the attention forced on him.
"Good morning, Kari," Davis said a little nervously. "Morning, Cody, Yolei."
Sensing something was up, Yolei leered at Davis, her glare leaving the maroon-haired boy further nervous.
Davis knew Yolei wasn't stupid and could piece things together, which left him with a further unease.
Keeping her gaze on the maroon-haired boy, Yolei spoke up. "Good morning, Davis. I trust you enjoyed your day yesterday."
"Umm, yeah, I did..." Davis replied with a somewhat calm tone. "Bumped into Rika on the way here."
"I bet she wasn't too happy," Yolei remarked.
Chuckling, Davis rubbed his head as he told his friends. "She kind of yelled and threatened me."
Having known the redhead for a while, Kari commented. "That does sound like Rika."
Although puzzled by Davis' strange behavior, Yolei frowned as she declared. "She shouldn't threaten another student. I think I might have a small talk with her."
Understanding Yolei's concerns, but knowing how RIka could be, Cody assured. "You don't need to do that."
"He's right. No harm, no foul." Davis added with a dismissive tone of voice.
Rika may have been rude, but he enjoyed her fiery personality.
Rika was a tough girl with a cute side to herself.
"Hmm, okay..." Yolei relented before the purple-haired girl told Davis and the others. "Anyway, I'll see you in class. I have to return my books to the library."
"And I have to meet my friend, Suzie," Cody added.
Giving a teasing grin toward Cody, which Davis recognized as the same kind of grin that Jun often gave him, Davis knew Yolei wanted to tease the younger boy.
"Oh? That little ball of energy? Does Henry know you two are hanging out more and more lately?" Yolei asked with a grin.
Cody's face turned bright red toward Yolei's words before he told her. "Yolei, Suzie, and I are merely friends. That's why I asked if you could fix my computer yesterday so we could do our assignment."
Understanding the young boy's embarrassment, Davis felt some empathy toward Cody.
Cody and Yolei appeared to have a sibling relationship, but a healthier one than his and Jun's.
He could see that the class president was more than a stuffy rule follower; she had a silly side.
"Cody?" A new voice then called out, earning the attention of the brunette.
Cody, Davis, and the others took notice of a girl who looked to be the same age as Cody.
As her attire consisted of the female student uniform issued, the girl had purple hair tied in two pigtails.
"Hey, Suzie." Cody greeted as a kind smile graced his face. "I was just on my way to meet you."
Suzie smiled at Cody and his kindness before she told him. "That's nice to hear, but I decided to come and see you. We still have much to discuss with our assignment and little time to work on it."
Although passionate about their project, Suzie then took notice of Davis.
"Oh, you're the new student. I remember seeing you at lunch." She remarked.
Davis didn't remember seeing Suzie, guessing she must've sat elsewhere during the time, but reflected in her expressed kindness.
"It's nice to meet you. My name is Daisuke Motomiya, but my friends call me Davis." Davis told Suzie, who remained joyous, bowed, and replied, "My name is Suzie Wong. It is very nice to meet you, Davis."
Showing her kindness and respect toward Suzie, Yolei spoke up and told the maroon-haired boy. "Suzie's pretty smart. She's a member of the computer club along with Cody and myself."
Glad to see the bond shared between the girls, but deciding to have a tiny bit of fun with Yolei, Davis commented. "Oh, so you can be kind to people? I just thought you were a nagging nerd."
Ignoring Davis' crude words and the glare Yolei sent his way, Suzie puffed up her chest and said with pride in her tone. "My father taught me everything I know. He's a brilliant programmer."
Davis remained impressed by Suzie's knowledge but changed the subject and asked, "Speaking of clubs, is there any chance I can join some? I was thinking about joining the Digimon club or even the culinary club."
Showing herself to be a kinder person, Yolei smiled and said, "I could give you the tour if you want."
"That would be nice." Davis smiled before turning to Kari. "But Kari promised me she would show me around."
Yolei deflated slightly but nodded in understanding.
Kari, however, gave him a bit of a sad expression. "Sorry, Davis, but I have a meeting with the other cheerleaders, so I won't be able to do so."
Davis was slightly disappointed that Kari couldn't show him around. However, he turned to Yolei and said, "I guess you can. "
Yolei smiled at him. "I'd be happy to."
Enjoying the conversation herself but knowing she had responsibilities to tend to, Yolei bowed her head and said, in a polite tone, "Anyway, I'll see you later."
"We should leave as well," Cody suggested as he looked over at Suzie, who nodded silently and understanding. "Again, it was nice to meet you, Davis. And Kari, have a good day."
With Yolei's departure, Cody, Suzie Davis, and Kari found themselves alone in the hall, and a sense of shared awkwardness enveloped them.
Working up the courage, Davis finally spoke up.
"So… about yesterday." He began to say, his words causing Kari to blush lightly.
"Yeah, I told you it was alright..." Kari assured, only with a softer tone of voice.
"Yeah, I know," Davis replied, only to sheepishly rub the back of his head and then say. "It's just... I took your first kiss without your permission and…"
While trying to express his emotions, Davis didn't know what to say.
Kissing Kari felt so right and so wrong at the same time.
It wasn't like he had forced himself on her; it was an accident. Davis remained with some worry.
Kari cut in as she said, looking at Davis with kind and understanding eyes. "Davis, I know you aren't a bad person, and you wouldn't force yourself on me, so there's no need to feel bad."
Davis let out a sigh of relief as if feeling a great weight lifted from off his shoulders.
However, Davis moved closer to Kari and whispered, "Thanks. Can we keep this a secret? I don't want to get in trouble with the school or your brother about this."
Giggling, Kari slid her fingers along her lips and replied with a cute but cheeky smile. "I won't tell a soul, Dai-Kun."
Davis blushed slightly toward the nickname before letting out a small chuckle.
They chuckled as they walked to their class, and unknown to them, Yolei had returned and listened in on their conversation.
Yolei's hardening expression said, "I knew something was on. Did Kari and Davis share skin contact? The only question remains: What do I do with this information?"
The school had ended, with most students heading home for school except for a few. Kari was supposed to show him around the clubs a few hours later but had to join the cheerleaders for their club meeting instead.
Yolei then offered to give Davis a tour. Though Davis hesitated at first, he eventually agreed.
Yolei took Davis on an engaging tour of the school's clubs, showcasing the incredible variety. As they explored, Davis was struck by each group's diverse opportunities, from creative arts to robotics and community service. The students' enthusiasm was palpable, and the vibrant energy surrounding them made it clear how much they loved their activities.
As Yolei walked beside him, Davis leaned in with genuine curiosity. "Yolei, I'm curious: how many clubs does this school have?"
"There's all kinds of stuff like music, art, cheerleading, a paranormal club, and more," Yolei said with a friendly smile, catching Davis off guard and making him curious.
While listening to everything Yolei had to say, the maroon-haired boy noticed that she occasionally stared at him as if she wanted to ask a question that was bothering her.
Yolei abruptly stopped, her gaze boring into Davis with a newfound seriousness. She knew it was time to speak up, and the gravity of her expression made it clear that her words would demand his full attention.
"I know what happened," she said, surprising Davis, the maroon-haired boy.
Recovering from his shock and trying to compose himself, Davis asked Yolei, "And what exactly do you know about?"
"Look, Motomiya, I'm not dumb. I heard you and Kari talk about your little kiss." Yolei said in reply to Davis' growing concerns.
"Yolei, let me explain. I didn't mean to do anything to Kari." The maroon-haired boy said as he explained the incident to Yolei, who listened carefully to what Davis told her.
Considering all Davis had said about his accidental kiss with Kari, Yolei said nothing, leaving the maroon-haired boy nervous and wondering what Yolei would do.
Expelling a soft sigh, Yolei then told Davis with a reassuring tone. "Relax, I'm not going to tell anyone."
Taking aback by the purple-haired girl's words, Davis couldn't help but feel perplexed.
"Listen, I'm not so cutthroat that I would report you without hearing your story. I've known Kari for a while, and I know she's a good judge of character." Yolei explained with a growing kindness within her tone and facial expression, to Davis' relief.
Despite her stuffy nature, Davis now knew Yolei was a sensible person.
Playing with Davis and teasing, Yolei then said with a grin. "I won't tell anyone, but don't let it happen again."
"Yes, ma'am," Davis replied with a soft chuckle, which Yolei found amusing.
Once the awkwardness had cleared up, Davis and Yolei felt a closeness, and they continued their way through the school's hallways and the various clubs available.
While enjoying the time bonding, the sight of a large crowd drew Davis and Yolei's attention.
Approaching the group, Davis and Yolei noticed various students gathered around one student, asking many questions.
"Please, can you sign my shirt?" A male student asked.
"We love all your songs." Two female students said with a shared excitement.
"Can I please have your autograph?" Another male student questioned.
Davis focused on the crowd; the gogglehead thought they were talking to Matt for his musical talents, but he was surprised to recognize the feminine tone in his voice.
"Hey, hey! Give me some room to breathe." The voice said from within the crowd.
Realizing the hazards of such a large grouping, Yolei decided to intervene.
"All right, that's enough!" She said, her voice raised and authoritative. "Whatever you're doing, it's over. Get out of here, or I'll report you to the principal's office."
At her words and knowing Yolei wasn't one to mess with, the crowd immediately dispersed, much to the annoyance of many students.
With the group dying down and the female student now able to stand, Davis got a better look at the person, which left him astonished.
The female student had long brown hair tied in twin tails, shimmering purple eyes, and held great beauty within her appearance.
Glad to see the crowd no longer around, the girl sighed in relief before walking to Yolei.
"Thanks. Being a pop star at this school isn't easy at all." She commented before Yolei replied. "It was the least I could do, Nene. They were acting like savages."
From his position, Davis remained in shock as he continued to look upon Nene.
Eventually finding his voice, Davis stammered with awe. "You... you're Nene, the Nene..."
Davis couldn't believe it.
He stood before Nene Amano, one of the greatest pop stars.
Meanwhile, Yolei sighed from her position as she had a fair guess that Davis was a fan.
Yolei let out a sigh, "Here we go."
Managing to speak again, Davis then said. "Hey there... my name is Davis Motomiya..."
Turning her focus to Davis and seeing the sweetness in his expression, Nene remained upbeat as she replied. "It's very nice to meet you, Davis."
"Nene, I'm a huge fan," Davis said with further nervousness in his tone, which caused Yolei to say under her breath. "And so is almost everyone in the school."
Ignoring Yolei's comment, Davis continued as he told Nene. "I know your favorite songs are Shooting Star and Heart Wave. I heard you started your career doing small internet videos before entering a singing contest, which ended with you winning and offering your contract to be an idol. That's pretty impressive."
Nene smiled, amused at Davis' words and his knowledge of her. "Well, you are well informed. Shooting Star and Heart Wave are my personal favorites of my songs."
Although enjoying the chance to chat with Nene, Davis showed himself as a fan by withdrawing a small book from his pocket or backpack and asking, " Do you think I can have an autograph?"
While Yolei rolled her eyes, bothered to see Davis was just another drooling fan, Nene smiled as she withdrew a pen from her backpack.
"For a fan like you, of course." The brunette said happily.
Signing her name upon the blank page within Davis's notebook, Nene remained with a smile at the way Davis grinned happily.
With their interaction over and speaking up, Yolei turned to Nene as she asked. "I didn't see you yesterday. Busy with another photoshoot?"
With a small sigh, Nene nodded and told Yolei and Davis, "Yep, the life of an idol isn't easy. I'm lucky I finally got a little time off."
From how Nene seemed somewhat stressed from her duties, Davis guessed being a well-known idol wasn't as glamorous as he first thought.
'I guess being an idol is more stressful than I thought.' He mentally commented.
Chatting a little longer with Davis and Yolei, but taking notice of the time, Nene apologized: "I'm sorry, but I have to run. It was nice meeting you, Davis. I hope we can be good friends."
Davis waved the famous idol off and smiled, hoping he and Nene would cross paths again.
Looking over Davis's continued grin and wave, Yolei rolled her eyes at his antics, noting that he was practically drooling over Nene.
"Alright, lover boy. Let's continue the tour, " she said, her tone firm and somewhat annoyed.
Davis, showing his annoyance at Yolei's attitude, wanted to snap back at the purple-haired girl, but he knew starting an argument with Yolei would not end well for him.
Sighing as he recomposed his emotions, Davis nodded and allowed Yolei to lead him along her tour. Eventually, they entered the homeroom, where the maroon-haired boy noticed several students preparing various meals, snacks, and treats for one another.
"And this is the culinary classroom; as you already know, this is where students learn to cook," Yolei informed.
Davis nodded in reply as you continued to look around.
He wondered if he would have a chance to cook with any of the utensils in the room, but looking amongst the students, he recognized a familiar blonde-haired figure.
His face drooping slightly, Davis immediately thought with a soft sense of dread. 'Zoe…'
Overlooking Davis and busy with her cooking project, Zoe focused solely on the details of a special dish, which intrigued other students.
Gathering around the blonde, the other students praised him as he showed off a dessert that Davis knew too well: Zoe's strawberry cake.
Thinking back, Davis remembered how Zoe gave him a slice back at their old school, and it was one of the most delicious foods he ever had.
Although enjoying the praise of his classmates, Zoe then took notice of Davis and Yolei, which soured her upbeat mood.
Trying to remain friendly, Davis said with a soft nervousness. "Oh, hey, Zoe. I see you're also in the culinary class."
Zoe replied, taking a small breath and relaxing. "Yes, and I'm guessing you want to join the club?"
Having known Davis and knowing his dream was being a chief, Zoe had a fair guess Davis would eventually have joined the culinary club.
"Yep, and your strawberry cake smells as good as ever," Davis replied, his words causing Zoe to smile softly and him to speak with firm modesty. Thank you for the compliment."
As Davis and Zoe show a soft kindness toward one another, Yolei decides to help herself by giving herself a slice of Zoe's cake.
Reaching out with her right hand, Yolei recoiled after the blonde slapped her hand away.
From his position, as Zoe glared at Yolei sternly, Davis was reminded of the first time he tried to take a bite of her dessert. The blonde smacked his hand similarly, telling him not to reach out and not to take her food rudely.
"I just took this out, Yolei. Try waiting until it cools down," Zoe said, waggling his finger back and forth to Yolei's annoyance.
Shaking and rubbing her hand, Yolei said back. "Jeez, there was no need to smack my hand."
"Some things don't change, do they, Zoe?" Davis questioned with a soft chuckle before his mood changed as Zoe stared at him and said. "And I hope your table manners have improved since I last saw you."
"Hey! My table manners aren't that bad." Davis said defensively in reply.
Curious and wishing to join in on teasing the maroon-haired boy, Yolei questioned. "Just how bad were his table manners?"
"Davis had the table matters of a grizzly bear," Zoe replied with a growing smile.
That got Yolei to giggle, to which Zoe and the rest of the class also chuckled at Davis, whose eye twitched from being treated as the butt of a joke.
Although annoyed toward Zoe and Yolei's antics, Davis changed the subject.
"Zoe, I would like to join the culinary. is there a way I can join?" He questioned.
Zoe then stopped the laughter between Yolei and himself. "You can join, but I need to speak with the head of the club before we finalize anything."
"Thanks, Zoe. I owe you one." Davis said in reply.
To Davis' words, Zoe gave him another look and merely said with a soft resentment. "...Yeah, I know."
Davis felt saddened to learn that Zoe had not forgiven him for his past actions, and he remained unsure whether he ever would.
Davis looked at his watch and saw that he had to get home to prepare to go over to Rika's house for dinner.
"I'm Sorry, you too, but I have to go. I'll see you both later," Davis said, waving to them as he left the room.
Zoe sighed, and Yolei noticed the blonde was bothered. "Are you okay? You're still angry with him, are you?"
"I am; I just never thought I would see him again, that's all," Zoe said, deciding to continue with his cooking.
