Mike: Which Digimon will it be next time?
As Lucas' party moved through the maze-like Canyon, Ultimate Digimon Okuwamon, leading a swarm of Kuwagamon was lying in wait to ambush them.
Mike couldn't understand why his tablet wouldn't work properly and became disheartened.
But after a pep talk from Kabuterimon, he was back to himself.
Mike turned the tables on their attackers using only his own ideas and ingenuity, which gave them the opening they needed.
Inspired by Mike's resolve, Kabuterimon Digivolved into MegaKabuterimon and successfully defeated Okuwamon.
-Snow Mountain, Cloud Continent, Digital World-
Above the snowy mountain, Birdramon came flying where her passengers were standing on her feet, which was holding on to a log that Gomamon and James were sitting on.
Hiccup: That mountain sure brings back memories when we were Dragon Sliding.
Astrid smiled at him as she remembered those fun times.
Vixen: There might be a good spot to land around here! What do you think, Birdramon?
Birdramon: Sounds good!
Birdramon descended and landed on a rocky platform that's next to a rock pillar. She DeDigivolved back into an exhausted Biyomon.
Biyomon: Ah…! I need to rest for a bit…
Agumon: Flying sure must be exhausting.
Biyomon: I've gotten a little better at flying when I met Vixen.
Vixen kneeled down and checked on Biyomon.
Vixen: But you did fly all of us the whole way here. We appreciate it, Biyomon.
Meanwhile, James was recovering from another dose of air sickness as Gomamon patted him on the back to comfort him.
Violet: You're still airsick?
James: Seems so…
James: Are we finally back on land?
Gomamon: You're a real Trooper, James. Thanks for hanging in there!
Snotlout: Yeah. Look how great he is! Ow!
Snotlout was punched in the arm by Astrid for mocking him.
Kyle was currently checking the map on his Digivice.
Kyle: The rendezvous point with Lucas' group shouldn't be too far from our location.
Vixen checked the surroundings up ahead with her Binoculars.
Vixen: I don't know if we can walk there.
Through her Binoculars, Vixen saw a few small mountains up ahead with trees, as well as a large river separating them from the other side of the land.
Summer: That's a big river.
Vixen: For one; there's a huge river in our way, and I don't think we'll be able to swim across it.
Gabumon: That's where our Digibuddy Gomamon comes in!
Gomamon: You betcha! That river is nothing!
Kyle: But first we have to cross this mountain.
Gabumon: Right! I should be able to handle that!
Vixen: That's perfect. This way you'll be able to rest, Biyomon.
Biyomon felt relieved to hear that.
Biyomon: Once we cross the river I'll be able to fly us the rest of the way.
Raya: Those kids are good at planning even though they're still young.
Behind them, James was hearing all the planning they're making, and he felt a little disheartened.
Gomamon: They say my turns 'coming up.
James: That means we're crossing the river then. I guess that's okay… Those two are doing all the strategizing for our group now.
Hearing his disheartened tone, Gomamon put a paw of comfort on his shoulder.
Gomamon: All you gotta do is sit around and look important while they do all the work!
Hearing that, James felt relieved as he straightened himself and puffed his chest with his fists on his hips.
James: I see… Then as the leader I'll be supervising!
Gomamon: Yeah! That's it!
Tuffnut: He! He's just like you, Snotlout!
Snotlout: What?
BOOM!
Gomamon and James: Huh?!
Everybody looked around and saw a wind slab had started up.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
Gabumon: Huh? What's that noise?
Cutter: What is that noise?
Burple: Is it an earthquake?
Dak: No. I don't think so.
As if on cue, a huge brown furred Mammoth Digimon with gray skin underneath came out of the wind slab. It has ragged feather-like ears, upward tusks that have an exposed skin while the other was covered in metal, and a metal faceplate that goes all the way down on the upper side of his trunk and has a Cyclopean eye yellow marking on it.
Standing by his sides were two humanoid Bear-like Digimon made of snow with red, round buttons on its chest. It has black eyes and a Coal that resembles a nose.
These Digimon confronted the kids as the Mammoth Digimon towered over them.
James: WHAAAAHAA!
Fishlegs: Oh man… That's definitely another Ultimate Digimon!
Episode 17: Zudomon's Iron Hammer of Lightning
Summer: He's huge! Just like Gludge!
James: What is that thing?! It's terrifying!
Gomamon: That's an Ultimate Digimon! Mammothmon!
Mammothmon: (Trumping Noise)...!
Black Miasma came out of Mammothmon's trunk.
Lujanne: He's infected by the Black Miasma!
Gabumon: And those are Frigimon next to it!
Grumblegard: Huh? They look harmless by the looks of them.
Mammothmon began marching towards the kids.
Kyle: Here it comes!
Mammothmon suddenly leaped into the air, right over them!
Cutter: That guy can jump very high!
Kyle: Watch out everyone!
Everybody ran away as Mammothmon landed, nearly being blown away by the force of the landing.
Vixen stopped as a Frigimon stood in front of her.
Biyomon: Vixen!
Biyomon tried to fire her Spiral Twister, but another Frigimon snuck behind her and punched her back into the snowy ground.
Gon: Those snowballs can fight!
Biyomon: Aah!
Vixen: Biyomon!
Vixen ran towards Biyomon, but the Frigimon next to her attacked her with an icy white digital beam from its fist. Vixen grabbed Biyomon and jumped away before the attack hit them both… but it grazed her leg instead.
Vixen: Aaaah!
Everyone became worried when they saw Vixen get hit.
Vixen fell on the ground next to another Frigimon and Biyomon checked on her worriedly as James came.
James: Are you okay?!
Biyomon: Hang on!
Vixen held her thigh as it was covered in ice.
Astrid: Oh no!
Zephyr: They can fire an ice attack from their fist?!
Gomamon: Marching Fishes!
Gomamon summoned his colorful Fish army as they swam through Frigimon, but the attack didn't even make it flinch.
Snotlout: Why isn't that attack doing much to them like it did with me and Hookfang?!
Vixen: Urgh! What happened…?
Biyomon: Vixen!
The ice on Vixen's thigh seems to be spreading as the hand that was holding it became covered in eyes.
Sisu: It's spreading!
Vixen: Why is it spreading…?
Kyle: Break that ice!
Gabumon quickly moved as the ice started to climb over Vixen's arm. He slashed with his claw and shattered the ice, but Vixen was still in trouble as her thigh was glowing blue and digital, putting her in a lot of pain.
Ibis: The coldness of the ice must still be affecting her!
Gabumon: It's still there!
Biyomon: Hang in there!
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
Everybody gasped at the loud roar.
James: Now what is it?!
Mammothmon raised his foot and began stomping repeatedly, causing everything to shake.
Agumon: What is he doing?
Lucas: I don't like it…
James: He's up to something!
Kyle then realised as he looked up the mountain. Huge amount of snow was starting to get loose and was coming down the mountain straight at them.
Nuffink: Dad. Is that…?
Hiccup: It is!
James: IT'S AN AVALANCHE!
The avalanche was coming down hard and Kyle and Gabumon started to run, but not before Kyle held his Digivice and it started to glow.
Kyle: Gabumon!
Gabumon started to Digivolve right when the avalanche reached them.
James: WE'RE NOT GONNA MAKE IT IN TI…
James' shout was stopped when the avalanche came down on everybody.
James: Please tell me that we make it!
-Rocky Terrain, Cloud Continent, Digital World-
Walking on a large rocky path on a large rocky terrain that's heated by the bright Digital Sun, Lucas' group looked around at the place in awe.
Lucas: Wooow! This place is crazy! Look how giant it is!
Agumon: Seems like a whole lot of nothing.
Snotlout: Yeah. Nothing but heat and rocks.
Kudamon: That's not what he meant, Agumon.
Violet: Anyway, which way do you think we should go from here, Mike?
Mike took his eyes off his tablet to look at Violet and Lucas.
Mike: I'm looking that up now! Seems like…
Sarah: AAAAAAAHHAAH!
James: Oh no! You guys got attacked as well?!
Everybody jumped at Sarah's voice and turned around to see an odd sight.
Coming towards them was a herd of wingless, flightless avians with a brown, furry body. It also has leaves around its neck, referencing the plant and fruit. It wears a large mask that covers its face, which is fitted with a long beak like that of the bird… and Sarah was currently riding the one that's in the lead.
Tentomon: Um… What's she doing?
Sarah held on tight on the Digimon, while wrapped around were Palmon's vines as she seemed to be trying to it, but was dragged instead.
Sarah: GET ME OFF OF THIS THING!
Palmon: AAAAH! GUYS, SLOW THEM DOWN!
Burple: Huh? She looks she's having a lot of fun!
The Rescue Riders gave Burple a "really" look.
Everyone gasped as the herd was heading straight at them!
Everyone: HUH?!
Tentomon: IT'S A KIWIMON STAMPEDE!
Agumon: WHY IS SHE RIDING ONE?!
Everybody started running away from them as fast as they could.
Sarah: THEY WERE JUST SO CUTE I COULDN'T HELP IT, OKAY?!
Palmon: IT'S NO USE! I CAN'T GET THEM TO STOP!
Vixen: Really, Sarah?
As they were running, Mike was looking at the map on his tablet.
Mike: On the bright side, we're actually heading the right way!
Everyone: THAT'S NOT IMPORTANT RIGHT NOOOOOOW!
Tuffnut: Reading stuff during danger, that's something Hiccup would do.
Hiccup and Astrid gave Tuffnut a "really" look?
-Snow Mountain, Cloud Continent, Digital World-
Back at the snowy mountain, the avalanche seemed to have stopped. Up ahead is what seemed to be a trail that's heading towards the forest.
James: Did we make it?
Kyle's group, along with Garurumon, were hiding in the trees, having escaped the avalanche.
Kyle: Looks like we've managed to lose them.
Gomamon: Looks like we did make it, James.
James: I thought we were goners! We owe you one for sure, Garurumon!
It was thanks to Garurumon that they managed to escape the avalanche as everybody rode on his back.
Garurumon: My pleasure! However…
Biyomon: Vixen…
Everybody looked at Vixen, who was sitting on a tree looking very weakened as the digital looking frostbite was spreading from her right thigh and climbing up her torso.
Violet: Is that some kind of… frostbite?
Kudamon: I'm afraid it is, Violet.
Gomamon: It looks like the ice on her leg from Frigimon's attack is still there.
James: Is it just me or is it spreading?!
Gomamon: We need to get her out of this cold environment or it's just going to keep escalating!
James: So it's like… an Ice Virus?
James looked at Vixen's leg worriedly as it was shaking from the cold.
Gomamon: Yeah! So we need to hurry and find a way to melt it!
Vixen opened eyes as she tried to give everyone a reassuring smile.
Vixen: Oh, don't worry about me…! This is nothing! AAH!
Vixen tried to stand back up, but the ice-cold pain was too much, and she fell back.
Biyomon was in tears at seeing Vixen suffer as she held her leg.
Ibis: I'm afraid that she can't walk on that leg, even if she has enough strenght.
Biyomon: You poor thing! My fire… I can melt it!
Hiccup: Bad idea.
Garurumon: Biyomon.
Biyomon: Huh?
Biyomon turned to Garurumon, who looked gently at her.
Garurumon: Don't be rash. That will only injure Vixen more.
Kyle: Even making a fire to warm her up would be risky here. We'll carry her on Garurumon to the bottom of the mountain.
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
Everyone became on guard when they heard Mammothmon's roar.
He was sliding down the mountain, along with a couple more Frigimon, as they searched for the Digidestined.
Callum: That Digimon is still looking for them.
Rayla: And he brought a few more Frigimon to help him.
James: There are more of those Frigimon!
James, Gomamon, and Kyle were hiding behind the trees as they watched the enemy searching for them.
Gomamon: I bet they think we were swallowed up by that avalanche and are trying to find us!
Kyle: You may be right. Someone needs to draw them away. Think you can do it?
He turned to James and Gomamon, which the Digimon saluted him.
Tuffnut: Hold on, they're turning to that guy?!
Ruffnut: 'Sure it's a good idea?
Gomamon: You betcha! Just leave it to us!
Fishlegs: He sure thinks so.
James: WHAAAA?!
James couldn't believe that he and Gomamon are going to draw Mammothmon's attention, along with his army of Frigimon.
James felt unsure about this, until he looked back at the suffering and freezing girl that's being watched by Biyomon and Garurumon.
Seeing that, James made up his mind.
James: We can do it! Right, Gomamon?
Gomamon was very happy to hear that and nodded happily.
Raya: It's risky, but it's the only way to bring her to safety.
The four Frigimon were looking around, searching for the Digidestined, until a snowball hit one of the Frigimon's on the head, making it upset as it gained a thicked mark on its head and glared at the one who threw that snowball… it was James.
James: Over here you big jerk! Catch me if you can!
Ruffnut: Hah! Good one! Although I can give a much better insult than that!
Tuffnut: Sorry, sis, but I'm an expert in throwing insults!
Oragonking: Please, no fighting!
James quickly turned around and started running away, with Frigimon chasing behind him.
James: AAAAAH!
Boun: You know, it does look a little funny if you're being chased by a walking snowball.
James kept running until he jumped off a cliff… and landed straight on Ikkakumon's head as he waited for him.
James: Go, Ikkakumon!
Ikkakumon: On it!
Ikkakumon started to move while James held on to his horn, the Frigimon jumped off the cliff and started chasing after them as they all slid down the mountain.
Aggro: Really? They know how to slide too?
James: It's working! They're following us!
Ikkakumon: And there's more coming from the left!
It was true as more Frigimon joined in the chase.
James: Perfect! That means all the Frigimon are here, right? Except… for Mammothmon… (Gasps)...!
Just as he said that, James noticed that Mammothmon himself was sliding in the front.
Cutter: And the big guy can also do it as well.
James: There he is!
Ikkakumon: Ready, James?
James gulped as he was still scared, but knew they had to do this.
James: Let's do it!
Ikkakumon: Harpoon Torpedo!
Ikkakumon fired a torpedo from his horn and striked right on Mammothmon's rear. The Ultimate Digimon didn't flinch, but he did feel the attack as he turned his head to them.
Winger: That didn't even hurt him!
Summer: But it did get his attention.
James: Alright! Now hit 'em again!
Ikkakumon: You got it!
Ikkakumon fired more missiles as he accelerated. The missiles landed around Mammothmon, distracting him as Ikkakumon managed to pass him while he was distracted.
Mammothmon: (Angry roar)...!
Mammothmon became angry as his Cyclop eye mark glowed bright purple.
Callum: Okay, that's enough to tell that he's angry.
James: Here they come! Hello! Can you guys hear me?! This is James!
James held his Digivice as he called to the others while keeping his sight on Mammothmon.
James: It really worked! We managed to lure them away! But…
Inside a part of the forest, Kyle was listening on his Digivice while sitting Garurumon with Biyomon and Vixen.
James: I don't know how much longer we can keep him busy! He's gaining on us!
Kyle: Understood. We'll make a run for it now! Let's get going, Garurumon!
Garurumon: Gotcha!
Garurumon began running.
Corvus: Looks like they're ready to bring her to safety.
Back with James and Ikkakumon, they were trying to keep themselves far away from Mammothmon and the Frigimon, but they were still after their tail as they were getting a little bit closer towards the big river.
Ikkakumon: You think we should head towards the river?
James: Yeah! Since everyone else is going upstream, we can go downstream to lure them even further away!
Ikkakumon: Good thinking!
Zephyr: That sounds like a good plan.
Ikkakumon moved to his left as the enemy followed.
Ikkakumon: Hold on tight, James!
James: Huh?
Ikkakumon suddenly jumped… right above a large crevice.
Soren: I did not see that one coming!
James: AAAAAAAAHH! NOT A CREVICE!
Ikakkumon landed on the other side as they watched some of Frigimon fall into the crevice.
Alvin: He can sure jump for a big guy!
James: Hah! Take that you yerks!
Mammothmon then came in… and jumped over the crevice.
Dagur: Really?! That big guy can jump as well?!
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
James and Ikkakumon: RUUUUUUUUUUUN!
Both James and Ikkakumon ran away in shock as Mammothmon landed, roaring as his eye shone purple.
Fishlegs: He looks angrier than before!
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
He then resumed chasing after a screaming James and Ikkakumon.
James: AAAAAAAAAHH! THIS WHOLE MISSION IS IMPOSSIBLE!
Kudamon: James, you have to stay positive.
James: Who can stay positive from that?!
-Rocky Terrain, Cloud Continent, Digital World-
Back at the rocky terrain, the Kiwimon were still running around as they passed a cave… which Lucas' group were hiding as the boy and Agumon watched the Kiwimon herd.
Lucas: Well looks like we've managed to lose them.
Agumon: Yeah.
Lucas turned towards Mike, Tentomon, Sarah, Palmon, Violet and Kudamon. The boy was still looking at his tablet while Violet comforted an exhausted Sarah.
Rayla: That must have been exhausting for them.
Callum: And is Mike still watching his tablet?
Lucas: The coast is clear now!
Sarah: Uh… That was seriously awful!
Palmon: Promise me the next time you see a cute Digimon, you give me a heads up before hopping on?
Sarah: Fine…
Suddenly, Violet's hair swayed to her left which she noticed.
Violet: Huh?
Zephyr: Oh! I know that! If there's wind, that means there's an exit on the other side of the cave!
Hiccup smiled proudly at his daughter.
Kudamon: What's the matter, Violet?
Everyone turned to Violet, who stood up as she looked down at the cave.
Violet: I felt a breeze from the other side of the cave just now.
Tentomon: You did?
Everybody both looked at the cave ahead.
Mike: If wind is able to pass through this cave, that means… there must be another entrance on the other side of it!
Lucas and Agumon moved in front as they looked at the dark cave.
Sarah: You think it leads on the other side of the mountain?
With that in mind, Lucas was the first to jump in.
Biyomon: What's on the other side? I wonder…
-Snow Mountain, Cloud Continent, Digital World-
Back with James and Ikkakumon, they were still being chased by the enemy as they continued to slide down the mountain while passing the trees.
James: AAAAAH! CAN'T YOU SLIDE ANY FASTER THAN THIS?!
Ikkakumon: I can't! There are too many trees!
Astrid: Yep. The number one rule for sledding.
Mammothmon and the Frigimon were gaining on them, which James noticed.
James: They're gaining on us, Ikkakumon! We've come down pretty far! You gotta be able to see the river, right?!
Ikkakumon: I can't see it yet! But you just hold on, James!
Ezran: Oooh… When will they reach the river and go to safety?
Zym: (Whines)...
Both Ezran and Zym were anxious.
James wasn't very thrilled to hear that.
James: We're doomed! They're gonna catch us!
Ruffnut: Totally doomed!
Far away from them, Garurumon continued running down the mountain as Kyle looked behind him, where Biyomon was hugging a still weakened Vixen to warm her up.
Lucas: At least you guys are bringing her to safety.
Kyle knew that they had to hurry up.
Meanwhile, the Frigimon were gaining on James and Ikkakumon as some slid up higher ground right above them.
James: One's coming at us from the high ground! WATCH OUT!
Ikkakumon moved to his right just when Frigimon came down. They then took another path and quickly split off from the Frigimon. But Mammothmon was still after them, at least from a far distance.
Boun: They lost the Frigimon. Now they have to deal with the big guy.
Raya: But the trees are slowing him down, just like it did with them.
Sisu: Looks like they're home free!
James: Look how much distance we've got! They can't keep with us anymore!
It's true as the trees were slowing Mammothmon just like they did with Ikkakumon.
Ikkakumon: JAMES! HANG ON!
James looked confused, until Ikkakumon suddenly turned to his side to stop sliding, before they could fall over a tall cliff next to a frozen waterfall.
James: YHAAAAAAAAHAAAAA!
Both James and Ikkakumon looked down as they were nearly close to the edge.
Ikkakumon: That was close!
STOMP!
James and Ikkakumon: Huh?
James and Ikkakumon looked behind them, and saw to their dismay that Mammothmon and the Frigimon now had them surrounded.
Raya: Don't tell me…
Namaari: They were herding them.
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
Seeing that they're surrounded with no way out, James just realised how they got in this tight spot.
James: So they were just herding us here the whole time?!
Ikkakumon: Well… What do we do now, James?
Burple: They can jump.
Aggro: Not from that high, Burple.
James: Don't ask me that! I'm not in charge of coming up with the plans!
Tuffnut: Just like Snotlout!
The siblings laughed as Snotlout glared at them.
Mammothmon was coming closer towards them, and James closed his eyes.
James: It's no use! How are we supposed to win against a Digimon that big?!
Janai: He has to fight smart if he wants to stand against a huge foe.
Ikkakumon, however, remained calm as he turned to James.
Ikkakumon: Remember what's at stake if we lose! Remember our role here!
Hearing that, James remembered they needed to protect Vixen as Garurumon was currently jumping over rocks to cross the river.
James: That's right! Our role is to distract these guys long enough to get Vixen to safety!
Dax: Looks like he got his confidence back!
Ikkakumon: You got it! So let's go! Let's play our part and do what we need to do!
Inspired by those words, James determinedly looked back at the approaching Mammothmon.
James: Alright… We just have to stop them here. Stop… stop…
James looked at the cracks on Mammothmon's feet, and suddenly he got an idea as he recalled the tall cliff they're currently standing on and Mammothmon's steps.
Hiccup: Is he going to…?
James: I know what to do! Ikkakumon! Aim for that spot! That's where Mammothmon's going to step next!
James towards the spot where Mammothmon's foot is coming down.
Ikkakumon: Roger that!
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
Mammothmon foot was just about to come down and that's when they took their chance.
James: Now fire!
Ikkakumon fired a Harpoon torpedo on the floor Mammothmon was about to step on. The missile hits and creates a crack that when Mammothmon stepped on, the floor shattered and the Ultimate Digimon sank into the broken ground.
Mammothmon: (Confused roar)...?!
James and Ikkakumon: It worked!
Astrid: That is something you and Toothless would obviously come up with.
Toothless grinned at Hiccup as he agreed with her.
The two were ecstatic that the tactic worked… until the cracks spread towards them.
James and Ikkakumon: Huh?
Everyone: Huh?!
James: Wait a second! Now what's happening?!
A piece of the rocky floor broke from the cliff… with James and Ikkakumon standing on it!
James and Ikkakumon: Whoaaaaaaaaaa!
Both James and Ikkakumon fell, followed by Mammothmon as well.
Everybody winced when they saw James, Ikkakumon, and Mammothmon fell from the cliff together.
Everyone crashed on the bottom, which caused a plum of snow to rise in the air.
When everything's cleared, Ikkakumon and James were facefirst on the snowy floor.
Agumon: Ouch…
James: Urgh…
Both James and Ikkakumon twitched before They managed to push themselves back up.
Ikkakumon: You okay?
James: I think so… Huh?
James saw something up ahead and was surprised to see the big river.
Ikkakumon: It's the river.
James: We've made it…
James was surprised that they actually managed to reach it.
Mike: You guys managed to reach it.
Tentomon: Nice going you two!
Ikkakumon: That was amazing, James! You got us out of there!
Hearing that, James couldn't help but feel pride filling his chest.
James: Hehehe! It was all part of my plan from the start!
Tuffnut: Yep. Just like Snotlout.
(Rumbling sounds…)
James and Ikkakumon: (Gasps)...!
The two got surprised by the noise, and when they turned around, they saw Mammothmon rising back up from the snow and ice, along with a few Frigimon.
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
Palmon: Mammothmon got back up!
Ikkakumon: They just don't give up!
Both Ikkakumon and James resumed running again.
Ikkakumon: Was this part of your plan too?!
Kudamon: Obviously not.
James: Hurry! Just cross the river!
James hopped on Ikkakumon's head as they headed for the river with Mammothmon and the Frigimon in pursuit.
Ikkakumon landed in the water and quickly swam away, leaving Mammothmon and his minions on the other side of the bank.
Summer: It's a good thing they can swim, cause those guys sure can't.
James: Alright! We were able to stall them!
Mammothmon breathed out Black Miasma as he watched them go.
James: We should be fine now!
Beep, beep!
Hearing the call from his Digivice, James picked it up, knowing that Kyle was calling.
James: What's the situation over there with you guys?
A distance away from James and Ikkakumon, Kyle and Garurumon were communicating with James as smoke rose behind them.
Violet: Looks like they managed to set up a fire.
Kyle: We've managed to cross the river safely.
James' laughter came as he sounded relieved.
James: He… Hehe! How's Vixen?
Kyle: She's resting next to the fire right now. The ice should melt soon.
Vixen was laying on a blanket next to the fire as Biyomon watched over her. The frostbite on her body seemed to start fading away.
Lucas: That's a relief…
James: Thank goodness! We're crossing the river at the moment. We managed to shake them off.
Kyle: You should be able to see the smoke on the opposite bank. We're located directly under it.
Ikkakumon: Look! Over there!
Ikkakumon and James could clearly see the smoke rising in the air.
James: Okay, Ikkakumon! Full speed ahead!
Mammothmon: (Roar)...!
Mammothmon roared loudly as he stood on his hind legs, catching James' attention.
Callum: Okay… What he's doinv now?!
James: Come on! Seriously?!
Mammothmon landed and aimed his trunk in front. His eye glowed and then fired a huge beam of ice mixed in Dark Miasma. The cold of the attack started to freeze the river, and it was heading straight for Ikkakumon and James as an Ice Bridge started to form from Mammothmon's attack!
Ezran: He's freezing an entire river!
Ibis: I've only seen an ArchDragon capable of doing this!
Rayla: It's heading for the others!
James: The river water's being frozen over!
Ikkakumon: If we stay in the water, we'll be turned into ice along with it!
James: Then hurry up!
The ice was getting closer to them, but Ikkakumon jumped just when the Ice Bridge came down on them. He landed on the other side of the bank, but the jump sent James flying off of him as he landed on the ground rear first.
Cutter: That was too close!
James: AH! Ugh… Gonna feel that in the morning! Huh?
James rubbed his sore rear, but then noticed something that shocked him. The Ice Bridge that Mammothmon made and was currently using it to head towards the other side of the river.
James: NO WAAAAAY!
Ezran: They made a bridge of ice…
Eri: They're in trouble!
James couldn't believe that everything they did to lose them was for nothing.
James: That's so… not fair!
James' Digivice was still on and Kyle was able to hear the ruckus.
Kyle: James, what's wrong?
James: They just keep coming!
Mammothmon and his 4 minions were about to reach the other side. The Frigimon then attacked them with ice beams from their fists at James. He ran out of the way, but the force of the blast sent him flying.
Burple: Oh no! What can they do now?!
Winger: I don't know, Burple, but they have to figure it out fast.
James: Aaaaaah!
Ikkakumon: James!
Ikkakumon fired his Harpoon Torpedo to block the attack. Ikkakumon stepped in as he faced the enemy.
Ikkakumon: We have no choice but to fight! We can't let them cross over this bridge!
Gobber: That big lug is very brave.
James: But they're too strong! Besides…
The Frigimon fired their ice attacks again, but Ikkakumon held his ground as he swiped one of the attacks with his paw, only to be kicked in the face by Frigimon and knocked on his side.
Gon: Those snowballs are relentless!
Ikkakumon: Ugh!
James: Ikkakumon! You can't fight like that! Not when it's only us!
Ikkakumon: Urgh… Vixen still can't move! If they get past us, everyone will be in danger!
James gasped when he heard that and looked at the smoke where the others were.
James: Then Vixen…
Mike: That smoke is giving their location away.
Tentomon: Vixen and the others will be in heaps of trouble if they get passed James and Ikkakumon!
Ikkakumon then got back up.
Ikkakumon: We can do this! We can protect everyone! Come on, James!
As he thought about Vixen who's injured, James knew that Ikkakumon was right.
James: You're right… Vixen…
Beep, beep!
James heard his Digivice's alarm and picked it up.
Kyle: This is Kyle! What's going on over there?! I can come help you if things are bad!
Normally, James would have asked for help. But now…
James: Thank you. But there's no need to worry! We can handle it!
Violet: Huh?! You're not going to ask for help?!
James: We can't afford to leave Vixen alone right now! So just stay there and protect her!
Kyle was surprised to hear that from James of all people.
Kyle: I didn't see that one coming.
Gabumon: Me neither.
Ikkakumon smirked, happy that James is standing up for himself.
James: It's just you and me, Ikkakumon! And we're gonna stop these guys, right here, right now!
Ikkakumon: That's the spirit!
Lucas: That's sure is a surprise, James! I like it!
James smiled happily at that.
Ikkakumon was happy at James' determination. Suddenly, his Digivice started to glow white and flashing upwards in the ring before the crest appeared on the screen.
Knowing what this means, James turned to Ikkakumon.
Palmon: Gomamon! You're going to do it too!
Gomamon looked on excitedly.
Gomamon: Oh yeah! Digivolving time!
James: Let's do this!
The crest appeared in Ikkakumon's eye, and then he started to Digivolve.
"Alright! Ikkakumon, Digivolve to…"
Ikkakumon's whole body glowed bluish white and all his fur flew out. He gained a muscled humanoid body and his left arm turned into an orange furred arm with three beast claws. Orange fur also formed on his face along with a dark green shell on his back.
"Zudomon!"
Zudomon resembles a humanoid walrus with a single horn on its head similar to a unicorn, albeit barbed at the tip. Its body is light blue, his eyes are dark blue, and has orange fur on its face, left arm, and feet, and a mass of furry, red-tipped tails. It wears a dark green shell bolted to its back. Around his upper torso is a brown belt that's attached to his shell. On his upper arm are three brown belts wrapped on his furred arm. On his left shoulder is a metallic shield with the silhouette of a Dolphin on it.
Everyone was impressed at Gomamon's new Digivolution, especially the Vikings.
James became excited at seeing Ikkakumon's Digivolved form.
James: Alright!
All the 4 Frigimon jumped to attack Zudomon, but he did a swipe with his left claw and unleashed an energy slash that easily vaporized them in an instant.
Dagur: Awesome! He took all 4 of them down!
Mammothmon then charged in, but Zudomon collided with him and stopped Mammothmon from going further. Mammothmon tried to slap Zudomon down with his trunk, but he slapped the trunk away with his left claw. He then grabbed his tusk with one hand and pushed Mammothmon while holding his left claw up, before punching Mammothmon in the face which knocked him off the Ice Bride and into the frozen river which broke because of his weight.
Mammothmon then rose up as his eye glowed in fury and the Dark Miasma started to surround his body.
Fishlegs: He looks more upset than before now!
Zudomon's horn sparked and then he lifted his hand in the air. His body was covered in an aura of electricity as they gathered in his hand and started forming something that he grasped. An iron War Hammer.
The Vikings were awed at seeing Zudomon summon a hammer from lightning itself.
Alvin: Incredible!
Zudomon: (Warcry)...!
Zudomon began bringing down his War Hammer with the crest appearing in his eye again as James watched. Mammothmon then fired Dark Miasma from his trunk at him.
Zudomon: Vulcan's Hammer!
The electrified War Hammer pierced the Dark Miasma and hit Mammothmon's head, destroying the Ultimate Digimon along with the Ice Bridge and frozen river.
Zudomon landed in front of James as the melted river water rained down on them.
Everyone: He did it!
James: Nice job.
A Rainbow appeared before them as if it smiled at their victory.
Gobber: He's just like Thor himself. So beautiful…
Gobber let out a tear at the beautiful sight.
-Houston, Texas, United States-
Morning came for the third time in the troubled City as the giant screens on the City were on with people watching the news.
Newsman: It is now day 3 of the blackout. As emergency power begins to come back online, electronic devices connected to the Internet continue to operate erratically.
Lucas: Wait, it's already been 3 days?! That means we don't have much time left!
While the people City have some troubles with the blackout, some are taking chances from this like hanging or sleeping on the railroads while taking pictures and showing them to their friends.
Vixen: Some of them are taking opportinities a bit too much.
Her friends agreed with her.
Newsman: All disaster information continues to be updated on each Region's official Website. The Government recommends all Citizens carry a device to stay connected to the Internet at all times.
-Snow Mountain, Cloud Continent, Digital World-
With the danger over, James and Gomamon reunited with the others. A beam of red light rose in the air as Biyomon Digivolved.
"Biyomon, Digivolve to… Birdramon!"
Biyomon was now Birdramon as she stood in front of the others, including a recovered Vixen.
Violet: Vixen is all okay now!
Sarah: What a relief!
Gomamon: Are you feeling better now, Vixen?
Vixen: Yeah. And it's all thanks to you and Gomamon that I could fully recover.
James felt a little bashful at being tanked, but he felt proud nonetheless.
James: Well… I only did what any great leader would have done back there.
Gomamon laughed happily for James.
Vixen: You really did great, James.
Birdramon: All set, everyone? I'm ready to fly again! We should head out soon!
Gomamon: Ready when you are, leader! We're awaiting your command!
James was happy and eager to play the role of the leader.
James: Alright! Listen up you guys!
Kyle: Let's go.
Vixen: Right behind you, Kyle!
James nearly fell over at being interrupted.
James: HEY! I wasn't done yet!
Gomamon: (Laughs)...!
Snotlout: Hah! Unlike you, my team always listen to me! OW!
He was punched in the arm by Astrid. Again.
-Cave, Cloud Continent, Digital World-
Inside the Cave, Lucas and his group have been walking for a while. Sarah was getting frustrated after walking without seeing the exit.
Sarah: Mmm… Are we there yet!? I don't know about you, but this place is starting to creep me out!
Violet: Yeah. I think I know what you mean. Even though it's hard to tell in the dark, it just doesn't feel like a real Cave to me.
Mike: And the walls and ground are all slippery.
Fishlegs: He's right. I've been in many caves, but this one looks very different.
Agumon: (Gasps)...! Lucas, look!
Lucas: Huh?
Everyone looked at where Agumon was pointing and saw a bright exit up ahead.
Lucas: Light!
Everyone started running towards the exit and finally came out. But they weren't prepared to find what's outside.
Tall buildings, clear sky, Birds flying around, and people walking around doing their business.
Lucas: No way…
Mike: That can't be…
Violet: How can this…
Sarah: Are we really…
Lucas, Agumon, and everybody else couldn't believe what they were seeing.
They are… in the Human World.

Oragonking took a controler and clicked it, causing the screen to lower down and showing behind it was a large portal machine that's seems to be building up purple energy in its center.
Oragonking: Everybody, RUN!
Everyone stood up from their seats and left the Teather. When they got outside a loud burst of energy came out and everything became quiet.
After taking a breather, they all turned to Oragonking for an explanation.
Lucas: What just happened back there?!
Oragonking: Someone tried to enter this world by forcing themselves through the portal. But the questien is; Who?
Suddenly, everyone heard steps that came out of the Teather. Everyone stood on guard as someone came out of the shadows. All they could see is a spinning Parasol with dark and light shade of purple stripes.
Oragonking: No way…
Oragonking immediately recognized the person as the Parasol closed to reveal…
